Gen Z is particularly attuned to the threat of radical Islam, as a number of college students told The Daily Wire&#8217;s Isabel Brown at Turning Point USA&#8217;s AmFest.
Brown, the host of The Isabel Brown Show, moderated a panel discussion with three students, all active within TPUSA. One student said that the issue of Islam came entirely down to freedom of speech — and, in particular, freedom to dissent.
&#8220;Theoretically, if you disagree with the teachings of Christ, you can live in the United States and still abide by our laws and respect each other, but in a theocracy like what is under — the Middle East and Islam — you can&#8217;t,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;If you criticize Mohammed, you could genuinely put your life at risk. And we don&#8217;t have that in the United States, and I don&#8217;t think that we should.&#8221;
&#8220;When it comes to looking at different religions, the beautiful thing about America is that you can practice every kind of religion that you need. We have this freedom of religion,&#8221; the third panelist added. &#8220;So let me be clear — I don&#8217;t think we should just kick out all Muslims, I don&#8217;t think we should kick out people who practice the Islamic faith — but the idea that the Islamic faith is at all compatible with the Western world is a fallacy in and of itself.&#8221;
&#8220;When you look at the Koran versus the Bible, which is what America is based on, they don&#8217;t connect,&#8221; she added. &#8220;They don&#8217;t work together at all.&#8221;
&#8220;And that&#8217;s controversial to say because we have Muslims living in America. I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s bad to be a Muslim living in America, I think it&#8217;s bad to want Islamic ideals to be put into America because they just don&#8217;t fit with the western world. You&#8217;ll see that happening in Europe — I believe that Europe has completely fallen now. You see this separation between cultures like we haven&#8217;t seen before and this dying of an entire race, an entire culture. What Europe was is dead now. And it will break my heart to see that happen in America.&#8221;
Brown pressed the students on whether they&#8217;d discussed the issue before — and whether their professors had said anything on the topic.
One said that the typical response was to simply slap &#8220;phobia&#8221; on the end of the word, saying &#8220;it&#8217;s Islamophobia if you even dare to question it. And the thing is, I think that means we need to question it. We need to question whether it&#8217;s actually compatible.&#8221;
The overwhelming assessment, from all three panelists, was that Islam was not compatible with Western values. Brown said that Charlie Kirk — the late TPUSA founder and her friend — agreed with this assessment.
&#8220;Charlie, more than anyone in the conservative movement, spoke often in the last few years about the dangers influence on Islam and Eastern philosophy on Western civilization, not just in the United States, but around Europe as well — where we&#8217;re seeing really crazy headlines over the past several months more than any time in our lifetime, right?&#8221; Brown began.
She went on to give examples, noting that Christmas markets and New Year&#8217;s Eve events were being canceled due to the threat posed by pro-Palestinian protesters and Islamic extremists, and that terrorist attacks around the world had increased dramatically — &#8220;and now that&#8217;s starting to seep into American culture here as well.&#8221;
After conceding that she herself had been &#8220;a little bit spicy&#8221; in recent weeks in her declarations that Islam — as an institution — was &#8220;incompatible&#8221; with Western ideals and, in particular, the United States, Brown explained that Islam did not place value on free speech or equality between the sexes, among other things.
One of the students noted that Charlie had always stressed the importance in differentiating between individual Muslims and Islam as a religious or political structure.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a completely incompatible concept that we could even allow these collective societies, like in the United States where now different tribes are fighting over who&#8217;s going to get elected in Minnesota, like that&#8217;s not really what America is supposed to be.&#8221;

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard declared on Saturday that Islamist Ideology was the greatest single threat to freedom and liberty — and warned that it was already beginning to take hold around the world and even in the United States.
Gabbard spoke on Saturday at Turning Point USA&#8217;s AmericaFest, and she noted that where Islamist ideology was implemented, freedom and liberty quickly ceased to exist.

