Based on her previous comments, New York City’s newly minted &#8220;Tenant Director&#8221; Cea Weaver will waste no time telegraphing the Mamdani administration’s radical agenda: the systematic dismantling of private property rights in favor of Soviet-style collectivism.
Weaver, a high-ranking operative within the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), was hand-picked by Mayor Zohran Mamdani to lead the city’s housing policy. Her appointment follows Mamdani’s chilling inaugural pledge to &#8220;replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism&#8221; — a phrase that sounds more like a translation from a 1917 Bolshevik pamphlet than a speech by an American mayor.
In her previous comments that have sent shockwaves through the city&#8217;s middle class, Weaver explicitly framed the abolition of property rights as a racial imperative. Breaking from the traditional language of urban planning, Weaver pivoted to a divisive, race-based attack on homeowners.
&#8220;The reality is that for centuries, we have really treated property as an individualized good and not as a collective good,&#8221; Weaver stated, echoing the core tenets of Karl Marx. She went on to warn that the transition to &#8220;shared equity&#8221; would specifically target &#8220;white families&#8221; and &#8220;some POC (people of color) families who are homeowners,&#8221; forcing them into a &#8220;different relationship to property&#8221; than the one protected by the U.S. Constitution for nearly 250 years.

To those familiar with the Communist Manifesto, Weaver’s previous rhetoric is a textbook example of class — and now race — warfare. By categorizing the family home as a &#8220;collective good&#8221; rather than a private asset, she has raised concerns about possible state-sanctioned seizures and the destruction of generational wealth.
By singling out white families, Weaver has used the &#8220;social justice&#8221; playbook to justify what is effectively a policy of collective punishment. Under the guise of &#8220;equity,&#8221; New Yorkers fear they could be punished for achieving the American Dream, treating homeownership not as a milestone of success but as a &#8220;privilege&#8221; to be socialized by the state.
By attacking the &#8220;individualized good,&#8221; Weaver attacked the very concept of the sovereign individual. As Margaret Thatcher famously noted, &#8220;there is no such thing as society,&#8221; only individuals and families. Weaver’s stated vision could seek to erase both, subsuming the family unit into a faceless, state-managed &#8220;community use&#8221; project.
As the New York City administration moves toward &#8220;universal rent control&#8221; and &#8220;shared equity&#8221; models, the message to New Yorkers is clear: Your home is no longer your castle — it is a municipal resource, and if you belong to the &#8220;wrong&#8221; demographic, you could be first on the list to lose it.

A recent video claims that the Christmas song &#8220;Jingle Bells&#8221; is racist. And lest you think that&#8217;s absurd, let me say that no less a philosopher than Joy Reid retweeted the video, because she had nothing better to do since MSNBC canceled her show when they found they couldn’t fit a camera into her padded cell. To be fair, MSNBC also canceled MSNBC, changing its name to MS-NOW, which caused the MSNBC audience to sit up and say, “Where the hell am I?” before she sank back into the marijuana-fueled haze she’s been in since 1969. 
The idea that &#8220;Jingle Bells&#8221; is racist emanates from the work of a Boston University professor who says &#8220;Jingle Bells&#8221; isn’t racist. The professor does say the song may have been first performed in a nineteenth century minstrel show, where white people dressed up as black people in the hope of tricking the audience into thinking they had musical talent. The author of &#8220;Jingle Bells&#8221; wrote songs for such black-face shows, and also fought in the Civil War on the side of the Confederacy, but he’s dead now so he got his. 
What’s left is the song itself. And yes, it certainly is a sinister anthem of racist bigotry with such offensive lyrics as “Now the ground is white,” which clearly suggests white supremacy to anyone who is so google-eyed crazy they wear their baseball cap backwards just in case someone should try to sneak up behind them. The very lyrics, “Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way,” constitute an obvious and vicious attack on the aspirations and dignity of a race of oppressed people whose suffering cries out so loudly and persistently that it is inexplicable how I managed to fall asleep before I even finished writing this sentence. 
Thus, &#8220;Jingle Bells&#8221; joins other foul expressions of Christmas wickedness like “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” That song recreated the age-old ritual of flirtation and seduction that has given both men and women some of the most pleasurable moments of their lives. It thereby angered feminists by reminding them how unfair it is that no one ever flirts with them because their scrunched-up faces and shrill falcon-like voices would shrivel the desire of a satyr, not to mention the fact that squeezing even fifteen seconds of desirable femininity out of those shrikes is barely worth the trouble of lighting their cigarettes, so who cares how cold it is, go home already.

