<p>President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> name-dropped a movie featuring Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage while defending the use of handcuffs to restrain illegal aliens aboard deportation flights out of the United States.</p>
<p>Trump referenced Cage&#8217;s 1997 action-movie &#8220;Con-Air&#8221; — in which a handful of convicts take over control of a plane that was supposed to be used to transport them to a new facility — and then argued that by keeping detainees handcuffed, federal immigration authorities were essentially attempting to prevent a similar scenario from playing out on their watch.</p>
<p>Responding to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/brazil-slams-trump-admin-for-shipping-illegals-back-in-handcuffs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complaints</a> from Brazilian officials about the fact that detainees had been handcuffed for their deportation flights — a practice that was also standard during former President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration — Trump made it clear that he was not planning to make any changes.</p>
<p>&#8220;We were being scolded because we had them in shackles in an airplane,&#8221; Trump said of the Brazilian official. &#8220;And he said, ‘This is no way to treat people.’ Now, you gotta understand these are murderers, drug lords, gang members, just the toughest people you’ve ever met or seen.&#8221;</p>

<p><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nicolas-cage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicolas Cage</a> said he thinks he&#8217;s only got &#8220;three or four more movies left&#8221; in him as he talked about retirement and ending his career on a &#8220;high note.&#8221;</p>
<p>During the 59-year-old actor&#8217;s interview with <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2023/12/nicolas-cage-interview-dream-scenario-film-career-awards-insider" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vanity Fair</a>, Cage talked about the time he has left on earth and said he wants to spend that doing something different in his career that he&#8217;s never done, like TV.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s starting to solidify—I&#8217;m starting to cement my plan,&#8221; the superstar actor said when asked if he&#8217;s at a turning point in his movie-making career. &#8220;I may have three or four more movies left in me.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I do feel I&#8217;ve said what I&#8217;ve had to say with cinema,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/nicolas-cage-retiring-movies-acting-1235709589/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a>. &#8220;I think I took film performance as far as I could. It occurred very clearly to me that I want to spend time with my family.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cage, who has appeared in at least one feature film for 37 consecutive years and counting, got his big break when he starred in &#8220;Raising Arizona&#8221; and &#8220;Moonstruck,&#8221; the outlet noted. In 2023 alone, the &#8220;Ghost Rider&#8221; star will have racked up six credits following the release in November of his movie &#8220;Dream Scenario.&#8221;</p>
<p>The &#8220;Renfield&#8221; star made it clear he&#8217;s going to slow down — but has no interest in stopping acting all together, as he expressed an interest in maybe switching &#8220;formats.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cage said, &#8220;Maybe it&#8217;s time to look at the immersive streaming experience. I don&#8217;t know. I have to look for the next step and I haven&#8217;t found it yet.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I do want to get much more severe and stringent in my selection process,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But I want to look ahead. I want to see what&#8217;s next.&#8221;</p>
<p>The superstar actor has three children, his youngest, daughter August Francesca, was born last year. He shares her with wife Riko Shibata, whom he married in 2021. <p>&#8220;Let me think. Listen, I know this sounds really far out, and I don&#8217;t know if it&#8217;s real or not, but sometimes I think I can go all the way back to in utero and feeling like I could see faces in the dark or something,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/24-year-old-rust-armorer-once-made-nicolas-cage-curse-storm-off-set-after-firing-gun-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cage</a> replied. &#8220;I know that sounds powerfully abstract, but that somehow seems like it maybe happened.&#8221;</p>
<p>Colbert responded with a follow-up question, asking the Oscar winner whether he thought he had seen faces because there may have been &#8220;other people in there&#8221; at the time — or whether he believed that he had been able to imagine or &#8220;conjure&#8221; faces even before he was born.</p>
<p>&#8220;Now that I am no longer in utero, I would have to imagine it was perhaps vocal vibrations resonating through to me at that stage,&#8221; Cage replied. &#8220;That&#8217;s going way back. I don&#8217;t know. That comes to mind &#8230; I don&#8217;t even know if I remember being in utero, but that thought has crossed my mind.&#8221;</p>

