Robert De Niro appeared to invoke President Donald Trump&#8217;s second term Wednesday while warning that Americans risk repeating history if they forget the lessons of September 11, seemingly equating post-9/11 national trauma with living under Trump&#8217;s second term.
Appearing on CBS Mornings to hawk his new Netflix documentary &#8220;Tribeca 25,&#8221; the 83-year-old Hollywood veteran attempted to draw a direct line between the darkest day in modern American history and the current political landscape.
Host Gayle King asked De Niro whom he hoped would watch the documentary, adding, “Because I think it&#8217;s so important that we keep telling this story, because it breaks my heart when I hear people don&#8217;t fully grasp how devastating that was.”
“Well, yes, it&#8217;s also because kids and my kids — my teenage daughter doesn&#8217;t really understand,” he replied. “It just shows how if you don&#8217;t remind people what happened so recently, they&#8217;re going to forget. Generations that we&#8217;re in that situation right now with the whole political situation, because people forget what happened.”
De Niro&#8217;s reference to the current &#8216;political situation&#8217; may have been aimed at Trump. The actor has spent years publicly warning about Trump and comparing his presidency to authoritarian governments.

De Niro’s obsession with Trump is well-documented. At the 2018 Tony Awards, De Niro shocked viewers by taking the stage and shouting &#8220;F*ck Trump,&#8221; earning a standing ovation from Broadway elites but swift backlash from heartland audiences.
At the 2019 American Icon Awards, while presenting an honor to long-time co-star Al Pacino, De Niro hijacked the podium to demand Trump&#8217;s &#8220;impeachment and imprisonment.&#8221; The Hollywood crowd met his rant with a chorus of loud boos and uncomfortable groans.
At the 2020 SAG Awards, accepting a lifetime achievement award, De Niro brushed off advice from comedians like Ricky Gervais to skip the politics, instead <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/robert-de-niro-blasts-president-trump-in-yet-another-awards-speech">launching into a lecture</a> on &#8220;abuse of power&#8221; and the &#8220;dire&#8221; political environment.
During a 2024 appearance on &#8220;The View,” ABC producers were forced to repeatedly cut De Niro&#8217;s microphone after he <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/robert-de-niros-anti-trump-rant-is-so-obscene-the-view-has-to-cut-his-mic">launched</a> into an unhinged, profanity-laced tirade comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, warning that Trump&#8217;s return to the Oval Office could produce &#8220;civil strife.&#8221;
Trump has rarely let the actor&#8217;s barbs go unanswered, previously mocking De Niro as a &#8220;very low IQ individual&#8221; who had taken &#8220;too many shots to the head by real boxers in movies.&#8221;
The Wednesday exchange was more oblique. But coming from one of Trump&#8217;s most persistent celebrity critics, De Niro&#8217;s reference to the country&#8217;s &#8220;political situation&#8221; appeared to turn a discussion about preserving the memory of 9/11 into just another attack on President Trump.

According to the Daily Mail, Byron Noem, the husband of former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, has been secretly posting pictures of himself online wearing women’s hot pink underwear and enormous fake breasts. Kristi Noem said she was absolutely devastated to discover her husband was a Democrat, but she did feel that this might explain how she could sleep with Corey Lewandowski and consider it an upgrade. President Trump said he felt sorry for the Noem family, although he congratulated Byron on having such a nice rack.
Champion philanderer Tiger Woods, while apparently under the influence of drugs and alcohol, rolled his car over, after clipping a truck. Woods told police his life was full of so much sex and success and money that only abusing substances could keep him from sinking into despair. He was charged with three counts of driving while being an ungrateful schmuck.

