Education Secretary Linda McMahon was interrupted during an appearance at a conservative event on Wednesday by protestors blasting circus music and audio insults played over nearly a dozen Bluetooth speakers spread throughout the room.
The incident occurred during McMahon’s appearance at the 47th National Conservative Student Conference in Washington, D.C., hosted by Young America’s Foundation.
As McMahon attempted during a sit-down interview with YAF president and former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, McMahon was interrupted mid-sentence by loud audio of a man who, among other things, accused the secretary of being a “corrupt billionaire.”
In response, Walker quipped that “apparently, the [Chinese Communist Party]” didn’t like her remarks, and that “they’re cutting into our technology.”
The audience laughed, and Walker and McMahon attempted to move on. But the interruptions did not end there.
Later, a recording of a woman ranting about “fat geriatric[s]” elicited an audible gasp from the audience. Students began to whisper to one another as the interruptions, which threatened to drown out the secretary’s comments, continued seemingly at random and from different corners of the auditorium.
Nevertheless, Walker and McMahon plowed ahead with their scheduled discussion, speaking over the chaos as YAF staffers scrambled to find and confiscate the personal audio devices.
“This is so weird,” one attendee whispered.
Event organizers collected an estimated eight Bluetooth speakers found under tables and chairs.
“This afternoon, a joyless, sore-loser leftist sought to silence the 13th Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, during her fireside chat with YAF President Governor Scott Walker at our National Conservative Student Conference,” YAF spokesman Spencer Brown told The Daily Wire.
Brendon Poteet of the University of Missouri, Columbia, told The Daily Wire that, &#8220;The first time it happened, I thought it was just a silly little YAF thing … and then it kept on happening again, and then it happened at my table.”
“I was just sitting, second row, and we noticed the Secret Service Agent inching closer and closer towards us,” he added. “That&#8217;s when I was like, &#8216;this is kind of ominous.&#8217; And one of the people found a note attached to one of the speakers.&#8221;
The Post-it note the student says he found bears the Latin phrase “Vox clamantis,” which translates to “a voice crying out.”

“I didn&#8217;t think it was sabotage [at first],” said Isaac Hoilman of the University of North Carolina Asheville. “I thought the wires were messed up or something. But when it started playing clown music, I thought something was up.&#8221;
Finally, as McMahon discussed Trump’s hiring and managerial choices, Bluetooth speakers began to blare Julius Fucik’s “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B0CyOAO8y0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entrance of the Gladiators</a>,&#8221; an 1897 military march that has become the  unofficial theme song for clowns and circuses.
YAF staff instructed students on the way out of the session to take their personal belongings so that “the CCP and the teachers’ unions can’t interrupt us anymore.”
The National Conservative Student Conference, which began on Monday, had not previously experienced any technical issues or interruptions.

Former Governor Scott Walker (R-WI) repeatedly fact-checked CNN anchor Abby Phillip during a Tuesday evening interview, pushing back as she tried to claim that Elon Musk said his Department Of Government Efficiency project would cut Social Security while speaking at a recent town hall event in Wisconsin.
Walker interrupted Phillip several times throughout the interview, refuting her claim she attributed Democratic talking points.

Phillip brought Musk into the discussion, noting that he had poured millions of dollars into the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, and then referenced a recent town hall in Green Bay, asking, &#8220;Is it a risk for Republicans to put all their eggs in that basket — not only did he spend the money, he came to the state. He came to the state, he talked about cutting Medicaid, Social Security through DOGE, bringing those issues up —&#8221;
&#8220;Actually, he never talked about that. He explicitly said in Green Bay that he would NOT cut social security,&#8221; Walker pushed back.
&#8220;Well, he talked —&#8221; Phillip tried to cut Walker off. &#8220;— at his rallies.&#8221;
&#8220;That’s exactly what he said,&#8221; Walked continued. &#8220;Other people said that, but I was there! I watched him! He did not say he was going to cut Medicaid.&#8221;
&#8220;All right, well, other people at his rallies, who work for DOGE, who work for Elon Musk&#8217;s organization, talked about those issues,&#8221; Phillip tried again.
&#8220;No,&#8221; Walker was not having it. &#8220;I was at the rally, not a one of them said that.&#8221;
&#8220;Do you think that —&#8221; Phillip said.
&#8220;That&#8217;s what the protesters said, but none of the people there actually said that,&#8221; Walker said.
&#8220;Do you think that there are risks here?&#8221; Phillip finally got her question out. &#8220;For Republicans and those issues being associated with Elon Musk?&#8221;
&#8220;There are if people believe the lies that people are saying about that, but that&#8217;s not at all what they said. If people believe that Medicaid and Medicare&#8217;s going to be touched, that&#8217;s just a flat — outright lie.&#8221;
Walker went on to say that Musk and DOGE had looked at Social Security and had found people who were on the list to be paid who were 120 years old and obviously no longer living – and that the organization&#8217;s goal was to root out similar waste, fraud, and abuse in other departments as well.

