Singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/miley-cyrus">Miley Cyrus</a> said she’s not sure she ever wants to become a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/motherhood">mom</a> but mentioned that she considers her fans to be stand-ins for children anyway.
The 31-year-old celebrity made the remarks during a recent <a href="https://www.wmagazine.com/culture/miley-cyrus-cover-interview-2024">interview</a> with W Magazine released this week. 
“I love being an adult,” Cyrus told the outlet. “I have a rule that I don’t look up or don’t look down at anyone. I just look, which allows me the clarity to see the world for what it really is and people for who they really are.”
She added, “I look at myself almost every day in the mirror and I say, ‘I am a woman.’ I’m 31 now, and I still don’t know if I want kids or not. I feel like my fans kind of are my kids in some way. I’ve heard Dolly [Parton] say that too, because she didn’t have kids.”
The “Flowers” singer mentioned at another point in the conversation how other artists frequently refer to themselves as “mother” in relation to their fans and that the fans say the same. 
“The word ‘mother’ is the most all-encompassing word,” she said. “The mother can be [drag queen] RuPaul; the mother can be Beyoncé. Our fans call us ‘mother.’”
Cyrus said, “With the word ‘mother,’ we can talk about the planet, we can talk about agriculture, we can talk about medicine, we can talk about injustices, reproductive care.”

This isn’t the first time the recording artist brought up her feelings about motherhood. In 2019, she <a href="https://www.elle.com/culture/music/a28280119/miley-cyrus-elle-interview/">told</a> Elle that she wasn’t happy with how women were pressured to have kids. 
&#8220;We&#8217;re expected to keep the planet populated. And when that isn&#8217;t a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgment and anger that they try to make and change laws to force it upon you — even if you become pregnant in a violent situation,&#8221; Cyrus said. &#8220;If you don&#8217;t want children, people feel sorry for you, like you&#8217;re a cold, heartless b*tch who&#8217;s not capable of love.&#8221;
She continued, &#8220;We&#8217;ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it&#8217;s exhausted. It can&#8217;t produce. We&#8217;re getting handed a piece-of-shit planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child,” she said. 
&#8220;Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I&#8217;m not bringing in another person to deal with that.&#8221;

From 2015 to 2016, JoJo Siwa was on the show “Dance Moms” alongside her mother, Jessalynn Siwa. While she may not have been the best dancer, viewers always wanted to see more of her on screen. She has a big, bubbly personality and was always genuinely fun to watch. After two seasons on the show, she started a YouTube channel called “It’s JoJo Siwa,” which was a kids’ show—and kids loved her. It positively exploded. She gained a huge following and even created music for kids thereafter.
In January 2020, Siwa came out as a lesbian. Now, she is back in the news with a new podcast — “JoJo Siwa Now” — and a big announcement: She wants kids.

There are, obviously, lesbians who grow up to marry women. The women I know who have chosen this route are often women who have been abused by men in some way, be it emotional or physical. They almost experience a repulsion of men for the rest of their lives. Ellen DeGeneres has talked about the sexual abuse she experienced as a child, and she has been married to a woman for many years now.
But Siwa’s story? I have seen this story and so have you: Young girls become famous and want to break away from the child-like persona that made them famous — and they go through “a phase.” Call it a coming-of-age phase, per se. These girls are the Cyndi-Lauper-type girls who “just want to have fun.” They make out with other girls at a high school or college party, but they are not really lesbians. They grow up and out of that phase. They go on to marry a man and have children.

Take, for instance, Demi Lovato, who announced she was a lesbian, then non-binary, then back to being a woman. She is now an engaged woman. Miley Cyrus was also a temporary lesbian. She said she came out to her mom when she was younger, then she came out as a lesbian after her marriage failed with Liam. Now, she is dating a man again, a drummer who came with her to the Grammys.

 And, of course, who could forget Lindsey Lohan? She was dating Samantha Ronson for a while, another child actress who became a lesbian. But, Lohan grew up, got married, and just had a child.

