Patty Morin, whose daughter Rachel, a mother of five, was raped and murdered by El Salvadoran illegal immigrant Victor Martinez-Hernandez in 2023, condemned Democrats for championing the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 member whom the Trump administration deported to El Salvador, while ignoring her pain and never reaching out to her.
Morin spoke of the White House press briefing last week at which she spoke, telling <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/video/6371804501112">Fox News Digital</a>, “People were literally shoulder to shoulder cameras, microphones everything going and as soon as I get up to the podium, everyone shut off their cameras; everyone shut off their microphones.”
“People don’t realize what actually happened to my daughter,” she said. “And during the trial, and before the investigation, they only gave us an outline; they didn’t give us details. And during the trial, we actually saw the crime scene photos and the autopsy photos and they had so many expert witnesses come in and testify to this horrendous, gruesome brutal murder, this thing that happened to my daughter. And so I went in and I described, summarized, what had happened to her. She was dragged 150 feet; they followed a 150-foot blood trail to the culvert where her body was. Her body was outlined in blood. The silhouette of her body is against the tunnel ball outlined in the blood that was gushing from her head. She was raped. She was strangled. There wasn’t a part of her body that didn’t have some kind of bruise, abrasion, cut some kind of abuse to it.”
“And none of them had their recorders on or their cameras on because they didn’t want the American people to know how violent these crimes are and how rampant they are,” she stated. “There’s only one or two maybe three that have hit the headlines, but there are thousands of these stories all over America that aren’t being covered because either 1) the family is ashamed; 2) law-enforcement doesn’t wanna cause a panic, and 3) it’s usually blue states or Democrats that wanna downplay it because for some reason, they are profiting in some way from having these 20 million illegal immigrants in our country.”
“I had somebody just this past weekend come up to me and said that there has been migrant crime going on in Maryland and in our county for decades,” she recalled. “He cited one that happened 20 years ago and he said people don’t realize that that was a migrant crime because media and law enforcement kind of played it down.”
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) flew to El Salvador last week and met with Garcia. Democrat Reps. Robert Garcia of California, Maxwell Frost of Florida, Yassamin Ansari of Arizona and Maxine Dexter of Oregon flew there on Monday.
“It’s been about 20 months since my daughter was murdered; it’s been about ten months that we’ve known it’s been an illegal immigrant, and in all this time, President Biden never reached out; Kamala Harris never reached out; Mayorkas never reached out,” Morin said. “Senators here in Maryland have not reached out at all. And it’s been almost 20 months, total. So their silence and their actions or lack of actions speak volumes to their character and the values that they hold. And as an American citizen, as a Maryland citizen, and as a mom, it tells me that I‘m not important or valuable, and that an illegal immigrant — that means he’s broken federal law by coming into the country and staying here, has broken state law by coming to the country and staying here, and then beating his wife, it’s in court; he’s broken other state laws — they would rather champion his cause, a criminal, than the victim. I think it is utterly despicable.”

President Donald Trump ripped the legacy media on Friday, saying that it has focused its coverage on a deported Salvadoran man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, while ignoring the grieving mother of Rachel Morin, a Maryland woman who was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant in 2023.
For weeks, Democratic politicians and the legacy media have been zeroed in on the case of Abrego Garcia, who was deported to El Salvador by the Trump administration despite a 2019 court order prohibiting him from being sent back to the country. Trump addressed the deportation of Abrego Garcia while speaking to the media during the swearing-in ceremony for Dr. Mehmet Oz, the new administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve been hit pretty hard by fake shows, fake news, MSDNC in particular,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Where they talk about how evil I am that this man would be thrown out of our country, who is, according to certified statements that we got, a very violent person. And they want this man to be brought back into our country where he can be free.&#8221;
&#8220;Who they don&#8217;t talk about is that wonderful &#8216;Angel Mom,&#8217; who lost her daughter,&#8221; Trump added, referring to Patty Morin, who was the White House&#8217;s special guest in the briefing room on Wednesday.
&#8220;She spoke unbelievably, I saw it, and the fake news didn&#8217;t pick it up,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;She spoke through tears. She&#8217;s devastated. She&#8217;s told me her life is like over.&#8221;
Morin <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-the-briefing-room-an-angel-mom-begs-white-house-media-to-tell-the-truth-about-illegal-crime" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called out reporters</a> in the briefing room, urging them to “tell the truth” about the violent criminals that the Biden administration&#8217;s border policies allowed into the United States.
“It’s more than politics,” she said. “It’s about national security. It’s about protecting Americans. It’s about protecting our children.”
The Trump administration maintains that Abrego Garcia is a member of the violent MS-13 gang and poses a danger to the United States and its citizens. An immigration judge in 2019 ordered that the Salvadoran man living in Maryland be deported, citing his alleged ties to MS-13, but prohibited the federal government from sending him back to El Salvador, where Abrego Garcia feared persecution. Some confusion remains about the judge&#8217;s order, as some argue that it granted Abrego Garcia legal protections to remain in the United States despite having entered the country illegally.
Abrego Garcia&#8217;s case has gone to the courts, and U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis has given the Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-has-2-weeks-to-show-steps-taken-for-returning-salvadoran-man-judge-orders?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Admin+Has+2+Weeks+To+Show+Steps+Taken+For+Returning+Salvadoran+Man%2C+Judge+Orders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">two weeks</a> to prove that it has taken steps to return him to the United States. During a meeting in the Oval Office earlier this week, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele said that it is “preposterous” to suggest that his government would send Abrego Garcia back to the United States.
During the press conference on Friday, Trump read from a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/deported-illegal-immigrant-who-dems-have-championed-accused-of-beating-wife-court-docs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">restraining order</a> that accused Abrego Garcia of being violent toward his wife, who is quoted in the order as saying she was afraid to be near him. Abrego Garcia&#8217;s wife, Sura, recently said the couple was &#8220;able to work through this situation privately as a family, including by going to counseling.&#8221; Sura is now advocating for Abrego Garcia&#8217;s return.
&#8220;This is the man that the Democrats are wanting us to fly back from El Salvador to be a happily ensconced member of the USA family,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Isn&#8217;t it a shame?&#8221;

