A Palestinian prisoner serving a life sentence for his role in the 2001 assassination of an Israeli cabinet minister has reportedly fathered twins after his sperm was allegedly smuggled out of an Israeli prison.
Basel al-Asmar’s wife, Sanabel Al-Ra’i, announced the birth of a boy and a girl at a hospital in Qalqilya, according to Palestinian media reports cited by <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-906420">The Jerusalem Post</a>. The reported birth has also been celebrated by Hamas-affiliated media.
<a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcSY2b7zsOh/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=AB-r19VClz7ROz6zo8qfjKD">A video</a> shared on Instagram by a Palestinian influencer appears to show Al-Ra’i in a hospital bed with the two newborns. The footage has circulated alongside reports about the alleged sperm-smuggling operation.
Al-Asmar is imprisoned at Nafha Prison in Israel’s Negev region. He is serving a life sentence for his role in the murder of former Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze’evi, who was assassinated at the Hyatt Hotel in Jerusalem on October 17, 2001. Al-Asmar was also convicted of membership in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Palestinian terrorist organization.
The reported conception was apparently not immediate. According to Al-Asmar’s nephew, who spoke to Palestinian media, attempts to conceive using the allegedly smuggled sperm took place over roughly two years before the pregnancy was successful. 
The couple reportedly met while Al-Ra’i was visiting her brother, Shaher Al-Ra’i, in prison. Her brother was a PFLP member who was suspected of involvement in the killing of two Israeli hikers but was never convicted of those killings, according to the Post. Basel Al-Asmar and Sanabel Al-Ra’i subsequently married by proxy.
The Israel Prison Service has not confirmed that the twins were fathered by Al-Asmar.
In a statement to The Jerusalem Post, the Israel Prison Service said there was no scientific evidence confirming Al-Asmar’s paternity. The service added that such operations are not possible because prisoners have had no contact with the outside world since October 7, 2023.
The prison service specifically linked the timing to the tenure of Commissioner Kobi Yaakobi, saying that prison policy changed after his appointment and that, since October 7, 2023, there has been no contact between prisoners and the outside world that would allow such operations.
According to Indira IVF, sperm can survive for up to an hour in a warm, moist environment when kept in a sterile container. However, the clinic says sperm viability drops quickly when semen is exposed to water or surfaces.
Reports of Palestinian prisoners fathering children through allegedly smuggled sperm date back more than a decade. Over 100 children have been fathered by Palestinian prisoners through sperm smuggling since 2012, according to Palestinian media reports cited by the Jerusalem Post. This includes prisoner Ahmad Shamali, a Palestinian prisoner, claiming he fathered quadruplets in 2023.

A recently published <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/israel-vindicated-gaza-nutrition-data-after-blood-libel-starvation-claims-un-envoy-says">survey</a> backed by the United Nations shows acute malnutrition among young children in Gaza at or below prewar levels, undermining claims that Israel deliberately starved the population during the war.
“During the war in Gaza, Israel was accused by many countries and by many U.N. <a href="https://www.un.org/unispal/document/ohchr-statement-22aug25/">officials</a> that we deliberately <a href="https://press.un.org/en/2025/sgsm22772.doc.htm">starved</a> the population in Gaza. That was a blood libel,” Israeli Ambassador Danon <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/israel-vindicated-gaza-nutrition-data-after-blood-libel-starvation-claims-un-envoy-says">told</a> Fox News on Tuesday. “When we actually answered those claims and asked our colleagues where they got the data, the answer was that they relied on Hamas reports.”
The Gaza SMART nutrition survey, coordinated by the UNICEF-led Nutrition Cluster and presented by the State of Palestine Nutrition Cluster on July 22, 2026, examined 1,335 children under age 5. The assessment covered regions home to about 83% of Gaza’s population. Roughly 17% of the population could not be surveyed because of security and operational constraints.
The survey recorded acute malnutrition rates between 0.2%-0.8% using weight-for-height measurements, with a global estimate around 0.5%. Using mid-upper arm circumference, the rate stood at 1.3%. Evaluators concluded there was “no widespread acute malnutrition at population level.” The rates were significantly lower than those in neighboring countries.
Danon argued that the latest figures debunked earlier starvation claims and said previous numbers drawn from Hamas sources were fabricated. “For the future, we shouldn’t count on a terrorist organization. We are a reliable country, we share data, we share concerns regarding humanitarian issues, and we should not collaborate with terrorists,” he said.
He pointed to specific past statements by senior international officials. U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher, in a 2025 BBC interview about border access, <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0k3d1y10pzo">said</a> 14,000 babies were at risk of dying within 48 hours without immediate nutritional aid. That figure was later clarified as an 11-month projection involving children at risk of severe malnutrition.
“That was false and did not happen. Using starvation and babies to spread blood libels against Israel is outrageous,” Danon said. “We care about babies in Gaza more than those making these allegations against us.”
Danon mentioned that Israel maintained records of food supplies entering the territory throughout the conflict. “In terms of the food coming into Gaza, that was very easy for us to prove because we control the checkpoints and count the number of trucks coming in,” he explained.
The survey results arrive as prominent Left-wing and anti-Israel politicians have continued to push the claim that Israel has been starving people in Gaza.
Last year, then-New York Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani <a href="https://x.com/ZohranKMamdani/status/1925239850929688735">posted</a>, “Netanyahu said he’d allow aid into Gaza. He lied. For nearly 80 days, nothing has reached Gaza’s soup kitchens, bakeries, or hospitals. Thousands of babies — and countless adults — are being starved by the Israeli government. This is a heinous war crime, one that should shock and anger every single one of us.”
In a July 25, 2025, statement, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said, “After many months of Israel blocking humanitarian aid, children and other vulnerable people are starving to death in increasing numbers. The World Food Programme says that the food crisis has reached ‘new and astonishing levels of desperation, with a third of the population not eating for multiple days in a row.’ Children’s bodies are eating themselves from within, their organs are shutting down. 
“Doctors themselves are fainting from hunger,” Sanders added.

