Prominent transgender medical activists are up in arms over the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ recommendation that children under 19 not have body parts surgically removed to treat gender confusion.
The ASPS left no uncertainty on its position on gender surgery for minors in its February 3 policy <a href="https://www.plasticsurgery.org/documents/health-policy/positions/2026-gender-surgery-children-adolescents.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a>, which recommends “surgeons delay gender-related breast/chest, genital, and facial surgery until a patient is at least 19 years old.”
A group of only seven individuals, who identified themselves as “Concerned members of the ASPS Gender Surgery Task Force,” <a href="https://acaps-prri.informz.net/acaps-prri/data/images/Open_Letter_to_the_Board_of_the_American_Society_of_Plastic_Surgeons.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed an open letter</a> to the ASPS demanding the organization provide clarifying information about the gender surgery statement, including its authors’ names, how it was developed, and if the board considered the “areas of emerging consensus” being reached by the task force.
“Clarification of the process used in developing this position statement is necessary to ensure transparency, accountability, and confidence in ASPS governance,” the letter reads.
Signatories of the letter include leaders of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH), a leading force pushing transgender procedures for minors. That includes WPATH president Asa Radix, MD, President-Elect Loren Schechter, MD, and board of directors member Scott Leibowitz, MD, who expected the “Gender Surgery Task Force” to “inform future ASPS statements or policy positions,” according to the letter.
&#8220;Let&#8217;s be clear: this is not a serious response from unbiased plastic surgeons,” Dr. Kurt Miceli, Medical Director at Do No Harm, told The Daily Wire. “This is a malicious attempt by WPATH activists to sow mistrust in ASPS&#8217;s meticulous and well-supported position statement on pediatric sex-rejecting procedures.”
“Their objections amount to little more than procedural complaints and never grapple with the substance of ASPS’s new position statement. This coordinated pushback should be recognized for what it is: unfounded and politically driven,&#8221; Miceli added.
The Daily Wire first reviewed the letter after it was obtained by Do No Harm. The ASPS told The Daily Wire the letter is based on a &#8220;series of misunderstandings.”
“It is important to note that the letter is based on a series of misunderstandings, which ASPS is in the process of clarifying for its members,” the group said.
WPATH is an activist medical organization that promotes discredited <a href="https://opa.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/2025-11/gender-dysphoria-report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">science</a> that is heavily reliant on medical consensus, rather than scientific evidence.
When deciding what would be included in its clinical guidance, WPATH members <a href="https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8299905/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">created consensus</a> among its members by anonymously voting if they agreed or disagreed with proposed clinical recommendation statements, according to its <a href="https://wpath.org/publications/soc8/methodology/#delphi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>.
The open letter described how a similar process was being used by the “Gender Surgery Task Force” to find areas of “emerging consensus,” noting the task force was “actively working towards a summary intended to inform Board-level deliberation regarding any Society position or policy statement.”
Both the <a href="https://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ukgwa/20250310143933/https://cass.independent-review.uk/home/publications/final-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cass Review</a> and the Department of Health and Human Services report on the treatment of gender dysphoria note that pediatric gender medicine guidelines rely heavily on medical consensus amongst like-minded professionals, rather than strong evidence.
“Many internationally influential guidelines, including those from WPATH, the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, have been criticized for substantial methodological shortcomings and inadequately managed conflicts of interest, resulting in recommendations not reliably supported by rigorous evidence,” the <a href="https://opa.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/2025-11/gender-dysphoria-report.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HHS report</a> says.
“This pattern of circular referencing and mutual endorsement among these guidelines further compromises their credibility and has likely perpetuated a perceived consensus in pediatric gender medicine that belies the actual paucity of high-quality evidence,” the report reads.
The ASPS statement cited several comprehensive evidence reviews, including the HHS <a href="https://opa.hhs.gov/gender-dysphoria-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a>, showing a departure from the consensus model adopted by many medical organizations.
WPATH did not immediately respond to The Daily Wire’s request for comment.

