Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) fired back at critics after she was caught on camera at an eclipse-viewing event telling students that the moon was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-congresswoman-tells-students-the-moon-is-made-of-gas-and-it-gets-worse" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made of gases</a> — and she blamed Republicans and their &#8220;lust for stupidity&#8221; for focusing on her obvious error.
During the event, Jackson Lee told students, &#8220;You’ve heard the word ‘full moon.’ Sometimes you need to take the opportunity just to come out and see a full moon is that complete rounded circle, which is made up mostly of gases. And that’s why the question is why or how could we as humans live on the moon? Are the gases such that we could do that? The sun is a mighty powerful heat, but it’s almost impossible to go near the sun. The moon is more manageable.&#8221;
Jackson Lee claimed in an X post that she had been referring to the sun at the time, saying, &#8220;Obviously I misspoke and meant to say the sun, but as usual, Republicans are focused on stupid things instead of stuff that really matters. What can I say though, foolish thinkers lust for stupidity!&#8221;
She then pivoted to attack Republicans, adding, &#8220;They should be focusing on issues like prenatal care, building more affordable housing, and more reduction of student loan debt as President Joe Biden is &#8230; Also, I care more about these children who would not have experienced the eclipse in this enthusiastic manner. And, I care more about protecting the rights of women and children than engaging in this kind of senseless dialogue!&#8221;

Monday was a pagan day in America.
A giant solar eclipse moved all the way across the United States over the course of the day.
There are a couple of different ways you can view a solar eclipse.
If you are a normal person, you&#8217;d view the solar eclipse as a wonderful example of science at work, an incredible example of the workings of the universe in which the sun is totally eclipsed by the moon — the workings of the rotations of the universe and the solar system. That&#8217;s really cool.
Before they knew any of the science, traditional religions suggested that things like solar eclipses — which rarely appeared and were also very scary to people — were the heavens moving in response to human sin. Human beings would sin, and then God would respond with a solar eclipse.
The other way to view it from a religious perspective would be to say that this is amazing and wonderful evidence of God&#8217;s handiwork in the universe — the intricate workings of the universe that God created. All of those are well within traditional monotheistic religion.

Then, there&#8217;s the pagan view.
The pagan view is that you sin against nature, and then the gods smack you.
That view has apparently been taken by a wide variety of people across the United States. The most obvious example of someone with this belief is Sunny Hostin, co-host on “The View,” who not only blamed the solar eclipse on climate change, but also blamed earthquakes on climate change.
Now, it may be that Hostin doesn&#8217;t know anything about science, or it may be that, in pagan circles, you are supposed to blame everything on man&#8217;s sin against nature. Man has sinned against Gaia, and now Gaia will take her revenge.
In the most spectacular scientific fail of the day, Hostin <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/legitimately-insane-sunny-hostin-mocked-for-suggesting-climate-change-behind-solar-eclipse-earthquakes">said</a> yesterday: “We got a solar eclipse. We’ve got earthquakes. … The Rapture is here. Also, I learned that the cicadas are coming. For the first time in a hundred years. This is for the first time in many, many years. … All of those things together, would maybe lead one to believe that either climate change exists, or something is really going on.”
There is something going on with what Hostin said, and that is the view that if you live in this pagan world, where the world takes its revenge on you for sinning against the climate, then you must pay homage to the climate.
You don&#8217;t have to try and solve a problem. It&#8217;s not a real-world problem that the climate is changing over time and that perhaps you adapt as human beings or you try to mitigate particular activities.
Instead, it is a sin against the climate.
This move toward paganism is occurring across the spectrum. The same exact people who will say monotheistic religion is a bunch of hocus-pocus are claiming the woo-woo crystals they are wearing are changing their elemental relationship to the universe.
On Monday, NASA decided they were going to bring on an indigenous scientist named Dr. David Begay to talk about the solar eclipse. They asked him how the eclipse related to indigenous science and what the eclipse meant to the Navajo people.
Begay stated:
<blockquote>I think the knowledge on the eclipse, it goes way back from time immemorial, I&#8217;m told by my elders. They knew that when you look at the sun directly, you can damage your eyes. And so they knew the danger of looking at the eclipse with the naked eye. So people were encouraged to go inside to ensure that people weren&#8217;t looking up, especially the kids. So it goes way back.
And as far as eclipses, it&#8217;s a time of renewal. The sun alignment with the moon and also the earth alignment, the whole cosmic cycle goes through a regeneration process. It revitalizes the process. And so it&#8217;s a gift that goes on for many years, over and over. It’s a cycle.</blockquote>
The fact that NASA is promoting this is proof of a return to near pre-scientific paganism.
What he&#8217;s talking about is not science; it is, in fact, a religion of one sort or another. And NASA is promoting that now.
Would NASA feature a devotee of ancient Christian or Jewish theology to talk about how man’s sins against God caused the solar eclipse? I don&#8217;t think so.
Apparently, “diversity and inclusion” means that we have to act as though indigenous ancient science is the same as Western science. Ancient peoples could not even properly chart the dates of solar eclipses because they didn&#8217;t understand the science.
NASA is supposed to have the best scientists. These are the people who put us on the moon. These are the people who may help us get to Mars. And here they are doing this interview.
The reversion to pagan ideology is bizarre, but it does tie into a moral underpinning that says we are to make certain sacrifices to the pagan universe — and then we backfill the rationale for them.
This is why on the Left, once you get rid of monotheistic religions, they are filled in with some other form of religion. It could be with scientific theism — which at least has a track record of scientific progress — or with a pagan morality.