A new poll commissioned by the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/young-americas-foundation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Young America’s Foundation</a> found that the economy is the number one concern for college and high school students as President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a> remains unpopular among the demographic.
The poll, conducted by Echelon Insights, found that high school and college students overwhelmingly see the economy as the top concern, more than issues like abortion or the climate. The survey examined the views of 821 high school students and 804 college students from June 4 to June 9.
Of those surveyed, 44% of college students and 48% of high school students said the economy was their number one concern. In 2020, college students were a crucial demographic for Biden with an <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/539588-college-students-turned-out-in-droves-for-biden-heres-what-they-want-in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">estimated</a> 61% of young people (ages 18-29) casting a vote for Biden.
“Despite the Left’s never-ending focus on ‘progressive’ social issues, students are largely indifferent. Only 12% of high school students and 25% of college students consider abortion to be a top concern, while racial issues and LGBTQ+ ‘rights’ are even less of a priority,” YAF said in a <a href="https://yaf.org/news/new-yaf-poll-students-prioritize-economy-political-integrity-over-leftist-social-issues/">statement</a>.
Other top issues for students included school safety, political corruption, and health care.

Inflation has been a persistent issue under Biden, with elevated food, gas, and housing prices hampering the economy. Biden’s popularity among young people has also plunged since his inauguration in January 2021.
According to the poll, just 30% of college students and 32% of high school students approve of Biden. Those numbers are down from 62% and 58% respectively in 2021. Of college students who identify as liberal, just 42% approve of Biden’s performance.

The survey found that 63% of college students, a critical demographic for Biden’s re-election campaign, are not very or not confident at all in Biden’s ability to be an effective leader when it comes to young people.
Students were also polled on a range of policy issues from immigration to women&#8217;s sports with strong majorities saying it was unfair for males who identify as females to compete in women&#8217;s sports. Sixty-three percent of high schoolers and 60% of college students said it would be unfair at any level for a male identifying as a female to compete in a women&#8217;s athletic competition.
“Our polling shows the biggest issue young people care about right now is the economy,” said former Wisconsin GOP governor and Young America’s Foundation President Scott Walker. “It’s crucial that YAF continues to teach high school and college students the timeless principles of individual liberty and the free market so that future generations ensure the continued success of our great nation.”

