Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney is calling for an intrusive investigation into the holdout juror who refused to find the Massachusetts mother not guilty in the deaths of her three children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.
In a new motion <a href="https://www.boston.com/news/crime/2026/09/21/lindsay-clancy-lawyer-juror-doe-domestic-violence-cellphone/">filed</a> Friday, attorney Kevin Reddington urged a judge to preserve records from all 12 jurors, including juror questionnaires, surveillance video recorded outside the deliberation room, and sign-in sheets for the jurors’ electronic devices, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/lindsay-clancy-defense-demands-investigation-holdout-juror-blocked-not-guilty-verdict">according to Fox News.</a>
Reddington is also honing in on 48-year-old Michael P. Desronvil — the Haitian man who refused to go along with nine women and two other men to find Clancy not criminally responsible for killing her children. 
One vote away from victory, Reddington is now seeking personal information about Desronvil, including his juror questionnaire, probation records, and any record from the statewide domestic violence registry. Reddington’s unusual request also asked the judge to probe whether prosecutors had any contact with the juror and to order an &#8220;independent examination” into his phone records from each day of deliberations, Fox News reported.

“I can now confirm that I am representing the courageous and heroic lone holdout juror from the Lindsay Clancy Trial. He is an American Hero and Champion of Justice,” Paltzik <a href="https://x.com/EdPaltzik/status/2100711456287174755?s=20">said</a>. “Please pray for him and help us protect him.”
He added Desronvil is “safe and sound” at an undisclosed secure location in rural Northern New England, vowing legal retaliation for what he called the “evil people” who have attacked this “American hero.” 
“In the meantime, though, he has persevered and remains utterly unbroken thanks to his devout Catholic Faith. As a devoted father and man of God, he will not be defeated or shattered by the wicked who wish harm upon him,” Paltzik said of the holdout juror.
The deadlocked 11-1 jury was dismissed after 39 hours of deliberations. Since the mistrial, other jurors have publicly criticized Desronvil for being “arrogant” and disengaged. Desronvil disputed those accounts in a statement to the media, insisting he repeatedly tried to explain alternative theories but was “cut off” by other jurors.
“I didn’t have any doubts,” Desronvil <a href="https://x.com/BrianEntin/status/2100734698850849003?s=20">said</a>. “Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she knew exactly what she was doing and planned.”
Desronvil has also faced scrutiny over allegations involving his personal life, including a previously dismissed domestic violence charge and a restraining order. He has never been convicted of a crime, but the defense will likely argue Desronvil shouldn&#8217;t have been seated on the panel. Crickets. That&#8217;s what we&#8217;re hearing from the pro-Clancy party of girl power.
The social media sleuths, peevish personalities, and malcontent mothers who spent the summer deriding, denouncing, and dragging a grieving father don&#8217;t know what to do with themselves now, at the release of the &#8220;60 Minutes&#8221; episode between Patrick Clancy, the man whose wife murdered their three children with exercise bands, and Ross Douthat.
These female freedom fighters spent the entire summer tearing apart a man whose only crime was leaving the house on that fateful, frigid January day in 2023. Now they&#8217;re having to reckon with reality. Lindsay Clancy is seemingly soulless. Patrick is heartbroken, a hollowed-out man, and yet he forgives her.
The most telling <a href="https://x.com/60Minutes/status/2101812618679800102">moment</a> came when Douthat asked whether Patrick&#8217;s ex-wife had ever asked for forgiveness, after she violently strangled each of their children to death, holding on for at least four minutes each time. Patrick sat with the question a moment, his eyes drifting off, something like incredulity flickering across his face, as though he hadn&#8217;t yet considered that, while he forgave her, she had never once acted contrite or sought his pardon. He shook his head with a gallows-worn weariness and breathed out: &#8220;No. But I gave it to her.&#8221;