The American Medical Association (AMA) &#8212; which wields major influence as the nation&#8217;s largest medical association &#8212; has reversed course on its position concerning transgender surgical procedures for minors.
In a <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/news/first-major-medical-org-comes-out-against-trans-surgeries-for-minors/?utm_source=chatgpt.com">statement</a> to National Review, the AMA said “the evidence for gender-affirming surgical intervention in minors is insufficient for us to make a definitive statement,&#8221; adding that it &#8220;agrees&#8221; with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) &#8220;that surgical interventions in minors should be generally deferred to adulthood.”
The AMA added that it supports “evidence-based treatment,” including other types of so-called gender-affirming care for minors.
As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/this-fight-is-not-over-major-medical-org-rejects-transgender-surgeries-for-kids">The Daily Wire</a>, ASPS released a statement on Tuesday that said available evidence does not support genital procedures or removing the breasts of young girls who identify as boys. The ASPS also said there was “insufficient” support for placing kids on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
The pivot from the AMA is particularly stark, since the association has gone all-in on transgender procedures for minors even in the face of mounting evidence that such action is harmful and often irreversible.
Also, the timing of the change is incredibly notable. Just last week, a young woman was awarded a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/shocking-details-emerge-in-landmark-2-million-trans-malpractice-judgment?author=Amanda+Prestigiacomo&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Shocking+Details+Emerge+In+Landmark+%242+Million+‘Trans’+Malpractice+Judgment">$2 million judgment</a> in her lawsuit against the medical professionals who advanced and performed the removal of her healthy breasts at just 16 years old as part of transgender &#8220;treatment&#8221; for the teen, who at the time was suffering from a series of mental health issues.
Mere months ago, the AMA <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/americas-largest-medical-association-sides-with-child-mutilation-after-scotus-ruling">reaffirmed</a> its commitment to transgender procedures for minors in the wake of the Supreme Court&#8217;s ruling in United States v. Skrmetti, which effectively allowed states to ban such surgeries. 
“The American Medical Association is disappointed in today’s decision that opens the door to further intrusion into patient care and harmful government interference into the practice of medicine,” AMA President Dr. Bobby Mukkamala <a href="https://www.ama-assn.org/press-center/ama-press-releases/ama-statement-united-states-v-skrmetti" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement after the ruling came down.

<div class="dw-mm-player-container">Mukkamala, referring to trans health &#8220;experts,&#8221; also said on camera that he has &#8220;no business discussing the science that’s brought to the American Medical Association from people that spent years in training for this, and years taking care of patients for this.”</div>
Additionally, in 2023, the AMA <a href="https://www.endocrine.org/news-and-advocacy/news-room/2023/ama-gender-affirming-care">passed</a> a resolution that committed to “opposing any criminal and legal penalties against patients seeking gender-affirming care, family members or guardians who support them in seeking medical care, and health care facilities and clinicians who provide gender-affirming care.”
The association also vowed to “work at the federal and state level with legislators and regulators to oppose such policies and collaborate with other organizations to educate the Federation of State Medical Boards about the importance of gender-affirming care.”

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is reportedly preparing to announce a ban on transgender athletes competing in women&#8217;s sports categories early next year, following a scientific review concluding that biological males retain permanent physical advantages even after hormone treatment.

According to sources inside the organization, the move marks a major shift under new IOC President Kirsty Coventry, who has <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/sport/olympics/article/olympic-ioc-transgender-athlete-ban-womens-sports-zhlpfll3b?srsltid=AfmBOoqsgJXmVyDjAoL7xCJH3svNhZYfshQXa37cfT0MRck84bl7NOqV">vowed</a> to protect the integrity of women’s competition.

For years, the IOC has allowed transgender-identifying males to compete if they reduced testosterone levels below 10 nanomoles per liter for at least 12 months, leaving enforcement up to each sport. That approach led to inconsistent policies across Olympic disciplines, with sports such as swimming and track already implementing bans on biological males in women’s events while others, including soccer, did not.

Dr. Jane Thornton, the IOC’s medical and scientific director and a former Olympic rower for Canada, presented findings from the organization’s evidence review in Lausanne last week. One IOC member described her presentation as “scientific, factual, and unemotional,” clearly outlining that male-born athletes maintain significant physical advantages over female-born competitors even after testosterone suppression.

The pending rule change follows widespread controversy at the Paris 2024 Games, when two boxers — Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-Ting — both won gold medals in women’s boxing after being previously disqualified by the International Boxing Association (IBA) for failing gender eligibility tests.