&#8220;There is a threat to our freedom that hasn&#8217;t been talked about enough,&#8221; she began. &#8220;And it is the greatest near and long term threat to both our freedom and our security, and that is the threat of islamist ideology. It is propagated by people who not only do not believe in freedom, their fundamental ideology is antithetical to the foundation that we find in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, which is that our Creator endowed upon is inalienable rights — the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.&#8221;
Gabbard noted that Charlie Kirk, prior to his death, had mentioned that threat often because he understood the gravity of the situation. Referencing the 9/11 terror attacks, Gabbard said they had proved just how far Islamists were willing to go.
&#8220;It is a political ideology that seeks to create a global caliphate that governs us here in America,&#8221; she continued, adding, &#8220;And if you fail to comply, if you fail to adhere to this ideology, if you dare to exercise your God-given right to free speech, censorship is not what we face. They will use violence or any means that they deem as necessary to silence us.&#8221;
Gabbard went on to describe how quickly the ideology had seeped into the culture in European nations: &#8220;As we approach Christmas, right now in Germany they are canceling Christmas markets because of this threat.&#8221;
She then explained that understanding that rights came from God was what should make it clear just how grave a threat Islamist ideology is to freedom and liberty. A truly free society, she concluded, could not survive unless the people were willing to defend it against such threats.

The 24-year-old man suspected of carrying out an ISIS-inspired terror attack in Australia targeting a Jewish celebration on Sunday will face terrorism and murder charges, authorities announced Wednesday. 
Naveed Akram was charged by the New South Wales Joint Counter Terrorism Team with terrorism and 15 counts of murder. Akram is accused of opening fire on a Hanukkah celebration taking place at the popular Bondi Beach, killing 15 people and injuring dozens more. 
The attack was also carried out by 50-year-old Sajid Akram, who was killed by law enforcement. Naveed Akram was hospitalized after suffering critical injuries during the attack.
He was also charged with 40 counts of wounding/grievous bodily harm to a person with intent to murder, discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, public display of a prohibited terrorist organization symbol, and placing explosives in/near buildings with intent to cause harm.

Two ISIS flags reportedly discovered in a vehicle belong to Naveed and Sajid. Investigators also say that the pair traveled to the Philippines between November 1 and November 28, where there is a strong Islamist presence. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation <a href="https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-12-16/bondi-gunmen-went-to-philippines-for-military-style-training/106148662">reported</a> that sources said the two received &#8220;military-style training&#8221; while in the Philippines.  
Naveed Akram was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-beach-terrorist-was-previously-investigated-for-ties-to-isis">previously investigated</a> by authorities over ties to an Islamic State terror cell six years ago. He was wrapped up in an investigation into a foiled ISIS attack that was planned by a man who declared himself the Australian commander of an ISIS cell in Australia. He was under investigation for six months before being deemed to pose no ongoing threat.
Those killed during the attack range between the ages of 10 and 87, though some are still being identified. Forty-one people were initially hospitalized after the attack, and 20 are still receiving treatment.

Footage shows Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid, calmly leaving a rented home in Campsie late Sunday afternoon, climbing into a silver hatchback, and driving toward Bondi Beach. Less than 90 minutes later, police say the pair opened fire on a Hanukkah celebration, killing at least 15 people and wounding dozens more in a targeted attack on Jews.
The footage contradicts what Akram had told his family earlier that day. According to his mother, Verena, the men were supposedly enjoying a wholesome fishing trip, complete with swimming, scuba diving, and dinner plans. Instead, investigators allege, the father-son duo were holed up in a short-term rental preparing for mass murder.

Sajid was shot dead by police at the scene. Naveed was also shot and remains in critical condition, though authorities say he is likely to survive. Police later recovered multiple weapons, an Islamic State flag, and improvised explosive devices. Federal authorities are now investigating the men’s recent trip to the Philippines, a known hub for Islamist extremist groups.

