With Islamic Republic of Iran’s (IRI) growing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/flashback-tim-walz-called-the-iran-deal-the-best-path-forward">nuclear</a> and <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/19/politics/us-concludes-iran-behind-trump-biden-harris-hacking/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cyber</a> threats, it is curious that the Democratic Party in this country still panders to the regime. IRI is not a friend of the free — so why do some in this country, particularly those on the Left, insist upon capitulating to the Islamic extremists? 
There is an episode of &#8220;The Twilight Zone&#8221; (the original version) that speaks to this unholy alliance. In “People are Alike All Over,” two astronauts from Earth, Marcusson and Conrad, crash their spaceship on Mars, which is habited by intelligent life. Marcusson dies from the crash — but before their departure, he assures Conrad not to worry about the aliens, for “people are alike all over.” He is an optimist and sees the best in everyone. Conrad, however, doesn’t see the inherent good in others like his late partner and is fearful of the Martians. He imagines the worst. But it seems Marcusson was correct not to worry. The beings, far advanced beyond humans, assist the stranded Conrad and provide him with food and comfortable shelter; they seem generous and eager to share with him. The twist — and there is always a twist with &#8220;The Twilight Zone&#8221; — is that the well-furnished house provided by the aliens is actually a cage. It is a zoo exhibit complete with a sign on the outside reading, “Earth Creature in His Native Habitat.” Conrad is imprisoned for the rest of his life. In this chilling ending, he stares in horror at the ogling crowd of extraterrestrials and realizes Marcusson was unwittingly still right: people are alike all over.
This episode first aired in 1960. For this day and age, I echo Conrad and warn the Democratic Party: Islamists are alike all over.
Islamists are fundamentalist Muslims whose ultimate goal is world domination. Islamists hunger to subjugate others, truly the rest of the world, under Sharia. As such, they loathe the West, especially the United States. They view freedom enshrined in the U.S. Constitution not as fundamental human rights but as blasphemy and satanic. They include the likes of ISIS and the Taliban, Islamic groups whose atrocities are widely condemned throughout the West. And importantly: Islamists are also the Islamic regime in Iran. But just like the Martians in &#8220;The Twilight Zone,&#8221; the mullahs of IRI obfuscate their true nature. They speak our language by <a href="https://democrawonk.com/2024/06/28/iranian-elections-the-never-ending-saga-of-hardliners-vs-reformists/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">calling their politicians “reformists</a>.” They ease our discomfort by depicting popular support for the regime. But do not be fooled like poor Conrad. This is <a href="https://www.hoover.org/research/soft-power-iranian-regime" target="_blank" rel="noopener">propaganda</a>. Their cruelty equals that of ISIS and the Taliban. IRI is not as open with their torture and executions as ISIS was, but these are daily state-sanctioned practices.
So how do we avoid Conrad’s fate? How can we escape caging ourselves and foregoing our autonomy? I propose a simple method: Imagine the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is Osama Bin Laden. How would you feel about the United States giving Bin Laden <a href="https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2023/11/15/iran-receives-access-to-10-billion-thanks-to-u-s-sanctions-waiver/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">billions of dollars</a>? How would you feel about Bin Laden’s agents working as <a href="https://www.iranintl.com/en/202408150305" target="_blank" rel="noopener">advisors to American politicians</a>? How would you feel about Bin Laden sympathizers <a href="https://www.iranintl.com/en/202404246143" target="_blank" rel="noopener">receiving American funding for research</a> that would be shared with Al Qaeda? 
Islamists are alike all over. When September 11 happened, the Islamic Republic of Iran celebrated. I was nine-years-old at the time and remember receiving candy at my school in Tehran. The largest terror attack on American soil, nearly 3,000 Americans dead — this was joyous news. Do we really want to engage with a regime — and its apologists — that cheer our death? What happens to those who open their doors to these extremists? Look at Afghanistan to find the answer. Or Iraq. Or Yemen. We cannot tolerate this evil. Our democratic pillars are strong, but they can still crack.

