<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 57-year-old Canadian-born model and </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities"><span style="font-weight: 400;">actress</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is best known for appearing in Playboy magazine in the 90s, multiple breast implant surgeries, and her standout role as C.J. Parker on “Baywatch.” Anderson also went viral in 1995 after a sex tape of her and then-husband, Tommy Lee, was stolen and distributed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The actress surprised fans recently by making public appearances without makeup, which is a far departure from the sex symbol, makeup-heavy look she’d become known for. Anderson discussed changing her look while promoting her upcoming cookbook.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The interviewer from </span><a href="https://www.bhg.com/the-stylemaker-issue-pamela-anderson-8678007"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Better Homes &amp; Gardens</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> asked specifically about Anderson going makeup-free, to which she replied, “That was the beginning of me letting go of the image I had always had of myself. What is this cartoon character that I’d created? OK, that was fun. But I’m not that person anymore.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She continued, “It was a dance I was doing that I was only partly aware of. And looking back, I can see why I did it. But I’ve always been into being a homemaker too.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The actress said, “All the kids were always at our house. I cooked for everybody, pots of spaghetti for the neighborhood, and so my kids have always seen that part of me. And it hurt them to think that those other things are the only things people think of their mom. Yes, she’s been in Playboy. Yes, she’s done all these things, but we know who she is. It’s different now.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anderson also discussed what it was like for her before. &#8220;I don’t know what happened over the last few decades, but I feel now so far removed from the image of who I was. I felt very sad and lonely,” she told BHG. “I didn’t feel just misunderstood. I felt like I had really screwed up, that my whole life was a bundle of mistakes,&#8221; the former “Baywatch” star added.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I was hard on myself, and I thought I put my family through a lot and put my kids through so much. I came to a point where I decided to move home and disappear and get into my garden.&#8221;</span></p>

<p>Marlene Schiappa, who serves as the secretary of state in charge of the Social and Solidarity Economy in France, made her name by championing legislation to outlaw catcalling and street harassment of women.</p>
<p>Now she&#8217;s set to appear in Playboy, the nudie magazine. One photo released from the April 8 edition shows Schiappa in a low-cut white bodysuit that exposes her cleavage and spread legs.</p>
<p>Four photos will be accompanied by 12 pages of text, in which Schiappa, 40, will muse on women&#8217;s rights and feminism. The mother of two defended her decision to pose for Playboy in a Twitter <a href="https://twitter.com/MarleneSchiappa/status/1642166509630898177">post</a> on Saturday.</p>
<p>“Defending the right of women to have control of their bodies, that’s everywhere and all the time. In France, women are free. With all due respect to the detractors and hypocrites,&#8221; she wrote.</p>
<p>So she&#8217;s appearing in Playboy in various states of undress after spearheading a law to ban harassment of women? Talk about hypocrites.</p>

<p>Under her anti-harassment law, men who catcall women could face immediate fines of up to $871.</p>
<p>&#8220;What’s key is … that the laws of the French republic forbid insulting, intimidating, threatening and following women in public spaces,” Schiappa said in 2018 when the law was passed, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/04/03/french-pol-marlene-schiappa-blasted-for-playboy-cover/">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Some female leaders in France were not at all happy with Schiappa&#8217;s decision to appear in the girlie magazine.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne told Schiappa that her decision &#8220;was not at all appropriate, especially in the current period,&#8221; the BBC <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-65163135">reported</a>.</p>
<p>France has been in the throes of revolution after President Emmanuel Macron unilaterally raised the retirement age by two years. Hundreds of thousands have taken to the streets, and garbagemen have refused to pick up trash for weeks.</p>
<p>Macron rammed the age hike through using Article 49.3 — which just so happens to be featured on Schiappa’s cleavage in the Playboy photo. That article grants executive privilege to pass a bill without a vote in parliament.</p>
<p>One politician complained about the politician&#8217;s tin ear.</p>
<p>“We are in the middle of a social crisis, there is a subject on the maintenance of order, there are people between life and death, and I have the impression of a smokescreen,&#8221; said Sandrine Rousseau, deputy to the National Assembly for Paris&#8217;s 9th constituency.</p>
<p>&#8220;Where is the respect of the French people, of the people who are going to have to work two more years, who demonstrate, who lose days of wages, who cannot eat because of inflation,&#8221; she said, <a href="https://www.leparisien.fr/politique/schiappa-en-une-de-playboy-pas-du-tout-approprie-dans-le-contexte-actuel-deplore-elisabeth-borne-01-04-2023-XZTFKKQRIRDCJN4ZVCK4XJIPQQ.php?dicbo=v2-0HhyUo2">according</a> to Le Parisien.</p>
<p>&#8220;Women&#8217;s bodies should be able to be exposed anywhere, I don&#8217;t have a problem with that, but there&#8217;s a social context,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>And maybe, just maybe, appearing scantily clad in a nudie magazine isn&#8217;t the best approach to sell policy.</p>

