French President Emmanuel Macron said Friday he has ordered the deployment of four units of mobile forces, along with aircraft and drones, to strengthen controls at France’s border with Spain in response to the migrant situation in the Spanish territory of Ceuta.
In a post on X, Macron <a href="https://x.com/emmanuelmacron/status/2083223378031239204?s=46">wrote</a> that he had been in contact with the leader of the Spanish government “to express our solidarity and offer any necessary assistance, including through Frontex.”
He cited ongoing cooperation with Morocco, which he said “has already enabled more than 40,000 returns from Ceuta to Morocco today.” Interior ministers from both countries were in contact “to ensure close monitoring of the situation.”
Macron noted that Ceuta does not benefit from freedom of movement to the rest of the Schengen Area. “However, as of yesterday, I asked the Interior Minister to strengthen controls at our border with Spain if necessary: 4 units of mobile forces, aircraft, and drones have been deployed.”
These steps, he said, reinforce arrangements France has taken since 2020 to protect its border with Spain through joint brigades and concerted action against illegal immigration.
 They also complement European instruments for returns and the asylum and migration pact. Macron cited a 25% drop in irregular flows to the European Union last year and a decline on the Atlantic and western Mediterranean routes in 2026.
“Solidarity and responsibility with our European partners to enforce our rules of firmness on returns and the protection of the Union’s external borders,” he wrote. “I reiterate here our solidarity with Spain, its government, and its people.”
The announcement comes after nearly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/34-dead-after-tens-of-thousands-of-migrants-invade-spain">60,000 migrants</a> entered Ceuta from Morocco since Thursday. At least 57 people have <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/spain-morocco-halt-deadly-rush-spanish-enclave-after-49000-cross-day-2026-07-31/">died</a>, many from drowning as they tried to swim into the territory and others from being trampled as crowds broke down gates and overwhelmed Spanish border officials. Most of those who crossed appeared to be young Muslim men.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said his government was “fully committed to providing an immediate response to the situation in Ceuta” and was mobilizing resources while working with Moroccan and international authorities. Later, he called the events something that “deserves our full reproach, our condemnation at the strongest possible level of rejection, condemnation, and consideration as deplorable.”
The influx followed a Spanish Supreme Court ruling that migrants crossing by sea cannot be immediately deported. Migrants were reportedly heard chanting “Bye Bye Morocco, hello Spain” and “<a href="https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/2083230305956077662">Allahu akbar</a>” as they pushed past officials.
 Locals described closed businesses, packed streets, and fear. One restaurant owner said it was “every man for himself.” Another called the scene an “apocalypse.”
Santiago Abascal of Spain’s Vox party described the arrivals as an invasion of military-aged men. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Italy was taking extraordinary measures, including the possible suspension of the Schengen Area with Spain, calling uncontrolled illegal immigration a concrete threat to Europe’s borders.
 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen labeled the situation “unacceptable” and said dangerous crossings must stop, smuggling networks must be dismantled, and returns must be swift.
President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-migrant-invasion-of-spanish-territory-will-be-a-midterm-talking-point">said</a> Friday the events in Spain would feature in Republican midterm messaging. Speaking from Camp David, he described it as looking “like an invasion of a country by hundreds of thousands of people” and warned that the same thing would happen to the United States on a larger scale if Republicans are not elected.
 “If we’re not in office, our country will be invaded at levels that made Spain look small time,” Trump said. He had told Fox News earlier Friday to “remember that picture,” adding that it would be the United States in three years “if the wrong side gets in.”
Vice President JD Vance called the images “an unfortunate reminder of the consequences of mass migration and the radical left-wing globalist policies that have enabled the Invasion of the West.” 
The State Department said the United States stands with the people of Spain against “this egregious violation of their sovereignty and human rights” and described the incident as the result of Spanish government efforts that enabled mass illegal migration.
Macron’s deployment of the four mobile forces, aircraft, and drones is the clearest French operational response so far to the pressure building at the Spanish border.