Akram’s mother <a href="https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/alleged-bondi-terror-gunman-naveed-akram-told-family-he-was-going-on-fishing-trip-20251214-p5nnls.html">praised him</a>, saying, “He doesn’t have a firearm. He doesn’t even go out. He doesn’t mix around with friends,” claiming her son did not drink, smoke, or “go to bad places.” “Anyone would wish to have a son like my son … he’s a good boy,” she insisted.
That statement came as police cordoned off the family home and confirmed that her “good boy” allegedly helped carry out one of the deadliest attacks in Australian history.
Akram, an unemployed bricklayer laid off two months earlier, reportedly studied Koranic teachings and had traveled overseas shortly before the attack. His father, a fruiterer who migrated to Australia in the late 1990s, had returned from multiple trips abroad in recent years. Sajid “arrived in 1998 on a student visa, transferred in 2001 to a partner visa and after trips overseas has been on resident return visas, which occurred three times,” Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke revealed.
Authorities continue to investigate potential links to terrorism and ideological motivations. Meanwhile, Jewish families are burying their dead while the alleged murderer’s mother refuses to acknowledge her son’s evil.

Asked by a reporter about Catholics in Europe believing that Islam is a threat to Christianity and whether they were right, Pope Leo XIV <a href="https://x.com/SlimWiggy/status/1996425827454763287">responded</a> by saying they were often people who were against immigration and should be less fearful.
“All of the conversations that I had during my time both in Turkey and in Lebanon, including with many Muslims, were precisely concentrated on the topic of peace and respect of people of different religions,” Pope Leo stated, adding the understatement, “I know that as a matter of fact, that has not always been the case.”
“I know that in Europe, there are many times fears that are present, but oftentimes generated by people who are against immigration and trying to keep out people who may be from another country, another religion, another race,” he declared. “And in that sense, I would say that we all need to work together. One of the values of this trip is precisely to raise the world’s attention to the possibility that dialogue and friendship between Muslims and Christians is possible.”
The pope turned to Lebanon, which was a beautiful country in the 1960’s, but started to be torn apart with the entrance of the Palestine Liberation Organization, headed by Yasser Arafat.

Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN) suggested on Wednesday that Trump supporters might use violence against Somali migrants, while she brushed off a massive Somali-connected fraud scandal in Minnesota that cost taxpayers billions of dollars.
Omar <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2025/12/03/us/video/donald-trump-immigration-somali-somalia-ice-deportation-border-illegal-jake-tapper-lead">told</a> CNN host Jake Tapper that Trump&#8217;s comments about the fraud scandal, and, in particular, Somali immigrants, &#8220;creates fear.&#8221;
&#8220;And there is a possible danger that a lot of the people who follow the president have exhibited violence in many cases, especially in my case, whenever he has said something about me that is derogatory or says I&#8217;m a threat to the country, I have gotten death threats,&#8221; the Democrat said.
&#8220;There are so many people that have been incarcerated over the years that have been encouraged by the president&#8217;s words,&#8221; Omar claimed. &#8220;And so there is fear for Somalis, not just in Minnesota, but across the country, that some of these people might attack and harm them.&#8221;
&#8220;And so, to me, it is important for us, one, to remind folks that we are Americans,&#8221; she added. &#8220;We’re not going anywhere, and we will continue to be in this country. And two, that Minnesotans are resilient, and we will continue to thrive.&#8221;
Further, Omar brushed off the fraud scandal when she was pressed about its concentration in Minnesota by Tapper. The rep merely blamed a lack of &#8220;guardrails&#8221; because the schemes started during COVID, though Omar notably did not condemn the fraud during the segment.
The fraud scheme in Minnesota deals with billions of stolen taxpayer dollars during the tenure of Democrat Gov. Tim Walz. Notably, it&#8217;s been largely tied to the Somali community, and some stolen money was allegedly funneled to Al-Shabaab terrorists, according to <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/minnesota-welfare-fraud-somalia-al-shabaab">City Journal</a>.