The U.S. government should investigate domestic ties to the Islamic Republic more rigorously. Anyone with connections to the Islamic regime should not be given visas to come to this country. Additionally, the American public needs to understand the truth, that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ISIS by a different name. It is the Taliban. It is Al Qaeda. Knowing this will help the American people hold their leaders accountable, whether by ballot or other means.
&#8220;The Twilight Zone&#8221; is a fun show to watch—from the security of your couch. Its chilling twist endings provide rich entertainment. Its themes, often of human nature, help us ponder philosophical questions. Rod Serling’s timeliness narration deliciously haunts us through the screen. It is fun escapism, but no one actually wants to live in &#8220;The Twilight Zone.&#8221;

Two U.S. Marines were assaulted in western Turkey on Monday by a mob of angry Turkish nationalists who placed a bag over the head of one Marine while chanting, &#8220;Yankee, go home!&#8221;
The Marines, who are assigned to the USS Wasp, were walking on the street in Izmir in civilian clothing when a group of men &#8220;physically attacked&#8221; them, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/two-u-s-marines-ambushed-assaulted-mob-turkish-nationalists-yankee-go-home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The angry mob was reportedly a group from the Youth Union of Turkey, an anti-American student association.
Five more Marines stepped in to stop the group before Turkish authorities arrived and arrested 15 men who had attacked the Marines. Video shows the Americans being surrounded by a group of shouting men as they placed a bag over the head of one of the Marines The footage was posted online by the Youth Union of Turkey.

The two Marines who were attacked were not injured in the incident, according to the U.S. military.
&#8220;We can confirm reports that U.S. service members embarked aboard the USS Wasp were the victims of an assault in İzmir today, and are now safe,&#8221; the U.S. Embassy in Turkey said. &#8220;We thank Turkish authorities for their rapid response and ongoing investigation.&#8221;
U.S. Navy Cmdr. Timothy Gorman said that no Marines had been detained, adding, &#8220;Local Izmir police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service are cooperating in an investigation of the incident.
The Youth Union of Turkey defended the attack on U.S. Marines, saying in a statement obtained by Reuters, &#8220;U.S. soldiers who carry the blood of our soldiers and thousands of Palestinians on their hands cannot dirty our country. Every time you step foot in these lands, we will meet you the way you deserve.&#8221;

Retired Lt. General H.R. McMaster, who served as the first national security adviser under former President Donald Trump, said he was concerned about the safety of U.S. forces in the Middle East because the Biden-Harris administration was unwilling to allow them to defend themselves adequately against Iranian aggression.
McMaster made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CBS News&#8217;s &#8220;Face The Nation&#8221; with host Margaret Brennan when asked about the 40,000 troops that the U.S. currently has in the Middle East and whether there was a risk of miscalculation in the region that could cause &#8220;blowback to those U.S. forces.&#8221;
&#8220;What I&#8217;m concerned about is that those forces will be constrained in what they&#8217;re able to do in response,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I think what we have seen is a reluctance to act like we know what the return address is for this violence. And, of course, the return address is Iran.&#8221;

McMaster noted that Iran &#8220;is pursuing a strategy in which it is willing to expend every Arab life, every Palestinian life, every Lebanese life, in pursuit of its objective of destroying Israel.&#8221;
&#8220;Meanwhile, Iran is continuing to funnel weapons not only into Southern Lebanon, but to essentially a proxy army in Syria, into the West Bank,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;At the same time, Iran is racing to produce a nuclear device. So I think what we have to recognize is this horrible situation in the region that&#8217;s been going on for 40 years, right?&#8221;
He explained that the notion that Israel needs to de-escalate the situation was nonsense, considering how long they have been dealing with the current situation in the region.