Despite the IBA determining that Khelif failed a chromosome test, the IOC allowed the athlete to compete based solely on passport gender, dismissing testosterone testing as “irrelevant.” The IBA has since reinstated mandatory sex testing and stated that Khelif would not be eligible for future women’s competition without verification.

The debate over fairness in women’s sports has intensified since the IOC <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/olympics-transgender-athlete-rules-ioc-policy-framework-194620455.html">abandoned</a> its testosterone-based policy in 2021, claiming there should be “no presumption of advantage” for transgender-identifying males and urging international federations to determine eligibility independently.

That policy was hailed by transgender activists and athletes like the Canadian soccer player who identifies as transgender and non-binary, who goes by the mononym Quinn.
Quinn, who claims trans athletes compete “without any inherent advantage,” became the first openly trans athlete to win an Olympic gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

However, a 2021 report from the U.K. Sports Councils Equality Group contradicted that claim, finding that male-to-female transgender athletes retain significant physical advantages and “it is impossible to guarantee both safety and fairness” if they are allowed to compete in women’s events.

The upcoming IOC policy shift appears to align with that conclusion — acknowledging what many athletes and scientists have long said: that male biology provides lasting competitive benefits that testosterone reduction cannot erase.

The president of a major medical organization made wild claims about the benefits of transgender procedures on kids during a conversation with a Michigan lawmaker before falling back on so-called “experts,” according to video footage <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-2267-trump-protects-the-american-flag-plus-we-break-a-major-story?elementPosition=3&amp;row=2&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+Episodes&amp;rowType=Horizontal+Show+Episodes+Carousel">published</a> by the Ben Shapiro Show on Tuesday. 
During a video call earlier this year, American Medical Association (AMA) President Bobby Mukkamala defended his organization’s support for transgender procedures on kids by saying they relied on what “experts” had told them. Mukkamala also claimed that puberty blockers were reversible and cited other questionable statistics about transgender regret and suicide rates. 
Mukkamala made the comments during a call with Michigan Rep. Brad Paquette and Dr. Eithan Haim, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-doctor-blew-the-whistle-on-his-hospitals-transgender-clinic-now-the-feds-are-trying-to-ruin-his-life">doctor who exposed</a> Texas Children’s Hospital for doing transgender procedures on kids.  When pressed on the American Medical Association’s <a href="https://www.ama-assn.org/press-center/ama-press-releases/ama-states-stop-interfering-health-care-transgender-children">advocacy</a> for transgender procedures on kids, Mukkamala said that the association effectively rubberstamps whatever “the experts” tell them. 
“Neither one of us spent an hour working on transgender care, neither one of us,” Mukkamala told Haim in the footage obtained by Shapiro. “So we have no business discussing the science that&#8217;s brought to the American Medical Association from people that spent years in training for this, and years taking care of patients for this.”
The call was arranged by Paquette, a Republican who represents the southwest corner of Michigan, who was looking to discuss the AMA&#8217;s endorsement of transgender procedures on kids. Paquette supports shielding kids from transgender procedures and introduced a bill in May that would have banned them in Michigan.
The American Medical Association is the largest association of medical professionals in the United States and plays a powerful role in medical education, ethics, and advocacy.
&#8220;This footage is pretty catastrophic for the AMA,&#8221; Shapiro said. &#8220;It proves beyond any doubt that their support for trans &#8216;healthcare&#8217; is based on fake science, willful blindness, and a total abandonment of all evidence-based medicine — all of which are supposed to be antithetical to the existence of their organization, a violation of the Hippocratic Oath.&#8221;

Throughout the call, Haim pressed Mukkamala to provide evidence that transgender procedures don&#8217;t have damaging long-term impacts on kids. When he brought up the flawed studies frequently cited by WPATH and other proponents of transgender procedures, Mukkamala said that he relied on the interpretations of others and didn’t look at them himself.
“I don&#8217;t look at them. I rely on a specialty society to look at them and then give us their opinion of them. I&#8217;m not an expert at all. And honestly, I don&#8217;t think you are either,” he said. “I&#8217;m not an expert at all. I&#8217;m not an expert at all in the science that you&#8217;re talking to me about. I defer to the experts.”
At one point, Mukkamala clearly mocks Haim for even asking questions about the issue.

