Pack your bags and hide the daytime Emmys: Rosie O’Donnell has officially announced her plan to torment daytime television once again with an upcoming appearance on Season 30 of &#8220;The View.&#8221;
Apparently, <a href="https://abcnews.com/GMA/Culture/rosie-odonnell-reveals-moved-us/story?id=119707526">moving across the Atlantic</a> wasn&#8217;t enough to keep the 64-year-old off our screens. Speaking on Monday’s &#8220;The Tangle With Kyle Ridley&#8221; podcast, the professional grumper <a href="https://pagesix.com/2026/08/03/entertainment/rosie-odonnell-confirms-season-30-return-to-the-view/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=nypost">confirmed</a> she’ll be dropping in for the show&#8217;s milestone anniversary bash. But don&#8217;t panic just yet; she claims she’ll strictly be showing up &#8220;just as a guest&#8221; to take part &#8220;in whatever way they want.&#8221;
&#8220;They’re bringing back all the hosts, I think,&#8221; O’Donnell declared, puffing her chest out over a show she routinely trashes every chance she gets.
Naturally, Rosie couldn&#8217;t resist doing what she does best: airing dirty laundry and blaming everyone else for her own past televised meltdowns. Reflecting on her chaotic stints during Seasons 10 and 18, she took a swing at Whoopi Goldberg, lamenting that they weren&#8217;t the &#8220;Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen&#8221; dream team she expected. Instead, Rosie speculated that the 70-year-old Goldberg must have felt &#8220;encroached upon&#8221; by her presence.
She also dragged the show’s backstage atmosphere, calling it a talent-churning &#8220;factory&#8221; run by men. It&#8217;s just the latest chapter in her epic, two-decade-long obsession with Trump, which started way back in 2006 when she trashed him on live TV and he famously labeled her a &#8220;real loser.&#8221;

Rosie O&#8217;Donnell will be featured as a guest host for Jimmy Kimmel&#8217;s show as the late-night host steps away for a few months.
“I asked one of our commander-in-chief’s all-time favorites, Rosie O’Donnell, to be here to keep the hits coming,” Kimmel said, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2026/06/20/entertainment/jimmy-kimmel-taps-longtime-trump-nemesis-rosie-odonnell-to-replace-him-as-he-steps-back-from-late-night-show/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost&amp;utm_source=twitter">according</a> to Page Six.
O’Donnell’s selection carries a political edge because of her long-running feud with President Donald Trump. The former “View” co-host <a href="https://people.com/rosie-o-donnell-opens-up-about-child-clay-12-coming-out-nonbinary-11745558">left the United States</a> after Trump won a second term, moving to Ireland with her youngest child, Clay, who claims to be nonbinary.
In March, O’Donnell said she was officially living in Ireland and described the move as the safest and best decision for her family.
“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country,” O’Donnell said in a TikTok video. “You know, I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”
Her feud with Trump escalated in July 2025, when the president said he was considering taking away her U.S. citizenship.
“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time, according to Page Six. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA.”
O’Donnell responded in an Instagram post by saying Trump had “always hated” that she saw him as “a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself.”
O’Donnell has since returned to the U.S. for visits, including a quiet two-week trip to see family and a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” which films in New York City.
Now, she is set to return to late-night as one of Kimmel’s guest hosts.
Kimmel announced Thursday that he will take the next two months off from his late-night show, joking that he is doing so “this time voluntarily,” per Page Six. The remark appeared to reference the brief period ABC pulled his show over <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abc-pulls-jimmy-kimmels-late-night-show-indefinitely-after-charlie-kirk-comments">comments</a> he made pertaining to Charlie Kirk’s death in September.
The show will continue with a rotation of guest hosts, including Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, Jelly Roll and Rosie O’Donnell.

Rosie O’Donnell, who admitted to leaving the country because President Donald Trump was re-elected, recently shared that her 12-year-old child has had some strong reactions to the move.
The comedian discussed the situation with former CNN host Jim Acosta. O’Donnell had previously blamed her leaving on wanting to maintain a good environment for her 12-year-old son, Clay, who is autistic and previously identified as nonbinary.
“My daughter is now saying, ‘D*mn him, d*mn Trump,’ and smashing her hand on the table,” O’Donnell said, referring to Clay as a girl.
“And I said, ‘Wow, honey, what are you thinking?’ And she said, ‘He made us move in order for our own safety! And it’s now he’s destroying the country!&#8217;”

Appearing on Monday&#8217;s episode of &#8220;The Best People with Nicolle Wallace,” O&#8217;Donnell voiced her frustrations to the longtime MSNBC anchor. The former &#8220;The View&#8221; cohost claimed that if Trump continued to implement his agenda, there would be no America left when he was finished.

