A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/transgender">transgender</a>-identifying man has been crowned Model of the Year at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/united-kingdom">British Fashion Awards</a> in London, beating out five women on the shortlist for the title.
Alex Cosani, 21, won the title at the ceremony on Monday night. Previous Model of the Year winners include supermodels Kate Moss, Kaia Gerber, Naomi Campbell, Bella Hadid, and Cara Delevingne.
Cosani’s acceptance <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/transgender-woman-wins-model-of-the-year-thanks-trans-models-that-came-before-her_n_67507644e4b033802ee4684c">speech</a> included shoutouts to other model inspirations, “specifically the black trans women who fought for the space.”
“You fought for this space that allowed me to flourish today, and I’m eternally grateful for that,” Consani said. 
The model continued, saying, “Now more than ever it’s an important conversation to be had, about how to support and uplift one another in this industry – especially those who have been made to feel insignificant. Change is more than possible. It’s needed. And this is a big step in the right direction.”
The British Fashion Council (BFC) said the award “recognizes the global impact of a model who over the last 12 months has dominated the industry. With an influence that transcends the catwalk, the Model of The Year has made an outstanding contribution to the industry, garnering numerous editorial and advertising campaigns throughout the year.”

Fellow contestant Anok Yai expressed her frustration at losing to Cosani, though she didn’t blame the winner in her remarks. 
&#8220;Alex, I love you and I’m so proud of you. British Fashion Council, thank you but I don’t want it anymore,&#8221; Yai <a href="https://x.com/Anok_Yai/status/1863846694498029947b">shared</a> on X.
She wrote in a follow up, &#8220;If you have seen the effort that I’ve seen Alex put in; you would understand how proud I am of her. But Alex can be proud and I can be exhausted at the same time. It doesn’t take away how much love we have for each other.&#8221;

A model who once earned the title of Italy&#8217;s &#8220;most beautiful man&#8221; said that he&#8217;s leaving the modeling world behind because he&#8217;s been called to a higher power: God.
In a video posted on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cz_Jd9vMJ4P/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>, Edoardo Santini, told his thousands of followers that &#8220;at 21 years of age, I find myself on the path toward becoming a priest, God willing,&#8221; <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/beautiful-man-gives-fame-modeling-career-god-discover" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> reported.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve decided to give up modeling work, acting and dance, but I won&#8217;t abandon my passions, I&#8217;ll just live them differently,&#8221; he added, noting that he will be now &#8220;offering&#8221; his passions &#8220;to God.&#8221;

Santini wrote about how he had &#8220;discovered the real Church, which I thought was dead,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/italy-most-beautiful-man-priest-catholic-church-edoardo-santini-s0lk95vvl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Times UK</a> noted.
&#8220;They have given me the strength to investigate this question that I&#8217;ve taken with me from childhood but various fears stopped me from studying it at a deeper level,&#8221; the model said, the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12822619/Italys-handsome-man-quits-modelling-priest.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a> noted. &#8220;Last year, I took the first step.&#8221;
He revealed that a year ago he had gone to live with two priests, calling it &#8220;the most beautiful experience of my life.&#8221;
&#8220;Obviously, some people talk about me behind my back, some people have no problem telling me I have let them down, both inside and outside my family, but others are supporting me, believers and non-believers,&#8221; Santini shared.
&#8220;Will I become a priest? I don’t know, I am here to discover,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But I have taken the step that terrorized me, that stopped me finally being myself. I am ready to say I made a mistake.&#8221;
Santini has entered Seminary and this week started the work studying theology and serving two parishes, Fox News noted. He&#8217;s also changed his profile description on social media to read, &#8220;I’m a Christian, priest wannabe,&#8221; the outlet noted.
The news comes as the Italian model, whose career really kicked off at age 17, recently started using his social media platform to ask questions of faith, rather than to promote his career and projects.

The retired university associate dean from California told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/sports-illustrated-model-57-becomes-rookie-2024-issue-embrace-gray" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> she was shocked to hear the news, adding that her &#8220;heart just started pounding&#8221; and she got tears in her eyes.

Cash said her husband encouraged her to enter the competition because it was something she really wanted to do. And now the advice she shares with other aging fifty-somethings nervous about following their dreams: &#8220;There are always going to be critics, no matter what you do…&#8221;

