People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sent a letter to the White House suggesting that First Lady Melania Trump wear a redesigned potato sack — and have children roll potatoes instead of eggs — at the 2026 White House Easter Egg Roll.
Touting the success of &#8220;The Haute Potato Collection&#8221; at New York City&#8217;s Fashion Week — a collection based on the iconic potato sack dress worn by actress Marilyn Monroe in 1951 — PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk promised the first lady a reimagined — and far more glamorous — potato sack creation for the White House&#8217;s Easter festivities.
&#8220;We would be delighted to present you with a unique dress created from vintage Idaho potato sacks—like those recently featured during New York Fashion Week (inspired by the potato sack dress famously worn by Marilyn Monroe) if you’ll redesign the White House Easter Egg Roll to become the White House Easter Potato Roll, a fabulously modern move,&#8221; Newkirk wrote.
She went on to note that Trump had the opportunity to influence the way people looked at Easter eggs going forward — and could open the door for more families viewing potatoes as a reasonable alternative.
&#8220;As first lady, you have tremendous influence to elevate and reimagine outdated customs such as this and to add a patriotic angle that has been lacking,&#8221; Newkirk continued, arguing that potatoes could be dyed and decorated in the same way that eggs have been — and that they lend themselves to additional activities — &#8220;like sack races and &#8216;hot potato&#8217; games.&#8221;
&#8220;Swapping out eggs for potatoes would feel not only patriotic and familiar but also delightfully new, offering children the same hands-on fun while reflecting the core Christian value of kindness to all creation in the time of Easter renewal and joy,&#8221; she added.
The annual Easter Egg Roll typically uses approximately 30,000 hard-boiled eggs, most of which are small to medium in size and not usually packaged for retail. They are donated for the event by the American Egg Board.

Former Beatles band member Paul McCartney is teaming up with the animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in an effort to stop a national coffee chain from charging customers more for plant-based milk.
The recording artist wrote an <a href="https://www.peta.org/media/news-releases/for-peets-sake-sir-paul-to-peets-drop-non-dairy-milk-upcharge-please/">open letter</a> to Eric Lauterbach, president and CEO of Peet’s Coffee, asking that the company remove an 80 cent surcharge for non-dairy milk.
“It recently came to my attention that Peet’s has an extra charge for plant-based milks as opposed to cow’s milk. I must say this surprised me as I understand that your company is committed to reducing methane emissions and water waste, yet cow’s milk significantly contributes to them,” McCartney wrote, per the San Francisco Chronicle. “I would like to politely request that you consider dropping the upcharge on plant milks, just as Starbucks and Dunkin’ have recently done.”
The coffee chain is headquartered in Emeryville, California, a Bay Area city between Oakland and Berkeley, where PETA is organizing a demonstration later this month. 
“Peet’s punitive price hike on vegan milks leaves a bad taste in the mouth of anyone who cares about animals or the environment,” PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said in a statement. “PETA is calling on the public to join the push for Peet’s to brew up compassion and stop charging extra for kind and climate-friendly choices.”
McCartney is a well-known environmental activist with a penchant for left-wing causes. According to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/official.peta/posts/paul-and-linda-mccartney-decided-to-go-veg-in-1975-as-they-watched-lambs-playing/1010634767389492/">PETA</a>, Paul and his late wife, Linda McCartney, went vegetarian in 1975 after watching lambs play outside their window while they were eating lamb chops. 
In the past, the singer has said, “It’s actually a huge fallacy,” that the best protein sources are meat. “You can get your protein from a million other non-animal places, and it’s much better for you,” McCartney said during an <a href="https://www.peta.org/features/paul-mccartney-interview/">interview</a> with PETA.

