Picture this: a Muslim-only city governed by Sharia law, beyond the reach of democratically elected officials. We’d expect this in the Middle East or North Africa. But it’s happening in Texas, and its founders call it EPIC City.
The East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) is the largest mosque in Texas and one of the largest in the United States. Last year, several members of the mosque formed Community Capital Partners LP (CCP) and <a href="https://www.latintimes.com/abbott-says-texas-halted-construction-muslim-residential-project-developers-say-it-hasnt-started-582871">announced</a> the formation of EPIC City, a master-planned Islamic development project that “caters to the evolving needs of families [in] the Muslim community.”
After EPIC City’s plans went viral earlier this spring, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and other top officials acted swiftly. “Sharia law is not allowed in Texas,” Abbott said. “Nor are Sharia cities. Nor are ‘no go zones’ which [the EPIC City] project seems to imply.”
The Texas Funeral Service Commission sent a cease-and-desist letter to EPIC for operating as an unlicensed funeral home. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality <a href="https://senate.texas.gov/cmtes/89/c540/c540_InterimReport_2024.pdf">told them</a> that “any construction or development…is in violation of state law and should be halted immediately.” The Texas Attorney General, State Securities Board, Workforce Commission, and Rangers each launched their own investigations. The Justice Department initiated its own federal inquiry, too.
All this unfolded in the span of about a month. But now the issue has largely faded from headlines. The Justice Department closed its short-lived investigation, <a href="https://npr.brightspotcdn.com/06/f5/520b8fd84c9181e2f1e864d8fddd/2025-06-13-letter-from-doj-to-epic.pdf">noting</a> that EPIC City was “still in the planning stage.” And this week, as the Texas Legislature convenes for a Special Session, nothing on the agenda appears to address the nascent EPIC City.
So, is it over? Nothing to see here? Was this just a flare-up fueled by online activists fear mongering about a coming caliphate in Texas?
Hardly. In fact, I believe it’s just beginning. EPIC City reflects a deeper civilizational conflict unfolding in Texas. The silence now surrounding it doesn’t show a lack of evidence of wrongdoing; rather, it shows a lack of an intellectual framework to publicly discuss a domestic culture clash.
While officials search for technical violations, ordinary Texans see something deeply wrong. Even if EPIC City survives scrutiny from a dozen government agencies, they sense something isn’t right.
Concerned Texans look to major cities in Europe where large, concentrated Muslim populations have transformed neighborhoods into Islamist ghettos.
They see similar trends in Dearborn, Michigan; Paterson, New Jersey; and Minneapolis, Minnesota.
They listen to Muslim politicians like Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who represent heavily Islamic districts, and hear an endless stream of anti-American vitriol.
They see groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) publicly supporting EPIC City and recall CAIR’s connections with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Free Palestine and Boycott-Divest-Sanction movements, and other anti-Israel and antisemitic causes. They worry EPIC City could become a breeding ground for radicalism.
Globally, they see Muslim-majority countries plagued by dysfunction, repression, and a stifling lack of freedom. So, when EPIC’s resident scholar <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/news/faith/2025/02/24/they-dream-of-building-muslim-centric-neighborhoods-near-dallas-will-it-work">Yasir Qadhi says</a> “we’re going to be showing what it means to be a Muslim neighborhood,” they reasonably expect such a neighborhood to become a similarly disordered microcosm.
They see EPIC City already shifting its messaging under scrutiny, replacing <a href="https://www.dallasobserver.com/news/a-timeline-of-the-muslim-epic-city-controversy-22295318">original advertising</a> — “we will limit sales to only persons we believe will contribute to the overall makeup of our community” — with <a href="https://epicccp.com">sanitized corporate language</a> promising “vibrant, multigenerational and inclusive master planned community.”
They look at EPIC City’s geographic isolation and all-in-one amenities and see a project intentionally designed to avoid integrating into broader American society.
They know Sharia law is illegal in America and that American law — rooted in the Western Christian tradition and Anglo common law — need not embrace every Islamic practice.
They remember the cultural upheaval following the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which opened the floodgates to mass immigration after nearly a century of restricted entry and successful assimilation. The Muslim population in America was virtually nonexistent before the mid-1960s. It has since swelled to around 4 million. Texans have felt the destabilizing effects of mass migration and want less of it.
They understand that America is fundamentally a Christian nation — a nation that faithfully protects religious minorities under the First Amendment, but that remains deeply Christian in character. When Texans see their state’s largest mosque planning fully integrated, self-contained Muslim communities, they reasonably feel it doesn’t belong here.
I don’t believe these concerns stem from bigotry or hate. Texans love our neighbors and respect religious freedom. But this is different. Even if EPIC City passes every legal and regulatory test, do we really remain defenseless to protect our civilization from Islamization? I don’t think so.
So, what’s next?
First, state executive-branch agencies should remain vigilant in their investigations to stop EPIC’s plans before they take root. Remember: most sophisticated organized crime rings aren’t taken down for murder, trafficking, or the like, but for tax evasion or other process crimes.
Second, the Texas legislature should strengthen the recently-passed <a href="https://www.keranews.org/government/2025-06-26/texas-property-law-epic-city-abbott">HB 4211</a>, designed to “ensure developments like EPIC City are unable to impose Sharia law in Texas” and grant the attorney general stronger enforcement powers.
Lastly, Texans should speak out: We don’t want EPIC City or any Sharia enclaves here. We welcome assimilable, Western-aligned patriots of all faiths to live peacefully in our country. But we cannot abide the vision that EPIC City represents. We will not — and will never — replace Old Glory with the Crescent Moon.