<p>“There you go. I go &#8216;Face/Off,&#8217; but that&#8217;s okay,&#8221; Colbert joked.</p>
<p>&#8220;Oh, I like that one a lot! I love &#8216;Face/Off,’” Cage agreed, adding, &#8220;You know, what was interesting about &#8216;Face/Off&#8217; — and I could&#8217;ve mentioned &#8216;Vampire&#8217;s Kiss.&#8217; &#8216;Vampire&#8217;s Kiss&#8217; was a little movie I made where I was able to explore my more abstract dreams with film performance. I was sadly playing a character who was losing his mind that he was beginning to think he was the vampire from the original Nosferatu movie. And when you&#8217;re playing a character who&#8217;s losing his mind, he can believe he&#8217;s Nosferatu. So I got to act like a German expressionistic silent movie star.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;And that was cool, these facial expressions and what not. But &#8216;Face/Off&#8217; was a big studio movie that I made at Paramount and I was able to use what I learned from this little &#8216;Vampire&#8217;s Kiss&#8217; movie and put it in this giant movie and it worked. I was like, &#8216;People really dig this,’” Cage concluded.</p>

<p>Cage, who stars as the infamous Count Dracula in the recently-released horror comedy &#8220;Renfield,&#8221; said in a Yahoo! News <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/nicolas-cage-says-regrets-eating-135333852.html?guccounter=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> published the day the film was released in theaters that he regretted the decision to eat the cockroach. The discussion also featured his &#8220;Renfield&#8221; co-star Nicholas Hoult — who takes on the titular role.</p>

<p>The &#8220;Leaving Las Vegas&#8221; actor has discussed the moment before, noting that the original script had called for him to eat a raw egg and explaining that he didn&#8217;t believe that went far enough. &#8220;I saw it as a business decision because when people see the cockroach go in my mouth &#8230; [they] really react,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>After the first take, Cage said that Bierman asked him to do it again — but maintains that he always intended to use the first take and only demanded a second in order to make his star eat another insect. &#8220;I ate [roaches] twice because the director did it as a prank,&#8221; Cage said.</p>
<p>Hoult got a reprieve, however, and when the script called for Renfield — Dracula&#8217;s long-suffering assistant — to chomp on an insect, he got a sweet treat instead.</p>
<p>&#8220;The cockroaches I got to eat in this were caramel,&#8221; Hoult said — but he added that he did eat some dried crickets, which he said were fine because they had been seasoned. &#8220;I also had crickets that were actually quite yummy; they were salt and vinegar flavored or barbecue smoky flavored.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cage was quick to point out that Hoult had also eaten a real potato bug — something that he said was terrifying to him personally — but Hoult was much less thrilled with the taste of that one.</p>
<p>&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t good. It didn&#8217;t dry out so good, and tasted every bit of bug,&#8221; Hoult said.</p>

<p>Superstar Nicolas Cage shot down the idea that fans will ever see him in a &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; project and explained that he&#8217;s a &#8220;trekkie&#8221; and his place is on the deck of the Star Trek Enterprise.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nicolas-cage">59-year-old</a> actor responded to the idea — which was floated by his former costar Pedro Pascal — after the Disney+ &#8220;The Mandalorian&#8221; star said he wanted to bring Cage into the famed &#8220;Star Wars&#8221; universe, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/news/nicolas-cage-rejects-star-wars-for-star-trek-1235482216/">Variety</a> reported.</p>

<p>The &#8220;Ghost Rider&#8221; star explained how he &#8220;grew up watching [William] Shatner&#8221; and thought the new generation of actors in the &#8220;Star Trek&#8221; franchise like Chris Pine were &#8220;terrific in the movies.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I think the movies are outstanding,&#8221; Cage shared. &#8220;I like the political and the sociological [messages]. To me, what science fiction is really all about and why it&#8217;s such an important genre is that really you can say whatever you want, however you feel.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;You put it on a different planet, you put it in a different time or in the future, and without people just jumping on you, you can really express your thoughts like Orwell or whomever in the science-fiction format,&#8221; the actor added. &#8220;And Star Trek really embraced that. I thought they got into some serious stuff.&#8221;</p>
<p>In September at the Disney&#8217;s D23 expo, Pascal shared that he had already pitched the idea of having Cage joining him on the hit Disney series following their 2022 buddy film &#8220;The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,&#8221; the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/01/09/nicolas-cage-is-no-star-wars-fan-im-a-trekkie/">New York Post</a> noted.</p>
<p>&#8220;I already suggested [it],&#8221; Pascal shared at the time. &#8220;I already said he would make a great Mandalorian.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;He&#8217;ll wear a helmet,&#8221; he added.  &#8220;Absolutely … Or he could be one of the helmet-less.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Shatner-lead late 60s &#8220;Star Trek&#8221; TV series branched off into a hugely successful franchise, leading to 13 films to date, not to mention all the hit TV series that stem from the &#8220;Star Trek&#8221; world, since the original aired in 1966, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/nicholas-cage-not-joining-star-wars-star-trek-1235293231/">Hollywood Reporter</a> noted.</p>

