Socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani lamented on Friday that — after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States — his Muslim aunt could no longer take the subway because she wore a hijab.
Mamdani made the comment while delivering a speech on Islamophobia in front of a mosque one day before early voting begins for the heated NYC mayor&#8217;s race. The speech focused on condemning attacks against him from his opponents, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, that he claims are &#8220;racist&#8221; and &#8220;baseless.&#8221; During the speech on Islamophobia, Mamdani fought back tears when he talked about his aunt.
&#8220;I want to speak to the memory of my aunt, who stopped taking the subway after September 11th because she did not feel safe in her hijab,&#8221; he said.
The remark unintentionally evoked the famous Norm Macdonald quip, when the late comedian <a href="https://x.com/normmacdonald/status/809637479674281984?lang=en">said</a>, &#8220;What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?&#8221;

Later during the speech, Mamdani spoke about his own experience as a Muslim and again brought up 9/11.
&#8220;Growing up in the shadow of 9/11, I have known what it means to live with an undercurrent of suspicion in this city,&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;To be Muslim in New York is to expect indignity, but indignity does not make us distinct. There are many New Yorkers who face it. It is the tolerance of that indignity that does.&#8221;

On Thursday, Mamdani called an exchange between Cuomo and a conservative radio host &#8220;disgusting&#8221; after they <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/23/nyregion/cuomo-mamdani-sept-11.html">discussed</a> what a terror attack on New York City would look like with Mamdani leading the city.
“God forbid another 9/11, can you imagine Mamdani in the seat?” Cuomo asked.
“Yeah, I could,” replied radio host Sid Rosenberg. “He’d be cheering.”
Cuomo chuckled and then responded, saying, “That’s another problem.&#8221;
Mamdani decried the exchange, saying that Cuomo &#8220;in his final moments in public life is engaging in rhetoric that is not only Islamophobic, not only racist, is also disgusting, and is his final closing argument with less than two weeks before Election Day.”
Mamdani, who is pushing a socialist platform, has long taken strong anti-Israel positions, such as advocating for boycotting Israeli institutions. Mamdani, who was once a rap artist, <a href="https://www.thefp.com/p/look-em-up-mamdani-praised-men-found">praised</a> men in a song who were convicted in the United States of providing material support to Hamas.
During his speech on Friday, the socialist mayoral candidate said that recent &#8220;racist&#8221; attacks on him have shown him that he was &#8220;wrong&#8221; for thinking that he could become more than his faith.
&#8220;I thought that if I behaved well enough or bit my tongue enough in the face of racist, baseless attacks, all while returning back to my central message, it would allow me to be more than just my faith,&#8221; Mamdani added. &#8220;I was wrong. No amount of redirection is ever enough.&#8221;

Florida Congressman Randy Fine and Texas Rep. Keith Self on Friday introduced legislation that would ensure that Sharia law cannot be implemented anywhere in the United States.
The “No Shari’a Act” would prohibit the application of Sharia “where such application would violate constitutional rights,” according to a copy of the legislation shared with The Daily Wire. Both Fine and Self said that the measure was intended to protect Western culture and ensure that the United States would not be taken over by Islamic radicals. 
“We are not going to become a Muslim nation. There are plenty out there,” Fine told The Daily Wire. “If you want to live under Sharia, return to where you came from, but we’re not interested in you coming here and conquering our country.”
Self said the influence of Shariah was already present in Texas. 
“We cannot have two sets of laws,” he told The Daily Wire. “There is one in the United States. It&#8217;s called the U.S. Constitution and the state laws under states of course, but we cannot have two different civilizations with different laws.”
The issue came to a head in Texas with controversy over the planned EPIC City development outside Dallas that was intended to be a Muslim community. Critics worried that the development would implement Sharia.
The legislation says that the “the Constitution of the United States is and must remain the supreme law of the land, and no foreign law or legal system may be permitted to undermine it” and that “no court shall enforce a judgment, decree, or arbitration decision if it relies, in whole or in part, on Shari’a or any foreign law that violates the constitutional rights of any party.”
Fine referenced the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/muslim-mayor-in-dearborn-michigan-tells-christian-resident-you-are-not-welcome-here">recent confrontation</a> in Dearborn, Michigan, where a Christian resident was told he was not welcome in the city by Muslim Mayor Abdullah Hammoud after he spoke out in opposition to naming a street after Arab American publisher Osama Siblani.
“We do not want to replicate this barbaric Middle Age philosophy in this country, and we need to make that clear, this is not welcome in the United States,” Fine said. “We need to respond to the Islamists saying Christians are not welcome in Dearborn by saying, no, you are not welcome here.”
Self said that Sharia allows for child marriages, husbands to beat their wives, honor killings, and genital mutilation. He said these practices were “not compatible with U.S. law, U.S. Constitution, and our civilization.”