So why does any of this matter? It matters because it impacts our children and because it’s relevant to the next generation. This type of behavior becomes dangerous. These women are famous and because their phase is platformed, it is treated as something more than just a phase.
JoJo Siwa has recently discussed on her podcast what coming out to her mother was like. She says she was 12-years-old. That’s right: 12-years-old. Do we assign meaning to anything that a 12-year-old says? Girls’ emotions are all over the place around that age when they are going through puberty; that is why people often say girls are much more difficult than boys when they are teenagers. Factually, a 12-year-old’s brain simply is not developed. In fact, it’s not developed until age 25.
Then, in regards to the conversation between Siwa and her mom, Siwa says, “My mom actually made my coming out to her super easy.” And when “everyone kinda caught a vibe” between her and a girl who ended up becoming her first girlfriend, her mom asked her, “Do you like her as a friend or as more than a friend?” All the while, Siwa has lots of children’s eyes watching her every move, hanging on her every word. They’re the kids who fell in love with her on YouTube, so they’re still listening to her while she makes her lesbian journey sound fun and easy.
Yet many lesbians’ journeys have been far from fun and easy. The highest domestic violence statistics exist amongst the lesbian community, with 43.8% of lesbian women and 61.1% of bisexual women having experienced rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner. Those are facts, and they are facts that JoJo Siwa is not considering while she goes through what I perceive to plausibly be a phase in her life.

Plus, biologically speaking, lesbians cannot naturally have children. But on her podcast, she says she is looking for someone who is ready to have kids because she is “very near ready.” Siwa says, “That is something that I care very, very much about.” Now, I love that she is talking about wanting to have children and making that aspirational because that is actually not common in Hollywood whatsoever. However, she is clearly not considering the implications of being a lesbian and having children. To have children, she would have to go through IVF, a tremendously expensive, emotional, and painful process. The reality of IVF is not flippant; it is severe. Further, it is not guaranteed.
JoJo Siwa may just be wanting to separate herself from the big bow phase, but the lesbian phase may be one she looks back on with regret. Perhaps she will look to some of the women who have lived lives similar to hers to learn from where they are now because her current decisions are in the public consciousness. She is influencing the children who are following her by glamorizing these decisions, even if unintentionally so.

The 2024 Grammy Awards saw a huge bump in viewership for the first time since the COVID pandemic struck four years earlier.
CBS scored 17 million viewers in final same-day ratings for Sunday&#8217;s broadcast of the 66th annual awards show, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/grammys-tv-ratings-sunday-feb-4-2024-1235816395/">according</a> to The Hollywood Reporter. It was an increase of 36% over the number of viewers who tuned in to watch the biggest night in music in 2023 when the show attracted 12.55 million viewers.
The awards show was also up by 40% in the coveted 18-49 age demographic compared to last year, the outlet noted.
The numbers on CBS don&#8217;t include those who streamed the show on Paramount+, with live viewership up 173% over last year, the network noted in a <a href="https://www.paramountpressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/shows/the-66th-annual-grammy-awards/releases/?view=109207-the-66th-annual-grammy-awards-up-34-from-last-year-averaging-169-million-viewers-its-largest-audience-since-2020">press release</a>.

The jump in Grammy Awards viewership followed that of the 2024 Golden Globes, which also experienced its first spike in the ratings game since 2020, with a 50% increase over last year.

Miley Cyrus had a huge night at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday, winning not just her first ever Grammy — for her song &#8220;Flowers&#8221; — but a second one as well.
During the 66th annual award ceremony, the 31-year-old <a href="https://x.com/PageSix/status/1754525650893799542?s=20">singer/actress</a> took the stage after winning the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit &#8220;Flowers.&#8221; 
Near the end of the show, Cyrus accepted her second Grammy when she won Record of the Year for &#8220;Flowers,&#8221; beating out the likes of Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and SZA, the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/grammys-2024-winners-list-1235809522/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hollywood Reporter</a> noted.

On August 30, Trace, 34, posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) about girls who have an OnlyFans account and cannot find meaningful relationships. He said women need to know the risks of selling their bodies and emphasized that real happiness would come with family, children, and a good husband.
“There [are] so many girls that do OnlyFans that have lost their chance of ever settling down with a good guy with morals,” he wrote in the post. “They will try and call those men insecure for having standards.&#8221;
&#8220;They get a lot of attention from guys on OF [OnlyFans] so they think they have options,&#8221; Trace continued. &#8220;But any guy who is so desperate to see sexual content they are willing to pay for it is a desperate loser. A lot of successful guys will sleep with those girls but they don’t want to wife them.&#8221;
&#8220;I see a lot of these girls speaking out on this now saying they can’t get a serious relationship,” Trace said. “It’s because men see the value in those girls strictly for sex. They don’t look at those women and equate their value as a future wife, mother, or loyal partner.”
&#8220;I know some amazing girls that are genuinely good people that do OF,&#8221; the musician continued. &#8220;I just think this independent mindset of not needing a man is extremely toxic and leads to a very lonely future.&#8221;
&#8220;I hope more girls continue to speak up about this so other girls know the risk of getting into it,&#8221; he closed the post. &#8220;Having a good man and a family will bring you more happiness in old age than OF ever could.&#8221;

