Avowed leftist Mark Ruffalo is at it again, claiming that “billionaires” are the real problem while immigrants contribute nothing but hard work and prosperity to the country.
The 57-year-old “Avengers” actor spoke on the topic while attending one of several “No Kings” protest rallies that took place over the weekend. A video of his rant began circulating on social media.
Ruffalo said in the video that “immigrants aren’t the criminals,” claiming they “add to our economy by the billions.” He also said white people commit “most of the crimes” in society.
The actor said billionaires are “the true villains,” and the ones who are “really making our lives unbearable and making us so desperate.”

Many social media commenters called out the Hulk actor for his comments, pointing out how immigrants who came here illegally are technically criminals.
“How is he that rich but also that stupid?” one person <a href="https://x.com/Neko_Tet/status/1935332215904419879">wondered</a>.
“This does prove what a great actor he is. Mark can play the brilliant Bruce Banner despite his extremely limited grasp on reality and logic,” another <a href="https://x.com/TheMuppetPastor/status/1935310936866160888">said</a>. 
“I think he took one too many headshots from Thanos,” another commenter <a href="https://x.com/RevAdamTBarr/status/1934963585169371364">joked</a>.
Several days ago, the actor went off on President Trump and ICE enforcement in another social media post, Variety <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/news/mark-ruffalo-slams-billionaires-donald-trump-grifter-1236435124/">reported</a>.
“You want to get rid of the people who are picking your food, without a care in the world for who is poisoning your bodies with chemicals that aren’t ever meant to be in nature. You want to drive out those who make your life easier but not question those who dull your minds with lies and disinformation meant to confuse you and destroy brotherly and sisterly love for us here? You&#8217;re pointing your guns in the wrong direction,” he wrote in the lengthy screed.
“The president is a grifter,” Ruffalo continued. “His family is raking it in with their bitcoin con, the dopey tech billionaire takes your tax money to make himself richer than any person in the history of mankind with his pipe dream of living on Mars, while you starve, while you worry, while he gleefully lets people with AIDS, people suffering famine, or persecution or political danger silently die. He fires your family members, and stops cancer research to help cure the ones you love.”

Stars who have slammed President Donald Trump are now asking the president for help with artificial intelligence copyright protections as Hollywood battles with the impact of AI on the entertainment industry.
Mark Ruffalo, Bette Midler, Ava DuVernay, and more actors have signed a letter to President Trump asking him to hold the line against tech companies who they said have pushed to “weaken copyright” rules, <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/03/trump-ai-hollywood-response-copyright-1236329205/">Deadline</a> noted.
“We firmly believe that America’s global AI leadership must not come at the expense of our essential creative industries,” the group wrote the White House Office of Science and Technology in an open letter.
“America’s arts and entertainment industry supports over 2.3M American jobs with over $229Bn in wages annually, while providing the foundation for American democratic influence and soft power abroad,” it added. “But AI companies are asking to undermine this economic and cultural strength by weakening copyright protections for the films, television series, artworks, writing, music, and voices used to train AI models at the core of multi-billion dollar corporate valuations.”