Pagan morality is what many people tend to fill it with, which is why you see Whoopi Goldberg, another co-host on “The View,” justifying abortion by citing the Ten Commandments. When you get rid of Judeo-Christian religion, you end up with new sacraments.
And the new sacraments of the far-Left include things like justifying child sacrifice, in the sense that you are talking about the justification of the termination of pregnancy and calling it moral.
She is basically saying that if you are willing to execute child rapists and murderers, then you should also be willing to excuse the killing of the unborn.
Why? Because this is now a sacrament on the Left. That is why they&#8217;re now twisting the Bible.
This has become a sacrament on the pagan Left: Abortion is not just something terrible that sometimes people have to do. It is something that is an affirmative good.
That is perverse. And the Left’s sacraments include things like abortion, climate change, and trans ideology, which explains the bizarre spectacle of the legendary women&#8217;s basketball coach Dawn Staley suggesting trans women should be allowed to play in NCAA events.
Making abortion a sacrament and paying homage to the climate change gods so there won&#8217;t be an earthquake or a solar eclipse are all parts of the bizarre universe we now inhabit.
And it is incumbent on moral people to push back against that bizarre universe by demonstrating moral clarity.

The last total solar eclipse to pass over the United States until August 23, 2044, will occur on Monday.
Beginning over the South Pacific Ocean, the total eclipse will be seen near Mazatlán, Mexico, then cross over Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas before heading toward Cleveland, Ohio. It will then pass over Buffalo, New York, northwestern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine before it vanishes from the United States.
The last previous total solar eclipse that Americans saw occurred on August 21, 2017. Monday’s eclipse differs from the previous eclipse in various ways; the path of totality — in which Americans can see the total eclipse rather than a partial eclipse, is much wider as its range extends between 108 and 122 miles wide, rather than from roughly about 62 to 71 miles wide, as it was in 2017. The path is wider because the Moon, whose distance from the Earth varies as it orbits our planet, is closer to the Earth today than in 2017.
Additionally, as NASA <a href="https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/" data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1712664565562000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3inJBAzhWgCiUv_PicA5K0">explains</a>:

Because the sun is nearing solar maximum during Monday’s eclipse, viewers may be able to see sunspots more clearly if they use eclipse glasses.

You can also use an indirect viewing method, such as a pinhole projector,” NASA warns.