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that negotiators have his reached what he described as a &#8220;historic agreement&#8221; aimed at ending Hamas&#8217; control of Gaza, though the deal still awaits final approval from the terrorist group.
&#8220;Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza,&#8221; Trump wrote on Truth Social. &#8220;This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.axios.com/2026/07/30/hamas-weapons-gaza-deal-israel-board-peace">Axios</a> reported Thursday that U.S. officials and the Board of Peace believe Hamas could formally sign the agreement within days after agreeing to its terms during negotiations mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. However, the outlet noted that Israeli officials and Western diplomats remain skeptical that Hamas will ultimately follow through with its commitments.
According to Trump, the deal would pave the way for Gaza to be governed by a new Palestinian government working alongside the Board of Peace while ensuring Israel &#8220;will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks.&#8221;
The president said the agreement would be implemented in phases as Hamas and other armed groups surrender their weapons, after which Israeli forces would withdraw and an international stabilization force would help a new Palestinian police force maintain security.
Under the reported framework, Hamas would surrender both heavy and light weapons over six to eight months, disclose the locations of tunnels and weapons depots, and allow a new Palestinian government to gradually assume control of Gaza. Israeli withdrawals would occur only after areas are independently verified as demilitarized, per the <a href="https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-904113">Jerusalem Post</a>.
Trump thanked Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey for their mediation efforts and praised his negotiating team, declaring that &#8220;the threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will NOT be allowed to rebuild.&#8221;
The negotiations remain ongoing, and officials caution that talks could still collapse before a final agreement is signed.

Former Rep. Cori Bush is attempting a political comeback in the 2026 midterms, hoping to reclaim Missouri&#8217;s deep-blue 1st Congressional District from the Democrat who unseated her two years ago.
Bush, a former member of the far-left Squad, is challenging Rep. Wesley Bell (D-MO) in a rematch of the expensive 2024 Democratic primary. Because the St. Louis-area district is overwhelmingly Democratic, the winner of Tuesday&#8217;s primary is heavily favored to return to Washington in January.
The race has become yet another test of whether the Democratic Party&#8217;s recent leftward shift — fueled by victories from left-wing and Democratic-Socialist candidates in cities like New York, Philadelphia, and Denver — extends towards one of the movement&#8217;s most recognizable national figures.
Bush&#8217;s campaign also revives one of the Democratic Party&#8217;s most contentious internal divides: support for Israel.
When <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/wesley-bell-backed-by-aipac-defeats-squad-member-cori-bush-in-st-louis-distrct-primary">Bell defeated Bush in 2024</a>, the race became one of the most expensive House primaries in American history after pro-Israel groups, led by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee&#8217;s United Democracy Project, poured $9.3 million into the contest. Bush had become one of Congress&#8217; most outspoken critics of Israel after introducing one of the first congressional resolutions calling for a ceasefire following Hamas&#8217; October 7, 2023 terrorist attack.
Bell has continued backing military assistance for Israel while arguing the United States must support allies confronting hostile regimes. &#8220;I think we have to support our allies not only in Israel, but in Taiwan and in Ukraine,&#8221; Bell said during a recent <a href="https://www.stlpr.org/government-politics-issues/2026-07-29/missouri-primary-bush-bell-democrat-litmus">joint appearance</a> with Bush. &#8220;They are on the front lines of our sworn enemies.&#8221;
Over the past year, several insurgent Democratic candidates who criticized party leadership and took hard-line positions against U.S. support for Israel have won competitive primaries, leading progressives to argue that voters are increasingly rewarding candidates willing to challenge the Democratic establishment.
For their part, establishment Democrats, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) have endorsed Bell&#8217;s reelection. Bell has argued that his first term demonstrates he can effectively work within Congress while delivering results for the district, particularly following the devastating tornado that struck St. Louis in 2025.
Bush has countered that Bell has failed to provide the aggressive leadership voters expected, criticizing what she characterizes as an inadequate response to the tornado recovery effort and arguing the district needs a more confrontational representative willing to challenge both Republicans and Democratic leadership.
&#8220;The fight does not end because I got my feelings hurt,&#8221; Bush <a href="https://19thnews.org/2026/07/cori-bush-missouri-primaries/">told supporters</a>. &#8220;If you&#8217;re a true fighter, you get knocked down, and I got back up.&#8221;
Bush first rose to national prominence as an activist during the 2014 Ferguson protests following the police shooting of Michael Brown before defeating longtime Democratic Rep. William Lacy Clay in 2020. During her two terms in Congress, she became one of the most recognizable members of the Squad alongside Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).
Her tenure frequently put her at odds with Democratic leadership. Bush opposed former President Joe Biden&#8217;s bipartisan infrastructure package, advocated defunding police departments, slept on the Capitol steps to protest the expiration of the federal eviction moratorium, and became one of Congress&#8217; earliest and loudest critics of Israel.
Bell continues to support military assistance for Israel while Bush remains committed to cutting it off, making the issue one of the few major policy differences separating the candidates, who agree on many domestic issues.
For the left, a Bush victory would mark the return of one of the movement&#8217;s original national standard-bearers and suggest the Democratic Party&#8217;s activist base continues moving leftward after several high-profile primary victories around the country.
For Democratic leadership, another Bell victory would reinforce the coalition that removed Bush from office in 2024 and demonstrate that establishment-backed incumbents can still withstand challenges from the party&#8217;s activist wing.
The Missouri primaries are scheduled for Tuesday, August 4.