Now, of course, I don’t mean to make fun of the ridiculous clowns who bring these matters to our attention. After all, it’s deeply important not to turn our eyes away from anything about this season that we can pretend is offensive. Otherwise, people might drift off into a state of complacent holiday cheer, humming merrily as they greet one another on the snowy streets with a reawakened sense of fellowship and well-being brought about by the knowledge that the savior of the world was born on Christmas Day to save us all from Satan’s power with his everlasting love and forgiveness. What a waste of our brief time on earth it would be to focus on that, when instead we could be dredging up centuries-old acts of unkindness that may or may not have been committed by people who, anyway, are now long dead — so they got theirs.
We must never allow ourselves to become so immersed in feelings of good will towards men that we miss the opportunity to poison the pleasure of seasonal merry-makers by twisting the facts until we can append some imaginary crime or other to yet another facet of what used to be the happiest season of the year. We must always remember that if we can manage to make even one person feel guilty for something he never even dreamed of doing, it will make us seem like virtuous culture warriors instead of the useless jerkwads we so obviously are.
So remember…. Even if someone just says, “Merry Christmas,” be sure to point out that that is not inclusive language, and it offends those people who don’t believe in Christ and thus cruelly reminds them of the lonely, tortured hell of godless eternity they will experience after death. Jingling all the way.

One of the big questions that has plagued American politics for the last decade and a half is: What the hell is going on?
In order to understand what the hell is going on, I think we need to understand the transformation that happened around 2014.
In 2012, we had what I consider to be the most consequential election of my lifetime, the one that everybody forgets. That&#8217;s the one that I think was really important. Why?
Because in 2008, Barack Obama, America&#8217;s first black president, was elected on the platform of unifying Americans around race. Racial optimism in the country was at an all-time high, according to the polling data.
And then, in 2012, Barack Obama, who had been a very progressive and left-wing president, who had pushed Obamacare through, lost popularity. So he decided that the best way to win reelection was not to broadcast a unifying message, but to divide Americans by race and then to cobble together enough racial coalitions in order to win a victory. He defeated Mitt Romney, the most milquetoast candidate in the history of American politics, in what was a fairly solid victory. 
And that seemed to change everything, because by 2014, race relations in the United States were on the decline. Barack Obama — who had made a lot of promises to a lot of people — needed to fulfill those promises, particularly on issues of race.
He claimed Trayvon Martin could have been his son. That was a racial claim because what he was saying was that any black person would have been subjected to the same treatment as Trayvon Martin, that circumstances did not matter. He said the same thing with regard to Ferguson, Missouri, where he claimed that nobody would make up the kinds of experiences that Michael Brown had undergone.
Of course, it turned out that in Ferguson, Missouri, Michael Brown&#8217;s acolytes, people who were pseudo-witnesses, actually did make up the story about Michael Brown claiming that he had raised his hands: Hands up, don&#8217;t shoot! and all of the rest.
Thus, by 2014, race relations were on a steep decline in the United States, and have never recovered.
That is because so much of this attitude is racially divisive. The attitude was then baked into American politics.

