James Bond has done it all, from defeating iron-jawed foes to bedding the loveliest lasses across the pond.
He may have met his match with Amazon/MGM, and the battle over 007’s future speaks volumes about where Hollywood goes in the next decade.
So far, the signs are ominous, according to leaks shared in an <a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/media/james-bond-movies-amazon-barbara-broccoli-0b04f0db?mod=hp_lead_pos7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explosive Wall Street Journal investigation</a>. As is, it’s been a while since the British Super Spy graced the big screen. The last 007 outing, “No Time to Die,” hit theaters in 2021 following a COVID delay.
It’s now 2025 and there’s no new Bond movie script or even a story in the works. Heck, we still don’t know who will take over for Daniel Craig, who played the British secret agent for five feature films.

It might be several years before 007 sips a new martini on the big screen. Will franchise fans wait that long, or will they move on to other action sagas?
How could Hollywood let a beloved property sit on the proverbial shelf?
It all began at the top at Amazon. In 2021 the <a href="https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/a36543339/james-bond-amazon-mgm-deal-explained/">company purchased MGM</a> for a gaudy $6.5 billion, instantly acquiring the power of classic IPs like “Rocky,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Legally Blonde” and a certain spy franchise dating back to “Dr. No” in 1962.
The deal has a unique complication, however, when it comes to the Bond saga. Amazon owns half of the franchise, while the rest is held by siblings Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson – Broccoli being the main power broker at this point.
The pair inherited the series from veteran Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli. The duo retains considerable control over all things Bond, from spinoffs to casting the next 007.

That’s good, on paper. The Broccoli family has lorded over the franchise for decades, and they’ve treated it with great care. They’re not eager to leverage the property or lunge for a quick cash grab.
Amazon has other ideas.
They see the series as content to be exploited in the not-so-grand “Star Wars” tradition. How well has that turned out?
No matter. The oh, so modern Amazon envisions a Bond universe where a Miss Moneypenny series can coincide with new Bond adventures.
The creative tug of war reflects where Hollywood stands in 2025. Beloved IPs (intellectual properties) are the coin of the realm, be it a plastic Barbie doll or “The Planet of the Apes.” They allow studios to deliver remakes, sequels, prequels and reboots, all retaining the precious name recognition fans crave.
The “Star Wars” brand serves as a cautionary tale. We haven’t seen a new “Star Wars” film since 2019, and every few months an “announced” film project gets scrapped or sent to the back burner.
The less said about “Star Wars” TV shows like “The Acolyte,” gone after one terrible woke season, the better.
The “John Wick” saga <a href="https://deadline.com/2024/12/john-wick-spinoff-the-continental-producer-season-2-update-1236194645/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stumbled with the TV series prequel “The Continental.”</a> Next up? The Wick-ian movie spinoff “Ballerina” starring Ana De Armas.”
Suddenly, Keanu Reeves’ antihero seems less special, no? Can Bond avoid that ignominious path?
The only Bond-related project to come out since the purchase? The reality show, “007: Road to a Million,” hosted by an actor who signed on thinking he had snagged a role in a Bond film, not a spinoff project (Brian Cox of “Succession” fame).
The Broccolis have retained the core of the Bond brand for more than 60 years. They let Bond evolve over time, but only by degrees. He no longer swats the fannies of his female co-stars like Sean Connery’s spy once did.
He might rely less on gadgets today than during the Roger Moore era (1973-1985). His enemies reflect modern woes more than Cold War villains of the past.