The teaching of U.S. history in public high schools has received much attention in recent years. But what about the teaching of U.S. history at our colleges and universities? 
A <a href="https://cai.asu.edu/americanhistory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">newly released commission report</a> from the Center for American Institutions at Arizona State University presents a bleak picture. The imbalanced design of many introductory U.S. history courses guides impressionable students toward the conclusion that America is a failed experiment, leaving many college students with a starkly negative, narrow, and incomplete view of our country’s character and past.
Introductory courses in U.S. history – typically taught in two sections, the first half to 1877, and the second half since 1877 – play an outsized role in our university systems and have downstream effects on K-12 education. Many institutions require that non-history majors, as well as future K-12 teachers, enroll in the U.S. survey to fulfill General Education requirements. The requirement is perfectly understandable. To become informed citizens in our constitutional, democratic republic, graduates ought to have a well-rounded, basic knowledge of the history of our country. For some students, especially foreign nationals, the U.S. survey will be their first and last exposure to a comprehensive history of the United States.
These facts make the <a href="https://cai.asu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Center for American Institutions</a> commission all the more concerning. The commission on the Teaching of American History included former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, former Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Academic researchers for the commission examined syllabi for introductory U.S. history courses at the nation’s top-ranked colleges and universities. The research revealed that foundational topics and themes in U.S. history are frequently absent. Many of the courses were taught through a <a href="https://www.historians.org/research-and-publications/perspectives-on-history/september-2022/is-history-history-identity-politics-and-teleologies-of-the-present" target="_blank" rel="noopener">presentist perspective</a>, examining and interpreting history through the lens of contemporary politics, issues, and concerns. Absent from many of these courses were complexity, nuance, debate, and global context. Instead, many of the courses elevated an overly simplistic assessment of the past, devoid of much of the richness and complexity that characterized each historical period. It would be wrong and misguided if this were pursued in order to paint a false and extravagantly rosy picture of United States history. But in this case, it paints a false and extravagantly negative picture of United States history.
The first half of the U.S. survey, to 1877, covers the colonial period through the Civil War and Reconstruction. One syllabus for the first half of the survey announced that upon completion of the course, students will “grasp how inequality was woven into the nation’s very constitutions.” Another announced that upon completion of the course, students will “see how race and racism is snarled in every part of U.S. history.” Another course at a prestigious state university devoted the first three weeks of the U.S. survey to “ecological imperialism” and “cultural imperialism.” 
“We will spend considerable time learning about major themes that trouble the present-day,” an instructor at the university announced in the syllabus, “including the expropriation of Native American lands; the entwined histories of race, slavery, and freedom; the creation and recreation of gendered economic, political, social relations; and the rise of capitalism.”
The second half of the survey, U.S. history since 1877, is by far the more ideological and biased of the two. Many of the syllabi examined for this study were nakedly political. Most syllabi intensively focused on identity topics of race, gender, sexuality, queer theory, and militant social protest. The predominant takeaway for students in many of these classes was American history as a history of exclusion, chiefly organized around identity.
Neglected topics included basic political history, including various presidential administrations, pivotal elections, and party development. Legal history was generally excluded, as was military history and diplomatic history. Conservatism, of course, was almost universally framed in a negative context. Primary readings from conservative thinkers were rarely assigned.
Absent, also, was any indication that the United States had made real and significant progress on civil rights and race relations in the 20th century. Moreover, there was rarely any indication that the average standard of living, for all people, increased substantially across the twentieth century (better housing, health, education, and technology); instead, students were often fed an anti-market, anti-consumerist narrative about the corrupting effects of capitalism. Social, economic, and technological advancements received virtually no mention; instead, post-World War II America was often portrayed as a period – not of prosperity and expanding freedom – but of greed, decline, sexism, homophobia, and racism.
Many courses ended the semester on a sour note: the “Decline of America” and the “End of the American Empire” were common themes in course syllabi. Students exiting such a course would naturally conclude that the American experiment had failed, that it was never successful, and that drastic, revolutionary activism in the present time might therefore be warranted. Appropriately, the supplemental readings in many of these courses often championed political and social justice activism.
One syllabus, for example, announced that students will learn about the “diversity of American experiences with specific emphasis on race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexual orientation.” The final weeks of the course included the following topics: “Women’s Lib and Second Wave Feminism,” “Native Americans and Red Power,” “Gay Liberation and LGBTQ Activism,” “Chicano Activism and Latino Movements,” “Environmentalism and Green Movements,” “The Triumph of the Right,” and “From Witch-hunts and Communist-hunts to Terrorist-hunts.” 
Another syllabus at a separate university devoted an entire week to, “Final Frontiers: The Cultural War, LGBTQ Rights, and the Fight against Ablelism.”
Besides sacrificing truth for fiction, the extraordinary bias of our introductory U.S. history courses contributes to the erosion of our civic culture. It undermines the noble effort to create a common, shared vision for America’s future. It distorts our shared past, exacerbates divisions within our society, and discourages a fuller understanding of the entirety of U.S. history.
So what do we do? The report includes several noteworthy suggestions.
First, state legislatures should require educational transparency. Academic units at all public universities should be required to make syllabi publicly available and accessible so that we know what our tax dollars are being used to teach. Most syllabi, at most universities, are not available to the public.
But also we desperately need intellectual diversity. One <a href="https://econjwatch.org/File+download/944/LangbertQuainKleinSept2016.pdf?mimetype=pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent study</a> of the nation’s top 40 colleges and universities, for example, found that among History faculty, there are 33.5 Democrats for every single Republican. That is obviously unacceptable and flagrantly unrepresentative of the public and student body. Upper administrations and deans should insist on faculty searches that are not so narrowly tailored that they rule out candidates who are not ideologically aligned with the orthodox political persuasion. Certainly, at a minimum, DEI statements should be immediately abolished as ideological litmus tests.
Finally, a multi-disciplinary approach – including interdisciplinary degree programs with more expansive curricula – could encourage dialogue across the disciplines and potentially foster greater intellectual diversity among the faculty.
The United States of America is a great experiment in freedom, constitutional government, and well-ordered liberty. But the experiment is fragile. To preserve and maintain it – to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity – we must have robust, vibrant American institutions, including institutions of higher education. Let’s reform the teaching of U.S. history at our colleges and universities.