Lindsay, when confronted by the husband she robbed of three innocent souls, never showed remorse. She never said she was sorry for shattering his solar system. Yet he forgave her anyway. He won&#8217;t condone the names she&#8217;s called online. He defends her legacy as a woman who was incredibly mentally ill, not a &#8220;killer mom.&#8221; Raised Catholic, <a href="https://people.com/who-is-patrick-clancy-lindsay-clancy-12027561">allergic to hostility</a>, he seems, by every available account, simply good.
Certainly not the villain, as our illiberal intelligentsia made him out to be. Though with <a href="https://x.com/DefiantLs/status/2088522075380261269">Mars aligning</a> against his moon sign or whatever, some considered the case closed.
In the four days following the attack and the mother&#8217;s suicide attempt, the youngest child, eight-month-old Callan, was still alive and fighting for his life. Patrick <a href="https://x.com/60Minutes/status/2101823640794702120/video/1">held out hope</a> for the survival of his only remaining child: &#8220;Just give me one. I would give him the best life I possibly could.&#8221; He held Callan, lay beside him, and told him he was sorry. The boy died in his arms. On May 26, 2023, Callan would have turned one. Patrick <a href="https://x.com/60Minutes/status/2101813190841582038/video/1">marked</a> the day at St. Patrick&#8217;s Cathedral in New York City, where he lit a candle, told his &#8220;buddy&#8221; he loved him, and walked out onto Fifth Avenue and cried.
Lindsay knew Callan was alive during those four days too. She never once asked to see him. Instead, she asked if her legs were straight and if she could have an attorney.
Three years later, she&#8217;s been granted a mistrial: not enough jurors voted to convict. Patrick, meanwhile, is learning to live without his children. He keeps the baby sloth Cora carried everywhere, a photo of Callan swallowed by a too-big bow tie, and Dawson&#8217;s cherished toy helicopter. He <a href="https://x.com/60Minutes/status/2101813579104051690/video/1">dreams</a> of his babies constantly. In one dream, Cora walks into the kitchen; he asks where she&#8217;s been, and she wraps him in a hug. He <a href="https://x.com/60Minutes/status/2101813834507747665/video/1">wishes</a> the online frenzy around their deaths would quiet, not for his own sake, but because it steals attention from his children&#8217;s legacy and from the real crisis at the heart of their family&#8217;s collapse: perinatal mental health.
This is the man the internet told you to hate. This is the man who had to be put in an ambulance during his own testimony, after a massive panic attack seized him before the 911 call was played and forced him to relive the worst day of his life. This is the man they called the true murderer.
Set aside, for a moment, Lindsay’s obvious indifference to her children and their well-being in the days following her “mental break” — an indifference that doesn’t help paint the defense’s portrait of a woman in acute psychosis who otherwise was just the sweetest, kindest, most nurturing mother imaginable.
The real takeaway here is that our current media environment has a habit of taking tragedies that are human, delicate, and deeply personal, and warping them until they somehow mold onto our own lives. Everyone is perpetually, personally offended. Every story becomes everyone else&#8217;s story. Nothing is allowed to remain an individual experience, simply too heinous and too hard to comprehend. We feel compelled to label everything, to sort it into one of our tidy little boxes, and to assign blame. &#8220;Same, Lindsay&#8221; became a <a href="https://x.com/ItsAllPoliticss/status/2090192262600794246/video/1">rallying cry </a>not because hundreds of thousands of women have suffered postpartum psychosis, but because women found an online community that makes them feel seen in a dangerously intimate way. It manufactures a false sense of togetherness, one that breeds herd mentality, groupthink, and a sheepish brainwashing that leaves us dumber, more violent, and strangely more forgiving of sin. &#8220;Patrick did it&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/CollinRugg/status/2089464066666610802">caught fire online</a> because that same mob assumes most men are evil, that children are a burden, and that none of us will ever answer for our sins in any afterlife.
We lost religion. We lost respect for one another. Now we&#8217;re losing our minds.
Maybe this interview will remind a few people that the subjects of the week on social media aren&#8217;t fiction. They&#8217;re human. They have very real lives, as we all do, and their tragedy doesn&#8217;t need to become your trend.
Maybe this all traces back to a lesson most of our mothers tried to teach us (or so I thought): mean girls tear others down to feel better about themselves. Stop tearing Patrick down. It won&#8217;t help you, anyone, or anything.