The leftist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/animals">animal</a> rights organization <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/peta">PETA</a> has suggested for Groundhog Day this year, the nation should ditch Punxsutawney Phil and rely on a vegan “weather reveal cake” to predict the weather instead.
The organization, which stands for &#8220;People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,”  said it <a href="https://www.peta.org/media/news-releases/life-for-punxsutawney-phil-is-no-piece-of-cake-peta-offers-weather-reveal-dessert-to-replace-exploited-groundhog/#:~:text=Punxsutawney%2C%20Pa.&amp;text=PETA%20will%20deliver%20a%20delicious,outfit%20kudos%20from%20wildlife%20fans.">sent</a> a letter to Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s President Tom Dunkel and made him the “irresistible offer” of delivering what would resemble a gender reveal cake if his group was willing to “let Punxsutawney Phil and his family retire to a reputable sanctuary.”
“In a fun play on viral gender reveal videos, PETA’s tasty treat would be cut to expose one of two colors: blue, signifying six more weeks of winter, or pink, indicating an early spring,” the statement said. 
The letter to Dunkel used numerous baking puns, saying the vegan cake &#8220;would allow you to still make tourism dough while showing Phil a slice of decency.&#8221;
“You batter believe that for Phil, Groundhog Day is no piece of cake,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk wrote. “Groundhogs are shy prey animals who, when allowed, actively avoid humans. Yet, year after year, Phil is transported to Gobler’s Knob, whisked on stage, and subjected to a noisy announcer, screaming crowds, and flashing lights against all his natural instincts.”
She continued, “If approached in his natural habitat, he would run away in fear, not volunteer to live year-round in captivity, unable to do anything that’s natural and important to him like hibernate or burrow—just to be a town’s once-a-year fake meteorologist.&#8221;
This isn’t the first time PETA tried to stop the Groundhog Day tradition by pitching an alternative. In 2024, it suggested flipping a giant coin rather than seeing if Phil saw his shadow. Two years earlier, the group had suggested using an animatronic replica of the groundhog. 
The tradition of using a groundhog to predict whether the nation would experience an early spring or have six more weeks of winter <a href="https://www.weather.gov/phi/GroundHogHistory">originated</a> with German settlers who brought the tradition of Candlemas to America in the 1700s. 
Punxsutawney Phil is the official weather-predicting groundhog who emerges each year on February 2 to make his prediction in Punxsutawney, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/pennsylvania">Pennsylvania,</a> to around 20,000 fans who gather for the occasion.

Peanut the Squirrel was more than just a social media sensation. He was also the namesake of an animal rescue run by the New York couple that adopted him.
Last year, Mark and Daniele Longo <a href="https://www.pnutsfreedomfarm.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opened</a> P’Nuts Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary, “a haven where neglected and homeless animals receive a second chance at life” named after their pet squirrel, who they rescued seven years ago. The sanctuary, which they say has helped 350 animals, was made possible in a large part by donations gathered through Peanut’s viral social media accounts.
Now that Peanut has been euthanized by New York State, Mark Longo worries the sanctuary may be in trouble.
“We’ve relied heavily on PNUT and his internet family to gather donations to help more animals,” Longo <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBwhVpdymnG/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=2d974739-6fb5-45c5-b805-ffd3a6adc4ce" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote on Instagram</a>. “I don’t even know how [we] will continue to fundraise for this nonprofit.”
Longo says he is uncertain why the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) chose to seize and euthanize Peanut after seven years, during which time there had been no complaints about Peanut. But according to Center For Consumer Freedom Managing Director Will Coggin, the DEC’s actions are inline with the misguided approach of the animal welfare movement.
“The death of Peanut appears to track with a broader trend in the animal rights movement of killing animals,” Coggin told The Daily Wire. “Sadly, many of these people have a ‘better dead than fed’ mentality.”
Coggin pointed to one “shocking” case of Maya the Chihuahua, who PETA employees allegedly took from a Virginia family’s front porch and euthanized.
Maya’s owner, Wilbur Cerate, <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20141116095105/http://wavy.com/2014/11/12/man-claims-peta-stole-killed-family-pet/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told WAVY</a> at the time that security footage from his home shows two women exiting a PETA van that pulls up to his property, putting Maya in the van, and driving away. Cerate told WAVY that the women returned three days later with “a fruit basket and terrible news — Maya had been euthanized.”