O&#8217;Donnell began by arguing that Democrats should be more open to accepting former Trump voters who had &#8220;changed their minds&#8221; after seeing what they&#8217;d really voted for — although polling indicates that Trump voters largely approve of Trump&#8217;s performance across multiple issues.
&#8220;When people say, ‘I changed my mind,’ we have to say, ‘Welcome back to reality. Let’s all be Americans together.’ Right? Because what’s happening is not only happening to Democrats,” O’Donnell said. “It’s happening to everyone. And when the Medicaid cuts go in, old people are going to start to die, to die.”

Trump, who has often <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rosie-odonnell-confirms-rumors-she-left-u-s-following-trump-victory">sparred with O&#8217;Donnell</a> over the years, made the comment in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114840552173805537">post</a> shared to his Truth Social platform.

O&#8217;Donnell hit back with a series of photos and video clips shared to her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/stories/rosie/3675343273224984728/">Instagram Stories</a> that included a number of photos of Trump with the late disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Claiming that she lived &#8220;rent-free&#8221; in Trump&#8217;s head, she dared him to &#8220;go ahead and try&#8221; to revoke her citizenship.
&#8220;I&#8217;m not yours to silence. I never was,&#8221; she insisted, signing her name alongside an Irish flag.
She followed that with another post along with a caption asking whether he planned to deport everyone who took a stand against him: &#8220;the president of the usa has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is &#8211; a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself &#8211; this is why i moved to ireland &#8211; he is a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy compassion and basic humanity- i stand in direct opposition all he represents- so do millions of others &#8211; u gonna deport all who stand against ur evil tendencies &#8211; ur a bad joke who cant form a coherent sentence.&#8221;

As the nation continues to mourn the tragic loss of life from the catastrophic flooding that hit Central Texas over the July 4 holiday, Democrats are looking for someone to blame. As usual, it’s all being pinned on President Trump.
Celebrities and commentators have been piling on the president, accusing him not only of ignoring the threat of “climate change” but also claiming that Trump cutting jobs at the National Weather Service exacerbated the tragedy. 
Meanwhile, many social media users are pointing out that the NWS had extra staffers working in the time leading up to the flooding.
“What a horror story in Texas,” comedian Rosie O’Donnell, who moved to Ireland following Trump’s reelection, said in a TikTok <a href="https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1941900226828108079">video</a> posted Sunday. “When the president guts all of the early warning systems and the weathering forecast abilities of the government, these are the results that we’re going to start to see on a daily basis.”
“It’s because he put this country in so much danger by his horrible, horrible decisions and this ridiculously immoral bill that he just signed into law,” the actress continued. “As Republicans cheered, people will die as a result and they’ve started already.”
“Shame on him. Shame on every GOP sycophant,” O’Donnell said.
Many commenters on X pointed out the inaccuracies of O’Donnell’s statements.
“NWS had EXTRA staffers during the storm and warnings were [issued] hours in advance. This is TDS,” the account Libs of TikTok <a href="https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/1941900226828108079">wrote</a> alongside screenshots of articles about NWS adding extra staff and copies of the flash flood warnings.
“Everyone knows she doesn’t care about the people in Texas. She saw any opportunity to blame Trump, and that is her sole purpose,” another person <a href="https://x.com/Denosko1/status/1941906396250882198">added</a>.
“Children are dead in Texas, and your first instinct is to use their tragedy to rant about Trump — from your villa in Ireland? You don’t need a platform — you need perspective,” <a href="https://x.com/DeCesareStephen/status/1941915141957677255">echoed</a> a third.
O’Donnell wasn’t the only one using the tragedy to vilify President Trump. Attorney and liberal media editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski posted and then deleted a similar sentiment on Threads, which was screenshot and circulated on X.
“The people in Texas voted for government services controlled by Donald Trump and Greg Abbott,” his original message <a href="https://x.com/Legal_Fil/status/1942072754431271216">said</a>. “That is exactly what they are getting.” 
A Texas pediatrician was let go from her job after laying the blame on Texans as well. 
“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry,” she wrote. “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts,” Dr. Christina B. Propst posted on Facebook, as The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/texas-pediatrician-fired-after-saying-maga-flood-victims-got-what-they-voted-for">reported</a>.
Connecticut senator Chris Murphy posted on X, “Accurate weather forecasting helps avoid fatal disasters. There are consequences to Trump’s brainless attacks on public workers, like meteorologists.”
At least 80 people, including 28 children, have been declared dead from the raging flood that struck Central Texas on July 4. Ten girls from Camp Mystic are still missing. 
Jason Runyen, a meteorologist in the National Weather Service office, said they increased the staff from two to five people in advance of the storm. 
“There were extra people in here that night, and that’s typical in every weather service office — you staff up for an event and bring people in on overtime and hold people over,” Runyen said.
President Donald Trump issued a disaster declaration for Kerr County on Sunday. He <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-shares-plan-to-visit-site-of-texas-flood-damage">also said</a> he’d be visiting the scene of the tragedy later this week.