A packed and emotionally charged zoning board meeting this week in Hoover, Alabama, ended with <a href="https://www.al.com/news/birmingham/2025/12/heated-alabama-zoning-meeting-ends-with-rejection-of-islamic-school-plan.html?outputType=amp">unanimous rejection</a> of a proposal to relocate a Muslim K-12 school.
The Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission <a href="https://hooversun.com/news/hoover-zoning-board-votes-against-islamic-academy-in-meadow-/">voted</a> 7-0 to deny rezoning the property on Corporate Drive from office use to accommodate the Islamic Academy of Alabama, citing concerns about traffic congestion, adherence to long-term city development plans, and the precedent such a zoning change might set. The meeting drew nearly 200 residents, filling the city council chamber and spilling into hallways as opponents voiced their objections — some focused on practical issues, others on cultural unease.
The potential move has sparked both practical and cultural debate in the community.
Several residents insisted their opposition stemmed from concern over already clogged roads. Meadowbrook resident Nancy Cooper pointed out that six schools serving more than 5,600 students already feed traffic into Highway 119, often turning it into what she called “a parking lot.” A petition opposing the plan gathered over 1,700 signatures. “It’s not about religion,” said resident Jeff Wilson, who started the petition. “It’s about traffic.”
Some attendees held signs warning of an Islamic “100-year plan” and comparing Hoover’s future to the Muslim-majority city of Dearborn, Michigan. Others openly suggested the school’s presence would drive away business or hurt property values.
The last speaker read a prepared statement in which she said Muslims had implemented a “long-term cultural takeover” in Britain, drawing applause. Commission Chairman Mike Wood interrupted to say that what she was saying was not germane to the discussion, saying, “We are here to look at whether this school was appropriately placed. We’re not here for that. I’m sorry. We’re not going to listen to that.” Some members of the crowd yelled in response, coming to the woman’s defense.
Though Monday’s vote is only advisory, it sends the proposal to the Hoover City Council, where a final decision will be made.

Earlier this month, I arrived in Saudi Arabia for my second visit to a country which has always seemed like a forbidden land to the West. I’d been invited again as a guest star to play accordion in the “Riyadh Season” concert series — this time with Egypt’s biggest singing sensation, Angham.
What struck me, on both trips, was how aggressively the Saudis are betting on capitalism.
Everywhere you go, the top Western brands are visible: Dunkin’ Donuts, Texas Roadhouse, Bath &amp; Body Works, Chuck E. Cheese, and yes, Randy’s Donuts, with the giant donut on the roof are there for you in Riyadh. There is even a Disney castle and theme park.

On every corner there seem to be concerts, tourist attractions, and massive development projects. The music you hear playing through the speakers of high-end locations? Jazz, Lady Gaga, or Burt Bacharach. The style of filming for major concerts?  Straight out of CBS’s Grammys playbook.
Could a country truly hate America if this is what I was seeing?
When I first traveled to Saudi Arabia two years ago, I didn’t even tell my father. You can’t lie to an Italian mother, of course, but my father? If he had known I was flying to a country he associated with the worst terror attack in American history, he would have tied me to my bed. Many of my friends felt the same, judging by their reactions when I returned: “Saudi Arabia? Are you insane? Are you trying to get arrested or killed?”
But over the past decade, the Kingdom, under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has charted a different course. One built on peace, prosperity, and a surprisingly familiar engine: Western-style capitalism.
It is true that in Saudi Arabia, you have no real rights against the state — no First Amendment protections, no guarantee of a fair trial, a mandatory dress code, and laws that make smoking pot or ordering a margarita about as plausible as Cardi B performing Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto on the accordion — a stunt I once pulled to win a national title.
Yet, regardless of this different universe of ideas from the United States, I wasn’t afraid.
The free market being unleashed in Saudi Arabia, even if still in a more state-run manner, is the greatest modern example of how a country thought to be an untrustworthy foe can turn into an important ally.
What struck me most, though, was that while I was in Saudi Arabia, a Muslim socialist won the mayor’s seat in the financial capital of the world, New York City. Three different Saudis during the trip (including a Syrian security worker at the venue who had fled Bashar al-Assad&#8217;s regime) asked me some version of the same question: “What on earth are you Americans doing electing Mamdani? He’s crazy.” This, again, from inside the very center of Islam. And even they aren’t at all sold on the politics that Zohran Mamdani represents.
My insight is anecdotal, but the friendships I’ve formed in Saudi Arabia reveal a people not so different from my own friends back home. They want peace. They want prosperity. They want their families to be happy. They want to travel. They want to have fun.
I asked them everything — about Israel, Islamic extremism, terrorism, drinking, drugs, dating, hating their boss, weekend plans, and which video games keep them up until 4:00 a.m.
Watching a group of young men in Riyadh blast pop music at 1:30 a.m. as they inched through a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-through, talking about girls and killing time, looked the same as you’d see in America. Different faiths, different cultures, same very human scene.
A handful of companies profit from global conflict. But 99.9% of businesses in a free-market economy — from Nike and Coca-Cola to Apple and Tesla — depend on global stability and rising disposable income. Peace is profitable.
In just a decade, Saudi Arabia has gone from a place many Americans fear to visit to a place I can’t recommend enough to go see. If that’s the result of “greedy capitalism,” then count me in.