<p>Hollywood star Pamela Anderson said it&#8217;s been &#8220;therapeutic&#8221; going through what she called the archives of her life for her upcoming book — and said it has given her strength to realize all that she has &#8220;survived.&#8221;</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-not-a-victim-but-a-survivor-pamela-anderson-teases-real-story-in-netflix-doc-after-unauthorized-biography-pam-tommy">55-year-old</a> Canadian actress/model shared on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CmuIw5IPIcM/">Instagram</a> that she&#8217;s &#8220;poured&#8221; her &#8220;heart into&#8221; her new memoir — titled, &#8220;Love, Pamela&#8221; — that comes out in January.</p>
<p>&#8220;Most people&#8217;s lives go unrecorded, or worse, unlived,&#8221; Anderson shared in quotes. &#8220;It&#8217;s quite therapeutic going through the archives.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve survived,&#8221; she added. &#8220;It&#8217;s almost like I lived my life to write about it.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve poured my heart into my book — Love, Pamela — and I can&#8217;t wait for you all to read it,&#8221; the former &#8220;Baywatch&#8221; star continued.</p>

<p>The former Playboy Bunny previously told <a href="https://people.com/movies/pamela-anderson-book-cover-memoir-love-pamela-exclusive/">People</a> magazine that her memoir is a &#8220;raw, unpolished attempt — a very personal true account of my life, from my first memory to my last.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;These are all my feelings, about my life — no &#8216;Woe is me,&#8217; though some times were tough,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I made it through and had to find love in grace and dignity mixed with humor, acceptance, and forgiveness.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;Ghostbusters&#8221; actress Kymberly Herrin has died at the age of 65 in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California, family members confirmed.</p>
<p>The model/actress, who is probably best known for her role in the blockbuster ghost-busting movie for seducing co-star Dan Ackroyd in the &#8220;Dream Ghost&#8221; girl role, died on October 28, the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11436355/Playboy-Playmate-Kymberly-Herrin-dies-65-family-asks-American-Cancer-Society-donations.html">Daily Mail</a> reported Wednesday. At the time of this publication, no cause of death has yet been released.</p>
<p>Herrin is also known for her work in several &#8217;80s blockbuster hit movies including the Patrick Swayze-led 1989 movie &#8220;Road House,&#8221; &#8220;Romancing The Stone&#8221; in 1984 alongside such stars as Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito and in Eddie Murphy&#8217;s &#8220;Beverly Hills Cop II&#8221; in 1987.</p>
<p>Herrin also appeared in several music videos by the band ZZ Top such as &#8220;Legs&#8221; in 1984, &#8220;Gimmie All Your Lovin&#8221; in 1983 and that same year in the rocking group&#8217;s &#8220;Sharp Dressed Man,&#8221; according to the movie site <a href="https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0380641/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1">IMDb</a>. The model was a former Playboy Playmate, too, having appeared on the magazine&#8217;s cover in September 1982.</p>
<p>The last acting role she&#8217;s credited with is from a role in &#8220;Squanders&#8221; in 1996, with most of her work taking place a decade before.</p>