Shapely, semi-attractive Australian actress Milly Alcock has been cast to star in the $300 million DC studio film &#8220;Supergirl.&#8221; Alcock told Vanity Fair that the role “definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on. We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies.” 
The comment won Alcock the coveted Rachel Zegler award — a bronze statuette of a mouth without a brain attached, that is given to the shapely, semi-attractive actress most likely to tank a studio’s investment while under the delusion that people want to hear her opinions. Medical experts say this delusion is often brought on by men telling women they are interested in their opinions and women thinking that means men are interested in their opinions.
Robert De Niro, Bruce Springsteen and Jane Fonda were among the thousands of doddering old white people who shuffled out to the latest &#8220;No Kings&#8221; rallies, which must’ve been held to celebrate the fact that we have no kings, because otherwise they just don’t make any sense. De Niro and Springsteen got together to reminisce about how they made millions of dollars by simply saying a meaningless phrase over and over again, like “You talking to me?” or “Born in the USA.” Springsteen said he could not believe that Boomers had been gullible enough to pay them for doing something so monotonous, but it gave him hope that Boomers might also be stupid enough to take the &#8220;No Kings&#8221; rallies seriously.
Black, gay, transgender actor Billy Porter was also at a &#8220;No Kings&#8221; rally, where he complained that black, gay, transgender actors are having a hard time finding work because — Donald Trump. Personally, I find this story kind of confusing. I mean, if you’re transgender and gay, isn’t that the same as being straight? Like, Billy Porter is a man who thinks he’s a woman, but he’s gay, so he’s a woman attracted to other women, so he’s really just a man who’s attracted to women. In which case, it seems possible the reason Billy Porter can’t find work isn’t because Donald Trump but because Billy Porter is an irritating no-talent.
Finally, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the Senate got to go on vacation to rest up after grueling weeks of doing absolutely nothing. Graham was later photographed wandering around Disney World’s Fantasyland with a Little Mermaid Bubble Wand. Lest anyone get the impression Graham is a sad old queen who wanders around Fantasyland with a bubble wand, the senator immediately issued a macho photograph of himself firing a shotgun. The Little Mermaid’s slug-riddled body was subsequently found in a pool of her own bubbles.
Fantasyland Police are still searching for Graham and, in fact, for the rest of the Senate, hoping to bring them back to Washington D.C. where they can pass intelligent, useful legislation. Because this is Fantasyland.

Actor Robert De Niro, who is afflicted with one of the worst cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome on record, is now crying about Trump’s presidency and insisting he will “never” be gone.
The 82-year-old celeb said as much during an appearance on MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace’s podcast “The Best People.&#8221;
&#8220;People have to resist, resist, resist, resist, resist. That&#8217;s the only way. There&#8217;s no magic. There&#8217;s no nothing – people are not going to go away, even if Trump dies for some reason by having an illness or something,&#8221; De Niro said. &#8220;Parts of that movement are still there, and that&#8217;s the scary part. It has to be neutralized by the people.&#8221;

He also called Trump an “idiot” and said, “We got to get rid of him … he’s gonna ruin the country. Everything that this country has worked for and represents.”
At another point, Wallace mentioned a speech the actor gave in 1981 about “lifting people up,” which prompted the actor to bring the conversation back to politics.
&#8220;You have to,&#8221; De Niro said as the tears flowed. &#8220;You have to lift people up. You have to bring them together. Period. You can&#8217;t divide people. You can&#8217;t win that way. It&#8217;s a no-win situation.&#8221;
&#8220;And look, what we have. Look who we have there,” he went on. “It&#8217;s almost like our destiny to have this thing they&#8217;re destroying — attempting to destroy this country and maybe not even understanding why. So it&#8217;s up to us to protect the country.&#8221;
&#8220;All I know is people have to resist, resist, resist, resist,” he repeated. “There&#8217;s no easy way. It&#8217;s not going to come to you easy. You know, there&#8217;s a time when you know in your own life and your own survival, you better do this, you better jump and run through the fire. Because if you don&#8217;t run through the fire, you&#8217;re not getting out, and that&#8217;s what we have to do.&#8221;
In the past, De Niro has made every possible criticism of Trump, insinuating that he’s a “Nazi” and questioning his humanity.

Actor Robert De Niro was so sincere in his hatred for President Donald Trump that he apparently brought MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace to tears — and choked up a little himself — during a recent interview.
De Niro was speaking with Wallace for an episode of her podcast, &#8220;The Best People with Nicolle Wallace,&#8221; and he reduced himself to tears as he first claimed that he was always going to be about &#8220;lifting people up&#8221; and then almost immediately complained about &#8220;this thing&#8221; currently running the country.