Nicolas Cage Shoots Down Idea Fans Will Ever See Him In A ‘Star Wars’ Project, Explains He’s A ‘Trekkie’

<p>Hollywood legend <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nicolas-cage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nicolas Cage</a> revealed in a recent interview that, as a child, he had truly believed that he was from another planet.</p>
<p>Cage explained to <a href="https://ramp.space/en/issue/by-the-way" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rampstyle</a> magazine that his younger self was so entirely convinced that he was an alien that a simple trip to the doctor&#8217;s office — and a view inside his own body — had once delivered a massive paradigm shift.</p>
<p>&#8220;I was shocked the day I went to the doctor’s office as a child and I found out that I had normal organs and a normal skeleton because I was certain I was from another planet,&#8221; Cage said, going on to add that one of the main reasons he had <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/12/13/nicolas-cage-thought-he-was-an-alien-as-a-child/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">believed that</a> was because he had always found relating to other people to be painfully difficult.</p>
<p>&#8220;My father told me he felt like he had to introduce himself to me because I was such an alien,&#8221; Cage said of his father, the late author and film executive August Coppola.</p>
<p>Cage then explained that the feeling of being alien — along with a little inspiration from late artist David Bowie — led him toward acting.</p>
<p>&#8220;I had difficulties connecting with other people. When I saw David Bowie in ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth,’ I realized I needed to do something, so I became an actor,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>Cage is no stranger to finding himself in the middle of, well, <em>strange</em> stories — it was revealed in a New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/03/23/nicolas-cages-wild-menagerie-included-a-two-headed-snake/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> published earlier this year that the Oscar-winning actor had once owned a two-headed snake and enjoyed the fact that his pet crow insulted him when he left the room.</p>
<p>The &#8220;National Treasure&#8221; actor explained he had bought the two-headed reptile for $80,000 after dreaming about an eagle with two heads — but because the two heads fought over food, he eventually donated it to the Audubon Zoo.</p>
<p>&#8220;Both heads were fully functional and capable of swallowing. We had to take turns feeding each head and place a rubber spatula between the heads to prevent one head from fighting over the other head’s food,&#8221; Robert Mendyk, curator of herpetology at the zoo, explained to the Post.</p>
<p>As for the crow, <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/awards/story/2022-01-26/nicolas-cage-on-pig-elvis-dracula-and-his-career" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cage says</a> Hoogan talks — and he&#8217;s not very complimentary: &#8220;When I leave the room, he’ll go &#8216;bye&#8217; and then go, &#8216;A**.’”</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Earlier this year, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bruce-willis-reveals-diagnosis-that-is-taking-him-out-of-the-hollywood-game" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bruce Willis retired from acting</a> after revealing his battle with aphasia, a medical condition that impacts a person’s speech patterns.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The announcement didn’t stop the flow of Willis projects in the pipeline, though.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Wire Room” hit theaters in September and “Paradise City,” which teams him with screen legend John Travolta, is set for a November release.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’re still waiting on three “Detective Knight” films with Willis playing the title character and a thriller dubbed “Die Like Lovers,” all completed before his announcement.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That’s on top of Willis’ 2022 release list, which includes “Wrong Place,” “White Elephant,” “Vendetta,” “Corrective Measures,” “A Day to Die,” “Gasoline Alley,” and “Fortress: Sniper’s Eye.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They all have plenty in common: They’re action-packed, low-budget vehicles that draw little love from critics and let Willis shoot his scenes quickly and go. And each benefits from Willis’ star presence and fan base, commercially speaking.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And none will have a fraction of the cache he earned from “Die Hard,” “Pulp Fiction,” or “The Sixth Sense.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, there’s another Hollywood icon who may be ready to take his place.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mel Gibson’s A-list status collapsed in 2006 when video emerged of him shouting anti-Semitic slurs at police officers following a drunken driving arrest. More ugly headlines followed, including audio of the “Braveheart” star admitting to hitting his then-girlfriend.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Gibson stepped away from the spotlight, returning years later in a series of indie films that let him slowly build back his industry goodwill.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It worked.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He eventually snagged a prominent directorial project, 2016’s “Hacksaw Ridge,” a critical and commercial success which earned him an Oscar nomination. He didn’t win, but enough of the industry forgave him for his ugly past.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He’s currently directing and starring in the fifth film in the “Lethal Weapon” franchise and may helm the sequel to his box office sensation “The Passion of the Christ.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yet he’s suddenly one of Hollywood’s busiest stars in the Willis mold. He’s cranking out action films with smaller budgets that typically go straight to VOD (Video on Demand).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This year alone Gibson has eight feature films to his credit. Most traditional movie stars may have two or three films per year, at best. Stars like Denzel Washington work at a more leisurely pace, taking care to pick the best projects for their skill set.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Not Gibson. And only one has big studio packaging – “Father Stu” featuring Mark Wahlberg.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Most of the Gibson projects feel like films Willis might have considered had he kept on working. They’re genre films, brimming with action, intrigue and mayhem, and Gibson now often plays supporting players despite his Hollywood pedigree.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Take “Hot Seat,” the story of a talented hacker (“Entourage” alum Kevin Dillon) trapped to an explosives-laden chair. Gibson co-stars as a bomb squad cop trying to save the hacker.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Or “Bandit,” which follows a smooth criminal (Josh Duhamel) forced to collaborate with a gangster (Gibson) to support his new love (Elisha Cuthbert).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Why would iconic stars like Willis and Gibson wallow in the B-movie muck in the first place? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Well, it’s a gig, for starters. These projects often pay well considering the tiny work load in question.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And, given Hollywood’s youth obsession, steady work into one’s 60s and beyond isn’t insignificant. Willis is 67, while Gibson turns 67 in January 2023.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Other established talent, like 58-year-old Nicolas Cage, similarly grab B-movie projects to keep busy and fatten their wallets. Cage famously did so, in part, after getting </span><a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/news/nicolas-cage-defends-vod-films-debt-1235211377/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">collared by the IRS</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">“When I was doing four movies a year, back to back to back, I still had to find something in them to be able to give it my all … They didn’t work, all of them. Some of them were terrific, like ‘Mandy,’ but some of them didn’t work. But I never phoned it in. So if there was a misconception, it was that. That I was just doing it and not caring. I was caring.”</span></i></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For Willis, his busy pace may have been to secure money for his family knowing his medical condition would soon prevent him from working.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Movie stars no longer sell tickets as they once did, witness star-laded bombs like the recent “Amsterdam.” Their names still matter on the international market, where many of these B-movies blossom, financially speaking.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">They also help elevate lesser-known titles with names like “Bandit” and “Wire Room.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There’s another difference between Willis’ late-career choices and the path Gibson may be following. Critics routinely noticed Willis phoning in his performances, citing the lack of enthusiasm he brought to these minor roles.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">His health deterioration may be to blame here but given his past work it proved impossible not to compare and contrast.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Variety called the actor’s “Panama” &#8211; </span><a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/reviews/panama-review-mel-gibson-1235206203/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Mel Gibson Movie of the Month Club</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> – but couldn’t deny the star’s screen presence against a younger colleague, “Yellowstone’s” Cole Hauser.</span></p>
<blockquote><p><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Trouble is, Hauser can barely hold up his share of the bargain whenever he’s on screen opposite Gibson, even when the latter tones down, slightly, his propensity for wild-eyed, crazy-vibes scenery-chewing.&#8221;</span></i></p></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Show business isn’t just a catch phrase. The term reveals the unglamorous side of Hollywood, and the cold realities even the best stars often face. The screen legacies of Willis, Gibson and Cage are just more proof of that truth.</span></p>