Commenting on Mukkamala&#8217;s repeated claims that he was not an expert,  Shapiro said that he should at least be aware of the ethical issues surrounding transgender medicine.
&#8220;And sure, he’s not an expert in endocrinology or plastic surgery,&#8221; Shapiro said. &#8220;But as the President of the AMA, he’s meant to be an expert in the AMA’s code of ethics, and at the bare minimum, the Hippocratic Oath.&#8221;
Mukkamala also claimed during the call that puberty blockers were reversible. Studies have shown that puberty blockers can cause permanent damage to fertility and loss of bone density, especially in the hips and spine.

He also suggested that between 50-70% of transgender individuals commit suicide and that only 2% of those who have medical transgender procedures regret those procedures. Both numbers are suspect, as even the most extreme studies only say that up to 40% of transgender identifying people have attempted suicide.

The 2% regret rate comes from a <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33968550/">study</a> that only measured after surgery, not the tens of thousands of kids who have been placed on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. It also did not measure regret past two years after the initial surgery. 
After Paquette told Mukkamala that he was upset by what he was hearing about kids being pushed to transition, he said that “the way to not be distraught is to talk to experts.”
Mukkamala also appeared to claim that sex change surgeries were not happening on kids in Michigan. This conflicts with data <a href="https://stoptheharmdatabase.com/state/michigan/">compiled</a> by Do No Harm that shows that there have been at least 186 kids who have undergone a transgender surgery in Michigan. 
The American Medical Association has been a staunch defender of transgender procedures on kids for years. In April 2021, the organization sent a <a href="https://www.ama-assn.org/press-center/ama-press-releases/ama-states-stop-interfering-health-care-transgender-children">letter</a> to governors across the country urging them not to protect kids from transgender procedures. 
“Empirical evidence has demonstrated that trans and non-binary gender identities are normal variations of human identity and expression,” the organization wrote. “It is imperative that transgender minors be given the opportunity to explore their gender identity under the safe and supportive care of a physician.”
Then, in a 2022 speech, then-American Medical Association President Jack Resneck Jr. claimed that opposition to transgender procedures on kids was driven by “misinformation.” 
“Drivers of disinformation say that gender-affirming care clinics are performing genital mutilation surgeries on teens, not involving families in care decisions, or using medical treatments on young children who show up after wondering for one day if they are trans,” he said.
Advocates of radical gender ideology will frequently cite organizations like the American Medical Association for reasons why the procedures should remain legal. Over two dozen states have acted in the last few years to ban transgender surgeries on minors.

In another example of Israeli scientists changing the world for the better, experts at Tel Aviv University (TAU) are preparing to perform the world’s first spinal cord implant.
Unlike most other bodily injuries, spinal cord injuries do not allow for cell regeneration. But the TAU scientists took blood cells and reprogrammed them through genetic engineering so they acted like embryonic stem cells. They took the cells and inserted them into a gel formed from collagen and sugars derived from fat tissue to “mimic the embryonic development of the spinal cord,” Prof. Tal Dvir, of TAU’s Sagol Center for Regenerative Biotechnology, head of the Nanotechnology Center, and Chief Scientist of the biotech company Matricelf, <a href="https://english.tau.ac.il/research/engineered-spinal-cord">explained</a>.
He continued:

The spinal cord is made up of nerve cells that transmit electrical signals from the brain to every part of the body. When the spinal cord is torn due to trauma — from a car accident, a fall, or a battlefield injury — this chain is broken. Think of it like an electrical cable that’s been cut: if the two parts don’t touch, the electrical signal can’t pass. The cable won’t carry electricity, and in the same way, the person can’t transmit the signal beyond the site of the injury.
Neurons are cells that do not divide and do not renew themselves. They are not like skin cells, which can repair themselves after injury. They are more similar to heart cells: once damage occurs, the body cannot restore them.

“At the end of the process, we don’t just turn the cells into motor neurons — because cells alone won’t help us — but into three-dimensional tissue: neuronal networks of the spinal cord,” he said. “After about a month, we obtain a 3D implant with many neurons that transmit electrical signals. These 3D tissues are then implanted into the damaged area.”

