University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines defended his decision to allow anti-Israel protesters to rally on the anniversary of October 7 with what he said was original &#8220;faculty research&#8221; that proves that the Palestinian flag does not support terrorism. But the &#8220;research&#8221; was actually copied from ChatGPT, The Daily Wire found.
Pines passed off the text in an effort to justify his decision to allow the university&#8217;s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) to reserve a main campus quad on the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-will-let-anti-israel-group-hold-oct-7-rally">anniversary</a> of Hamas&#8217;s attack on Israel to &#8220;honor&#8221; the “martyrs.” Pines sent the text in response to an email from a Maryland resident who inquired if Pines, who is black, would be as supportive of groups flying the Confederate Flag on campus as he is of flying the Palestine flag.
“I have consulted with Middle East Scholars and Historians on our campus regarding the origin and history of the Palestinian Flag. The general consensus opinion from these faculty scholars is as follows,&#8221; Pines wrote.
The four paragraphs that followed — punctuated by a curt “I will not be responding to any further inquiries on this matter” — did not come from faculty scholars, but rather directly from the artificial intelligence service ChatGPT, after being modified to be more pro-Palestinian.
Pines wrote in his first paragraph that “The Palestinian flag is not generally considered a symbol of hate but rather a symbol of national identity, aspiration, and the struggle for statehood and self-determination,” though it “can be viewed differently depending on one&#8217;s perspective.”
When The Daily Wire asked ChatGPT “Is the Palestinian flag a symbol of hate?” the first paragraph of its response said that “its interpretation can vary widely depending on one&#8217;s perspective. For many Palestinians and their supporters, the flag is a symbol of identity, resistance, and the aspiration for statehood and self-determination.”
Pines wrote, and underlined, that “For Palestinians, the flag is a powerful symbol of their quest for self-determination, statehood, and the right to return.”
When ChatGPT was asked “Is the Palestinian flag a symbol of hate or national identity,” it said “For Palestinians, the flag is a powerful symbol of their national identity and cultural heritage. It represents their history, aspirations, and desire for self-determination and statehood.”
ChatGPT does not answer questions the same way each time, but reuses certain phrases. Almost all of the exact phrases in Pines’ email appeared in various orders and permutations when The Daily Wire asked similar questions, or the same question multiple times. The overall structure and tone of the answer is also unmistakably artificial intelligence. That makes it very likely that the text came from ChatGPT, and likely that the AI answer generated at the University of Maryland hewed even more closely to Pines’ email than The Daily Wire&#8217;s attempts to replicate it.

His response contained a sentence about how the flag &#8220;was formally adopted by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1964” (the PLO is a US-designated terror-supporting organization) and has “horizontal black, white, and green stripes with a red triangle on the left.”

Pines&#8217;s original writing and alterations stand out because they are often grammatically incorrect or poorly written. In addition to the unusual capitalization of “Middle East Scholars and Historians on our campus,” Pines added transitional words like &#8220;thus,&#8221; which appear out of place.
ChatGPT concludes: “In summary, while the Palestinian flag can be seen as a symbol of resistance and national identity for Palestinians, its interpretation can be influenced by various political and ideological perspectives. It&#8217;s important to approach such symbols with an understanding of the broader historical and political contexts in which they are used.”
“Thus, the Palestinian flag is primarily a symbol of Palestinian national identity, statehood, and the struggle for self-determination,&#8221; Pines&#8217;s message ends. &#8220;It is not inherently a symbol of hate but is deeply connected to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and thus its meaning can be interpreted differently depending on one&#8217;s political stance. While it may be perceived negatively in certain contexts, especially in Israel, it is recognized globally as the flag of a people seeking statehood and international recognition.”
Pines said that he had personally “consulted” with multiple scholars, implying that he synthesized the “consensus opinion from these faculty scholars.” It is possible that a University of Maryland “Middle East Scholar” used ChatGPT to gather information that was supposedly in his area of expertise, and sent it to Pines representing it as his own work, with Pines then in turn positioning it as his own. Pines did not respond to questions from The Daily Wire.
Pines’s sympathies with pro-Palestinian elements on campus came to the fore after he responded to the Hamas terror attack and pro-Palestine uprisings on college campuses by forming a “MD Joint Presidential-University Senate Task Force on Antisemitism and Islamophobia,” co-chaired by the anti-Israel Muslim professor Shibley Telhami.
There is evidence that Pines is close with, and working closely with, Telhami, including his personal response to the mother of a university student who objected to the anti-Israel views held by task force members.
“It’s LUDICROUS that someone who holds hateful views towards Israel (only democracy in the Middle East) and Jews is Chair of a Task Force on antisemitism,&#8221; the parent wrote to task force members. &#8220;Would you have a KKK Member on this Taskforce?”
Pines threatened to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-of-maryland-prez-said-anti-israel-protesters-could-rally-on-10-7-then-threatened-to-call-police-on-jew-for-complaining" target="_blank" rel="noopener">call the police on her</a> for making “inappropriate” remarks. He added, &#8220;Members of our leadership team, and members of the Task Force care deeply about the safety and well being of every member of our campus community. Thus, the Task Force&#8217;s ongoing work is very important, and all of its members are deserving of our utmost respect and support.&#8221;
The mother had not included Pines on her emails, leading her to believe that Telhami enlisted him to respond.
Pines sent the ChatGPT information falsely attributed to &#8220;faculty scholarship&#8221; in an August 28 email to another Jewish resident who pressed him on the SJP rallies. His email also echoed SJP&#8217;s false claim that Israel has killed 150,000 people, and claimed SJP does not support terrorism.
SJP said on Instagram that it “unequivocally stands by international law as it outlaws the indiscriminate killing of civilians and establishes the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C_WntvnPe2D/?img_index=5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">right of Palestinians to carry out armed struggle,</a>” and that it &#8220;unequivocally states that the Zionist state of Israel has <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C9yDEB3PJv6/?img_index=5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no right to exist</a>.”

