The House passed President Donald Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” on Thursday, overcoming significant Democratic opposition and internal Republican hesitancy to hand the president a major legislative victory. 
The Republican-controlled House voted 218-214 to pass the measure shortly after Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) wrapped up an hours-long speech delaying the bill’s advancement. Trump, who imposed a July 4 deadline for its passage, is expected to sign the bill at the White House sometime on Friday.  
&#8220;With one big, beautiful bill, we are going to make this country stronger, safer, and more prosperous than ever before. And every American is going to benefit from this,&#8221; House Speaker Mike Johnson said just before the vote. &#8220;Today we are laying a key cornerstone of America&#8217;s new golden age.&#8221;
To reach the final vote, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) spent hours working with Republican holdouts to get them to back the measure. Once he opened up the vote on advancing the bill to final debate, Johnson said he would keep the vote open as long as needed to secure the votes. 
“It will have all been worth it in the end. And we will meet our July 4 deadline, which everybody mocked when I said it,” Johnson told reporters after midnight on Thursday. 
By 3:30 a.m., Johnson had the votes, and the House voted 219-213 to send the bill to a final debate and vote. 
After that vote, Jeffries spoke for more than eight hours, utilizing a rule that allows House leadership members to speak for as long as they want. During his speech, Jeffries accused Republicans of imperiling the welfare of Americans who rely on programs like Medicaid and food stamps.
Throughout the night Trump also pushed Republicans to back the measure, which makes the 2017 tax cuts permanent, increases funding for border security, enacts work requirements for able-bodied recipients of Medicaid and food stamps, defunds Planned Parenthood for a year, funds the “Golden Dome” missile defense program, and ends taxes on tips and overtime.

By morning, Trump was celebrating. 
“What a great night it was. One of the most consequential Bills ever. The USA is the ‘HOTTEST’ Country in the World, by far!!!” Trump posted on Truth Social. 
Republican leadership also celebrated the passage of the bill.

The Senate faced a similar marathon legislative process to pass the bill, spending all of Monday night and Tuesday morning considering amendments before holding a final vote. Vice President JD Vance broke a 50-50 split after three Republicans refused to vote for the bill. The Senate made several major changes as it received the bill from the House, including moving to cut the solar and wind tax and stripping a provision that would have paused all state regulations of artificial intelligence for 10 years.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) set a new record on Thursday when his &#8220;Magic Minute&#8221; dragged on for more than eight hours and 33 minutes, challenging even his most ardent supporters&#8217; commitment to keeping their eyes open so that they could watch him meet that milestone.
While the House of Representatives does not have the filibuster — a fact that mercifully spares members from stunts of this caliber most of the time — there is a privilege afforded to party leaders known as the &#8220;Magic Minute,&#8221; which essentially allows them to speak uninterrupted for as long as they&#8217;d like. Even after it became clear that the Republicans had the votes to pass President Donald Trump&#8217;s One Big, Beautiful Bill, Jeffries continued to speak — turning what was already a stunt of epic proportions into an futile effort to filibuster the inevitable: his party had already lost.

When Jeffries finally chucked it in after eight hours and 44 minutes, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) stepped up for his bite at the apple, but to the great relief of everyone present, he used his Magic Minute to move things along relatively quickly — but he couldn&#8217;t resist a jab at Jeffries.

A group of over 50 House Republicans on Friday introduced a resolution condemning the murder of Israeli embassy staffers Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky.
“This wasn’t just a tragedy, it was a targeted act of antisemitic terrorism carried out by a radical leftist,” Rep. Addison McDowell, who introduced the resolution, told The Daily Wire.
“Yaron and Sarah were murdered for being Jewish and for believing in peace. When a movement sympathizes with terrorists, we shouldn’t be surprised when that same movement produces actual terrorists.”
Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, was detained by police on suspicion of murdering Lischinsky, 30, and Milgrim, 26, on Wednesday night in Washington, D.C. The couple was shot at close range, and Milgrim was shot multiple times while crawling away, according to court documents. According to police, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/charges-revealed-in-d-c-terror-attack-shooter-did-it-for-palestine-fbi-says?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Charges+Revealed+In+D.C.+Terror+Attack%3B+Shooter+%E2%80%98Did+It+For+Palestine%2C%E2%80%99+FBI+Says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the terrorist told </a>officers he “did it for Palestine.”
No Democrats signed on to the resolution.
Cosponsors of the bill include heavy hitters like Reps. Lisa McClain (R-MI), Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Max Miller (R-OH), who is Jewish.
McDowell said he introduced the resolution to condemn growing antisemitism and to honor the lives of the slain couple.

