“Full House” actor John Stamos took to social media to defend himself against followers who were angry at him for attending an event at Mar-a-Lago.
The 61-year-old celebrity said in his lengthy response that his attendance wasn’t meant as a political statement, but was rather him supporting a cause he felt strongly about.
&#8220;I accepted the invitation to emcee the Palm Beach Ray of Hope Gala – an evening dedicated to honoring and uplifting our frontline heroes,&#8221; Stamos wrote in part, per <a href="https://people.com/john-stamos-defends-mar-a-lago-appearance-isnt-political-11711044">People</a>. &#8220;This nonpartisan event supports The Academy for Nursing and Health Occupations, a 501(c) (3) organization that trains 350-400 nurses every year, directly addressing the critical shortage of healthcare professionals in Palm Beach County.&#8221;
Stamos said supporting nurses shouldn’t be politicized regardless of where those events take place.
&#8220;Supporting nurses isn&#8217;t political – it&#8217;s essential,&#8221; he continued in the Instagram Stories post. &#8220;These are the people who care for us and our families when we need it most, and I believe we should show up for them with the same unwavering dedication they show up with every single day. I stand by the importance of healthcare, of service, and of investing in those who care for our communities.&#8221;

Stamos was responding to critics who came at him for photos circulating of him attending the event. &#8220;John Stamos just ruined his brand forever,&#8221; one X commenter <a href="https://x.com/RussOnPolitics/status/1908971154838036742">wrote</a>. &#8220;You can&#8217;t visit Mar-a-Lago and then expect the stink to ever leave you. Nobody will be having mercy on him.&#8221;
There were also many people praising Stamos for his actions. “Just became a fan,” one person <a href="https://x.com/bsqwuig/status/1908991779921330384">replied</a>.
The “Full House” star is a longtime Democrat supporter. Stamos previously endorsed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2020 election and <a href="https://x.com/johnstamos/status/1325233157273051136">shared a photo</a> on X of himself posing with Biden while congratulating him on his win.
Stamos also made a featured appearance on the “Comics for Kamala” <a href="https://variety.com/2024/digital/news/comics-elders-kamala-harris-fundraiser-nick-offerman-jane-fonda-1236096484/">fundraising call</a> ahead of the 2024 election.

“Full House” star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-stamos">John Stamos</a> recently discussed his experience with the church of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/scientology">Scientology</a>, saying he got kicked out of a meeting when he was a teenager for &#8220;f***ing around so much.&#8221;
The 61-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">actor</a> made the revelation on an episode of the “Friends in High Places” <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/entertainment/celebrity-news/john-stamos-rejected-church-scientology-1945862">podcast</a>, saying he went to a meeting due to the influence of an attractive woman and his admiration for John Travolta.
&#8220;With me, I was in an acting class and there was a hot girl, [who] said to me, &#8216;You know we&#8217;re all meeting at this [place] on Hollywood Boulevard, you should come after [class],'&#8221; Stamos said. “Seeing ‘Grease’ was like, I wanna be that. I wanted to be John Travolta, I still do. Well, minus the whatever it is that they do,&#8221; he added.

&#8220;I was working at my dad’s restaurant at the time and I said, ‘Dad, I gotta go.’ So, I went and it was the Scientology building,&#8221; the actor continued.
The “Full House” alum was 17 at the time and recalls being at the meeting and encountering an &#8220;E-Meter,&#8221; which the organization’s website describes as “a calibrated device used for measuring extremely low voltages and psyche, the human soul, spirit or mind.&#8221;
Stamos said he was joking around and pretended to use the “E-Meter” like it was a phone. &#8220;I was doing a Peabody and Sherman [impression] and they didn&#8217;t like that,&#8221; Stamos said. &#8220;I was just f***ing around so much, they said, &#8216;Get out [and] get going.  They just kicked me out.&#8221;
Podcast host Matt Friend suggested Stamos was &#8220;too annoying&#8221; to become a member of the organization.
&#8220;That’s pretty bad, I must have been terrible,&#8221; Stamos agreed.
The actor also discussed his relationship with Scientology in his 2023 memoir, “If You Had Told Me.” 
&#8220;I’m walking to my car and Mia runs out and hands me my workbooks,&#8221; Stamos wrote in the book, per <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/john-stamos-was-kicked-out-of-scientology-for-being-annoying/">US Weekly</a>. &#8220;‘Hey, you forgot these.’ She adds an extra book, the size of a brick, to my stack. ‘Start with this one,’ she says, smiling. ‘I think it will open your eyes to some amazing things.’&#8221;