In a move sparking national backlash, a Houston-based imam affiliated with the Nation of Islam <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15078883/Sharia-patrols-Texas-alcohol-pork-ban.html">launched a campaign</a> demanding Muslim-owned stores stop selling pork, alcohol, and gambling products—or face public protests. Imam F. Qasim ibn Ali Khan of Masjid At-Tawhid, speaking in viral videos circulating on TikTok and X, issued ultimatums to shop owners, warning that demonstrations will escalate unless “haram” items are purged from their inventory.
“We’re just getting started,” Khan told one store clerk. “In 30 days, we’re going city-wide.”
His message? Sharia compliance or public shaming. Khan&#8217;s demonstrations in front of local businesses have drawn comparisons to hardline “Sharia patrol” tactics seen in radicalized areas of Europe.
Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott didn’t mince words in response.
“I signed laws that BAN Sharia Law and Sharia Compounds in Texas,” he posted on X. “No business &amp; no individual should fear fools like this.”
Abbott urged Texans to report any attempts to impose Sharia compliance to law enforcement or the Department of Public Safety.

Critics warn the imam’s campaign is not only coercive but a potential flashpoint for creeping extremism. Videos show Khan confronting Muslim shopkeepers, insisting they’re violating Islamic law by selling forbidden products.
“We should love what Allah allows and hate what Allah hates,” he said while leading demonstrators through inner-city neighborhoods. “Little by little, one by one, we’re going to be visiting all the stores.”
Although no violence has been reported, the rhetoric is undeniable. Khan calls it da’wah—religious outreach—but the optics tell a different story. Armed with protest signs and camera crews, Khan accuses fellow Muslims of betraying their faith for profit, warning that the “best of the community” will only be realized through strict Islamic adherence.
Khan’s mosque, Masjid At-Tawhid, flies a Palestinian flag and employs private security personnel in uniforms that resemble local police. His red henna-dyed beard and firebrand style have become a visual marker of his strict Sharia-first ideology. While his protests remain within the bounds of free speech—for now—his message is unmistakable: Muslim-majority areas should adhere to Islamic principles, or face public pressure.
This comes amid broader concerns over Sharia-linked developments in Texas. Earlier this year, Abbott announced the state had halted construction on the so-called “EPIC City”—a proposed Muslim-only community near Dallas allegedly designed to operate under Sharia law.
“There is no construction taking place,” Abbott said, confirming multiple state and federal investigations into the project’s legality. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Attorney General Ken Paxton both raised constitutional concerns over religious discrimination and segregation.
Abbott connected the dots: “Texas takes matters like this seriously,” he wrote. “This is America. We don’t bend the law for imported ideologies.”
The rise of self-declared Islamic enforcers like Imam Khan—armed with a smartphone and a platform—signals a growing clash between religious radicalism and American law and culture. For now, Texans aren’t having it.