After a brief pause, he pushed ahead, still working to keep his composure: &#8220;You have to. You have to lift people up. You have to bring them together. Period. You can’t divide people. You can’t win that way. It’s a no-win situation.&#8221;
&#8220;And look what we have. Look who we have there,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;It’s almost like a destiny to have this thing there attempting to destroy this country and maybe not even understanding why. So it’s up to us to protect the country.&#8221;
&#8220;That we love?&#8221; Wallace prompted.
&#8220;Yes,&#8221; De Niro replied.
Wallace, who did not appear to be crying, added, &#8220;You weren’t supposed to make me cry. Thank you so much. Thank you for this. We talked about how this is the moment, this is the moment that it goes one way or the other. Is it going the other way?&#8221;
&#8220;I don’t know. All I know is people have to have to resist, resist, resist,&#8221; De Niro declared. &#8220;There’s no easy way. It’s not going to come to you easy. They’ve weighed in on ICE arrests, the overthrow of Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro, and the Epstein Files. Just once or one thousand times.
But why? If their endorsements and social media posts aren’t moving the electoral needle, why bother sharing them in the first place? Aren’t they hurting their own cause?
For one, it’s the ultimate virtue signal in a relentlessly progressive industry. Sharing the “correct” views will never hurt one’s career, even if the average movie or TV fan cringes in response.
That’s hardly the only reason. These missives could actually help their careers at a critical time.
Hollywood jobs have rarely been this insecure. Theatrical attendance is shrinking. Major streaming platforms are struggling to make ends meet. Late-night TV is going the way of the pager and the 8-track tape. Quality films often come and go without so much as denting the pop culture zeitgeist, even with the biggest stars attached.
Last year, a gangster flick with not one but two Robert De Niro performances <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt21815562/?ref_=bo_se_r_1">earned $6 million at the domestic box office.</a>
For stars, spouting off about “Gestapo”-style ICE agents is a way to signal to fellow progressives. I’m like you. I vote like you do. And, if you happen to know of an upcoming gig, please keep me in mind.
Consider it virtual networking. Chances are, it works more often than it doesn’t.
Plus, legacy media outlets love sharing progressive stars and their political missives. The aforementioned Mr. De Niro rages against President Trump early and often, a real dog-bites-man news story.
Yet every time he does so, it inspires a fresh wave of news articles. Most, if not all, publicity is good publicity.

In the dog-eat-dog world of Tinsel Town, every advantage should be taken to secure future work. It explains why prominent liberal stars like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck just sat down with Joe Rogan for the comic’s rebel podcast. The stars may still be mad about Rogan endorsing Trump at the end of the 2024 presidential election. Or, they could resent Rogan’s subversive take on the COVID shot that their friends and neighbors insisted everyone take … or else.
And yet, they still understand if they want more eyeballs on their new Netflix original film, “The Rip,” they’d better hide those hard feelings and make nice with the former “Fear Factor” host.
Progressive stars still won’t drop by the set of Fox News’ “Gutfeld!” They don’t need to promote their films and TV shows that badly, apparently.
The secret to their political commentary? Supporting the right, or approved, causes. Anything that smacks of an anti-Trump sentiment is held dear to their hearts. The stars stayed silent during the worst woke cancellations. They ignored the rise of sensitivity readers influencing what words can and can’t be shared in fiction.
No anti-Trump or anti-GOP angle to exploit.
Yet when Jimmy Kimmel got suspended for insinuating MAGA Nation killed Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, they rose up en masse to protect Kimmel’s “free speech” rights, presuming without evidence that President Trump had benched the far-Left broadcaster.
The lack of a Trumpian angle may explain why the Israeli women who endured brutal sexual assaults, and worse, during the October 7 atrocities didn’t get support from Hollywood’s MeToo activists.
More recently, Hollywood gathered for the latest Golden Globes soiree as Iranian protesters squared off against their tyrannical government. Once again, the Hollywood elite couldn’t spare a syllable to support those risking their lives for freedom.
After all, President Trump had the Iranian people’s back, so it wasn’t worth sticking their neck out to support the cause.
There are always exceptions to the political celebrity rule. Two recent examples spring to mind.