“For nearly 250 years, U.S. copyright law has balanced [a] creator’s rights with the needs of the public, creating the world’s most vibrant creative economy,” the letter continued. “We recommend that the American AI Action Plan uphold existing copyright frameworks to maintain the strength of America’s creative and knowledge industries, as well as American cultural influence abroad.”
In addition to Ruffalo, Midler, and DuVernay, Ben Stiller, Cate Blanchett, Judd Apatow, Taika Waititi, Natasha Lyonne, Paul McCartney, Lily Gladstone, and Patton Oswalt joined a list of more than 400 people in the entertainment industry who have called on Trump’s administration because they claim OpenAI and Google “are arguing for a special government exemption so they can freely exploit America’s creative and knowledge industries, despite their substantial revenues and available funds.&#8221;
&#8220;AI companies can use our copy-righted material by simply doing what the law requires – negotiating appropriate licenses with copyright holders, just as every other industry does,&#8221; the letter read. &#8220;This issue goes well beyond the entertainment industry, as the right to train AI on all copyright-protected content impacts all of America’s knowledge industries.&#8221;
<a href="https://www.aol.com/actor-mark-ruffalo-dubs-trump-025802346.html">Ruffalo</a> has been an outspoken critic of the president, labeling him once an “enemy of America” in response to an op-ed in The New York Times that claimed Trump was a threat to democracy.
“F***ing finally. Media starts to wake up…” Ruffalo wrote. “Presidential contender is calling for Americans to kill and harm Americans. Let that sink in. Enemy of America from within.”
Frequent Trump critic Midler previously <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-bette-midler-social-media-1890734">shared a post</a> on X from a writer who labeled Trump “a troll,&#8221; who has &#8220;no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth.” She captioned the post, noting how “brilliant” the writer was.
Following the 2024 election, director DuVernay blasted Trump’s re-election in spite of the criminal charges he faced, <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/12/ava-duvernay-donald-trump-re-election-origin-release-marrakech-1236190812/">Deadline</a> noted.
“My country is run by criminals, but that criminality is seen as completely different than a black kid on the corner who might buy, sell marijuana,” the actress said. “The black kid is in prison for years, while criminals are elected and make millions of dollars and sell electric cars.”

The newest cringe <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kamala-harris">Kamala Harris</a> endorsement ad comes courtesy of some stars of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/marvel">Marvel</a> film, “Avengers: Endgame.” The staged phone call between the actors was posted to leftist activist Mark Ruffalo’s X page on Thursday.
Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle, and Paul Bettany participated in the project.
&#8220;We&#8217;re back. Let&#8217;s #AssembleForDemocracy. In the #ElectionEndgame, every <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/2024-election">vote</a> counts,&#8221; Ruffalo wrote in the post caption. 
“Don’t sit this one out. By the end of the video, their suggested slogan had been revised to, &#8220;I’m Kamala Harris, and I am down with democracy.&#8221;
The social media mockery of the new ad was swift and fierce.
“Um, a little too much honesty here… Kamala Harris ‘tearing down democracy!’” Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz <a href="https://x.com/tedcruz/status/1852148187760410757">posted</a> on X.
“I believe we can safely say Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the Hollywood douchenozzle vote,” another reaction <a href="https://x.com/CarmineSabia/status/1852116791947927844">said</a>. 
This isn’t the first time these stars participated in a video supporting the Democratic candidate for president. In 2016, Downey Jr., Johansson, Ruffalo, and Cheadle joined other celebrities in an ad <a href="https://youtu.be/nRp1CK_X_Yw">attacking Donald Trump</a>. 
In that video, Cheadle described Trump as a &#8220;racist, abusive coward who could permanently damage the fabric of our society.&#8221;

Actor Mark Ruffalo took some backlash for a Sunday post suggesting that an Israeli military operation — which resulted in the rescue of four hostages held by Hamas terrorists since October 7th — was not worth it because of the number of Palestinian civilians who were supposedly killed.
Ruffalo, who took on the role of the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, repeated the number of casualties declared by the Hamas-controlled <a href="https://x.com/sentdefender/status/1799510443737624662" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gaza officials</a> and suggested that it was not an even exchange for just four of the remaining hostages.
&#8220;It’s so good to see the hostages returned,&#8221; Ruffalo began, but pivoted immediately. &#8220;A ceasefire would have gotten many more hostages back and no civilians and children killed. This siege is cruel and senseless. Grinding innocent human beings and their culture into blood soaked rubble and dust, to be buried and forgotten. 4 for 274 including kids. It’s a sinful equation that keeps repeating.&#8221;
Critics quickly pointed out to Ruffalo that the hostages were not &#8220;returned,&#8221; they were rescued — and one noted that there was a very simple way to avoid any civilian casualties in the future.