That consistency has made Bond an icon bridging generations of fans. It doesn’t matter who portrays Bond – the rugged Connery or the suave Pierce Brosnan – the character’s enduring appeal matters most.
He’s a traditionally masculine figure who knows the risks but saves the day over and again. Yes, he’s a straight white male who kills without mercy when needed. He also rarely embraces monogamy, and that’s being kind.
All of the above drives his detractors crazy, including press outlets eager to dub Bond’s canon “<a href="https://metro.co.uk/2024/07/03/james-bonds-problematic-moments-goldfinger-skyfall-21126674/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">problematic</a>.” Even the last Bond movie director, “No Time to Die’s” Cary Fukunaga, said <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2021/09/23/james-bond-director-says-sean-connery-character-basically-rapes-woman/5826149001/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Connery’s Bond was practically a rapist.</a>
So far, the Broccolis have resistant cultural pressure along the way. Even “No Time to Die,” marketed with plenty <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/woke-bond-box-office-disappointment/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">of woke eye rolls</a>, stuck mostly to formula. It also made $774 million worldwide despite the lingering pandemic.
The James Bond saga represents old school Hollywood. It’s a connection to our pop culture past, a franchise that belongs on the big screen. Always. You don’t “stream” a new 007 movie. It’s not “content” based on algorithms.
It’s cinema, resisting the flavors of the month to deliver timeless thrills. Women want to bed him, while men want to be like him. Those biological norms never go out of style.
Unless 21st century Hollywood has its way.
The most chilling part of the WSJ story came via an Amazon employee considering the world of 007.
“I have to be honest. I don’t think James Bond is a hero.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-bond">James Bond</a> producer Barbara Broccoli has reportedly made it clear to Amazon executives that she will not support plans for a spinoff female 007 TV series.
Broccoli — who acquired all the rights to the James Bond franchise from her late father Albert “Cubby” Broccoli and holds all approval rights for anything associated with the franchise — has reportedly not agreed with Amazon’s woke plans for the next spy film or even TV series, the <a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/media/james-bond-movies-amazon-barbara-broccoli-0b04f0db?mod=hp_lead_pos7">Wall Street Journal</a> reported.
In March 2022, the giant e-retail acquired the rights to the franchise from <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/03/17/amazon-closes-8-5b-mgm-acquisition-despite-ftc-scrutiny/">Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio for $8.5 billion</a>, WSJ noted.
“These people are f***ing idiots,” <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/20/business/james-bond-producers-nixed-amazons-woke-female-007-idea/">Broccoli reportedly</a> told others when describing Amazon executives.
Those with knowledge told the Journal that Amazon has pitched ideas like the female 007 spinoff series for the streaming service, noting that it would focus on Miss Moneypenny, the secretary of MI6 spy chief M. However, Broccoli has made it clear she wants nothing to do with it.
It’s reportedly gotten so bad that Broccoli has threatened to delay the release of a Bond sequel, by in essence, holding the film, “hostage,” WSJ noted.

There was also talk about having a gay or nonwhite take on the role of the famed spy that she was reportedly more open to, with the caveats that the person portraying Bond was a man and a Brit, the Journal noted.
The comments were similar to ones she’s made in the past when she said the next Bond should definitely be a male, and not a woman, as some at the time had suggested, The <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/jenna-ortega-james-bond-franchises-1235990259/">Hollywood Reporter</a> noted.
“I think [the next James Bond] will be a man because I don’t think a woman should play James Bond,” Broccoli said in 2021. “I believe in making characters for women and not just having women play men’s roles.”

“This is a novel, and it leads into this James Bond world and this fantasy of that universe where he’s at,” she added.

De Armas played a new version of a “Bond girl” as the mysterious CIA agent Paloma across from Daniel Craig in 2021’s “No Time to Die.” The movie was Craig’s final outing as 007 after playing Bond in “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace,” “Skyfall,” and “Spectre.”
During an interview in 2019, the producer and overseer of the Bond franchise, Barbara Broccoli, admitted that a future 007 could be “non-binary.” Broccoli discussed the replacement of Craig on the “<a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-100-exclusive-barbara-broccoli-talks-bond-feminism/id1439182513?i=1000544545978">Girls On Film</a>” podcast.
“I think we should be making more films about women and create female characters,” the producer explained. “So, I think Bond will be a man.”
When the podcast host pressed further if the next Bond could be “non-binary, perhaps, maybe one day?” Broccoli replied, “Who knows? I mean, I think it’s open. We just have to find the right actor.”

“I love that there’s a lot more female leads nowadays, I think that’s so special, but we should have our own,” Ortega told the reporter. “I don’t like it when it’s like a spinoff — I don’t want to see, like, ‘Jamie Bond.’ You know? I want to see another bada**.”

New reported James Bond star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/marvel-actor-says-weve-had-enough-of-studios-churning-out-stuff-that-dilutes-wanting-to-go-to-the-cinema" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aaron Taylor-Johnson</a> reflected on the importance of fatherhood and said a dad&#8217;s &#8220;job&#8221; is &#8220;to protect the purest, most innocent thing that&#8217;s come into the world.&#8221;
Speaking to <a href="https://www.rollingstone.co.uk/film/aaron-taylor-johnson-britains-next-leading-man-bond-interview-37853/">Rolling Stone UK</a> magazine, the 33-year-old British actor talked about setting an example for his four daughters.
&#8220;You realize it&#8217;s your job to protect the purest, most innocent thing that&#8217;s come into the world,&#8221; the actor said. &#8220;And it&#8217;s your duty to be their role model.&#8221;
&#8220;You are going to be reflected in their choices later on in life, from who their partners are to how they carry themselves in the world,&#8221; he added.
And as far as having a family and career, the &#8220;Avengers: Endgame&#8221; star said, &#8220;I&#8217;m just trying to juggle my family and my work. I&#8217;m doing normal life; dentist appointments.&#8221;

