The House Judiciary Committee has launched an investigation into a far-left organization to see if it used federal funds to organize anti-ICE unrest in Los Angeles.
The committee announced its investigation into the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA), a far-left organization. A Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kamala-says-shell-enforce-border-laws-her-admin-gave-1-2-million-to-group-that-wants-to-end-them">investigation</a> last year revealed that CHIRLA had received federal funding under the Biden-Harris administration as it worked to “dismantle the U.S. immigration enforcement system” and pushed for mass illegal alien amnesty.
The House Judiciary Committee <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/24/us-news/house-judiciary-committee-opens-probe-into-chirlas-possible-role-in-la-riots/">explained</a> that it is concerned “that CHIRLA may be using federal funds to support violent criminal activity that impedes the enforcement of federal immigration law.”
The federal funds awarded to the far-left organization under the Biden-Harris administration were earmarked for “citizenship instruction and naturalization services” and “innovations in citizenship education.”
The letter requests that CHIRLA produce “all documents and communications” pertaining to the federal funds it received and specific information detailing how those funds were spent.
The organization is also being asked to turn over communications and documents “referring or relating to protests against ICE, DHS, Customs and Border Protection, enforcement of immigration laws, or the Trump Administration’s immigration policies.” The House Judiciary Committee gave CHIRLA a deadline of July 8th to comply with its requests.
A spokesman for CHIRLA said that the organization has not been involved in coordinating protests in Los Angeles, instead stating that the group “organized a press event” to speak out against the ICE raids and had “been sending legal observers to immigration courts and detention centers.”
“We have not participated, coordinated, or been part of the protests being registered in Los Angeles other than the press conference and rally,” the CHIRLA representative said.
While the House Judiciary Committee works to ascertain the extent of the organization’s involvement in the protests and unrest in Los Angeles, other leftwing groups have directly fueled the protest efforts, The Daily Wire previously revealed.

Newsom said on Sunday that California would file a lawsuit against the Trump administration over the deployment of National Guard troops. The governor argued that Trump&#8217;s move was &#8220;unconstitutional&#8221; and that the administration did not coordinate with his office before deploying the National Guard, a power typically exercised by governors. The Insurrection Act of 1807, however, allows the president to federalize the National Guard and deploy the U.S. military to quell domestic disorder or violence.

Trump has not yet officially invoked the Insurrection Act, and has ordered Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi &#8220;to take all such action necessary&#8221; to address the riots.
Mayor Bass also condemned Trump&#8217;s move, arguing that it was &#8220;about another agenda&#8221; and &#8220;not about public safety.&#8221;

Newark’s Democratic mayor, Ras Baraka, filed a lawsuit Tuesday against interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba after she charged him with trespassing at a federal immigration facility last month.
Baraka claims that Habba and Homeland Security Investigations supervising agent Ricky Patel, who was the lead officer in charge of arresting the mayor last month, violated his Fourth Amendment rights against “false arrest and malicious prosecution.” Baraka’s suit also accuses Habba of defamation.
Habba charged Baraka with trespassing at a federal immigration facility during an altercation on May 9, but later dropped the charge.
Habba “acted as a political operative, outside of any function intimately related to the judicial process, and in her individual personal capacity,” the <a href="https://mcusercontent.com/4a79b9be775bc92174318c05e/files/25bd88da-35a4-79cb-2804-b61dafa9349a/filedcomplaint.6_3_25.pdf">lawsuit</a> says. Patel “in this matter acted outside the scope of his employment and in his individual capacity.”
Baraka is one of six Democrats running in the primary to be the next governor of New Jersey. Baraka is <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/newark-mayor-ras-barakas-arrest-shake-new-jerseys-democratic-primary-g-rcna206273">campaigning</a> as an action-oriented progressive in the crowded primary. The super PAC supporting his candidacy, One New Jersey United, has already begun funding ads highlighting his May 9 arrest.
The lawsuit’s filing coincides with the first day of early voting ahead of the June 10 primary for the New Jersey governor’s race.