Former Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker slammed the Madison Police Department&#8217;s police chief on Monday, suggesting the official appeared to express empathy for supporters of abortion rights while announcing the burning of a pro-life center.
&#8220;Do you think the Police Chief would have said this if someone did this to a Planned Parenthood building?!? They’d be out of control,&#8221; Walker <a href="https://twitter.com/ScottWalker/status/1523703779203317760">asked in a tweet</a>. &#8220;What a double standard. Violence is violence and it should condemned, period.&#8221;
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes was <a href="https://www.cityofmadison.com/news/madison-police-chief-responds-to-arson-investigation-on-citys-north-side">addressing news</a> that a pro-life nonprofit &#8220;was targeted&#8221; by a &#8220;suspicious fire&#8221; — a Molotov cocktail was reportedly thrown into the pro-life organization&#8217;s building, one wall was burnt, and the message &#8220;if abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either” was spray-painted on the side of the building.
Barnes began his statement by saying: &#8220;The Madison Police Department understands members of our community are feeling deep emotions due to the recent news involving the United States Supreme Court.&#8221;
The police chief then warned against violence, saying: &#8220;Our department has and continues to support people being able to speak freely and openly about their beliefs. But we feel that any acts of violence, including the destruction of property, do not aid in any cause.&#8221;
&#8220;We have made our federal partners aware of this incident and are working with them and the Madison Fire Department as we investigate this arson,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;We will provide an update on this case Monday at 2 p.m. Specific details regarding the logistics of this update will be sent at a later time.&#8221;
Madison Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Fryer told The Daily Wire that &#8220;there are deep emotions on both/all sides regarding the recent news involving the United States Supreme Court.&#8221;
&#8220;The Madison Police Department supports the 1st Amendment and the freedoms it protects – no matter what side of an issue a person may fall,&#8221; she said.

“We reject violence against any person for disagreeing with another’s view,” he said. “Violence is not the way forward. Hurting others is never the answer.”

“We will work against overturning Roe and attacks on reproductive rights by leading with empathy and compassion,” he added. “We will defend what we believe in with our words and our voices—in the streets, in halls of government, and at the ballot box. In Wisconsin, we must lead by example.”

The Madison Fire Department <a href="https://www.cityofmadison.com/fire/daily-reports/fire-on-north-side-under-investigation">said in a news release</a> that it believes the pro-life center was &#8220;intentionally set&#8221; on fire and that &#8220;the incident is being investigated as an arson.&#8221;

It is not immediately clear who set the building on fire — Wisconsin Family Action claims the attack was from an &#8220;elitist anarchist group&#8221; that threw &#8220;two Molotov cocktails into the office, after breaking windows, and then proceeded to light a fire.&#8221;
&#8220;The arsonists posted graffiti on the outside of the building near the group’s offices. The message was, &#8216;If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.&#8217; Anarchy 1312 took responsibility for the attack, leaving its logo on an outside wall,&#8221; the organization said.
Wisconsin Family Action did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire. The organization&#8217;s president, Julaine Appling, said in a statement that the attack has far broader implications than merely reactions to the leaked draft opinion.

