According to the official record of the <a href="https://people.com/kate-middleton-quietly-returns-to-work-for-first-time-since-cancer-treatment-8714350">Royal family’s activities</a>, the Princess of Wales was present at a meeting at Windsor Castle with those from her Center for Early Childhood team and Kensington Palace staff.
“The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle,” the event entry, per The <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/09/17/princess-of-wales-returns-to-work-early-childhood-project/?ICID=continue_without_subscribing_reg_first">Telegraph</a>, read in the report on Tuesday.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Middleton said. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.” 
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” she added. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.” 
“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted,” Middleton continued. “Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus.”

British royal <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/prince-william">Prince William</a>’s annual salary has been revealed in a newly published report. 
The heir to the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/united-kingdom">British</a> throne was given the title <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/royal-family">Duke of Cornwall</a> following his father King Charles III’s ascension to the throne in 2022. Prior to this, William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, served as queen for a record-breaking 70 years and 214 days.
Prince William received a salary of $30 million as part of his first full year&#8217;s income from the Duchy of Cornwall estate, which he inherited from his father along with his new title. The number comes courtesy of the Integrated Annual Report, which the Duchy of Cornwall published Thursday. The document revealed a distributable surplus of £23.6 million ($30.4 million) for the 2023-2024 financial year from rents and investments, per <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/prince-william-princess-kate-thirty-million-dollar-payday-1929067">Newsweek</a>.
While this number represents a £400,000 ($516,485) decrease from last year, this is the first year Prince William and his wife Catherine received the full amount. 
The duchy holds more than $1 billion in property holdings across 52,250 hectares (just over 129,112 acres) of land and more than $100 million in financial assets. The outlet noted that the inherited nature of the estate and the origins of the property have become controversial topics.
The organization noted how the surplus income &#8220;meets the cost of the official, charitable, and private lives of their royal highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.&#8221;
The Independent <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/prince-william-king-charles-tax-royal-family-b2585121.html">noted</a> that Prince William refused to disclose the exact amount of taxes he paid on the income. Kensington Palace said only that Prince William had paid the “appropriate” amount and had decided not to publish details beyond “what was required.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales have been dealing with a recent medical diagnosis which necessitated Catherine undergoing cancer treatments and stepping back from her public duties as a working royal. 
She <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-shares-update-on-battle-against-cancer">said in June</a> that she has been “blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement” that she and her family received from the public since announcing her diagnosis.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting,” the Princess of Wales said at the time. “But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” she continued. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

The 42-year-old wife of United Kingdom heir apparent Prince William announced earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cancer">cancer</a> and was going through treatments. Middleton originally stepped back from her role in public life in January as she was having abdominal surgery. Cancer was discovered at that time, royal reps said.
Most details about the Princess of Wales’s condition have been kept quiet, but the palace issued a rare update this week confirming that she won’t be returning to her public role anytime soon.
&#8220;The princess is not expected to return to work until it&#8217;s cleared by her medical team,&#8221; a spokesperson for Middleton said Monday, per <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/princess-kate-cancer-update-kensington-palace-1902896">Newsweek</a>. &#8220;Early childhood will continue to be central to her public work.&#8221;
Speculation about the royal’s return heated up recently after Princess Kate’s main cause, the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, published  a new report identifying a potential £45 billion ($57 billion) boost to the U.K. economy through investing in early childhood, the outlet noted. 
The report detailed  “Prioritizing early childhood for a happier, healthier society&#8221; but did not include a statement from Middleton or mention her involvement. 
The foundation is one of several ventures the Princess of Wales is involved in that deal with early childhood, which Kensington Palace confirmed is still the royal family member’s focus when she returns. 
Middleton broke her silence in March to reveal her cancer diagnosis after weeks of fan and media speculation about her health.