The governor of Massachusetts is promoting a new initiative that would have nurses visit new mothers at home in the days after giving birth.
&#8220;Everybody in the state, when you have a baby, you&#8217;re going to have a home visit within days, weeks, and that will be an opportunity for a healthcare provider to make an assessment to see if you need some additional support and resources,&#8221; Gov. Maura Healey (D) told Boston Public Radio during an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VbsZuVfOjQ&amp;t=1s">interview</a> last week. 
The initiative is part of the state’s plans to expand its <a href="https://www.mass.gov/welcome-family">Welcome Family</a> program. Healey further proposed an additional $250,000 to the existing Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program for Moms, which provides mental health support to providers caring for pregnant and postpartum patients, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/massachusetts-plan-offer-postpartum-screening-home-visits-sparks-online-debate.amp">reported</a>.
The postpartum visits would include screenings for depression and other mental health concerns, which is meant to help identify families who are struggling and may need extra support.
&#8220;To every mom who has struggled with her mental health before, during or after pregnancy, I want you to know we see you — I see you,&#8221; Healey said during a visit to Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, per <a href="https://www.ktvu.com/news/lindsay-clancy-trial-prompts-massachusetts-push-better-postpartum-care">Fox KTVU</a>.
While some commenters supported the idea, others called it “<a href="https://x.com/marcvelitrae/status/2100998516743062006">creepy</a>” and an example of “massive government overreach.”
&#8220;Doctors and pediatricians are more than capable to conduct appropriate screenings for their patients. Say no to home visits,&#8221; one response <a href="https://x.com/ohboyitscrazy/status/2101076362870010223">said</a>. 
“That lunatic can&#8217;t even tell you what a woman is. And she&#8217;s gonna send assessors into your home,” another person <a href="https://x.com/307Apostolic/status/2101833237714878847">chimed in</a>. 
The program is voluntary, as many users have noted, but that doesn’t mean it always will be. The initiative has added more fuel to the debate over mental health services following the dramatic Lindsay Clancy case that dominated headlines for months.
In January 2023, Clancy brought her three young children to the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home and strangled them one by one with exercise bands. She admitted to killing her children, but defense attorney Kevin Reddington argued she was in the throes of postpartum psychosis and suffered a mental break while her husband, Patrick, was out running errands for the family of five.

The 8-month-old was then airlifted to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he remained on life support for several days. Callan died on January 27, 2023, in Patrick’s arms.
&#8220;I&#8217;m so grateful for those four days that I had with him, and I&#8217;m so grateful that he hung on,&#8221; Patrick said.
The father said he spoke to Callan at the hospital, and with tears in his eyes, he revealed that he told Callan he was &#8220;so sorry.&#8221;

The lone male holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy’s triple-murder trial is speaking out for the first time as he faces scorching attacks for refusing to join the 11 jurors who wanted to find the Massachusetts mother not criminally responsible for killing her three young children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan.
Michael P. Desronvil, 48, has been identified as the pro-conviction holdout after a local <a href="https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/lindsay-clancy-holdout-juror-had-history-of-domestic-violence-allegations/4013408/">NBC Boston outlet</a> published a controversial report diving into his personal background, including allegations of domestic violence. In his first statement Thursday, Desronvil blasted claims that he refused to follow the law and took shots at his fellow jurors.
“I didn’t have any doubts,” Desronvil said in a <a href="https://x.com/BrianEntin/status/2100734698850849003?s=20">statement to NewsNation</a>, directly refuting claims he disregarded the law or lied under oath. He then turned the tables on his fellow jurors, describing a hostile panel that refused to hear him out. 
“As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence present,” he added. “Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she knew exactly what she was doing and planned.”

He would have been about 4 years old when his family arrived in the country, the outlet reported.
The juror, who had remained anonymous until now, stood alone during 38 hours of heated deliberations in the trial that captivated and divided the nation. Since the mistrial on September 4, his fellow jurors have hit the media circuit to criticize Desronvil, describing him as “arrogant” and accusing him of refusing to listen to the mostly white women on the jury.
The jury foreperson, identified as an older woman named Roni, described one <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lindsay-clancy-jurors-reveal-what-really-went-down-with-lone-holdout">particularly frustrating moment</a> when she believed the panel had finally reached a breakthrough.
“He had reasonable doubt,” Roni told NBC Boston. “He admitted he had reasonable doubt after we watched that video of the interview.”
Roni said she became so convinced the jury was finally prepared to move forward that she began filling out the required forms with glee.
“I started filling out the forms. I was so excited,” she said. “I actually — there were three forms I had to fill out, and I started filling them out. I wrote my signature on each one.” Shortly thereafter, the jury sent a formal note to the judge deriding the holdout, prompting an unsuccessful attempt from Clancy&#8217;s defense to bounce Desronvil from the panel, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lindsay-clancy-mistrial-put-on-ice-after-defense-hail-mary">The Daily Wire reported</a>. 
Tensions turned personal and public after another female juror revealed on CBS that the holdout was a black man, prompting host Gayle King to gasp and collect her thoughts.

