Billionaire Tesla owner Elon Musk accused Reuters of lying after the outlet <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-tesla-scraps-low-cost-150726195.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Friday that Tesla scrapped its plans to make low-cost electric vehicles and will focus on developing robo-taxis.
Reuters, which cited multiple anonymous sources and “company messages,” wrote that Tesla was abandoning its promise to begin producing cheaper EVs as soon as 2025. After the report was published, Tesla’s stock <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-05/tesla-plans-to-cancel-low-cost-ev-reuters-report-says?srnd=all" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped</a> by as much as 6.2% before it began to make a small climb back toward where it opened on Friday just shy of $170 per share.
“Reuters is lying (again),” Musk said in reply to a post on his social media platform X.

Later, Musk reposted a chart showing the decrease in Reuters&#8217; monthly and yearly website traffic.
“Reuters is dying,” the Tesla owner <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1776275139010904525" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>.
Since as far back as 2018, billionaire Tesla owner Elon Musk has <a href="https://www.theverge.com/24054854/tesla-next-generation-vehicle-ev-elon-musk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the company would move into making “a $25,000 car,” which has been called the Model 2. In January, the billionaire entrepreneur added that his company was “very far along” in making an affordable car, Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-05/tesla-plans-to-cancel-low-cost-ev-reuters-report-says?srnd=all" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Currently, Tesla’s cheapest vehicle, the Model 3, retails for nearly $40,000 in the U.S. while other EVs in its lineup can cost up to $150,000.
Reuters wrote that “Two sources said they learned of Tesla&#8217;s decision to scrap the Model 2 in a meeting attended by scores of employees, with one of them saying the gathering happened in late February.”
“Elon’s directive is to go all in on robotaxi,” one person said, according to the outlet.

Other car companies, such as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ford-delays-production-of-new-electric-vehicles-by-years-as-consumers-sour-on-evs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ford</a> and <a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/autos/general-motors-gm-q3-earnings-report-2023-5064f4c2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GM</a>, have recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ford-to-slash-planned-production-of-its-all-electric-f-150-in-half-citing-changing-market-demand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scaled back</a> or delayed their plans to produce more EVs as consumer demand has failed to meet expectations while the Biden administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-buttigieg-mocks-people-who-dont-want-electric-vehicles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continues to push</a> Americans to move away from gas-powered cars.
After the Reuters report, Musk also responded with the eyes emoji — often used to draw attention to something — under a post that laid out a potential explanation for the story.
“Elon just said Reuters was lying. However, here is my general thinking. Tesla&#8217;s low-cost $25k car and the Robotaxi were always going to be based on the same platform. They were going to be very similar, but the $25k version was going to have a steering wheel,” wrote Sawyer Merritt, a co-founder of an apparel company.
“Maybe Elon and the team have been so impressed with how good FSD 12 has performed and were maybe thinking they should be shifting even more resources to the Robotaxi/FSD effort,” Merritt added. “This doesn&#8217;t mean the $25k car is canceled. Again, they share the same platform.”

The 13 Israeli nationals who were released from captivity included Shoshan Haran, 67; Adi Shoham, 38; Yahel Shoham, 3; Naveh Shoham, 8; Shiri Weiss, 53; Noga Weiss, 18; Maya Regev, 21; Hila Rotem, 12; Emily Hand, 9; Noam Or, 17; Alma Or, 13; Noam Avigdori, 12; and Sharon Avigdori, 52.
&#8220;Hamas releases 13 more Israeli soldiers and four foreign nationals to the Red Cross in a second exchange,&#8221; Reuters posted on X.
The left-of-center news wire was met with immediate pushback from journalists and commentators from across the political spectrum.

Hamas’ friends in the press have hit upon a new strategy: they are now claiming that Israel is targeting journalists. According to The Washington Post, “For weeks, hundreds of locally based journalists in the Gaza Strip have provided the world with intimate views of the devastation on Palestinian lives and homes – while trying to find ways to survive themselves and keep their families safe.”
Yes, we are told, journalists in Gaza are under assault.
But there is another story here.
Another, far more nefarious story.
That story goes like this: journalists in the Gaza Strip are typically propagandists for Hamas. That is how they got in. That is why they have been allowed to operate. Hamas deliberately places these pseudo-journalists in areas designed to shield Hamas military resources.
That story happens to be true.