The United Nations has accused the Jewish state of deliberately hunting Palestinian children, and after 94 pages of this “U.N. report,” it cannot prove a single case.
Technically, the <a href="https://www.ohchr.org/sites/default/files/documents/hrbodies/hrcouncil/sessions-regular/session62/a-hrc-62-crp-2.pdf">accusation</a> comes not from the United Nations as a whole but from the U.N. Human Rights Council’s Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, a body created by the Council rather than by the Security Council or General Assembly. In practice, however, the distinction disappears. The report is published on U.N. websites under the U.N. emblem, promoted through official U.N. channels, and reported around the world simply as a “U.N. report.” That branding launders the Commission’s allegations through the institutional credibility of the United Nations itself, giving them an authority the evidence does not earn. Most readers will never know the difference, and most headlines never mention it.
The report came this month, and its charges are the gravest of international law: war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Yet the only proof it offers is a body count and a theory. Nowhere does it identify a single Israeli soldier who looked at a child, knew the child was a civilian, faced no threat, and fired anyway because the child was the object of the attack. Not one.
The Commission convicts itself in its own caveats, and it does so repeatedly. Incident after incident, it “could not find any indication of a threat” (paragraph 58), “could not verify any claims of exchange of fire” (paragraph 89), does not know who fired or whether combat was underway nearby, and then somehow, every time, reaches a “clear conclusion” of intentional murder anyway.
Here is what the report says: Israeli forces deliberately targeted children across Gaza.
Here is what it leaves out: Hamas.
No tunnels, no human shields, no command posts under hospitals, no acknowledgment that Hamas spent 17 years building a military state beneath the civilian one, hiding rockets under children’s beds and a sniper’s rifle inside a child’s teddy bear. At paragraph 11, the Commission notes “reports of the use of children by the parties to the conflict,” then admits these “have not yet been investigated.” A report on children in armed conflict announces, on page four, that it never looked at the fact that the armed terrorist group in question uses children.
Take the signature horror: an armed quadcopter that, the Commission says, saw inside a tent in daylight and put a single round through a nursing ten-day-old’s head, and another through a four-year-old’s as she was eating. It calls the weapon, in paragraph 60, “a sniper rifle mounted on a quadcopter.” One glaring problem is that one of us served twenty-five years as a U.S. Army infantry soldier, has spent more than a decade studying modern warfare, and has made multiple trips into Gaza with the IDF. No such weapon exists. A .338 sniper rifle does not ride on a small quadcopter and deliver a precision head shot through a tent flap. The Commission appears to recognize this difficulty because four paragraphs later, the same platform is described as firing “an assault rifle,” and 10 paragraphs after that, it becomes “shotguns.” A drone is not a sniper. The report cannot consistently identify its own alleged murder weapon, yet it builds one of its most serious factual findings on this internally inconsistent account.
The forensics are worse because there are none. A child is shot; surgeons remove what the Commission is told was a three-centimeter bullet; and from that one secondhand line it “assesses” a .338 Lapua cartridge, a rifle, and an Israeli division (paragraph 68). No chain of custody, no laboratory, no proof the round was even Israeli. Its experts on ballistics and battlefield intent are doctors, who may be able to describe a wound but cannot know who fired the gun, from where, or why. The Commission cites them anyway, but only when their guesses point one way.
To be clear, children have died in Gaza in heartbreaking numbers, and every one is a tragedy. The laws of armed conflict recognize that civilian deaths, however tragic, can occur even during lawful attacks on military objectives. The legal question is not whether civilians died but why and under what circumstances. What is disputed is whether a child’s death, standing alone, proves a war crime. The Commission says it does. The law says it does not.
At paragraph 268, the report states its theory outright: because Israel “knew that children were present in the areas it attacked” and struck anyway, the attacks “were intentional” and the children “intentionally targeted collectively.” The Commission converts knowledge that civilians might be nearby into intent to kill them. That is simply not the law. Under the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocol I, knowing civilians are near a military objective triggers the duties of proportionality and precaution; it does not make the strike murder. The Rome Statute crime of attacking civilians requires that civilians be the object of the attack, not its regrettable cost. Genocide demands dolus specialis, the specific intent to destroy a group as such; the U.N.’s own International Court of Justice held in Bosnia v. Serbia that such intent must be the only reasonable inference from the conduct. The Commission infers a plan to destroy “the future of the Palestinians” from the bare fact that children died.
Its working rule is even simpler: any target Hamas hides among civilians becomes untouchable, and any civilian who dies beside it becomes proof of murder. The deeper Hamas burrows into homes and schools and hospitals, the safer it gets and the guiltier Israel looks, which inverts the very law that forbids using civilians as shields. The West Bank makes the inversion even plainer: the Commission counts 213 dead minors, tells readers that 206 were boys, and from that ratio divines a “policy of targeting boys” as “future terrorists.” A war on children does not kill boys at 97%. That statistic instead raises the obvious question: many of those “boys” were actively participating in hostilities.
Of course, the Commission never asks the question. Under U.N. definitions, every person under 18 is counted as a child, whether a 10-year-old in a classroom or a 17-year-old carrying an assault rifle. Hamas, meanwhile, has long recruited, trained, and used minors, including teenagers and younger children, a practice the Commission acknowledges has been reported but expressly declines to investigate. By collapsing all persons under 18 into a single category while omitting the role of child soldiers, the report invites readers to equate every “child” casualty with a civilian who was not participating in hostilities. That omission is central to its narrative.
This is how a libel becomes a fact. The body counts originate with the Hamas-run health ministry and are relayed to the world under a U.N. logo. Human rights groups, several funded by the anti-Israel governments that demanded the inquiry, refer to it as settled. Reporters cite the groups without reading the report; policymakers cite the resulting “consensus”; and within 48 hours, the media print “deliberately targeted” as if it is an established fact. It is the same machine that once blamed Israel for the Al-Ahli hospital blast that American, British, and Canadian intelligence traced to a misfired Palestinian rocket. Anti-Israel bias does not need evidence, only an audience that has already convicted Israel.
The messenger does matter, and here it is the Human Rights Council’s only open-ended commission of inquiry, aimed permanently at a single country, on a council where roughly half of all country-specific condemnations name Israel. The world still calls it the Pillay Commission, after the previous chair who famously pronounced Israel guilty of war crimes before she was appointed to judge it. When Washington, D.C., sanctioned the council’s Palestinian rapporteur last year, the commissioners themselves resigned and promised to “reconstitute.” They did not, however, reform it, so the remedy is simple.
A bipartisan group in Congress already drafted the Commission of Inquiry Elimination Act, which would cut U.S. dollars from a permanent mandate that runs on $4 million a year and has dropped even the pretense of fairness or due process. The United States already refuses to fund discriminatory U.N. conduct, and this qualifies by any measure. The Commission titled its report “The essence of childhood has been destroyed,” but it chose the wrong noun. What this report destroys is the essence of evidence, the rule that an accusation of murder must be proven and not merely felt. After 94 pages, it still identifies no soldier, no order, no forensic proof, no battlefield investigation establishing intent, and no evidence capable of sustaining the accusation it makes.
The proper response is not to treat this report as a serious finding. You cannot defend against insanity. But we can and should stop funding it.