Ex-Trump Official Explains How Middle East Is More Dangerous For U.S. Troops Under Biden-Harris

True to form, the Democratic Party’s 2024 foreign policy platform is as full of historical revisionism as one would predict.
Its contents range from artful dodging to outright untruths. Most importantly, the platform is divorced from the actual Biden-Harris foreign policy record of the last four years.
The most blatant omissions are on Afghanistan, found in a section absurdly titled “Leading with Diplomacy and American Values.” The platform gives a single cursory mention to the withdrawal, stating that the White House “ended America’s longest war” and led the “largest resettlement effort since the Vietnam War.” That’s certainly one way to describe a humiliating retreat that left Americans trapped behind enemy lines, killed 13 military heroes, ignored clear intelligence warnings, and unleashed a historic humanitarian disaster. A subsequent section touts the Biden-Harris administration as a “strong advocate for the rights and opportunities of women and girls.” Did they already forget about the millions of women and girls they relegated to Taliban rule?
The platform’s discussion of Iran is Orwellian, touting the administration’s &#8220;aggressive diplomacy&#8221; to &#8220;defend against Iran.&#8221; In other words: relentless appeasement, unchecked attacks on troops and diplomats, ransom payments, and billions in sanctions relief for the leading state sponsor of terrorism. No U.S. presidency has done more to enrich and embolden the regime, and it’s not even close.
Then comes Russia. The platform argues Democrats have successfully helped Kyiv “defend its territory.” Don&#8217;t they know Russia murdered its way through Ukraine under its watch? We all remember how Biden and Harris set the stage for Putin’s invasion with the “minor incursion” gaffe, repeated weapons delays, desperate diplomacy, and their refusal to sanction the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
The Middle East section does its best to be all things to all people, paying rhetorical lip service to Israel while nodding to Palestinian grievances. Most incredibly, the platform touts Democrats’ supposed defense of Israel at the United Nations. Is that what they meant by restoring funding for UNRWA’s terrorism, legitimizing the anti-Semitic Human Rights Council, and letting anti-Israel resolutions pass in the Security Council?
To no surprise, the platform also avoids a clear stance on deterring the Chinese Communist Party. Instead, it discusses the need to “manage” our “most consequential strategic competitor,” avert “a costly spiral to conflict,” and “identify new areas where the United States and China may be able to work together.” Forget a theory of victory — we all know this is a euphemism for accommodation and appeasing the CCP. And to remove any wonder as to whether Democrats view the PRC as America’s top security threat, the platform also clarifies that “there is nothing more important than addressing the climate crisis.”
Is it even worth discussing its absurd border claims? The platform outrageously claims the White House took “decisive action to secure our border” and “decreased illegal border crossings.” Even progressives know this is a farce. Biden and Kamala willfully abetted illegal immigration and fueled border chaos.
Regarding Latin America, the platform argues the Biden-Harris Administration “strengthened ties with key allies across the Hemisphere.” But their only new friends seem to be Left-wing authoritarians like the FARC (delisted as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the Blinken State Department) and Maduro, who has enjoyed sweeping sanctions relief, freed relatives, and political cover for his sham election.
The platform also boasts of “historic investments” in military capacity – quite a claim from a White House that sought to cut the Pentagon’s buying power. The Biden-Harris Administration has made our military budget its smallest since World War II. And lest we forget, Kamala has even acknowledged that she “unequivocally agree[s]” with the goal of reducing the defense budget.
Americans should be outraged at these distortions, which neglect the war and chaos that have spread across nearly every theater under Biden and Harris. Our national security is clearly weaker under their leadership. Americans know we are less safe and that Kamala would only accelerate the foreign policy failures of the Biden presidency.