“I want Congress to be on the record that it’s not just that antisemitism is evil, but also that the killer was part of an evil movement that seems to be growing in our country,” he said. “We can’t paper over that. We need to address it head on.”
The resolution, titled “Condemning Antisemitism and Remembering Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim,” identifies antisemitism as a “centuries-old form of hatred and discrimination that has led to immeasurable suffering, persecution, and loss of life, culminating most horrifically in the Holocaust, and continues to manifest in violence, vandalism, and policies targeting Jewish communities around the world.”
It cites the rise of antisemitic incidents in the United States, including attacks on synagogues, Jewish schools, museums, cultural centers, and individuals perceived as Jewish.

Rodriguez was once affiliated with the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a leftist group linked to Chinese Communist Party funding networks that have been repeatedly contacted by sanctioned Iranian state media, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terrorist-who-killed-israeli-embassy-staffers-was-influenced-by-a-foreign-linked-leftist-org?author=Kassy+Akiva&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Terrorist+Who+Killed+Israeli+Embassy+Staffers+Was+Influenced+By+A+Foreign-Linked+Leftist+Org" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to a report</a>.

Milgrim, who grew up in the Kansas City suburbs, was a full-time employee at the embassy’s Department of Public Diplomacy. She received her Master of Arts at American University and was also a graduate of the University for Peace.
The “About” section on her LinkedIn profile says her “passion lies at the intersection of peacebuilding, religious engagement, and environmental work.”
Robert said his daughter spent multiple summers in Israel working with “peace-building groups” to mend the divide between Israelis and Arabs. He added that his daughter was supposed to travel to Israel on Sunday to meet Lischinsky&#8217;s family.

“She was happier now than she ever was in her life,” Robert said. “She was truly in love with Yaron and vice versa.”
At a Wednesday night press conference, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter said Lischinsky and Milgrim were about to get engaged.

“The couple that was gunned down tonight in the name of free Palestine is a couple that was about to be engaged,” he said. “The young man purchased a ring this week with the intention of proposing to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem. They were a beautiful couple who came to enjoy an evening in Washington’s cultural center.”
Lischinsky, 30, was a German-Israeli dual citizen and a devout evangelical Christian who immigrated to Israel at the age of 16 and served in the Israel Defense Forces. He studied at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and was fluent in German, Hebrew, English, and Japanese.
He moved to work as a political analyst at the Israeli embassy in 2022.

The Trump-backed “big, beautiful bill&#8221; House Republicans passed early Thursday will prohibit all federal funding for transgender procedures on both children and adults if signed into law.
During a marathon nighttime session, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) successfully expanded a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/republicans-take-big-step-to-codify-trumps-battle-against-gender-insanity?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Republicans+Take+Big+Step+To+Codify+Trump’s+Battle+Against+Gender+Insanity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">provision</a> banning funding for transgender procedures for kids to include adults as well. Due to Crenshaw&#8217;s amendment, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program will no longer cover life-altering and dangerous transgender medical procedures.
&#8220;The Crenshaw Amendment will become law — and it’s long overdue,&#8221; the Texas Republican told The Daily Wire. &#8220;Gender transition procedures are the lobotomy of our generation. So-called &#8216;gender-affirming care&#8217; isn’t healthcare—it’s fringe science with no proven benefit and massive risks.&#8221;
The provision was secured by an amendment to Section 1903(i) of the Social Security Act, prohibiting funding for medically unnecessary procedures. This would mean funding would no longer go toward things like removing the breasts of women who identify as men or crafting pseudo male or female genitalia for transgender-identifying individuals.
Last week, Crenshaw introduced a provision banning the funding of the procedures on kids into the House Energy and Commerce Committee budget bill that it sent to the House Budget Committee. That provision alone would have saved $1.4 billion in taxpayer dollars, The Daily Signal <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2025/05/15/republicans-could-secure-about-1-4-billion-savings-through-defunding-child-transitions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> last week.
The full House passed the budget bill 215-214 Thursday morning, including Crenshaw&#8217;s transgender funding ban for both kids and adults. President Donald Trump has cited the ban on funding of child transgender procedures as one of the reasons for Republicans to back the bill.
Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) has pushed for a similar provision to end all taxpayer funding of transgender procedures.