After The Daily Wire reported on the rally, and Pines’s refusal to cancel it despite the pleading of a campus rabbi, the University System of Maryland, which oversees all state public universities, intervened to ban all campus groups from hosting events on October 7. Pines then issued his own statement on the shutdown, implying that the university was cancelling the rally to protect pro-Palestinian protesters, even though he acknowledged that the police told him there was no evidence of threats to protesters.
Several university presidents have stepped down after enabling anti-Zionism on campus, which often fit with a broader leftist agenda against “colonialism.” One of those presidents, Harvard&#8217;s Claudine Gay, also resigned after journalists discovered she had plagiarized much of her academic writing.

In 2018, an event hosted by Minnesota’s Muslim American Society on Feb. 16, 2018, as The Washington Examiner <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/campaigns/presidential/3118707/walz-called-hitler-promoting-cleric-master-teacher/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, Walz praised a Hitler-promoting imam.
“I would like to first of all say thank you to Imam,” Walz said to Imam Asad Zaman, the Executive Director at the Muslim American Society of Minnesota. “I am a teacher, so when I see a master teacher, I know it. Over the time we’ve spent together, one of the things I’ve had the privilege of is seeing the things in life through the eye of a master teacher, to try and get the understanding.”
“That brings me to the second lesson that Imam taught me,” he continued. “I represent southern Minnesota in the United States Congress, and I’m not telling you anything new here, but Congress is a very broken place right now. It is a place that feeds on fear more than hope, it’s a place that feeds on division more than unity; it’s a place that feeds on trying someone to be the other than to be my brother. And I understood that, and I spent a lifetime making sure that all were welcome.”
“It was a lesson when imam told me to go speak to people,” he said. ‘I have pushed back through my whole career on the demonization of Islam, on the demonization of immigrants. … In this space, Imam Zaman is right on this, there is Islamophobia, there is a hatred that is being stirred.”
Walz has hosted Zaman at least five times, the Examiner <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/campaigns/presidential/3114957/tim-walz-repeatedly-hosted-muslim-cleric-oct-7-pro-hitler-website-link/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>. Those included May 2023 at Walz’s gubernatorial office; a May 2020 event; in April 2019, when the imam gave the invocation before Walz’s state address, and a May 2019 event that Walz hosted for Ramadan.
On October 7, as Hamas brutally massacred over 1200 Israelis, Zaman <a href="https://www.facebook.com/asad.zaman.31542/posts/pfbid0DMPLqKkjEb7djYWLjcByWSi7LRBe8kQmN4M9LQMtXTsBBKrGroZcQ516WxiipENcl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he “stands in solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli attacks.”