If you&#8217;re feeling outraged lately, you are not alone.
It is outrageous the way that we, the American people, are being absolutely gaslit by the president of the United States, his pathetic vice president of the United States, and the even-more pathetic legacy media.
It is a triumvirate of corruption and circular sycophancy. It&#8217;s truly horrifying. The reason it&#8217;s truly horrifying is that the world is on the verge of World War III, specifically in the Middle East, and today, the Lebanese media reported that Hezbollah, a major terrorist group operating out of Lebanon and effectively an Iranian front group, is preparing a massive assault on Israel.
In fact, Hezbollah is preparing for that. We know this because they&#8217;ve apparently evacuated their Beirut headquarters fearing an Israeli counterstrike. The United States is mobilizing serious resources into the eastern Mediterranean, moving aircraft carriers into the Mediterranean at the behest of the president of the United States, presumably, or Lloyd Austin, the Secretary of Defense.
While this is happening, the president of the United States is asleep on a beach in Delaware. He does nothing for a living. Thus, this raises a fairly serious question: Why is there a complete vacuum at the top of the United States government?
You could maintain that Joe Biden was capable of doing the job before that first debate, but after the debate, even Democrats and the media said he is not capable of being the Democratic nominee. He needed to go. He&#8217;s senile. He&#8217;s falling apart. So, they got rid of him. They took him out back like Old Yeller. Then, he was gone.
But he&#8217;s still the president of the United States. And that reflects their astonishing dishonesty to the American people.

When you elect a president, you deserve to have a president. As far as Biden goes, I didn&#8217;t vote for him; I would never vote for him.
But he is my president because he is the president of the United States right now, which means he has all the executive powers entrusted to him by the Constitution of the United States and the American people in the 2020 election.
And he is gone. He is not there. The world is on fire, and he is not there.
Kamala Harris knows he&#8217;s not there. The entire Cabinet knows he&#8217;s not there. The entire media know he&#8217;s not there. The entire American people know he&#8217;s not there. 
In fact, the entire world knows Biden is not there. So, they are moving aggressively; the Iranians are moving aggressively. Meanwhile, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is trying to tell the Iranians just how hard they can hit the Israelis without prompting some sort of serious Israeli response. Meanwhile, the Ukrainians are pushing into Russia with Biden asleep at the switch down in Delaware somewhere on a beach with Jill sitting and holding his hand as he nods off into Slumberland. 
This is tremendously disrespectful to the American people. They have already acknowledged Biden has shuffled off the mortal coil, yet he remains the president of the United States.
The only reason Harris is leaving him in, rather than invoking the 25th Amendment to get rid of him, is because he won&#8217;t leave. He believes he should get the gold watch and he should get a first night tribute at the DNC.
Of course, she&#8217;s perfectly willing to keep him in place because if she were the acting president of the United States, running for reelection, she would be the one responsible.
But she doesn&#8217;t want the responsibility. She doesn&#8217;t want the accountability. She does not want to be linked with Biden&#8217;s record.
Democrats, in their disgusting and malign search for power, no matter the consequences, have deemed it necessary to keep a dead person in the Oval Office right now as the world burns.
They understand that if Harris is saddled with Biden&#8217;s record, she loses. So what are they doing? They&#8217;re leaving the dead body in place. That way, Americans will blame the dead body for all the bad policy.
Meanwhile, Harris will be in Team USA jackets as she dances and pretends joy while, at the same time, campaigning and avoiding questions.
And the media are falling right into place like the Praetorian Guard, the bootlickers that they are. The Democrat media human centipede continues to grow.
It is infuriating because as an American citizen, I would like a president — even a bad president — responsible for what happens so that you can hold that president accountable.
What they want is a president who can&#8217;t be held accountable because he&#8217;s senile and a candidate who can&#8217;t be held accountable because she&#8217;s not the president.