Israel’s audacious strikes on Iran’s nuclear and military sites, swiftly followed by U.S. precision attacks on the same infrastructure, have decisively targeted the heart of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, exposing the grave threat they pose. Yet, astonishingly, many on America’s left are waving Iranian flags in the streets, while misinformed citizens and members of Congress flood social media, decrying the U.S. strikes as unnecessary and escalatory. 
Allow me to explain why they’re wrong and why Iran’s relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons left Israel and the United States with no choice but to act … and act decisively.
A state of hostility has existed between Israel and Iran for almost 45 years, ever since the 1979 Iranian Revolution. As a result, “Death to Israel” has been not merely a slogan, but the goal of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On June 13, 2025, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a massive wave of attacks within Iran, carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel’s Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (Mossad). The target: Iran’s nuclear and military installations.
Why did Israel take such bold preemptive action? Why were Israel’s leaders convinced that Iran’s nuclear program threatened the very existence of the Jewish State?
Few Westerners understand how the tensions between Iran and Israel have largely been driven by the fanatical theological beliefs of Iran’s ruling elite. We need to understand why Shiite Islam — the dominant belief system of Iran — makes Cold War models of nuclear deterrence obsolete.
Islam is not a monolithic faith, neither is Christianity. Much of Christianity is divided into Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox branches, while Islam is also deeply divided — most significantly between Sunnis and Shiites. The divisions within Islam, however, are far more violent than any disagreements within present-day Christianity, and have produced centuries of war and death.
The schisms within Islam date back to the death of Muhammad in AD 632, when a dispute arose over who should lead the Muslim community. Sunnis supported Abu Bakr, a companion of Muhammad. Shiites backed Muhammad’s son-in-law, Ali. This dispute produced a violent split that has raged for nearly fourteen centuries.
The defining moment in Shiite history was the martyrdom of Hussein, the grandson of Muhammad, at the Battle of Karbala in AD 680. Hussein was killed by forces loyal to the Sunni-dominated Umayyad Caliphate. To Shiites, Karbala still symbolizes righteous resistance against oppression and false doctrine. Some Shia movements consider themselves divinely appointed minorities struggling against corrupt Sunni majorities. Shiites comprise only 10 to 15% of the Muslim world. Iran, however, has been a Shiite stronghold since 1501, when the Safavid dynasty declared Twelver Shiism the state religion of Persia. Twelver Shiism is centered on the belief in the Twelfth Imam (the Mahdi). According to Twelver belief, there were twelve Imams (rightful successors to Muhammad, all from Ali’s lineage). The twelfth was Muhammad al-Mahdi, who supposedly went into occultation (miraculous hiddenness) as a child in the 9th century. Twelvers believe the Twelfth Imam is still alive and will one day come forth to impose Islamic rule over the world.
Here’s where Iran’s present-day nuclear doctrines meet Iran’s ancient theological doctrines: Some factions within Iran’s clerical leadership believe that the Mahdi’s return will be hastened by global destruction and war. These radical scholars teach that apocalyptic war is a necessary requirement for the Mahdi to be revealed. In this view, Iran’s struggle against Israel and Western civilization is part of a divine plan for return of the Mahdi.
This theological doctrine makes a nuclear-armed Iran unthinkably dangerous. During the Cold War, the logic of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) kept nuclear superpowers from attacking each other, because any nuclear attack would invite annihilation.
But if Iran’s leaders believe that nuclear war would hasten the return of a long-prophesied messiah-figure, they would actually be highly motivated to start a nuclear war, regardless of the consequences. Iran’s apocalyptic clerics have a powerful incentive to pull the nuclear trigger — the fulfillment of ancient prophecies and the establishment of a global caliphate.
Do Iran’s leaders really dream of launching a nuclear war?
In October 2003, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a fatwa (religious ruling) declaring nuclear weapons un-Islamic and forbidden. The Iranian government has repeatedly cited this fatwa and claimed that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
Western analysts, however, are skeptical of Iran’s claims.
Peaceful nuclear technologies (for power plants or nuclear medicine) require low-enriched uranium containing no more than 20% of isotope uranium-235. Most commercial nuclear power plants use only 2 to 4% uranium-235. But Iran is enriching uranium to levels above 60%, far beyond any “peaceful” use of nuclear energy. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran has amassed enough highly enriched uranium to assemble nine nuclear warheads. This troubling development has prompted Israel to eliminate the threat of Iran’s nuclear program.
While not all Iranian leaders believe they can hasten the Mahdi’s return through war, the prevalence of such views within Tehran threatens to transform the Middle East into a nuclear hellscape. That is why Western and Israeli policymakers must take theology into account as they assess the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran.
In these uncertain days, Christians around the world must unite in prayer. We easily forget that there are many Christian believers in Iran right now, suffering intense persecution. We must pray for their strength and safety and for God to give the Iranian and the Israeli people wisdom for the days ahead. Pray also that, in this time of war, God will turn many hearts back to Him.