&#8220;Career doesn&#8217;t necessarily take a back seat, but it takes a different thought behind the choices that you make,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But you also discover characters you&#8217;re drawn to because of that, you&#8217;re not just some 20-year-old anymore.&#8221;
&#8220;You unlock some secret thing,&#8221; the actor continued, noting that despite being offered jobs for television limited series, he hasn&#8217;t taken them because he doesn&#8217;t want to be away from his family. 
At one point, Taylor-Johnson also defended his 23-year age gap with his current wife, 57-year-old Sam Taylor-Johnson. The two met when he was auditioning for her movie in 2008, <a href="https://people.com/aaron-taylor-johnson-doesn-t-understand-criticism-of-age-difference-with-wife-sam-8612681">People magazine</a> noted.
 &#8220;You&#8217;re doing something too quickly for someone else?&#8221; the British star said of the criticism. &#8220;I don&#8217;t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It&#8217;s bizarre to me.&#8221;
The two got engaged in 2009 and announced they were expecting a year later, People magazine noted. In 2010, they welcomed their first daughter together to the world, Wylda Rae, and two years later, Romy Hero in January 2012. Sam also has two older daughters, 27 and 17, from a previous marriage.

Eon Productions has reportedly offered the opportunity to be the next <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-bond" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Bond</a> to British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, according to a publication in the U.K.
The news comes after Daniel Craig starred in the iconic role of 007 for more than a decade, starting with &#8220;Casino Royale&#8221; in 2006 before making &#8220;Quantum of Solace&#8221; in 2008, &#8220;Skyfall&#8221; in 2012, &#8220;Spectre&#8221; in 2015, and &#8220;No Time to Die&#8221; in 2021.
&#8220;Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back,&#8221; a source <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/26774029/aaron-taylor-johnson-offered-role-james-bond/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The Sun. &#8220;As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.&#8221;
Other top candidates for the role reportedly included Cillian Murphy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, and James Norton.
Work on the next Bond film has been delayed due to the Hollywood strikes last year, the report said. The script is currently being written.
When he was asked recently about whether he would be the next Bond, Taylor-Johnson responded: &#8220;I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.&#8221;
Taylor-Johnson is known for his roles in “Kick-Ass,” “Kick-Ass 2,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Nocturnal Animals,” “Godzilla,” “Tenet,” and “Bullet Train.”

The film was hit with a 54% Rotten Tomatoes critic score, though it performed better with general audiences with a 76% score. &#8220;Bullet Train&#8221; ultimately went on to gross $239.3 million worldwide on a reported budget of $85-90 million.
Taylor-Johnson can next be seen in &#8220;The Fall Guy&#8221; with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, as well as &#8220;Kraven the Hunter,&#8221; the latter having been delayed one year due to the 2023 actors&#8217; strike.

Eon Productions Offers Role Of The Next James Bond To British Actor: Report

Ian Fleming’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-bond">James Bond</a> books have been edited to appease modern audiences with non-offensive language.
A new <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/02/25/james-bond-books-edited-remove-racist-references/">report</a> in The Sunday Telegraph says that new editions of Fleming’s original <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/books">novels</a> will feature <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/censorship">rewritten</a> and deleted passages. Ian Fleming Publications reportedly worked with “sensitivity readers” to identify and rewrite language that could be construed as racist or otherwise problematic.
The organization said Fleming himself was in favor of rewrites and even approved edits to the book “Live and Let Die” (1954) before his death in 1964. Those changes included removing negative slang terms for black people, such as the n-word, and replacing them with simply “black man” or “black person.”
“We at Ian Fleming Publications reviewed the text of the original Bond books and decided our best course of action was to follow Ian’s lead. We have made changes to ‘Live and Let Die’ that he himself authorized,” a spokesperson for Ian Fleming Publications told the publication. 
“Following Ian’s approach, we looked at the instances of several racial terms across the books and removed a number of individual words or else swapped them for terms that are more accepted today but in keeping with the period in which the books were written.”
The new versions of Bond novels will include a disclaimer: “This book was written at a time when terms and attitudes which might be considered offensive by modern readers were commonplace. A number of updates have been made in this edition, while keeping as close as possible to the original text and the period in which it is set.”
The Telegraph went on to note that the books will keep some controversial phrasing while replacing other lines of text. For example, &#8220;Casino Royale&#8221; still includes phrases like &#8220;sweet tang of rape,&#8221; &#8220;blithering women&#8221; failing to do a &#8220;man’s work,&#8221; insensitive references to east Asians, and references to homosexuality as a &#8220;stubborn disability.&#8221; 
In “Live and Let Die,” however, the line calling Africans &#8220;pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought, except when they’ve drunk too much&#8221; was revised to say, &#8220;pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought.&#8221;