University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines threatened to call the police on a Jewish woman for emailing criticism of the school’s response to anti-Semitism, the same week he said freedom of speech meant he couldn&#8217;t stop an anti-Israel group from reserving a campus quad on the anniversary of Hamas&#8217;s October 7 attack, according to emails obtained by The Daily Wire.
The emails show that on August 24, Pines emailed the woman — the mother of a student, who had never emailed the president — asking her to halt all communications with members of the school&#8217;s anti-Semitism task force, lest he &#8220;pursu[e] further action, including, without limitation, seeking the assistance of our University of Maryland Police Department.&#8221;
On August 28, Pines replied to another Maryland resident who expressed concern about the university granting Students For Justice in Palestine (SJP) a reservation to take over nine acres in the center of campus for an October 7 event, similar to one held on the second day of school honoring Palestinian &#8220;martyrs.&#8221; In the email, Pines defended the group, saying it “simply wanted to exercise their first amendment and free speech right to honor those Palestinian lives that have been lost as a result of this conflict.&#8221;
Pines in the email echoed SJP&#8217;s false claim that &#8220;approximately 150,000 lives [have been] lost during this conflict.” Even Hamas estimates the total number killed to be 40,000.
A day after Pines defended SJP&#8217;s planned event, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-maryland-will-let-anti-israel-group-hold-oct-7-rally">reported</a> that the president had approved the event over the objections of the campus rabbi, who conveyed the concerns of Jewish parents and students to Pines. On September 1, the University System of Maryland <a href="https://www.usmd.edu/newsroom/news/2427">intervened</a>, prohibiting all student groups from hosting events on October 7.
The same day, Pines sent an <a href="https://president.umd.edu/articles/remembering-the-one-year-anniversary-of-october-7-2023">email</a> to the university community suggesting the planned SJP event was cancelled to ensure the &#8220;safety&#8221; of the protesters, even though he acknowledged that &#8220;UMPD has assured me that there is no immediate or active threat to prompt this assessment.&#8221; His email did not describe why the October 7 date was significant except to say that it was the “upcoming one-year anniversary of October 7, 2023.”
The University of Maryland was one of several American schools whose campuses were wracked with anti-Semitism in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel that left more than 1,200 dead. In response, Pines announce the creation of a task force dedicated to fighting both anti-Semitism and Islamophobia — though there was no evidence of rampant Islamophobia on campus. The task force included a number of anti-Israel voices, including co-chair Shibley Telhami, who has accused Israelis of poisoning Arabs’ drinking water and smashing children&#8217;s toys, among other claims.
Pines&#8217;s task force also excluded some pro-Israel voices who were nominated, such as Gilad Chen, a Jewish professor, and Jeffrey Herf, a Holocaust expert.
All of this led one Jewish mother of a University of Maryland student to reach out to the task force, pressing it for information about its actions and raising concerns about its composition and asking where the boundaries of acceptable anti-Israel activity would be drawn. After becoming frustrated by a lack of information, she eventually called attention to Telhami&#8217;s social media posts and said &#8220;It’s LUDICROUS that someone who holds hateful views towards Israel (only democracy in the Middle East) and Jews is Chair of a Task Force on antisemitism!!!!  Would you have a KKK member on this Taskforce?&#8221;
The Daily Wire is withholding the names of the parent, and the other Maryland resident who contacted Pines. The parent told The Daily Wire that &#8220;the hypocrisy of it all is shocking,” and that Pines&#8217;s missive only proved the “double standard” that she and other Jewish community members pressed him about.
“There was nothing [harmful in my emails], it was literally begging for accountability,&#8221; she said. &#8220;You established a task force and announced it, and now we’re just asking who’s on it, what’s it doing and when is it being rolled out?”
Pines, who did not respond to a request for comment, did not address the parent&#8217;s questions. Rather, he went on the attack, the emails show.
“It has come to my attention that you have recently sent several emails to certain members of our leadership team and faculty, as well as to the co-chairs of the UMD Joint Presidential-University Senate Task Force on Antisemitism and Islamophobia,&#8221; Pines wrote. &#8220;It is our view that those communications contain INAPPROPRIATE remarks and UNFOUNDED accusations, and otherwise reflect unacceptable behavior by any member of our community.&#8221;

“Immediately cease and refrain from sending any further communications to any members of the Task Force in connection with their work,&#8221; Pines added. Please know that should you fail to comply with this request, we will consider pursuing further action, including, without limitation, seeking the assistance of our University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD).&#8221;