A mosque near the home of the suspected ISIS member behind the New Year&#8217;s Eve terrorist attack in New Orleans directed members to refer FBI inquiries to CAIR, a controversial group whose leader celebrated Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attack on Israeli civilians.
Fifteen people were killed and 35 injured when 42-year-old Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an American citizen and Army veteran from Texas, rammed a white pickup truck through a crowd in a blocked-off area of the French Quarter before opening fire. Jabbar, who was in possession of an ISIS flag, was killed by law enforcement at the scene.
The Houston Masjid Bilal, which is affiliated with the Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH), posted to social media encouraging its members to not respond to inquiries from the media and “if approached by the FBI and a response is necessary, please refer to CAIR and ISGH.”

The statement instructed members to remain vigilant and added that it is “crucial that we stay united at this time as we condemn these terrible acts.”
The Middle East Media Research Institute shared a video on Thursday of Masjid Bilal’s Imam, Eiad Soudan, going on an anti-Semitic tirade where he explains why he thinks Hitler killed Jews.
“Why does the whole world want them to stay in Palestine? Because if they don’t stay in Palestine, they will go back to their countries,” and “they like to take control of the economy, everywhere they go…That is why the other countries don’t want them back.”
“Until this guy Hitler, with the nice moustache, came to power, he became empowered and we all know what he did. By the way, Hitler hated the Israelites so bad because of the economy thing they were in control of the economy.”

An FBI spokesperson <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyzxbQjWwQo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">on Thursday said</a> that Jabbar posted five videos online about his terrorism plans and his support for ISIS.
“Jabbar explains that he originally planned to harm his family and friends but was concerned the news headlines would not focus on the quote ‘war between the believers and the disbelievers,&#8217;” the FBI Deputy Assistant Director Christopher Raia said. “He states that he joined ISIS before this summer.”

Raia said the FBI believes Jabbar acted alone, renting a Ford F-150 in Houston before driving to New Orleans on the 31st. Two functional IEDs were found in coolers near the attack site, and authorities are investigating three recovered phones and two laptops linked to Jabbar.
“Whether you know Jabbar personally, worked with him, served in the military, or saw him in New Orleans or Texas, we need to talk to you,” he said. “You may not think you have relevant information, but what you know could tie in to one of our investigative leads.”
CAIR told The Daily Wire that they have not yet assumed an official role of handling inquiries for Houston Masjid Bilal, but strongly condemned the terror attack in a statement.
“We join the New Orleans Muslim community in extending our condolences to the families of those killed in the horrific, senseless and infuriating Bourbon Street attack,” CAIR wrote in a statement. “May God comfort the families of the victims, heal the injured and protect humanity from those who dare to commit such cowardly acts of mass violence.”
It added that Jabbar had a history of drunk driving, spousal abuse, and allegedly plotted to kill his family before “experiencing dreams telling him to join Daesh (ISIS).”
“[H]is crime is the latest example of why cruel, merciless, bottom-feeding extremist groups have been rejected by the overwhelming majority of the Muslim world – from Islamic scholars, to mosques, to organizations, and to individual Muslims,” CAIR added.
A spokesperson was unable to confirm if Jabbar was a member of the mosque.
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/muslim-american-group-that-celebrated-hamas-attack-hopes-to-have-40-members-in-congress-in-10-years" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously reported</a> that CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad said he was “happy to see” Gazans “breaking the siege and throwing down the shackles of their own land” on October 7, the day Hamas massacred over a thousand Israeli civilians. He added that Israel does not have the right to self-defense.
The Biden administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/white-house-scrambles-to-distance-itself-from-cair-after-shocking-anti-semitic-statements" target="_blank" rel="noopener">distanced itself</a> from Awad following the remarks and <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/12/08/us/politics/white-house-cair-nihad-awad.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">removed</a> CAIR as a partner from a White House fact sheet for its National Strategy to Counter Anti-Semitism.
On October 7, as Hamas was still actively attacking Israeli communities, CAIR’s official X <a href="https://x.com/CAIRNational/status/1710758201358966893" target="_blank" rel="noopener">account posted</a> its “support for the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and calling for an end to the Israeli occupation.”
The post blamed Israel for Hamas’ attack, claiming the Jewish state “sparks the deadly violence that we see again and again, including today.” The thread on X concluded by calling on the U.S., and Arab and Muslim governments to “exert maximum pressure on the Israeli government” to “respect Palestinian human rights and end the occupation,” despite the attackers coming from Gaza which Israel withdrew from in 2005.
The <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/council-american-islamic-relations-cair" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anti-Defamation League</a> notes that other CAIR leaders have made anti-Semitic remarks, including CAIR’s San Francisco Bay Area Executive Director, Zahra Billoo, who once declared that “Zionists” are “your enemies,” warning followers to “pay attention” to “Zionist synagogues,” Hillels, and Jewish federations. After October 7, Billoo said the violence was the world “witnessing decolonization.”
Hussam Ayloush, CEO and Executive Director of CAIR Greater Los Angeles Area once said Israel does not have a right to defend itself, and <a href="https://www.memri.org/reports/cair-la-director-hussam-ayloush-november-2023-islamic-society-orange-county-event-israel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> that “Israel should be attacked.”
Similarly, on October 7 and 9, Zainab Chaudry, CAIR’s Director of Maryland Outreach, <a href="https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounder/council-american-islamic-relations-cair" target="_blank" rel="noopener">referred</a> to Hamas’ attack as an “uprising” against “colonizers” and called Hamas terrorists “Palestinian freedom fighters.” In November, Abdullah Jaber, Executive Director, CAIR Florida, stated that Israeli Jews are not followers of “Abraham, Moses, or Jesus.”