There&#8217;s a fascinating and important <a href="https://www.compactmag.com/article/the-lost-generation/">piece</a> in Compact magazine by Jacob Savage, talking about the realities of hiring and firing in the elite institutions of the United States, which became explicitly race-based around 2014.
He writes: 
<blockquote>The doors seemed to close everywhere and all at once. In 2011, the year I moved to Los Angeles, white men were 48 percent of lower-level TV writers; by 2024, they accounted for just 11.9 percent. The Atlantic’s editorial staff went from 53 percent male and 89 percent white in 2013 to 36 percent male and 66 percent white in 2024. White men fell from 39 percent of tenure-track positions in the humanities at Harvard in 2014 to 18 percent in 2023. In retrospect, 2014 was the hinge, the year DEI became institutionalized across American life. </blockquote>
There are people who are DEI advocates who will claim that this is the natural state of things, that white people were being artificially elevated. And when that ended, thanks to DEI, white people fell out of positions of power. 
But the reality is the opposite: America had been, for at least a couple of generations, generally a meritocracy, particularly on issues of race. For example, when you go back to how hiring was done in TV studios, some of the most Left-leaning areas in American life in 2011, it wasn&#8217;t that the heads of the writers&#8217; room were selecting for white people; it was that they were selecting for the funniest people. 
And then they decided to radically shift how they did hiring and firing, thus dispossessing people of the positions that they had earned in favor of other people based on group characteristics.
I&#8217;m 41. People of my generation were brought up in the 1990s, and we were taught from a very, very early age that Martin Luther King Jr.&#8217;s exhortation to judge people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin, was morally correct.
That’s because it is morally correct.
And then an entire cadre of elite institutional professionals decided not to do that anymore. Not only that, they decided, in many cases, that the majority of potential employees in a potential applicant pool were bad because of the immutable characteristics, the color of their skin, or their maleness. The idea was that these people were somehow lesser, that they had participated in systemic discrimination, and even if they themselves were not racist, the system was racist and thus these people had to be dispossessed. 
They took the most tolerant cohort of people, people who had been trained in the idea of a colorblind meritocracy, and told them that colorblind meritocracy was for them, but it wasn&#8217;t for anyone else. These people were told that they should continue to adhere to an idea of colorblind meritocracy because it was morally correct, but they were the beneficiaries of racialist systems, and therefore, they had to pay.

That is unsustainable. There&#8217;s one system for everyone. And if you are told that colorblind meritocracy is something that you should morally accept — which is true — and then you are told it doesn&#8217;t apply to you, it only applies to everyone else, you are likely to get a generation of people who start to reject a colorblind meritocracy and start to look at race relations as a zero sum game rather than an additive bonus.
They start to see everything as a question of who gets the job based on immutable characteristics, and start to view themselves as a put-upon identity group, because they are a put-upon identity group. If a group is determined to be lesser on the basis of immutable characteristics, they&#8217;re going to start seeing themselves in identitarian ways.
That doesn&#8217;t mean that they are right to do so. It does mean, however, that the only way to destroy all of this, this new identitarian moment we are living in, where there’s an identitarianism of the Left that adheres to the idea that group identity is really, really good except if you&#8217;re talking about white Christian men, and an identitarian Right that is formed in counter-response that says, “Fine, you want to play that game? We&#8217;ll play that game, too,” is to go back to a system that we were all taught as kids, and that was natural to us: Colorblind meritocracy.
Colorblind meritocracy is good. It is right.
Why?
Because meritocracy is the only system of human relations ever devised that has positive externalities. When the people who are best at the job, get the job, you get greater efficiency, you get better job performance, you get better innovation, better products.
People are able to expend their best abilities to the benefit of everyone else.
Every other system, every other anti-meritocratic system has negative externalities. They help the people who are inside the system and hurt the people who are outside the system.
Meritocracy benefits everyone because even if you didn&#8217;t get the job — let’s say you lost the job to a person who is better qualified than you, better at the job than you — that means that the person who filled the job is going to perform the job better than you would have, and so that company will do better. They will perform better, the prices will be better, and the products will be better.
Moreover, you will end up in a job where you are most meritorious.
If you want a happier human society, meritocracy is the way.
We were told by the leftists that meritocracy is inherently bad. Why? Because people looked at the outcome numbers and they judged for themselves that if outcomes were not equal, the system was unequal and bad.
But if you don&#8217;t use meritocracy, then you have to prejudge. Either you are going to judge a system based on the effect of the system, or you&#8217;re going to prejudge a system based on your perception of fairness between groups.
There is nothing just or fair about the idea that a person should be hampered in their capacity to succeed because of their immutable characteristics.
That is just wrong.
Grievance-based politics need to end. Yes, white male American millennials, Christians do have reason for grievance.
But the solution to that grievance is meritocracy. It is not, in fact, reversed grievance. Otherwise, we&#8217;re just going to ping-pong between grievances. It will become a question of who grabs the government gun and crams down their preferred solution.
That is not what America was built on.
And it is not what is going to cause America to succeed.
The negative externalities of the DEI system have been felt everywhere from the social sphere to the job sphere to the governmental sphere. And that spiral will keep on swirling in the drain unless we reverse it and go back to what we all taught our kids and what we were taught as kids: to treat every individual human being as an individual, and not on the basis of some sort of immutable characteristic.
What happened over the course of the last decade was a sin against decency, and the fact that so many people are still invested in that sin, or who now want to pursue the same sin, but with a different color at the top, will not make for a successful America.