“About six months ago we received preliminary approval to begin compassionate-use trials with eight patients,” Dvir recalled. “We decided, of course, that the first patient would be Israeli. This is undoubtedly a matter of national pride. The technology was developed here in Israel, at Tel Aviv University and at Matricelf, and from the very beginning it was clear to us that the first-ever surgery would be performed in Israel, with an Israeli patient.”
The first implant should happen within a year. “Once we prove that the treatment works — everything is open, and we’ll be able to treat any injury,” says Prof. Dvir.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Tuesday that his department is canceling 22 mRNA vaccine development contracts, totaling about $500 million.
Kennedy said mRNA vaccines, including the most widely used COVID-19 immunizations, have been ineffective, so his department is instead shifting this funding toward &#8220;safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate.”
&#8220;After reviewing the science, and consulting top experts at [National Institutes of Health] and [Food and Drug Administration], HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risks than benefits for these respiratory viruses,&#8221; RFK said in a video posted to X.
Kennedy said that mRNA vaccines used during the pandemic &#8220;only code for a small part of the viral protein, usually a single antigen.&#8221;
&#8220;One mutation, and the vaccine becomes ineffective,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This dynamic drives a phenomenon called antigenic shift, meaning that the vaccine paradoxically encourages new mutations and can actually prolong pandemics as the virus constantly mutates to escape the protective effects of the vaccine.&#8221;
Millions of people, RFK noted, caught the Omicron variant, despite being vaccinated. This is due to the nature of the mRNA vaccines. &#8220;A single mutation can make mRNA vaccines ineffective,&#8221; the secretary emphasized.

A pre-born life frozen since 1994 has finally been welcomed into the world, in what is believed to be the oldest embryo ever brought to birth.
Tim and Lindsey Pierce utilized embryo adoption to grow their family, per the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/baby-embryo-30-year-birth-ohio-129926d4456dcba4781f155898aca7d8">Associated Press</a>. The Ohio-based couple is part of a small movement of people who focus on frozen embryos currently suspended in time.
For many Christians who believe life begins at conception, it is unthinkable to “dispose of” these fully unique human persons even at their very early stages of development. But embryo adoption remains an underutilized option, especially considering estimates that more than 1.5 million frozen embryos are currently being stored in the United States today.
The Pierces adopted the frozen embryo from Linda Archerd, 62. 
She said she had four frozen embryos after undergoing an IVF procedure more than 30 years ago and gave birth to one daughter. But then she and her husband divorced, stalling her plans to expand her family further. Still, Archerd thought about her embryos and believed they deserved a chance at life, too.
“I felt all along that these three little hopes, these little embryos, deserved to live just like my daughter did,” Archerd told AP.
She found the Pierces through an embryo adoption agency. One embryo did not survive the thaw, Archerd told the outlet. Two embryos were transferred, but only one implanted, resulting in the live birth of one little boy on Saturday.
The biological mother of the donated embryos said she looks forward to meeting her son, named Thaddeus Daniel Pierce, which was one of the stipulations she put forth for the adoption.
Archerd said she already sees the family resemblance. “The first thing that I noticed when Lindsey sent me his pictures is how much he looks like my daughter when she was a baby,” Archerd said. “I pulled out my baby book and compared them side by side and there is no doubt that they are siblings.”
“I’d love to meet them some day,” she said. “That would be a dream come true to meet — meet them and the baby.”

“The baby has a 30-year-old sister,” she said. The outlet also noted that she and her husband, Tim, who are 34 and 35 respectively, were only toddlers when their future son was conceived.
“We thought it was wild,” Lindsey said. “We didn’t know they froze embryos that long ago.”
“We didn’t go into it thinking we would break any records. We just wanted to have a baby,” she added, noting how her family thinks the whole thing is “like something from a sci-fi movie.”

Scientists at the University of Florida in Gainesville are developing a universal cancer vaccine designed to target cancer cells already forming in the body. The vaccine could be especially effective against some of the deadliest cancers, including pancreatic and ovarian cancer.
The problem in the past has been that because cancers tend to be specific to each person, a cancer vaccine would have to be tailored for that specific individual rather than a one-size-fits-all vaccine, and in the time spent to create a personal vaccine, the cancer could mutate.
“It can be months from the time you get a patient&#8217;s specimen to when they actually have a personalized therapy,” study senior author and pediatric oncologist Dr. Elias Sayour said, as Live Science <a href="https://www.livescience.com/health/cancer/universal-cancer-vaccine-heading-to-human-trials-could-be-useful-for-all-forms-of-cancer">reports</a>. “The idea that something could be available immediately, albeit in a nonspecific way … could be revolutionary for how we bridge therapy and how we manage patients.”