Hulk Actor Smashed For Complaining That People Died During Israeli Hostage Rescue Mission

&#8220;The Avengers&#8221; actor Mark Ruffalo took aim at the Supreme Court on Saturday, claiming that recent decisions had proven it is a &#8220;right-wing ideological political institution&#8221; and demanding that the legislative and executive branches act to control it.
Ruffalo delivered his message in a couple of tweets, responding to a HuffPost article that accused the current Court of effectively &#8220;rolling back the 20th century.&#8221; The article highlighted several recent decisions the author viewed as regressive — namely, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/report-at-least-10000-fewer-legal-abortions-have-occurred-since-overturn-of-roe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dobbs decision</a> overturning Roe v. Wade, the decision axing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whoopi-blows-up-over-affirmative-action-ruling-why-do-you-fear-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">affirmative action</a> in the college admissions process, the decision that killed Biden&#8217;s student loan forgiveness program, and the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gorsuch-lambasts-sotomayors-dissent-in-christian-web-designer-ruling-opens-fire-on-its-own-position" target="_blank" rel="noopener">303 Creative</a> decision that came down last week.
&#8220;Okay. So we all understand that the Supreme Court has become a right-wing ideological political institution under Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Barrett, Kavanaugh, &amp; Roberts,&#8221; Ruffalo declared. &#8220;They&#8217;re for sale &amp; illegitimate. Now, we have to beat them in the executive branch &amp; the legislature.&#8221;

But not everyone was sure Ruffalo had the right idea. Critics quickly responded to his tweets, reminding him that he had not had a problem with a left-leaning court that delivered decisions he agreed with.

&#8220;Sounds awful sedition-y there, kiddo, to say a co-equal branch of government is illegitimate,&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/shoveitjack/status/1675281002850136066" target="_blank" rel="noopener">another tweeted</a>. &#8220;It would be a lot easier for you to just say you are throwing a tantrum because you don&#8217;t like the Constitution.&#8221;
&#8220;Guy who gets paid tens of millions to be a CGI voice over would like to school the peasants on the glorious future that socialism will create for us. He keeps his money of course. Ruffalo quoted an <a href="https://screenrant.com/she-hulk-review-bombing-imdb-ratings-problem/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> in ScreenRant that claimed the abundance of bad reviews posted on IMDB arose because of the reviewers’ misogyny or racism.
“The rise in bad-faith IMDb reviews, particularly for projects led by women and/or BIPOC, threatens to render the site’s scores meaningless if the problem is not addressed,” the article stated and Ruffalo quoted.

Actor Mark Ruffalo is outspoken on political issues, especially climate change. Now he’s saying Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could be a good catalyst for advancing President Biden’s climate-focused initiatives, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/mark-ruffalo-calls-ukraine-war-gift-president-bidens-climate-change-agenda">reported</a>. He even called the war a &#8220;gift&#8221; for the movement.
The “13 Going On 30” star made the remarks during an episode of MSNBC Reports. “How do you fight against the advocacy groups out of there, the dark money groups out of there, that are out there that fight against climate change?&#8221; host Katy Tur inquired of the panel, which included Ruffalo.
&#8220;I mean, the Koch brothers, there’s all sorts of dark money that has stopped solar energy in Arizona. Arizona, which has the most sunlight,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;So, how do you, with this campaign, cut through the mis and disinformation?&#8221;
Ruffalo pushed for renewable energy no matter who supported it or how complicated it was to instate. 
&#8220;On the Koch brothers. Yeah, there is the dark money and that’s definitively an issue, but when you look at how quickly we are actually moving on this transition, when you look at how many jobs it&#8217;s created; it doesn&#8217;t matter what the Koch brothers say or do,” Ruffalo said. &#8220;At the end of the day, we are going to win and we are going to transition over.&#8221; 
&#8220;Are we going to do it in a graceful way or are we gonna do it … kicking and screaming?&#8221; the actor continued.
Next, Ruffalo said the conflict in Ukraine was a “gift” for Biden because he could use the public’s emotions to advance legislation that was focused on combating climate change.
“This is a moment for President Biden to take this, our momentum, people&#8217;s fear, their disgust of the war, their disgust with energy prices and&#8211;and use that to solidify a message to the American people that now is the time to transition,” the activist actor said.