Crenshaw also secured reimbursements for Texas and other border states that have borne the brunt of the illegal immigration under former President Joe Biden, and added work requirements for able-bodied adults to be eligible for Medicaid, with exceptions for disabled people or pregnant women.
Social conservatives also picked up another major win with the advancement of the budget bill, as it would end Medicaid funding for abortion giant Planned Parenthood. Terry Schilling, the president of the American Principles Project, celebrated the passage of the bill.

WASHINGTON—Border Czar Tom Homan is celebrating the passage of President Donald Trump’s “Big, Beautiful” reconciliation bill, arguing in an interview with The Daily Wire that the bill is pivotal to protecting the southern border and empowering border authorities to do their jobs.
“We’ve made a lot of progress on the border, but we want to keep it permanent,” he told The Daily Wire outside the White House Wednesday, ahead of the bill&#8217;s passage. “We need the money, not just for the border, but interior enforcement operations. Money for the border is gonna help continue building the border wall. Every place the border barrier&#8217;s been built, illegal immigration went down, illegal drug flow went down, so we gotta put more border wall up.”

The Republican-led House passed the bill in a 215 to 214 vote early Thursday morning, a significant victory for the president after back-to-back, all-night sessions in the Rules Committee and on the House floor.
The Trump administration has emphasized the massive role that the bill would play in securing the border. As he spoke with The Daily Wire on Wednesday, Homan broke down the specifics of how the bill would assist in guarding the United States from illegal entries.
There’s also technology in the existing border wall that must be implemented, Homan argued. Particularly in areas where there is not a wall, or authorities are unable to build a wall, the border czar said it is important to have the technology to “let us know when someone’s crossing the border.”
“We need the technology added to the wall so border patrol agents can communicate to one another in dead areas. It&#8217;s gonna let us know when people approach the wall, climb over the wall, dig under the wall. We need that technology. So wall and technology plus technology where there&#8217;s not a wall, right?”
“Also, technology at the ports of entry,” he added. “So trade can continue at a fast pace, but we have best technology, find drugs and other contraband coming through the ports.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also needs money, Homan pointed out.
“ICE is in the hole right now,” he explained. “They&#8217;ve got about 50,000 people in beds. We&#8217;re funded for 34,000. ICE is already in the hole, so if we want to continue this massive deportation operation, we need more money.”
He also touted the Trump administration’s success on the border thus far.
“We&#8217;re doing great. Right now, the criminals arrested by ICE are about three times higher than Joe Biden under the same timeframe, but it should be 10 times higher because Joe Biden wasn’t doing anything. So we need more money to do more.”
“People are asking, they don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s enough deportations, not enough ICE arrests,” he continued. “I agree with &#8217;em. I&#8217;m pushing for more arrests. We need money to do it. We need more money for boots on the ground. More money for detention beds. We should have at least a hundred thousand beds.”
“We need more for transportation contracts. We need more money for contractors to do jobs that don&#8217;t require a badge and gun. A badge and gun shouldn&#8217;t be doing administrative work. We need &#8217;em on the street wrestling bad guys. So we need money for all those things.”
Homan repeatedly emphasized that securing the border should be a bipartisan issue, noting that &#8220;there are a handful of Democrats that believe in border security and national security.&#8221;
&#8220;But as a party, you’re never gonna get every vote from every Democrat,&#8221; he noted. &#8220;&#8216;Cause I think a lot of &#8217;em put politics over public safety plus politics over national security.”
“I think there&#8217;s a political firestorm right now,” he explained. “I don&#8217;t think Democrats are ever gonna agree. Our success shows their failure. Our success shows the lies of the last administration saying the border is secure, showing they&#8217;re vetting everybody, and all the lies they told we&#8217;re proving &#8217;em wrong.”
“We&#8217;re proving &#8217;em wrong by arresting people that they released, they said were vetted. We find out they have significant criminal histories. We&#8217;re arresting national security threats every week that they said didn&#8217;t exist, and we truly secured the border. So I think our success shows their failure and they don’t wanna show that,” Homan shared.
Homan pointed out to The Daily Wire that he’s been involved with border security since 1984.
“I’ve worked for six different presidents. I&#8217;ve seen hundreds of policies come and go. I know what works, what doesn&#8217;t. What we&#8217;re doing right now is working. It&#8217;s a game changer.”
“There’s people who don&#8217;t want [us] to succeed,” he emphasized. “There’s members of Congress truly that don&#8217;t want President Trump to succeed, and I find that shocking as an American, as a taxpayer, as someone who&#8217;s dedicated 40 years to doing this, it&#8217;s shocking that every member of Congress, regardless of political opinion, why would you not want the President of the United States to succeed in securing the border and removing public safety threats and national security threats from this country?”
“Give us some money to deal with it, prove that you&#8217;re really representing your constituents,” he concluded. “Prove that you actually care about the safety and security of this country. Love your community more than you hate President Trump.”