The comedian stated her complaints as part of an Instagram post. “The Bezos’ wedding. It turned my stomach seeing all these billionaires gathering in the gross excess of it all. The show of it,” O’Donnell wrote in an <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DLhtUlDMJ-O/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram post</a> caption on Monday.

The “Sex and the City” spinoff Max series “And Just Like That” is getting some negative reactions from a storyline it added featuring Rosie O’Donnell playing a nun named Mary who loses her virginity to Miranda (Cynthia Nixon).
The episode “Outlook Good,” which premiered on Thursday, included the story of Miranda meeting a tourist named Mary (O’Donnell) at a lesbian bar in New York City. The women decide to head to Mary’s hotel room to engage in sexual activities, per <a href="https://people.com/and-just-like-that-rosie-odonnell-plays-a-virgin-nun-season-3-premiere-11743506">People</a>. 
Mary told Miranda she’s &#8220;amazing.&#8221; 
&#8220;I&#8217;ve never experienced anything like that,&#8221; Mary said. &#8220;Oh, you are really, really something. It felt so, I don&#8217;t know, electric, and yet, still so natural,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;I never dreamed my first time could be both those things.&#8221; 
&#8220;First time?&#8221; Miranda asked. &#8220;So then, this was your first time with a woman?&#8221;
&#8220;This is my first time with anyone. I&#8217;m a virgin. Well, I was a virgin,&#8221; Mary said before revealing that she’s a nun.
Later, Miranda recalls what happened while discussing the incident with her friend Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker). 
&#8220;In my defense, Mary never mentioned she was a nun. And she was dressed like a regular lesbian… In fact, she didn&#8217;t mention it until right after she told me she was a virgin,&#8221; Miranda said. 
&#8220;So, you deflowered the Virgin Mary?&#8221; Carrie joked.

Miranda spent the rest of the episode trying to avoid Mary, who kept trying to contact her. Finally, she said, &#8220;So, I gather you&#8217;re at the beginning of a new journey, and I know how that is because I just got off a crazy chapter myself. But don&#8217;t do anything solely based on what you&#8217;re feeling right now.&#8221; 
&#8220;Don&#8217;t leave God for me,&#8221; Miranda said, to which Mary replied, &#8220;Miranda, I would never leave God. We&#8217;re married.”
Reactions to the episode focused on O’Donnell’s involvement and the cringeworthy factor of the storyline.

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell said she was “shocked” that Ellen DeGeneres moved out of the United States when Donald Trump was re-elected.
O&#8217;Donnell defected to Europe for political reasons, but didn’t think DeGeneres would do the same.
“I’ve never really known Ellen to say anything political in her life, so I was surprised to read that she left because of President Trump. Like, that shocked me, actually,” O’Donnell told <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/rosie-odonnell-details-ireland-move-and-connection-with-ellen/">US Weekly</a> in a recently published interview. “I’ve been a political person my whole life, not better or worse, it’s just a different way to be in the world.&#8221;
The “Ellen” show host and Portia de Rossi moved to the English countryside last year and have sold most of their properties in the U.S., according to <a href="https://people.com/rosie-o-donnell-shocked-ellen-degeneres-relocated-uk-11720749" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>, but still have at least one home that requires them to retain a “chicken sitter.” 
Meanwhile, O’Donnell has been posting updates on TikTok about her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rosie-odonnell-discusses-move-to-ireland-with-nonbinary-child-will-return-when-it-is-safe?author=Amanda+Harding&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Rosie+O%E2%80%99Donnell+Discusses+Move+To+Ireland+With+%E2%80%98Nonbinary%E2%80%99+Child%2C+Will+Return+%E2%80%98When+It+Is+Safe%E2%80%99">reasons for leaving</a>, which mostly have to do with concerns regarding her transgender-identifying child. She and Trump also have an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/art-of-the-feud-donald-trump-and-rosie-odonnells-beef-goes-way-back">ongoing feud</a> from years back.
“I was very clear about the reason why I was leaving, and I don’t think it came as a surprise to anyone,” O’Donnell told the outlet about her move to Ireland. She also referenced a former feud with DeGeneres, saying, “We’re not really in each other’s worlds, and it’s been kind of awkward but you know what? I wish her the best. I wish that she has peace and love in her life and that she is OK.”
“I don’t want to fight against another gay woman,” she added. “It’s not like we’re tenaciously opposed to each other. We’re just very different people. We have had some stuff in the past that we never resolved. And not in any way as, as partners or lovers or anything like that, just as friends and comedians, but I wish her the best. I seriously do.” 
O’Donnell discussed what happened between them during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” in 2022. &#8220;We had a little bit of a weird thing,” the comedian said at the time. &#8220;Larry King was on with Ellen and he said &#8216;What ever happened to Rosie O&#8217;Donnell? Her show went down the tubes! She came out as a lesbian and disappeared!'&#8221;
&#8220;And Ellen said, and I&#8217;m quoting, &#8216;I don&#8217;t know Rosie. We&#8217;re not friends,'&#8221; she continued.
O’Donnell said in 2023 that DeGeneres apologized after it happened. She also noted how it hurt because they had known each other for “years” when DeGeneres claimed not to know her. 
“She wrote, ‘I’m really sorry, and I don’t remember that.’ I guess she saw me talk about it on Andy Cohen’s show,” she told <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/feature/rosie-odonnell-ellen-madonna-trump-queer-spotlight-1235514496/">The Hollywood Reporter</a>. “I remembered it so well, I had T-shirts printed and I gave them to my staff that said ‘I don’t know Rosie. We’re not friends.”