<p>Her family said they are asking fans who want to recognize Herrin to donate to the American Cancer Society in her honor, according to her obituary in the <a href="https://newspress.com/herrin-kymberly-ellen/">Santa Barbara News-Press</a>. The actress was born and lived most of her life in the coastal town in Southern California.</p>
<p>Theresa Ramirez, the actress&#8217; niece, shared a touching photo on Facebook remembering her aunt and Kimberly&#8217;s two sisters who are also now deceased, the outlet noted.</p>
<p>&#8220;They are all together now,&#8221; Ramirez captioned her post. &#8220;[broken heart emoji] Aunt Kymberly Herrin [heart emoji]. I love you.&#8221;</p>
<p>She is reportedly survived by her two nieces, along with several nephews as well as numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Even as multiple women accuse the late </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/playboy"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Playboy</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> founder </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hugh-hefner"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hugh Hefner</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> of sexual depravity, at least one person is coming to his defense. </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kate Moss</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> claims she saw no examples of bad behavior during her visit to Hefner’s famous Southern California mansion.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 48-year-old supermodel made her assertions during a recent </span><a href="https://www.vogue.co.uk/beauty/article/kate-moss-cosmoss"><span style="font-weight: 400;">interview</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> with British Vogue. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Well, I met Hugh Hefner, I went to his house. I really liked him and he was there with his kids and a few of his bunnies and one of his bunnies took me round the house and gave me a tour and stuff,” she told the publication of visiting the Playboy Mansion in 2013 while shooting for the cover and an 18-page spread in the magazine.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I met his secretary who’d been with him for like 70 years, they’re just like a lovely institution or something, family vibes. I don’t know, I really liked it, there was nothing like seedy or gross about it. It was kind of really playful,” Moss continued. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Plenty of other mansion visitors tell a different story, however. Many claims were recently made with the release of the 10-part A&amp;E network docuseries “Secrets of Playboy,” which included interviews with Hefner’s former girlfriends and employees. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia described the overall atmosphere as toxic, The Daily Wire previously </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/playboy-responds-to-claims-of-bestiality-other-atrocities-by-hugh-hefner-revealed-in-secrets-of-playboy-docuseries"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reported</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She said, “It was cult-like. The women had been groomed and led to believe they were part of this family. [Hefner] really did believe he owned these women. We had Playmates that overdosed, that committed suicide.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Many documentary participants said Hefner was so desensitized to sexual acts that he demanded bizarre situations to become aroused. The documentary participants accused the media mogul of watching snuff films and engaging in sex acts with animals.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Former Playboy bunnies and “The Girls Next Door” stars Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt recently launched a podcast called “Girls Next Level” which explores more details about their time as Hefner’s live-in girlfriends. The women claim that they were reluctant participants in orgies and other sex sessions.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Madison claims she was drunk the first time she had sex with Hefner and that the “whole experience” was “traumatic” for her. She and Marquardt also alleged that Hefner would </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hugh-hefners-ex-girlfriends-say-former-playboy-founder-would-fake-cry-to-get-his-way-with-a-girl"><span style="font-weight: 400;">fake cry</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to get his way, including when it came to having sex with the women in the mansion.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“It was insanity and something I would have never expected from a cultural icon,” Madison said. “I just had this idea in my mind of what I thought Hеf was gonna be based on what he&#8217;d accomplished … and he&#8217;s a fake crier.”</span></p>

<p>&#8220;Like, if we were emotional about something or asking for something, he would start fake crying and it was such bad acting and so obvious,&#8221; she added. &#8220;For the longest time I never talked to anybody about it because I thought maybe I was the only one noticing this.&#8221;</p>

<p>The first time Madison had sex with Hefner, a girl the pair dubbed the &#8220;recruiter&#8221; for anonymity, beckoned Hefner to take Madison with multiple other girls in the room.</p>
<p>&#8220;Daddy, do you want to get the new girl?&#8221; the girl allegedly posed to Hefner. At the time, Madison said she was extremely drunk and naked on end of the bed, where numerous vibrators were laid out.</p>
<p>&#8220;And I s*** you not, next thing I know, he&#8217;s on top of me,&#8221; she recalled. &#8220;And then I don&#8217;t even remember what else happened the rest of the night.&#8221;</p>
<p>Madison said she knew she had to move in after she had sex with Hefner. &#8220;There was no other option for me at that point,&#8221; she said, adding that within two days she was moved in.</p>
<p>The former bunny said the &#8220;whole experience&#8221; was &#8220;traumatic&#8221; for her, emphasizing that she didn&#8217;t know she was going to have sex with Hefner that night. Madison added that she felt particularly betrayed by the recruiter.</p>
<p>“I just remember feeling so gross and so used,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I felt like this girl was being so nice to me and so welcoming, but really I was just another piece of meat for her to throw under him so she looks better.&#8221;</p>
<p>In a past documentary, Madison revealed that Hefner did not want the women to use protection during their sexual encounters.</p>
<p>“It was really gross to me how Hef didn’t want to use protection,” she said, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/08/22/playboy-bunnies-fed-to-hef-like-meat-in-gross-hoarder-orgy-room/">highlighted</a>. “I never expected to be the first person to have sex that night or to be pushed into it. I definitely felt humiliated by it.”</p>
<p>For Marquardt&#8217;s part, she said she felt forced to participate in the sexual activity and wanted to get it over with “as quickly as possible.” It was a “10-second thing,&#8221; she added.</p>
<p>Earlier in the podcast, the former bunny revealed that the first time she appeared nude in a Playboy magazine she was not informed, nor was she paid for the published snaps.</p>
<p>Madison said Playboy at the time felt it had full ownership of any nude photos taken.</p>