In a scene that laid bare the extraordinary double standards governing Australia’s political class, Senator Pauline Hanson of the One Nation Party walked into the chamber wearing a burqa after Parliament refused even to allow her bill banning full-face coverings to be introduced.
Within seconds, the Left erupted. Senators shouted for her removal, called her “racist,” and shut the Senate down. Senate leader Penny Wong called for a vote on removing Hanson from the chamber as senators continued to shout, “Get her out.”
“I rise to ask that you reflect the ruling of Senator Parry, when in the President’s chair, in relation to a similar stunt by this senator in this place, and I will remind those who may not have been here of what the then leader of the government, Senator Brandis, said at the time,’’ Wong said. “He says to Senator Hanson, ‘Senator I’m not going to pretend to ignore the stunt you have tried to pull today by arriving in the chamber dressed in a burqa, when we all know you are not an adherent of the Islamic faith.&#8217;”
“As soon as I started to introduce the bill, I was shut down,” Hanson responded. “And for Penny Wong to get up and say this is a place where we may have differences in policies and that type of thing. Well, that’s an absolute joke, because they won’t accept my policies.”
“I respect people’s religions, okay, and I adhere to Section 116 of the Australian Constitution about religious observance,” she continued. “I’ve had no problem with that, but the burqa is not a religious requirement, and that’s been called out by Islamic clerics. These people don’t assimilate, and it’s controlling women. Here they constantly talk about, in the Greens and everyone else, women’s rights. We’re fighting for women’s rights, equal pay, equal you know, domestic violence, we’re clearly calling that women’s rights. If you ban the burqa, some of these men cannot force their women to wear the burqa.”
Hanson wrote on X after the incident in the Senate: “Today I wore a burqa into the Senate after One Nation&#8217;s bill to ban the burqa and face coverings in public was blocked from even being introduced. The usual hypocrites had an absolute freak out. The fact is more than 20 countries around the world have banned the Burqa because they recognise it as a tool that oppresses women, poses a national security risk, encourages radical islam and threatens social cohesion. If these hypocrites don&#8217;t want me to wear a burqa, they can always support my ban. Listen to my right of reply to what happened today, because I was blocked from saying anything in Parliament.”