The U.S. is accelerating the deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East amid an imminent threat to Israel from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hezbollah, Iran&#8217;s largest top terrorist proxy group.
The announcement came after Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant on Sunday about the situation.
The Pentagon said in a statement that the U.S. was taking &#8220;every possible step to defend Israel and noted the strengthening of U.S. military force posture and capabilities throughout the Middle East in light of escalating regional tensions.&#8221;
&#8220;Reinforcing this commitment, the Secretary Austin has ordered the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN Carrier Strike Group, equipped with F-35C fighters, to accelerate its transit to the Central Command area of responsibility, adding to the capabilities already provided by the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT Carrier Strike Group,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;Additionally, the Secretary has ordered the USS Georgia (SSGN 729) guided missile submarine to the Central Command region.&#8221;
The expected attack comes after Israel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israel-kills-hezbollahs-most-senior-military-commander-after-terror-group-killed-12-children">killed</a> Fuad Shukr last month, Hezbollah&#8217;s “most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit” and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s “right-hand man”, according to the IDF.
Shukr was responsible for directing all of Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel since Hamas’ unprecedented October 7 terrorist attack in which thousands of terrorists stormed into Israel from Gaza and murdered 1,200 people, wounded more than 5,000, and took hundreds of people hostage.
The U.S. government had <a href="https://rewardsforjustice.net/rewards/fuad-shukr/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">placed</a> a $5 million bounty on Shukr for playing a “central role in the October 23, 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut which killed 241 U.S. military personnel and wounded 128 others,” according to the U.S. State Department.
Israel is also believed to be behind the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-top-hamas-leader-ismail-haniyeh-killed-inside-iran">killing</a> last month of Hamas terrorist leader Ismail Haniyeh in a bombing on a guest house he was staying at inside Iran.
Various intelligence assessments have concluded that the attack will be <a href="https://twitter.com/ELINTNews/status/1822750069336252587">coordinated</a> between Iran and Hezbollah and will likely occur early this week.

U.S. Accelerates Deployment Of Aircraft Carrier Strike Group To Middle East Amid Imminent Threat From Iran, Hezbollah

The U.S. Department of Defense announced on Friday that it was deploying some additional assets to the Middle East and near the Middle East to increase force posture in the region amid an increased threat environment created by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The U.S. is replacing the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, which has been deployed in the region, with the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group.
The Pentagon is also sending &#8220;additional ballistic missile defense-capable cruisers and destroyers to the U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command regions,&#8221; according to a statement. &#8220;The Department is also taking steps to increase our readiness to deploy additional land-based ballistic missile defense.&#8221;
The U.S. is also sending an additional fighter squadron to the region.
The news comes as Western intelligence officials believe that a large scale attack against Israel will be launched in the coming days after Israel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/israel-kills-hezbollahs-most-senior-military-commander-after-terror-group-killed-12-children" target="_blank" rel="noopener">killed</a> Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah’s top military commander, on Tuesday and is believed to be behind the Wednesday killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the top leader of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hamas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hamas</a>.
Shukr was targeted after Hezbollah murdered 12 children inside Israel over the weekend and Haniyeh was targeted in response to the October 7 attacks.
Officials believe that the attack will include Iran and its largest terrorist proxy group, Hezbollah, which is located to Israel&#8217;s north in Lebanon. The attack may also include other Iranian-backed terrorist groups, including the Houthis in Yemen, and various groups in Iraq.

President Joe Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-harris-threaten-to-cut-u-s-support-for-israel-if-israel-continues-to-kill-top-terrorists">warned</a> Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a private call this week “that he expects no more escalation from the Israeli side,” Axios reported, even though Israel was protecting itself against those who are responsible for killing large numbers of Israelis.
“Biden also warned Netanyahu that if he escalates again, he shouldn’t count on the U.S. to bail him out,” the report added.