At least 272 times. That’s how often Doctors Without Borders accused Israel of “genocide” in social media posts following the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023. Beyond the obviously disproportionate emphasis, the NGO, known in French as MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières), added its considerable voice to a political campaign in which the label genocide is reinterpreted uniquely for Israel, and in which the evidence is cynically manipulated.
As this and many other activities demonstrated, MSF has abandoned its mission of medical neutrality in joining virulent anti-Israel campaigns and abdicated its credibility, as a <a href="https://ngo-monitor.org/reports/ngo-malpractice-msf-doctors-without-borders-and-the-gaza-genocide-campaign/">new detailed research report from NGO Monitor</a> documents.
MSF repeated the false genocide accusation obsessively in press briefings, via actions by regional branches, and across social accounts. At least 272 times. It did not apply the label to Russia’s war in Ukraine nor to massive and indiscriminate regime bombing in Syria. Its focus cannot even be attributed to the centrality of Israel and Gaza in Western media; MSF all but ignored Hamas’ taking of Israeli hostages, referencing them as primary subjects in only three posts across all its international feeds – less than 1.1% of its “genocide” accusations.
To further anti-Israel narratives, MSF egregiously violated its claims of “strict adherence to humanitarian principles, independence, and medical ethics” following the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023. This would be concerning on its own, but it is especially horrific coming from a long-respected medical aid group.
“Genocide” is a consequential term. Coined by Jewish scholar Raphael Lemkin in the shadow of the Holocaust to denote its unprecedented evil, the label has rightly been sparingly employed, necessitating thresholds of mass carnage and, according to Lemkin, the “intent to destroy.”
In the Gaza conflict, there is clearly no intent on the part of Israel, other than to prevent Hamas from perpetrating another October 7-like calamity. Nevertheless, from the earliest moments of the Israeli response, MSF advanced increasingly defamatory labels for Israeli actions while consistently whitewashing Hamas’ crimes. MSF’s first social media post hours into the Hamas invasion – as hundreds of terrorists were still rampaging across southern Israel, murdering civilians, carrying out sexual atrocities, and taking hostages – was an <a href="https://x.com/MSF/status/1710665419164373462">unverified accusation</a> that Israel had caused the death of a nurse and an ambulance driver, dryly referencing a backdrop of “escalation between Israel and Gaza.”
Its press release on October 8 attempted <a href="https://www.msf.org/msf-performs-surgeries-donates-supplies-gaza-amid-overcrowded-facilities">to focus attention</a> on Israeli aggression and Gazan victimhood – again, as Hamas terrorists were still present in Israel. The statement included a casualty count provided by the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health, and only briefly mentioned the Israeli death toll, without addressing the Hamas assault.
MSF’s role as a primary source of misinformation came to an early head on October 17, when a large explosion occurred in the vicinity of Gaza’s Al-Ahli hospital. Within a very short time, the NGO issued and intensely promoted a <a href="https://www.doctorswithoutborders.ca/msf-condemns-bombing-of-ahli-arab-hospital-in-gaza/">press release</a> quoting Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, an MSF doctor who called the event “a massacre,” and who was paraded across Western media as an expert eyewitness to this ostensible example of “Israeli brutality.” In <a href="https://quillette.com/2025/12/10/the-humanitarian-mask-medecins-sans-frontieres-doctors-without-borders-gaza-israel/">further MSF-arranged interviews</a>, he used the event to accuse Israel of “systematically destroying Gaza’s health infrastructure,” and called it the moment he decided that Israel’s military campaign “stopped being a war, and became a genocide.”
But subsequent government analyses by the United States, Canada, and France, as well as an investigation by the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/23/pageoneplus/editors-note-gaza-hospital-coverage.html">New York Times</a>, concluded that the damage to the hospital was minimal and had been caused by a misfired Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket. Yet MSF never retracted or amended its claims, so that anyone using its reports and posts would continue to conclude that Israel was to be blamed for a “massacre.”
This trend of knee-jerk Israel demonization mounted as the war continued. In an <a href="https://www.msf.org/letter-gaza-un-security-council">open letter</a> to the UN Security Council on December 4, 2023, MSF International President Christos Christou accused Israel of “incessant and indiscriminate warfare,” and argued that “subjecting an entire population to collective punishment is a war crime under International Humanitarian Law” – assertions far beyond the purview of this ostensibly medical NGO. In October 2024, MSF <a href="https://www.msf.org/israel-and-allies-must-bring-year-long-war-gaza-end">accused Israel</a> of “unmitigated slaughter” without acknowledging Hamas’ exploitation of medical facilities (<a href="https://ngo-monitor.org/reports/hamas-misuse-hospitals-docs/">documented in depth</a> by NGO Monitor).
And in December 2024, MSF graduated to “genocide.” The NGO published a <a href="https://www.msf.org/life-death-trap-gaza-palestine">report</a> entitled “Life in a Death Trap,” framing Israel’s campaign to return its hostages and eliminate the Hamas threat as “crushing an entire population under bombs and rubble,” “ethnic cleansing,” and attempting “to unravel the very fabric of society in Gaza.”
MSF did acknowledge that it “do[es not] have legal authority to establish intentionality,” a core requirement for any finding of genocide. No matter, MSF decided: “our firsthand observations…are consistent with the descriptions provided by an increasing number of legal experts and organizations concluding that genocide is taking place in Gaza.” The only legal body MSF referenced, though, was the International Court of Justice (ICJ) – and MSF’s version markedly misrepresents the ICJ’s <a href="https://www.ajc.org/news/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-latest-international-court-of-justice-action-in-the-case">provisional</a> ruling, which did not actually make any determination on whether genocide had occurred.
MSF was founded in order to provide medical assistance to those most in need. Its recent behavior, however, has undermined that goal, stripping away the organization’s benevolent facade. Humanitarians do not ignore the actions of terrorist organizations. And humanitarians do not spread heinous allegations of “genocide” against the victims of hardened and unrepentant terrorist groups.