Connecticut Democratic Senator Chris Murphy and the Biden administration are saying there’s an epidemic of loneliness among Americans.
That’s true. There is an epidemic of loneliness in the country. But their proposed solution is, “What if we actually use the government to fix loneliness?”
Murphy is positing some sort of legislation to establish a national strategy to combat loneliness and promote social connection. He says kids are addicted to algorithms and that evidence shows a decade ago, when teenagers actually had to do more work to find things they cared about or to make connections with their peers rather than depend on the algorithm, they were actually happier.
That’s true — but it’s not the real reason why kids are lonely. Yes, the algorithm is addictive. No, I would not give my kids cell phones with apps on them or access to social media. But blaming it on the decline of parental capacity to stop kids from accessing social media is wrong. The loneliness is really about the decline of community.
Where is that decline of community coming from? Obviously, it’s coming from a decline in religious affiliation.
According to <a href="https://mailer.dailywire.com/click?fre=N36s1Hss3T6SGt9RObrEEIYiyjcmRhgBbXz7_ZzltVTsYrOXGwuyAt3KBVLtErbQA47c1IEEkmoV_I5UXcbpolAO1ml_fj9_KSKCE4Y13SeMgWqEIPHIjILRcpLBl_m3e-6WV9kNlcOL3YKnDFJWLKTPEYbAHUCj88qMKKsQCe-ivuI4PN35qL0zGouaFpnwSVfSkxz14g==" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a brand new Gallup poll</a>, the percentages of Americans who believe in five religious entities (God, angels, heaven, hell, and the devil) “have edged downward by three to five percentage points since 2016.” 74% believe in God right now, which is down from 90% in 2001. That is a marked decline.
And there is a very strong correlation between political affiliation and religious belief. The poll data shows, “Between 78% to 87% of Republicans believe in the five entities.” Only 56% to 66% of Democrats believe in God, angels, and heaven. Further, “less than half say they believe in Hell and the devil,” which makes perfect sense.
Less than half of Democrats believe in hell and the devil, because that might actually imply actual punishment for doing bad things.
If you believe there is no punishment in the afterlife, there goes one of the incentive structures for not committing sins in this life for hedonistic purposes. The decline in religious affiliation is not just a matter of “do you believe in God or not?” I don’t believe in the phrase “believe in God.” I don’t think anybody sits around and mulls about God other than philosophy majors. Even people who are religious don’t sit around thinking about God all the time.
They act in God. They live in God. They live based on certain godly principles, and then they enact those in their daily lives.
Many agnostics and atheists are operating from religious principles. They just don’t acknowledge it. If they believe there’s a moral right and wrong, that is a religious principle; it is not discernible from evolutionary biology. If they believe the universe is a place you can actually understand, that your brain reflects eternal truths in the universe, that’s a religious principle. You can’t get that out of evolutionary biology or deterministic biology. You just cannot.
So if you live in that world, you’re living in a religious world. If you acknowledge that, then you might form communities of interest around those values. That’s where churches come from. The decline of church is directly correlated to the rise in loneliness because church is where people used to get together. It still is for a huge number of people.
My family is not lonely because, not only do we have kinship connections, but my parents, my wife’s parents, and two of my sisters also live close. We have an incredibly close friendship group. We have a religious community with hundreds of families, all of whom are generally religiously like-minded; that allows for a certain commonality of interest. I have people for my kids to play with.
It gives you a social safety net. It makes you feel as though you’re involved. When you atomistically remove people from their church, which is the only place that has been durably proven to actually have social connection, then you end up with loneliness.
However, Democrats like that loneliness because church comes with strings.
But every community comes with strings.
Everybody likes to pretend community is just you and your friends being nonjudgmental with each other. But that’s not true. Even you and your friends have a judgmental set of values with regard to people who are not you and your friends. Every group requires a buy-in. Every group requires skin in the game.
What the Democratic Party and many members of the Left believe is, there should never be skin in the game. They believe if you require skin in the game to be part of the group, that’s an inherent imposition on you and your authentic identity. That’s going to break down into atomistic individualism pretty quickly, which breaks down into loneliness because now you are removed from the commonality of interest, the skin in the game, the sacrifice necessary to be part of a group.
And then you’re shocked when loneliness abounds? Yes, social media has exacerbated all of this, but one of the things I’ve noticed is that there are a ton of kids in the community where I live, and some of them have social media. But loneliness rates aren’t anything like what they are like in secular society, where the kids don’t associate with each other outside of school, where there isn’t a 25-hour period every week where kids go to synagogue or church together. And when I say there’s no substitute for church, I mean there is no substitute for church, synagogue, mosque. There isn’t.
But there’s been an attempt to create ersatz communities of interest. You see that sometimes in college groups, a country club, or a bowling league. It is not the same thing.
Secular humanism does not fill the gap because religious observance is more than simply the relationship between you and God. One of the things Judaism makes very clear is that there are commandments oriented between you and God. You can do them on a personal level. If I say a blessing over food, that is between me and God.
But there is also a question of me and my fellow man.
The relationship between me and my fellow man and my relationship with God are two separate commandments, but the idea is that God is involved even in the relations between men. If you’re talking about how you treat your fellow man, that has to exist within the context of God. There’s a third player. When you remove the third player, it turns out the relations between you and your fellow man tend to disintegrate.
This should not be a shock, but that’s exactly what the Democrats cannot allow because it might actually require a religious obligation — and that might undercut a lot of the arguments they like to make about value systems. So they are simply going to pretend it’s about the algorithm. It’s not about the best way to fight the algorithm, which is religious church attendance.
It’s amazing that this idea even has to be said.