These changes come on the heels of a controversy over Roald Dahl’s books being altered for the same reasons, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/famed-childrens-author-roald-dahls-books-altered-in-massive-woke-effort">reported</a>. The Roald Dahl Story Co. worked with Inclusive Minds, which monitors children’s literature for inclusion, diversity, and accessibility, to change some passages they deemed unacceptable.
While the company insisted changes to Dahl’s texts were “small and carefully considered,” fans were furious to see the late author’s words being changed. 
“Roald Dahl was no angel but this is absurd censorship,” novelist Salman Rushdie <a href="https://twitter.com/SalmanRushdie/status/1627075835525210113">tweeted</a>. “Puffin Books and the Dahl estate should be ashamed.”

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/liam-neeson">Liam Neeson</a> said he was offered the chance to play <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-bond">James Bond</a> back in the 1990s, but he turned it down when his wife gave him an &#8220;ultimatum.&#8221;
The 70-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">actor</a> recalled how producer Barbara Broccoli reached out to him several times regarding the role just after Neeson was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Oskar Schindler in “Schindler’s List” (1993). But the Hollywood star explained how love trumped career in this case.
“I know the Broccolis. They looked at a bunch of actors,” Neeson <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-movie-features/liam-neeson-has-some-regrets-marlowe-atlanta-the-view-james-bond-superhero-movies-1234680950/">told</a> Rolling Stone during an interview published on February 20. 
“‘Schindler’s List’ had come out and Barbara [Broccoli] had called me a couple of times to ask if I was interested, and I said, ‘Yes, I would be interested.’ And then my lovely wife [Natasha Richardson], God rest her soul, said to me while we were shooting ‘Nell’ down in the Carolinas, ‘Liam, I want to tell you something: If you play James Bond, we’re not getting married.&#8217;”
The actor said he would tease Richardson by “going behind her back, making my fingers as though I’m holding a gun, and [humming the James Bond theme].” 
“I loved doing that s***!” he said about poking fun at his wife, who died in 2009 due to a head injury while skiing.
“She gave me a James Bond ultimatum,” Neeson recalled of turning down the part. “And she meant it! Come on, there’s all those gorgeous girls in various countries getting into bed and getting out of bed. I’m sure a lot of her decision-making was based on that!”
Though the actor never took a turn portraying Bond, he did make a name for himself in the action series “Taken,” which brought Neeson a huge amount of recognition in the genre.
In the movie, Neeson threatens his daughter’s kidnappers by saying, “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.”
The actor recently discussed how he initially found his well-known speech in the 2008 film “corny.”
“I certainly did sound scary, but I thought it was corny,” Neeson <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2023/02/liam-neeson-100-movies-marlowe">told</a> Vanity Fair during a February interview. “It was a cornball. I really did feel that. It’s nice to be proven wrong.”

During the 69-year-old actor&#8217;s recent appearance on &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jEYhmfOvKk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Tonight Show</a>,&#8221; Brosnan told host Jimmy Fallon that when he auditioned for the role of the caped crusader in Tim Burton&#8217;s 1989 movie, titled &#8220;Batman,&#8221; he really messed up.
&#8220;I went up for Batman way back in the day when Tim Burton was doing it,&#8221; the &#8220;Die Another Day&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/james-bond-actors-speak-after-queen-elizabeth-iis-death" target="_blank" rel="noopener">star</a> explained. &#8220;Obviously, I didn&#8217;t get the job.&#8221;
&#8220;But I remember saying something stupid to Tim Burton, I said, &#8216;You know I can&#8217;t understand any man who would wear his underpants outside his trousers,’” he added. &#8220;But there you go … the best man got the job.&#8221;