The mayor arrived at Delaney Hall, used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to house illegal immigrants, at the invitation of Democratic congressmen who wanted to inspect the facility as part of their congressional oversight authority. Baraka stood outside the facility while the assembled crowd began to call for him to be let inside, according to the lawsuit.
Baraka was later invited inside the gate of Delaney Hall by a guard who wanted to “calm the crowd,” the suit says. Patel later approached Baraka and directed him to leave. Baraka did not initially follow the order, but stayed to argue with Patel.
After finally leaving the property, Baraka was arrested and handcuffed “in an effort to effect maximum humiliation,” the lawsuit says.
On Monday night, Habba dismissed Baraka’s expected lawsuit in a post on X.

Weeks before an illegal immigrant threw a Molotov cocktail at a group of pro-Israel demonstrators in Colorado, Democrats in the state passed legislation that would make it even harder to identify criminals like the man who told authorities he had been planning the attack for a year while illegally in the country.
Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national and illegal alien, is believed to have entered the United States on a visa before he was granted work authorization by the Biden administration, which he overstayed after it expired in March. Federal court <a href="https://x.com/BillMelugin_/status/1929583795805524440">filings</a> say that Soliman not only admitted to the attack, but said that he wanted to kill all “zionists.”
Just weeks before the attack, Colorado Democrats passed legislation aimed at hindering Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) ability to find and deport illegal aliens. The bill, signed by Governor Jared Polis in late May, <a href="https://coloradoimmigrant.org/governor-signs-sb25-276-into-law-strengthening-constitutional-rights-for-immigrant-families-and-all-coloradans/#:~:text=Denver%2C%20CO%20%E2%80%94%20Today%2C%20Governor,Coloradans%E2%80%94regardless%20of%20immigration%20status.">bars law enforcement</a> in the state from respecting ICE detainer requests, which the federal agency uses to gain custody of illegal aliens who have been placed in local jails after being arrested for crimes.
The legislation was marketed as a way to counter the Trump administration&#8217;s crackdown on illegal immigration by Democrats in the state.
“One of the reasons why I appreciate this bill so much is that it is one of few that is really taking seriously the crisis that the federal administration poses for immigrants in particular and for marginalized people generally,” <a href="https://coloradonewsline.com/2025/05/03/colorado-immigrant-protection-bill-as-justice-department-sues-state/">said</a> Democrat state representative Yara Zokaie.

The law <a href="https://coloradonewsline.com/2025/05/03/colorado-immigrant-protection-bill-as-justice-department-sues-state/#:~:text=The%20bill%20would%20prohibit%20local,warrant%20signed%20by%20a%20judge.">prevents</a> city and county governments from sharing data, like identifying information and immigration status information, with ICE, making it significantly harder for the federal law enforcement agency to track down illegal aliens in Colorado.
It also imposes steep penalties on those working with ICE. State agencies and local governments could be fined up to $50,000 for violating the law, with the money earmarked for a state-run deportation defense fund.
Called the <a href="https://ona.colorado.gov/our-work/immigration-legal-defense-fund">Immigration Legal Defense Fund</a>, the initiative “provides free immigration legal services to help Coloradans and those detained in Colorado with their immigration court proceedings.” Potential beneficiaries of the program only have to demonstrate that they are in Colorado, have been placed in deportation proceedings, and cannot afford legal defense.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller <a href="https://x.com/StephenM/status/1929354625104109637">pointed</a> to “suicidal migration” policies as one of the factors that led to the terror attack in Colorado.
“A terror attack was committed in Boulder, Colorado by an illegal alien. He was granted a tourist visa by the Biden Administration and then he illegally overstayed that visa. In response, the Biden Administration gave him a work permit,” Miller said.  “Suicidal migration must be fully reversed.”