California State University, Northridge, is facing a wrongful termination lawsuit from an employee who alleges he was fired “because of his political views against antisemitism and advocacy on behalf of Jewish students and faculty.”
Sam Lingrosso, the university&#8217;s former Director of Academic Employees Relations, says in a <a href="https://peterlawgroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/2025-08-11-First-Amended-Complaint_Conformed-4.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complaint</a> that his December 2024 firing was the result of his efforts to assist Jewish faculty who raised safety concerns related to on-campus antisemitism in the wake of Hamas&#8217;s October 7 attack on Israel, especially near its one-year anniversary. According to a news release, Lingrosso is seeking damages under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act.
“CSUN had a duty to protect their Jewish faculty members and ensure a safe learning environment, free of threats and harassment,” Eyal Farahan, an attorney with the Peter Law Group, which filed the complaint, said in a statement. “Sam’s work should have been celebrated but, instead, he was unlawfully terminated in violation of multiple California statutes that protect employees from harassment.”
The 2023 attacks led to a surge in anti-Israel activism and antisemitic incidents on college campuses throughout the United States. The demonstrations, which ranged from encampments to protests, raised major red flags for Jewish students and staff on those campuses.
In the complaint, it outlines how Lingrosso asked campus police to “facilitate a safety plan” for a professor who raised concerns about “unsettling remarks written on posters he had displayed outside his office depicting American hostages in Israel” and voiced concerns that Jewish students had of “harassment or violence” in the wake of “pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus.”
Attorneys for the plaintiff wrote in the complaint that Interim Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs Christina L. Von Mayrhauser had given “unwarranted criticism” and undermined Lingrosso, saying it was “a direct consequence of Plaintiff’s proactive efforts to protect the safety and well-being of Jewish faculty and students.” In one incident, the aforementioned professor sent an email to &#8220;Jewish faculty and allies&#8221; thanking Lingrosso for his efforts to improve address safety concerns, but Von Mayrhauser allegedly took issue with a line in the professor&#8217;s message.
&#8220;The contrast between Plaintiff’s decisive actions and others’ inaction — particularly in Professor Katz’s statement that Plaintiff &#8216;has been focused on DOING things rather than talking about them&#8217; — was interpreted by Von Mayrhauser as a direct affront to her leadership. Her reaction was marked by visible displeasure and indignation, as she viewed the email as an attack on her authority and an attempt to undermine her credibility within the institution,&#8221; the complaint states.
Farahan added that campus leadership &#8220;failed to take meaningful action to confront hate and ultimately fostered a climate of indifference and fear&#8221; amid serious antisemitism woes at universities nationwide.
The university disagreed with the claims made in the lawsuit in a statement to The Daily Wire on Monday afternoon.
“California State University, Northridge is aware of a legal complaint filed by a former at-will employee. These spurious allegations are completely unfounded and the University will vigorously defend against them. The University remains committed to maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment for our entire campus community,&#8221; the university said in a statement.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer issued an ultimatum Tuesday, saying that the United Kingdom will recognize a “state of Palestine” if Israel does not meet certain conditions, including agreeing to a ceasefire and ending the conflict in Gaza.
Starmer threatened to formally recognize &#8220;Palestine&#8221; at the United Nations General Assembly in September if the conditions were not met.
“We will make an assessment in September on how far the parties have met this step, but no one should have a veto over our decision,” Starmer said. “So this is the way forward.”