The experimental vaccine is built on mRNA that triggers cells to produce new proteins, and hopes to strengthen the body to create more type-I interferons, which can locate cancerous tumors.
Sayour explained that cancer can impede interferon signals and block anti-cancer immune responses, so the experimental vaccine could catalyze an immune “reset.”
“I personally think this can be used for all forms of cancer,” Sayour stated. “I believe this is a universal paradigm that can be used to treat cancer,” adding that the vaccine could stop a relapse of the cancer after remission.
“This exciting and novel paper shows promising evidence that giving the immune system a short, targeted boost at just the right time can help previously unresponsive tumors respond to immunotherapy,&#8221; Diana Azzam, from the Center for Advancing Personalized Cancer Treatments at Florida International University, said. “This approach could be especially helpful for ‘cold’ tumors — types of cancer that usually don&#8217;t trigger a strong immune response, like pancreatic, ovarian, and some types of breast cancer.”

A child born in Iowa is celebrating his first birthday and was declared the youngest premature baby ever by Guinness World Records. 
Nash Keen weighed just 10 ounces, about the same as a bar of soap, when he entered the world at 21 weeks of gestation on July 5, 2024. The formerly tiny newborn, nicknamed “Nash Potato,” is now thriving and hitting milestones after spending six months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital, per the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/premature-birth-guinness-world-record-22d4092b92af131a3efeea96aeb120e3">Associated Press</a>. 
“Nash is so full of personality,” his mom Mollie Keen told the outlet. “He’s a happy baby.” 
“Being in the NICU as long as he was, you’d think that he would be, you know, more fragile and stuff,” she added. “And he’s not. He’s a very determined, curious little boy, and he’s just all smiles all the time.”
Upon reaching his first birthday, Guinness World Records declared Nash the world’s most premature baby, beating out the organization’s previous record holder, born in 2020 in Alabama, by a single day.

Guinness World Records named Nash the world’s most premature baby after he reached his first birthday. The previous record holder was born in Alabama and was older than Nash by just one day.

Mollie reportedly said that she had a previous miscarriage and was concerned she would also lose Nash when she went into preterm labor. However, she and her husband, Randall, discovered that the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital was capable of caring for extremely premature babies.
“One of the things I noticed about the medical team is that they were very calm,” she told AP of the staff there. “You never really saw them, like, get anxious or anything. And so we kind of just learned to, like, watch them. If the doctors and the nurses weren’t freaking out, there was no reason for us to freak out.”
“We wanted to give Nash a chance,” Molly told Guinness World Records during an interview.
Despite being born so early and therefore being at risk for a slew of medical complications, Nash is developing in what his doctor says is the best outcome possible for him.
Although he is still on oxygen and using a feeding tube, his parents plan to introduce solid food soon. He is rolling over, and they hope he’ll crawl soon, too. 
“He’s truly the best thing to ever happen to us,” Mollie said.
The Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion organization, “<a href="https://www.guttmacher.org/node/26263/printable/print">updated</a>” its definition of viability in August 2022, stating, “A fetus generally reaches viability between 24 and 28 weeks LMP (gestational age).”
This definition is out of date, considering the increasing number of cases like Nash’s, where very premature newborns survive and thrive. These kinds of cases prove that viability is not a fixed gestational point in time, and more broadly, does not determine the humanity of an unborn baby.

FDA Commissioner Marty Makary has committed to reviewing the abortion pill&#8217;s safety, according to Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO).
Hawley posted a letter he received from Makary on social media, noting the FDA head promised to review the safety of mifepristone, the popular abortion drug.

The two-pill chemical abortion regimen — mifepristone, usually followed by misoprostol — aims to end the life of the unborn baby and expel it from the woman’s uterus. However, the drugs sometimes fail to expel all the fetal tissue, which can cause life-threatening complications.
An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abortion-pill-22-times-more-dangerous-than-fda-claimed-new-study-says?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Abortion+Pill+22+Times+More+Dangerous+Than+FDA+Claimed%2C+New+Study+Says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">analysis</a> released in April found that more than one in 10 women experienced a “serious adverse event” after taking the mifepristone abortion pill in 2023. This can include hemorrhaging, needing a blood transfusion, an emergency room visit, and even deadly conditions like sepsis.
That is about 22 times higher than what the FDA listed on its label for the brand Mifeprex in 2023. The FDA <a href="https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2023/020687Orig1s025Lbl.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited</a> clinical studies saying less than 0.5% of women suffered “serious adverse reactions” to mifepristone.