At Kent State University in Ohio, an a cappella group that claims to oppose discrimination reportedly enforced a policy that barred white students from even auditioning for certain solos — then moved to discipline a member who dared question it.
Emails obtained by <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article/exclusive-kent-state-cappella-group-bans-white-students-solo-auditions/29047">Campus Reform</a> showed that Vocal Intensity A Cappella limited solos in one song strictly to “people of color,” arguing that allowing white students to audition would amount to “cultural appropriation.” The rule didn’t sit well with Mark Phillips, a three-year member and the group’s beatboxer, who asked the group’s executive board how that policy squared with Kent State’s own ban on racial discrimination. Phillips wrote that while he respected concerns about authenticity, “Art, music, and culture are meant to be shared and celebrated, not gatekept,” and that the strongest performance should win.
For raising that question, the board accused Phillips of violating the university’s anti-discrimination policy — the very policy meant to prevent the kind of race-based exclusion he was objecting to. The board placed him on probation and ordered him to appear before the entire group in a disciplinary hearing where he would “plead his case” and potentially face permanent removal.
The board doubled down in follow-up correspondence, reiterating that the solos would remain restricted to black students unless reversed by a vote. The planned hearing involved closed-door proceedings, time-limited speeches, and even guidelines for immediate expulsion should the group choose removal. If kept, Phillips would have been placed on months-long probation.

That structure stands in stark contrast to Kent State’s written rules, which explicitly forbid racial discrimination and retaliation against students who challenge it. The university’s policy <a href="https://www.kent.edu/policyreg/university-policy-regarding-unlawful-discrimination-and-harassment">states</a>, “This policy prohibits discrimination and harassment based on race, color, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, disability, genetic information, age, and protected military or veteran status. Retaliation for reporting or participating in the complaint process is also prohibited.”
It also clashes with Ohio’s recently enacted Advance Ohio Higher Education Act, which bars race-based advantages in public universities.
Phillips ultimately resigned and called the disciplinary process a “performative ambush” aimed at punishing him for opposing discrimination. In his resignation letter, he wrote, “Denying opportunities based on skin color is discrimination by definition.”
Speaking to Campus Reform, Phillips said, “What I really want is for people to bring common sense back and stop pretending that people of color are oppressed in this country. I want people to realize that we are meant to celebrate what we have in common instead of dividing and fighting over our differences.”

Researchers at the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Child Development are facing criticism after launching a website claiming that America is suffering from a “Whiteness Pandemic.”
The <a href="https://innovation.umn.edu/culture-and-family-life-lab/whiteness-pandemic">website</a>, created by the institute&#8217;s Culture and Family Lab, is titled, “Whiteness Pandemic Resources for Parents, Educators, and other Caregivers,” and states:

Racism is an epidemic that can also be considered a pandemic given its large cross-national proportion and spread (APA, 2020). However, there is another pandemic lurking behind and driving the racism pandemic – the Whiteness Pandemic. Whiteness refers to culture not biology: the centuries-old culture of Whiteness features colorblindness, passivity, and White fragility, which are all covert expressions of racism common in the United States. &#8230; At birth, young children growing up in White families begin to be socialized into the culture of Whiteness, making the family system one of the most powerful systems involved in systemic racism.
</blockquote>
It continues, “If you were born or raised in the United States, you have grown up in the Whiteness Pandemic.”
The nonprofit group Parents Defending Education, which monitors political activism in schools, blasted the website as “far-left programming” reflective of a deeply entrenched diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) agenda. Rhyen Staley, the group’s research director, told Fox News that the project shows how pervasive DEI remains in taxpayer-funded institutions.