Actor Billy Bob Thornton of “Landman” fame told Joe Rogan last November that you won’t find him <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/billy-bob-thornton-talks-hollywood-politics-with-joe-rogan">lecturing fans</a> from any awards show podium.
“I’m very strong in my opinions, but my opinions don’t belong to any political party. I just look at what makes sense, and I think we need a common sense party in this country. That’s actually what I think we need. Just figure it out. It’s pretty easy to figure out what this is all about.”
And Claire Foy went from admonishing President Trump several years ago to declaring <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/actress-claire-foy-trump-political-opinions/">politics off limits</a> in her promotional efforts.
“What I believe and who I am and where I stand on things is constantly in flux, as much as it is for everyone else, and I have absolutely no authority to discuss or proclaim about anything other than what I do as an actor.

What do you call seven million old white people gathering all over the country?
Not a Barry Manilow reunion tour.
It is, of course, the “No Kings” rallies, which happened over the course of Saturday with seven million protesters, nearly all of them members of the AARP, gathering around the nation in order to protest kings.
You may have noticed we don&#8217;t have kings here in the United States. We have a constitutional republic.
No matter what you think of Donald Trump, Donald Trump has been subject to the dictates of Congress. He has been subject to the dictates of courts. There are actual laws and regulations on the books that prevent the president of the United States from instituting tyrannical power over the rest of the country.
One of the most amusing things about these “No Kings” rallies is the supposition by the Left that they stand in opposition to grand expansions of executive power.
That is absolute bull. It is nonsense. I&#8217;m old enough to remember Barack Obama. I&#8217;m old enough to remember Joe Biden, who tried to use the Occupational Safety and Health Organization in order to cram down vaccine mandates on 80 million Americans, and our company had to sue to stop him.
I remember President Biden telling the Supreme Court that while they were attempting to stop him from getting rid of student loans, he would circumvent them and find another way to do it.
The idea that these people who are opposed to Donald Trump do so to oppose expanded executive power is ridiculous. It is the Democratic Party in the United States which has, writ large, expanded the power of the executive branch wholesale over the course of the last century. Since Woodrow Wilson, the expansion of the executive branch of government has been nonstop. It has sometimes been paused under some Republicans, but it is rarely reversed.
When it comes to the modern Democratic Party, the idea that they want to delegate power back to the states or delegate power back to Congress is a lie. As soon as a Democrat is in power, they simply want to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States.
Thus the very premise of these “No Kings” rallies is false.

Left-wing Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/10/18/no-kings-protests-october-18-turnout">reported</a>:  “According to a statement from the ‘No Kings’ protest organizers, Saturday&#8217;s turnout was ‘one of the largest single-day demonstrations in U.S. history’ with over two million more people taking part than participated in similar protests in June of this year.”
Of course, you remember how much of a difference it made when they protested in June.
You don&#8217;t? You forgot already?
You forgot already because it didn&#8217;t matter at all. It is now Monday and everyone already forgot.
“More than 2,700 events were planned as part of the protests across 50 states as of Saturday, as well as several internationally, including in London, Paris, Rome and Lisbon, Portugal.”
I get a kick out of places that actually have kings saying that they&#8217;re going to have “No Kings” rallies.
These rallies are ridiculous. If you look at the pictures of people who are dressed up as lobsters in Massachusetts or Superman in New York City or inflatable chickens, you think to yourself, “I don&#8217;t think these are the folks who are going to change America in any real way.”

And that&#8217;s putting aside the people who arrived at these rallies in order to promote violence against the president of the United States, or against people on the right-wing. Those people were in plentiful supply. Politicians showed up. They spoke alongside radical agitators and organizers.
We&#8217;re all supposed to pretend that that never happened, speaking alongside terrorist supporters, people who despise the country. If you&#8217;re a politician, like Bernie Sanders or Chris Murphy from Connecticut, and you speak alongside Qatari mouthpiece Mehdi Hasan, or you speak alongside people who have openly promoted terrorism, that&#8217;s kind of a big deal.
My favorite moment of media coverage came when MSNBC <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/media/tv/msnbc-interviews-a-unicorn-and-bear-at-no-kings-rally-looking-as-ridiculous-as-we-can-to-protest-ridiculous-trump/">interviewed</a> a person dressed up as a unicorn.
(A rally is truly serious when people dress up as inflatable unicorns.)