Meanwhile, Pines&#8217;s email to the other resident&#8211;which he also fired off after that resident suggested that Pines, who is black, would have a different standard for speech aimed at blacks compared to speech aimed at Jews&#8211; seemed to contain &#8220;inaccurate&#8221; claims of its own.
Pines claimed that SJP “have both publicly and on social media condemned the horrific attack by Hamas that happened last fall on October 7, 2024 [sic].”
The Daily Wire reviewed the University of Maryland SJP chapter&#8217;s Instagram posts dating back to the terrorist attack and found none condemning Hamas or the terrorist attack. The group posted nothing on October 7, and the next day posted a “demand” that the university boycott and divest from Israel. It subsequently called the Israeli army “war criminals” using a “charade of self-defense” and demanded “Hands off Rahah Now,” referring to the location where Hamas was keeping an American hostage, who it later killed.
In a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C9yDEB3PJv6/?img_index=5">“statement of views,”</a> the SJP chapter said in July that “UMD SJP unequivocally states that the Zionist state of Israel has no right to exist,” and that Palestinians have “the right to resist.&#8221;
“SJP unequivocally stands by international law as it outlaws the indiscriminate killing of civilians and establishes the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C_WntvnPe2D/?img_index=5">right of Palestinians to carry out armed struggle</a>,” the group wrote this week on Instagram.

With a display of force not seen since President Joe Biden told Iran, &#8220;don&#8217;t&#8221; enlist terrorist proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis to attack Israel — or since Vice President Kamala Harris warned migrants, &#8220;do not come&#8221; — Wray urged foreign adversaries to butt out and leave American elections alone.

After President Joe Biden — who has undermined Israel’s war against Hamas by slow-walking military aid and warning Israel not to enter territories where Hamas strongholds existed — responded to Hamas’ brutal point-blank execution of six Israeli hostages by criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for not making enough concessions, Netanyahu fired back.
After news of the executions was reported, Biden was asked by a reporter, &#8220;Do you think it&#8217;s time Prime Minister Netanyahu to do more on this issue, do you think he&#8217;s doing enough?&#8221;
&#8220;No,&#8221; Biden replied.
Netanyahu was clearly angered by the response.
“What has changed in the last five days?” he declared. “What has changed? One thing. These murderers executed six of our hostages. They shot them in the back of the head. That’s what’s changed. And now, after this, we’re asked to show ‘seriousness?’ We’re asked to make concessions? What message does this send Hamas? It says, ‘Kill more hostages. Murder more hostages. You’ll get more concessions.’”
“The pressure internationally must be directed at these killers,” he asserted. “At Hamas. Not at Israel. We say ‘yes,’ they say ‘no’ all the time but they also murdered these people. And now we need maximum pressure on Hamas.”
“I don’t believe that either President Biden or anyone serious about achieving peace and achieving the release would seriously ask Israel — Israel — to make these concessions. We’ve already made them. Hamas has to make the concessions,” he stated.

In an obvious attempt to curry favor with supporters of Israel disillusioned with the Biden-Harris abandonment of support for the Jewish state, the Biden-Harris Department of Justice <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-announces-terrorism-charges-against-senior-leaders-hamas">announced</a> on Tuesday they declared six leaders of Hamas as terrorists, three of whom are already dead. The fig-leaf action rings hollow in the face of the administration’s unceasing criticism of the Israeli government and lack of support for the war effort.
In June, Tennessee GOP senator Bill Hagerty slammed the Biden administration from withholding arms to Israel that had been approved by Congress, snapping they should “get out of Israel’s way.”
“The norm is for the Executive Branch to submit formal notifications to Congress roughly 48-72 hours after committees informally cleared proposed arms sales,” he stated. “But the Biden Admin is violating this norm amid Israel’s multi-front war. It’s shocking what @POTUS @JoeBiden  is doing to Israel as our ally faces its darkest hour. As SFRC ranking member @SenatorRisch  put it, it’s time for the Biden Administration to get out of Israel’s way &amp; let it defeat these Iran-backed terrorists!”
Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/391751">said</a>:

The U.S. Justice Department announced criminal charges Tuesday afternoon against six senior leaders in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hamas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hamas</a>, an Iranian-backed terrorist organization based in Gaza, over their role in carrying out the October 7 massacre against U.S. and Israeli citizens last year.
The six Hamas officials who were charged in the indictment include Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of Hamas’ Politburo; Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas; Mohammad Al-Masri, commander in chief of the al-Qassam Brigades; Marwan Issa, deputy commander of the al-Qassam Brigades; Khaled Meshaal, chairman of Hamas’ Politburo from approximately 2004 to 2017 and who is now the head of Hamas’ diaspora office; and Ali Baraka, 57, Hamas’ head of National Relations Abroad since approximately 2019.
Of the six who were charged, three have been killed in recent months in response to the terrorist attack that they carried out. Those killed include Haniyeh, Al-Masri, and Issa.
The Justice Department said all of the defendants &#8220;have orchestrated, overseen, and supported Hamas’s decades-long campaign of terrorism, including the October 7 Hamas Massacres.&#8221;
The DOJ highlighted other acts of terrorism that the Palestinian terrorist group is responsible for, including suicide bombings of restaurants, markets, public transportation systems, and other public spaces.
&#8220;As of the date of the complaint, over 40 American citizens were among those murdered, and at least eight American citizens were taken hostage or remain unaccounted for,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;Most recently, Hamas executed a U.S. citizen who was taken hostage by Hamas during the October 7 Hamas Massacres and remained in captivity until he was murdered.&#8221;
Prosecutors said that Hamas&#8217; ability to carry out terrorist attacks is fueled by the Islamic Republic of Iran, &#8220;particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its Qods Force (IRGC-QF) — the element of the IRGC responsible for conducting external terrorism operations and providing support to terrorist groups — which has supported, supplied, and trained Hamas, and by the Lebanon-based Shia Islamic terrorist organization Hezbollah.&#8221;
&#8220;Hamas raises money to fund its terrorist activities through a variety of methods, including by soliciting and receiving cryptocurrency payments, advertising the ostensible anonymity of such transactions,&#8221; prosecutors said, noting that the terror group has raised tens of millions of dollars from supporters around the world, including in the U.S., who have knowingly given money to the group for the intent of financing terrorism.

Each of the defendants were charged with conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization resulting in death, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison; conspiring to provide material support for acts of terrorism resulting in death, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison; conspiring to murder U.S. nationals outside the United States, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison; conspiring to bomb a place of public use resulting in death, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life in prison; conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction resulting in death, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life in prison; conspiring to finance terrorism, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison; and conspiring to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Attorney General Merrick Garland said that the indictment was just one part of the U.S.&#8217; efforts to hold Hamas accountable for its acts of terrorism.

Over the weekend, we got absolutely horrifying news: Six Israeli hostages, including one Israeli-American whose parents spoke at the Democratic National Convention, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/american-israeli-hersh-goldberg-polin-among-six-dead-hostages-recovered-by-israeli-forces-in-rafah">were executed</a> by the terrorist group Hamas.
It&#8217;s not just that the bodies of the hostages were found; it&#8217;s how they were found. You&#8217;ll recall that last week Israel freed a Bedouin Muslim Israeli citizen who was found in one of the terror tunnels. At just about that time, Hamas terrorists shot to death those six hostages, who had been held in captivity since October 7, over 300 days ago.
They were held in darkness, in captivity, in conditions of torture. And then they were shot point-blank in the back of the head.
The absolute horror of that — keeping these six hostages alive for over 300 days and then shooting them point-blank in the back of the head — underscores how deeply evil Hamas is.
It&#8217;s easy to forget how evil Hamas is because October 7 was almost a year ago. Everyone was shocked by the murderous, rape-filled rampage Hamas did that day — the taking of hostages, including babies who are still being held hostage right now the rampant executions and rape.
The entire situation turned into war because the Israeli Defense Force went into Gaza in order to dismantle Hamas, in order to destroy their infrastructure, in order to take over the Philadelphi Corridor (which is the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip), in order to take over the Netzarim Corridor, which runs across the middle of the Gaza Strip, and establish military control.
A lot of talk turned to how Israel was prosecuting the war. Could they do it faster? Could they do it quickly? Could they do it more humanely? 
Meanwhile, everyone ignored just how evil Hamas is.