Appling hit the governor for his response to the incident, saying that he said &#8220;nothing about demanding a full investigation and criminal prosecution.&#8221;
&#8220;He just told his supporters he’d keep supporting abortion,&#8221; she added.
“But this attack fails to frighten us, and instead steels the resolve of law-abiding, common-sense, every-day folks to stand up and push back,&#8221; Appling continued. &#8220;We know today it is Wisconsin Family Action getting Molotov cocktails tossed through broken windows and fires ignited, but tomorrow it could be anyone in our state or another state who is attacked because we disagree with a policy or action, give voice to the voiceless, or stand up for what’s right.&#8221;
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said last week that President Joe Biden’s view “is that there is a lot of passion&#8221; asked Thursday if Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/that-doesnt-cut-it-ben-sasse-tears-into-biden-for-failing-to-condemn-doxxing-harassment-of-the-supreme-court">condones the publishing</a> of the Supreme Court justices’ locations.
On Monday, after days of silence, the White House condemned acts of &#8220;violence, threats, or vandalism&#8221; directed pro-life centers.
&#8220;President Biden strongly condemns this attack and political violence of any stripe,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-condemns-molotov-cocktail-attack-wisconsin-anti-abortion-group">statement said</a>. &#8220;The President has made clear throughout his time in public life that Americans have the fundamental right to express themselves under the Constitution, whatever their point of view. But that expression must be peaceful and free of violence, vandalism, or attempts to intimidate.&#8221;

On Sunday morning, former GOP Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, taking note of the two Los Angeles County deputies who were shot in the head in a cold-blooded ambush as they sat in their patrol car Saturday night, threw down the gauntlet to Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who is a senator from California.
Walker wrote, referencing Harris’ visit to Jacob Blake, who was shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, “Will @kamalaharris visit deputies who were shot (31-year-old mom &amp; 24 year-old) in her state? She visited someone in WI who was charged with felony 3rd-degree sexual assault and said she was proud of him. She and @JoeBiden need to side with law enforcement and denounce radicals.”

Roughly an hour and a half before Walker’s tweet, Harris wrote: “Doug and I are keeping the two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies in our hearts as they currently fight for their lives after a horrific attack last night. The perpetrator must be brought to justice.”

On September 7, attorney Benjamin Crump who is representing Blake reported that Harris visited Jacob Blake and told him that she was “proud of him and how he is working through his pain.”