Unicorn: Well, we&#8217;re here to represent the loving, hardworking community of Los Angeles. We&#8217;re here peacefully protesting, looking as ridiculous as we can, just so maybe we appeal to the president because he is a ridiculous leader that is normalizing abuse of power, and we cannot stand and act like nothing is happening.
Reporter: I&#8217;ve never heard a more serious message come out of a pink unicorn.</blockquote>
I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s true because I think that half of the MSNBC staff are pink unicorns.
It was an impressive showing, with great intellects. People like actor John Cusack, who was last relevant when he was standing outside a bedroom window holding a boombox in a movie from 1989.
But if you thought that Cusack was the only old actor who showed up to pay tribute to the “No Kings” rally, I present to you: (drum roll) Robert De Niro, who seems to have chosen poorly when he drank from his choice of Holy Grails. He is now aging extraordinarily rapidly and also apparently turning into a hobbit.
He praised Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, for saying F.U. to Trump, (which she may be saying from jail soon, depending on how her mortgage falsification case goes).
“I like what Letitia James is doing,” he declared “She&#8217;s fighting back. She&#8217;s saying F*** you. &#8230; I will not be taken down by this person. I am not afraid of him.” He also had comments about Stephen Miller, calling Miller, who happens to be Jewish, a Nazi.
Bernie Sanders yelled, “We&#8217;re here because we&#8217;re going to do everything we can to honor the sacrifices of millions of men and women who, over the last 250 years, fought and sometimes died.”
I can&#8217;t take him seriously. Nothing you do can make me take him seriously, because he&#8217;s not a serious person. The fact that the Democratic Party has elevated him as an ideological thought leader after spending his entire life being a useless pustule on the ass of American society is indeed a reflection of what their party stands for.
Sanders spoke of how much these people loved America.
Yet there were a shocking number of non-American flags over the Washington, DC rally. There was a giant Palestinian flag in solidarity with Hamas, of course. In Los Angeles there were tons of Mexican flags, so many that the CNN reporter noted it.
Senator Ed Markey from Massachusetts decided that he was going to give a speech while donning a trans flag. J.B. Pritzker, the would-be presidential candidate from Illinois (who typically has to be lowered into these things by crane) stood in front of a bunch of signs, including a F*** ICE sign.
For the sake of his bodily health, I hope it was a very short march.
A Barry Manilow reunion tour would have been a heck of a lot less screechy.

Actor Robert De Niro had a full-scale meltdown over President Donald Trump, going so far as questioning if he was even human.
The 82-year-old made an appearance on the MSNBC show “The Weekend” on Sunday to voice support for the nationwide &#8220;No Kings&#8221; demonstrations, which were very popular with his age demographic, and urge followers to keep protesting against Trump.
&#8220;We can&#8217;t let up,&#8221; De Niro said. &#8220;We cannot let up because [Trump] is not going to leave the White House. He does not want to leave the White House; he will not leave the White House. Anybody who thinks, &#8216;Oh, he&#8217;ll do this, he&#8217;ll do that,&#8217; is just deluding themselves.&#8221;

“We see it all the time—[Trump] will not want to leave,” he went on. “He set it up with, I guess he’s the Goebbels of the cabinet, Stephen Miller.”
“He’s a Nazi,” the actor continued, comparing Miller, who is Jewish, to Adolf Hitler’s chief Nazi propagandist, Joseph Goebbels. “Yes, he is, and he should be ashamed of himself.”
Trump did mention seeking a third term in the past, but more recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reveals-who-will-most-likely-be-the-2028-republican-nominee">stated</a> that Vice President JD Vance is “most likely” going to be the Republican Party’s 2028 presidential nominee.
&#8220;I&#8217;m looking to having four great years and turn it over to somebody, ideally a great Republican, to carry it forward,&#8221; he said in August.

During the MSNBC segment over the weekend, De Niro whined that Trump was a “bully” and advocated for pushing him out of office.
&#8220;Trump does not understand anything about humanity,&#8221; the “Raging Bull” star said. &#8220;He has no empathy. I don&#8217;t know what he is, but he&#8217;s an alien, and he wants to hurt this country. It&#8217;s something deeply psychological in him. He wants to hurt people.&#8221;
De Niro has been suffering from a severe case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) for some time. “I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was,” Trump said in a Truth Social post at the time. “Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA.”