And then they executed the six hostages with a bullet to the head. And that reminded people that these are human monsters who are willing to hold hostages for over 300 days and then shoot them point-blank in the head to prevent them from being liberated. The IDF got close to rescuing the hostages and now Hamas is boasting that they murdered the hostages because the IDF <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/hamas-hints-6-slain-hostages-extracted-by-idf-from-gaza-over-weekend-were-murdered-because-troops-were-near/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was getting close</a>.
This is what Hamas does. This is why Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas who is hiding underground right now, has surrounded himself, according to reports, by upward of 20 hostages, presumably including women and children, hoping that Israel will leave him alone because otherwise he&#8217;s going to threaten to shoot the women and shoot the children.
After the hostages were executed, Hamas, just to add insult to injury, decided that they were going to release hostage videos of the six people they murdered. And they are heartbreaking.
There has been contemporaneous documentation found in the terror tunnels in which Hamas explains what they are attempting to do; to be so brutal and so vicious and so evil that it creates serious political schisms within Israeli society.
As Netanyahu has pointed out, on one side you have a free democracy that is allied with the West and on the other side you have the world&#8217;s worst terror group. But somehow the West has found a unique way to decide that that the terror group deserves compassion, deserves concession, deserves some level of recognition and decency, when in reality, every member of Hamas up to and including the leadership, deserves nothing but death because that is what they have brought upon themselves through their violation of basic human norms and standards of basic human decency.
The notion from the West that Israel is the one that needs to be pressed to make concessions to the terrorists is totally insane and speaks to an ulterior political motive on the part of Americans and Britons who are pushing this sort of nonsense.
The reality is the only way to win a war is to actually win the war. The reason the West has not won a major war since World War II is because it has forgotten that basic notion — that the way to win a war is to win the war. When the West wins, it&#8217;s not because there is some sort of peace agreement that is signed, it&#8217;s because its enemies are utterly defeated.
The fact that the West is even considering leaving Hamas in place or creating a “Palestinian state,” which would immediately be run and staffed by the very same people who are currently holding hostages along with their best friends in the Palestinian Authority and Islamic Jihad, is totally insane.
The narrative you&#8217;re hearing from the Biden-Harris administration is that Netanyahu has made no concessions to Hamas.
There are actions that the United States could have taken to bring pressure on Hamas. Joe Biden has done virtually none of them. All of it derives from the leftist narrative that there is some sort of moral equivalence or parity in all human relations, which means that when someone is evil — the more you believe in moral relativism, if you believe that it&#8217;s just a matter of perspective — then what that means is that the more evil you are, the more there must be a justification to your evil, because otherwise you wouldn&#8217;t be evil.
If you are a moral relativist, the way that the Left is when it comes to these matters, then your belief is the more evilly you behave, the more you have been victimized. The victim/victimizer matrix is undefeated in terms of stupidity and immorality.
Take a look at the headlines from the legacy media over the murder of the six hostages. <a href="https://x.com/DrEliDavid/status/1830297753185898620" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>: “Israeli-American hostage has died.”
“Has died?” Did he die of old age? Is that what happened? Was it cancer?
Here&#8217;s what actually happened to Hersh Goldberg-Polin. On October 7, he was at the Nova Festival. He had his arm blown off by Hamas. They then sawed off his arm. They kept him alive for 300 days and then they shot him point-blank in the head.

Imagine for a moment you&#8217;re at a music festival. You are taken hostage by the world&#8217;s worst vicious human beings. You are held alive underground for 300 days with the shred of hope that maybe the IDF would find you. And then as the IDF comes close, Hamas puts you down and they shoot you in the back of the head.
But the headline from the legacy media is they somehow just randomly died, as if they died in a car accident.
Joe Biden&#8217;s initial response to the six hostages being murdered? “Earlier today, in a tunnel under the city of Rafah, Israeli forces recovered six bodies of hostages held by Hamas.”
That’s rich, coming from him, because Israeli troops would have been in Rafah in February or March if it had not been for the Biden administration, which withheld munitions from the Israelis to prevent them from doing operations in Rafah.
Israel kept saying they needed to go into Rafah to go get the hostages and to extirpate Hamas. Meanwhile, Biden warned that a major Israeli operation in Rafah was a “red line” that could cause him to cancel arms to support Israel. In March Harris <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-3-24-24-sen-marco-rubio/story?id=108441678" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, “We have been clear in multiple conversations and in every way that any major military operation in Rafah would be a huge mistake,” adding that there would be “consequences” if Israel went into Rafah, as National Review <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/kamala-harris-warned-israel-of-consequences-if-it-invaded-rafah-where-hamas-just-murdered-an-american-hostage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pointed out</a>. 
The reason Hamas did not want Israel to go into Rafah was because it is a Hamas stronghold. They did not want Israel to shut down the terror tunnels to Egypt. They did not want Israel to find hostages and free them.
Biden, because he&#8217;s a cretin both intellectually and morally, was asked on Monday — as he made his way back after 17 days of vacation being a useless moldering corpse at the beach —  about the so-called cease-fire deal. He was asked if it was “&#8230;time for Prime Minister Netanyahu to do more on this issue? Do you think he’s doing enough?