As a Coptic Christian born in Egypt and as a person who spent years in academia — including earning a Ph.D. from Emory University in Atlanta studying radical Islamic movements — I speak with authority when I warn against the menace of Islamism, which is overwhelmingly invading the West.
For decades, I’ve warned that this ideology is not just incompatible with Western civilization; it rejects coexistence entirely, seeking takeover. Now, Islamists have formed an unholy alliance with Marxists — two groups who would normally be at each other’s throats, yet now are uniting throughout Europe and North America for the purpose of wreaking havoc on the West. Their ultimate purpose is to build a seventh-century Arabian desert Utopia out of the wreckage of Western civilization.

These incidents are not isolated; they’re harbingers of chaos fueled by open borders and judicial obstruction. Christians and moral people everywhere must wake up, discern the truth, and reclaim our culture before it’s lost. We must share Christ’s gospel boldly. Make no mistake about it: Even if Westerners themselves aren’t aware of it, Western civilization is the byproduct of the Christian reformation of the 14th century.
Radical Islam’s goal is clear: not compatibility, but a global caliphate. In &#8220;<a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/1496431502/?bestFormat=true&amp;k=the%20third%20jihad%20by%20michael%20youssef&amp;ref_=nb_sb_ss_w_scx-ent-pd-bk-d_de_k0_1_16&amp;crid=385NJPDUXR79B&amp;sprefix=the%20third%20jihad%20">The Third Jihad,&#8221;</a> I explain how a holy war is underway, not only with terror but by stealth, with some even aiming to impose an Islamic State of North America by 2050. This “third jihad,” unlike the sword-driven first jihad (622–751) or second jihad (1302–1922), uses our freedoms — migration, legal systems, cultural sway — to infiltrate and dominate. The Quran’s call to “hijrah” (jihad by migration) urges Muslims to spread Islam, viewing relocation as sacred. In Europe, chants of “Allah give victory to Islam everywhere” accompany unassimilated enclaves. France’s nine million Muslims, with birthrates outpacing natives ten to one, are building mosques and shifting culture, often rejecting Western values. Britain’s Sharia councils erode sovereignty, operating as parallel legal systems. This isn’t integration; it’s conquest.
Violence isn’t the only threat. We now face cultural erosion. Radical Islamists exploit our systems. In &#8220;<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Hidden-Enemy-Aggressive-Secularism-Radical/dp/1496431456/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0">The Hidden Enemy</a>,&#8221; I noted, “The enemy without [radical Islam] seeks a caliphate; the enemy within [secular leftists] erases Judeo-Christian values.” Their alliance is stark: leftists, rejecting biblical truth, defend Sharia advocates like Linda Sarsour, who co-led the 2017 Women’s March alongside abortion and LGBTQ champions. Political correctness brands critics “Islamophobic,” shielding this pact. Secularism’s spiritual vacuum — evident since Jesse Jackson’s 1987 chant, “Western Civ has got to go!” — invites Islamists to fill the void, using welfare, courts, and media to advance their agenda. As Christianity fades, with Europe’s churches now museums, radical Islam sees our culture as “overripe fruit,” ripe for conquest. 
Recent events underscore the stakes. January 2025’s ISIS-inspired <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-agent-in-charge-who-said-new-orleans-attack-was-not-a-terrorist-event-reportedly-reassigned?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=FBI+Agent+In+Charge+Who+Said+New+Orleans+Attack+Was+%E2%80%98Not+A+Terrorist+Event%E2%80%99+Reportedly+Reassigned">New Orleans attack</a>, killing 14, exposed our vulnerability. In Cyprus, recent protests <a href="https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2025/05/03/turkish-cypriots-protest-over-what-they-say-is-turkeys-introduction-of-islam-into-educatio">accused Turkey</a> of imposing political Islam, eroding secular roots — a warning for the West. X posts amplify these concerns, decrying Sharia’s quiet spread. Pacifying radicals, as we did before the Taliban’s 2021 victory, breeds extremism. Historically, Christians stopped Islamic conquests at Tours (732) and Vienna (1683). Today’s fight is spiritual and cultural, yet many Christians stay silent, cowed by “tolerance.” As I have stated before, this deception is “from the pit of hell.” Excusing non-assimilation or Sharia zones surrenders our heritage. 