He laid out several conditions, including ending the &#8220;appalling situation in Gaza,” agreeing to a ceasefire, committing to “a long-term sustainable peace,” reviving the prospect of a two-state solution, and not annexing areas in Judea and Samaria, also known as the West Bank.
Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, responded to Starmer’s announcement, pointing out that Israel has agreed several times to ceasefires which are typically rejected by Hamas.
&#8220;Israel has already agreed many times to a ceasefire,” Danon <a href="https://www.jfeed.com/news-israel/israel-britain-palestinian-state-dispute">said</a>. “No virtual recognition and no UN decision will change the basic fact that there are those who fight extremist forces, and there are those who bow their heads and ignore them.”
He added that Israel will do “everything necessary to bring home the hostages and defeat Hamas.&#8221;
Starmer also added that Israel must allow the “U.N. to restart the supply of aid,” although there is a large pile-up of UN aid inside Gaza that is in the process of being distributed.
“Yesterday I discussed this with President Trump and we’re mounting a major effort to get humanitarian supplies back in by air and U.K. aid has been airdropped into Gaza today,” he said.
President Donald Trump reportedly told reporters on Tuesday that Starmer did not discuss recognizing a Palestinian state during their meeting on Monday. Trump added that putting pressure on Israel right now rewards Hamas, <a href="https://x.com/BarakRavid/status/1950255370074488933" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to Axios&#8217;s</a> Barak Ravid.