A suicide bomber targeted police at a crowded mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan, Monday, killing at least 47 people and injuring more than 150 others.
Most of the people who died were police officers, The Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/pakistan-peshawar-mosque-bombing-e632e0afcf948bc0502f5dfbd19359c1">reported</a>, in what is the latest attack against law enforcement in the city by Islamist militants. Hospital officials <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/blast-mosque-pakistans-peshawar-70-injured-2023-01-30/">told</a> Reuters that many of the wounded were in critical condition.
A Pakistani Taliban commander, Sarbakaf Mohmand, reportedly took responsibility for the attack on Twitter, the AP reported. His group, officially known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), comprises Sunni and sectarian Islamist groups dedicated to overthrowing the Pakistani government and imposing Islamic rule, Reuters reported. The group is separate from the Afghan Taliban but remains a close ally of the terrorist group that seized power in Afghanistan following the Biden administration’s disastrous withdrawal from the region.
Mohmand said the attack was revenge for the killing of Abdul Wali, also known as Omar Khalid Khurasani, who was killed in Afghanistan in August 2022, the AP reported.
The attack occurred during noon prayers and was strong enough to cause a wall to collapse on top of people who were worshiping. It is unclear how the bomber was able to get into the building, which is located inside a fortified compound that includes the Sunni mosque as well as the headquarters for the provincial police force and a counter-terrorism department, Reuters reported.
&#8220;We&#8217;re getting that the terrorist was standing in the first row,&#8221; Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said, according to the outlet.
More than 300 worshipers were inside the mosque for noon prayers, with even more coming in, when the bomber detonated his explosives vest, the AP reported. Police told the outlet that rescuers worked quickly to remove debris to reach worshippers trapped under the rubble.
The latest attack was the city&#8217;s deadliest since March 2022, when Islamic State militants committed a suicide bombing at a Shi’ite Muslim mosque in Peshawar during a prayer service, killing at least 58 people and injuring nearly 200, Reuters reported.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif vowed “stern action” against the group behind the attack and traveled to Peshawar to visit those injured. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan also spoke out against what he referred to as a “terrorist suicide attack” on Twitter, the AP reported.
“My prayers &amp; condolences go to victims (sic) families,” Khan wrote. “It is imperative we improve our intelligence gathering &amp; properly equip our police forces to combat the growing threat of terrorism.”
Khan lost power last April when he received a no-confidence vote in parliament, leading to Sharif taking control of the government.

A mosque in the northern French town of Beauvais has been closed by authorities because of an imam’s radical sermons, which involved defending and celebrating“jihad” while also inciting hatred towards Christians, homosexuals, and Jews.
The mosque in the town north of France’s capital, Paris, will be closed for six months, the regional government told AFP on Tuesday.
“The move comes two weeks after Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said he had triggered the procedure to close the site because the imam there &#8216;is targeting Christians, homosexuals and Jews&#8217; in his sermons,” <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10349737/France-closes-mosque-imam-incited-hatred-Christians-gay-people-Jews.html">Daily Mail</a> reported. The minister said that such behavior was “unacceptable.”
Authorities also claimed that the sermons called jihadist fighters “heroes,” the <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-59791765">BBC</a> added.
Two weeks ago, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin started a process to close the Great Mosque of Beauvais, with authorities giving the mosque 10 days to respond.
“The mosque&#8217;s imam was a recent convert to Islam, Agence France-Presse quoted local newspaper Courrier Picard as saying. A lawyer for the association managing the mosque told the newspaper his remarks had been ‘taken out of context,’” the BBC explained. “The lawyer said that the imam, who was ‘speaking on a voluntary basis,’ had been suspended from his duties. But the interior ministry said the man, who was ‘presented as an occasional speaker but who, in reality, acts as a regular imam,’ had defended ‘a rigorous practice of Islam’ and ‘its superiority to the laws of the Republic.’”
This move follows Darmanin’s announcement last year that the French government would be cracking down on mosques with extremist links, adding that some mosques could be closed if found guilty of encouraging “separatism.”
According to the French Interior Ministry, 100 mosques and prayer halls have been investigated in the past few months. There are more than 2,620 mosques in France.
“The crackdown came after the October 2020 murder of teacher Samuel Paty who was targeted following an online campaign against him for having shown controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed published by the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo during a civics class,” <a href="https://www.france24.com/en/europe/20211228-france-closes-mosque-north-of-paris-after-unacceptable-preaching">France24</a> explained.
“On October 16, 2020, Samuel Paty, a history and geography teacher, was stabbed and beheaded near his school in the town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, near Paris. The perpetrator was 18-year-old Abdoullakh Anzorov, a Russian refugee from Chechnya who was killed by police soon after the murder,” the French outlet <a href="https://www.france24.com/en/france/20211015-the-violence-shook-me-profoundly-teachers-students-remember-samuel-paty-s-murder">reported</a> earlier this year. “Anzorov had no connection with Paty or the school. He travelled from his home in Normandy to kill the teacher after watching a video posted by a pupil’s father who was angry that Paty had shown students images of the prophet of Islam in a civics class. Paty was teaching the children about freedom of expression. He emphasized that they could choose not to look at the cartoons if they were offended.”