On October 7 last year, ordinary civilians in Israel were the victims of extraordinary savagery. Hamas terrorists killed young people at a music festival, often in gruesome ways. Families were slaughtered in suburban homes. By any civilized moral standards, there ought to be overwhelming sympathy for a country subjected to such savagery.
Instead, throughout the Western world, we have witnessed endless anti-Israel protests. Why?
Part of the reason is demographics. In Britain, for example, in 2001 there were one and half million Muslims. Today, there are almost four million.
That is not to say that every — or even most — British Muslims are anti-Israel. But it does explain the scale and size of some recent protests.
So, too, on American university campuses. There have been frequent anti-Israel student protests, often at so-called elite universities. It is perhaps not a coincidence that there has also been a rapid rise in the number of students with Middle Eastern backgrounds at such universities.
Again, not every student from the Middle East is necessarily anti-Israel. But the reservoir of potential anti-Israel student protesters is certainly larger than before.
The rise in anti-Israel sentiment in the West clearly can’t only be about demographics. Many, if not most, of those protesting against Israel are not those with a Middle Eastern background, but those on the political Left.
Why then do those on the Left have such animus towards Israel? Why do they seem to suspend ordinary moral standards whenever Israel is involved?
When it comes to Ukraine, for example, those on the political Left – correctly in my view – see Ukraine as a brave country, rightfully taking a stand against a vastly bigger aggressor.
So why don’t they see Israel that way?
Israel wasn’t just attacked on October 7. From the Six Day War to the Yom Kippur War, Israel has been on the receiving end of relentless aggression.
Israel, a country smaller than Vermont, is surrounded by larger foes intent on destroying her and eradicating her people, as Hamas showed us a few months ago.
Progressive opinion in America and Britain is of the view that the government of Ukraine must not try to accommodate Russia or make concessions. So why do they demand that Israel call a ceasefire?
London, Washington and Berlin are full of leaders who want to supply Ukraine with weapons. Why then do many also demand that America and Europe stop giving Israel the tools to defend herself?
The last time there was unequivocal support for Israel in the West was during the Entebbe raid in Uganda in 1976. I remember the morning of the Entebbe raid well. A young child at the time, I happened to be living close by in Kampala.
When Israel pulled off a daring rescue mission, freeing the trapped hostages from the hijacked Air France plane at Entebbe — where Benjamin Netanyahu’s brother Yonatan lost his life — there was rejoicing across the political spectrum.
Today, when Israel attempts to rescue her hostages in Gaza she is treated by many media outlets with scorn. Look at how posters of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have been torn down in cities throughout Europe and America.
As my friend Douglas Murray has pointed out, when a cat or dog goes missing in London or Paris or New York, people will often put up a poster about the missing pet. If we saw someone take down a poster about a missing pet, we would be offended. We’d know it was wrong. Where is the outrage against those removing posters of the Bibas kids?
One reason Israel is held to a different standard is anti-Semitism.
Anti-Semitism is a famously shape shifting virus. At one time, Jews were hated for their religion, then for their race. Today, it seems to me, it is for their nation.
Israel is loathed by many progressives because as a country, Israel embodies the notion of national self-determination. For many centuries, Jewish families toasted each other at Passover with the phrase: “Next year in Jerusalem.”
And then in 1948, almost miraculously, it came true.
National self-determination offends elite opinion formers. They revere supranationalism instead. They venerate the UN, the ICC and the EU.
Progressives prefer laws made by international treaty over those passed by elected national legislatures. Progressives prefer fealty to rules made by the global community over obligations to an actual community.
Israel’s success offends the Left not only because she is a national state, but because she demonstrates the success of Western society.
If all cultures were of equal worth, why then does a small state that could fit inside Vermont produce so much enterprise and innovation?
If there is an equivalence between cultures, why has post 1948 Israel seen such success amid a sea of Middle Eastern failure and autocracy?
Those who loathe Israel don’t just hate the Jewish nation state, they despise all nation states – including another phenomenally successful Republic, started not in 1948 but in 1776.
If they merely hate Israel, why do they burn the American flag?
America and the Western way of life is their intended target.
Whether we like it or not, those of us who love America, who see Western culture as a sublime human achievement, have no choice but to side with and support Israel, against those who seek to destroy us all.
Those who hate Israel hate us too.