Conservative non-profit Building America’s Future (BAF) launched a six-figure media campaign blasting President Joe Biden’s dangerous open borders.
The group announced that the spot, titled “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEgA7BmFLT8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Again,</a>” will bracket the upcoming presidential debate on Thursday between Biden and former President Donald Trump, running from Wed. June 26-Friday June 28, a press release obtained by The Daily Wire read. The ad was also posted on <a href="https://x.com/bldgUSAfuture/status/1805962118732140782" target="_blank" rel="noopener">X</a> with the hashtag &#8220;Say Her Name.&#8221;
The 60-second <a href="https://x.com/bldgUSAfuture/status/1805962118732140782" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ad</a> focused on how Biden’s border policy details the story of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/rachel-morin">Rachel Morin</a>, a mother of five from Maryland, who was jogging last summer and was allegedly raped and killed “at the hands of [Victor Antonio Martinez]-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, who was arrested and charged<a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/06/18/victor-hernandez-arrest-rachel-morin-murder-suspect/74136713007/"> last week,</a>” the release read.
“Again” follows “Run,”  Building America’s Future’s<a href="https://twitter.com/bldgUSAfuture/status/1765736294863315421/video/1"> viral ad</a> featuring Laken Riley, who was also jogging when she was killed by an illegal immigrant, that aired during Biden’s State of the Union,” the release added. “Run” garnered<a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/cnn-refuses-to-air-state-of-the-union-ad-blaming-biden-for-murder-of-laken-riley/"> even more attention after CNN</a> was the only major cable network that refused to air it.&#8221;

During the ad, various news clips run sharing details about Morin’s murder allegedly by “illegal immigrant&#8221; Hernandez, who &#8220;was wanted for murder… but Biden let him in,&#8221; the ad read.
“Rachel Morin. Laken Riley. And countless others,” the message in the ad concludes. “They should be alive. Joe Biden’s open border — a nightmare for American women.”
It will run in seven key battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, the release noted. Portions of the ad will also be displayed on Billboards and in 2D projections on famous buildings in the metro areas of Atlanta, Georgia, Greensboro, North Carolina,  and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the release noted.

Former President Trump called to offer condolences to Patty Morin, the mother of Rachel Morin, the mother of five who was allegedly raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, prompting a very different reaction than her response to the Biden administration’s seeming indifference to her pain.
Patty Morin revealed on Wednesday that no one in the Biden administration had reached out to her after the arrest of Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, 23, who was arrested last Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape in Rachel Morin’s death. Morin was murdered while she was reportedly jogging on the Ma and Pa hiking trail in Bel Air, Maryland last August.
“I am deeply touched by President Trump’s kindness and concern,” Patty Morin stated, according to <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/06/20/us-news/donald-trump-calls-mom-of-slain-jogger-rachel-morin-deeply-touched/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Post</a>. “He was genuine and truly wanted to know how our family was coping. He asked about Rachel and showed honest compassion for her untimely death. His words brought comfort to me during this very difficult time.”
On Tuesday, CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, “What do you say to critics who blame the administration for allowing something like this to happen? Obviously this is something you hear in Right-wing media all the time.”
Mayorkas refused to refer to Rachel Morin by name, answering, “Jim, first and foremost, of course our hearts break for the children, the family, the loved ones, the friends of the individual who was murdered — the woman — the mother. Jim, a criminal is responsible for the criminal act. The criminal who committed this heinous act should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law, and forcefully so. That is my response.”
On Wednesday, Patty Morin <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rachel-morins-mom-blasts-mayorkas-description-slain-daughter-illegal-immigrant-suspect-nabbed" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blasted</a> Mayorkas, saying, “It’s a completely political statement &#8230; It totally depersonalizes her and makes her an object. &#8230; No one has contacted me personally and as far as I know, no one has reached out and contacted anyone in the family. &#8230; to categorize her as a statistic, it just shows how impersonal they are and how they don’t value life.”
“They just seem to be disconnected completely from what is happening at the southern border and how it is affecting Americans,” Morin family attorney Randolph Rice added. “They are hemorrhaging at the southern border and they’re arguing about what kind of band-aid to put on it when instead they should be putting a tourniquet on it and stopping this flow so that we don’t have another Rachel Morin.”