The “Now You See Me” actor isn’t pleased with everyone using global events their benefit, however. On Monday, Ruffalo tweeted his response to an article detailing how gas prices increased to over $4/gallon since 2020 and company executives retained their high salaries.

A group of A-list celebrities recently signed a letter to City National’s parent company, the Royal Bank of Canada, demanding that they defund the Canada Gas pipeline. 
According to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/mark-ruffalo-leonardo-dicaprio-ben-stiller-letter-protest-canada-gas-pipeline">Fox News</a>, the open letter pleads with the Royal Bank of Canada to &#8220;withdraw support from the Coastal GasLink pipeline, effective immediately&#8221; because they are “bankrolling the climate crisis and violating the rights of Indigenous Peoples.&#8221;
The signatures include more than 65 famous names. Mark Ruffalo, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Stiller, Scarlett Johansson, Taika Waititi, Jane Fonda, Susan Sarandon, and Robert Downey Jr., Josh Gad, Mariska Hargitay, Rooney Mara, Julianne Moore, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Schumer, and Marisa Tomei are among those asking for the bank to withdraw financial support.
When asked why celebrities were speaking on this, Ruffalo said it was because they have a platform and “people listen to us,” <a href="https://globalnews.ca/news/8687345/hollywood-celebrities-mark-ruffalo-leonardo-dicaprio-rbc-coastal-gaslink-bc/">according to</a> Canadian news site Global News.
He continued, “We have this privilege and we have to use it for the right thing. None of this matters if our children can’t drink the water, they can’t breathe the air, they can’t go outside, the world burns around them. None of this means anything anymore. We’re becoming desensitized to this insanity that we’re living in.”
The actor is known for taking stances on climate change issues specifically. 
“We have a responsibility to each other,” Ruffalo explained during a press conference Wednesday. “And it’s time for good people and privileged people, like us, to do the right thing. To make other people, good people, uncomfortable. That’s the only way we’re going to break through this system of racism and harm.”
Several of those celebrities headed to social media, urging their fans to join in the fight against the pipeline. They used the hashtag #NoMoreDirtyBanks with their posts.
Ruffalo posted a video to YouTube explaining his stance.

Ruffalo continued, &#8220;The Supreme Court of Canada recognized Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs as rightful title holders of the land, but corporations still get away with consulting only ‘elected leadership’ put in place by the colonial government.&#8221;

Actor Mark Ruffalo was hit with a backlash on social media when he honored Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, who were fatally shot while attacking teenager Kyle Rittenhouse last year.
Ruffalo slammed a &#8220;racist system that devalues Black lives&#8221; when honoring Huber and Rosenbaum, whom the &#8220;Avengers&#8221; star referred to as &#8220;JoJo.&#8221; Rosenbaum was charged with child sex crimes of boys, ranging from ages 9-11 years old, and ultimately was sentenced to ten years in prison in a plea deal. 
Notably, Huber, Rosenbaum, and Rittenhouse are all white. Moreover, Rosenbaum is on video repeatedly shouting the N-word while at the riot in Kenosha.

Left-wing fact-checking site Snopes has <a href="https://www.snopes.com/news/2020/09/11/rittenhouse-victims-records/">confirmed</a> Rosenbaum’s sex child crimes:
<blockquote>For example, yes, at age 19, Rosenbaum was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing five children — all boys between the ages of 9 and 11 — in Arizona’s Pima County in early 2002, according to his case file obtained via a public records request by Snopes.
The documents said Rosenbaum was temporarily living with the boys’ parents after his mother had kicked him out for disobeying her rules about one month earlier. Over the course of his weeks-long stay, Rosenbaum molested the boys, showed them porn, and performed oral sex on them, among other offenses, the documents showed. He was sentenced to prison for roughly 15 years, and authorities believed at the time “his risk to recidivate being of great concern to the community” considering the victims’ gender and age. (Let us note here: The records included an interview with Rosenbaum in which he said his stepfather sexually abused him and his brother on an almost daily basis when he was a preteen.)
Considering that evidence, the claim that Rosenbaum at one point was convicted of sexually abusing at least one child before his death was true.</blockquote>