The actor said when he opened the book, it talked about “controlling your reactionary mind, controlling energy, controlling space and controlling time.”
Stamos also mentioned the Scientology building was “creepy as f***.”
“[One man] begins to question me about committing crimes, asks if I have negative thoughts about Scientology or [founder] L. Ron Hubbard and probes into some strange sex inquiries,” Stamos <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/john-stamos-claims-church-scientology-kicked-me-out-being-too-annoying">wrote</a> in the book. “The Wayback Machine needle jumps in the corner, and Mia looks disappointed. Apparently, I’m not Scientology material. Darn it.”

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-stamos">John Stamos</a> recalls being so depressed about getting a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alcohol">DUI</a> in 2015 that he kept drinking.
“When I did get the DUI…I came home from the hospital that night, I sat down, I drank a bottle of wine just to forget what just happened,” the “Full House” actor said during a recent interview with <a href="https://people.com/john-stamos-says-he-drank-a-bottle-of-wine-after-dui-in-2015-exclusive-8418900">People</a>. “And I never sobered up.”
The 60-year-old said immediately after the incident, he had to go film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.” Stamos said he kept drinking to numb the pain of what he was going through.
“When you sober up, you have to look at the ugly truth, so you keep drinking,” he told the outlet. “So I was kind of just loosely buzzed through the shooting of that movie.”
Stamos said those two incidents represent a rock bottom point in his life. “That was bottom,” he said during a recent appearance on the “<a href="https://www.bialikbreakdown.com/watch-podcast/john-stamos">Bialik Breakdown</a>” podcast. “But I didn’t get it and I just numbed myself for a few weeks after that. And when I came home, my sisters were like, ‘Okay, it’s time to go, we found this place.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m ready.’”

“I hated it. I really hated the way I felt, hated disappointing people, hated myself, hated looking in the mirror going, ‘This is not who my parents raised. What am I doing? Who is this idiot?’ I would be so embarrassed,” he continued. “I had everything growing up. I had a beautiful childhood. I had no excuse to f*** my life up. And I did and it made me sick.”
Stamos entered a 30-day rehab in July 2015. He credits his family for helping him maintain <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sobriety">sobriety</a>, which he discussed in more detail in his memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me.”
“They have kept me on this path because going down the road of being sober and taking care of yourself, everybody tries,” the actor said in October, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/john-stamos-recalls-moment-he-realized-he-had-to-sober-up-and-kick-alcohol-addiction">reported</a>. “Everybody does it. You could get going for a little while. Then, it’s like, ‘I can drink again.’ So it’s staying on the path is what they mostly do for me.”

In the 60-year-old actor&#8217;s new book — out on Tuesday — the &#8220;Full House&#8221; star detailed the strange chats he had with his former co-star right before she was named in the &#8220;Varsity Blues&#8221; college admission scandal along with her husband Mossimo Giannulli, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/10/24/entertainment/john-stamos-lori-loughlin-text-exchange-on-college-scandal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> reported. In May of 2020, Loughlin and her husband plead guilty to a variety of conspiracy charges after paying $500,000 to get their two daughters, Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade, into the University of Southern California as phony rowing recruits.
&#8220;In March 2019, I get a strange text around 5:30 am from my good friend Roger Lodge,&#8221; Stamos wrote. &#8220;He asks if Lori is okay. I hit him back, &#8216;Why, what&#8217;s up?&#8217; &#8221;
&#8220;Something about a college scandal,&#8221; he wrote back.
&#8220;I started Googling, but there was very little I could find,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I knew she was working in Canada, so I called to check on her.&#8221;
He said Loughlin answered the phone pretty nonchalantly and he recalled her being unfazed about the phone possibly being bugged.