The open <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/border-crisis">border crisis</a> amplifies this. Over four years, lax policies and judicial blocks have imported chaos. The Boulder attacker, an illegal migrant, embodies the risk: unchecked entry brings ideologies that fuel <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/colorado-hits-egyptian-anti-israel-terror-suspect-with-charges-including-murder?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=19&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Colorado+Hits+Egyptian+Anti-Israel+Terror+Suspect+With+Charges+Including+Murder">antisemitism and violence</a>. If we don’t enforce borders, we’ll see more D.C. and Boulder tragedies. Radical Islam isn’t here to blend in — it’s here to dominate, as my decades studying its trappings confirm. 
So, what must Christians do? First, go to God’s Word, not headlines. Second, evangelize boldly. Understand the darkness of radical Islam, but love Muslim people. The gospel is our power, so we must find the courage to share Christ with Muslim neighbors. Third, fortify churches. Pastors must preach unapologetically, equipping believers to counter secularism and Islamism. Congregations should disciple families, mentor youth, and pray for God to move. 
The stakes are eternal. In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus warned of wolves in sheep’s clothing. Radical Islam cloaks its takeover in tolerance, but its aim is a caliphate, not coexistence. Antisemitism will surge as unvetted migration grows. Yet hope endures. The early church faced Rome and won souls through love. We can, too. Christians, rise up. The Dutch government collapsed on Tuesday after the Party for Freedom led by Geert Wilders pulled out of the coalition over the government’s asylum policy.
Wilders had been adamant leading up to the collapse that without strict restrictions on immigration, his party would leave the coalition government. Wilders made good on those threats Tuesday.
“We had no choice. I promised the voters the strictest asylum policy ever, but that was not granted to you,” said Wilders, according to <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/europe/far-right-geert-wilders-torpedoes-dutch-coalition-over-immigration-92e2d0d0">The Wall Street Journal</a>.
The Netherlands’ prime minister, Dick Schoof, said Tuesday following the Party for Freedom’s exit that he would hand his resignation to the king. Schoof’s government toppled less than a year after taking office.
The prime minister said that he and the other ministers, minus those with the Party for Freedom, would stay on as a caretaker government until new elections can be held, according to <a href="https://www.politico.eu/article/geert-wilders-dutch-government-collapse/">Politico</a>.
The Party for Freedom is the largest party currently in the Dutch parliament and is the most popular party overall, though its lead in popularity is slim. Public support for Wilders’ party <a href="https://www.politico.eu/europe-poll-of-polls/netherlands/">sits</a> at 20%, down from a high of 33% last year. The Labour-Green Left party is close behind with 19% support. The People&#8217;s Party for Freedom and Democracy follows in third with 18%.
Wilders has agitated over the government&#8217;s approach to asylum, demanding a hard stance on immigration outlined in a 10-point plan he released early last week. The plan <a href="https://apnews.com/article/netherlands-wilders-asylum-seekers-government-980e3d47fa57ed490ae71609b4afd642">called</a> for a temporary pause on new asylees until the backlog can be worked through, and a return of Syrian nationals to their country now that the civil war is over.