The Department of Homeland Security announced that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will immediately begin screening immigrants’ social media for anti-Semitic content and any history of physically harassing Jews.
The <a href="https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/news-releases/dhs-to-begin-screening-aliens-social-media-activity-for-antisemitism">announcement</a> comes as the Trump administration arrests foreign students who had their visas revoked for involvement in anti-Semitic campus protests that have led to vandalism, harassment, and taking over campus buildings.
Any information found may be grounds for denying immigration benefit requests for immigrants applying for permanent residency, foreign students, and individuals affiliated with educational institutions linked to anti-Semitic activity.
In the screening process, USCIS will consider any social media content that “indicates an alien endorsing, espousing, promoting, or supporting antisemitic terrorism, anti-Semitic terrorist organizations, or other antisemitic activity as a negative factor in any USCIS discretionary analysis when adjudicating immigration benefit requests.”
DHS added that it will enforce all immigration laws and protect the homeland from terrorist aliens who support anti-Semitic terrorism, violent anti-Semitic ideologies, and various terrorist organizations, including Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
According to DHS, the move is consistent with President Donald Trump’s executive orders issued to combat rising anti-Semitism.
“There is no room in the United States for the rest of the world’s terrorist sympathizers, and we are under no obligation to admit them or let them stay here,” said DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin. “Sec. Noem has made it clear that anyone who thinks they can come to America and hide behind the First Amendment to advocate for anti-Semitic violence and terrorism — think again. You are not welcome here.”
Last month, Secretary of State Marco Rubio <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-on-turkish-visa-student-getting-deported-i-encourage-every-country-to-do-that">explained</a> that the students being deported would not have been permitted into the United States if the government knew what they would do once reaching campus.
“If you apply for a visa to enter the United States and be a student and you tell us that the reason why you’re coming to the United States is not just because you want to write op-eds, but because you want to participate in movements that are involved in doing things like vandalizing universities, harassing students, taking over buildings, creating a ruckus, we’re not going to give you a visa,” Rubio said. “If you lie to us and get a visa and then enter the United States and with that visa, participate in that sort of activity, we’re going to take away your visa.”
Rubio added that once a student loses their visa, they are no longer legally in the United States, and can be deported.
“I think it’s crazy to invite students into your country that are coming onto your campus and destabilizing it,” Rubio said. “Every country in the world has a right to decide who comes in as a visitor and who doesn’t.”

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird is suing a county that pledged to “interfere and interrupt” federal immigration enforcement raids carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Bird launched the lawsuit against Winneshiek County Sheriff Dan Marx after he pledged to take “every effort” to “interrupt” and “interfere” with federal immigration enforcement agents.
“Iowa is not a sanctuary for illegal immigration. Anyone who threatens to ‘block, interfere and interrupt’ with immigration enforcement, as this sheriff did, will be held accountable,” Bird <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/red-state-moves-defund-county-after-leader-vows-interfere-interrupt-ice-deportations">asserted</a>.
The attorney general’s statement came after Marx’s office made a post on Facebook saying that he and his staff are “always willing to assist with verifying credentials and the legitimacy of any paperwork federal agents should have to make certain your rights are not being abused.”
&#8220;If their actions or paperwork are not within constitutional parameters,&#8221; the post continued, &#8220;then we will make every effort to block, interfere and interrupt their actions from moving forward.” Marx specifically objected to immigration detainers filed by ICE, an administrative request from the federal agency asking state and local law enforcement agencies to maintain custody of suspected illegal aliens until federal law enforcement could gain custody of the suspects.
Bird argues that Marx’s post violated Iowa law, which states that a county in violation of section 27A.4 of the state’s legal code “shall be ineligible to receive any state funds if the local entity intentionally violates this chapter.&#8221;
Governor Kim Reynolds requested that Marx amend his statements, but the sheriff refused despite the risk that the county could lose state funding.
Bird asserted that Marx’s actions “impeded and discouraged cooperation with federal immigration authorities” in violation of the law. “Sanctuary counties are illegal under Iowa law. Sheriff Marx was given the chance to retract his statement, follow the law, and honor ICE detainers, but he refused — even at a cost to his home county,” Bird <a href="https://www.iowaattorneygeneral.gov/newsroom/attorney-general-bird-sues-winneshiek-county-sheriff-for-violating-sanctuary-county-law">charged</a>. “He left us with no choice but to take the case to court to enforce our laws and ensure cooperation with federal immigration authorities.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt encouraged illegal aliens to leave the United States now or face “much harder consequences” during Tuesday’s press briefing.
Leavitt’s warning came as she showcased the Trump administration’s revised mobile application encouraging illegal aliens to self-deport back to their countries of origin. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-transforms-bidens-cbp-one-app-leave-now-and-self-deport">restructured app</a>, called the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Home app, allows illegal aliens to &#8220;submit intent to depart&#8221; and &#8220;verify departure&#8221; from the United States.
“The CBP Home app strengthens our mission to secure the border and provides illegal aliens with a straightforward way to leave now before facing much harder consequences later,” Leavitt said during the briefing.
“CBP launched an enhanced home mobile app with a new feature: the intent to depart, which offers unlawfully present aliens, or those aliens whose parole has been revoked, an orderly and defined process to notify the U.S. government to depart the country,” Leavitt added while showing a graphic of the new app.