Surrounded by a horde of Moroccan migrant men shouting and pushing, Ceuta resident Rocio cried out for help from the Spanish government, which she said has been missing in action amid the influx. Between Thursday and Friday, roughly 60,000 migrants, mainly young men, swam or scaled border fences into Ceuta, which sits on the African continent.
Nearly three dozen people are dead, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/07/31/world/spain-ceuta-migrants-morocco" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The New York Times.
&#8220;We are afraid. We cannot condone this. Where are our rights as Spaniards? Where are our principles as Spaniards? &#8230; They need to fortify this city. We need police on the streets, the civil guard on the streets, we need the military on the streets. They&#8217;re not there; we&#8217;re alone. We cannot call the police or the civil guard because they can&#8217;t keep up. We need urgent help,&#8221; Rocio said during a televised interview.
She went on to call the situation an &#8220;invasion&#8221; as she broke down in tears. That was when the migrant men standing behind her began shouting.
&#8220;This is really outrageous. I am surrounded, I&#8217;m afraid. How can I not be afraid? I even feel like crying. This can&#8217;t go on, this can&#8217;t go on, really. This can&#8217;t go on; we need help. The thing is, I&#8217;m shaking. Really, this has to be lived through. You have to live through this as a woman. You have to live through this as a woman,&#8221; Rocio said.
&#8220;You have to live through this to understand it,&#8221; she said. &#8220;This is an invasion. They&#8217;ve started with Ceuta, but this is the border to Spain, the border to Europe. Today it was Melilla, tomorrow it will be the Canary Islands. The day after, it will be Tarifa.&#8221;
At the end of the interview, the reporter remarked that the migrant group closing in behind them couldn&#8217;t be kept away or controlled.
&#8220;They&#8217;ve started approaching us. I am asking them to stay away, but there&#8217;s no way,&#8221; the reporter said. The men then clapped but didn&#8217;t appear to understand what the women had said.

Spain’s far-left Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, who is set to give amnesty to one million migrants this year, traveled to Ceuta on Friday after deploying the Spanish military to control the melee.
Sánchez vowed to deport some of the migrants.
Earlier this month, however, Spain’s Supreme Court ruled that migrants who enter by sea cannot be immediately expelled.
“The Government will guarantee the safety of the residents of Ceuta, intensifying the presence of the Security Forces and Corps on the city’s streets. Additionally, we will deploy a physical containment barrier in the sea to facilitate repatriation at the border, in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling,” Sánchez said.
After complaining they had not eaten in days and could not find food in Ceuta, thousands of the new arrivals began making the journey back to Morocco on Friday.