A poll of scientists found that a majority of respondents view sex as binary while most believe gender is fluid, according to a report published over the weekend in the United Kingdom.
The Telegraph published a story on Saturday that said the newspaper conducted a survey with Censuswide, a market research consultancy <a href="https://censuswide.com/about-us/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">headquartered</a> in London, of almost 200 scientists at British universities from 2023 to 2024.
Sex is a biological classification, while gender, in modern times, generally refers to societal expectations for the two sexes.
Pollsters received feedback showing 58% of respondents believe sex is binary, with the caveat that excludes rare cases involving &#8220;intersex&#8221; individuals.
The Cleveland Clinic <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/16324-intersex" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> people who are intersex &#8220;have genitals, chromosomes or reproductive organs that don’t fit into a male/female sex binary.&#8221;
Twenty-nine percent of respondents agreed with the statement that &#8220;sex is not binary,&#8221; while 13% of respondents did not share a view on the question or preferred not to say.
The Telegraph <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/ar-BB1jdYX3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also noted</a> that 64% of scientists said they believe gender is fluid, 22% said gender is binary, and 14% did not provide an answer.
Dr. Wolfgang Goymann, a professor of behavioral biology at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence, provided a comment to the newspaper about the findings.
“To me this just means that at least 29% of the academics that filled out this questionnaire do not understand the biological concept of sex, and at least 22% of them do not know what gender means,” Goymann said.
The debate about sex and gender being binary has become a hot-button issue in the United States as <a href="https://apnews.com/article/states-define-sex-transgender-dc8c48669aef760c68d2fb7abde10e8c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">policymakers consider measures</a> that grapple with self-identity and biological traits in the eyes of the law.

The Public Religion Research Institute <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-support-for-gender-binary-increases-in-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> a survey in 2023 that found 65% of Americans, up from 59% in 2021, say there are only two genders: male and female. Pollsters found a partisan divide in which 90% of Republicans supported the gender binary, 44% of Democrats agreed with it, and 66% of independents said they believed in two genders.

The moon is shrinking, and future NASA flights may be profoundly affected by that new reality, a <a href="https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/PSJ/ad1332" target="_blank" rel="noopener">new study</a> asserts.
As the moon’s metallic core continues to cool after it was formed roughly 4.5 billion years ago, the lunar surface — which is not supple but brittle — contracts even more, leaving it more vulnerable to earthquakes, as researchers from the University of Maryland posit. Those earthquakes could prompt landslides that would endanger astronauts on the surface.
“As we get closer to the crewed Artemis mission&#8217;s launch date, it&#8217;s important to keep our astronauts, our equipment and infrastructure as safe as possible,” Nicholas Schmerr, a geologist at the University of Maryland who helped author the study, stated. “This work is helping us prepare for what awaits us on the moon – whether that&#8217;s engineering structures that can better withstand lunar seismic activity or protecting people from really dangerous zones.”
NASA has plans to launch the Artemis III in 2026, the first time man has landed on the moon in over half a century. The flight is planned to land near the lunar South Pole.

Harvard University’s affiliated cancer hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, announced it will retract six studies and correct 31 others after a blogger exposed dozens of papers by several authors of having manipulated scientific images.
The president and CEO of the institute, Dr. Laurie Glimcher, has four papers being investigated that molecular biologist and blogger Sholto David alleges helped build her career.
“No doubt Laurie built her career on papers like this one, in Nature Immunology (2003), which includes some impressive contributions to art, but perhaps not to science,” David wrote in his blog <a href="https://forbetterscience.com/2024/01/02/dana-farberications-at-harvard-university/">For Better Science,</a> in which he explains how multiple scientific images were manipulated.
The investigation of the scientists who hold faculty positions at Harvard Medical School comes at a time when the embattled university’s former president, Claudine Gay, resigned after multiple allegations of plagiarism.

“In 2012 this epic fail was published, Irene gained ethical approval to aspirate bone marrow from cancer patients and healthy volunteers, but Figure 1 includes three obvious duplications,” David wrote about a paper coauthored by Ghobrial.
“Wouldn’t the volunteers be furious after undergoing such an invasive procedure?” he added. “Can the data from a paper like this ever be rehabilitated?”
Conservative activist Christopher Rufo who along with others broke the story of Gay’s plagiarism told The Daily Wire said more accusations are to come.