You remember Miley Cyrus. She&#8217;s the one who came in like a wrecking ball, naked, and also partied in the USA. She also buys herself flowers.
Cyrus has a new song out right now called “Used to Be Young.” The entire song is Miley Cyrus complaining about all of the things she has spent her entire life promoting and doing which were very bad for her — and have now left her single and alone at the age of 30.
What&#8217;s amazing about this is the song was written by the same songwriting duo who created “Flowers,” a song about how she went through a breakup and can now buy herself flowers. She sang, “I can love me better than you can.”
As I said when I first saw the video, she looks like a sad person — literally a person alone, by herself running around an empty city in what felt like an emotional, post-apocalyptic hellscape.  
In the new song, she says that out loud. She&#8217;s wearing a Mickey Mouse shirt to signify a time when she was on Disney’s “Hannah Montana” at the age of 13. She&#8217;s wearing a red dress and crying into the camera for roughly three minutes about how she&#8217;s made all these mistakes and doesn&#8217;t have a lot to show for it.
I don&#8217;t understand how a person can make the songs “Flowers” and “Used To Be Young” in the same year. Perhaps they are related to one another. Perhaps the way to avoid regrets of the past is to live a fulfilling and purpose-driven present.

When you spread the message that “You are enough for you; live your life, single ladies, you don&#8217;t need a husband; you don&#8217;t need kids; you don&#8217;t need meaning; you don&#8217;t need purpose, you don&#8217;t need church; you don&#8217;t need a community, you don&#8217;t need any of those things, it&#8217;s just you, Girl Boss,” and then you turn out like this — perhaps those two messages are related.
The entire message of the new song is, “I know I used to be crazy. That&#8217;s because I used to be young.” The contrapositive is that she&#8217;s not crazy anymore because she&#8217;s not young anymore. And maybe it&#8217;s time to grow up. The song is being interpreted by some in the media as an anthem to “I don&#8217;t regret my past.”
Except for this: She&#8217;s crying during the entire song. The entire song. She sings, “Open bars lead to broken hearts and goin’ way too far.” Yup.
If I thought this was the new Miley Cyrus and that she was actually going to embrace a purpose-driven life, I&#8217;d be a little bit more charitable. I hope she does. I hope the next thing she embraces is singing messages that people in their 20s should hear, such as: “Life is not about partying in the USA” and “You can&#8217;t buy yourself flowers.” Or this: “You should try to be a better person so you can find Mr. Right and then settle down, build an actual family structure and then do something for the world.” That would be a great message. 
I don&#8217;t trust pop music to do that, though. Pop music is the most narcissistic form of music. The messages in rap right now are full-on destructive, but pop is insanely narcissistic, just about “me and my feelings” in front of a giant mirror all the time.
She finishes the song:

Here&#8217;s the thing: You shouldn&#8217;t waste more nights like that, even if what you want to say is “I&#8217;ve made mistakes in my past and that&#8217;s what made me what I am.” Be something more or you&#8217;re going to end up at 40 singing the same tune.
She’s still young. There’s no reason she can&#8217;t put together a successful life and be useful; create a purposeful, meaning-driven life, not one where she’s coming in like a wrecking ball, naked.
I hope this is the beginning of a rethinking for Miley Cyrus.

In one of the TikTok clips she talked about her father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, and how he had a very different path to fame.