The CBP Home App replaces the Biden administration’s CBP One app, which allowed migrants to remotely schedule parole interviews at ports of entry along the border. The program, Trump officials say, was used to enable more than one million foreign nationals into the interior of the country. The app will update on the phones of migrants who downloaded it and used it to gain access to the country.
“The Biden Administration exploited the CBP One App to allow more than 1 million aliens to illegally enter the United States,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said on Monday after the repurposed app was announced.
That figure is believed to include roughly a quarter million foreign nationals who would have otherwise been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/over-a-quarter-million-inadmissible-aliens-released-into-u-s-after-using-cbp-app-homeland-security-documents-reveal">deemed inadmissible aliens</a>, but were instead allowed to enter the United States.
“The CBP Home App gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream,” the DHS Secretary added. “If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.”
The new application from the Trump administration comes as Trump’s DHS has carried out a series of ongoing deportation raids across the country. One recent week-long operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement resulted in the arrest of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/more-than-500-criminal-illegal-aliens-captured-by-ice-in-week-long-houston-raids">more than 600 illegal aliens</a>, including 543 with criminal records, in the Houston area.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) captured more than 500 criminal illegal aliens in a week-long series of raids in Houston, knabbing alleged murderers, rapists, and drug traffickers.
The series of ICE operations resulted in the arrest of 646 illegal aliens, including 543 of whom had been charged or convicted of a crime after illegally entering the United States.
ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Houston Special Agent in Charge Chad Plantz celebrated the operations, which were conducted in coordination with local police, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and multiple federal law enforcement agencies.
“In just one week working alongside our counterparts from federal, state and local law enforcement, ICE HSI special agents successfully executed 71 criminal arrest warrants and made 554 administrative arrests that included illegally present human smugglers, gang members, human traffickers, child sex offenders, drug traffickers and weapons traffickers,” Plantz <a href="https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/ice-arrests-543-criminal-aliens-7-gang-members-houston-area-during-week-long-multi">said</a>. “These collective efforts have made our local communities significantly safer and strengthened our national security and border security.”
Among those captured were 140 illegal aliens charged or convicted of violent crimes like homicide, aggravated assault, or domestic violence. Another 34 illegal aliens had been charged or convicted of sexual offenses, including rape, aggravated sexual assault of a minor, or possession of child pornography.
The operation also resulted in the capture of 52 illegal aliens charged or convicted of drug crimes, and 38 illegal aliens had been charged or convicted of firearm offenses. Ninety-three illegal aliens had been charged or convicted of driving under the influence.
“In recent years, some of the world’s most dangerous fugitives, transnational gang members and criminal aliens have taken advantage of the crisis at our nation’s southern border to illegally enter the U.S.,” charged ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Houston Field Office Director Bret Bradford. “After illegally entering the country, many of these criminal aliens have gone on to commit violent crime and reign terror on law-abiding residents.”
The arrests come after Colony Ridge, a sprawling land development north of Houston that The Daily Wire revealed is a magnet for illegal aliens, was recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nearly-100-illegals-captured-in-colony-ridge-deportation-raids">raided by ICE</a> and the Texas Department of Public Safety, resulting in the arrest of 118 illegal aliens.