The Trump administration says it boycotted a United Nations conference promoting the two-state solution on Monday, calling the event a “publicity stunt” and an “insult.”
“This week, the U.N. will serve as host to an unproductive and ill-timed conference on the two-state solution in New York City,” State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said in a statement. “This is a publicity stunt that comes in the middle of delicate diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.”
Bruce said the conference will “prolong the war, embolden Hamas, and reward its obstruction and undermine real-world efforts to achieve peace.”
Instead of participating, Bruce said the United States will continue leading efforts to end the fighting and deliver a permanent peace.
“Our focus remains on serious diplomacy: not stage-managed conferences designed to manufacture the appearance of relevance,” she said.
The boycott comes after President Donald Trump drew attention to what he described as “real starvation” in Gaza.

“The path to peace starts with recognizing the state of Palestine and preserving it from destruction,” Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said. “The rights of all peoples must be respected, the sovereignty of all states must be ensured. Palestine, and its people can no longer be the exception.”

Trump Administration Boycotts UN ‘Publicity Stunt’ Conference On Palestinian Statehood

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday that France will formally recognize a Palestinian state this September during the United Nations General Assembly.
In <a href="https://x.com/EmmanuelMacron/status/1948462359468802252" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a post on X</a>, Macron framed the move as part of a broader effort to fulfill France’s commitment to “a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.”
The announcement comes just hours after talks for a ceasefire and hostage deal fell through due to Hamas not acting “in good faith,” <a href="https://x.com/SEPeaceMissions/status/1948427713687040473" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff.
“We will now consider alternative options to bring the hostages home and try to create a more stable environment for the people of Gaza,” Witkoff wrote. “It is a shame that Hamas has acted in this selfish way.”
Macron outlined five key priorities: ending the war in Gaza, securing the release of hostages, delivering humanitarian aid to Gazans, demilitarizing Hamas, and rebuilding the Gaza Strip.
Macron wrote that it is “essential to build the State of Palestine, ensure its viability, and enable it, by accepting its demilitarization and fully recognizing Israel, to contribute to the security of all in the Middle East.”
“There is no alternative,” he added.
Macron said his decision followed commitments made to him by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Abbas is currently in his 20th year of what was originally a four-year term.
France is the most influential European country to recognize a Palestinian state, joining more than a dozen others — including Spain, Norway, Ireland, and Sweden. All told, over 140 countries have recognized a Palestinian state.
Israel has strongly opposed the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria, also known as the West Bank and Gaza, and says doing so now would reward the terrorists who murdered over 1,000 Israelis on October 7, 2023.

An influential Arab leader in Hebron, the West Bank’s largest city, is facing violent threats after proposing to break from the Palestinian Authority and join the Abraham Accords as an independent emirate seeking peace with Israel.
A source close to Sheikh Wadee’ al-Jaabari told The Daily Wire that the leader has received several violent threats since declaring his intentions in an interview with <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/new-palestinian-offer-peace-israel-hebron-sheikh-emirate-36dd39c3">the Wall Street Journal</a> published on Saturday.
Al-Jaabari, 48, is a leader of Hebron’s most influential clan, representing hundreds of thousands of Arabs in the area. He is reportedly backed by 21 other sheikhs who together represent about 554,000 people in the Hebron region, which has a population of roughly 700,000.
Despite the threats, al-Jaabari and his allies believe they have the Palestinian Authority outmanned and outgunned, thanks to his militia and the backing of the other sheikhs’ followers, according to the source.
The sheikhs told the Journal that it would take between one day and one week to remove the Palestinian Authority from Hebron.
The sheikh’s announcement comes just ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s White House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israeli-prime-minister-benjamin-netanyahu-to-visit-the-white-house?author=Kassy+Akiva&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Israeli+Prime+Minister+Benjamin+Netanyahu+To+Visit+The+White+House">meeting with</a> President Donald Trump. The sheikhs hope to gain support from both leaders for their new approach to achieving peace.
In a blow to the idea of a two-state solution, al-Jaabari signed a letter to the Israeli government outlining a path for peace and recognizing Israel as a Jewish state. 
“We want cooperation with Israel,” al-Jaabari told the Journal. “We want coexistence.”

The sheikh is known for breaking from the anti-Israel model of the Palestinian Authority and is often friendly to Israelis. In any such agreement with Israel, the sheikhs would prioritize fighting terrorism.
The letter, addressed to Israel’s Economy Minister Nir Barkat, was signed by four other leading sheikhs, many of whom remained anonymous in the Wall Street Journal article but are also facing violent threats.
“The Emirate of Hebron shall recognize the State of Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people,” the sheikhs wrote in the letter, according to the Journal. “[A]nd the State of Israel shall recognize the Emirate of Hebron as the Representative of the Arab residents in the Hebron District.” 
The establishment of an Emirate of Hebron would separate the Hebron region from the Palestinian Authority, which has never recognized Israel as a Jewish state.
Al-Jaabari says the Palestinian Authority, which is centralized in Ramallah, “doesn’t represent the Palestinians” and that the traditional clan governance of the Arab people in the region is a more sustainable alternative.