Wilders also pushed for a “one strike you’re out” policy to deport any migrants convicted of violent or sexual crimes.
Wilders has focused in particular on Islamic immigration into the Netherlands and Europe at large. In the past, he has warned of “an Islamic invasion” of Europe and called for the “de-Islamization” of the Netherlands.
Schoof called Wilders’ exit from the government “unnecessary and irresponsible.”
“If one party lacks the will to continue [to carry out the government program], you cannot move forward with each other,” he added.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Wilders said he “signed up to the strictest asylum policy, not the downfall of The Netherlands.”

Last week, I was honored to be appointed by President Donald Trump to serve on the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/2025/05/president-donald-trump-names-advisory-board-members-to-the-religious-liverty-commission/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Advisory Board</a> of Religious Leaders for the newly established U.S. <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/establishment-of-the-religious-liberty-commission/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Religious Liberty Commission</a>.
The commission is tasked with an issue I&#8217;ve thought a lot about in my capacity as a Jewish leader: I believe that all Americans have the freedom to worship as they choose, and think it&#8217;s crucial we protect religious freedom for all — including Muslim Americans who love this country and support its values.
I am proud to call many of them my friends, and I viscerally deplore any bigotry directed against them. But pretending that “Islamophobia” is a widespread national crisis is a dangerous lie that protects the wrong people and only fuels hatred.
“Islamophobia” may sound like a civil rights concern. But in practice, that term is wielded as a dangerous and repressive weapon. While peaceful Muslim citizens deserve protection from discrimination, Islamist pressure groups and progressive elites cry “Islamophobia” to blur moral lines, suppress condemnation of terrorism, and discount the reality of antisemitism in America and the West.
There is simply no parallel to the plague of antisemitism in human history. But while Jews are <a href="https://www.justice.gov/hatecrimes/hate-crime-statistics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">orders of magnitude</a> more likely to find themselves targeted than members of any other minority group in America, the same advocates for “tolerance” who demeaned “all lives matter” as a racist slogan typically feel compelled, after every performative condemnation of antisemitic harassment and violence, to append “Islamophobia, and all forms of hate.”
In reality, bias against Muslims as Muslims is no more common than bias against other minority faiths. There is no major effort or large-scale advertising campaign to combat discrimination against Hindus, Sikhs, or Buddhists — even though each of those communities faces prejudice. It is not widespread or socially acceptable to display animus against people of a particular faith or ethnicity — except Jews.
What, then, is “Islamophobia?” It is most frequently not an aversion to Islam or peaceful Muslims, but a perfectly rational fear of radical Islamism, its desire for dominance, and its support for terrorism. To call that fear a “phobia” inverts the hater and the victim.
Consider Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrql_Sb30B8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claim</a> that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was started to combat anti-Muslim bias after September 11.
The facts are starkly different. Not only was CAIR founded seven years prior, but a French think tank <a href="https://www.fondapol.org/en/study/islamist-terrorist-attacks-in-the-world-1979-2021/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">identified</a> over 48,000 Islamist terror attacks in less than half a century, causing over 210,000 deaths.
That’s not a minor footnote in history: it is the defining threat of the modern age. And while most Muslims are not extremists, a troubling percentage of them support radical ideas and justify attacks upon American and Western civilians. Studies consistently show that Muslims in the West are several times more likely than the general public to hold <a href="https://www.jns.org/the-adl-and-whitewashing-muslim-antisemitism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">antisemitic views</a>.