There are many ways in which the House of Representatives is feeling the effects of the absence of former Congresswoman Cori Bush. You might remember that Cori Bush was the only member of Congress in the history of this country who <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/06/17/us-news/cori-bush-doubled-down-on-bizarre-faith-healing-claims-in-tv-interview-my-hand-just-began-to-move/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> to have performed a bona fide miracle while in office. Specifically, in a televised interview, Bush said that she once cured a woman&#8217;s cancer simply by placing her hands on the woman&#8217;s body. As she put it: &#8220;This [homeless] lady came to us, and she had these tumors, and she wanted us to like, feel them. &#8230; I laid hands on her and prayed, and then I felt that my hand was no longer touching a tumor. It shrank along with the others on her body. &#8230; And the lumps that were there were no longer there. She was so happy, and she went on about her day.&#8221;
It&#8217;s too bad that this homeless woman disappeared, because this kind of interaction seems like the thing that cancer researchers might have been interested in following up on. But in any event, Bush didn&#8217;t stop there, because as we all know, you need *two* miracles in order to qualify for sainthood. Normally, these miraculous events occur after the saint has died. But Bush doesn&#8217;t have time for that. Therefore, she claimed that she also once helped a toddler take her first steps in St. Louis, even though the child was gravely ill. “I carried the child from the prayer room in the back of the church out into the sanctuary . . . ‘Walk,’ I said gently to the three-year-old girl, ‘You will walk.’ And this girl took her first step,” Bush wrote.
Because Bush was voted out of office in the last election, unfortunately, we don&#8217;t hear stories like this anymore. Therefore, until Jesus himself returns, we can assume that countless hobos in St. Louis will continue to suffer needlessly from cancer and all kinds of other horrible afflictions. But despite that sad reality, it&#8217;s not all bad news. Consider the fact that, without Cori Bush&#8217;s voice to amplify them, a lot of fraudulent BLM narratives will die before they get started. We also won&#8217;t have to listen to her tributes to Michael Brown and George Floyd every year. So that&#8217;s something, at least. Yes, we&#8217;ve lost a miracle worker. But we&#8217;ve gained some peace and quiet.
Or at least, we thought we gained some peace and quiet. At the moment, there is a concerted effort underway among House Democrats to revive the &#8220;legacy&#8221; of Cori Bush, such as it is. But they&#8217;re not revising the whole &#8220;bid for sainthood&#8221; routine. Instead, they&#8217;re doubling down on Cori Bush&#8217;s true passion in life, which is whipping up a race war. And to that end, Democrats are revitalizing one of Bush&#8217;s dumbest ideas, which is her plan to enact trillions of dollars in reparations.