Two female models have been reportedly found dead in their luxury apartments in downtown Los Angeles within the last week, sparking an investigation from authorities who have not confirmed if any link exists between the two deaths.
Authorities discovered Maleesa Mooney, 31, an aspiring model and real estate agent, dead in her apartment on September 12, leaving family members grieving and authorities searching for a suspect.
“When a week went by, we just knew something was off,” Bailey Babb, Mooney’s cousin, <a href="https://ktla.com/news/local-news/family-seeking-answers-after-model-was-murdered-in-dtla/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> KTLA. “Her messages weren’t delivering, and we knew something was up because we all have a special relationship with Maleesa.”
Authorities have reportedly launched a murder investigation into Mooney&#8217;s death.
According to a <a href="https://www.lapdonline.org/newsroom/detectives-seek-information-on-murdered-los-angeles-woman-nr23674jc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news release</a> from the LAPD, Mooney’s exact cause of death remains unknown pending results from a post-mortem examination conducted by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Police authorities have asked the public for assistance in identifying the person or people responsible for her death.
Two days earlier, authorities found 32-year-old model Nichole Coats, whose death prompted members of her family to tell local media they believe she was murdered.
“I couldn’t recognize her,” May Stevens, aunt, said, <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2023-09-16/two-models-found-dead-in-downtown-la-apartments-in-past-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the Los Angeles Times. “I believe it was murder, I really do. One of her legs was up in the air in a kicking position. That’s not somebody who just laid in their bed and died.”
Coats’ death is not being investigated as a homicide, according to the LAPD and the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
On Saturday, LAPD Officer Drake Madison said that he has “no idea” about the circumstances of Coats’ death and that “we had no information of any type of homicide or anything. We couldn’t find anything on that. … It could be anything.”
Lt. Ricardo Lopez of the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner said it is under “active investigation,” adding, “The cause of death is deferred, so we don’t have any cause of death to give you at this time. … That’s subject to change, but at this time, no.”
Coates&#8217; cousin, Sheniya Mason, <a href="https://abc7.com/model-death-downtown-los-angeles-investigation-nichole-coats/13793806/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> ABC7 she wants to know if there is a correlation between the deaths of the two females.
&#8220;We just want to know what happened &#8230; It just doesn&#8217;t seem right &#8230; Is there a correlation between these two females?&#8221; she said. &#8220;Is there a correlation? They were both almost in the same area &#8230; we need to make sure that this isn&#8217;t something else because it just didn&#8217;t seem right.&#8221;

Legendary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/model">supermodel</a> Cindy Crawford said her dad was initially skeptical of the modeling industry, thinking it was a form of “prostitution.”
The 57-year-old discussed her early days working in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">industry</a> as part of the new four-part limited docu-series, “The Super Models.” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Crawford</a> discussed being discovered in a small town in Illinois and eventually becoming an international superstar.
&#8220;I never even thought about modeling,&#8221; said Crawford, per a preview clip shared with <a href="https://people.com/apple-tv-unveils-new-clip-featuring-cindy-crawford-for-upcoming-docuseries-the-super-models-7969606">People</a>. 
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t even know it was a real job. I didn&#8217;t know how I would get from DeKalb, Illinois, to a magazine,&#8221; Crawford continued. &#8220;My dad really didn&#8217;t understand that modeling was a real career. He thought modeling was like another name for prostitution. So they came with me to my very first modeling appointment.&#8221;
“The Super Models” will premiere September 20 on Apple TV+ and also focus on the histories of Crawford’s famous coworkers Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Linda Evangelista.

“There was a sisterhood there, defined by caring and loyalty: When one is down you pick the other one up,” Campbell said of their relationship.
“It&#8217;s just luck and grace, honestly. I felt like my career took off pretty quickly, so maybe there were more eyes on me and they couldn&#8217;t get away with stuff,” Turlington said of avoiding harmful situations. “But I don&#8217;t even think it was that: Predatory people are predatory people.”
“You&#8217;d get invited to a party on someone&#8217;s yacht and I&#8217;d think, &#8216;What do you even wear on a yacht? What fork do you use?&#8217; So I would just not go,” Crawford said. “Yes, I probably missed out on some fabulous opportunities but probably avoided some less-than-fabulous opportunities as well.”

Hart joined &#8220;Boy Meets World&#8221; alumni Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle on Monday&#8217;s episode of &#8220;Pod Meets World&#8221; — and she and Friedle recounted a very short relationship when they were both young teens.
Friedle, who played oldest brother Eric Matthews on the popular ABC sitcom, brought it up around the 17:30 mark, saying, &#8220;I was with you for, like, your 14th birthday or 15th. Remember we went to some place where it [had] those big tanks you could drive or shoot the tennis balls at?&#8221;
&#8220;Oh my gosh!&#8221; the &#8220;Clarissa Explains It All&#8221; star exclaimed. &#8220;Probably the only time I ever had fun in Orlando, I never really got to do anything.&#8221;
&#8220;Yeah, and so we went out for that, and we were, like, making googly eyes at each other. And by the end of the night, we were &#8216;dating,'&#8221; Friedle joked.
Hart said that after that day, the pair had exchanged numbers and a few phone calls &#8220;on a landline,&#8221; but that not much else had ever come of it.
&#8220;It was a whirlwind romance,&#8221; Friedle agreed — but neither could remember if they had ever even kissed.