Furthermore, the most prominent Muslim advocacy organizations in America, including CAIR, the Islamic Society of North America, and American Muslims for Palestine, are not merely apologists for terror. CAIR and the Islamic Society of North America owe their existence to <a href="https://www.hudson.org/national-security-defense/the-muslim-brotherhood-s-u-s-network" target="_blank" rel="noopener">members</a> of the Muslim Brotherhood; both organizations were unindicted <a href="https://www.investigativeproject.org/documents/case_docs/423.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">co-conspirators</a> who aided the Holy Land Foundation in providing funding for Hamas terrorism.
CAIR’s Executive Director declared that he was “<a href="https://jewishchronicle.timesofisrael.com/cair-executive-director-happy-to-see-oct-7-hamas-terror-attack/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">happy</a>” to see the massacre of Jews in Israel on October 7, 2023, which he <a href="https://jewishchronicle.timesofisrael.com/cair-executive-director-happy-to-see-oct-7-hamas-terror-attack/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> “self-defense.” And American Muslims for Palestine, a group <a href="https://ngo-monitor.org/reports/funding-for-students-for-justice-in-palestine-sjp/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">closely tied</a> to the antisemitic Students for Justice in Palestine and its discriminatory and often-violent activities on college campuses, is currently under investigation by a <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/03/27/us-news/senate-gop-chair-launches-probe-into-american-muslims-for-palestine-for-alleged-ties-to-hamas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate committee</a> for its own ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.
Despite this, we are told that criticizing radical Islamic terrorism or calling out antisemitism within the Muslim community is itself a form of “Islamophobia.” This is exemplified by CAIR itself, which in 2024 <a href="https://www.cair.com/press_releases/new-cair-data-shows-anti-muslim-anti-palestinian-hate-remain-elevated-in-first-half-of-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">depicted</a> antisemitic violence against Jews on campus as a &#8220;movement opposing the Gaza genocide,&#8221; and claimed that university administrators who halted the harassment and vandalism were &#8220;a primary perpetrator of anti-Muslim racism.&#8221;
The Southern Poverty Law Center <a href="https://www.splcenter.org/resources/extremist-files/anti-muslim/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">labels</a> as “Islamophobic” such organizations as Brigitte Gabriel’s ACT for America, the David Horowitz Freedom Center, and Jihad Watch. It once also included Proclaiming Justice to the Nations, an Evangelical Christian Zionist cause, among those groups.
None of these organizations opposes Islam; only the radical Islamic theology, which is one of the leading drivers of hateful violence today. Condemning them is not tolerance, but gaslighting.
After a wave of antisemitic protests, harassment, and vandalism on its campus, Harvard <a href="https://amgreatness.com/2025/05/20/the-shield-of-veritas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">formed</a> a Presidential Task Force on Combating Anti-Muslim, Anti-Arab, and Anti-Palestinian Bias. The university started from the premise that these students and faculty were victims, not perpetrators, although it couldn’t identify a unifying explanation for why they were targeted.
In actuality, the one characteristic that all of the purported victims shared in common was quite obvious: antisemitism.
This is why the term “Islamophobia” is so dangerous. It isn’t employed to protect innocent Muslims, but guilty ideologies. It shifts the blame, silences critics, and gives cover to those who cheer as Jews and other “infidels” are slaughtered.
Radical Islamists and their allies cannot be granted leave to rewrite reality. There is no moral equivalence between a Jewish student targeted for wearing a yarmulke and a keffiyeh-clad Muslim activist condemned for cheering Hamas. Stereotyping is always wrong, but there is no epidemic of Americans attacking Muslims as Muslims. There is, instead, a well-funded, well-organized campaign to shield Jew-hatred by claiming that those combating radical Islamic antisemitism are motivated by “Islamophobia.”
This moment demands moral clarity. Not all hate is the same, and not all ideas deserve protection. It’s time to stop pretending that bigotry against Muslims is the crisis, when that false charge is being used to defend and enable radical Islamism, antisemitism, and those who endanger Western civilization.