<p>The Washington Post resorted to using a Disney movie as a reference in an article explaining the significance of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) with regard to the recent <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/doj-says-fbi-seized-possible-attorney-client-privileged-information-in-trump-raid/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FBI raid</a> of former President Donald Trump&#8217;s Mar-a-Lago home.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/08/27/trump-archives-records-war/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a>, titled &#8220;Inside Trump&#8217;s War on the National Archives,&#8221; dug into some of the threats and hate that have reportedly been directed toward NARA in the three weeks since FBI agents raiding Mar-a-Lago and removed a number of boxes of documents that had been stored there.</p>
<p>But while attempting to explain the back-and-forth between the NARA and Trump — who is certainly not the first former president to find himself at odds with the administration over ownership of records — the authors of the article included a reference to Disney&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://dailywire.com/news/aaron-rodgers-shows-up-for-training-camp-dressed-as-nic-cage-from-con-air/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">National Treasure</a>&#8221; in an effort to paint a clearer picture of the Archives.</p>
<p>The Post shared a portion of an internal email from acting archivist Debra Steidel Wall to NARA staffers, which read in part, &#8220;NARA has received messages from the public accusing us of corruption and conspiring against the former President, or congratulating NARA for &#8216;bringing him down.&#8217; Neither is accurate or welcome.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The email capped a year-long saga that has embroiled the Archives — widely known for being featured in the 2004 Nicolas Cage movie, &#8216;National Treasure&#8217; — in a protracted fight with Trump over classified documents and other records that were taken when he left office,&#8221; the Post added in the following paragraph.</p>
<p>&#8220;This is the funniest possible bit of context to include when explaining what the national archives actually is,&#8221; Texas Monthly Senior Editor Dan Solomon said of the reference.</p>