“There is an enormous amount of fraud, plagiarism, and falsification in elite academia,” he said. “What we&#8217;re seeing with Claudine Gay and the Harvard teaching hospital is only the beginning. It&#8217;s time for Americans to stop subsidizing this madness.”
Requests for retractions and corrections on some of the papers have been sent to the journals they were published in, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/health/dana-farber-harvard-retractions-corrections-ceo-laurie-glimcher-935636f5">according to the Wall Street Journal</a>.
“The presence of image discrepancies in a paper is not evidence of an author’s intent to deceive,” Barrett Rollins, Dana-Farber’s research integrity officer and chief science officer emeritus, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/22/business/harvard-dana-farber-cancer-institute-data-manipulation-claims/index.html#:~:text=Exterior%20of%20Dana%2DFarber%20Cancer%20Institute.&amp;text=The%20Dana%2DFarber%20Cancer%20Institute,following%20allegations%20of%20data%20manipulation.">told CNN</a> on Monday.
“That conclusion can only be drawn after a careful, fact-based examination which is an integral part of our response,” he added. “Our experience is that errors are often unintentional and do not rise to the level of misconduct.”
The institute has not determined if the scientists have committed misconduct. The institute is currently conducting a review of more than 50 papers written by three additional researchers: program director of the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center, Dr. Kenneth Anderson, Director of the Clinical Investigator Research Program, Dr. Irene Ghobrial, and Chief Operating Officer, Dr. William Hahn.

America is falling behind in the race to send man to the moon again: <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nasa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NASA</a> has once again delayed its launch dates, this time citing major safety concerns.
NASA delayed the missions in an <a href="https://www.nasa.gov/news-release/nasa-shares-progress-toward-early-artemis-moon-missions-with-crew/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> last week, citing unresolved issues including a battery, the heat shield, and a circuitry component responsible for air ventilation and temperature control.
The first crewed mission around the moon, Artemis II, was pushed back to September 2025. The first crewed mission to land on the moon since 1972, Artemis III, was pushed back to September 2026. Artemis II was originally scheduled for this November, and Artemis III was originally scheduled for December 2025.
According to NASA, the Artemis IV mission to land astronauts at the Gateway lunar space station remains on track for 2028. Artemis I, an uncrewed test flight, was originally planned to launch in November 2018 but didn’t launch until November 2022.

The Artemis mission series has the ultimate goal of preparing for human expeditions to Mars.
NASA officials offered an explanation for the delays in <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?532930-1/nasa-officials-testify-status-return-moon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">testimony</a> to the House Science and Space subcommittee on Wednesday.
The subcommittee reiterated the nation’s goal of landing a human crew within the decade, and emphasized the importance of beating other countries in landing the first crew on the moon: the first country there would establish precedence on the conduct and possibility of future lunar activities. Lawmakers called out China specifically.

William Russell with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) expressed concern that NASA projected a launch of Artemis III within a year after Artemis II.
“One year is not a lot of time to do that learning, turn around and be ready for a September 2026 launch date,” said Russell.
Catherine Koerner, NASA associate administrator for exploration systems development, defended the timeline. Koerner said that America was still leading in the race to the moon.
“We believe that we will be on the surface of the moon before China is, and it’s our intent for that to happen,” said Koerner.
Koerner said that Artemis III vehicle processing would be far enough along prior to the launch date for Artemis II to make it feasible. Koerner noted that NASA’s 11 industry partners signed on to the adjusted launch dates.
“With Artemis, we’re building a capability: not just a launch capability but a capability in cislunar orbit, capability on the surface of the moon over time,” said Koerner.
Michael Griffin, former under secretary of defense for research and engineering for the Department of Defense and former NASA administrator, said that Artemis needed to be restarted in its entirety and would require congressional direction to the executive branch on how to continue. Griffin said that Artemis II was on a realistic schedule, but that Artemis III wasn’t.
“In my judgment, the Artemis program is excessively complex, unrealistically priced, compromises crew safety, poses very high mission risk of completion, and is highly unlikely to be completed in a timely manner to be successful,” said Griffin.
In addition to its testimony on Wednesday, GAO also <a href="https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-24-107249?utm_campaign=usgao_email&amp;utm_content=topic_space&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=govdelivery" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a report on NASA’s delays and remaining major challenges.
GAO stated that they <a href="https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-24-106256" target="_blank" rel="noopener">foreshadowed</a> NASA’s announcement of a delay back in November; they reported that NASA projected an ambitious schedule, had delays to key events, and had a significant amount of remaining technical work.
GAO also noted a lack of transparency with the mission costs: NASA has yet to provide an official cost for Artemis III, despite requesting $6.8 billion in its fiscal year 2024 budget request. Total requests for the upcoming Artemis missions have amounted to at least $38 billion over the next five years. GAO noted that they first reported the lack of fiscal transparency back in 2019, when they discovered NASA didn’t plan on establishing an official cost estimate for Artemis III.
Key partners in the Artemis missions include SpaceX, the company founded and led by X CEO Elon Musk, which is developing a human landing system; and Axiom Space, developing more advanced spacesuits.