Honest Reporting, a 501(c)3 website dedicated to uncovering prejudice in journalism, ran a shocking story. They reported that during the October 7 massacre of 1,400 Israelis and kidnapping of another 240, Gaza-based photojournalists working for the Associated Press and Reuters — so-called stringers for the major wire services — were present. That presence could only have occurred with prior coordination with Hamas. As Honest Reporting says, “Four names appear on AP’s photo credits from the Israel-Gaza border area on October 7: Hassan Eslaiah, Yousef Masoud, Ali Mahmud, and Hatem Ali.”

Footage shows Eslaiah standing in front of a burning tank during October 7, wearing no press vest or marking of any sort.
The other three pseudo-journalists were there, too, prepared to take pictures of Hamas’ atrocities.
And then the wire services paid them for it and gave them photo credits.
This, unfortunately, is nothing new. The journalists stationed in Gaza either work directly for Hamas or under the thumb of Hamas. All the way back in 2014, the Times of Israel reported that journalists had been questioned and threatened by Hamas; photographers who took pictures Hamas didn’t like had their cameras confiscated. The Washington Post reported at the time that al-Shifa Hospital had “become a de facto headquarters for Hamas leaders, who can be seen in the hallways and offices.” The Middle East correspondent for The Wall Street Journal wrote on Twitter that Hamas used al-Shifa “as a safe place to see media,” but then inexplicably removed the post. One French reporter printed a story about being threatened by Hamas – and then had the outlet remove the story for his own safety.
So, when you see “journalism” from Gaza, just understand — there are no free journalists in Gaza. Either journalists are living under Hamas’ thumb, or they work directly with Hamas. As one Spanish reporter said, “We saw the Hamas men” hiding behind civilians, “but had we dared point the cameras at them, they would have opened fire at us and killed us.”
So, here’s the big question: Would journalistic outlets like the AP and Reuters use stringers associated with white supremacist groups in order to take pictures at Charlottesville? Or are they only willing to use stringers who associate openly with terrorists and voice their support for Hitler, so long as they’re Islamic radicals? What moral responsibility do the AP and Reuters and their like bear for printing the propaganda of Hamas and its minions?
An awful lot of responsibility, of course.
And, as usual, that reality is obscured via projection. We’re now supposed to believe that Gaza is rife with excellent journalists being targeted not by Hamas, but by Israel.
Projection is the name of the game in this conflict.
It always is.
It’s why we see idiots or moral perverts playing silly semantic games obviously meant to tar Israel with the crimes of its enemies. They make vague statements about opposing genocide “from all sides.” Which is a bit like saying, after watching O.J. Simpson butcher his ex-wife and then watching the police arrest him, that you are against violence on all sides. Only one side in this conflict is attempting genocide, and it isn’t Israel, and any implication to the contrary is either idiocy or malevolence.
It&#8217;s why we see idiots or moral perverts attempting to deflect from Hamas’ crimes with talks about Israel’s treatment of Arabs — despite the fact that 20% of Israel’s population is Arab, and that any Jew who wanders into Gaza or Jenin will be summarily murdered.
It’s why we see idiots or moral perverts pointing to civilian casualties in Gaza and murdered civilians in Israeli villages and pretending that their causes of death are somehow equivalent.
For Israel’s enemies — and for Hamas’ most ardent advocates — everything is projection. And the press are certainly Israel’s enemies. 
Which is why they’ll hire supposed journalists who work directly with Hamas.

Photographers from the Associated Press and Reuters appear to have been embedded with Hamas terrorists as they executed terrorist attacks against Israel on October 7, according to a new <a href="https://honestreporting.com/photographers-without-borders-ap-reuters-pictures-of-hamas-atrocities-raise-ethical-questions/">report from Honest Reporting</a>, a media watchdog.
Photos posted by the news agencies of the surprise terrorist attack on Israel include ones showing terrorists breaking the gates to Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where residents were caught completely off guard and dozens were murdered. Photos also show that photographers were on the scene as terrorists took civilians such as Shani Louk hostage, and attacking Israeli tanks on the other side of the Gaza border.
The photos raise serious questions about whether the news agencies had advance knowledge that the terrorist attacks were taking place. The four individuals credited by the Associated Press for images of the attacks — Hassan Eslaiah, Yousef Masoud, Ali Mahmud, and Hatem Ali — are all photographers based in Gaza, where it was revealed in 2021 that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/associated-press-laments-loss-of-gaza-bureau-which-shared-office-space-with-terrorist-organization-hamas">Associated Press shared office space</a> with the terrorist group.
One of the photographers, Hassan Eslaiah, has reportedly been pictured getting kissed by a top Hamas operative who is said to be one of the chief architects of the deadly terrorist attacks, which killed over 1,400 and have led to a massive war with Israel.