Accomack County Sheriff Todd Godwin charged the workers with larceny, but the local commonwealth’s attorney dropped the charge.
According to Coggin, Peanut and Maya are just two of many animals who have suffered such fates.
“PETA euthanized 79% of the dogs and cats it took in last year at its ‘shelter,’ which state inspectors likened to a ‘euthanasia clinic,’” Coggin said.
Though PETA has national recognition, Center For Consumer Freedom data suggests that it’s smaller animal rescues like P’Nuts Freedom Farm that do the majority of actual rescuing.
The group <a href="https://consumerfreedom.com/2023/04/petas-25-year-anniversary-of-killing-pets/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that PETA only adopted 58 animals in 2022, a 2.1% adoption rate. The nearby Norfolk Animal Care &amp; Adoption Center, it said, took in 4,337 animals that year, and had a euthanasia rate of just 10%.

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a press release, &#8220;Children learn through play, and teaching them to have respect and compassion for all living, feeling beings can help create a more just and merciful world.&#8221;

“SNL” actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/pete-davidson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pete Davidson</a> shared some harsh words with an executive from the animal rights organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/peta" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PETA</a>) after being scolded for purchasing a new <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dogs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dog</a> from a pet store rather than adopting one.
The 29-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/comedian" target="_blank" rel="noopener">comedian</a> left an explicit voicemail on Monday for Daphna Nachminovitch, the senior vice president of PETA&#8217;s Cruelty Investigations Department, after she released a statement about Davidson shopping for a dog.
&#8220;Thank you so much for making comments publicly that I didn&#8217;t adopt a dog,&#8221; Davidson said in the recording, per a report from <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/pete-davidson-lashes-peta-amid-puppy-purchase-backlash-f-you" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a>. &#8220;I just want to let you know I&#8217;m severely allergic to dogs, so I have to get a specific breed. I&#8217;m only not allergic to Cavapoos, and those type of dogs.” 
&#8220;And my mom&#8217;s f***ing dog, who&#8217;s two years old, died a week prior, and we&#8217;re all so sad,” the actor continued. “So I had to get a specific dog. So why don&#8217;t you do your research before f***ing create[ing] news story for people because you&#8217;re a boring, tired c***. F*** you. And suck my d***.&#8221;
The Cavapoo is a mixed breed that combines the Cavalier King Charles spaniel and poodle. It’s known for being “hypoallergenic” and is supposedly non-irritating for dog owners with allergies.
Davidson’s friend had previously posted on social media that the actor’s dog, Henry, had died just ahead of the “Bupkis” premiere day on May 4. Davidson and his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, were later photographed shopping for a new dog at the Citipups pet store in New York City.
This led to PETA releasing a statement: &#8220;It’s tragic that Pete didn’t seek out a borough-born mutt from a city animal shelter, because a scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match. Since shelters in New York and across the country are overflowing with homeless animals, PETA urges Pete to show some big heart energy by adopting, not shopping, in the future.&#8221; 
Davidson replied via his own statement to <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/06/06/pete-davidson-leaves-peta-unhinged-voice-mail-new-dog-backlash/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ,</a> saying that he initially sought to &#8220;adopt a specific hypoallergenic dog&#8221; and that he was told &#8220;it wasn&#8217;t an option, and if it was, it was rare.&#8221;
The “SNL” alum also said he was sorry for his harshly worded voicemail but explained how he spoke out of grief. 
&#8220;I haven&#8217;t seen my mom and sister cry like that in over 20 years. I was trying to cheer up my family. I was already upset that the store had filmed me without my permission or acknowledgment. Then this organization (PETA) made a public example of us, making our grieving situation worse. I am upset. It was a poor choice of words. I shouldn&#8217;t have said what I said, but I am not sorry for standing up for myself and my family.&#8221;