Rosie O’Donnell isn’t the only celebrity to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exit-stage-left-celebrities-fleeing-trump-and-x">defect from the United States</a> after Donald Trump was re-elected president. But out of all the famous faces who have turned their back on America because of a political leader they don’t like, O’Donnell does have the longest-running public feud with the current commander-in-chief.
As Trump and O’Donnell trade barbs back and forth even now, it’s helpful to go back in time and figure out how their beef began.
Their first public altercation happened close to two decades ago in 2006 when Trump, as co-owner of the Miss USA pageant, decided not to fire Miss USA Tara Conner after it was discovered that she had a history of drug use, underage drinking, and sexual activities, which violated the rules of the competition. 
At the time, O’Donnell was a panelist on “The View” and made comments about the decision, and then took aim at Trump personally. The comedian said Trump went bankrupt and was not a “self made man.” She described him as a “snake oil salesman on ‘Little House on the Prairie.’”
&#8220;He annoys me on a multitude of levels,” O’Donnell said on the show. “[He] left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair, had kids both times, but he&#8217;s the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Donald, sit and spin, my friend. I don&#8217;t enjoy him.&#8221;
Trump fired back, telling <a href="https://people.com/all-about-rosie-odonnell-donald-trump-feud-11702390">People</a> at the time, “You can’t make false statements. Rosie will rue the words she said,” specifically targeting claims that he went personally bankrupt, as Trump only ever declared corporate bankruptcy. “I’ll most likely sue her for making those false statements – and it’ll be fun. Rosie’s a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie.”
O’Donnell left “The View” the following year after having a conflict with fellow panelist Elisabeth Hasselbeck — a conflict in which Trump actually took her side. However, the two of them continued their feud mostly on social media for years after their first major spat.
When the “A League of Their Own” actress announced her engagement to Michelle Rounds in 2011, Trump again made his thoughts known. 
“I feel sorry for Rosie &#8216;s new partner in love whose parents are devastated at the thought of their daughter being with @Rosie — a true loser,” he <a href="https://x.com/realDonaldTrump/status/146994336670822400">wrote</a> at the time. 
O’Donnell responded by calling Trump an “a**.”
Two years later, he <a href="https://metro.co.uk/2025/03/25/rosie-odonnells-brutal-takedown-donald-trump-led-a-vicious-20-year-feud-22790469/">said</a> in a reply to another person on X that their feud “will never end.”
In 2014, Trump tweeted, “Rosie is crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb – other than that I like her very much!”
The pair sparred back and forth several times on X over the years. But it wasn’t all bitterness. In 2012 after O’Donnell suffered a heart attack, Trump tweeted, “Rosie, get better fast. I’m starting to miss you!”
She replied by saying, “well thank u donald &#8211; i must admit ur post was a bit of a shock … r u trying to kill me ?”
The comedian discussed their ongoing feud during a 2014 <a href="https://people.com/health/rosie-odonnell-on-weight-loss-surgery-the-view-cohost-talks-losing-50-lbs/">interview</a> with People, saying, “Probably the Trump stuff was the most bullying I ever experienced in my life, including as a child.”
“It was national, and it was sanctioned societally,” she added. “Whether I deserved it is up to your own interpretation.” This referenced how many social media users pointed out how O’Donnell started the back-and-forth with the comments she made on “The View.” 
Any hopes of the two reaching a truce ended when Trump ran for president in 2015. The presidential candidate kept mentioning O&#8217;Donnell during his campaign, like during the first Republican presidential primary debate in August 2015 when former Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked him about some of the more colorful language he uses to describe people.
“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” Trump retorted.
Trump mentioned his nemesis again during a debate against his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton. &#8220;Somebody who has been very vicious to me, Rosie O’Donnell, I said very tough things to her and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her,&#8221; he said.