<p>Late Hugh Hefner&#8217;s former girlfriend Bridget Marquardt admitted she&#8217;s &#8220;still traumatized&#8221; after recently rewatching her reality show &#8220;Girls Next Door,&#8221; and explained that it&#8217;s because of how she said she was portrayed.</p>
<p>During the former Playboy Playmate&#8217;s recent appearance on the &#8220;Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald&#8221; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OFDHcTTu30">podcast</a>, Marquadt was joined by co-star Holly Madison, of the hit show about life inside the Playboy mansion that ran from 2005 to 2010. The two former girlfriends of Hefner shared how emotional it&#8217;s been watching those old episodes again. <p>&#8220;Holly warned me that the first three episodes were really hard to watch, and when she said that I thought she just meant like kind of getting used to watching them again and once you get past like three episodes, you&#8217;re good,&#8221; Marquardt shared.</p>
<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t realize until I just watched them not last night, but the night before, and I&#8217;m still traumatized,&#8221; she added. &#8220;Like, I&#8217;m sick to my stomach, I can&#8217;t sleep, I&#8217;ve been crying.&#8221;</p>

<p>&#8220;So we are immediately, immediately in episode one, being made out to be the bitches,&#8221; she added, and Madison agreed.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think that&#8217;s messed up and borderline illegal,&#8221; Holly shared, noting she experienced problems with the show&#8217;s producer after deciding to leave the mansion.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think it was more the producer who wanted the drama and wanted us to look mean and didn&#8217;t care,&#8221; she added. &#8220;And that&#8217;s confusing, too, because we went on to feel like we had a close friendship with Kevin and now that we get older and look back and see what he did, it&#8217;s really, it&#8217;s a bad feeling.&#8221;</p>

<p>According to Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend, the founder of Playboy was a “monster” who spoke to her about getting sexual pleasure from watching snuff films and even got sexual with one of his dogs.</p>
<p>Speaking in the A&amp;E 10-part documentary “Secrets of Playboy,” Sondra Theodore, who dated Hefner from 1976-1981, said Hefner forced her to sleep with other men and women while he recorded it.</p>
<p>She said, “He was like a vampire, he was sucking the life out of me. Really, he was a monster. The things he was turned on by – nothing was enough. Nothing&#8230; He would tell the public, even good girls enjoy sex, healthy sex. And there was nothing healthy about the sex with Hefner because he took it too far.”</p>
<p>She recalled, “I walked in once and he was [makes sexual hand gesture] to our dog and I was like, what are you doing? And he said, ‘well, dogs have needs.’ And I went, stop that! Just stop that,” Theodore added, “And I never left him alone with the dog again. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I could not believe what I was seeing.”</p>
<p>“Theodore said that her breaking point was when Hefner began talking about getting sexual pleasure from watching snuff films, which are first-person videos of people committing actual homicide,” <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10515501/Hugh-Hefners-ex-girlfriend-calls-monster-latest-episode-Playboy-docuseries.html">The Daily Mail</a> reported. Theodore continued, “What kind of mind is so far gone that it takes killing somebody to get them excited for that big release? He was opening my eyes to this monster. I mean, really, he was a monster.”</p>
<p>“When we started dating in the 1970s he [Hefner] was fascinated and obsessed with Charles Manson,” Theodor said. “Couldn&#8217;t talk enough about him. How does this guy, these women who have been in jail for how many years and when they have a chance to get out they still adore him and will until the day they die. Hef liked that.”</p>
<p>Alexandra Dean, who directed the 10-part series, told <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/hugh-hefner-ex-girlfriend-sondra-theodore-secrets-of-playboy-062531259.html?guccounter=1">Yahoo Entertainment<strong> </strong></a>that of all the sources for the documentary, Theodore was the most difficult to persuade to appear. She asserted, “The thing that shocked me the most is the depth of her scarring around what happened to her with Hef&#8230;It was so profound and that is what convinced me more than anything else that this was a much darker story than I had initially started to make. Just looking at Sondra, listening to Sondra, you could hear all those traces of trauma.”</p>
<p>Calling the era of his dating Theodore the “height of his depravity,” she continued, “I think it was the height of his drug use as well. I think it unleashed things or at least it eradicated certain boundaries he might have had otherwise. The real Hef came roaring out&#8230; it&#8217;s dark.”</p>
<p>Theodore has <a href="applewebdata://185E346D-AFC6-4988-9A2F-6ABA6C089024/v">stated</a> that Hefner sent her on “countless” trips to buy cocaine, admitting, “I&#8217;ve never told anybody any of this before. I was too ashamed, for a lot of reasons, but I was a drug mule for Hef. &#8230; It was nothing to him. It was like sending me out for a quart of milk. If I got caught, my life would be over. And do you think he would have said, ‘Oh, it&#8217;s my fault?’ No, it would have been me, it would have been my problem.”</p>
<p>Former porn star Linda Lovelace claimed she was forced to perform oral sex on a German Shepherd while Hefner observed along with his friends.  Former Playboy Bunny Mother PJ Masten commented, “The guys were laughing when she got out of the limousine. She was drunk and drugged&#8230;All of a sudden out of nowhere a German Shepherd shows up. They got her so messed up they made her give the German shepherd oral sex. You want to talk about depravity? This is despicable!&#8217;”</p>
<p>Playboy issued a <a href="https://playboy.medium.com/an-open-letter-to-our-team-community-9e3f1a68b0aa">statement</a> in January prior to the airing of the documentary saying:</p>