Representative Summer Lee led the reintroduction of the Reparations Now resolution, which was first introduced in 2023 by former Representative Cori Bush. The resolution calls for the federal government to allocate trillions of dollars in reparations to Black Americans.&#8221;

Keep in mind, the entire federal budget for the last fiscal year was around $7 trillion. So we&#8217;re talking about spending a very significant chunk of the federal budget on handouts to black people, essentially. And on top of these trillions of dollars in reparations, Cory Booker and Jasmine Crockett are planning to introduce the &#8220;Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Commission Act,&#8221; which would supposedly “acknowledge and memorialize the arrival of the first slave ship in the United States and the injustices suffered by people of color throughout history.”
Here are Ayanna Pressley and Summer Lee to explain. And I promise these clips aren&#8217;t sped up in any way, at least as far as I know. They&#8217;re simply talking really, really fast for some reason. Watch:

Now, before we go any further with the specifics of this legislation, I have to provide something of a disclosure at this point. We&#8217;ve talked about the issue of reparations many times on this show, to be sure. But now I have a very personal stake in the issue. And that&#8217;s because recently, and somewhat unexpectedly &#8212; and I say this with nothing but modesty in my heart &#8212; I have become something of a pioneer when it comes to the issue of reparations in the United States. In fact, according to all available information, I am the only person in America who has actually paid reparations, along with the famed author Robin DiAngelo.
Now, you might point out that I was undercover doing a movie when I paid my reparations. And you might point out that I took my reparations back immediately after the cameras were off. And you might point out that my reparations were like $20. And all of that&#8217;s true. But it&#8217;s not the important thing to keep in mind here. The important thing is that I&#8217;m an expert in this issue, and therefore, I have no choice but to chime in and provide my analysis.
And with that in mind, the first thing that needs to be said is that, if we really want &#8220;reparations&#8221; for the descendants of slaves, then we&#8217;re going to spend a lot more than a few trillion dollars. That&#8217;s because every single person who&#8217;s alive right now on the planet, if you go back far enough, has ancestors who were slaves. Period, no exceptions. The Romans alone enslaved millions of people from all over the world. So did Egypt, Greece, China, the Persians, the Russians, the Mayans, the Aztecs, and Ottomans, and so on.
And that&#8217;s not even getting into indentured servitude. Take a look at what happened to Irish Catholics in the 17th century in places like Barbados, for example. Technically, many of these Irishmen became &#8220;indentured servants,&#8221; not slaves. But in many cases, that meant that they were treated even worse than slaves, since they weren&#8217;t expected to work for their entire lives. Roughly half of them died within four years, by some estimates. As the researcher Michael Mahoney <a href="https://blog.nationalarchives.gov.uk/irish-indentured-labour-in-the-caribbean/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pointed out</a>: &#8220;John Scott, an English adventurer who travelled in the West Indies during the Commonwealth, saw Irish servants working in field gangs with slaves, ‘without stockings under the scorching sun’. The Irish, he wrote, were &#8216;derided by the negroes, and branded with the Epithet of ‘white slaves.&#8221; &#8230; Once in the Caribbean, many plantation owners considered servants and freemen from Ireland as a potentially subversive lot who had to be controlled and kept in a labouring status. Punishments for attempted escapes included branding the letters ‘FT’ (Fugitive Traitor) on the servant’s forehead. One assembly member in Barbados is quoted in 1667 as stating, ‘We have more than a good many Irish amongst us, therefore I am for the downright Scott, who I am certain will fight without a crucifix about his neck.'&#8221;