Eslaiah&#8217;s social media posts from the day, which have since been deleted but were preserved by Honest Reporting, show he was on the scene. &#8220;Live from inside the Gaza Strip settlements,&#8221; he wrote along with an image of himself with a burning Israeli tank.
After publication of this article, a spokeswoman for the Associated Press denied any advance knowledge of the attack.
&#8220;The Associated Press had no knowledge of the Oct. 7 attacks before they happened,&#8221; said Nicole Meir. &#8220;The role of the AP is to gather information on breaking news events around the world, wherever they happen, even when those events are horrific and cause mass casualties. AP uses images taken by freelancers around the world, including in Gaza.&#8221;
Reuters did not respond to a request for comment. The New York Times and CNN, which both have worked with the photographers in question, also did not respond to inquiries.
Honest Reporting is operated by Gil Hoffman, a veteran Israeli journalist who worked as a political correspondent for the Jerusalem Post for decades. The media watchdog says the &#8220;audience deserves to know&#8221; how photographer&#8217;s real-time knowledge of the terrorist attacks came about. Residents in neighborhoods attacked by Hamas were caught completely off-guard and waited several hours for help to arrive.

The mainstream media has come under fire for its handling of Israel&#8217;s war against Hamas, with outlets such as the New York Times and others <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/after-it-lied-about-israel-new-york-times-verification-badge-removed-by-x">treating false claims</a> by Hamas as facts — such as that the Israelis killed hundreds with a strike on a hospital, when in reality it was a terrorist missile that hit the facility.

The article started by stating that “Aleiwat was pressing his teachers for the school report he needed so he could go to a Jerusalem college to train as a chef” before continuing, “Three days later, he was lying unconscious in hospital accused of opening fire at a group of Israeli passers-by in Jerusalem&#8217;s Silwan district.”
“People who knew Aleiwat are puzzled about what could have prompted him to carry out such an act,” Reuters wrote, claiming that people who knew him said he “had not shown an interest in politics.”
The family of the boy claimed he just “happened to be there and was shot at,” Reuters added.
“We quickly arrived at the scene and saw the victims. They were fully conscious and suffered gunshot wounds to their upper bodies,” paramedic Fadi Dekidak stated, according to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/jerusalem-shooting-alleged-13-year-old-palestinian-gunman-apprehended-armed-israeli-citizen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>. “We quickly put him in an intensive care unit and evacuated them with life-saving medical treatment to Shaare Zedek Hospital.”

The United States alerted Seagate Technology Holdings that it may have broken the law by selling hard drive disks to a blacklisted Chinese company, according to a new <a href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/us-alleges-seagate-broke-export-rules-sell-huawei-hard-drives-source-2022-10-26/?taid=63592e26a534fc0001c34656&amp;utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+Trending+Content&amp;utm_medium=trueAnthem&amp;utm_source=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>. 
A source informed Reuters that the company at issue is Huawei. It is on the U.S. Commerce Department’s Entity List and is prohibited from purchasing exports from the U.S., as well as specific foreign-manufactured products, without being approved first by the government. 
A filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission reportedly states that Seagate was cautioned about this in a “proposed charging letter” from the Commerce Department at the end of August. The document also notes that Seagate contends that the hard disk drives are not under the U.S. export rules and acted lawfully. 
Seagate has said it is working with the agency and trying to settle the issue. It is a data <a href="https://www.seagate.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">storage</a> business based in Dublin, Ireland, but it also works in California. 
The disclosure reportedly said that the items being discussed were given to the company and its partners from August 2020 to September 2021, but it didn’t name the customer, which Reuters&#8217; source identified as China’s Huawei. The source said Seagate stopped sending products to Huawei a year ago.
Seagate could be charged with civil penalties of up to $300,000 for each violation or double the value of the deal. The source also said Seagate hopes to argue its side in a scheduled meeting with the Commerce Department. 
The law at issue is the Foreign Direct Product Rule, which was updated in August 2020. It doesn’t allow businesses to send products created in a foreign country to Huawei if made from U.S. software or technology. The rule was <a href="https://www.mayerbrown.com/en/perspectives-events/publications/2020/08/tightening-the-screws-us-further-restricts-huaweis-access-to-us-technologies#_edn2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">intended</a> to “prevent Huawei’s attempts to circumvent U.S. export controls to obtain electronic components developed or produced using U.S. technology,” according to reporting on a Commerce Department press release. 
The source told Reuters that Seagate believes the products do not fall under the guidelines, but the Commerce Department is charging the company due to a broader interpretation of how a product falls under the rule. 
Last October, Republicans on the Senate Commerce Committee reported that Seagate had probably sent banned materials to Huawei for up to a year. 
Earlier this week, the Justice Department <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/24/us/politics/justice-dept-huawei.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> it had charged Chinese intelligence authorities with trying to spy on a federal investigation being carried out into Huawei. Top law enforcement authorities also announced other unconnected legal steps taken against Chinese agents in the U.S. 
“The government of China sought to interfere with the rights and freedoms of individuals in the United States and to undermine our judicial system that protects those rights,” Attorney General Merrick Garland told the press. “We will continue to fiercely protect the rights guaranteed to everyone in our country.”