Mass migration and Muslim invasion are playing out in Spain right now. That will come to America, too, if the Left has its way.
On Thursday, unbelievable video started pouring out of a place called Ceuta, an autonomous city that’s part of Spain and physically located across the Strait of Gibraltar in Africa, bordering Morocco.
According to the Associated Press, at least 60,000 people crossed into Ceuta. The total permanent population of Ceuta is 84,000 people, so the population essentially doubled overnight.
They were mostly all young males.
The police looked on as swimmers climbed the barriers and attempted to enter the country.
Why exactly is all of this happening? Two reasons. One comes courtesy of the horrifyingly corrupt and terrible Spanish prime minister, a man named Pedro Sanchez. You might remember him from lots of tape of him ripping President Trump, or siding with Iran or Venezuela or Palestinians.
The other comes courtesy of the Supreme Court of the country.
First, the president. Back in April, according to the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy511nln2xvo">BBC</a>, “Spain&#8217;s government approved plans to give legal status to half a million undocumented migrants, allowing them to be integrated formally into the workforce.”
A bunch of people legally moved to Spain, and the Spanish government decided to legalize them and grant them mass amnesty.
The BBC continued:
<blockquote>Prime Minister Sanchez describes his government&#8217;s decision as both an “act of justice” and a necessity for Spain. &#8230; The government&#8217;s plan will offer a one-year renewable residence permit to undocumented migrants. In order to be eligible, applicants had to prove they&#8217;ve already spent five months living in Spain and have a clean criminal record. They have between 16 April and the end of June to apply.
Sanchez said migrants helped “build the rich, open and diverse Spain that we are and to which we aspire. The Prime Minister said these migrants are needed to sustain the economy and public services in a country whose population is aging.</blockquote>
Spain has a massive demographic crisis. The replacement rate in Spain is 1.12.
The BBC added, “He also said it was the right course of action for a nation which in the past had seen many of its own nationals emigrate in search of better opportunities.
The idea is that Western civilization is fundamentally flawed, and somehow Spain owes it to millions of people from Africa to get in.
More than 1 million people applied for mass amnesty in June.
What did Pedro Sanchez say? He said, &#8220;That&#8217;s great; we want more.&#8221;
In February 2026, Sanchez wrote an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/04/opinion/spain-migrants-europe.html">opinion piece</a> in the New York Times titled, “I’m the Prime Minister of Spain. This Is Why the West Needs Migrants.” He wrote:
<blockquote>MAGA-style leaders may say that our country can’t handle taking in so many migrants — that this is a suicidal move, the desperate act of a collapsing country. But don’t let them fool you. Spain is booming.</blockquote>
It is not.
<blockquote>We, as Western nations, must choose between becoming closed and impoverished societies or open and prosperous ones. Growth or retreat: Those are the two options before us. And by growth, I’m not talking only about material gain, but also our spiritual development.</blockquote>
Spiritual development? You have to bring in vast swathes of Muslim migrants for the spiritual development of your Left-wing country?
Sanchez continued, “Governments can buy into the zero-sum thinking of the far-Right and retreat into isolation, scarcity, selfishness, and decline. Or they can harness the very same forces that, not without difficulties, have allowed our societies to thrive for centuries.”
He wasn’t even arguing in favor of an increasingly capitalist libertarian economy. He is a full-scale Left-wing socialist.
In January 2026, he said, “Some say we&#8217;ve gone too far that we&#8217;re going against the current. But I would like to ask you. When did recognizing rights become something radical? When did empathy become something exceptional? Spain is above all, a welcoming country and this is the path we choose: dignity, community, and justice.”
So many nice words for legalizing mass migration, importing literally millions of radical Muslims onto your soil — and also trying to cover up your own corruption. That’s because one reason Sanchez is doing this is that his administration has been plagued by massive corruption.
Sanchez is not particularly popular right now. He&#8217;s doing very poorly in the polls. He&#8217;s relying on knee-jerk anti-Westernism and radical anti-Americanism.
He openly allied with Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela; during the Iran war, he has pretty much openly allied with Tehran. He&#8217;s openly allied with the Palestinian Authority and Hamas.
And then the Supreme Court of Spain delivered an asinine decision in July, essentially ruling that if you arrived across the border, you could do what the United States would basically do if you arrived at the southern border right now: immediately be turned back.
But — according to the Spanish Supreme Court, that did not apply to anyone who arrives by sea. So if you were in a boat or if you swam, you could not be thrown back into Morocco.
But of course, these are nice Westernized people who just want to be part of Western civilization.
Or alternatively, many of them are radicalized Muslims, and some of them were yelling “Allahu Akbar” as they came in.
How did the Spanish government respond to all of this? According to Reuters, the government said that it would send 200 specialized police officers and 60 troops to reinforce Ceuta’s regular forces. There are roughly 1500 active police officers operating in Ceuta right now. That would bring the total to 1700 police officers and 60 troops to handle 60,000 migrants.
This is not just a mass-migration threat; it is a mass-migration threat of a particular ideology. According to many Muslims, including all radical Muslims, Spain remains part of Dar al-Islam, under which rubric a land once conquered by Muslims is theirs forever.
In the last three decades, Spain&#8217;s Muslim population has grown from roughly 250,000 in the early 1990s to 2.5 million people. One million Muslims now hold Spanish citizenship. Most of them come from Morocco, but there are also communities coming from Pakistan, Senegal, Algeria, and Bangladesh, and they are heavily located in certain regions like Catalonia, Andalusia, Madrid, and the Valencian Community.
The reproduction rate among Muslims is about three times that among Spanish natives. About 11% of all babies born in Spain are to a Muslim parent.
What you have seen is a gigantic expansion of Muslim presence on Spanish soil.
Spain looks like what our future could be.
This is why it is quite important that President Trump governs well and Republicans run a good candidate in 2028 because if they don&#8217;t, we could easily see a Democratic president with a Democratic Congress and a Democratic Senate poised to shove America far to the Left, perhaps permanently.
And if that happens, it’s all over.