Blake was shot in a confrontation with police in late August. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lawyer-kamala-harris-told-jacob-blake-shes-proud-of-him-social-media-blasts-her">According</a> to the Kenosha Professional Police Association (KPPA), the narrative that was built around the incident was inaccurate; they released a statement that asserted:
<blockquote>The officers were dispatched to the location due to a complaint that Mr. Blake was attempting to steal the caller’s keys/vehicle. Officers were aware of Mr. Blake’s open warrant for felony sexual assault(3rddegree) before they arrived on scene.Mr. Blake was not breaking up a fight between two females when officers arrived on scene.
The silver SUV seen in the widely circulated video was not Mr. Blake’s vehicle.
Mr. Blake was not unarmed. He was armed with a knife. The officers did not see the knife initially. The officers first saw him holding the knife while they were on the passenger side of the vehicle. The “main” video circulating on the internet shows Mr. Blake with the knife in his left hand when he rounds the front of the car. The officers issued repeated commands for Mr. Blake to drop the knife. He did not comply.
The officers initially tried to speak with Mr. Blake, but he was uncooperative. The officers then began issuing verbal commands to Mr. Blake, but he was non-complaint. The officers next went “hands-on” with Mr. Blake, so as to gain compliance and control. Mr. Blake actively resisted the officers’ attempt to gain compliance.
The officers then disengaged and drew their tasers, issuing commands to Mr. Blake that he would be tased if he did not comply. Based on his non-compliance, one officer tased Mr. Blake. The taser did not incapacitate Mr. Blake. The officers once more went “hands-on” with Mr. Blake; again, trying to gain control of the escalating situation.
Mr. Blake forcefully fought with the officers, including putting one of the officers in a headlock. A second taser (from a different officer than had deployed the initial taser) was then deployed on Mr. Blake. It did not appear to have any impact on him. Based on the inability to gain compliance and control after using verbal, physical and less- lethal means, the officers drew their firearms. Mr. Blake continued to ignore the officers’ commands, even with the threat of lethal force now present.</blockquote>
The <a href="https://archive.is/YcYRU#selection-2199.0-2331.16">criminal complaint</a> against Blake stated that Blake&#8217;s ex-girlfriend (identified as LNB in the complaint) claimed he entered her house uninvited early in the morning on Sunday, May 3, 2020, and that she awoke to see him standing over her:
<blockquote>LNB stated at about 6 AM she was woken up by the father of her children, Jacob Blake, herein known as the defendant, standing over her saying, “I want my s***.” As LNB lay there, on her back, the defendant, suddenly and without warning, reached his hand between her legs, penetrated her vaginally with a finger, pull it out and sniffed it, and said, “Smells like you’ve been with other men.”
Officer Raiche reported LNB had a very difficult time telling him this and cried as she told how the defendant assaulted her and then the defendant immediately left the bedroom.
LNB stated the defendant penetrating her digitally caused her pain and humiliation and was done without her consent. LNB stated she was upset but collected herself and ran after the defendant out the front door and then realized her vehicle was missing. LNB ran back inside to her purse, which was on the kitchen counter and checked it, quickly realizing her key to her truck (Ford Explorer 2002), a black individual key and the only key for the vehicle and her Great Lakes Debit Card were missing. LNB immediately called 911 and while waiting for Officers, checked her Great Lakes Account and saw two fraudulent ATM withdrawals on May 3, 2020 that she did not make, both at PNC Bank, 3920 Washington Road, both for $500, at an unknown time.
LNB stated she and the defendant have three children together but have never resided together in the eight years they have been on and off. LNB stated the defendant is unemployed, has no vehicle, and would not tell LNB where he was currently living. LNB stated over the past eight years the defendant has physically assaulted her around twice a year when he drinks heavily.</blockquote>
As a result of the complaint, Blake was <a href="https://wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetail.html?caseNo=2020CF000736&amp;countyNo=30&amp;index=0&amp;mode=details&amp;_ga=2.73454356.709057279.1598671016-1492491321.1598671016" data-t-l="|inline|intext|n/a">charged on July 6</a> with felony third-degree sexual assault, misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct connected to domestic abuse.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is recommending a bill that will legally require university officials to <a href="http://www.dailycardinal.com/article/2017/02/bill-would-require-uw-schools-to-protect-offensive-speech">defend offensive speech</a>.
The bill is a supplementary piece of legislation to Walker&#8217;s 2017-&#8217;19 biennial budget; that budget stipulates giving $10,000 to the UW System to revise its &#8220;policies related to academic freedom.&#8221;
<a href="http://host.madison.com/ct/news/local/education/university/scott-walker-wants-law-requiring-uw-officials-to-protect-offensive/article_fae53172-118b-5ae1-96dd-dd26e3de5bd3.html">The Capital Times</a> reported on the contents of the bill:

The UW Board of Regents and each college campus &#8220;shall guarantee all members of the system&#8217;s community the broadest possible latitude to speak, write, listen, challenge and learn.&#8221; &#8220;It is not the proper role of the board or any institution or college campus to attempt to shield individuals from ideas and opinions they find unwelcome, disagreeable, or even deeply offensive.&#8221; Members of the system&#8217;s community are free to criticize and contest views expressed on campus and &#8220;speakers who are invited to express their views, (but) they may not obstruct or otherwise interfere with the freedom of others to express views they reject or even loathe.&#8221; &#8220;The board and each institution and college campus has a responsibility not only to promote a lively and fearless freedom of debate and deliberation, but also to protect that freedom when others attempt to restrict it.&#8221;

Leftists were predictably upset that Walker was supporting free speech; Jason Klein, spokesperson for Associated Students of Madison, told The Capital Times, &#8220;Just as speakers should have the right to comment on issues they want to, students should have the right to protest what speakers are saying. If the university is being told to censor students, that is troubling,&#8221; Jason Klein, spokesperson for Associated Students of Madison, told The Capital Times.
Michael Moscicke, president of the AAUP chapter at UW&#8211;Madison, added, &#8220;My only concern is to ensure that speech at our institutions will be protected under such a law, even when it takes the form of protest.&#8221;
Walker&#8217;s actions were likely triggered by <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/10869/shapiro-eviscerates-raucous-protesters-university-hank-berrien">protests</a> last November at the UW-Madison, where the campus Young Americans for Freedom hosted Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro, which led to large student protests.