The “Whiteness Pandemic” initiative is based on a 2021 study funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and written by lab director Dr. Gail Ferguson. The abstract for the paper, which won an award from the Society for General Psychology, <a href="https://experts.umn.edu/en/publications/the-whiteness-pandemic-behind-the-racism-pandemic-familial-whiten/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">reads</a>, “Family socialization into the centuries-old culture of Whiteness—involving colorblindness, passivity, and fragility—perpetrates and perpetuates U.S. racism, reflecting an insidious Whiteness pandemic.”
The study concluded that parents’ attitudes toward race correlated with their level of “racial identity development,” suggesting that silence on racial events like George Floyd’s death reflected lower progress in “antiracism.”
Critics argue that the framing is both unscientific and overtly accusatory. The study surveyed a highly specific demographic: predominantly liberal, educated, upper-middle-class white mothers in Minnesota, raising serious questions about the generalizability of the conclusions. By defining an entire race’s culture as inherently problematic and framing all white people as contributors to systemic racism, the university is effectively assigning collective guilt based on skin color.

Michelle Obama is continuing her book promo tour and complaining nonstop about how she believes she’s been perceived by the public. Her latest in a long list of complaints has to do with her hair.
The former first lady discussed the topic during a conversation with Tracee Ellis Ross that was posted on YouTube over the weekend.
Obama whined that black women are “trapped” by societal pressure regarding their looks and feel compelled to keep their hair straight, meaning they can’t participate in everyday activities. 
“Let me explain something to white people. Our hair comes out of our head naturally in a curly pattern,” the 61-year-old lectured. “When we straighten it to follow your beauty standards, we are trapped by the straightness.”
“That&#8217;s why so many of us can&#8217;t swim, and we run away from the water. People won&#8217;t go to the gym because we’re trying to keep our hair straight for y&#8217;all! It&#8217;s exhausting, expensive and takes up so much time.”
Obama concluded by effusively telling society to “get out of&#8221; her hair.
“So why do we need an act … an act of law to get white folks out of our hair? Don’t tell me how to wear my hair. Don’t wonder about it. Don’t touch it. Just don’t. It just is.”

The former first lady got some negative reactions from both sides of the political aisle. 
One Threads user has been gaining traction online for her reaction to Obama’s rant.
“Dear Michelle Obama, newsflash black women do not straighten their hair because of white peoples beauty standards,” user Chanel Coco <a href="https://www.threads.com/@chanelcocofive/post/DRE3Ws3AF0d">posted</a> in reply. “As a Curly natural myself most black women straighten their hair because they choose to and it’s easier to manage for them. Let’s drop this narrative that we do anything for the white beauty standard, black women are the true beauty standard. Why get on stage and say that nonsense?”
“Dear Michelle Obama, Abandon the victimhood. There is no standard. If you don’t want to straighten your hair…then don’t,” an X user posted alongside a photo of a large Afro hairstyle. 
“I, for one, have never once cared about Michelle Obama&#8217;s hair and what she does or doesn&#8217;t do with it,” former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines <a href="https://x.com/Riley_Gaines_/status/1989788112214741464">wrote</a> in reply, echoing what so many others were saying. 
Obama has been complaining about her hair and the way she thinks it&#8217;s viewed for years. In 2022, she said she decided to straighten her hair while her husband Barack was in office because the public was not “<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/11/17/michelle-obama-black-hair-braids/">ready for</a>” her to have braids.  
Obama has been promoting her new book, “The Look,” which is touted as a reflection on her “lifelong journey with fashion, hair, and beauty.” The book tour has featured nonstop complaining about the pressure she was under, including when Obama <a href="https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1986835412204016114">said</a> having a team for hair, makeup, and styling was a &#8220;time necessity&#8221; rather than a &#8220;luxury.”

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is discussing America&#8217;s supposed racism and complaining about her time in the White House.
During an upcoming special, Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts reads quotes from Obama&#8217;s new book, &#8220;The Look,&#8221; which, in part, opines about the scrutiny Obama says she felt from white people in America.
&#8220;You said, &#8216;We were all too aware that as the first black couple, we couldn&#8217;t afford any missteps,'&#8221; Roberts read. &#8220;And you also say, &#8216;As a black woman, I was under a particularly white hot glare.'&#8221;
&#8220;Did you feel that?&#8221; Roberts asked Obama.
&#8220;For sure,&#8221; she answered.
&#8220;You can&#8217;t afford to get anything wrong, because you didn&#8217;t &#8212; at least until the country came to know us &#8212; we didn&#8217;t get the grace that I think some other families have gotten,&#8221; the former first lady continued.
Radio host Buck Sexton commented on the remarks, &#8220;Starting to feel like maybe Michelle Obama is a bitter malcontent addicted to complaining about her incredibly privileged life.&#8221;