Robert De Niro’s son, Airyn (formerly Aaron), says he identifies as a transgender woman in a newly published interview with the &#8220;LGBTQ+&#8221;-themed outlet Them.
The 29-year-old is one of De Niro’s seven children with four different women.  
Airyn also has a twin brother, Julian. Their mother is actress Toukie Smith. 
“There’s a difference between being visible and being seen,” Airyn, who is biracial, <a href="https://www.them.us/story/airyn-de-niro-coming-out-trans-visibility-robert-de-niro-daughter-interview">told</a> the outlet. “I’ve been visible. I don’t think I’ve been seen yet.”
Airyn also discussed recent media coverage, claiming it had portrayed him incorrectly. He especially took issue with being called a “nepo baby” in some headlines. “They just sort of reminded me that people really don’t know anything about me.”
“I wasn’t brought up having a side part in one of dad’s movies or going to business meetings or attending premieres. My dad was very big on us finding our own sort of path&#8230; I would want [success] to happen on my own merit,” Airyn said. 
“Obviously, no parent is perfect, but I am grateful that both my parents agreed to keep me out of the limelight,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They have told me they wanted me to have as much of a normal childhood as possible.”
Airyn also talked about being a “late bloomer.”
“I was always told I was too much of something or not enough of something growing up: Too big, not skinny enough. Not black enough, not white enough. Too feminine, not masculine enough,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It was never just, ‘You’re just right, just the way you are.’” 
Airyn said it was “the influence black women have had on me” that led him to start hormone therapy last November. The article&#8217;s author noted that the &#8220;turning point&#8221; in Airyn&#8217;s transition occurred after seeing the live-action remake of Disney&#8217;s &#8220;The Little Mermaid&#8221; and deciding to get braids.
“I’d want to hopefully be an inspiration for at least one other person like me who is black, who is queer, who’s not a size extra small,” Airyn told the outlet. “I’d want to see more trans women, more black women who are maybe bigger-bodied or don’t fit the mold of super thin or heroin chic.”
Social media comments focused on how many celebrity children identify as transgender and noted how many didn’t have fathers in the home.
“Desperately seeking attention since he never received any from his dad. Just sad,” one commenter <a href="https://x.com/chewsonit/status/1917382860799095261">wrote</a>.
Another <a href="https://x.com/RedPoppy222/status/1917374964572844476">wondered</a>, “What are celebrities doing to their children?”
“It&#8217;s almost like these celebrities are training their kids to be trans,” another commenter <a href="https://x.com/imgufftastic/status/1917538358311674340">observed</a>.

“The Sopranos” star Drea de Matteo slammed fellow Italians <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fauci-on-the-view-joins-the-ladies-bashing-trump-calls-detractors-bastards">Dr. Anthony Fauci</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-de-niro">Robert De Niro</a> on national television on Monday night, saying she’s “mortified by my people.&#8221; 
During the 52-year-old actress’ appearance on “<a href="https://rumble.com/v53k1wr-sopranos-star-claims-hollywood-is-full-of-quiet-trump-voters.html">Jesse Watters Primetime</a>,” Matteo called out Hollywood’s support for President Joe Biden after a video montage played showing several celeb endorsements, and she was asked if there’s a “quiet Trump voter out there in Hollywood.” 
“I think there is a lot of them. I think there are a lot of — that was a hard intro to watch. I’m sorry,” de Matteo said, laughing, <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/entertainment/sopranos-star-drea-de-matteo-tells-foxs-jesse-watters-there-are-a-lot-of-quiet-hollywood-trump-voters/">referencing the video montage,</a> which included <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/robert-de-niro-loses-award-following-trump-courthouse-rant" target="_blank" rel="noopener">De Niro ranting about Trump</a> outside a New York City courthouse.

Yes, there are a lot of quiet Trump supporters, there are a lot of [Robert F.] Kennedy [Jr.] supporters.&#8221;

The host then asked how it would work, suggesting actors possibly couldn’t get just get paid cash and that it might have to be more of a “silent deal like, ‘Oh, we’ll give you this next role or you know we’ll get you a book deal.’ Is it something like that, or an appearance fee?”
“I don’t know. I don’t really maneuver inside that industry. I never have,” the actress replied.  “First of all, ‘Sopranos,’ we were the outcasts, even though we were the critically acclaimed, we still were outcasts.”