The U.S. government is not being fully transparent about what it knows about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ufo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UFOs</a>, according to a journalist who just wrote a book on the topic.

&#8220;What I&#8217;m unconvinced of,&#8221; Graff added, &#8220;is that the government is covering up meaningful knowledge of alien spacecraft, alien visitors, extraterrestrial contact — I just don&#8217;t see the extraordinary evidence or the fingers of the cover up that one would expect if that was in fact the case.&#8221;
Todd pressed Graff to comment on the recent strides by the U.S. government to publicly address unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) as reports of mysterious sightings grow and to <a href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Transcripts/Transcript/Article/3249303/usdis-ronald-moultrie-and-dr-sean-kirkpatrick-media-roundtable-on-the-all-domai/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">engage with the scientific community</a>.
Graff described there being a &#8220;shift&#8221; since 2017 — when The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">made waves</a> with a report on the Pentagon&#8217;s secretive efforts to study UFOs — in which &#8220;serious people are talking seriously about this in the national security circles in Washington and on Capitol Hill.&#8221;
In recent months, there has been a push on Capitol Hill, led by a bipartisan group of House and Senate members to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/another-bureaucracy-top-house-ufo-investigator-cautions-disclosure-legislation-may-be-a-dud-offers-additional-pathway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">enact legislation</a> to force more disclosures as part of a broader defense bill for the coming year. One of those lawmakers, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), was also a guest on the program with Graff. &#8220;Our public wants to know what&#8217;s going on,&#8221; the congressman said.
But part of the &#8220;challenge&#8221; of identifying UAPs, Graff explained, is establishing a &#8220;baseline&#8221; with the help of sensors and other instruments for what may be zipping around the Earth on a typical basis. He did not completely rule out the prospect of extraterrestrial crafts, positing that they may be &#8220;passing all around us all of the time and we don&#8217;t have the technology adequate to notice&#8221; — considering factors such as size and movement speeds across a vast expanse.