Despite the lack of any evidence confirming the rumor, enough people began spreading it that Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-beto-bacterial-infection/fact-check-beto-orourke-battling-a-bacterial-infection-spokesperson-says-idUSL1N3051YN" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stepped in</a> and published a fact check stating that the claims were false.
Noting that the people who originally began circulating the claim had not presented any evidence, the outlet also pointed out the fact that monkeypox is a virus — related to smallpox and cowpox — rather than a bacterial infection that can be treated with simple antibiotics.
Reuters also published a statement from a spokesperson for O&#8217;Rourke, who said, &#8220;The claims are false. Doctors diagnosed Beto with a bacterial infection, which they treated with antibiotics. His symptoms continue to improve and he will be back on the road as soon as he is able.&#8221;
As for Reuters&#8217; final verdict on the issue?
&#8220;No evidence. Beto O’Rourke’s spokesperson told Reuters that the Democratic candidate for Governor fell ill from a bacterial infection, not monkeypox.&#8221;

Reuters reported on Monday that Ukrainian soldiers had been successful in driving Russian occupation forces back across the Russian border in the Sumy region — and while the report in itself was good news, the photo Reuters tweeted with the story quickly raised some eyebrows.

During the White House Correspondent&#8217;s Dinner Saturday night in Washington, D.C., a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1V_05Hmxf9s">video</a> played for the audience made up of celebrities, politicians and journalists — and featuring <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/james-corden-leaving-the-late-late-show-here-are-the-details">the host</a> of the &#8220;The Late, Late Show with James Corden&#8221; standing outside the White House talking about how he was in town to see about &#8220;getting a job.&#8221;
Corden&#8217;s first stop was in the Oval Office where he met with President Joe Biden and told him how he&#8217;d &#8220;like to be of service&#8221; — and the president directed the TV host to head to the &#8220;press room.&#8221;
Biden then told Corden he &#8220;should go be with the press,&#8221; going on to tell him, &#8220;don&#8217;t come back.&#8221;

Corden went to find White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Psaki then took down some notes for the host and they included answers to questions about President Vladimir Putin&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine, the state of the U.S. economy and more.
&#8220;War with Russia, bad,&#8221; the press secretary shared. &#8220;Ahh, CDC [Center for Disease Control and Prevention] good. Economy, strong.&#8221;
The last one Corden didn&#8217;t seem to be on board with and responded, &#8220;is it?&#8221;
&#8220;Iran, diplomacy good,&#8221; Psaki continued, before the late-night host asked what he should say if he gets asked about Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson&#8217;s relationship.
Jen said &#8220;we love love around here, so I think that&#8217;s a safe place to be.&#8221;
Corden then stepped into the White House Press room and got hit with a host of hard hitting questions that definitely appeared to be tougher than the normal ones the media throws at Psaki. The questions ranged from asking about the president&#8217;s plans to stave off a recession to why Biden spends every weekend away from the WH in Delaware.
One question even touched on tapping the strategic petroleum reserve to deal with rising gas prices and Corden came back with a joke about it not being anybody&#8217;s business who the &#8220;president is tapping.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s for me or you, Jenny [Kelly O&#8217;Donnell], to talk about who or what the President is tapping,&#8221; Corden replied.
It was the first time laughter could be heard from the audience gathered at the White House Correspondent&#8217;s Dinner were they were watching the video.
Corden then calls on Reuters reporter Jeff Mason who asked about &#8220;what is the president&#8217;s plan for deficit reduction?&#8221;