The mass migration event taking place in Ceuta, Spain, is a result of multiple push and pull factors that enticed thousands to make the swim from Morocco this week.

For days leading up to the surge, a steady flow of hundreds of migrants entered the Spanish enclave, which is located 11 miles from mainland Spain and can be accessed via ferry.
Spain&#8217;s Interior Ministry in a Thursday <a href="https://www.interior.gob.es/opencms/es/detalle/articulo/Comunicado-sobre-la-situacion-en-la-ciudad-autonoma-de-Ceuta/">statement</a> attributed the earlier influx to &#8220;a court ruling to encourage the flow of undocumented migrants, mostly young people.&#8221;
Earlier this month, Spain’s Supreme Court ruled that migrants crossing by sea cannot be immediately deported.
“It has been a slow trickle since the Supreme Court’s ruling, but today has been an explosion,” a spokesman for Spain’s Guardia Civil police told Reuters Thursday.
Earlier this year, Spain&#8217;s far-left Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez allowed more than one million migrants to receive amnesty in an effort to counteract &#8220;MAGA-style leaders&#8221; shutting the doors to illegal immigration, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/30/world/europe/spain-migrants-legal-status.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The New York Times. The total number of applications was more than double what the government initially expected.
&#8220;What should we do with these people? Some leaders have chosen to hunt them down and deport them through operations that are both unlawful and cruel. My government has chosen a different way: a fast and simple path to regularize their immigration status,&#8221; Sánchez <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/04/opinion/spain-migrants-europe.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in a New York Times op-ed in February.

Sánchez traveled to Ceuta on Friday after deploying the Spanish military to quell the ongoing chaos. His government has so far refused to make an emergency declaration, as requested by the local government in Ceuta, since Spain&#8217;s civil protection procedures don&#8217;t consider migration flows a risk to national security, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/spain-ceuta-tarajal-morocco-migrants-5c864e5f951e2a7cf7a3eac417668e97" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
During his visit, Sánchez pledged to start removing some of the migrants and fortifying the maritime border.
&#8220;The Government will guarantee the safety of the residents of Ceuta, intensifying the presence of the Security Forces and Corps on the city&#8217;s streets. Additionally, we will deploy a physical containment barrier in the sea to facilitate repatriation at the border, in compliance with the Supreme Court ruling,&#8221; Sánchez said.
&#8220;We will expedite the repatriation files of the migrants who arrived irregularly. And we will maintain cooperation with the Moroccan authorities to continue fighting against the mafias that traffic in human beings,&#8221; he added.

On the Moroccan side, authorities clashed overnight with migrants making their way to Ceuta, deploying tear gas and water cannons. In the streets, vehicles were set ablaze amid the chaos.
But some migrants say that authorities in Morocco are helping facilitate their movement.
Moroccan national Ajoub el-Arrot, 24, who entered Ceuta, Spain, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/07/31/world/spain-ceuta-migrants-morocco" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The New York Times that Moroccan authorities &#8220;opened the border and let everyone go by,&#8221; adding, “I don’t know why they let us through.&#8221;
Migrants are continuing to flock to nearby Fnideq, Morocco, which has become a launching point for those making the trek to Ceuta.
Tensions in Ceuta remain high as migrants who have not eaten in days scour the town for food, as local officials say there&#8217;s no plan to feed or shelter the new arrivals. Some of the migrants have already chosen to turn around because they&#8217;re not getting any food as grocery stores shut their doors to them.