Despite the Left pretending to “follow the science,” the abortion lobby hasn’t kept theirs up to date. Spurning medical research from the last several decades — which is meant to both improve standard care practices for physicians and inform policymakers — abortion supporters are sticking with the science of the 1970s. As they refuse to develop their talking points past those used to get Roe v. Wade through the federal court system, the abortion industry is propagating misinformation and harming patients through a lack of informed consent.
The <a href="https://www.acog.org/advocacy/facts-are-important/gestational-development-capacity-for-pain" target="_blank" rel="noopener">American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)</a> is a particular perpetrator of this.
While the organization is meant to lead medical experts in maternal-fetal care, ACOG states, “The science conclusively establishes that a human fetus does not have the capacity to experience pain until after at least 24–25 weeks [about five and a half months].” In the same breath, however, they also maintain that “facts are important.” Which one is it exactly? Because their former claim fails to recognize the most recent developments in our understanding of fetal pain.
While there does seem to be a real consensus that fetal pain begins at 20 weeks at the very latest, some publications (including <a href="https://jme.bmj.com/content/46/1/3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one written by Drs. Derbyshire and Bockmann</a> in 2020) demonstrate the high likelihood that fetal pain is possible <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8935428/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as early as 12 weeks</a>.
In studying fetal development, we know the <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8935428/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">physiological pain system</a> (the cortical subplate and thalamus) is present by 12 weeks, but to study whether the preborn child actually feels pain via the developed structures this early would violate bioethical practice not only in the possible infliction of pain upon the fetus but in the invasive nature of the research upon the mother. Consequently, this is really the closest we are able to ethically get at this time.
Unfortunately, when major medical organizations like ACOG deny such research, their misinformation affects both abortion legislation and the advancement and practice of fetal surgery. While some fetal surgeries are performed <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/24945-fetal-surgery" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as early as 16 weeks</a>, the myth that the preborn child cannot feel pain until 24 weeks can lead to physicians feeling they do not need to provide fetal analgesia. Even if the data on fetal pain was not as clear as it is, morality should encourage medical professionals to err on the side of caution rather than to unwittingly do harm.
But fetal pain is not the only misinformed science propagated by the abortion lobby.
Further along in pregnancy, when discussing fetal viability, abortion supporters work even harder to push the extreme and outdated viability limits under Roe, ignoring their (now reversed) victory in Planned Parenthood v. Casey which <a href="https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/505/833/#tab-opinion-1959105" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at least acknowledged the relativity of viability</a> to our society’s ability to advance medical technologies.
As an example, the academic spin room of the abortion lobby, the Guttmacher Institute, “updated” their <a href="https://www.guttmacher.org/state-policy/explore/state-policies-later-abortions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">definition of viability</a> in August 2022, stating, “A fetus generally reaches viability between 24 and 28 weeks LMP (gestational age).”
This definition could only be considered up-to-date if it was made in 1973. It’s half a century later, however, and as previously noted, viability is not a fixed gestational time point.
The Casey opinion notes fetal viability to be <a href="https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/505/833/#tab-opinion-1959105" target="_blank" rel="noopener">28 weeks when Roe was passed down</a> in 1973, but even the pro-abortion American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) now notes the window of “periviability” where there is a chance of survival after preterm birth as early as <a href="https://www.acog.org/advocacy/facts-are-important/understanding-and-navigating-viability#:~:text=Later%20in%20pregnancy%2C%20a%20clinician,6%20days%20of%20a%20pregnancy." target="_blank" rel="noopener">20 weeks to 25 weeks and 6 days </a>gestation due to recent advances in the field. In fact, the <a href="https://kffhealthnews.org/morning-breakout/world-record-for-premature-birth-goes-to-alabama-baby-born-19-weeks-early/#:~:text=Nov%2011%202021-,World%20Record%20For%20Premature%20Birth%20Goes%20To%20Alabama%20Baby%20Born,only%20132%20days%20of%20gestation." target="_blank" rel="noopener">earliest premature baby to survive</a> was born at 21 weeks and 1 day.
Though viability can be a helpful tool in medicine, the legal application of viability is nothing but discriminatory. It assumes viability to be central to what determines human value, but placing any qualification on humanity creates a hierarchical and systematic oppression of the group lacking the quality&#8230;in this case, the previable preborn child.
Pro-life physicians and research professionals must continue to prioritize gaining a deeper knowledge of life in the womb for the sake of defending vulnerable preborn children from the weaponization of outdated science. It’s time the abortion lobby was pulled forward into the twenty-first century and forced to acknowledge the scientific developments that have led to our modern understanding of the preborn human as a unique, whole, and valued second patient during pregnancy.
Let’s stop stealing from the 1970s; abortion supporters, give them their science back.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nasa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NASA</a> appointed a new director of UAP research, a position meant to oversee studies into <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ufo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UFOs</a>. Although NASA refused to identify the person upon making the <a href="https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-shares-unidentified-anomalous-phenomena-independent-study-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> on Thursday, hours later — after being confronted about a lack of transparency — the agency changed course and released a name.
Bill Nelson, the administrator of NASA, shared the plans for a new top UFO investigator upon the release of an independent study team&#8217;s <a href="https://science.nasa.gov/science-pink/s3fs-public/atoms/files/UAP%20Independent%20Study%20Team%20-%20Final%20Report_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) based on unclassified data that offered no evidence of extraterrestrial life but did call for more investigation into objects they could not explain and beyond.
“NASA’s new Director of UAP Research will develop and oversee the implementation of NASA’s scientific vision for UAP research, including using NASA’s expertise to work with other agencies to analyze UAP and applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to search the skies for anomalies,&#8221; Nelson said. &#8220;NASA will do this work transparently for the benefit of humanity.&#8221;