Last month, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., head of the Department of Health and Human Services, told lawmakers he had requested the FDA do a “complete review” of the abortion pill in the wake of the new data.
“It’s alarming,” RFK Jr. told Hawley during a Senate committee hearing.
“Clearly, it indicates that at the very least the label should be changed,” he said. “I’ve asked Marty Makary, who’s the director of the FDA, to do a complete review and to report back.”
A few months before Roe v. Wade was overturned, the FDA scrapped the requirement that women must obtain abortion pills in person from a healthcare provider, allowing them to get them online through the mail.

On the latest episode of “Michael &amp; …” Daily Wire host Michael Knowles sits down with Dr. Andrew Wakefield, a highly-controversial figure who has called for more research into the safety of vaccinations, especially the Measle, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccination, which is typically given to children around 12-15 months of age.
Wakefield has been stripped of his medical license and accused of being a fraudster, allegedly falsely claiming in a 1998 study that the MMR vaccine causes autism in children and sparking a dangerous anti-vaccine movement.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/andy-wakefield-member-exclusive?elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+Show+Episodes+Carousel">Speaking to Knowles</a>, however, Wakefield said that study, which focused on children whose parents thought their child was vaccine-injured, never made such a claim.
“This was a case series just reporting what the parents had told us, what the doctors had told us, who referred them, and what we found on the clinical investigation,” Wakefield says. “We could not leave out the parents&#8217; reference to the MMR [vaccine]. But we said at the conclusion of the study, this study does not prove an association, let alone a causal association with the MMR vaccine.”
“So hold on, hold on,” Knowles interjects. “This is the part that&#8217;s the craziest in the story to me.”
“You are blamed for creating vaccine skepticism. You are blamed for measles outbreaks. You are blamed and called a terrible fraudster and a horrible practitioner of medicine because you said in your 1998 study that the MMR vaccine causes autism. Except you didn&#8217;t say that?”
“Quite the opposite,” Wakefield says. “And we said what we do need is further research into this matter. And that was it. And, the study was really a report of bowel disease [symptoms] in combination with this regressive developmental disorder.”
Knowles then asks Wakefield if he believes the MMR vaccine causes autism.
“Does this vaccine cause autism? Are you willing to say, ‘Yes, it does?&#8217;” Knowles asks. “Or do you say, ‘Look, I just think this should be investigated, as I said in my 1998 study.’ And how concerned should parents be?”
“I wouldn&#8217;t change my position,” Wakefield says. “In my personal belief, there is a very strong indication that it causes autism. But that&#8217;s not good enough. You don&#8217;t make public policy based on Andy Wakefield&#8217;s belief — it needs the science that we advocated for all those years ago.”
During the discussion, Wakefield says he never retracted his study, and disputes the media’s claim that his colleagues did.
“Nine of my colleagues were persuaded to sign the retraction of an interpretation — the interpretation being that the MMR vaccine causes autism,” Wakefield says. “I said, we never made that claim. How can you retract something that doesn&#8217;t exist?”
“You know, they were under pressure,” he says of his colleagues. “I don&#8217;t judge them, but they fell in line and did that.”
Wakefield and two other colleagues “just refused to do that,” he says. “It was a retraction of an interpretation that was never made. And that&#8217;s the truth behind it.”
Knowles also asks Wakefield about a number of accusations made against him.
“So they accused you of misconduct in the methods of the study,” Knowles said. “They accused you of taking money from other interests — they had this whole litany of accusations in the popular media. Was there any truth to the allegations?”
“The lawyers had come to me at some point during this, the conduct of this work, not the research, not the Lancet paper, and I had agreed,” Wakefield says. “This is very common practice to undertake a study to determine whether there was a link between the vaccine.”
“People work for both defendants and for plaintiffs in medical litigation,” he continues. “But I was singled out as, ‘Oh, Wakefield was doing this to undermine the MMR vaccine and launch his own vaccine onto the market and make a fortune.’”
Wakefield says he disclosed that he was working on behalf of these children in litigation, as was proper protocol, despite accusations that he did not.
“It&#8217;s totally transparent, but the allegation was that it was a cover-up, that…was all a big secret,” he says. “No, it wasn&#8217;t…but what do you do about that when you don&#8217;t control the editorial you write?”
During the lengthy discussion, Wakefield also gives his thoughts on separating out the MMR vaccine, delaying the shot on the vaccination schedule, his film “Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe,” his ties to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and much more.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., head of the Department of Health and Human Services, told lawmakers on Wednesday that he has requested the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) do a &#8220;complete review&#8221; of the abortion pill.
The announcement was welcomed by pro-life conservatives, who previously wondered how RFK Jr., a former Democrat, would respond to abortion-related issues, having previously said that while he believes every abortion is a “tragedy,” the issue is “more nuanced and complex.”
During Wednesday&#8217;s Senate committee hearing, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) asked RFK Jr. if he was aware of a new analysis from the Ethics &amp; Public Policy Center indicating that mifepristone is many times more dangerous than the FDA says on the label for the abortion pill, and he said he was.
&#8220;It&#8217;s alarming,&#8221; RFK Jr. told Hawley.
&#8220;Clearly, it indicates that at the very least the label should be changed,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve asked Marty Makary, who&#8217;s the director of the FDA, to do a complete review and to report back.&#8221;
RFK Jr. also said that he did not yet have a sense of the timeline of the review.