The Israeli Left, intent on finding a way to topple Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government, tried to implement a labor strike that would have crippled the country while it is at war with the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah and suffered a disastrous defeat.
Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David had called for a strike to start on Sunday, ostensibly because he argued that the government was not doing enough to bring hostages back  — a spurious claim as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has conducted successful operations to rescue hostages and Netanyahu has repeatedly accepted cease-fire proposals which Hamas has always rejected — but in reality was an attempt to bring the right-wing government down.
But Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, with the consent of Netanyahu, filed an injunction with Israel’s labor court to block the strike. The Gvura Forum, which represents family members of fallen soldiers, filed a similar injunction.

“The court ruled soon after hearing the case that since the strike was &#8216;a protest&#8217; by nature and not related to workers’ rights, it needed to have been coordinated in advance and lasted for a limited period of a few hours,” the Jerusalem Post <a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-817363">reported</a>. “The strike was announced less than 12 hours prior to its start and was not limited, and was therefore illegal, the court ruled. The court added that the ruling was only relevant to the Histadrut and that other unions as well as business forums were not included.”
“The days where someone harnesses the power of organized work to advance political interests” were over, “especially during a war and when it serves the interests of Hamas and [its leader Yahya] Sinwar.”
“A large number of municipalities and regional councils did not join Monday&#8217;s strike,” Israel National News <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/395592">noted</a>.

Two U.S. Marines were assaulted in western Turkey on Monday by a mob of angry Turkish nationalists who placed a bag over the head of one Marine while chanting, &#8220;Yankee, go home!&#8221;
The Marines, who are assigned to the USS Wasp, were walking on the street in Izmir in civilian clothing when a group of men &#8220;physically attacked&#8221; them, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/two-u-s-marines-ambushed-assaulted-mob-turkish-nationalists-yankee-go-home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The angry mob was reportedly a group from the Youth Union of Turkey, an anti-American student association.
Five more Marines stepped in to stop the group before Turkish authorities arrived and arrested 15 men who had attacked the Marines. Video shows the Americans being surrounded by a group of shouting men as they placed a bag over the head of one of the Marines The footage was posted online by the Youth Union of Turkey.

The two Marines who were attacked were not injured in the incident, according to the U.S. military.
&#8220;We can confirm reports that U.S. service members embarked aboard the USS Wasp were the victims of an assault in İzmir today, and are now safe,&#8221; the U.S. Embassy in Turkey said. &#8220;We thank Turkish authorities for their rapid response and ongoing investigation.&#8221;
U.S. Navy Cmdr. Timothy Gorman said that no Marines had been detained, adding, &#8220;Local Izmir police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service are cooperating in an investigation of the incident.
The Youth Union of Turkey defended the attack on U.S. Marines, saying in a statement obtained by Reuters, &#8220;U.S. soldiers who carry the blood of our soldiers and thousands of Palestinians on their hands cannot dirty our country. Every time you step foot in these lands, we will meet you the way you deserve.&#8221;

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unloaded on President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for once again urging Israel to show restraint — even in the immediate aftermath of Hamas terrorists executing six more hostages in Rafah.
Upon receiving the news that 23-year-old American Israeli hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin was among the hostages — who were reportedly executed just a short time before their bodies were discovered by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) — Biden and Harris each released statements condemning Hamas. But then Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-blames-israels-netanyahu-for-stalled-hostage-negotiations-after-american-killed-by-hamas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lashed out directly</a> at Netanyahu, saying that he did not believe the Israeli Prime Minister was &#8220;doing enough&#8221; to help secure a deal with Hamas for the release of all remaining hostages.
Netanyahu argued that since the unprovoked attacks visited upon Israel by Hamas on October 7th, 2023, Israel had made concessions. Israel had exercised restraint. And Israel had done much of that at the request of the Biden-Harris administration, even when Hamas repeatedly refused to make reciprocal concessions.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made an attempt at damage control — following a wave of backlash for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tim-walz-turns-his-back-on-person-asking-about-hostages-murdered-by-hamas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">refusing to address</a> the six hostages found dead in Gaza — and critics made it clear that they weren&#8217;t impressed with his response.
Walz was initially approached on Sunday at the Minnesota State Fair, and while the Democratic Party&#8217;s vice presidential nominee appeared to be enjoying himself up to that point, he turned his back and walked away the minute someone asked about the six hostages found by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Rafah.