Obama has talked about her time in the White House previously, calling it isolating and complaining that the family had to pay for their food and travel. The Obamas are reportedly worth $70 million.
“Much is not covered,&#8221; Obama <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/michelle-obama-complains-it-was-expensive-to-live-in-the-white-house?utm_source=chatgpt.com">said</a> earlier this year. &#8220;You’re paying for every food, every bit of food that you eat … you’re not paying for housing and the staff in it … but everything, even travel, if you’re not traveling with the president, if you&#8217;re kids are coming on a Bright Star, which is the first lady&#8217;s plane, we had to pay for their travel to be on the plane.&#8221;
Obama has focused much on race. Just days ago, she <a href="https://people.com/michelle-obama-reveals-why-she-never-wore-braids-in-the-white-house-exclusive-11838287">complained</a> about black women having to spend &#8220;thousands of hours&#8221; and lots of money on their hair if they try to straighten in, instead of wearing it natural and curly.

The former first lady also famously suggested in 2008 that it was the first time she was proud of her country as an adult woman when the nation voted for her husband during the Democrat presidential primaries.
&#8220;But what we’ve learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback,&#8221; she said at the time. &#8220;It is making a comeback and let me tell you something: For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.&#8221;

Retired tennis star Serena Williams found apparently racist cotton decor at a New York City hotel this past week, and complained about it on Instagram.
Williams, who&#8217;s in NYC for a Kim Kardashian <a href="https://pagesix.com/2025/09/25/celebrity-news/serena-williams-calls-out-nyc-hotels-cotton-plant-decoration/">event</a>, shared video of her examining a vase filled with faux cotton stems and asking her followers how they &#8220;feel&#8221; about it. She said, &#8220;it doesn&#8217;t feel great,&#8221; and visibly shivered over the sight of it.
Williams shared the video via Instagram Stories, where the athlete has 18 million followers.

Journalist Megyn Kelly reacted to the video, noting Williams&#8217; tremendous success in America.
&#8220;Serena Williams is triggered by cotton, I guess because it used to be picked by slaves, and she&#8217;s a black American? It&#8217;s 2025,&#8221; Kelly said. &#8220;Serena Williams is estimated by Forbes to be worth $350 million. She&#8217;s married to a very, very rich man, too.&#8221;

This is not the first time Williams has seemed to complain about alleged racism. The tennis superstar, who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, blasted an image of a luxury Paris hotel restaurant last year to her 10 million followers while suggesting the restaurant &#8220;denied&#8221; her service because she&#8217;s black.

However, a spokesperson from The Peninsula Paris responded to the accusation and said the restaurant was simply booked up.

Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved,” the restaurant’s official account <a href="https://x.com/peninsulaparis/status/1820533467358371858" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a>. “We have always been honored to welcome you and will always be to welcome you again. Williams recently made headlines for teaming up with Ro, a telehealth company that offers GLP-1 weight loss drugs. The mother of two is featured in marketing campaigns aimed at normalizing the drugs, and she&#8217;s openly discussed using them for weight loss herself.