According to the report, the juror was accused by a nephew of grabbing his then-wife by the throat in 2021. The couple divorced after the incident, and the criminal charges against him were later dropped. The restraining order was reportedly taken out by the same nephew, who said the juror punched him and threatened him after he called police about the initial incident.

“Those details raise questions about the jury selection process,” the outlet reported. According to <a href="https://www.mass.gov/info-details/learn-about-juror-eligibility-and-disqualification#who-is-disqualified-from-serving-jury-duty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Massachusetts law</a>, however, the dropped charges <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-lindsay-clancy-jury-rabbit-hole-just-keeps-getting-deeper">would not have kept him off</a> the jury. Only having a felony conviction within the last seven years — or pending felony charges — would have barred the juror from service.
The juror’s brother said those media reports fanned the flames of internet sleuths, who eventually tracked down his family, doxed his identity, and turned their lives upside down.
“My family cannot leave the house,” the brother<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lindsay-clancy-holdout-jurors-brother-reveals-immigrant-twist"> said</a>. “They are leaving notes at my mother’s house. They won’t leave us alone, and we don’t know anything. People have been calling me like crazy. It’s crazy.”

A juror who favored finding Lindsay Clancy not criminally responsible for killing her three children laughed when an interviewer observed that the trial had succeeded in getting people talking about postpartum mental health.
“Lindsay’s decline was so fast,” juror Paula Devlin said in an <a href="https://turnto10.com/news/local/nbc-10-speaks-with-a-juror-from-the-lindsay-clancy-murder-trial-sept-17-2026">interview</a> with NBC 10. “We really thought this was an opportunity to get people talking. That’s all we really thought, get people talking.” 
“Well, they are certainly talking now,” the interviewer replied.
Devlin laughed and answered, “Yes, they are.”
Devlin said the trial could serve as a “stepping stone” to help people better understand what women can experience after giving birth. 
“I think that’s the moment that maybe we started saying out loud, this can really be a stepping stone to have people look at and understand what women go through when they have babies and what postpartum looks like,” she said. “Every person is different. Every person that has ever had it … You try and talk about it in your doctor’s office and they’re like, ‘Try and take a nap when the baby’s sleeping. Try and get some sleep.’”
“It was very clear to us that we were there because Lindsey didn’t get the help that she was asking for so desperately,” Devlin added. 
Devlin said the trial also gave some of the male jurors a new perspective on postpartum mental health.
“Even the guys in the room, you know, one of them had kids and he was even thinking like, ‘Wow, this is what my wife went through?’” she recalled.
Her remarks came after several jurors who favored Clancy&#8217;s insanity defense drew criticism online for publicly discussing their deliberations.
“One of the jurors admits that multiple nurses on the jury used their experience and medical background to ‘explain’ toxicology reports to the holdout juror,” Federalist co-founder and CEO Sean Davis said. “I showed that clip to a trial attorney who immediately saw it as an admission that the pro-Clancy jurors were using outside information and evidence from outside the trial process to bully a juror toward a particular outcome.”
Jurors may draw on their general experience during deliberations, but they are not permitted to introduce outside evidence or effectively act as unsworn expert witnesses.
Another juror expressed disappointment that the jury had failed to acquit Clancy.
“I wish we could have come through for Lindsay,&#8221; the juror <a href="https://x.com/Rachelspeakout1/status/2098198514274586755">said.</a> &#8220;I feel very sad that we couldn’t.”
Clancy strangled her three young children with exercise bands in the basement of the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Her husband returned from running errands to find Clancy outside after she had jumped from a second-story window in a suicide attempt. He then discovered the children in the basement.
Clancy&#8217;s defense did not dispute that she killed the children but argued that postpartum psychosis left her unable to know that her actions were wrong. Prosecutors said that she planned the killings and was criminally responsible.
The trial ended in a mistrial on September 4 after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict. Eleven jurors favored finding Clancy not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility, while one juror favored conviction.