De Matteo recently made <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sopranos-star-says-biden-administration-has-been-used-to-divide-people">headlines</a> when she said that the Biden administration has been used to “divide people” and called the focus on left-wing issues a distraction from more important matters.
Speaking recently to Fox News’ “<a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/sopranos-star-says-biden-presidency-vessel-divide-us-comments-hollywoods-fear-roil-critics?utm_campaign=later-linkinbio-foxnews&amp;utm_content=later-42816985&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=linkin.bio">The Story,</a>” the “Desperate Housewives” actress said others in Hollywood fear that if they speak out about Biden being a divisive leader, something will happen to them personally.
“Life imitating art, just for speaking out to the feds or whatever, you know?” de Matteo said, referencing her character&#8217;s end on the hit show.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/robert-de-niro">Robert De Niro</a> will no longer be receiving an award at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) annual event following his rant outside the courthouse against former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">President Donald Trump</a> — just before a New York jury found Trump guilty.
The NAB had planned to celebrate the 80-year-old actor on Tuesday with its Service To America Award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., but instead has pulled the recognition because the group said it is “proudly bi-partisan,” the <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/4694239-broadcasters-de-niro-award-trump-courthouse-hush-money-trial/">Hill</a> reported.
“While we strongly support the right of every American to exercise free speech and participate in civic engagement, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s recent high-profile activities will create a distraction from the philanthropic work that we were hoping to recognize,” a spokesperson for the NAB wrote in a statement. “To maintain the focus on service of the award winners, Mr. De Niro will no longer be attending the event.”
Taking a look on the NAB <a href="https://servicetoamericaawards.org/winners/default.asp">website</a>, De Niro’s name and picture is not listed as one of this year’s winners.

Following news of the award being rescinded, De Niro told the outlet that he wished them well.
“I support the work of the NAB Leadership Foundation and would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for what the Foundation has done and will continue to do for the good of us all, and I wish them well for their continued good work,” the “Goodfellas” star said.
Before Trump was convicted in the Hush-Money trial, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-campaign-taps-robert-de-niro-to-rant-against-trump-outside-ny-trial-us-govt-will-perish">De Niro</a> railed against the former president and his supporters during a President Joe Biden campaign event outside the New York courthouse as the trial was headed to closing arguments.
“Under Trump, this kind of government will perish from the Earth. I don’t mean to scare you. No, no, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you. If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted,” De Niro said, “And elections? Forget about them. That’s over, that’s done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now, he will never leave. He will never leave. You know that. He will never leave.”
“That’s why I’ve joined the Biden-Harris campaign, because the only way to preserve our freedoms and hold on to our humanity is to vote for Joe Biden for president,” he added. “Really – we don’t have a choice.”
Trump campaign officials characterized the event as an act of desperation by the Biden campaign.

When campaigns are in meltdown, it seems like nothing they touch goes right. There are a lot of symptoms when campaigns are in meltdown; it&#8217;s very difficult for those campaigns to get their own voters back into the fold.
This is obviously true of reelection campaigns. It was true for Jimmy Carter in 1980, who had a really difficult time getting Democrats back in the fold. He barely won the election in 1976 against Gerald Ford, and then he ran against Ronald Reagan and got absolutely walloped.
Joe Biden is now in the middle of a campaign meltdown, which is evident because every story about the Biden campaign is about how he is struggling to win back voters that already should be in his back pocket.
It also means his campaign is now attempting bizarre and sundry tactics in order to gain headlines in the middle of a news cycle that is terrible for him.
In the past few weeks, different articles have been written about how Biden doesn&#8217;t believe the polls. That is a symptom of a campaign that is failing. Telling the media you don&#8217;t believe the polls typically means you&#8217;re losing.
Today, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/05/29/biden-black-voter-strategy-philadelphia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> Biden is launching a new strategy to win black voters. Let&#8217;s be clear about this: The black vote in the United States has gone for the Democrats by extraordinary numbers every single election cycle for the past several decades. Black voters were the key to Biden&#8217;s 2020 win. The numbers for Biden among black voters in 2020 were extraordinary. He got great turnout, particularly in terms of mail-ins, and he got an incredibly high percentage of the vote from black voters in 2020.
But now, Biden is in real trouble, and he&#8217;s having a tough time actually winning back those same black voters. Although 2020 found 92% of the black vote against Donald Trump, polling is currently showing Trump not only in the double digits, but also in the significant double digits among black voters. A recent New York Times/Siena <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/05/13/us/elections/times-siena-poll-registered-voter-crosstabs.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">survey</a> put Biden’s support at 69 to 18 over Trump among blacks.
If Biden is having to campaign for black voters in Philadelphia or Detroit five months from the election, he’s in serious, serious trouble.