She also asked for her family to have “some time, space and privacy” while she completes her treatment and is then able to focus on making her “full recovery.”
While she never addressed exactly what kind of cancer she’s dealing with, she closed out her message sending love to all “those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

A new <a href="https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/49089-kate-middleton-now-uks-most-popular-royal">British YouGov</a> poll &#8212; taken between February and April &#8212; shows that at the start of February, the Prince of Wales led the rest of the royals as the most favored member of the family, with 77%, followed by the Princess of Wales with 74%.
However, those numbers switched by the start of April after Middleton&#8217;s prerecorded video message to the world announcing she&#8217;s battling cancer discovered after she underwent &#8220;major abdominal surgery&#8221; in January. Princess Kate now leads the pack with 76%, followed by her royal husband with 73%, the poll showed. Princess Anne gets the title of third most favored royal with 71%, beating out King Charles III, who scored 63%, the poll noted.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are mentioned much further down the poll as some of the least favored royals, with the Duke of Sussex getting 31% favorability, beating out his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, with only 26% of the vote. The two did manage to beat out scandal-ridden Prince Andrew, who only got a favorability of 6% from those polled in the nation.
It is unclear from the information provided how many people were polled for the survey.

Inevitably, there are still going to be all sorts of theories that surface, but this seems to legitimately explain her disappearance. Apparently their children were ending their school term before the Easter recess and they wanted to wait to tell them first — before any media firestorm that the future queen of England has cancer. At the same time, the current king of England, King Charles, has cancer, so this obviously puts a lot of pressure on Prince William.
Some Americans are going to question why everyone is so invested in these people’s lives. They will say, “We haven’t cared about these people since 1776.” But, first of all, I care just because the Princess of Wales seems like a lovely woman. She is a dignified woman. And we should all pray for her and her recovery, as well as for King Charles.

But why do Americans care? It is obvious that they do. This news has not just been trending in the British tabloids; American tabloids have covered it as well. So, why does monarchy, or aspects of monarchy, endure throughout history?
We kid ourselves in the United States to believe we removed the monarchy. I was at the State of the Union just two weeks ago, and there was much pomp and circumstance. Obviously the American president is not a king, but we have had American presidents who effectively have been kings. Notably, Franklin Roosevelt was the American monarch, reigning for four terms and dying in office. Good luck trying to distinguish him from any supposed autocratic leaders of his age or even from a proper monarch, just on pure aesthetics alone.
Why is that enduring? Because we live in society. That is what politics is. And we need representatives. Even in democracy, we need representatives. That&#8217;s why we call our system of government a representative democracy.
But we have one particular representative in the United States, which is the president. People don&#8217;t get all that jazzed about their congressmen, nor their senators. But people get really fired up about their presidential candidates and their presidents because it&#8217;s just human nature — and as humans, we care about people. We cultivate and form our desires based on the desires of other people. We follow leaders. That&#8217;s just how it works.
Now, one of the problems with the monarchy is that there are some dodgy characters in it, like Prince Andrew gallivanting with Jeffrey Epstein. Then there were the scandals in the 90s with Prince Charles and Princess Diana. However, William and Catherine seem to be quite dignified. If the British monarchy is able to survive, it will be because of that.
This is something to look for, even in our own personal lives. Catherine is dignified. People like her. They like her more than they like Meghan Markle because Markle is not dignified at all. In fact, she is extremely undignified. Yet with Catherine, even after people had suggested her husband was cheating on her, alleged she was dead, and created such terrible theories about her, the Princess of Wales gave a dignified message, thanking people for their care and concern. That kind of dignified behavior is attractive, especially in an age that is extremely undignified and downright shameless.
So we pray for her recovery, and perhaps we ought to try to emulate a little bit of that grace and dignity.

But test results later showed that she had cancer.