&#8220;What people don’t really understand about touring is the show is only 90 minutes, but that’s your life,&#8221; Miley said in a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@mileycyrus/video/7272017942575910175?lang=en">video</a> posted Sunday. “If you’re performing at a certain level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest.&#8221;
&#8220;There’s a level of ego that has to play a part, that I feel gets overused when I’m on tour and once that switches on, it’s hard to turn it off,” she continued. “And I think when you’re training your ego every single night to be active, that’s the hardest switch for me to turn off.&#8221;

&#8220;I&#8217;m so sick of it,&#8221; Cyrus wrote. &#8220;People are losing their lives to these type of words. Murderous words that you people drop at the press of a button, and there is never any accountability held. I&#8217;m so tired of seeing it on the daily. It really makes me sick.&#8221;
The sister of Miley Cyrus concluded her lengthy posts by writing, &#8220;You&#8217;re all so beautiful, and I love you. I hope you feel my love from afar today, where you may be.”

&#8220;When Miley Cyrus&#8217; song &#8216;Flowers&#8217; debuted, there was a lot of talk that the music video – I know, the audience is already responding to this,&#8221; Cohen laughed as chatter came from the studio audience. &#8220;Okay, there was already a lot of talk that the music video was referencing a secret fling that you had with Liam Hemsworth while he was with Miley Cyrus —&#8221;
&#8220;Not true!&#8221; Lawrence interrupted before Cohen even had the chance to ask, &#8220;Can you please respond to this?&#8221;
&#8220;I would love to,&#8221; Lawrence said, repeating, &#8220;Not true, total rumor. We all know me and Liam, like, kissed one time. It was years after they broke up, so I just assumed that [the gold dress] was, like, a coincidence.&#8221;
&#8220;Thank you for clearing that up,&#8221; Cohen said, after which Lawrence turned to the audience and asked, &#8220;Are you satisfied?&#8221;
The music video featured Cyrus in a gold dress, sparking the rumor that the former Disney star had chosen the dress as a callback to the gold dress Lawrence had worn to the 2012 Los Angeles premiere of &#8220;The Hunger Games&#8221; — the movie in which she had co-starred with Hemsworth.
Lawrence did credit her &#8220;Hunger Games&#8221; costar with helping her develop better negotiating skills and learn to stand up for herself.

Miley Cyrus appeared to open up about her failed marriage to actor Liam Hemsworth in her new song — titled &#8220;Flowers&#8221; — in which she references the brief union that lasted less than nine months.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/miley-cyrus">30-year-old</a> pop singer dropped the new song off her upcoming 13-track album titled &#8220;Endless Summer Vacation&#8221; on Friday, just hours before her ex-husband&#8217;s birthday, <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/music/2023/01/13/miley-cyrus-drops-breakup-song-flowers-liam-hemsworth-birthday/11049035002/">USA Today</a> reported on Sunday.
The lyrics center around someone who thought the person they were with was right for them but who now realizes they are stronger without them. It is set to the melody of Bruno Mars&#8217; ballad &#8220;When I Was Your Man.&#8221;
&#8220;We were good / We were gold / Kind of dream that can&#8217;t be sold,” Cyrus sings in one of the lyrics. &#8220;We were right / &#8216;Til we weren&#8217;t / Built a home and watched it burn.&#8221;

The later part of the line was an obvious reference not only to the ending of their marriage burning down but the actual destruction of their Malibu home in the 2018 Woolsey wildfire that destroyed their California home, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/01/13/miley-cyrus-details-liam-hemsworth-marriage-in-new-song-flowers/">Page Six</a> noted.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t want to leave you / I didn&#8217;t wanna lie / Started to cry but then remembered / I can buy myself flowers,&#8221; Cyrus added in another lyric. &#8220;Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don&#8217;t understand.&#8221;
&#8220;I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand,&#8221; she added in the song. &#8220;Yeah, I can love me better than you can.&#8221;
In another part of the song, the &#8220;Hannah Montana&#8221; star sings about how she has &#8220;no remorse&#8221; and &#8220;no regret&#8221; and forgets &#8220;every word&#8221; her ex-husband ever said.
Miley and Hemsworth were together off-and-on for ten years after first meeting on the set of their film in 2009 &#8220;The Last Song,&#8221; the outlet noted.
They got engageed in 2012 and finally decided to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony with only a small group of close friends and family members in December 2018. Less than nine months later, reports surfaced that the two were separating, Page Six noted. A short time later, Hemsworth filed for divorce. The pair officially became divorced in January 2020, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-miley-cyrus-mom-files-for-divorce-from-billy-ray-after-nearly-30-years-of-marriage-again">reported</a>.