One of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump&#8217;s allies accused Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) of rigging five elections. Seriously.
The <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2008/06/02/the-dirty-trickster">odious Roger Stone</a> wrote a <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/presidential-campaign/291534-can-the-2016-election-be-rigged-you-bet">column</a> in The Hill titled &#8220;Can the 2016 election be rigged? You bet&#8221; as a way to defend his former boss&#8217;s claims that the election will be rigged against him.
After rambling on about electronic voting as a means to rig the election, Stone then strangely blamed Walker for rigging elections.
&#8220;As someone with great sentimental attachment to the Republican Party, as I joined as the party of Goldwater, both parties have engaged in voting machine manipulation,&#8221; wrote Stone. &#8220;Nowhere in the country has this been more true than Wisconsin, where there are strong indications that Scott Walker and the Reince Priebus machine rigged as many as five elections including the defeat of a Walker recall election.&#8221;
Stone bases this bizarre claim off a <a href="https://richardcharnin.wordpress.com/2014/11/12/wisconsin-2014-governor-true-voteexit-poll-analysis-indicates-fraud/">blog post</a> from a man named Richard Charnin, who <a href="https://richardcharnin.wordpress.com/2016/08/15/jfk-proving-the-warren-commission-was-a-hoax-and-oswald-was-framed/">thinks</a> that &#8220;the Warren Commission was a Hoax and [Lee Harvey] Oswald was framed&#8221; in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. 
Even though his former boss won the nomination, Stone still seems to have sour grapes over Trump losing the Wisconsin primary to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), as he whined that &#8220;Marquette University poll showing a 20 point shift from Trump ahead by 10 percent to Trump behind by 10 percent which was simply absurd. Shifts like that don&#8217;t happen over brief intervals of time, absent a nuclear explosion.&#8221;
&#8220;It didn&#8217;t make any sense &#8212; unless you knew what was going on was an &#8216;instant replay&#8217; of Walker&#8217;s victories,&#8221; wrote Stone.
In other words, Stone accused Walker of rigging the primary victory for Cruz, citing no evidence other than that the polls accurately predicted a Cruz victory.
University of Wisconsin-Madison political scientist professor Mike Wagner <a href="http://www.wpr.org/former-trump-advisor-scott-walker-has-rigged-5-elections">told</a> Wisconsin Public Radio that Stone&#8217;s claims were entirely baseless and seemed like it was &#8220;at least consistent with the Trump message, if not coordinated with the Trump message.&#8221;
Stone&#8217;s column may also cause things to be awkward between the Trump and Walker teams, especially since Walker is now appearing at rallies with Trump.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) slammed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for &#8220;inflaming the situation.&#8221;
At a campaign event on Monday, Clinton weighed in on the riots occurring in Miwaukee, WI.
&#8220;Look at what&#8217;s happening in Milwaukee right now,&#8221; Clinton said. &#8220;We&#8217;ve got urgent work to do to rebuild trust between police and communities. And get back to the fundamental principle: Everyone should have respect for the law and be respected by the law.&#8221;
Walker smacked Clinton&#8217;s comments in an appearance on Fox and Friends.
&#8220;I think comments like that are just inflaming the situation,&#8221; Walker said. &#8220;I think people understand, in that neighborhood and in Sherman Park and in Milwaukee, they want law enforcement to step up and protect them. The people who live in the neighborhood want police, they want the police in Milwaukee and the sheriff&#8217;s department to step up and protect them. They didn&#8217;t want the criminals who were doing those actions against those businesses to do that. And I think statements like that and the lack of leadership we have had from the president on this issue only inflame the situation.&#8221;
The riots in Milwaukee occurred after a black police shot an armed black man, and the Wisconsin National Guard had to intervene in the rioting that was going on.