Princess Kate said it has not only taken time for her to recover from major surgery so she can start the chemo, but it&#8217;s also taken them &#8220;time to explain everything&#8221; to their three children &#8220;George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.&#8221;
The Princess then said that she is &#8220;well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits&#8221; and said having her husband by her side has been a huge &#8220;source of comfort and reassurance too.&#8221; 
She also asked for her family to have &#8220;some time, space and privacy&#8221; while she completes her treatment and is then able to focus on making her &#8220;full recovery.&#8221;
While she never addressed exactly what kind of cancer she&#8217;s dealing with, she closed out her message sending love to all &#8220;those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.&#8221;

A U.K. hospital is reportedly dealing with a security breach by a staffer following <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kate-middleton">Kate Middleton&#8217;</a>s abdominal surgery in January.
On Wednesday, the CEO of the London Clinic said it will take &#8220;regulatory and disciplinary steps&#8221; against the member of the staff who allegedly breached the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-reportedly-spotted-looking-happy-healthy">Princess of Wales&#8217;</a> medical records.
&#8220;Everyone at the London Clinic is acutely aware of our individual, professional, ethical and legal duties with regards to patient confidentiality,&#8221; Al Russell said in a statement to the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/03/20/world-news/ceo-of-london-clinic-speaks-out-on-kate-middleton-document-breach-probe/">New York Post</a>.
&#8220;We take enormous pride in the outstanding care and discretion we aim to deliver for all our patients that put their trust in us every day,&#8221; the statement added.
The statement said it has &#8220;systems in place to monitor [the] management of patient information,&#8221; and that if there were a breach, &#8220;all appropriate investigatory, regulatory and disciplinary steps will be taken. There is no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or colleagues.&#8221;

The world has become obsessed with the current status of Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, all thanks to a photo editing fail.
The duchess spent a lot of time in the public eye as the wife of heir apparent to the British throne, Prince William. For years, Kate’s been attending events looking put-together and smiling, even posing for photos – <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2018/04/23/how-does-duchess-kate-do/543533002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in high heels</a> – hours after giving birth to the couple’s third child, Prince Louis.

Her strength and resilience are part of what is feeding the online conspiracy theorists who are convinced something awful has happened to the Princess of Wales. Kensington Palace first announced in January that the duchess would be taking a break from public appearances as she recovered from “abdominal surgery.” From the very first moments, followers wondered about the vague wording and the extended recovery time.
“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” a press release from January 17 said. “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”
“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” it said. “She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”
The only other detail given was that her condition was “non-cancerous.”
A second statement released on January 29 assured fans that Kate was “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-returns-home-from-hospital-after-surgery-making-good-progress">making good progress</a>” with her recovery and would be returning home to finish recuperating.

Followers started circulating all kinds of theories about why the Princess of Wales was off duty for so long. Their obsession became so extreme that Kensington Palace put out another statement on February 29 reiterating that Kate would be out until Easter, as they said, and that everyone should just calm down.
“Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the Princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates. That guidance still stands,” the tersely worded statement said.
Perhaps the speculation would have died out or at least stayed under the radar if not for the complete PR disaster that occurred on March 10, which is when Mother’s Day is celebrated in the United Kingdom.
Kate shared a photo of herself and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louise, in honor of the holiday. “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months,” the Instagram image caption said. “Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.”

Almost immediately, viewers noticed that there was visible editing done in the photo resulting in part of Princess Charlotte’s sleeve disappearing completely. The edits were so egregious that three major news agencies issued a “kill notice” on the photo due to it being digitally altered.
“AP initially published the photo, which was issued by Kensington Palace. But AP later retracted the image because at closer inspection, it appeared the source had manipulated the image in a way that did not meet AP’s photo standards,” the agency wrote at the time. “The photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand.”
Agence France-Presse (AFP), one of the biggest news agencies in the world, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/afp-news-agency-says-kensington-palace-isnt-trusted-source-after-princess-kate-photo-scandal">said</a> the photo made it so Kensington Palace was no longer a trusted source. The organization’s global news director Phil Chetwynd told BBC Radio 4 that “kill notices” for photos are used rarely, and are usually done with content coming out of Iran or North Korea.
“One thing that’s really important is you cannot be distorting reality for the public,” Chetwynd said. “There’s a question of trust. And the big issue here is one of trust, and the lack of trust and the falling trust of the general public in institutions generally and in the media. And so it’s extremely important that a photo does represent broadly the reality that it’s seen in.&#8221;
After the extreme backlash, Kensington Palace issued an apology directly from Kate.