Patrick Clancy is set to appear on &#8220;60 Minutes&#8221; this Sunday, marking the first time he&#8217;s spoken publicly since his now ex-wife Lindsay Clancy&#8217;s triple-murder trial of their three children was declared a mistrial.

Patrick testified for the Commonwealth and was then cross-examined by the defense during the trial in July. The grieving father gave a statement to the media in the days following the killings, but has been otherwise relatively quiet.
Despite his wife&#8217;s admission to the killings and her defense strategy that she killed the kids while suffering from postpartum psychosis, Patrick has been the subject of evidence-free conspiracies from reality stars and internet personalities. In one conspiracy, it&#8217;s suggested that Patrick actually killed the children and then framed Lindsay, whom he somehow deceived into believing she was the one who killed them.
He&#8217;s suffered endless harassment, threats, and ridicule in the wake of his wife killing his children from people online.

Notably, Patrick was the one to find his wife outside their home after she said she tried to kill herself. On a 911 call, a desperate and terrified Patrick is heard going into the home, where he finds his three children&#8217;s dead bodies. The audio of the 911 call has been sealed by the judge at Patrick&#8217;s request, but the transcript has been made public. Jurors in the trial who heard the call, and who thought Lindsay should have been found not criminally responsible by reason of insanity, have publicly said they will never forget the audio they heard.
Lawyers representing Patrick have already <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/lindsay-clancys-lawyer-finally-blows-up-tiktok-conspiracies-surrounding-case">fired a warning shot</a> at influencers and celebrities who have lied about him to their viewers. A statement from attorney Howard Cooper said Patrick has been forced to endure “relentless, escalating, and destructive defamation” as well as “outright falsehoods” and warned that those spreading such claims could face legal consequences.
Patrick&#8217;s decision to do an exclusive interview with &#8220;60 Minutes&#8221; is also noteworthy. The interview is a major get for Bari Weiss, who was named editor-in-chief of CBS News last October. Kevin Reddington says I have never sat in the courtroom where Lindsay Clancy was tried.
He is right.
Neither will Cora, Dawson, or Callan.
That’s the point.
Cora was five. Dawson was three. Callan was eight months old. Their mother, Lindsay Clancy, strangled them to death with exercise bands. The defense did not dispute who killed them or how they were killed.
Reddington argued Clancy should not be held criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis.
Psychosis does not make her children less dead.
The jury could have convicted Clancy of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or manslaughter. It could have acquitted her outright or found her not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility. Instead, it returned no verdict at all.
Eleven jurors reportedly favored the insanity verdict; one held out. Only one held the line.
The result was a mistrial. Not an acquittal.
Due process does not belong exclusively to the defendant. It also requires the state to finish the job, retry the case, and give the Clancy children the full measure of justice the first trial failed to deliver.
I have spoken openly about suffering postpartum depression after my second child. Maternal mental illness is real. It can be terrifying. Mothers need treatment before a crisis, support during one, and serious medical care afterward.
Mental illness is an explanation — it is not an excuse. A diagnosis is not a magic eraser. Yet, she wasn’t even diagnosed.
Compassion cannot become a coupon for three dead children.
Massachusetts’s official homicide instructions place the burden on the Commonwealth to prove criminal responsibility beyond a reasonable doubt.
The moral question is whether our society will remember the victims with the same intensity it has shown the defendant.
So far, the answer is not encouraging.
Mr. Reddington says he will handle this case in court, not on television. That would be more convincing had he not gone on national television after the mistrial and asked President Trump to consider pardoning his client.
There is one small constitutional problem: the president cannot pardon a Massachusetts state offense. Article II limits presidential clemency to “Offenses against the United States,” and the Justice Department expressly states that the president has no authority to pardon a state conviction.
Mr. Reddington’s stunt was cute, though, as he took to the airwaves in a publicity tour. Mr. Reddington has practiced law in Massachusetts for more than 50 years and damn well knows you can’t ask for a federal pardon in a state case.
He accused me of staging a publicity stunt because I&#8217;m asking for justice for three children. Asking the president for a pardon he cannot legally grant, on national television, is apparently called something else.
Any attorney who petitions the president for a federal pardon in a state case forfeits the right to lecture anyone on the law. Mr. Reddington might be able to read the law, but I write it.
Mr. Reddington is correct that Massachusetts does not currently authorize the death penalty. I am saying perhaps they should.
The absence of capital punishment is a legislative choice. Massachusetts lawmakers can make a different one.
They should.
I stand by the death penalty for the most deliberate and depraved murders. I also stand by public accountability when the state carries out its gravest sentence.
If this case happened in South Carolina, Lindsay Clancy could be facing the firing squad.
Over the past few weeks, the pink mob has become an army of amateur psychiatrists and prosecutors. Blaming her medication. Blaming her emotions. Blaming the healthcare system. Blaming the government. Blaming the father who came home to find all three of his children dead. And blaming the lone black juror.
Reddington threw gas on the fire. After the judge declared a mistrial, he left the courtroom and headed to television.
&#8220;I&#8217;m representing a woman who is a fantastic, wonderful individual. This woman is so brave, so awesome.”
This is why I’m calling for the death penalty.
If you kill your children, you should not be described as a “fantastic, wonderful individual.” You should not have a fan club raising you over a million dollars either.
Lindsay Clancy deserves the same mercy she gave her children. None.
Reddington went on to say: “Every day she came into the courthouse, stood tall, no pun intended. The poor thing is in a wheelchair, as we all know, for the rest of her life.”
Lindsay Clancy may never walk again.
Cora, Callan, and Dawson will never breathe again.
They do not get another trial date. They do not get another appeal. They do not get to grow up.
Mr. Reddington can attempt to mansplain all he wants to this girl from South Carolina. He can call my position a stunt. He can object to the death penalty and defend his client as aggressively as the Constitution allows.
What he cannot do is make three children disappear from the center of this case.
Mr. Reddington wants mercy before a verdict.
I want justice after one.