PETA responded, insisting that Davidson could have found the breed he wanted at a shelter and shouldn&#8217;t have visited a pet store.
&#8220;Our hearts go out to Pete and the rest of the Davidson family for the loss of their beloved dog, but there’s no excuse for promoting the puppy mill industry by buying a dog from a pet store when millions of wonderful dogs await loving homes in animal shelters. Anyone set on finding a dog of a specific breed can go to shelters, where an estimated 25% of dogs are ‘purebreds,’ check with adoption groups, or search Petfinder online,&#8221; PETA wrote.
&#8220;Citipups, the store where Pete purchased his dog, has come under fire for allegedly selling sick puppies who have died prematurely. We know Pete cares about animals and was trying to do a nice thing for his family, but he has millions of impressionable fans and his choices matter—so the next time he’s ready to welcome an animal into the family, we hope he makes the compassionate choice to adopt, not buy.&#8221;

PETA U.S. Senior Vice President Lisa Lange expressed her outrage over the use of live dolphins to promote the movie. 
“James Cameron waited 13 years for the development of the right technology to bring the underwater world of Pandora to life,” she <a href="https://plantbasednews.org/news/celebrities/james-cameron-vegan-attends-dolphin-promote-avatar-2/">told</a> Plant Based News. “So why on Earth didn&#8217;t he pause for just five minutes to consider whether he should have allowed himself to be seen as endorsing the cruelty of marine parks?”
&#8220;Confining far-ranging dolphins to concrete tanks and using them as surfboards – riding on their faces in circus-style shows – is something the villains of &#8216;Avatar&#8217; would do,” she continued. “PETA urges him to reject such animal misery outright and encourages everyone to shun these cruel parks.”
Lange also <a href="https://au.news.yahoo.com/avatar-2-premiere-sparks-outrage-cruel-dolphin-stunt-slammed-way-of-water-james-cameron-japan-the-cove-003810174.html">told</a> Yahoo News Australia that she originally believed the dolphins were animatronics or some kind of “movie magic,” but then discovered they were real animals.
“To see James Cameron, Sigourney Weaver, and Sam Worthington sitting there applauding was shocking,” Lange told the publication. “The trainers were treating those dolphins like circus clowns. They were riding on the noses of the dolphins, I mean, that’s as bad as it gets.”
She wasn&#8217;t the only one furious at Cameron.
“Captive dolphins are confined to a tiny, barren, artificial environment 200 thousand times smaller than their natural habitat. They endure severe suffering and distress and live much shorter lives on average than their wild counterparts,” World Animal Protection group director Cameron Harsh <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/12/15/james-cameron-slammed-for-cruel-dolphin-stunt-at-avatar-2-premiere/">said</a> in a statement, calling Cameron’s decision “confoundingly out of step” with his reputation.
Many fans and activists went so far as to call for boycotts of the new “Avatar” movie. They were especially incensed because Cameron is a vegan and animal rights advocate himself.

Confidential&#8221; actor superglued himself to a New York City Starbucks counter on Tuesday morning, claiming that it was discriminatory and bad for the environment for the company to charge extra for plant-based milk options.
&#8220;Save the planet, save the cows. Stop the vegan upcharge now!&#8221; Cromwell and others chanted after the actor spoke about the fact that Starbucks was charging extra for plant-based milks.
Cromwell argued that the surcharge was discriminatory because lactose intolerance is more prevalent in minority communities than it is among white Americans. He also argued that for people who chose vegan options because they believed the dairy industry was cruel to animals, Starbucks was effectively charging people more for making moral choices.

The organization later bragged in a follow-up tweet, &#8220;James Cromwell single-handedly SHUT DOWN a #NYC @Starbucks during rush hour. Watch him confront shoppers and face down the police.&#8221;
Cromwell remained glued to the counter for around 30 minutes.

Oscar nominee James Cromwell superglued himself to a New York City Starbucks counter in protest of the fact that the company charges extra to use plant-based milk in drinks.
In a protest that was live-streamed to Facebook by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/peta-furious-bidens-didnt-adopt-new-dog-when-they-got-rid-of-biter-major/">PETA</a>) activists, the &#8220;L.A. Confidential&#8221; actor superglued himself to the counter before delivering a statement about the company&#8217;s surcharge for vegan milk options and its impact on both the environment and on communities of color.