There would be zero objections right now to a Muslim politician wearing a burqa in Parliament House. All sorts of props have been used in Parliament, including, most recently, the keffiyeh worn by people who are clearly not of that culture or background. We are constantly told that wearing a burqa is a freely made choice and that it is just a garment, so what exactly is the problem with Pauline Hanson wearing one? How can one group of people have exclusive rights over a style of garment in Australia? Hanson’s stance is part of her party’s broader, unapologetic defense of Western values. One Nation has been one of the strongest voices in Australia firmly supporting Israel after the October 7 Hamas atrocities, calling out the Albanese government for backing a United Nations push they say effectively legitimizes a terrorist-controlled Palestinian authority. One Nation argues that Labor and the Greens speak out of both sides of their mouths—condemning Hamas when convenient while advancing policies that embolden anti-Israel sentiment at home.
Against that backdrop, Hanson’s protest was no “stunt.” It was a demonstration meant to force a conversation Australia’s elites would rather avoid.
In that sense, it succeeded.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations as foreign terrorist organizations on Tuesday, citing each group&#8217;s ties to Islamic extremism and accusing them of seeking to &#8220;forcibly impose Sharia law.&#8221;
Abbott&#8217;s <a href="https://gov.texas.gov/uploads/files/press/PROC_declaring_Muslim_Brotherhood_and_CAIR_Transnational_Criminal_Organizations_IMAGE_11-18-2025.pdf">action</a> bans the Muslim groups from purchasing or acquiring land in Texas and subjects anyone affiliated with them to heightened state penalties.
“The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world,’&#8221; Abbott <a href="https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-designates-muslim-brotherhood-cair-as-foreign-terrorist-organizations">said</a>. &#8220;The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable. Today, I designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas.”
For years, the Muslim Brotherhood has advocated for extremism and been connected to Islamic terrorists. The Muslim Brotherhood, which started as a militant group in Egypt in 1928, has spread throughout the world and is tied to numerous jihadist groups, according to a 2018 Congressional <a href="https://www.congress.gov/event/115th-congress/house-event/108532/text">report</a>. The Muslim Brotherhood&#8217;s founder, Hassan al-Banna, was outspoken about fighting non-Muslims through jihad and wrote that &#8220;Jihad is an obligation from Allah and every Muslim and cannot be ignored nor evaded.&#8221; In recent years, the Brotherhood condemned the United States for killing terrorism mastermind Osama bin Laden, and one of its most influential leaders, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20070612234906/http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=subjects&amp;Area=jihad&amp;ID=SP79404#_edn1">called</a> for terrorist attacks against U.S. troops in Iraq.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a self-described civil rights organization, has been criticized over its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. U.S. authorities have also posited that CAIR was established as a front for Hamas. In a 2008 case, which was the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history, the council and its co-founders were named as unindicted co-conspirators in a plot to funnel millions of dollars to Hamas. Multiple people who have worked for CAIR have also been sentenced for planning to aid terrorist groups, such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
The council has denied the allegations tying it to Hamas and responded to Abbott&#8217;s move to designate it as a foreign terrorist organization.
&#8220;We have consistently condemned all forms of unjust violence, including hate crimes, ethnic cleansing, genocide and terrorism. In fact, we condemn terrorism so often that ISIS once put a target on our national executive director,&#8221; the council said. &#8220;Although we are flattered by Greg Abbott&#8217;s obsession with our civil rights organization, his publicity stunt masquerading as a proclamation has no basis in fact or law. By defaming a prominent American Muslim institution with debunked conspiracy theories and made-up quotes, Mr. Abbott has once again shown that his top priority is advancing anti-Muslim bigotry, not serving the people of Texas.&#8221;
Abbott&#8217;s move comes as Muslims plan to develop a massive compound in North Texas, which is being <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/epic-city-muslim-community-doj-investigation-ends/">investigated</a> by state and federal authorities. The compound aims to create a Muslim-centered community on 400 acres of land and is spearheaded by the East Plano Islamic Center, the largest mosque in Texas.
The Muslim development plans are not connected to the Muslim Brotherhood or the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The Justice Department launched an investigation into the plans after Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn raised concerns about religious discrimination surrounding the housing development.
&#8220;Religious discrimination and Sharia Law have no place in the Lone Star State,&#8221; Cornyn <a href="https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/news/cornyn-announces-doj-investigation-into-epic-city/">said</a> in May. &#8220;Any violations of federal law must be swiftly prosecuted, and I know under the Trump administration, they will be.&#8221;

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump announced Friday that he is designating Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) due to the relentless persecution of Christians conducted by &#8220;radical Islamist&#8221; terrorists.
The designation, which the president announced as he arrived at Mar-a-Lago in West Palm Beach, means that Nigeria has engaged in &#8220;severe violations of religious freedom&#8221; under the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) of 1998.
&#8220;Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria,&#8221; the president said in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115470116607441456">post</a> on Truth Social. &#8220;Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.&#8221;
&#8220;I am hereby making Nigeria a &#8216;COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN&#8217; — But that is the least of it,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done! I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me.&#8221;

Congressman Riley Moore of West Virginia and Tom Cole of Oklahoma did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire, but in a <a href="https://x.com/RepRileyMoore/status/1984331412573438044">post on X</a>, Moore thanked the president for the designation.
&#8220;You have always been a champion for Christians around the world, and I&#8217;m grateful for the opportunity to work with you and Chairman Cole @houseappropsgop to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being slaughtered by radical Islamists in Nigeria,&#8221; the West Virginia congressman said.