The terrorist reportedly said on a livestream of the massacre to &#8220;subscribe to PewDiePie.&#8221;

As reported by The Daily Wire on Friday, there was reportedly a second attack on a mosque that was stopped by an armed worshiper. &#8220;The terrorist attack left 49 dead and dozens injured with at least 30 of the deaths coming from the Masjid Al Noor mosque and at least 10 more deaths coming from the Linwood Masjid Mosque,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/44695/shooters-fled-second-mosque-attack-good-guy-gun-ryan-saavedra">reported</a> Ryan Saavedra. &#8220;The lower number of deaths at the Linwood Masjid Mosque may in part be attributable to a good guy with a gun stopping the shooting.&#8221;
&#8220;A second shooting happened at a mosque in the Linwood area of the city,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&amp;objectid=12213039">New Zealand Herald</a> reported. &#8220;One Friday prayer goer returned fire with a rifle or shotgun. &#8230; A well known Muslim local chased the shooters and fired two shots at them as they sped off.&#8221;

German authorities discovered &#8220;weapons of war&#8221; during a raid close to a radical mosque, yet another instance of the failure of gun control.
The stockpile was found by a SWAT team in Nordrhein-Westfalen, or North Rhine-Westphalia, inside &#8220;a cold room of a greengrocer,&#8221; according the <a href="http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/684623/Islamist-extremists-hide-huge-stockpile-of-weapons-near-German-mosque">UK Express</a>.
The raid was brought to light by Ismail Tipi, member of the Hessian parliament and of the Christian Democratic Union, who took the occasion to warn about radical Islam.
&#8220;According to my information, a weapons arsenal with war grade weapons was found in this search,&#8221; Tipi said. &#8220;The danger of fundamentalist Salafists who are ready to use violence arming themselves in Germany is very large. This secret raid finding this weapons cache makes this more than clear.&#8221;
Salafism, which is the extreme Sunni Islamic philosophy that aims &#8220;to define the new order according to seventh-century religious traditions rather than earthly realities,&#8221; according to <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/20/opinion/dont-fear-all-islamists-fear-salafis.html">The New York Times&#8216;s Robin Wright</a>, is the <a href="http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/8205.htm">ideology that guides ISIS</a>. There has been an increase from 7,000 Salafi supporters in 2014 to 8,900 today.

This is exactly what I have always feared. Politicians must speak clearly about this.&#8221;
According to the Library of Congress, &#8220;Germany has one of the most stringent gun control laws in the world,&#8221; via <a href="http://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/2016/06/29/europeanstyle-gun-control-didnt-stop-islamists-from-gathering-weapons-near-this-german-mosque-n2185564">Townhall</a>:

The country also has strict laws about how gun owners are supposed to store firearms to the point where they have to report their storage methods to the authorities and be subject to searches by the authorities at any time without a search warrant.
In other words, even the myriad of Germany&#8217;s burdensome gun laws didn&#8217;t prevent radical Islamists from obtaining weapons of war. Democratic politicians in America should take note.

On Wednesday, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump blasted President Obama for visiting a mosque affiliated with known terrorists.
&#8220;I don&#8217;t have much thought, I think he can go to lots of places. I don&#8217;t know, maybe he feels comfortable there,&#8221; Trump <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/gop-primaries/268155-trump-maybe-obama-feels-comfortable-in-a-mosque">stated</a> on Fox News&#8217; On the Record with Greta Van Susteren. &#8220;We have a lot of problems in this country, Greta. There are a lot of places he can go and he chose a mosque. I saw that just a little while ago. So that&#8217;s his decision, it&#8217;s fine.&#8221;

As usual, the mainstream media lost it. Trump’s comments about Obama feeling more “comfortable” at a mosque drew the ire of leftists from San Francisco to New York City, once again accusing the real estate mogul of &#8220;Islamophobia&#8221; and birtherism.
In an effort to demonize Trump, CNN actually attacked the Republican candidate for questioning Obama’s unwillingness to use the phrase “radical Islamic terror.”
“And during a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition in December, shortly after the San Bernardino terrorist attack, he questioned why Obama refused to use the term ‘radical Islamic terrorism,’&#8221; <a href="http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/gop-primaries/268155-trump-maybe-obama-feels-comfortable-in-a-mosque">lambasted</a> CNN, as if Trump were somehow out of line for stating the obvious.
The Left’s disconnect with reality and Islam-friendly sentiment has long fed a media narrative about intolerant Republicans oppressing feeble Muslim saints. Never mind the fact that Muslims run, govern, and control dozens of countries, most of which are petro-dictatorships and theocracies.
Ironically, Trump’s observation of Obama’s apparent comfort at a mosque angered the media just as much as his rhetoric about Muslim refugees. It’s as if the media celebrates Muslims when convenient, but cravenly backs away when President Obama is associated with anything remotely related to Islam.
Trump is right to note that President Obama is somewhat comfortable at Islamic religious institutions. That’s not to say that he’s a Muslim; not that it’s necessarily a bad thing to be Muslim, contrary to what the Left may imply. However, the president’s childhood education at a madrassa in Indonesia where the Koran was taught to susceptible young minds on daily basis certainly suggests that Obama does have some sort of familiarity, if not, nostalgia for Muslim religious and cultural sites.
“I was a little Jakarta street kid&#8230;My experience growing up in Indonesia or having family in small villages in Africa — I think it makes me much more mindful&#8230;” <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html">stated</a> Obama in an interview with The New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof. “I’ve witnessed it in much more direct ways than I think the average American has witnessed it.”
By Obama’s own testimony, his experiences are different than “the average American.” While the president’s remarks highlight an elitist sense of arrogance, they also may provide a reason why Obama has been unable to connect with or understand “the average American” concern about radical Islam and Muslim refugees.
The fact that President Obama <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html">considers</a> the Islamic call to prayer “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset” only further reinforces Donald Trump’s point. Obama may, in fact, feel quite comfortable at an Islamic mosque. Whether that’s good or bad is up to the American public to decide.