Lizzo Says She Wants To Be In Playboy Spread, Teases Piercing On Privates

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 10-part A&amp;E network docuseries “Secrets of Playboy” just premiered Monday, but it’s already making waves in the entertainment industry. Followers were mostly aware of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s highly unconventional lifestyle and penchant for exploring the boundaries of sexual promiscuity. But the claims being made in the documentary are truly shocking.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Most fans know Hefner, who died in 2017 at the age of 91, as the man who commercialized pornographic images. He smoked pipes, wore silk pajamas, and ruled over a revolving harem of young, blonde women. The hedonistic, drug and orgy-filled parties at the Playboy mansion are the stuff of legends.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">However, the women who once participated in Hefner’s lifestyle are now claiming there were acts of depravity happening that even the most sexually progressive people would condemn. They are claiming incidents of rape and bestiality behind the mansion’s walls, Daily Mail </span><a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10400345/Hugh-Hefner-referred-Quaaludes-leg-spreaders-new-doc-reveals.html?ito=push-notification&amp;ci=CQecuZz-pB&amp;cri=LmmpoTZKgp&amp;si=33696377&amp;xi=8d9a1e8f-1bab-4085-88bd-d33eebccba53&amp;ai=10400345"><span style="font-weight: 400;">reported</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some of the strongest voices on the docuseries so far come from Hef’s former Playmate girlfriend Sondra Theodore, Director of Playmate Promotions Miki Garcia, and long-time “Bunny Mother” PJ Masten, who managed the staff at Playboy nightclubs. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Garcia described the overall atmosphere as toxic. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">She said, &#8220;It was cult-like. The women had been groomed and led to believe they were part of this family. [Hefner] really did believe he owned these women. We had Playmates that overdosed, that committed suicide.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Most documentary participants agreed that Hefner’s insatiable appetites led to desensitization, meaning he required more extreme, bizarre sexual acts to become aroused. This is what led to him watching snuff films and, allegedly, forcing others to engage in sex acts with animals or doing so himself.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Theodore claimed, “I walked in on him with my dog and I said, ‘What are you doing?’ I was shocked. He made it seem like it was just a one-time thing, and that he was just goofing off. But I never left him alone with my dog again.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At another point, the former Playmate said, “He scared me at the end&#8230;you couldn&#8217;t satisfy him. He wanted more and more and more.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She also discussed Hefner’s effect on the women who entered the mansion. “I watched girl after girl show up, fresh faced, adorable and their beauty just washed away. We were nothing to him,” Theodore said. “He was like a vampire. He sucked the life out of these girls for decades.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unfortunately, the story about Hefner and a dog isn’t the only alleged incident of animal cruelty to come out of “Secrets.” </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Daily Mail reported that one episode includes an interview with 1970s “Deep Throat” porn star Linda Lovelace, who recalls being treated like a “piece of meat” and made to perform oral sex on a German Shepherd with Hefner and his friends watching.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Since the episodes aired, the Playboy brand has been working to distance itself from its founder. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Playboy&#8217;s group leadership team released an </span><a href="https://playboy.medium.com/an-open-letter-to-our-team-community-9e3f1a68b0aa"><span style="font-weight: 400;">open letter</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> just ahead of the January 24 premiere. It said in part that they “trust and validate women and their stories” and “strongly support the individuals who have come forward to share their experiences.”  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“As a brand with sex positivity at its core, we believe safety, security and accountability are paramount, and anything less is inexcusable,” the letter said. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Today’s Playboy is not Hugh Hefner’s Playboy. Together we are building upon the aspects of our legacy that have made a positive impact, including serving as a platform for free expression and a convener of safe conversations on sex, inclusion and freedom,” the letter continued.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“We will continue to confront any parts of our legacy that do not reflect our values today, and to build upon the progress we have made as we evolve as a company so we can drive positive change for you and our communities.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The letter also mentioned that the Hefner family is no longer affiliated with the brand. </span></p>