NASA later released an updated press release that <a href="https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/update-nasa-shares-uap-independent-study-report-names-director">said</a> Mark McInerney had been appointed director of UAP research.
&#8220;McInerney previously served as NASA’s liaison to the Department of Defense covering limited UAP activities for the agency. In the director role, he will centralize communications, resources, and data analytical capabilities to establish a robust database for the evaluation of future UAP,&#8221; the news release said. &#8220;He also will leverage NASA’s expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and space-based observation tools to support and enhance the broader government initiative on UAP. Since 1996, he has served various positions at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland; the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and the National Hurricane Center.&#8221;
Earlier in the day, despite a stated commitment for transparency, NASA officials initially resisted disclosure of whom the agency had chosen to lead its UFO endeavor when pressed during a news conference to discuss the independent study&#8217;s findings and NASA&#8217;s plans for disclosure by filmmaker <a href="https://twitter.com/Unexplained2020/status/1702355706249125964" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Fox</a> and reporters. The decision to keep the name under wraps stood in contrast to how the Department of Defense handled the announcement of its UAP office last year, <a href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/3100053/dod-announces-the-establishment-of-the-all-domain-anomaly-resolution-office/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">naming</a> Sean Kirkpatrick as the director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).
NASA Associate Administrator Nicola Fox <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQcqOW39ksk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">conceded</a> that her agency had already appointed someone to the role some time ago, but declined to name the individual, saying, &#8220;We will not give his name out now.&#8221; Dan Evans, NASA’s assistant deputy associate administrator for research, said harassment and even threats directed at members of the research group were &#8220;beyond the pale&#8221; and factored into the agency&#8217;s decision not to announce the new director&#8217;s name.
NewsNation&#8217;s Joe Khalil asked the panel whether their decision to withhold the identity of the lead UAP investigator would be permanent and noted that &#8220;it seems to cut against the dedication to being open and transparent&#8221; to keep the name secret.
&#8220;At the time, yes, we are withholding that name. Let&#8217;s not forget that we&#8217;ve only just received this report,&#8221; Evan replied. &#8220;And what we need to do now as an agency is come together and provide a cohesive and coherent response to it that addresses multiple findings and recommendations, okay? We&#8217;re only announcing initial actions today. Will that person&#8217;s name be disclosed, as to your specific question? Potentially, yes. But again, we need to ensure that the scientific process and method is free. Okay? That&#8217;s my response.&#8221;