As an independent emirate, al-Jaabari envisions his region would join the Abraham Accords to pursue peace and economic cooperation with Israel. His plan calls for Israel to initially grant 1,000 work permits to Arabs from Hebron, many of which were revoked after Hamas’s October 7 attacks. Al-Jaabari hopes that the number will eventually grow to 50,000. He also plans to pursue the creation of a joint economic zone near the Israel-Hebron security fence to employ tens of thousands.
In response to the letter being brought to light, other members of the al-Jaabari family <a href="https://x.com/khaliljeries/status/1941885184934035556?s=46&amp;t=ghpHusspWPjTMisXwpsMaA">disavowed the sheikh</a> Sunday night, noting that he currently lives outside of Hebron.
“The Al-Jaabari family has long been rooted in the defense of Palestinian national principles, including the right of our people to self-determination and the protection of our land from the river to the sea,” the family members wrote, adding that they call on the public to not engage with al-Jaabari. 
Shortly after, the sheikhs supporting the Emirate of Hebron released a <a href="https://x.com/ElliotKaufman6/status/1941920513292406935">statement</a> accusing al-Jaabari’s extended family members of being “institutionally connected to the PA,” according to Wall Street Journal reporter Elliot Kaufman.
“This response stems from a natural and understandable concern that if Sheikh Jaabari’s initiative fails, the PA-aligned connections of certain leading members of the large clan could be severely damaged, potentially causing irreversible harm to the already fragile social fabric.”
The statement goes on to note that the “vast majority” of the al-Jaabari family “stand firmly behind Sheikh Wadee’ Jaabari and his historic, just, and necessary initiative to dismantle the Palestinian Authority and establish the Hebron Emirate.”
In a second statement, the sheikhs claimed that the Palestinian Authority has been in “complete panic” and has been arresting their family members to avoid making their intentions to make peace with Israel public.

Israelis living in the West Bank, also known as Judea and Samaria, have praised the idea of an Emirate of Hebron. 
“This is a break in the narrative of the Palestinian Authority,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fulfilling-biblical-prophecy-group-of-israelis-restore-king-davids-family-tomb">Yishai Fleischer</a>, the international spokesperson for the Jewish community of Hebron, told The Daily Wire. “These sheikhs are putting their lives on the line for this plan.”
Fleischer praised the group for refusing to tolerate terrorism, a stark difference from the Palestinian Authority’s “pay to slay” program, which has paid terrorists and their families for committing suicide attacks on civilians, including Americans.
“This plan is the end of the rule of the thuggish PA that tortures people and brainwashes kids to jihad,” Fleischer added.

Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH) in a Thursday <a href="https://www.moreno.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Bondi-Bowser.pdf">letter</a> called for Attorney General Pam Bondi and Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser to investigate the horrific murder of two Israeli embassy staff as an act of domestic terrorism.

Moreno, who has positioned himself as a staunch supporter of Israel, mourned the loss of the young couple: “As members of the Jewish community gathered in our nation&#8217;s capital this week from all over the world, their worst fears became reality.”
“Last night, this young couple, with the rest of their lives in front of them, was gunned down by a terrorist screaming ‘Free Palestine,’” Moreno said.
Lischinsky had bought a ring and planned to propose to Milgram in Jerusalem next week.
Moreno demanded immediate action from the DOJ and D.C. police: “The violence against Jews must stop.”
“In light of this horrific attack, I respectfully request you immediately launch an investigation into this hate crime and act of domestic terrorism. The city of Washington D.C. must also conduct a full review of the security failures that allowed this terrorist attack to happen,” Moreno said.
U.S. law enforcement appears to be moving in this direction, with FBI Director Kash Patel on Thursday characterizing the attack as “act of terror” and “targeted anti-Semitic violence.”

Moreno further <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/report/audit-antisemitic-incidents-2024">emphasized</a> the urgency of addressing antisemitic violence, noting, “In 2024, the nation saw the highest number of antisemitic incidents in almost 50 years,” in addition to the “344 percent increase in antisemitic incidents over the past five years and an 893 percent increase over the past 10 years,” per the Anti-Defamation League.
Moreno requested that authorities “launch an investigation into this hate crime and act of domestic terrorism, prosecute the heinous murderer to the fullest extent of the law,” and report to his office a review of &#8220;all protocols to identify how this security failure occurred.”
“Religious liberty is the very foundation of the origins of our great nation. We must do everything we can to stop hate crimes, domestic terrorism, and antisemitism in America, including prosecuting those who commit domestic terrorism and hate crimes, fully funding the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, and appropriating funds to the Department of Justice for grants to states for law enforcement to protect our religious institutions against acts of terror,” Moreno concluded.