Charlie Kirk was an alt-right extremist.
Certainly, that’s what many in the so-called mainstream conclude from the collection of carefully culled remarks we are being fed by algorithms designed to maximally outrage us. These preternaturally powerful algos are fueled by bot armies, bad faith domestic players, sociopathic social media business practices, and hostile foreign regimes that seek to divide America.
How many hours of original Charlie Kirk footage do the algos have from which to select? An AI breakdown of Mr. Kirk’s content between podcasts, radio shows, YouTube videos, speeches, debates, and interviews estimates the total time somewhere between 5,000 and 8,000 hours.
If we put this in the context of a job, assuming an eight-hour workday with no breaks, that translates to 625 to 1,000 consecutive work days.
At the upper end, that is two years and nine months of talking.
How many moments of this man’s life have people watched before making up their minds that his assassination must be qualified or even celebrated?
Suppose deep machine learning cast its all-powerful eye on the last 8,000 hours that any of us spoke to find out-of-context moments to maximally denigrate, vilify, and dehumanize us. Do we really believe our character couldn’t be assassinated just as readily?
Do we really believe anyone’s reputation could survive that level of scrutiny and cherry picking?
Yours? Mine? Our family members? Classmates and colleagues? The leaders we support? The athletes and musicians we admire?
Of course not.
But this is the world that we’ve built and allowed. And now it is clearer than ever: Ours is a radicalized culture.
A culture that reduces people to their mistakes, jokes, stupid remarks, contradictions, hypocrisies, blind spots, and contentious assertions is a culture that allows zero tolerance for being human.
A culture that views legitimate political disagreement as an us-versus-them battle with existential stakes, that demonizes the opposition and views them not as factions and individuals but as a monolith.
Why is it radical? Because it remains ossified and immovable, allowing neither nuance nor learning.
A quick online spin shows us the ways that Charlie Kirk, a complex and good man, imperfect like every last one of us, has been hammered flat and dehumanized.
He’s racist… despite running a Young Black Leadership Summit for years, despite his avowed and articulate admiration of black luminaries like Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, and Thomas Sowell, despite his mentoring of many young black activists and leaders, and despite his voter mobilization efforts for the black community.
He’s anti-gay… despite welcoming gays into the conservative movement with love and grace, despite his taking fire from actual homophobes and arguing to persuade them, despite his deep friendships with many gay people.
He’s transphobic… despite his multiple kind and respectful discussions with trans students in which he welcomed them and encouraged them toward health and meaning.
He’s a misogynist… despite the fact that he ran a Young Women’s Leadership Summit, elevated women on his podcasts and events, encouraged women to engage politically, uplifted female chapter leaders and ambassadors, and spoke to podcast audiences, which at times skewed 60-65% female.
He’s a violent extremist… despite his countless denunciations of violence and coercion, despite his refusal to fight when challenged, despite his exemplification of debate and discourse.
He’s alt-right… despite the fact that his opinions are not far from average Catholic and Christian views from a single generation ago, despite the fact that he was a bulwark against extremism on his own side, despite the reality that he was hated by Groypers, Nazis, terrorists, and white supremacists.
There seems to be a genuine belief among many that everything Charlie Kirk did was for power, manipulation, and control. A belief that his movement is all grift and corruption. A belief that for him and everyone in his orbit — and what an orbit it was — there was no wisdom, no grace, no care for people or the nation. Nothing genuine, only Machiavellian plans for an evil takeover.
How does this happen?
Our radicalizing media, social and otherwise, has strangled our curiosity, forbidding exploration of opposing notions, ideas, and thinkers. It tells us that we cannot risk contamination with information that might provide nuance and context. It tells us that anyone seeking to offer a different perspective is captured, brainwashed, not to be trusted. It tells us that if we modify our position, we will be outcast as a traitor, despised, one of “them.”
We all know the feeling. A stubborn ping in the chest, a compulsion at the back of our lizard brain that whispers: I’m on the right side of this issue, I just know it. I’m on the right side of history, I just know it. He’s a bad guy, I just know it. I don’t need to see or hear anything else that might disprove or alter my opinion, I just know it.
I just know it. And won’t be told otherwise.
That is what radicalization sounds like.
Terrifying to see in the mirror. Terrifying and shameful.
And it prevents many from gazing with open eyes and an open heart on a tableau that can only be described as biblical. A husband and father shot before his wife and young children at a free speech event on a college campus beneath a sign that says, Prove Me Wrong, in front of 3,000 kids, live-streamed to tens of thousands more. Terrified by the gunshot, his three-year-old daughter ran to him, crying, “Daddy.”
What would have been our overwhelming national reaction to this moment in a time before social media and cable news?
Not moral confusion, equivocation, political expediency — certainly not gleeful malice.
The difference between then and now is our widespread radicalization from being fed selective information 24-7.
This is what it looks like.
It looks like us.
And it will destroy America if we don’t stop it.
Because when we are blinded by radicalization, we are also blind to who our real enemies are.
Our foreign adversaries are feeding this division. Profiteering social media companies with teams of addiction specialists are laser-focused on exploiting our kids. Nihilists who wish only chaos, pain, and destruction.
There are alt-right extremists. Charlie Kirk was not one of them. 