An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/illegal-immigration" target="_blank" rel="noopener">illegal alien</a> who entered the U.S. under President Joe Biden has been criminally charged for allegedly violently raping a young girl in New York after he threatened to beat her if she did not comply with his demands.
The Turkish national, 21-year-old Sakir Akkan, allegedly raped the 15-year-old girl on May 14 after he threatened to beat her with a metal pipe if she did not get in the back seat of a car he was driving.
After the girl got into the vehicle, he drove to an isolated area, ripped her clothes off and raped her, the Albany Times-Union <a href="https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/albany-police-not-notify-public-girl-s-abduction-19538592.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. She suffered injuries as she tried to stop the man from raping her, the report said.
Akkan, who was released into the U.S. by the Biden administration late last year, was arrested last week and charged with first degree rape.
The newspaper said that the police &#8220;did not issue a news release or warn the public after the young girl was abducted as she walked on New Scotland Avenue in what appears to have been a random attack.&#8221;
The police department claimed that they did nothing improper or out of the norm by not alerting the public that a dangerous child sex predator was roaming the area.
&#8220;Had there been a perceived threat to the public, appropriate information would have been released,” a spokesperson claimed. “As far as the release or sexual assault reports and arrests that do not pose a threat to the public are generally not released in order to prevent retraumatization of the victim.”
However, the newspaper noted that the department&#8217;s claim is not consistent with their past actions as they have released information on sexual assaults and rapes in the past, including just a couple weeks after the girl was raped.

The department claimed that its decision to not release a statement had nothing to do with the fact that the suspect was an illegal alien.
A person involved in the investigation, who was not authorized to speak on the record, slammed the department&#8217;s decision to not release information and suggested that it was a cover-up related to his immigration status.
“If an asylum-seeker snatching a kid (off a public street) and raping them and remaining on the loose is not a threat to public safety, then what is a threat to public safety?” the person said.
Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin slammed the department in a statement and suggested that it was trying to cover the story up.
&#8220;A 15 yr old girl raped by an ILLEGAL ALIEN in the city of Albany and the public doesn&#8217;t get notified?&#8221; he posted on X. &#8220;We are suppose to believe this wasn&#8217;t covered up by the city administration? Bulls**t. This is a national story. What the hell went on here?&#8221;

An American captured by the Taliban a year after President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan in August of 2021 remains a hostage, and his family is growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of action from President Joe Biden as his health deteriorates. 
Ryan Corbett’s wife, Anna Corbett, has been fighting for his release, appearing before Congress and on major news networks to call on Biden and lawmakers to act. Since he was taken hostage, Corbett’s family has managed to secure nine brief video calls with him, and see that his condition is worsening.
His wife told The Daily Wire that the last call came this Sunday and says the call only &#8220;heightened&#8221; her concerns, learning that he has new health issues.
&#8220;My latest call with Ryan only heightened my concerns about his mental and physical health following more than 22 months in a basement cell without access to sunlight or nutritious foods,&#8221; Anna Corbett said. &#8220;My once healthy husband now faints without warning, experiences constant ringing in his ears, and is losing faith that this nightmare will ever end.&#8221;
&#8220;I continue to call on President Biden to meet with me to discuss how we can bring Ryan home before it&#8217;s too late,&#8221; she added.
A spokesman for Biden&#8217;s State Department would not specify any steps that had been taken to bring Corbett, a father of three, back to the United States, only telling The Daily Wire that it “will continue to work securing his immediate release.” 
“We are in contact with the UN Special Rapporteur&#8217;s office and welcome their efforts to call for more humane conditions Ryan and others held by the Taliban,” a State Department spokesman told The Daily Wire in an email. “We consider Ryan’s detention to be wrongful and we will continue to work securing his immediate release.” 
The United Nations official referenced by the State Department <a href="https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2024/06/afghanistan-detained-american-aid-workers-life-risk-if-no-urgent-medical">warned</a> earlier this month of Corbett’s deteriorating health and called on the Taliban to give him “medical treatment in a civilian hospital without delay.” 
“The conditions in which this humanitarian worker is being detained are utterly inadequate and substantially below international standards. This is having a significant impact on his physical and mental health, which is declining rapidly. Without adequate medical care he is at risk of irreparable harm or even death,” said Alice Jill Edwards, the UN Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
Corbett and his family first <a href="https://www.freeryancorbett.com/about-ryan">moved to Afghanistan</a> in 2010 and started Bloom Afghanistan, an enterprise focused on improving the war-torn country’s private sector. The Corbett family safely evacuated from Afghanistan when the United States withdrew under Biden’s orders in August 2021, creating a vacuum that the Taliban quickly seized to take power. 
About five months after U.S. forces left Afghanistan, Corbett returned to the country by himself to renew his visa and train more staff for his enterprise. He was initially welcomed back to Afghanistan and remained there until August 10, 2022, when he, along with two Afghans and a German colleague were detained by Taliban forces. While the Afghans were released a month later and Corbett’s German colleague was let go in December 2022, Corbett is still being held hostage, likely for political leverage. 
Corbett’s 18-year-old daughter Ketsia — who is set to graduate from high school on June 28 — recorded a video last week describing her dad’s situation and asking President Biden to act soon to save her father. 
“It feels like the last two years of my childhood have been stolen from me. Every day I get out of bed, put on a smile, and push forward,” Ketsia says in the video. “But my dad’s suffering is constantly on my mind and in my prayers. We’ve talked to him only eight times, but the calls have become more and more terrifying. My dad’s being tortured and abused and he feels forgotten and alone.” 
“He has no idea what’s being done to bring him home and why it’s taking so long” she continued, adding, “President Biden, if you see this or read my letter, I’m asking you to do everything you can to can to bring my dad home. I hope you can meet him one day because he is an amazing man.”