NASA Reveals UAP Director After Transparency Standoff

A top scientist revealed he intentionally left out key information disputing the climate change narrative pushed by the Left so that his paper would get published.
Patrick T. Brown, a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University and doctor of earth and climate sciences, published an article titled, “<a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/i-overhyped-climate-change-to-get-published" target="_blank" rel="noopener">I Left Out the Full Truth to Get My Climate Change Paper Published</a>.”
“I just got published in Nature because I stuck to a narrative I knew the editors would like,” he commenced the article. “That’s not the way science should work.”
Brown pointed out that news articles about wildfires across the world this summer declared they were the result of climate change. He surmised that the media parrots that narrative because “it fits a simple storyline that rewards the person telling it.”
Citing his paper “<a href="https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-023-06444-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Climate warming increases extreme daily wildfire growth risk in California</a>,” he added, “I knew not to try to quantify key aspects other than climate change in my research because it would dilute the story that prestigious journals like Nature and its rival, Science, want to tell.”
“The biases of the editors (and the reviewers they call upon to evaluate submissions) exert a major influence on the collective output of entire fields,” Brown attested. “They select what gets published from a large pool of entries, and in doing so, they also shape how research is conducted more broadly. Savvy researchers tailor their studies to maximize the likelihood that their work is accepted.”
Brown listed ways in which a researcher should tailor their piece in order to get published: ignore practical adaptation measures, ignore other factors that could cause wildfires, such as poor forest management; ignore statistics that might run counter to the climate change narrative, such as the fact that over 80 percent of wildfires in the US are started by people.
Brown also explained how using metrics that “will generate the most eye-popping numbers” was also advantageous in getting a paper published.
“Another way to get the kind of big numbers that will justify the importance of your research—and impress editors, reviewers, and the media—is to always assess the magnitude of climate change over centuries, even if that timescale is irrelevant to the impact you are studying,” he noted.
“When I began the research for this paper in 2020, I was a new assistant professor needing to maximize my prospects for a successful career,” Brown recalled. “When I had previously attempted to deviate from the formula, my papers were rejected out of hand by the editors of distinguished journals, and I had to settle for <a href="https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0239520" target="_blank" rel="noopener">less prestigious outlets</a>. To put it another way, I sacrificed contributing the most valuable knowledge for society in order for the research to be compatible with the confirmation bias of the editors and reviewers of the journals I was targeting.”
After revealing he left academia over a year ago, he stated, “Climate scientists shouldn’t have to exile themselves from academia to publish the most useful versions of their research. We need a culture change across academia and elite media that allows for a much broader conversation on societal resilience to climate.”
He turned to the media: “The media, for instance, should stop accepting these papers at face value and do some digging on what’s been left out. The editors of the prominent journals need to expand beyond a narrow focus that pushes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. And the researchers themselves need to start standing up to editors, or find other places to publish.”

A Harvard physicist professor cited remnants from a meteor-like object to claim that they could have come from outside our solar system.
Professor Avi Loeb and a team of researchers retrieved roughly 700 tiny metallic spheres from an impact zone about 85 kilometers north of Manus Island, Papua New Guinea. According to composition analysis executed by Stein Jacobsen and his team at Harvard University, 57 reportedly contain compositions that don’t match man-made or natural alloys.
“This is a historic discovery because it represents the first time that humans put their hand on materials from a large object that arrived to Earth from outside the solar system,” Loeb said on Tuesday.
“I was thrilled when Stein Jacobsen reported to me about it based on the results in his laboratory,” Loeb told <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12456979/First-alien-object-recovered-Earth-Harvard-Avi-Loeb-says-hundreds-tiny-fragments-bottom-Pacific-Ocean-outside-solar-system.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail</a>. “Stein is a highly conservative and professional geochemist with a worldwide reputation. He had no bias or agenda whatsoever and expected to find familiar spherules with solar system composition. But the data showed something new, never reported in the scientific literature. Science is guided by evidence.”
“For now, we wanted to check whether the materials are from outside the solar system,” he continued. “The success of the expedition illustrates the value of taking risks in science despite all odds as an opportunity for discovering new knowledge.”
According to Loeb’s non-peer reviewed<a href="https://lweb.cfa.harvard.edu/~loeb/Interstellar_Expedition.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> study</a>, the spherules contain beryllium, lanthanum and uranium, referred to in the study as “BeLaU.” “The ‘BeLaU’ abundance pattern is not found in control regions outside of IM1’s path and does not match commonly manufactured alloys or natural meteorites in the solar system,” the study theorized. “We suggest that the ‘BeLaU’ abundance pattern could have originated from a highly differentiated magma ocean of a planet with an iron core outside the solar system or from more exotic sources.”
The expedition to the South Pacific was announced back in January, with Loeb explaining the reasons for the trip in a post on Medium.
“Within a couple of months, I will be leading an expedition to collect the fragments of the first interstellar meteor,” Loeb <a href="https://avi-loeb.medium.com/we-are-going-to-visit-the-first-interstellar-meteor-8cf498d4d6fc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in January. “This meteor is the first near-Earth object ever detected by humans from outside the solar system. We have a dream team, including some of the most experienced and qualified professionals in ocean expeditions. We have complete design and manufacturing plans for the required sled, magnets, collection nets and mass spectrometer.”