Later on, the president added, &#8220;They say that will be a talking point for the midterms because when you look at what happened to Spain, they don’t know what to do. It is happening again today. Coming in by the tens of thousands. They are just invading the country.&#8221;
The president was reacting to shocking footage from the Spanish territory of Ceuta where thousands of African migrants swam to the shore, some using inflatable inner tubes, before marching down the beach to Cueta&#8217;s towns and villages. Video footage shows that these migrants are mostly young men. Vice President JD Vance said the images out of Spain were &#8220;an unfortunate reminder of the consequences of mass migration and the radical left-wing globalist policies that have enabled the Invasion of the West,&#8221; adding, &#8220;Thank God POTUS was elected and our country&#8217;s border no longer looks like this.&#8221; 
The vice president pointed to commentary from Fox News&#8217;s Bill Melugin, who expressed horror at the number of young men who were rushing across the border.
&#8220;Just look here, do you see any women or children?&#8221; Melugin asked in his coverage. &#8220;I mean most people would call these folks so-called asylum seekers. These are young guys just flooding into the country and overwhelming what, if any, border there is.&#8221;
The State Department weighed in on the matter Friday morning, saying in a statement: &#8220;The United States stands with the people of Spain, and all Europeans, against this egregious violation of their sovereignty and human rights.&#8221;
&#8220;This unacceptable incident is the direct result of the Spanish Government&#8217;s deliberate efforts to enable and facilitate mass illegal migration into Europe,&#8221; the State Department added. &#8220;We are considering actions to defend Americans at home and abroad from this threat and stand ready to assist other European allies considering similar options.&#8221;

The Trump administration on Friday condemned Spain&#8217;s immigration policies and weighed possible retaliation after tens of thousands of migrants stormed across the Moroccan border into the Spanish territory of Ceuta. 
In a statement, the <a href="https://x.com/StateDept/status/2083197495119626476?s=20">U.S. State Department</a> accused Spain&#8217;s leftist government of facilitating mass illegal immigration, saying its policies fueled the chaos that spiraled into hours of anarchy and left dozens of migrants dead.
“The United States stands with the people of Spain, and all Europeans, against this egregious violation of their sovereignty and human rights,” the State Department said. “This unacceptable incident is the direct result of the Spanish Government&#8217;s deliberate efforts to enable and facilitate mass illegal migration into Europe.”
“We are considering actions to defend Americans at home and abroad from this threat and stand ready to assist other European allies considering similar options,” the federal agency added. 
In damage control, Spain&#8217;s Ministry of the Interior said more than 25,000 migrants have been deported back to Morocco, <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/spain-ceuta-morocco-migrants-border-crossings/">according to CBS News</a>. The leftist government also claimed authorities were removing roughly 150 migrants per minute. 
The Daily Wire could not independently verify those figures.
Earlier on Friday, President Trump weighed in on the controversy, which had sparked an international outcry, warning Americans that similar scenes could unfold in the United States if the balance of power shifted.

Trump’s comments came after around 50,000 migrants rushed across the border into Ceuta, a Spanish territory on the tip of Morocco, bringing widespread chaos and unrest. The migrants, emboldened by the lax immigration policies of leftist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, brought chaos to the streets of Ceuta, causing fear among locals who were overwhelmed by the flood. 
Migrant Ajoub el-Arrot <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/07/31/world/spain-ceuta-migrants-morocco">told</a> The New York Times that he was surprised at the lack of resistance.