Stamos recalled asking Loughlin about a series of clicks he heard while they were talking on the phone, and her response was shockingly low-key: &#8220;&#8216;Oh that, yeah, I&#8217;m not sure.&#8217; She answers so casually as if I just asked her if [fictional twins on &#8216;Full House]&#8217; Nicky and Alex finished all their vegetables.&#8221;
&#8220;&#8216;I have seen some emails lately from lawyers to Moss, but I stay out of it.&#8217; Before I can process her response, I notice an odd clicking sound on the phone line,&#8221; he added. &#8220;When I asked her about it, she again adopts her laissez-faire tone, &#8216;Oh, they may be bugging my phone.'&#8221;
After they got off the phone, the &#8220;Fuller House&#8221; star saw that the college admission scandal was making headlines and immediately texted her back. In the book, he then shared how that text thread went.
&#8220;I immediately text Lori, &#8216;Are you watching the news?'&#8221; the actor wrote. &#8220;An FBI agent is announcing the largest college admissions scandal ever handled by the Department of Justice, involving bribes to prestigious colleges for falsified student acceptances. She asks, &#8216;What channel?&#8217; I text back in all caps: &#8216;EVERY CHANNEL!'&#8221;
After the actress plead guilty, the &#8220;Every Christmas Has A Story&#8221; star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actress-lori-loughlin-mounts-comeback-with-rom-com-movie-premiere-following-prison-time" target="_blank" rel="noopener">served</a> two months in prison, while her husband got five-months behind bars. Loughlin was released in December 2020, while Giannulli remained behind bars. Giannulli was then released early on April 2, 2021 and served the remainder of his sentence at home.

The Netflix reboot of the popular sitcom &#8220;Full House,&#8221; which ran from 1987-1995, began filming, and in 2016 it was available on the streaming site. Stamos was joined by other originals from the series like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/youre-going-to-be-a-disciple-for-me-candace-cameron-bure-thanks-god-for-taking-her-out-of-acting-for-10-years" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Candace Cameron Bure</a>, Bob Saget, and Jodie Sweetin. It was a hit and ran for the next four years.
Stamos credits his wife of five years, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, and their 5-year-old son for helping him stay sober.

Stamos even revealed that the twins, who shared the role of Michelle Tanner on the popular ABC show, visited his home and &#8220;brought a pork chop and sage. I don&#8217;t know why, but thank you? It was a frozen pork chop, so that was really nice. So we stayed very close.&#8221;

And I said, &#8216;This is not gonna work.&#8217; And so they got rid of them. They bring on these two redheaded kids… I&#8217;m sure their parents loved them and thought they were attractive…&#8221;
&#8220;It was only a few days, and I said, &#8216;Bring the Olsens back! These kids are terrible,'&#8221; Stamos continued.
Saget died on January 9, 2022, from head trauma. He was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, and his death was ruled an accident.

John Stamos Reveals How He Felt When He Learned Olsen Twins Weren’t Coming Back For ‘Full House’ Reboot