O&#8217;Donnell responded in a post on X which she later deleted, calling Trump an &#8220;orange anus.&#8221;  In September 2016, she tweeted, “HE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT.”
The comedian lamented Trump winning the presidency during a 2017 <a href="https://www.wmagazine.com/story/rosie-odonnell-smilf-showtime-new-donald-trump-interview">interview</a> with W Magazine.
“It has taken me a full year to integrate the reality of him being a president in a way that I don’t come across as either so full of rage that no one can hear my words, or so sad that I can’t articulate the level of pain,&#8221; she O’Donnell told the outlet. &#8220;It’s taken a year for me to get my equilibrium back, to come back up to the surface.”
She continued, “I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through [his presidency] and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive. It’s a terrifying concept, on the brink of nuclear war with a madman in charge.”
At another point in the interview, O’Donnell complained that no one spoke up in her defense during the years-long feud.
“Unbeknownst to me, for reasons I can’t really still figure out, he was allowed with impunity to brutally assault me and my character for a decade,” she told the outlet. “No one – not the National Organization For Women, not Gloria Steinem, no one – stood up and said, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ It was laughed about.”
She continued, “When it was only me in that arena, it was a very lonely, isolated and depressing place to be. Even though [people say], ‘Oh you started it,’ well I actually told the truth about him on a show where my job was to talk about pop culture.”
Fast forward to almost a decade later and O’Donnell is once again forced to live in a world where Trump was elected president. Only this time, she decided to flee the country and apply to become a citizen of Ireland. 
The 63-year-old TV personality said part of the reason she defected to Europe after Trump’s big comeback was because she has a “non-binary” child who needs to be protected.
O’Donnell also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rosie-odonnell-discusses-move-to-ireland-with-nonbinary-child-will-return-when-it-is-safe">talked about</a> being on her way to getting her Irish citizenship thanks to having Irish grandparents.
During a nine minute TikTok posted earlier this month, the celebrity mentioned how “proud and impressed” she is of her daughter Clay adjusting to their move. O’Donnell said, “It’s not easy to move to another country, and we really felt as a family this was the safest and best thing for us to do.”
“It looks like sadly we were correct for what’s happening in the United States is overwhelmingly depressing, unconstitutional, illegal, criminal, and so, so very sad,” she added. “Let’s hope that the world and the nation rallies against the current administration and their horrific ideas for what will make America great again. And it’s not racism. And it’s not homophobia. And it’s equality for all. That’s what we’re promised as American citizens.”
“I feel healthier, I’m sleeping better without the stress and anxiety over what was happening politically in the country,” she said of the United States.
Next, O’Donnell addressed the “feud.” 
“I knew that it would really tax me emotionally to have to do that,” she said of continuing to live in the country while Trump was president. “So I’m very happy that we made the decision that we made.”
The comedian has previously spoken about how her youngest child is a “nonbinary, beautiful human.”
Irish Taoiseach [Prime Minister] Micheál Martin visited the White House in March. A reporter asked him, “Ireland is known for very happy, fun-loving people. Why in the world would you let Rosie O’Donnell move to Ireland? I think she is going to lower your happiness.”
Before Martin could answer, President Trump chimed in saying, “That’s true, I like that question. Do you know you have Rosie O’Donnell? Do you know who she is? You’re better off not knowing.”

The comedian said she responded with a joke about how they should “look down” the “next time they’re in the bathtub.”
Clay allegedly replied, “Mommy, that’s their sex. That’s binary. I’m talking about their gender. And gender is infinite.”
“I am supportive of any way they want to be in this world and feel connected and happy,” O’Donnell told NBC Chicago at the time.
O&#8217;Donnell is one of several celebrities who has a child who identifies as LGBTQ. In 2023, O’Donnell said she told her daughter that you can be a girl and still “like all the boy stuff” during a conversation about gender identity, adding that she was a “tomboy” who “loved being a girl.”