At least 34 people died Thursday as nearly 50,000 illegal migrants invaded the Spanish territory of Ceuta from Morocco.
Many of the deaths were drownings as migrants attempted to swim into Ceuta. Others were killed when they were trampled as the swarm of people <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/31/world-news/at-least-18-migrants-die-trying-to-cross-morocco-spain-border-a-serious-humanitarian-crisis/">broke down</a> gates and overwhelmed Spanish border officials. Most of the migrants appear to be young men.
Leftist Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who recently paved the way for a million illegal migrants to obtain legal status, claimed he would end the chaos. 
“The Government of Spain is fully committed to providing an immediate response to the situation in Ceuta,” he said. “We are mobilizing all necessary resources, working with Moroccan and international authorities, and preparing the necessary measures to restore normalcy as soon as possible.”
Later on Friday, he added that the migrant flood &#8220;deserves our full reproach, our condemnation at the strongest possible level of rejection, condemnation, and consideration as deplorable.&#8221;
The military has been mobilized to respond to the massive influx of illegal migrants who were emboldened by a decision from Spain’s Supreme Court that migrants crossing by sea cannot be immediately deported.
As they pushed past border officials, migrants reportedly chanted “Bye Bye Morocco, hello Spain.” Almost 50,000 migrants entered Ceuta and they flooded the streets. One video shared online shows a man pooping in the streets. 
“Businesses closed. Shops shut because if you open a business, it gets overrun. … We’re scared. The streets are packed. There are no measures in place. It’s every man for himself. They’re not giving us any help,” one local restaurant owner <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/07/31/world-news/thousands-of-illegal-african-migrants-overrun-spanish-enclave-turn-streets-into-open-toilets-and-bathe-in-fountains-an-apocalypse/">said</a>. 
Another local described the event as an &#8220;apocalypse.&#8221; 
Migrant Ajoub el-Arrot <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2026/07/31/world/spain-ceuta-migrants-morocco">told</a> The New York Times he entered Ceuta looking for a job. 
“I don’t know why they let us through. Maybe they had some political reason,” he said. “They opened the border and let everyone go by.”
Another person told Reuters that he simply pushed past the police. 
“It was very tough,” Jadid Zacaria said. “The police tried to stop us. But our will and determination allowed us to come here.”
Santiago Abascal of the Right-wing Vox party said the influx was welcomed by Sánchez. 
“They’re not fleeing from war or poverty. It’s an invasion,” he said. “They are military-aged men invited by Pedro Sanchez’s corrupt government to storm our borders so they can roam Spain’s streets shouting ‘Viva Pedro Sanchez.’” 
In response to the videos coming from Ceuta, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Italy is &#8220;prepared to intervene with extraordinary measures to defend the borders and the safety of citizens, including the suspension of the Schengen Area with Spain.&#8221; The Schengen Area is a zone that allows people to travel between 29 European countries without border checks.
“The images coming from Ceuta are striking and demonstrate, once again, that uncontrolled illegal immigration poses a concrete threat to the security of Europe&#8217;s borders.” she said. “On illegal immigration, we will not yield an inch: defending the borders, stopping human traffickers, and ensuring effective repatriations will continue to be the line of this Government.”
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the situation in Ceuta “unacceptable.&#8221; 
“We cannot allow anyone to come to our Union without abiding by our rules,” she said. “Dangerous crossings must stop immediately. Smuggling networks must be dismantled. And returns must be swift, as our rules allow.”

Thousands of African migrants swam to the shores of the Spanish territory of Ceuta on Thursday, leading to a chaotic scene that officials are scrambling to contain.
Dramatic video shows the moment the migrants, who are mainly young men from Morocco, swam onto the shores with some using inflatable inner tubes before marching down the beach and through the nearby roads. The border breach comes after Spain&#8217;s Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that migrants crossing by sea cannot be immediately deported.
“It has been a slow trickle since the Supreme Court’s ruling, but today has been an explosion,” a spokesman for Spain&#8217;s Guardia Civil police <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/thousands-migrants-cross-into-spains-ceuta-foot-efe-reports-2026-07-30/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Reuters.
Juan Jesús Vivas, the leader of Ceuta, urged the Spanish government to make a national emergency declaration and deploy the military to quell the migrant invasion, according to Reuters. Spain’s interior ministry said it couldn&#8217;t declare a national emergency as it doesn&#8217;t view migration flows as a risk to national security, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/spain-ceuta-tarajal-morocco-migrants-5c864e5f951e2a7cf7a3eac417668e97" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez <a href="https://x.com/sanchezcastejon">said</a> the country &#8220;is fully committed to providing an immediate response to the situation in Ceuta&#8221; and that they&#8217;re &#8220;mobilizing all necessary resources, working with Moroccan and international authorities, and preparing the necessary measures to restore normalcy as soon as possible.&#8221;
&#8220;I just conveyed this to President @JuanVivasLara. This is the moment to build solutions, with responsibility and cooperation,&#8221; Sánchez wrote on X Thursday.
It&#8217;s not the first time Ceuta — which, along with Melilla, Spain, are the European Union&#8217;s only land borders with Africa — has experienced a mass migration event. In May 2021, the Spanish territory saw the arrival of roughly 8,000 migrants during a period of just two days, according to the AP.
The situation doesn&#8217;t appear to be coming to an end anytime soon as migrants continue staging at the Moroccan city of Fnideq to prepare to enter Spain, migrant ​rights activist Zakaria Zarroqui told Reuters.
&#8220;The situation remains out of control as we speak,&#8221; Zarroqui said.