Hours later, after video of the exchange spread across social media, Walz attempted damage control and posted a statement about one of the hostages who was among the dead, 23-year-old American-Israeli Hersh Goldberg-Polin.
&#8220;The anguish of losing a child is something no family should have to endure. Gwen and I send our deepest condolences to the Goldberg-Polin family, after Hamas’ murder of their son Hersh,&#8221; Walz said. &#8220;Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization — and we condemn their continued atrocities against both Americans and Israelis in the strongest possible terms.&#8221;
Critics pushed back, however, saying that Walz&#8217;s statement was too little too late — particularly after the way he&#8217;d responded when asked about the situation earlier.

On Monday, two days after six Israel hostages were found to have been <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/autopsy-finds-6-hostages-shot-multiple-times-at-close-range-in-last-48-72-hours/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">executed by Hamas</a> by being shot multiple times from close range, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy of the Labour Party announced the United Kingdom would suspend some arms sales to Israel.
Roughly 30 arms sales licenses will be suspended, including parts for parts for fighter jets, helicopters and drones, the BBC <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cd05pk95j2xo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“Facing a conflict such as this, it is this government&#8217;s legal duty to review Britain&#8217;s export licences,” Lammy told Parliament. “This is not a blanket ban, this is not an arms embargo. &#8230; the government will not issue export licenses if there is a clear risk that the items might be used to commit or facilitate serious violations of international humanitarian law. It is with regret that I inform the House today, the assessment I have received leaves me unable to conclude anything other than that for certain UK arms exports to Israel, there does exist a clear risk that they might be used to commit or facilitate a serious violation of international humanitarian law.”
Yet Lammy also revealed he had started a review of British arms exports to Israel after his party took over in July. He admitted the review “could not arbitrate on whether or not Israel has breached international humanitarian law,” saying lamely, “This is a forward-looking evaluation, not a determination of innocence or guilt.”
“The UK’s decision to suspend arms export licenses to Israel is a betrayal of the free world,” Israeli Knesset member Dan Illouz of Likud fired back, as Israel National News <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/395564" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.  “On October 7th, Hamas brutally slaughtered babies in their cribs, burned entire families alive, and murdered children and parents in their homes. IDF soldiers are fighting and sacrificing their lives not just for Israel, but to defend the entire free world. If Israel doesn’t defeat this terror, you will be next. It’s time for the world to wake up.&#8221;
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant echoed, “Deeply disheartened to learn of the sanctions placed by the U.K. Government on export licenses to Israel’s defense establishment. This comes at a time when we fight a war on 7 different fronts &#8211; a war that was launched by a savage terrorist organization, unprovoked. At a time when we mourn 6 hostages who were executed in cold blood by Hamas inside tunnels in Gaza. At a time when we fight to bring 101 hostages home. &#8230; I stand by our troops and security agencies working with immense courage, professionalism and moral values. We remain committed to defending the State of Israel and her people.”
In early August, Jewish members of the Labour Party penned a <a href="https://www.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/article-813455" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to Prime Minister Keir Starmer in which they accused him of heightening anti-Semitism.
“Instead of public outreach to show you understand and empathize with our experiences since Oct 7, your actions have exacerbated the situation,” they charged. “Knowing that Israel serves as a cipher for a loud and increasingly confident section of people to attack Jews, you have chosen to appease instead of confronting bullies.”
“Objections to the ICC case were dropped, funding to UNRWA was resumed (effectively aiding Hamas atrocities) and now you propose an arms embargo while Hezbollah is deliberately killing Israeli children,” they continued. “You have also said that the British Government will formally recognize a Palestinian state, seemingly without putting any conditions in place to ensure its democracy or to safeguard its neighbor. This sends a message internationally that the brutal terrorism of Hamas should be rewarded, and domestically that the nasty bullying of MPs (including those in your party) by hate groups is effective.”