<p>Former Democratic Rep. Katie Hill, who resigned from Congress after admitting she and her husband had formed an inappropriate relationship with a young female staffer, has announced that she is pregnant — and the father is a journalist who acted as Hill’s foremost defender.</p>
<p>Hill stated that she is 21 weeks pregnant with a child she says she conceived with her current beau, Alex Thomas, the <a href="https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiggsPF2d7zAhVPlGoFHRflCRUQFnoECAIQAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thedailybeast.com%2Fex-congresswoman-katie-hill-and-former-playboy-writer-alex-thomas-are-expecting-a-baby&amp;usg=AOvVaw1bwjYWByfKOGrNn3DyJBeh">former</a> political correspondent for Playboy magazine.</p>
<p>“Soon they’ll be a threesome,” <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/10/21/ex-rep-katie-hill-announces-she-is-more-than-5-months-pregnant/">wrote</a> Lee Brown in the New York Post.</p>
<p>Hill told Vanity Fair that she considers this child a “miracle baby,” since a battle with endometriosis has left her with only one ovary.</p>
<p>The couple’s photoshoot, <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/10/former-congresswoman-katie-hill-is-ready-for-her-next-chapter">published</a> in the magazine on Tuesday, features a <a href="https://twitter.com/KatieHill4CA/status/1450541092953223169">bikini-clad and visibly pregnant</a> Hill in the arms of a shirtless Thomas.</p>