Burton ended up picking Keaton, whose take on Batman has become one of the most iconic in all the caped crusader films. Keaton would later reprise the role in 1992’s &#8220;Batman Returns.”
Now, the 71-year-old actor will once again don the cape in the upcoming film &#8220;The Flash&#8221; as Bruce Wayne, a.k.a. the Dark Knight, in the movie that hits the theaters in June 2023, <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2022/04/26/batman-michael-keaton-the-flash-first-footage/9546664002/">USA Today</a> noted.
As far as Brosnan, he might not have gotten to be Batman, but he did do okay after landing the famed role of 007 in several Bond films starting in 1995 with &#8220;Golden Eye,&#8221; followed by &#8220;Tomorrow Never Dies&#8221; two years later. He would return to the spy role two years after that in &#8220;The World is Not Enough&#8221; before exiting the franchise in 2002 with &#8220;Die Another Day.&#8221;
Following news that Daniel Craig was leaving the Bond franchise, Brosnan said he really didn&#8217;t have an opinion. Craig has played James Bond in five of the franchise&#8217;s films, from 2006-2021.
&#8220;Who should do it?&#8221; Pierce said to <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/the-brosnan-boys" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GQ</a> magazine. &#8220;I don&#8217;t care.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Whoever he be, I wish him well.&#8221;

The film producer for the James Bond movie franchise revealed in an interview last last week that all would-be 007s must audition a seduction scene from one of one of the very first Bond films.
Film producer Michael G. Wilson, who runs Eon Productions with Barbara Broccoli, <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/10/james-bond-producer-michael-g-wilson-from-russia-with-love-bedroom-scene-used-auditions-1235132677/">said</a> during an event at the British Film Institute that all actors auditioning for the Bond role are tested from a seduction scene in 1963 film &#8220;From Russia With Love,&#8221; starring Sean Connery.
“We always use the same scene … and that’s the one in &#8216;From Russia With Love,&#8217; where Bond comes back to his room after the assassination, and he starts taking off his shirt, goes into the room to bathe,&#8221; Wilson said. &#8220;Then he hears something, takes his gun, goes in and the girl’s in the bed.”
Wilson said that is the &#8220;test&#8221; that the movie franchise uses, adding: &#8220;Anyone who can bring that scene off is right for Bond. It’s tough to do.”

Production on any new Bond adventure is at least two years away, Broccoli says, and her team haven’t given clues as to who might don the classic Bond tuxedo next.
“The thing is, it’s going to be a couple of years off,” Broccoli said. “And when we cast Bond, it’s a 10-, 12-year commitment. So he’s probably thinking, ‘Do I really want that thing? Not everybody wants to do that. It was hard enough getting [Daniel Craig to do it].”
“That’s why, when people go, ‘Oh, who are you going to get?’ it’s not just about casting an actor for a film. It’s about a reinvention, and ‘Where are we taking it? What do we want to do with the character?’” says Broccoli. “And then, once we figure that out, who’s the right person for that particular reinvention?&#8221;

Think “Star Wars,” the “Terminator” saga, “Charlie’s Angels,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more. And, in many cases, these franchises have emerged much wobblier.
Yet, the family pulling 007’s strings have resisted that progressive siren song. As a result, the James Bond franchise — which began in 1962 with “Dr. No.” — remains one of Hollywood’s oldest and most respected. For now.