Psaki began by pointing out that the protests had thus far not impacted Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) operations along the border — adding as an aside that she knew it didn&#8217;t address Shalala&#8217;s question directly but that others had asked about it and she wanted to make sure she made that information available.
She also noted that some shipments of goods coming to and from Canada had been forced to reroute due to road closures, but that all of that had been managed safely and effectively.
She then circled back around to Shalala&#8217;s question and said simply that the White House did not have any updates on that particular issue.
In recent weeks, a GoFundMe page set up to assist the protesting truckers had raised millions — and some had been distributed already — when the platform pulled the account and claimed that the protest was not an acceptable cause.
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-gofundme-completely-shuts-down-massive-canadian-freedom-convoy-page-issues-statement">reported</a>:
<blockquote>GoFundMe, the crowdsourcing fundraising platform used by a variety of political persuasion and causes, has released a statement saying that they will be shutting down the Canadian Freedom Convoy page that organizers had been using to raise more than 10 million Canadian dollars for individuals and truck drivers protesting Canada’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
According to the company, they now have “evidence” that the protest is no longer peaceful and is now an “occupation,” which violates their terms of services, although they did not specify what evidence they were referencing.</blockquote>
The original Freedom Convoy inspired a second group to amass along the Canadian border, and others may be in the works as well — in the United States and in the U.K.
A Facebook page quickly racked up tens of thousands of followers encouraging American truckers to start a &#8220;Convoy To DC.&#8221;
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/convoy-to-dc-facebook-group-amasses-90k-followers-calls-on-american-truckers-to-form-nationwide-protest-against-vax-mandates">reported</a>:
<blockquote> &#8220;&#8216;We are part of many large groups who believe in our founding fathers,&#8217; Convoy to DC <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/428429165022269">stated</a> in its &#8216;About&#8217; section on its Facebook page. &#8216;We believe everyone has a voice. We support our freedom. Help us spread the word about this group and together we all can make it a better place. God Bless America.'&#8221;
The Facebook group calling for the U.S. convoy has amassed more than 90,000 members and followers, up from 67,000 on Sunday, based on media reports. While the group is asking for truck drivers and long haulers specifically to join the caravan, the page is filled with posts from non-truck drivers in support of the movement.</blockquote>

Protesters ended up torching many black-owned businesses when they went on a rampage over the weekend in Kenosha, Wisconsin, after police shot Jacob Blake, who is black.
&#8220;Arsonists set buildings ablaze and torched much of the Black business district in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a second night of unrest sparked by the wounding of a Black man shot in the back by police as his three young sons looked on,&#8221; Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-race-usa-wisconsin/arsonists-set-fires-as-wisconsin-city-rages-anew-over-police-shooting-of-black-man-idUSKBN25L0Q9?utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=twitter">reported</a> on Tuesday. It continued:
<blockquote>Local police, who had support from National Guard troops, fired tear gas, rubber bullets and smoke bombs to disperse the crowd, which grew to several hundred, according to protester Porche Bennett, 31, of Kenosha. Fires destroyed much of the Black business district, Bennett said, adding that the instigators she saw were white. “It’s people from out of town doing this. We’ve been shopping there since we were kids and they set it on fire,” Bennett said.</blockquote>

A graphic <a href="https://twitter.com/SVNewsAlerts/status/1297721730560151552">video</a> has been making the rounds on social media, depicting Blake walking around the front of an SUV and getting into the driver&#8217;s side when police opened fire.
But another video, taken from a different angle, appears to show Blake &#8220;was involved in a brawl with several Kenosha cops moments before the shooting,&#8221; the Daily Mail <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8660213/Video-shows-Jacob-Blake-brawling-cops-shot-Wisconsin-cops-placed-leave.html">reported</a> on Tuesday. &#8220;In the latest video, Blake is seen wrestling with at least two Kenosha police officers.&#8221;

Blake, 29, remains in intensive care following surgery, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who represents the Blake family, <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-race-usa-wisconsin/arsonists-set-fires-as-wisconsin-city-rages-anew-over-police-shooting-of-black-man-idUSKBN25L0Q9?utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=twitter">told</a> ABC News on Tuesday. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.
Armed business owners took to the streets on Tuesday night to protect their businesses.
“We’re out here trying to protect residents, we’re trying to protect the innocent people and we’re trying to protect the businesses of the citizens out here,&#8221; one owner said, <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2020/08/25/jacob-blake-armed-residents-protect-local-small-businesses-kenosha-wisconsin-rioting-looting/">according</a> to Shelby Talcott, a media reporter for the Daily Caller.

A second man guarding the business yelled back at the crowd and said he was on their side. “You can’t burn down your local businesses!” he yelled. “The owner of this business is probably out here with them. They’re destroying their own neighborhood! Go f*** up the government that just killed your man … I’m just a guy. I’m just a f***ing guy,” the second man added.

Reuters reported that &#8220;social media images showed both white and Black agitators. Black men swinging baseball bats broke traffic signals and street lamps. White and Black men bashed a row of cars. One white man riding a skateboard doused a government truck with an accelerant and set it on fire. Heavily armed white civilians stood guard in front of businesses.&#8221;