That is the first indicator of a campaign that is in meltdown: having to shore up a voting base that has been historically strong for Democrats.
The second indicator is Biden denying the polling data, whistling past the graveyard.
Then, the third indicator is that the Biden campaign is now pulling out the stops on bizarre tactics that are not only unavailing, but they&#8217;re wildly counterproductive.
On Tuesday, Biden&#8217;s campaign showed up to stand outside the courtroom in New York in order to stump for Trump&#8217;s conviction.
Remember, it was considered wildly unpresidential for Trump to sound off on his own trial, where he is currently being tried in court. That was considered out of bounds. How dare he attack the justice system? How dare he intervene in the justice system? Meanwhile, Biden, the actual president of the United States, whose DOJ is presiding over multiple cases against his political opponent, is deploying his campaign to stand outside the courtroom in New York.
That&#8217;s not only unprecedented; it&#8217;s nuts.
It&#8217;s nuts.
It would be nuts enough if he deployed lawyers from his campaign to explain the case in front of the courtroom. That would obviously be deeply problematic considering the president of the United States acts, essentially, as the chief law enforcement officer in the land because he presides over the attorney general who presides over the DOJ. Biden deploying his own legal team outside the courtroom to rip on his political opponent in the middle of a trial is insane.
That’s crazy, but then it got crazier.
They didn&#8217;t just deploy some campaign lawyer to explain the case against Trump. They deployed a celebrity to go outside the trial and hold an event. That is a desperate move.
Who did they trot out on Tuesday? Apparently, they decided to be nimble and creative and trot out the Raging Bulls****er himself, Robert De Niro.
Honestly, I don&#8217;t know who came up with this idea. This is one of the stupidest political ideas I have ever seen in my entire life.

The idea of the Biden campaign apparently was, “We have an unpopular 81-year-old incumbent who falls down a lot and babbles nonsensically. What if we get someone to defend him outside the courtroom where his political opponent is being tried on political grounds? What if we get an 80-year old, half-senile, doddering old man who recently fathered a small baby? Who do we have? That guy.”
And he&#8217;s an actor to boot.
He&#8217;s crazy enough that he spent the last several years going on random TV shows shouting “F Trump!” This is a man who has the credibility of the American people behind him. This is a man who has gravitas.
Three years after the end of COVID, wearing a mask.
De Niro arrived and proceeded to start rambling nonsensically.
This is the stupidest campaign ploy I have ever seen. Ever. It was really dumb in 2016 when Hillary Clinton trotted out a bunch of young actresses to sing “Fight Song” at the Democratic National Convention. It was cloying and annoying. But at least it was understandable in that it was an attempt to bring actual celebrities to do something celebrities do, like sing.
Bringing De Niro, a guy who plays a tough guy in the movies, to show up at the age of 80 and stagger over to a microphone to talk about a criminal trial? What was the logic?
This isn’t even a bank shot. It&#8217;s like one of those old Larry Bird/Michael Jordan commercials. Off the plane, off the house, off the tiger, off the backboard. Swish!

Who thought of this?
Robert “You talkin’ to me” De Niro, an elderly man, basically jabbered, “It&#8217;s no surprise that the murder rate and other violent crimes peaked under Trump and up falling under Biden. And now he&#8217;s promising to use our own military to attack U.S. citizens. That&#8217;s the tyrant.”
Is he talking to me? Is he talking to me? What in the world is he even jabbering about?
The notion that De Niro was going to be the tip of the spear in terms of Biden&#8217;s campaign was crazy. No one takes De Niro seriously. No one.
CNN and MSNBC know that the more they cover Biden, the more likely it is Biden will lose because he is terrible at being president. But the incompetents at the Biden campaign are apparently thinking, “Oh my. Every time I turn on CNN and MSNBC, they&#8217;re just showing Trump’s trial. We can&#8217;t get attention for our amazing campaign. Let&#8217;s get Robert De Niro out there at the age of 80 to babble about tyranny.”
This reeks of desperation.