However, sources from the news agencies reported that the Palace refused any requests for the original photo.
Within hours of the photo drama playing out across the internet, scores of royal sleuths started putting forth their theories, which spread like wildfire on social media. Kate was dead! She was in a coma! Or perhaps she was recovering from horribly disfiguring cosmetic surgery. None of the wildest theories seemed likely, yet the Palace’s refusal to share the original photo just helped add fuel to the fire.
Some conspiracy theorists even dreamt up a tale of Kate having a nervous breakdown because her husband was cheating with her ex-friend Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, referencing unsubstantiated <a href="https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a60185991/prince-william-rose-hanbury-affair-rumors-kate-middleton-conspiracy-theories/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">affair rumors</a> that went viral in 2019.
It didn’t help that two other times the duchess was spotted in public, the photos weren’t very clear. First was the week before the photo debacle when Kate was seen, in a pair of sunglasses, in the passenger seat of her mother’s car. The second time photographers caught a photo of the back of Kate’s head as she rode in a car with Prince William.

Now another news report from The Sun says Kate was spotted out shopping over the weekend near her home in Windsor on Saturday, looking “happy, relaxed and healthy.” There are no photos or named sources, but that’s the story being given.
“Kate [Middleton] was out shopping with William and she looked happy and she looked well,” an unnamed source told the outlet, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-reportedly-spotted-looking-happy-healthy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. “The kids weren’t with them but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.”
The source added, “After all the rumors that had been going round I was stunned to see them there.”
There’s a good chance the rumors will keep swirling until Easter when the Princess of Wales makes her return to public duties. In the meantime, she’ll likely want to leave the photo editing to the professionals.

The Princess of Wales was reportedly joined by her husband, Prince William, on an outing to the Windsor Farm Shop, about a mile from their Adelaide Cottage. This was her first public outing since undergoing abdominal surgery, as reported by the British tabloid, <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/royals/26750949/princess-kate-windsor-farm-shop-william/">The Sun</a>. However, the article did not name its sources or publish new photographs.
&#8220;Kate [Middleton] was out shopping with William and she looked happy and she looked well,&#8221; an unnamed onlooker told the outlet. &#8220;The kids weren&#8217;t with them but it&#8217;s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.&#8221;
The onlooker added, &#8220;After all the rumors that had been going round I was stunned to see them there.&#8221;
According to The Sun, the royal couple spent Saturday morning watching their three children play sports. 
Speculation about Princess Kate&#8217;s health and whereabouts reached a fever pitch last week after Kensington Palace shared a family photo of Middleton and her children in honor of U.K. Mother&#8217;s Day. However, hours after it appeared in publications, the Associated Press issued a &#8220;kill notification&#8221; on the photo it <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-apologizes-for-manipulated-photo-after-ap-retracts-publication">said</a> had been &#8220;manipulated.&#8221;

Later, the palace acknowledged the photo had been edited. A message from Middleton on <a href="https://x.com/KensingtonRoyal/status/1767135566645092616?s=20">X</a> read, &#8220;Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother&#8217;s Day.&#8221;
The palace has still refused to release the original photo. Middleton was last photographed in public at Christmastime. 
In January, Kensington Palace released a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-middleton-undergoes-surgery-will-remain-in-hospital-for-2-weeks">statement</a> saying that the Princess of Wales would remain in the hospital for up to two weeks before being released to continue her recovery at home. The statement said she would not return to royal public duties until after Easter.