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-stamos">John Stamos</a> said he was responsible for getting the Olsen twins fired from the ABC sitcom “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/full-house">Full House</a>” because he “couldn’t deal” with their crying.
Stamos, who played Jesse Katsopolis on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television">show</a>, made the revelation during Monday’s episode of the &#8220;Good Guys&#8221; <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/our-dad-john-stamos-is-here/id1640156422?i=1000610365594">podcast</a>. The actor recalled doing a scene with Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) in the very first episode of the series and having a hard time working with the fussy toddler twins.
&#8220;We&#8217;re doing the scene. Joey and I were changing the baby, right? And Danny&#8217;s gone and said, &#8216;Take care of the kids.&#8217; &#8216;Yeah, we got it. We got it,'&#8221; Stamos said.
Jesse and Joey were trying to change Michelle&#8217;s diaper in the kitchen, but Mary-Kate and Ashley kept crying and ruining the scene, the actor said.
Stamos said, &#8220;So, we&#8217;re carrying the baby downstairs and we take her in the kitchen and we hose her down. And she was screaming. Both of them. They wanted to be anywhere else but there, and so did I.&#8221;
The “Full House” alum said that producers kept switching the babies and claiming they weren’t going to cry. 
&#8220;They were 11 months old, and God bless them. They kept switching: &#8216;This one&#8217;s not gonna cry.&#8217; I couldn&#8217;t deal with it. And I said, &#8216;This is not gonna work.&#8217; And so they got rid of them. They bring on these two redheaded kids&#8230; I&#8217;m sure their parents loved them and thought they were attractive…&#8221; he said.
&#8220;It was only a few days, and I said, &#8216;Bring the Olsens back! These kids are terrible,'&#8221; Stamos said.

Mary-Kate and Ashley starred as Michelle Tanner in the popular ABC show for the entirety if its eight-season run. The pair went on to become famous child stars, with multiple made-for-TV and direct-to-video films. They are now owners of multiple fashion brands.
Stamos previously spoke to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/25/arts/television/john-stamos-bob-saget.html?searchResultPosition=1">The New York Times</a> about getting into arguments on the &#8220;Full House&#8221; set with co-star Bob Saget, who played Danny Tanner. Saget died in 2022. 
The actor said he and Saget often “clashed” with their methods. “He was a comic. If there was even one person on the set, he had to make them laugh,” Stamos said. He said the pair eventually learned to compromise.
“I think we met in the middle,” Stamos said. “But we both went in kicking and screaming, not wanting to bend what we do.”

Foo Fighters fans are still reeling from the loss of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died in Colombia over the weekend at the age of 50. Now, “Full House” alum John Stamos is sharing details about the last conversation he had with Hawkins before he died.
Stamos revealed what their last text said via <a href="https://twitter.com/JohnStamos/status/1507583901518098435">Twitter</a>. He wrote, “This was Taylor Hawkins&#8217; last text to me: ‘Ya We’ve yet to fully have a hang -Got a put that s*** together before we die[.]’ Wise words from my friend- put that s*** together!  I&#8217;m so f***ing sad. Another one gone too soon.”

The actor is still mourning the loss of his longtime friend and “Full House” co-star Bob Saget, who died unexpectedly in January. Stamos also shared a video of Hawkins in which the drummer was pretending to be mad at Stamos for scoring a part in a Geico commercial. The actor flips a knitting needle like a drumstick in the commercial.
&#8220;Stamos is a good buddy of mine. He&#8217;s a good guy. I really like him a lot. He&#8217;s a great drummer and he&#8217;s just a great dude, all that stuff,&#8221; Hawkins says in the throwback clip, which was shared on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CbtgC4PjwRq/">Instagram</a>.
&#8220;But I&#8217;m a little upset with him actually, I gotta be honest with you, because I was supposed to do that Geico commercial….Originally that was mine but they decided to go with Stamos ‘cause he&#8217;s better looking. But I&#8217;m the best stick flipper around. Sorry, Stamos….It goes me, Tommy Lee, Stamos.&#8221;
For the caption, Stamos wrote, &#8220;Yes, Taylor you are the best stick flipper and I miss you pal! #GoneWayTooF***kingSoon.&#8221;
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-details-emerge-about-what-police-allegedly-found-in-the-room-of-foo-fighters-taylor-hawkins-report">previously noted</a> that Hawkins reportedly had a heart that weighed twice what the heart of an average male his age should weigh:
<blockquote>Preliminary results of the urine toxicology test indicate the presence of 10 different substances: THX (Marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids, among others,” the attorney general said in a statement. “The National Institute of Forensic Medicine continues to conduct the necessary medical studies to ascertain the cause of death.”
The Mail reported that investigators concluded Hawkins died due to a “cardiovascular collapse.”
The Foo Fighters released a statement regarding Hawkins, who died while on tour with the rock band.
“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band said. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”</blockquote>