The Trump administration has reportedly repurposed a mobile application that the Biden administration used as a gateway for migrants to enter the United States and will now use the platform to encourage illegal aliens to self-deport back to their home countries.
Formerly called the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) One app, the app allowed hundreds of thousands of migrants to remotely schedule appointments at points of entry, allowing them to be paroled into the country&#8217;s interior during the Biden administration.
Now, under President Donald Trump, the app will be <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/leave-now-trump-admin-repurposes-controversial-cbp-one-app-encourage-self-deportations">updated to “CBP Home”</a> and will allow migrants to “submit intent to depart” and “verify departure” from the United States. The app will automatically update on the devices that had installed Biden’s version of the platform, allowing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to track them for removal.
&#8220;The Biden Administration exploited the CBP One App to allow more than 1 million aliens to illegally enter the United States,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said. “With the launching of the CBP Home App, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system.”
&#8220;The CBP Home App gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream,” Noem added. “If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.”
Trump shut down the Biden administration’s version of the app on his first day in office while moving to freeze parole applications and allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement to cancel the parole statuses of migrants.
The new CBP Home app comes as the Trump administration has launched a series of efforts to deter would-be border crossers and deport illegal aliens currently present in the United States.
Noem announced “a nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning illegal aliens to leave our country NOW or face deportation with the inability to return to the US” last month.
“If you are considering entering America illegally, don’t even think about it. Let me be clear. If you come to our country and you break our laws, we will hunt you down,” the DHS secretary said.
The Trump administration has also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ice-arrests-11000-illegal-aliens-in-first-18-days-of-trump-administration">deported</a> 11,00o illegal aliens in the first 18 days of his second term, while the Department of Defense is working to prepare the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base to house <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/united-states-begins-flying-illegal-aliens-to-guantanamo-bay">tens of thousands</a> of criminal illegal alien detainees.

An illegal migrant pedophile from Haiti is now in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) despite a sympathetic parole board trying to save him from deportation several weeks ago.
Guerino Magloire, 52, was <a href="http://www.ctinmateinfo.state.ct.us/detailsupv.asp?id_inmt_num=255393" target="_blank" rel="noopener">serving</a> five years in prison for felony second-degree sexual assault against a child between 13 and 15 years old. He was convicted of sexually assaulting the child on March 11, 2020, just as pandemic lockdowns were starting, and he was sentenced in November the next year.
In December, Magloire was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/connecticut-parole-board-pardons-illegal-migrant-pedophile-who-says-he-might-re-offend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> from a Connecticut prison after his parole board mulled how to best help him avoid deportation.
The Trump administration, the parole board decided, would not be able to get its act together fast enough to deport the illegal migrant pedophile before his 30-day immigration detainer runs out. “They can’t elect a Speaker of the House,” one board member scoffed.
Magloire is currently &#8220;in ICE custody&#8221; and being held at the Wyatt Detention Center in Rhode Island, <a href="https://locator.ice.gov/odls/#/results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to ICE&#8217;s online detainee location system.
During his parole <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RluWJ6xkhQo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hearing</a> on New Year’s Eve, Magloire said he cannot promise he will not offend again.