TickPick initially reported an average purchase price of $11,327, breaking the previous U.S. record. By Thursday, the marketplace showed average resale prices topping $15,000, showing how quickly demand continues to climb.

The cheapest ticket listed on TickPick on Thursday cost $7,917. Comparable seats were listed for $7,042 on SeatGeek and $7,963 on StubHub. 
Luxury seating reached even higher prices. TickPick listed one ticket for more than $116,000, while SeatGeek had another priced above $112,000.

The second weekend of the 2026 World Cup saw the tournament favorites get back on track and set themselves apart from the rest of the field, while Cape Verde continued its fairytale run.

America&#8217;s opponent in the following round has yet to be determined. 
After surprising draws in their opening matches, Brazil, the Netherlands, and Spain proved why many predict them to win the tournament. 
Brazil followed its disappointing 1-1 tie against Morocco in its opening game with a hot first half against Haiti. Matheus Cunha scored the first two goals at the 23rd and 36th minutes, setting the tone for what would be a dominant first half. Brazil’s star Vinícius Júnior scored in the third minute of injury time in the first half for his second goal of the young tournament, and Brazil defeated Haiti 3-0.
The Dutch have not lost in regulation or extra time since the 2010 World Cup final against Spain. On Saturday, the Netherlands continued its record of consecutive World Cup matches without a loss by picking up its 14th straight against Sweden in a commanding way. 
Led by two goals in the first 20 minutes of the first half from Brian Brobbey and two in the first 10 minutes of the second half by Cody Gakpo, Netherlands won 5-1, propelling them to the top of Group F with Japan.
Coming off a 7-1 win, Germany struggled against Ivory Coast, who led the powerhouse 1-0 at the end of the first half following Franck Kessié’s goal in the 30th minute. The German national team was saved when Deniz Undav was substituted into the game with 30 minutes remaining in regulation. 
Undav, who came off the bench and scored in their last game, scored two goals to pull off the comeback against Ivory Coast, one of them coming in the fourth of six minutes of stoppage time in the second half.

“The build begins with the foundational Apse and Crypt, moves through Gaudí’s original Nativity façade and the dramatic Passion façade, before rising into the grand naves, Western Sacristy and six iconic towers. The final stage brings the model together with the Eastern Sacristy and the Glory façade.”
The release comes as the real Sagrada Familia approaches a major milestone of its own.
Construction on the basilica began more than 140 years ago and has continued ever since. According to <a href="https://www.theartnewspaper.com/2026/06/04/gaudis-sagrada-familia-finally-shakes-off-its-incompletable-tag-as-pope-prepares-to-inaugurate-tallest-and-final-tower">The Art Newspape</a>r, Pope Leo XIV is expected to bless the newly completed Tower of Jesus on June 10, the centennial of Gaudí&#8217;s death.
&#8220;The inauguration marks the symbolic completion of the church, though work is expected to continue for another decade,” according to the outlet.
The Sagrada Familia is the latest religious landmark to receive the Lego treatment. In 2024, the company released a model of Notre-Dame Cathedral, one of the world&#8217;s most renowned Catholic landmarks, during the reconstruction of the famous Paris church. The move signaled a willingness to create sets based on prominent religious sites.
The new set was designed by Rok Žgalin Kobe, who has also worked on Lego versions of the Eiffel Tower, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Trevi Fountain, and other architectural icons. 

The Sagrada Familia Lego set is available for preorder for $799.99 and is scheduled for release on November 1.