In the photo, Hart said it was obvious she&#8217;d been &#8220;crying all evening&#8221; after deciding to break up with her boyfriend.
Things went from bad to worse when, after the photo was taken, she jumped in a limo to film a scene for &#8220;Scary Movie&#8221; — only to learn en route that she had been fired from the movie. She turned back and headed to her premiere and an afterparty at Planet Hollywood.
But when she arrived at the party, her lawyer informed her that she&#8217;d been dropped from &#8220;Sabrina&#8221; — because of a photo shoot she&#8217;d done for Maxim.
&#8220;My lawyer shows up and goes, &#8216;You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?&#8217; I&#8217;m like: &#8216;Yes, I did.&#8217; They&#8217;re like, &#8216;Well, you&#8217;re being sued and fired from your show, so don&#8217;t talk to the press, don&#8217;t do anything,'&#8221; she recalled.
As it turned out, the photos were not the problem — rather, Archie Comics took issue with a blurb teasing her appearance in the magazine: &#8220;Sabrina, Your Favorite Witch Without a Stitch.&#8221;
But because she didn&#8217;t actually appear nude in the photos and had been promoting her movie rather than her television show — not to mention the fact that she had no control over what Maxim chose to print on the cover — after a few weeks she was eventually able to iron out the situation and return to her role.
&#8220;The silver lining here is that for weeks, the top news [was] ‘Can Melissa be sexy’?’ ‘Why is she being fired from her TV show?’ and all this drama. But it made for &#8216;Drive Me Crazy&#8217; to come out and be a huge success. It was insane,&#8221; she said.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback then was reportedly spotted dropping off Shayk back at her hotel the next day. Later that same day, Brady reportedly returned to the hotel where he picked up the Victoria&#8217;s Secret model and the two went back to his place.
The outlet was the first to report that Shayk seemed eager to spend time with the seven-time Super Bowl-winning QB when the two ended up attending billionaire art dealer Joe Nahmad&#8217;s wedding to Madison Headrick last month.
Sources said Shayk reportedly &#8220;scarcely let him out of her sight throughout the weekend-long festivities.&#8221;
&#8220;She followed him around all weekend,&#8221; an insider said. &#8220;She was throwing herself at him.&#8221;
At the time, the model&#8217;s manager hit back at the report calling it &#8220;totally fictional.&#8221;

A Bridal magazine out of India has featured a hairy male model wearing a dress on the latest digital cover of Brides Today, an English-language Indian publication.
&#8220;Non-binary <a href="https://caravanmagazine.in/vantage/interview-alok-vaid-menon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transfeminine</a>&#8221; activist model Alok Vaid-Menon, who goes by ALOK, appeared on one cover decked out in Indian jewels, a teal outfit, and a skirt. In a second, the model wears makeup, an Indian dress with a bra-like blue top and matching skirt, and lots of jewels. Levi’s announced it will start using AI-generated fashion models in an effort to increase &#8220;diversity&#8221; for online shoppers of the denim company&#8217;s clothing.
The company recently shared news of its partnership with Lalaland.ai, a digital fashion studio that creates what it calls artificial intelligence to make realistic models, <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2023/3/27/23658385/levis-ai-generated-clothing-model-diversity-denim" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Verge</a> reported.
Amy Gershkoff Bolles, global head of digital and emerging technology strategy at Levi Strauss &amp; Co said the models will not replace human models and will instead, &#8220;supplement&#8221; them to create a more &#8220;personal&#8221; online shopping experience.

&#8220;While AI will likely never fully replace human models for us, we are excited for the potential capabilities this may afford us for the consumer experience,&#8221; Bolles said.
The company also said in a press release that it doesn’t see the AI-generated clothing models as a &#8220;sole solution&#8221; to promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity.
By the iconic denim company using the AI technology, it could be a way for shoppers to make the models customizable, allowing them to change the ages, body types, skin tones and more for shoppers who want to see the clothing on bodies that resemble their own, the outlet noted.
&#8220;This AI technology can potentially assist us by supplementing models and unlocking a future where we can enable customers to see our products on more models that look like themselves, creating a more personal and inclusive shopping experience,&#8221; the company&#8217;s announcement said, <a href="https://www.thecut.com/2023/03/levis-ai-models-diversity.html?utm_source=tw&amp;utm_medium=s1&amp;utm_campaign=nym" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Cut</a> noted.
Levi Strauss &amp; Co., over the last few years, has had large layoffs to deal with cutting costs to save money, the outlet noted. In 2020, 700 roles were cut from the company, followed by a layoff of some 800 additional workers last year.
The cuts have allowed the company to save some $100 million per year, the New York Magazine <a href="https://www.thecut.com/2023/03/levis-ai-models-diversity.html?utm_source=tw&amp;utm_medium=s1&amp;utm_campaign=nym" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