“I can’t say I promise that it’s not going to happen because that’s not always a thing, when you say, ‘Oh I promise,&#8217;” Magloire told the parole board. “No, I’m not going to say I promise, but I will definitely try to do my best, my best to keep myself away from situations like that again.”
Later, he said again, “I did say that I can’t promise not making a mistake.”
Magloire scored as a moderate to high risk on an evaluation <a href="https://www.sog.unc.edu/sites/default/files/course_materials/3.0%20Static-99R-Coding-Form_0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">used</a> to predict whether a male sexual offender will re-offend.
Despite those red flags, the parole board released him that day from Carl Robinson Correctional Institution north of Hartford.
Magloire is in the country illegally. He came to the United States from Haiti in 1984 when he was 11 and had an immigration detainer, meaning ICE was ready to deport him as soon as he was released from prison.
His parole board lamented the situation. The board <a href="https://portal.ct.gov/bopp/bopp_front-_pages/common-elements/about-us/meet-the-parole-board" target="_blank" rel="noopener">included</a> two women, Rufaro <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/rufaro-berry-a1316b144/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Berry</a> and Deborah Smith-<a href="https://www.notredamehs.com/about/leadership?id=3750" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Palmieri</a>, and one man, Michael Pohl.
“Unfortunately the person who’s taking over our current administration, he’s going to make sure that people like yourself are deported back,” Berry told Magloire. “It’s unfortunate that I think that the moment that we say that you’re going to be granted, or if we grant your discretionary parole, the process will begin.”
“I want to be perfectly clear,” she told the convict. “If we grant your discretionary parole today, you’ll be transported to a halfway house where you’ll wait for ICE to pick you up, and you will be returned. You won’t reunite with your family. That’s not going to happen, sir.”
“Oh, so they’re going to take me right back?” Magloire asked.
“They’re going to take you right back in a matter of days,” Berry responded.
“So even though the country is in turmoil the way it is?” he said.
“That’s not our concern. That’s out of our control,” she said.
Magloire shook his head.
“Yeah,” Berry said.
Berry suggested Magloire might have a better chance of fighting his deportation detainer in prison than if he is “sent out of the country and trying to get back.”
However, another board member, Pohl, pushed back with a different perspective.
“So my take on this is that we parole him today because they can’t elect a Speaker of the House — I don’t think the Trump administration is going to be in a position in the next 30 days, which is what they hold him, to deport him,” Pohl said.
Pohl is <a href="https://www.manchesterctdems.info/mike-pohl/?_sm_nck=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also</a> the chairman of the Manchester Democrats.
In the end, all three parole board members agreed to release Magloire, deciding he would have the “best opportunity to dispute this immigration detainer if he is granted discretionary parole.”
Magloire sobbed and folded his hands, saying, “Thank you, I will not disappoint you again, I will not let this happen.”
“I cannot be in here no more,” he said.
Magloire was on the sex offender registry as far back as two decades ago. In 1998, he was convicted of injury or risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children.
That did not stop him from <a href="https://www.thehour.com/norwalk/article/Schools-sex-offender-was-never-custodian-8293006.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">trying</a> to get a job as a custodian at an elementary school a few years later in 2007 and even showing up at the school, causing an uproar among parents.
Stamford police said they found evidence Magloire may have worked one day at Newfield Elementary School before his background checks were complete. The school district denied this, claiming Magloire showed up before he was hired.

President Donald Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has racked up 11,000 illegal alien arrests in the first 18 days of this administration as the president seeks to enact the largest mass deportation operation in the history of the United States.
The figure, <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/02/07/us-news/ice-makes-staggering-11k-illegal-migrant-arrests-in-just-18-days-forcing-agency-to-take-over-four-federal-prisons/">reported</a> by the New York Post, includes a multitude of violent criminal offenders and members of gangs and cartels.
The arrests have resulted in the capture of Fernando Vasquez-Mendoza in Rio Grande Valley, Texas, with ICE explaining that the man, a previously deported Mexican national, is a hired killer working on behalf of the Gulf Cartel.
Federal immigration enforcement agents have also arrested Cristian Jose Concepcion-Manrique, a member of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua who had a prior assault conviction and illegally entered the United States in December by way of El Paso.
The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/meet-the-criminal-illegal-aliens-captured-in-ices-sunday-raids">highlighted</a> a number of violent criminals captured around the country on the last Sunday in January, including a Tren de Aragua member, a Mexican national in possession of child pornography, a drug and weapons trafficker, and even a member of MS-13 who engaged in “acts of terrorism” in his home country.

ICE’s arrest figures are already on track to dwarf those of the previous administration, which made 33,000 arrests through ICE last year, a Department of Homeland Security official said.
The recent arrests are also testing ICE’s ability to hold such a high number of detainees. While ICE has the resources to hold 41,500 detainees, it now says it is “burning well over that to the tune of several hundred million dollars.”
ICE is expected to open four different detention facilities Friday, each of which will be operated by the Bureau of Prisons.
The Trump administration has also begun <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/united-states-begins-flying-illegal-aliens-to-guantanamo-bay">flying criminal illegal aliens</a> to Guantanamo Bay, with Marines also being sent to the naval base to establish more detention capacity for illegal alien detainees. Trump says that once complete, it will be able to hold 30,000 illegal aliens.