“He is a really nice guy,” said the owner of a local garage where the juror takes his car for repairs and regularly buys gas. “He goes to church.”
“He paid for a lady the other day who couldn’t pay her gas,” the owner recalled. “She said, ‘I can’t pay.’ And he went right over and paid her bill.”
The juror was recently married, he revealed. “His wife — they just got married — came by yesterday and asked me to put new wheels on her car,” the owner said. “She said the media has been crazy and they’re gonna lay low for a while.”

“Based on the circumstances of this trial and the fact that the case continues to receive daily, divisive attention in Massachusetts and beyond, the Court concludes that there is a real and present ‘risk of [personal] harm to the jurors [and] to the integrity of their service,’” the order continues. “The Court concludes that there is a risk of immediate and irreparable injury should the list be made available to the public at this time.”

The decision came amid intense public scrutiny of the jury, particularly after social media users claimed to have identified the lone holdout juror. The jury deadlocked after seven days of deliberations, with 11 jurors reportedly favoring a finding that Clancy was not criminally responsible for killing her three children by reason of insanity. The lone juror, fellow jurors complained, refused to agree with them.
At least five jurors — four females and one male — have publicly discussed the case and their deliberations. Three women, who chose to speak to the press just days after the mistrial, publicly complained that the holdout juror was &#8220;arrogant&#8221; and refused to agree with fellow jurors who were nurses when they gave him their medical expertise. Further, a juror named Paula Devlin revealed last week that the lone juror was a black male, the only minority on the otherwise all-white panel.
Devlin also shockingly admitted on “CBS Saturday Morning” that her decision to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity was motivated by her desire to “change something” and make things better for “other women in the future.”
“Even though we didn’t know what was going on outside of our little bubble that we were in, we knew that this was a turning point and this would be something that could change something, to make it better for other women in the future, for other families,” she said. “You know, justice for those children is this never happening again.”
Clancy has admitted to killing her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan — by strangling them one at a time with exercise bands in the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. She sought to avoid criminal responsibility for the killings at trial by relying on what’s commonly referred to as the insanity defense.
The former labor and delivery nurse is currently being held at Tewksbury Hospital, a state-run psychiatric facility in Massachusetts, where she’s been in custody since 2023. It remains unclear whether the state will decide to retry Clancy for the killings.