He was the embodiment of how you teach conservative young men and women not to become alt-right extremists.
When challenged to fight by a grown man in front of 2,000 kids, Mr. Kirk said, “The only thing that is preventing us in this country from going to civil war is debate and dialogue… In fact, a mark of civilization is that we don’t have to go to blows and bullets, that we can have discourse and debate… We are going to remain peaceful.”
Again and again this week, I have been told:
Charlie was part of the problem. 
He was a peddler of hate.
He said some horrendous things.
Do you really want to defend him?
That is not a good hill for you to die on.
Is it?
For a man I never met?
For a thinker I considered to be, on many topics, a beneficial adversary?
For the principles he evinced — debate not fists, discussion not bullets, gratitude not grievance, love not hate?
Yes.
It is.
This is a hill for us to die on.
Just like he did.

The Italian journalist under fire online for a controversial #MeToo and Black Lives Matter question at the Venice Film Festival is now defending herself.
Federica Polidoro sat down with “After the Hunt” stars Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield, and Ayo Edebiri for an interview to promote the project. One moment from the conversation, posted to the ArtsLifeTV YouTube channel, has gone viral, with critics accusing Polidoro of being “racist” for directing one of her questions specifically to Roberts and Garfield, who are white, while being accused of excluding Edebiri, who is black.
“Now that the #MeToo era and the Black Lives Matter are done, what do we have to expect in Hollywood and what we lost, we lost something with the politically correct era?” she asked.
Despite the question not being directed at her, Edebiri jumped in to answer it.
“I know that that’s not for me, and I don’t know if it’s purposeful that it’s not for me, but I just am curious,” the star of “The Bear” said.
She went on, “I don’t think it’s done. I don’t think it’s done at all,” as Roberts chimed in with her agreement.
Edebiri went on: “I think maybe hashtags might not be used as much, but I do think that there’s work being done by activists, by people, every day, that’s beautiful, important work that’s not finished, that’s really, really, really active for a reason, because this world is really charged. And that work isn’t finished at all. Maybe if there’s not, like, mainstream coverage in the way that there might have been, daily headlines in the way that it might have been eight or so years ago, but I don’t think it means that the work is done. That’s what I would say.”
Garfield chimed in, agreeing that the Black Lives Matter and #MeToo movements “are still absolutely alive, as you say, just maybe not as labeled or covered or magnified as much.”
The exchange triggered widespread backlash online, with many commenters accusing Polidoro of asking an insensitive question while being dismissive of the only black actor participating in the interview.
Following the resulting backlash, Polidoro took to Instagram to defend herself in a lengthy post.

“I am not aware of any protocol that dictates the order in which questions must be asked in an interview,” the journalist wrote in part. “Censoring or delegitimizing questions considered ‘uncomfortable’ does not fall within the practice of democracy.”

Comedian Druski, who is black, is being criticized for disguising himself in “whiteface” and filming himself pretending to be a racist NASCAR fan.
The 30-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Andrew Desbordes, covered his face and upper body in very realistic paint to make himself appear to be a Caucasian man with a farmer’s tan sunburn. He wore no shirt under a pair of overalls, and accentuated the look with an American flag cowboy hat, American flag tattoos, a mullet, and a beard and mustache combo.
Clips of the skit have gone viral, with the X clip of the bit racking up 84 million views.

The comedian targets certain people in the video, spitting at the feet of a passing black man and stopping another black man to say, “Are you lost, boy?” and spitting again. 
“Here’s to love. Here’s to honor. If you can’t come in her, come on her,” Desbordes says in a mock toast in the clip. The comedian also shouts the lyrics to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” while driving in a vehicle. 
Reactions to the skit were mixed in the comments, including from Druski’s fans.
“Notice how no white folk acted like you were? And WHY did you spit at the feet of black people? I wish you would go back and ask them how many times that happened that day — you treated them worse than any white person did I assure you,” one popular comment <a href="https://x.com/ThinkArchimedes/status/1963020832143196176">said</a>. “Always have to invent the racism.”
“So what you’re telling me is that blackface is back in style now?” one person <a href="https://x.com/chooseliberty_/status/1963268412081139755">wondered</a>.
Others supported the skit.
“If you can’t laugh at this, you’re a loser,” one person argued.
“Best video on the internet,” another commenter agreed.
“Deadass, some of y’all will find racism in literally everything and that’s pathetic,” another person <a href="https://x.com/saintz_tweet/status/1963040809919640025">said</a>. “If you’re really out here calling Druski racist, it just shows how slow and hypocritical y’all are. Bro’s just doing the classic Key &amp; Peele move … holding up a mirror to white folks acting extra. Like, it’s comedy, not a hate crime.”