Nigeria was formerly designated a CPC under the first Trump administration. Under President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration, Secretary of State Antony Blinken <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2024/01/26/state-department-still-wont-say-why-it-doesnt-classify-nigeria-india-as-countries-violating-religious-freedom/">had determined</a> that Nigeria was not a CPC, despite pleas from religious freedom advocates to recognize severe violations of religious freedom.

There is some good news out of New York. It&#8217;s not a lot of good news out of New York, but it&#8217;s some good news.
There&#8217;s a brand new poll from Suffolk University showing that in New York, Andrew Cuomo — who is really the only hope of stopping Zohran Mamdani in the New York mayoral race — is catching up to Zohran Mamdani. The poll found that Mamdani no longer leads Cuomo by 20 points or 15 points, but the lead is down to ten, and Mamdani is stuck at 44%.
Typically, when somebody wins the New York mayoral race, they win well over a majority. Here you have Mamdani at 44%. You have Cuomo at 34%, and you have Curtis Sliwa at 11%. There will be a lot of talk if Mamdani ends up mayor about why Curtis Sliwa stayed in the race.
The reality is that Curtis Sliwa is not going to be the next mayor of New York. And if his vote share is larger than the margin of victory for Mamdani, that will leave some questions to be asked.

As David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, says, Sliwa “is one person in New York City whose voters could have an outsized impact on the outcome.”
This is the first poll since Mayor Eric Adams dropped out of the race.
Most of his support has bled to Cuomo.

Mamdani is running a terrible final week of this campaign. He has decided that his closing message is going to be that New York City is famous for Islamophobia and if you don&#8217;t elect him, it&#8217;s because you don&#8217;t like Muslims, which is a wild statement in a city that suffered 9/11 (where apparently the only victim of 9/11, according to Zohran Mamdani, was his own female relative, who was wearing some sort of hijab on the subway and somebody gave her a mean look).
So now his final closing pitch is, “Why won&#8217;t you give me the mayoralty? If you don&#8217;t, it&#8217;s because you&#8217;re mean to Muslims.”
That is the mark of a person who truly feels entitled to everything. If you won&#8217;t give him the mayoralty of the financial center of planet Earth, it must not be because he&#8217;s a bad candidate, an out-and-out communist, a sympathizer with jihadists, but because you are mean to Muslims.

You want to know where his ideology comes from? His ideology is deeply, deeply ensconced in the Red-Green alliance between communists and radical jihadists that is characteristic of so much of the Left these days.

That quote from him in September 2023 shows him explaining that basically, his hatred for capitalism springs from his dislike of the “Zionists.” 
Mamdani stated:
<blockquote>The importance for me of international solidarity is that it takes me out of the American political landscape and reminds me just how tame some of the things that I’m actually calling for in the next board. And it reminds me of the necessity of grounding ourselves in the struggles as opposed to the fights around the struggles. For anyone to care about these issues … We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF. We’re in a country where those connections abound. Especially in New York City, you have so many opportunities to make clear the ways in which that struggle over there is tied to capitalist interests over here.</blockquote>
So you see, it&#8217;s really the Jews in Israel who are tied to the capitalist interests in New York City. And capitalism, of course, is bad. If you missed it, he said, “When the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF.”
This was not 15 years ago. This was two years ago. He was a full grown-ass man when he said this sort of garbage.
But if you point this out, you’re “Islamophobic.”
He only cares about “affordability.” How is he going to deliver affordability? No one knows. But if he just says “affordability” over and over and over, then affordability will magically appear in New York City. It&#8217;s like Beetlejuice. If you say affordability three times, then magically all of the rents go down.
He has no idea how he&#8217;s going to do anything. But that doesn&#8217;t matter. The reason people support Mamdani is because he&#8217;s “fetch” and he&#8217;s “brat.”
There are a lot of idiots in New York, and those idiots in New York are fully on board with the idea that if you don&#8217;t vote for Zohran Mamdani, it must be because you are some sort of racist, or because you hate gay people, or because you are one of those “capitalist tools.”
One can only hope that the non-idiots in New York will show up to vote.