In other words, there&#8217;s obvious anti-Catholic bigotry at work here, and in many cases, these Irish servants were treated far worse than slaves as they worked alongside them. And this is just one of dozens more examples. Here&#8217;s another. Did you know that, in 1797, 20% of the U.S. federal budget &#8212; a total of one million dollars at the time &#8212; went to paying tribute to Muslim nations in North Africa, so that they&#8217;d stop enslaving white people? This was a big business for them; in total, they enslaved more than a million whites from both Europe and the United States. This was during the Barbary Wars. For context, today, we don&#8217;t spend anywhere near 20% of the U.S. budget on defense spending. But in 1797, we spent 20% of the budget on ransom payments to Algiers. And as we did so, the Africans made sure to mock Americans at every opportunity. The tribute was ultimately ferried to Constantinople by the frigate USS George Washington, and along the way, the Africans forced the American warship to fly an Ottoman flag. This was sadistic brutality at every level. They only stopped enslaving white people when they were forced to do so.
These are chapters from American history that you don&#8217;t hear much about. Certainly, smooth-brained race hustlers like Ayanna Pressley won&#8217;t mention any of this. That&#8217;s because, as always, their goal isn&#8217;t actually to have a serious discussion about reparations &#8212; to the extent it&#8217;s even possible to do so. They know that this resolution has no chance of passing in either chamber of Congress, much less being signed into law. They know that this is a purely performative piece of legislation that&#8217;s intended to stoke racial conflict, and enrage as many people as possible so that they&#8217;ll feel entitled and envious. And then they might finally start rioting, as Democrats desperately want them to do.
Of course, indirect, inexplicit reparations have already been paid &#8212; in the form of DEI policies, affirmative action, the welfare state, and every other policy put in place in the name of white guilt. Most of the federal government is a kind of make-work program for certain demographics, to funnel them taxpayer money without any accountability. And we see what good all of that has done for the black community. But explicit reparations &#8212; the kind where black Americans get money simply for being black Americans &#8212; will almost certainly never happen. From a political perspective, it&#8217;s not feasible. This is yet another failed idea from the Cori Bush playbook, one among many.
At the same time, it&#8217;s interesting to note that this legislation comes at the very moment that white South Africans are fleeing their homeland, seeking refuge in the United States. They&#8217;re being forcibly evicted from their own homes solely because of their skin color, as we&#8217;ve discussed several times this week. And you know what that means: There&#8217;s about to be a lot more room in Africa for any supposedly oppressed group in the United States, including congresswomen like Ayanna Pressley. So maybe there&#8217;s an opportunity here for a kind of &#8220;reparation through repatriation.&#8221; Maybe we can offer some of these Democrats a taxpayer-funded, all-expenses-paid trip to whatever lands their ancestors came from. Since we&#8217;re judging everyone by their ancestors, it seems more than appropriate. Plus, they&#8217;ll gain access to plenty of fertile farmland in South Africa, as Don Lemon often reminds us. The opportunity for untold riches, in a land totally devoid of white people, is right there for the taking.
Will Ayanna Pressley and Summer Lee and all of these other Democrats seize that opportunity? Of course not. That&#8217;s because they know that, when given the opportunity, they can&#8217;t govern. They can&#8217;t improve anyone&#8217;s lives. They certainly can&#8217;t manage a farm. All they&#8217;re capable of doing is demonizing white people and looting the treasury. And without white people to demonize, there won&#8217;t be any money to loot. That&#8217;s why &#8220;reparations&#8221; is a losing issue for Democrats. It&#8217;s also why South Africa is about to collapse entirely. And it&#8217;s why, as more Americans wake up to the reality of what&#8217;s happening, politicians like Ayanna Pressley and Summer Lee and Ilhan Omar will go the way of Cori Bush. They&#8217;ll be removed from Congress by the voters. That is the outcome these anti-white politicians are apparently clamoring for. And now that they&#8217;ve introduced this reparations bill once again, and made it clear they have no interest in representing all Americans regardless of race, we should give it to them.