An <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/abortion-pill-22-times-more-dangerous-than-fda-claimed-new-study-says?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Abortion+Pill+22+Times+More+Dangerous+Than+FDA+Claimed%2C+New+Study+Says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">analysis</a> released last month found that more than one in 10 women experienced a “serious adverse event” after taking the mifepristone abortion pill in 2023. This can include hemorrhaging, needing a blood transfusion, an emergency room visit, and even deadly conditions like sepsis.
That is about 22 times higher than what the FDA listed on its label for the brand Mifeprex in 2023. The FDA <a href="https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2023/020687Orig1s025Lbl.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cited</a> clinical studies saying less than 0.5% of women suffered “serious adverse reactions” to mifepristone.
Meanwhile, more than one in 20 women need a second abortion attempt after the abortion pill fails, another analysis of insurance claim data <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-than-1-in-20-women-need-second-abortion-attempt-after-abortion-pill-fails?author=Mairead+Elordi&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=More+Than+1+in+20+Women+Need+Second+Abortion+Attempt+After+Abortion+Pill+Fails" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> this week showed.
&#8220;We&#8217;re very thankful for this announcement from Secretary Kennedy. We encourage the FDA to conduct its own study to best ensure that women are given an honest and clear presentation of the dangers of the abortion pill,&#8221; Ryan Anderson, President of the Ethics and Public Policy Center and one of the authors of the analysis told The Daily Wire.
The two-pill chemical abortion regimen — mifepristone, usually followed by misoprostol — aims to end the life of the unborn baby and expel it from the woman’s uterus. However, the drugs sometimes fail to expel all the fetal tissue, which can cause life-threatening complications.
A few months before Roe v. Wade was overturned, the FDA scrapped the requirement that women must obtain abortion pills in person from a healthcare provider, allowing them to get them online through the mail.
“We applaud Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his swift directive to FDA for a thorough study of the dangerous chemical abortion pill,” Doug Truax, founder of Foundation for the Restoration of America, which put out another report on the abortion pill&#8217;s &#8220;serious adverse events&#8221; told The Daily Wire.
“The health and safety of women is at risk and we can’t allow ideology to trump science,” Truax said.
Last year, Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ben-shapiro-challenges-rfk-jr-on-abortion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">challenged</a> Kennedy Jr. on abortion during an interview, telling him that abortion is “not just a tragedy. It’s a crime against the child because the child has an independent interest. What do you say to that?”
“I say that I understand that position, and I don’t agree with it,” Kennedy responded, adding that he believes “the solution of having the state come in and dictate choices that a woman is making is not a good solution.”
RFK Jr. appeared before both Senate and House committees on Wednesday to defend President Donald Trump&#8217;s proposed budget cuts to the HHS, which RFK Jr. <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/14/us/politics/rfk-jr-hhs-overhaul-hearing.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> would be &#8220;painful&#8221; but would save money “without impacting critical services.”