The state of Washington, which does not officially recognize Easter or Yom Kippur as state holidays, became the first state in the nation to recognize the two Islamic holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as unpaid state-recognized holidays when Democrat Governor Bob Ferguson <a href="https://tvw.org/video/governor-bob-ferguson-bill-signing-2025041217/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed the legislation into law</a> this month.
“<a href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5106&amp;Year=2025&amp;Initiative=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate Bill 5106</a>, sponsored by Sen. Yasmin Trudeau (D-Tacoma), adds both Eid holidays to a list of 20 other state holidays. Rep. Osman Salahuddin (D-Redmond) sponsored the companion bill,” Ferguson’s <a href="https://governor.wa.gov/news/2025/governor-bob-ferguson-signs-historic-bill-officially-recognizing-eid-holidays" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a> stated. “The new law does not establish Eid holidays as paid holidays, but rather adds them to the state’s list of recognized observances, similar to Lunar New Year or Billy Frank Jr. Day.”
“This bill is historic. Washington is now the first state to recognize Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as state holidays,” Ferguson boasted on <a href="https://www.facebook.com/WaStateGov/posts/this-bill-is-historic-washington-is-now-the-first-state-to-recognize-eid-al-fitr/1249708376510712/?locale=en_GB">Facebook</a>.
According to the Washington state legislature’s <a href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=1.16.050" target="_blank" rel="noopener">website</a>, other unpaid holidays officially recognized by the state include:
The thirteenth day of January, recognized as Korean-American Day;
The twelfth day of October, recognized as Columbus Day;
The ninth day of April, recognized as Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day;
The twenty-sixth day of January, recognized as Washington Army and Air National Guard Day;

A Muslim man who hated America and Christianity was convicted of targeting multiple churches with fake bomb threats while collecting bomb-making materials, the Justice Department announced.
The DOJ <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/arizona-man-convicted-crimes-arising-out-plot-targeting-christian-churches" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Friday that 45-year-old Zimnako Salah was convicted of targeting four churches across Arizona, California, and Colorado with fake bomb threats. At the same time, the FBI said it found evidence that Salah was constructing an actual bomb in a storage crate he was renting, according to a criminal complaint.
Salah was convicted last week of making a bomb threat hoax, obstructing the free exercise of religion, threatening the use of a dangerous weapon or explosive, and targeting Christians because of their religion.
“This Department of Justice has no tolerance for anyone who targets religious Americans for their faith,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said. “The perpetrator of this abhorrent hate crime against Christians will face severe punishment.”
At one church in Roseville, California, in November 2023, Salah tied a backpack to a toilet in the men’s restroom before leaving with the intent to scare congregants into thinking they may be the victims of a bombing, the DOJ said. One woman who handled the backpack believed that she &#8220;might meet Jesus today&#8221; because of the package.
“Planting a hoax bomb at the Roseville church was not an isolated incident or a prank for this defendant,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith for the Eastern District of California. “His actions were designed to threaten and intimidate the congregation because he disagreed with their religious beliefs.”
In another incident, Salah left a backpack in the sanctuary of a Christian church in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Salah attempted to conduct a similar hoax at two other churches — one in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and the other in La Mesa, California — but was questioned by church security.
According to the criminal complaint filed against him, Salah is a Northern Iraqi who has lived in Arizona for about 20 years. 
In his interactions with others, the FBI found that he expressed his hate for America, telling people, “F*** this country. I hate America. This country went to Iraq and killed a lot of people.&#8221;
And at the same time he was carrying out the bombing hoaxes, the FBI discovered that Salah was renting a storage unit near Greenwood Village where he had materials like duct tape with nails, red and white wires attached to a battery, nails and bolts, a box of ignition coils, and multiple propane tanks.

At the time, the FBI said in its criminal complaint that the evidence indicated that the materials were “possibly being used to attempt to make a viable explosive device.” The DOJ later determined that Salah had “been building a bomb capable of fitting in a backpack.”
On the wall of the storage unit were spray-painted words in Arabic derogatory toward Jewish people and about Muhammed. Video records showed that Salah had searched for videos of “Infidels dying” and watched videos of ISIS murdering Christians, according to the DOJ.

Salah could face up to six years in prison and a $250,000 fine if sentenced to the maximum penalty.
President Donald Trump has made targeting anti-Christian bias a major priority for his administration. He signed an executive order in February to create a task force aimed at protecting Christians and religious liberty.