President Obama&#8217;s highly-controversial visit to an American <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/3019/obama-trolls-planned-visit-terrorism-linked-mosque-robert-kraychik">terror-linked</a> mosque on Wednesday become even more contentious when our fearless leader decided to opine about the lack of representation Muslims have on TV.
Apparently, our president missed the memo that TV representation is actually not the key issue America currently faces with regard to the Religion of Peace.
&#8220;They were pointing out that so often they felt invisible, and part of what we have to do is to lift up the contributions of the Muslim-American community not when there&#8217;s a problem, but all the time,&#8221; stated President Obama, referring to conversations he had with young Muslims.
&#8220;Our television shows should have some Muslim characters that are unrelated to national security, right?&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Because it&#8217;s not that hard to do.&#8221;
&#8220;There was a time when there were no black people on television. You can tell good stories while still representing the reality of our communities,&#8221; added the president.
This is not the first time the Obama Administration has bypassed real problems in order to deal with alleged rampant &#8220;Islamaphobia,&#8221; which the left pins on Republican Party members and their &#8220;<a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/3036/chelsea-clinton-so-what-if-my-dad-allegedly-raped-amanda-prestigiacomo">hate speech</a>.&#8221; Of course, hate crimes <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/3008/obama-world-anti-semitism-rise-may-have-something-ben-shapiro">against Jews</a> far exceed hate crimes against Muslims, but that&#8217;s another story.
While ISIS was busy becoming ISIS under President Obama&#8217;s watch, and growing into a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuvxgSYdMzk">caliphate the size of India</a>, Attorney General Loretta Lynch said that those who predicate &#8220;violent talk&#8221; about Muslims &#8220;will be prosecuted.&#8221;
Further, as Editor-in-chief Ben Shapiro <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/3107/obama-tells-muslims-they-have-right-be-free-ben-shapiro">noted</a> on Wednesday morning, President Obama made &#8220;the insane assertion that Muslims have the right to practice their religion without &#8216;divisive rhetoric from the campaign trail.&#8217;&#8221; Discussion about actual policy regarding terrorism on the agenda? Not so much.
President Obama has made it his mission to avoid the real threat of terrorism&#8212;especially from that &#8220;JV team&#8221; ISIS&#8212;and instead focuses on &#8220;vital&#8221; issues like the supposed lack of representation of Muslims on TV.

Obama Visits American Mosque—What He Complains About Will STUN You (Well, Maybe Not)

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has bestowed upon us the Christmas gift we really needed, but didn&#8217;t ask for &#8211; his moral divinity, in an exclusive <a href="http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2015/12/26/lets-open-our-hearts-justin-trudeaus-holiday-message-for-canadians.html">column</a> for that oh-so-beloved, objective newspaper; the Toronto Star. 
The column makes a few points that really shine light on the progressive, Left-wing mindset &#8211; and even parallel President Obama&#8217;s recent sentiments. Let&#8217;s dig through all the fluff and excess verbiage so we can get straight down to the lies.
Trudeau starts off with a nod to our brave men and women in uniform whose meritorious service to our country keeps evil at bay &#8211; keep in mind, this comes after Trudeau unilaterally <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/justin-trudeau-i-ll-end-isis-combat-mission-restore-relations-with-iran-1.3124949">halted</a> Canada&#8217;s military engagement with ISIS, and vowed to &#8220;restore&#8221; our relations with the <a href="http://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-report-finds-35-rise-in-global-terror-attacks-in-2014-1434720328">terrorist-sponsoring</a>, Islamo-Nazi regime of Iran.
Moving on &#8211; if you thought you&#8217;d get through Trudeau&#8217;s article without hearing about the vaunted Muslim Syrian refugees, think again. Trudeau states: &#8220;I see it [compassion and generosity of spirit] in the thousands of Canadians who have offered to sponsor families fleeing war in Syria and in other parts of the world.&#8221;
Justin Trudeau and his neighbors will be sponsoring &#8211; how many refugees? This is a point that really highlights the left-wing Liberal ideology. To Trudeau and his cohort of Leftist elites, it doesn&#8217;t matter how Canadians will be affected as a result of his policies. What really matters to them is feeling good.
Moving on, Justin Trudeau makes a point that really <a href="http://byzvest.com/2015/12/09/1437/">echoes</a> Barack Obama. Atop his moral high-horse he lectures us on our innate racism, stating: &#8220;I know that there have been times in the past year that have challenged our basic belief in ourselves as kind, compassionate, accepting people. We&#8217;ve seen mosques vandalized and individuals threatened because of their religious beliefs.&#8221;
Now, has a mosque been vandalized in Canada? Yes, and it has been collectively condemned by all decent individuals. Butthe question at hand is, why would Trudeau single out this one case for a specific mention in his piece? After all, police statistics <a href="http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/85-002-x/2015001/article/14191-eng.htm#a17">show</a> that anti-Muslim hate crimes aren&#8217;t on the rise at all. In fact, they&#8217;re on a low, and make up a tiny fraction of hate crimes in the country.
In fact, according to police statistics, there were almost three times as many hate crimes against Jews than Muslims, despite the fact that Canada has almost three times as many Muslims as Jews.
Out of a total Muslim population of 1,053,945 &#8211; there <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Canada">were</a> 65 incidents. That&#8217;s 0.0062%.
Over in the Jewish community, there have been a total of 181 <a href="https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Judaism/jewpop.html">hate crimes</a> out of a population of 385,300. That&#8217;s 0.047%
That&#8217;s a 658.06% increase from Muslim to Jewish hate crimes. Yet, Trudeau doesn&#8217;t even mention attacks on Jewish Canadians?
This isn&#8217;t the first time we&#8217;ve seen this shtick from the Left. Obama did the exact <a href="http://byzvest.com/2015/12/09/1437/">same thing</a> in his address to the nation earlier this month.
What&#8217;s important to understand here is that facts don&#8217;t matter to folks on the Left. Reality doesn&#8217;t matter; narrative does.