Cromwell, who can be seen wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the words &#8220;free the animals,&#8221; <a href="https://www.abc27.com/news/entertainment/oscar-nominated-actor-james-cromwell-glues-himself-to-starbucks-counter-video-shows/?utm_campaign=socialflow&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=t.co">argued</a> that vegan milk options were better for the environment. He also claimed that charging more for them was discriminatory — particularly because minorities suffer from lactose intolerance at a higher rate than white Americans do — but also because he felt that those who chose vegan options as a matter of conscience were being penalized for making a moral choice.
&#8220;When will you stop raking in huge profits while customers, animals and the environment suffer?&#8221; Cromwell asked, arguing that in order to provide the dairy products used at Starbucks, animals were subjected to &#8220;violence.&#8221; &#8220;When will you stop penalizing people for their ethnicities, their morals?
The protest concluded with a chant: &#8220;Save the planet, save the cows. Stop the vegan upcharge now!&#8221;
Cromwell and one other PETA activist — who had also glued himself to the counter — unattached themselves without incident about 30 minutes later. The report did not indicate whether any charges were filed, although a similar protest at the company&#8217;s Seattle headquarters had led to the arrest of two protesters.
Legendary musician Paul McCartney has <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2022/04/paul-mccartney-letter-starbucks-stop-charging-plant-based-milk-peta">also called on Starbucks</a> to end the surcharge for plant-based milks, although he opted to write a letter rather than glue himself to a cafe counter.
&#8220;It recently came to my attention that Starbucks in the USA has an extra charge for plant-based milks as opposed to cow’s milk,&#8221; McCartney wrote earlier this year. &#8220;I must say this surprised me as I understand that in other countries like U.K. and India, there is the same charge for both types of milk and I would like to politely request that you consider this policy also in Starbucks USA. My friends at PETA are campaigning for this to happen … I sincerely hope that for the future of the planet and animal welfare you are able to implement this policy.&#8221;

PETA is at it again.
The publicity-seeking People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is taking aim at popular clothing stores likes Urban Outfitters that use leather and fur by opening a fake store, <a href="https://www.urbanoutraged.com/">Urban Outraged</a>, that features items crafted from “human parts.”
The phony shop features a number of clothing items “made of the finest leather — that on second look, reveal human faces on the jackets, human teeth on the shoes, and human blood oozing from the bags,” according to a press release.
That shoe with the human teeth is called &#8220;The Meg Boot.&#8221;
&#8220;Our signature Meg Boot is our most popular style, but make no mistake: Each boot features its own special touches, depending on which part of Meg was used. She was aging beautifully, so a majority of the work was already done for us, but we still managed to get in some extra tanning. With every kick and scream came lots of pounding with hammers to ensure that the leather stays soft and pliable. We managed to clean off most of the blood, but the occasional drop can be expected as a result of the handmade process,&#8221; the website says.
Then there are &#8220;The Dan Pants.&#8221;

The fake store is an attempt to personify the animals that are used to make leather and fur clothing items.
&#8220;Why aren’t you horrified by what’s already in your closet?&#8221; says another section of the website. &#8220;If you own animal-derived materials like wool, leather, alpaca, cashmere, mohair, down, or silk, you’ve bought into barbaric industries involving violent practices that would be considered cruel and unusual were they performed on humans.&#8221;
“A cow’s skin belongs to her, and she feels fear and pain in a slaughterhouse every bit as much as you or I would,” PETA’s executive vice president, Tracy Reiman, <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/11/29/peta-launches-gruesome-online-shop-with-human-leathers/">told</a> the New York Post.

As the World Series gets underway this week, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) on Thursday called on Major League Baseball (MLB) to retire the term “bullpen” and start using a more “animal-friendly” term.
In a pun-ridden statement, PETA &#8220;pitched” the idea to MLB.
“As the World Series turns into a pitching duel, PETA is pitching a proposal to the baseball world,” PETA <a href="https://www.peta.org/media/news-releases/petas-call-to-the-bullpen-rename-outdated-term-arm-barn/?v2=1">said</a>. “Strike out the word ‘bullpen,’ which references the holding area where terrified bulls are kept before slaughter, in favor of a more modern, animal-friendly term.”
“PETA’s suggestion? The arm barn!” the group said.