Former President Donald Trump&#8217;s campaign told The Daily Wire that Corbett would be a free man if Trump was in office.
“President Trump brought more Americans back home and reunited them with their families because other countries knew not to test him,” said Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung. “With Biden in office, America is no longer respected on the world stage and has made Americans across the world more vulnerable.&#8221;
 &#8220;There is only one person who can negotiate the safe return of hostages like Ryan Corbett back to his family — President Trump,&#8221; Cheung added. 
Republican Congressman Mark Green (R-TN), who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, called on Biden to “make it clear that we will not tolerate the wrongful detainment of Americans.” 
“President Biden&#8217;s botched Afghanistan withdrawal was saddled with grievous error after grievous error despite being warned repeatedly that the return of the Taliban was not a question of if, but when,” Green told the The Daily Wire. “Just because the War on Terror has wound down does not mean our commitment to safeguarding American lives is over. President Biden must make it clear that we will not tolerate the wrongful detainment of Americans. I pray for Ryan’s family and his safe return home.”

BMW&#8217;s official corporate account on X said the quiet part out loud when someone dared to ask why the car company&#8217;s Middle East-facing logo had not been subjected to the same Pride-Month-rainbow-flag treatment as the logo seen in the United States: it wouldn&#8217;t be culturally acceptable there.
Libs of TikTok shared a series of screenshots showing several companies — including Cisco and BMW — that had adopted pride or rainbow-themed versions of their logos to display in the U.S. but had left their Middle East-facing logos alone.

Comedian <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/bill-maher" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bill Maher</a> said during his HBO &#8220;Real Time&#8221; show on Friday that pro-Hamas protesters in the U.S. should get &#8220;a taste&#8221; of how Islamic countries treat women.
Maher made the remarks as far-Left extremists have caused major disruptions at college campuses and in cities throughout the U.S.
&#8220;If you’re out protesting for a couple of hours wearing [a keffiyeh], you have to go all the way and spend an afternoon running errands wearing [a burqa],&#8221; he said. &#8220;You can’t side with the people who ruthlessly oppress women without at least getting a taste of what you’re supporting.&#8221;
&#8220;You want a cause? Because I totally got one for you, apartheid, yeah, apartheid, the thing you’ve been shouting about with Israel for months, never mind that Israeli Arabs are actually full citizens,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Today, right now, hundreds of millions of women are treated worse than second-class citizens.