As their search continues, here’s a sneak peek at what Bond fanatics might see in the years to come, should Hollywood’s woke revolution swamp the series.
<h3>Just … Moneypenny, Thank You</h3>
James Bond loves flirting with this franchise regular, but don’t expect anything of the sort moving forward. The long-running character will be played by a trans actress next time ‘round, but the new Bond won’t be allowed to so much as glance in her direction.
The male gaze can be even deadlier than a Bond villain.
Moneypenny 2.0 will also get her hands dirty in the spy business, saving Bond’s life a time or two before the end credits roll.
<h3>Inequality Matters</h3>
Bond typically fights megalomaniacs in search of global domination or fiendish killers with crazy nicknames like &#8216;Jaws.&#8217; The next Bond villain, however, will be cut from a different cloth.
He might be an industrialist whose schemes expand the chasm between the Haves and Have Nots. Or, she could plot to kill a rising socialist star eager to pave a new way for the country in question.
Either way, the new Bond won’t need any gadgets moving forward. An enduring belief in equity will be all the weaponry he needs.
<h3>The James Bond’s Apology Tour</h3>
James Bond always saves the day, which often requires retiring the Bond villain du jour — permanently.
But what about the supervillain’s immediate family? They haven’t sold their souls for global domination. They may not even be aware of their relative’s ghastly schemes. Enter the new, enlightened Bond. He’ll publicly pressure M, his stoic boss, to offer condolences to the next-of-kin along with reparations for any financial difficulties they face after their supervillain family member’s demise.
A cookie bouquet will also make a brief, on-screen appearance over the closing credits to show there’s no hard feelings from the super-spy.
<h3>The First “Bond Boy”</h3>
The Bond Girl concept is now verboten. The female stars of “No Time to Die” said as much, as did “Die” director Cary Fukunaga, who demanded the women in that film have “<a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/bond-director-cary-fukunaga-no-time-to-die-1235017724/">equity</a>.”
Enter the Bond Boy. He’ll be buff and beautiful, and he’ll definitely catch 007’s eye.
The new supporting character won’t be romancing Mr. Bond, but the sexual chemistry will be obvious. The Broccoli family leaves room open for a same-sex romance, but vows it’ll wait for the second film in the reinvented series, at the earliest.
<h3>Neither Shaken Nor Stirred</h3>
Bond’s drinking predilection is a small, but memorable part of his brand. It’s also a chronic advertisement for alcohol that makes a dangerous impression on young viewers.
The next Bond will be a teetotaler, and he’ll nurse a club soda if the story finds him hanging at the bar.
<h3>Group Therapy</h3>
Saving the world may do wonders for your self-esteem, but being a professional assassin leaves emotional scars. The new Bond will enter therapy, a la Tony Soprano, with his therapist becoming a recurring character.
Female, of course.
<h3>Carbon Neutral Wheels</h3>
The 007 franchise revels in state-of-the-art vehicles. Think the BMW Z8, the Aston Martin DB5, and the Lotus Esprit S1. Those gas guzzlers are a poor fit for a modern-day Bond. He must set an example, and he’ll need a fully electric car to do just that.
If it means the world goes south while he’s waiting for a recharge, so be it.
<h3>Bond’s Pronouns</h3>
Sean Connery made the simple act of saying James Bond’s name an iconic part of the brand.
“Bond. James Bond.”
That’s about to change.
Super-fans may assume Bond’s gender, but for many people, the next Bond outing will be their first time meeting the British spy. So introductions are in order, and they better be inclusive.
Whoever gets the plum 007 gig will have to share an updated line — “Bond, James Bond. He/him.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Pierce Brosnan</a> may have played <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-bond">James Bond</a> in four <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/watch/movies">films</a>, but that doesn’t mean he cares about who plays the role next.
The 69-year-old Hollywood mainstay <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/the-brosnan-boys">told</a> GQ magazine that he’s not really concerned about who takes on the role after current 007 actor Daniel Craig steps back. Brosnan was the lead actor for the franchise from 1995 until 2002.
“Who should do it?” he asked during a cover interview with the publication. “I don’t care.”
“It’ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be,” he continued. “Whoever he be, I wish him well.”
Brosnan was the fifth actor to play the role of Bond in the main series. Previous stars who stepped up to the role include Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, and Timothy Dalton. Brosnan starred in “GoldenEye” (1995), “Tomorrow Never Dies” (1997), “The World Is Not Enough” (1999), and “Die Another Day (2002).”
In the same interview, Brosnan said he liked one of Craig’s recent films. “I love Skyfall,” he told GQ. “I’m not too sure about the last one,” he said of “No Time to Die.”
While Brosnan didn’t seem too upset about who will play Bond next, Harrison Ford doesn’t feel the same way about Indiana Jones. The 80-year-old acting legend made headlines for insisting that the franchise will die with him. 
“Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy,” Ford told Today in 2019. 
The quote came up again when fans were speculating that Chris Pratt could be a potential replacement for Ford in the Indiana Jones franchise, as The Daily Wire originally <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chris-pratt-confirms-he-wont-play-indiana-jones-because-hes-scared-of-harrison-ford">reported</a>.
“No, aren’t they doing ‘Indiana Jones’ with Harrison Ford? All I know is I once saw a quote from Harrison Ford and I don’t even know if it was really him but it was enough to scare me, that was like, ‘When I die, Indiana Jones dies.’ And I’m like, am I gonna get haunted by the ghost of Harrison Ford one day when he dies if I play…?” Pratt said in July.
The fifth “Indiana Jones” is slated for 2023. 
Meanwhile, a few names are circulating as replacements for Craig as Bond, including Idris Elba. But Elba insists he doesn’t want the part.