Minorities are oppressed; the rest of us are racists. The only solution is bigger government to undo this great injustice through redistribution. This is the foundation on which Leftists like Obama and Trudeau construct their shrine to big government. 

Trudeau concludes with an addendum to his &#8220;middle class economics,&#8221; another page from Obama&#8217;s <a href="http://www.economist.com/news/united-states/21640351-barack-obama-tries-set-tone-2016-middle-class-economics">book</a> . A more honest and earnest approach would have been for Trudeau to state what he&#8217;s actually doing to our economy. That is to say, his policies, not his intentions, as good as he may perceive them to be. Trudeau&#8217;s plan to purposely run 10-billion-dollar deficits (I guarantee you, it will <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/morneau-fiscal-update-1.3327571">exceed</a> 10 billion) is the apex of amorality. It&#8217;s a plan that knowingly mortgages our future and our children&#8217;s future for the temporary convenience of the present.

Kuko officiated a marriage reception for <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1556/heres-everything-we-know-about-san-bernardino-ben-shapiro">Syed Farook</a> and Tashfeen Malik, the Islamic terrorist couple who carried out the mass murder attack in San Bernardino.
Despite proclaiming a desire of &#8220;trying to find answers&#8221; to the causes of Farook&#8217;s and Malik&#8217;s actions, Kuko made no acknowledgement of the overlap between Islamic terrorism, Islam, and Muslims.
Heralding what he framed as the success of Muslim communities&#8217; high standard for their children, Kuko extolled, &#8220;That&#8217;s why our youths are in the schools, and not in jails.&#8221;
An acquaintance of Farook&#8217;s who used to encounter him during prayers at the Islamic Center of Riverside&#8217;s mosque praised last night&#8217;s speech from President Barack Obama. Nazaam Ali said, &#8220;I would like to commend the President of the United States for taking that stance. It really shows, you know, the balanced approach &#8211; compared to what other people are taking in and trying to make this, divide the nation, and say that, you know, all Muslims are bad.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtgUH_DA-eM">YouTube video</a> from 2011 shows what appears to be Kuko&#8217;s office at the Islamic Center in Riverside with a black Islamist flag &#8211; upon which is written the Islamic creed known as the Shahada &#8211; adorning a wall.

<a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1559/san-bernardino-killers-brother-law-cair-presser-no-robert-kraychik">Hussam Ayloush</a>, head of CAIR&#8217;s operations in the Greater Los Angeles Area, has posted images to the Islamic Center of Riverside&#8217;s <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Masjid-of-Riverside/182907355110457">unofficial Facebook page</a> depicting fundraising and information operations held on its premises. Ayloush recently <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/1571/no-not-everybody-crazy-hank-berrien">speculated</a> that mental illness contributed to the Islamic terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, as well as <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/12/04/cair-director-u-s-partially-blame-san-bernardino-jihad/">placing partial blame</a> on American foreign policy.

CAIR-Affiliated Former Imam of Syed Farook: Islamic Terrorism is ‘Alien to Islam’

Real estate mogul Donald Trump advocated for investigating mosques and possibly even shutting them down if they have ties to Islamic terrorism. He is correct to advocate for this.
On MSNBC&#8217;s Morning Joe, Trump was <a href="http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/11/16/donald-trump-i-would-strongly-consider-shutting-down-mosques-if-necessary/">asked</a> what he would do to protect United States citizens. He replied:
<blockquote>
&#8220;Well, you&#8217;re going to have to watch and study the mosques because a lot of talk is going on at the mosques. And from what I heard in the old days, meaning a while ago, we had great surveillance going on in and around mosques in New York City, and I understand our mayor totally cut that out. He totally cut it out. I don&#8217;t know if you&#8217;ve brought that up and I&#8217;m not sure it&#8217;s a fact. But I heard that under the old regime, we had tremendous surveillance going on in and around the mosques of New York City. And that&#8217;s been totally cut out.&#8221;

Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough asked Trump if he would consider shutting down mosques as president since that&#8217;s what the French are discussing after Friday&#8217;s horrific terrorist attacks.
Trump responded:

&#8220;Well, I would hate to do it but it&#8217;s something that you&#8217;re going to have to strongly consider because some of the ideas and some of the hatred, the absolute hatred is coming from these areas. And, you know, New York City as an example. We had a group of people from what I understand that really knew what they were doing, that were really studying the situation and they&#8217;re not doing that anymore. Under the new mayor they are not doing that anymore and I think that&#8217;s a mistake. It&#8217;s something that many people, not me, it&#8217;s something that many people are considering and many people are going to do.&#8221;

MSNBC&#8217;s Chris Jansing and Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski were concerned that doing so would create &#8220;backlash&#8221; and &#8220;hatred.&#8221; 
&#8220;There is already hatred. The hatred is incredible. It&#8217;s embedded,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Hatred is beyond belief. The hatred is greater than anybody understands. And it&#8217;s already there. It not like, what, do you think they think we&#8217;re great people? It&#8217;s already there. It&#8217;s a very, very sad situation. And I know so many people, Muslims, who are such great people, and they are being so badly tarnished by what&#8217;s happening now. It&#8217;s a shame.&#8221;

Trump&#8217;s answer on whether or not he would shut down mosques with ties to Islamic terrorism is a little muddled, as he wouldn&#8217;t commit to the idea but said it&#8217;s something he would strongly consider. But he was completely accurate that mosques should be investigated. One of the reasons that some Muslims become radicalized is because they are indoctrinated by imams who use religious doctrine to promote Islamic terrorism. Here is a list of some of the mosques that have ties to terrorist attacks.
Islamic Society of Boston
The Boston marathon bombers <a href="http://nypost.com/2014/09/07/jihadi-behind-beheading-videos-linked-to-notorious-us-mosque/">attended</a> a mosque in Cambridge, Mass. called the Islamic Society of Boston. Some of the Islamists who worshipped at that mosque included:

<li>Abdurahman Alamoudi, the mosque&#8217;s founder and first president, who in 2004 was sentenced to 23 years in prison for plotting terrorism. In 2005, the Treasury Department issued a statement saying Alamoudi raised money for al Qaeda in the US.</li>
<li>Aafia Siddiqui, an MIT scientist-turned-al Qaeda agent, who in 2010 was sentenced to 86 years in prison for planning a New York chemical attack. Known as &#8220;Lady al Qaeda,&#8221; she is related to 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed. ISIS has tried to trade her release for journalist hostages.</li>
<li>Tarek Mehanna, who in 2012 got 17 years in prison for conspiring to use automatic weapons to murder shoppers in a suburban Boston mall.</li>
<li>Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a mosque trustee and Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader banned from the US after issuing a fatwa that called for the killing of US soldiers.</li>
<li>Jamal Badawi, another former trustee who in 2007 was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a plan to funnel more than $12 million to Palestinian suicide bombers.</li>
</ul>

That is a rather lengthy list of Islamists. And the reason is because the Islamic Society, despite defending itself as &#8220;moderate,&#8221; features many speakers that advocate for jihad as well as texts of Islamists like Osama bin Laden that also advocate for jihad. The mosque also vigorously defends its worshippers that commit acts of terrorism, even when the evidence is clear they committed the horrific acts.
Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga
The shooting that took place at a military recruiting center and a Navy operations support center in Chattanooga, T.N. was committed by a gunman identified as Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, who <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/17/us/chattanooga-shooting-suspect-was-ordinary-boy-neighbors-recall.html?_r=0">constantly talked</a> about submitting to Allah, <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/20/us/tennessee-naval-reserve-shooting/">sent</a> a text before the attack quoting the Islamic verse, &#8220;Whoever shows enmity to a friend of mine, then I have declared war against him&#8221; and had many <a href="http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/07/17/the-cryptic-blog-posts-chattanooga-shooter-reportedly-published-about-islam-and-muslim-leaders-who-fought-jihad-for-the-sake-of-allah-just-three-days-before-the-rampage/">cryptic blog posts</a> citing Islamic verses that basically announced his intentions. Two or three months before the attack, Abdulazeez began <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/17/us/chattanooga-shooting-suspect-was-ordinary-boy-neighbors-recall.html?_r=0">regularly attending</a> a mosque called the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga. Federal investigators have dismissed the mosque as being a source of radicalization, but they seem to be ignoring evidence to the contrary.
According to the <a href="http://nypost.com/2015/07/26/the-us-mosque-link-between-islamic-attacks-that-authorities-are-ignoring/">New York Post</a>, the Islamic Society of Society of Greater Chattanooga has ties to the same radical mosque that the Boston bomber attended, as they both have the same trustee: the North American Islamic Trust. The NAIT was un-indicted co-conspirator in the U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation case, where it was discovered that the NAIT funds Hamas and has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, the mother ship of Islamic terrorist organizations. When Islamic Society leaders raised money to build a new mosque, they appealed to Chattanooga Muslims by citing Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leaders like al-Qaradawi.
These are certainly ties worth investigating, which begs the question as to why federal investigators won&#8217;t do so.
Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center
Located in Falls Church, Va., the <a href="http://www.nationalreview.com/article/243635/more-moderate-muslims-andrew-c-mccarthy">Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center</a> has been a hotbed for imams spewing Islamist propaganda. Among the most notable was Anwar al-Awlaki, the al-Qaeda terrorist who was blown up by a drone in 2011. Al-Awlaki provided aid to two of the 9/11 hijackers, inspired the Christmas Day &#8220;underwear&#8221; bomber and kept in close correspondences with Major Nidal Hassan, who murdered 13 soldiers in Fort Hood while screaming, &#8220;Allahu Akbar!&#8221;
Here are some other Muslims who have been imam at Dar al-Hijrah:
<ul>
<li>Johair Abdul-Malik, who once said, &#8220;You can blow up bridges, but you cannot kill people who are innocent on their way to work. You can blow up power supplies . . . the water supply, you can do all forms of sabotage and let the world know that we are doing it like this because they have a respect for the lives of innocent people&#8221; and called for Islam to be &#8220;the dominant way of life&#8221; in America.</li>
<li>Mohammed al-Hanooti, who frequently hosted Omar Abdel Rahman, more commonly known as the &#8220;Blind Sheikh&#8221; who orchestrated the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. Al-Hanooti also raised money for Hamas.</li>
<li>Mohammed Adam El-Sheikh, a Muslim Brotherhood member who was the Baltimore regional director of the Islamic American Relief Agency, an organization directly funded al-Qaeda.</li>
</ul>

This is a very disturbing trend of radicals coming from this mosque. Why aren&#8217;t there any investigations into this mosque?
Islamic Community Center of Phoenix
The Islamic Community Center of Phoenix has been the target of FBI investigations for years, and they have fully cooperated. Yet, they still seem to <a href="http://www.clarionproject.org/news/garland-shooters-attended-same-arizona-mosque">produce Islamic terrorists.</a> Earlier in 2015, there was a shooting in Garland, Tx. at a Draw Mohammed cartoon event, and the two shooters were regular worshippers at the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix. In addition, another attendee, Hasan Abu Jihaad, pled guilty in 2008 for being in contact with a jihadist website based in London.
There is clearly a problem of mosques radicalizing its members into becoming Islamic terrorists. That&#8217;s why Trump is right to call for investigating them.