The animal rights group argued that the baseball “bullpen,” where pitchers warm up before pitching during a game, references the area at rodeos where bulls are held before they are slaughtered.
PETA said that “in rodeos, gentle bulls are tormented into kicking and bucking by being electro-shocked or prodded—all are typically held in a ‘bullpen’ while they await their cruel fate.”

“Words matter, and baseball ‘bullpens’ devalue talented players and mock the misery of sensitive animals,” said PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA encourages Major League Baseball coaches, announcers, players, and fans to changeup their language and embrace the ‘arm barn’ instead.”
The group&#8217;s statement comes after the first two games of the World Series this week, with game three scheduled for Friday. The Atlanta Braves are playing the Houston Astros, both teams weathering their own separate controversies. Each team has won a game so far.
Braves fans still use their signature tomahawk chop gesture, “The Chop,” to cheer on their team, which some have <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/28/us/atlanta-braves-tomahawk-chop/index.html">criticized</a> as &#8220;racist&#8221; toward Native Americans.
Before game one of the World Series, which began in Houston on the Astros&#8217; turf, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred defended &#8220;The Chop&#8221; as well as the Braves&#8217; name.
“The Braves have done a phenomenal job with the Native American community,” Manfred said. “The Native American community in that region is wholly supportive of the Braves program, including ‘The Chop.’ For me, that’s kind of the end of the story. In that market, we’re taking into account the Native American community.”
“We try to stay apolitical,” Manfred said. “And like to keep the focus on the field, on the game.”
Meanwhile, the Astros are still tainted by their cheating scandal from 2017 and 2018 that left a lingering bad taste in the mouths of baseball fans, and they have been <a href="https://www.distractify.com/p/houston-astros-cheating-2021">accused</a> of cheating again in 2021.
In yet another political ripple to this year&#8217;s World Series, games three through five will be held at the Braves&#8217; stadium in Atlanta after MLB pulled the scheduled July 13 All-Star Game from the city over criticism of Georgia&#8217;s election law, which progressives claimed would disenfranchise minorities.

This week, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) issued a tweet calling for all human beings to refrain from using the names of animals as euphemisms for insults directed at other human beings.
“Calling someone an animal as an insult reinforces the myth that humans are superior to other animals &amp; justified in violating them,” the animal rights group said. Using animals as euphemisms can &#8220;perpetuate oppression&#8221; and such words are “supremacist language.”
PETA lectured that instead of “chicken” say “coward.” Instead of “rat” say “snitch.” Instead of “snake” say “jerk.” Instead of “pig” say “repulsive.” Instead of “sloth” say “lazy.”

In November 2016, PETA trivialized rape, running an ad “equating innocent women and girls being raped and impregnated to inseminated farm animals,” as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/peta-trivializes-rape-appalling-new-ad-amanda-prestigiacomo/">The Daily Wire</a> reported. The ad commenced with five different female activists alternating lines, seemingly recounting brutal, painful acts of rape against women and girls:

“Every year, billions of animals are born into the meat egg and dairy industries,” read a statement flashed across the screen. &#8220;Almost all of them are a result of forcible insemination. Almost all of them are a result of rape. Don’t participate, go vegan.&#8221;

In July 2018, PETA <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/natalie-portman-compares-eating-meat-holocaust-kassy-dillon/">released a video</a> in which actress Natalie Portman compared the killing of animals for meat consumption to the Holocaust. Portman referenced Nobel Prize in Literature recipient Isaac Bashevis Singer as she stated, &#8220;Isaac Singer grew up in the same part of Poland as my family. And like them, he fled the horrors of the Holocaust.&#8221;
Portman quoted Singer from one of his novels, stating, &#8220;We do to God’s creatures what the Nazis did to us.&#8221;
&#8220;As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony,&#8221; the video states. &#8220;Slaughter and justice cannot dwell together.&#8221;