<p>A more revealing set of photos cost the scandal-plagued California Democrat her congressional seat in 2019. The Daily Mail, a U.K.-based newspaper, published photos that showed a nude Hill, who was 32 at the time, and her then-husband, Kenneth Heslep, with a 24-year-old campaign staffer named Morgan Desjardins. Some of the photographs showed Hill brushing the staffer’s hair and smoking a bong.</p>
<p>Desjardins described the relationship as “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/katie-hill-sex-scandal-worsens-staffer-felt-abused-in-toxic-relationship-consent-questions-emerge-report-says">toxic</a>” and told Hill, “I am terrified of pushing back against you or upsetting you.” Heslep described the throuple’s relationship as “abusive.” Aside from the relationship dynamics, many said the power and age differential between Hill and Desjardins made the relationship suspect.</p>
<p>“Katie Hill’s story — our story — is also one of workplace abuse and harassment,” wrote a group of “former staff” in a <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20201007053511/https:/twitter.com/RepKatieHill/status/1313703834603024384">series of tweets</a> posted on Hill’s Twitter feed. “Katie took advantage of her subordinates. She caused immense harm to the people who worked for her, many of whom were young women just beginning their careers in politics.”</p>
<p>Hill claimed that she is the victim of an “abusive” husband who set out to ruin her life with “revenge porn.”</p>
<p>Thomas sprang to Hill’s defense, adding a political element to the controversy by alleging that Hill had been targeted by the National Republican Congressional Committee’s vast right-wing conspiracy.</p>
<p>“The NRCC was shopping around the Katie Hill images and that they got them directly from right-wing radio host Joe Messina,” Thomas asserted in a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20191030034354/https:/twitter.com/AlexThomasDC/status/1189381645671063558">since-deleted</a> tweet on October 29, 2019. But one day later, Thomas was forced to <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20191030034354/https:/twitter.com/AlexThomasDC/status/1189381645671063558">admit</a> that the NRCC “ never had their hands on the photos.” Ultimately, he ran the story in his personal newsletter rather than in Playboy.</p>
<p>At the time, Thomas did not disclose that he and Hill had already been dating for months. “The two had their first real interaction at the congressional softball game in June 2019,” Vanity Fair disclosed. The couple went public last February when they went out on a date to a <a href="https://pagesix.com/2020/02/29/ex-lawmaker-katie-hill-dating-playboy-writer-alex-thomas">Manhattan book party</a>, which was also attended by CNN’s Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy.</p>
<p>Vanity Fair’s profile, which does not mention Desjardins’ name, continues to present Hill’s side of the scandal. “Yes, Hill engaged in an inappropriate, arguably exploitative, relationship with a campaign staffer. But she was also a victim,” the magazine claims.</p>
<p>Hill sued the Daily Mail, RedState.com Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar, and nationally syndicated radio host Joseph Messina for publishing nude photos without her consent, something that normally violates California state law. But in June, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Yolanda Orozco <a href="https://reason.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/HillvHeslep.pdf">ruled</a> that the photos had inherent news value and that Hill violated a <em>different </em>state law preventing people from filing lawsuits in order to stifle free speech. Judge Orozco ordered Hill to pay a total of $220,000 in attorneys’ fees to the conservative news outlets. Hill tells Vanity Fair that she “felt like there was a fundamental injustice here that happened and could only happen to a woman.”</p>
<p>Hill responded by attacking the journalistic integrity of her opponents, saying in April that she could not believe that a court declared that “a partisan blog is a news outlet.” Her attorney, Carrie Goldberg, snipes this week that Hill’s nude photos “were published by the mainstream media—if we want to call the <em>Daily Mail</em> that.” And Thomas grouses about the decision, saying, “You grow up thinking the good guys win … it’s just like, that’s not how the world works.”</p>
<p>Vanity Fair describes Hill as “deflated,” noting that “Hill—broke and without a steady paycheck—is considering bankruptcy.” Hill says she plans to tend to her political action committee, Her Time, and Vanity Fair reports that she is “working behind the scenes to shepherd legislation that would make the sharing of nonconsensual pornography a federal crime.”</p>
<p>“That’s what’s going to get me through the next year,” Hill says. “Then I guess by November, next year, after the midterms, I can kind of take stock again” about whether she wants to run for her old congressional seat, which is now held by Republican Mike Garcia.</p>
<p>Despite credible claims of sexual harassment, the legacy media have kept Hill visible and gently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/3-democrats-the-media-are-thirsty-to-have-back-in-politics">prodded her to run for office</a> again. After pressing Hill numerous times about her political plans, CNN’s Brianna Keilar said in June, “We will keep asking.” Two months later, MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-msnbc-asks-congresswoman-accused-of-sexual-harassment-how-to-solve-cuomos-sexual-harassment">asked</a> Hill to comment on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-fall-of-andrew-cuomo-how-an-empire-built-on-fear-came-crashing-down">Governor Andrew Cuomo</a>’s resignation would “move us forward” toward realizing the goals of the #MeToo movement. Neither asked Hill about her own purportedly abusive behavior.</p>
<p>Vanity Fair did not ask about the propriety of Thomas staging a public defense of Hill without acknowledging their romantic relationship.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s baffling that someone who has sex with the subject of his glowing puff piece articles making now-retracted accusations against our organization is a credentialed member of the press,&#8221; a spokesman for the NRCC <a href="https://freebeacon.com/media/journalist-who-defended-katie-hill-failed-to-disclose-he-dated-her/">told</a> the Washington Free Beacon shortly after Hill <a href="https://www.thecut.com/2020/03/katie-hill-scandal-aftermath.html">confirmed</a> that she and Thomas began dating mid-2019. &#8220;This is a sad day for proponents of journalistic ethics along with those who read <em>Playboy</em> for the articles.&#8221;</p>