Cage gave two responses to that question: &#8220;Apocalypse Now,&#8221; and &#8220;Spirited Away.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;One of your most fascinating performances to me was as Big Daddy in &#8216;Kick-Ass,'&#8221; another posted. &#8220;When you were crafting that performance, was Adam West the biggest inspiration for your superhero persona, or were there other sources you felt you drew more heavily from?&#8221;</p>
<p>Cage confirmed that he had, in fact, been inspired by the legendary &#8220;Batman&#8221; actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/icon-adam-west-dead-88-frank-camp">Adam West</a>. &#8220;I would give it all to Adam West. I grew up watching him on the 60s Batman show and he is where it begins and where it ends as Big Daddy. I met Adam West once and I said, &#8216;Did you see I was channeling you?&#8217; and he said, &#8216;I saw you TRY to channel me!'&#8221;</p>
<p>One jokingly addressed Cage as fellow actor John Travolta, playing on the fact that the two had switched identities in the movie &#8220;Face/Off.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Dear Mr. Travolta, How has life changed for you since changing faces with Nicholas Cage? Do you regret the decision or would you do it again?&#8221; the poster asked, prompting Cage to respond simply, &#8220;Hahahaha.&#8221;</p>
<p>Another asked whether he found himself annoyed by fans who yelled lines from his movies at him in public: &#8220;What&#8217;s the movie quote you hate most when strangers holler it at you in public?&#8221;</p>
<p>Cage said he wasn&#8217;t terribly bothered by fans doing that — and that to him it was just a sign that they enjoyed and remembered his work.</p>
<p>&#8220;I don’t have a problem with any of the quotes, I’m glad they remember the movie,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>Cage also said that if only three of his films could be preserved for the sake of posterity, the ones he would choose would be &#8220;Pig,&#8221; &#8220;Bringing Out The Dead,&#8221; and &#8220;Leaving Las Vegas.&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A fellow Hollywood actor is weighing in on the Alec Baldwin gun safety debacle. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A-lister Nicolas Cage has participated in plenty of movies over the course of his decades-long career and has learned how to safely handle props. While he didn’t fully blame Baldwin for the tragedy on the set of the movie “Rust,” the “Face/Off” alum did mention that it was imperative for actors to be trained in the handling of weapons.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cage made the remarks during a roundtable </span><a href="https://youtu.be/tPXHSuJWOqk"><span style="font-weight: 400;">discussion</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> with actors Peter Dinklage, Andrew Garfield, Jonathan Majors, and Simon Rex for The Hollywood Reporter this week. The group moderator brought up the “Rust” incident, which left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and director Joel Souza injured. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to cast blame anywhere, but I do think, and I&#8217;m not talking about anybody, but people don&#8217;t like the word movie star. We want to be humble actors,” Cage said in response to the prompt.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“But a movie star is a bit of a different kind of presentation because you need to know how to ride a horse,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;You need to know how to fight. You&#8217;re going to do fight scenes. You need to know how to ride a motorcycle. You need to know how to use a stick shift and drive sports cars, and you do need to know how to use a gun. You do. You need to take the time to know what the procedure is. Those are part of the job profiles.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The “Lord of War” star went on to stress the importance of stunt people for the most dangerous activities during filming.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;Now, the stuntman and the movie star are two jobs that co-exist, they co-exist,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Every stuntman needs to be a movie star and every movie star needs to be a stuntman. That&#8217;s just part of the profile&#8230; And that&#8217;s all I&#8217;m going to say about it.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage added his thoughts as well, explaining how he believed movies shouldn’t have as many guns in them, period. He also described himself as “anti-gun.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;It can be avoided because look at what you can do with movies,&#8221; the actor said. &#8220;You know that also calls into question, are there too many guns in movies?”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He continued, “We&#8217;ve all held guns in movies, probably, and I always think about that being anti-gun myself, but the character isn&#8217;t. That&#8217;s a very complicated thing. But that made it very clear that there has to be change, like, now. One hundred percent.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Baldwin has expressed his sympathy for the fatal incident but maintains that he was not ultimately at fault for the death of Hutchins.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When asked, “Do you feel guilt?” by ABC News host George Stephanopoulos during an exclusive interview, </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/baldwin-on-if-he-feels-guilt-for-killing-halyna-hutchins-no-someone-is-responsible-its-not-me"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Baldwin insisted</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> it was someone else to blame. </span></p>