House Republicans took major step on Wednesday afternoon towards codifying President Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts to protect children from transgender procedures during a marathon markup session for the &#8220;one, big, beautiful bill&#8221; working its way through Congress.
After a 26-hour budget hearing, the House Energy and Commerce Committee passed a provision from Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) that would block federal dollars funding transgender procedures. This means that Medicaid, Affordable Care Act, and Children&#8217;s Health Insurance Program money will no longer be allowed to fund procedures like removing the breasts of girls who identify as boys or putting children on cross-sex hormones, if the provision makes it through the rest of the reconciliation process.
The provision was included in the committee&#8217;s portion of the Trump-backed budget bill. In a video shared with The Daily Wire, Crenshaw said he believed that ultimately his proposal would become law.
&#8220;I think it will pass the House, I think it will pass the Senate. I think President Trump will sign it into law. Keep in mind, President Trump has already done an executive action on this, but it needs to be codified for it to really take effect. This is a huge win,&#8221; he said. &#8220;You got to protect these kids, the science is clear at this point.&#8221;

He added that it was &#8220;interesting&#8221; that Democrats did not introduce any amendments to block his provision while they did for every other GOP-backed proposal.
&#8220;They know it&#8217;s a losing issue, they know we won this issue. They know to stay away from it. Stay away from kids. Stop doing pseudo-science, scientific experiments on children who would be better off in therapy. We&#8217;re winning.&#8221;
Crenshaw introduced his provision at around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, roughly 25 hours after the committee began its meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
&#8220;This will become law and I couldn&#8217;t be happier about it,&#8221; Crenshaw said. &#8220;Gender transition procedures are the lobotomy of our generation. People will look back on this period, I think with disbelief, I guarantee it. &#8216;Gender-affirming care&#8217; isn&#8217;t healthcare, it&#8217;s fringe science with no proven benefit and enormous risks.&#8221;
Democrat Rep. Nanette Díaz Barragán (CA) referred to Crenshaw&#8217;s comments as &#8220;gibberish&#8221; and attacked Republicans over provisions meant to reform Medicaid.
Crenshaw proposed a similar bill in January. Now, the proposal from the House Energy Committee will go to the House Budget Committee, which will then combine each of the House committee&#8217;s budget proposals into one piece of legislation that will then go to the full House for a vote.
The Texas Republican&#8217;s provision was part of the House Energy Committee&#8217;s commitment to identify $880 billion in spending cuts. Another proposal from Crenshaw was an 80-hour-per-month work, training, or volunteer requirement for able-bodied, working-age adults without dependents to get Medicaid. Exceptions for seniors, pregnant women, caregivers, students, and those with disabilities were given.
If Crenshaw&#8217;s transgender procedures proposal makes it across the finish line, it would cement in law President Donald Trump&#8217;s executive order on &#8220;Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation.&#8221; Trump directed his cabinet to ensure that no federal dollars were going toward hospitals or institutions that promote or perform transgender procedures on children.
Trump&#8217;s executive order called for Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to look at ways to &#8220;take all appropriate actions to end the chemical and surgical mutilation of children&#8221; including by examining Medicaid funding. The Department of Health and Human Services <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hhs-releases-damning-review-of-gender-treatments-for-minors-the-risks-cannot-be-ignored" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released a report</a> earlier this month documenting the risks of transgender procedures for children, including infertility, sexual dysfunction, and cardiovascular disease.
In the other chamber, Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) is pushing for his “No Subsidies for Gender Transition Procedures Act,&#8221; which would prohibit federal dollars from funding any transgender medical procedure, to be included in the reconciliation process.

Republicans Take Big Step To Codify Trump’s Battle Against Gender Insanity

On Tuesday, April 1, two critical special elections will be held in Florida. GOP state senator Randy Fine is running to succeed former Rep. Mike Waltz, who was named National Security Advisor, and Florida chief financial officer and GOP candidate Jimmy Patronis is running to succeed former Rep. Matt Gaetz.
The races are critical because the GOP currently holds a narrow 218-213 advantage in the House, with four vacancies. Two other races will be held for vacant Democratic seats in Texas and Arizona, expected to be won by Democrats.
Fine is facing off against Democratic opponent Joshua Weil; Patronis is facing Democrat Gay Valimont. Fine’s district has roughly twice as many registered Republicans as Democrats, the <a href="https://dos.fl.gov/elections/data-statistics/voter-registration-statistics/voter-registration-reports/voter-registration-by-county-and-party/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Florida Division of Elections website</a> notes. But Weil has <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/5212893-florida-gov-ron-desantis-special-election/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> nearly $10 million, while Fine has only raised $561,000.
“He needs to do better. But we’re going to win that seat,” National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC)  <a href="https://x.com/reesejgorman/status/1904267473911742657" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>. “I would have preferred if our candidate had raised money at a faster rate and gotten on TV quicker. But he’s doing what he needs to do.”
Winning the two Florida seats is clearly vital for the GOP; NY Rep. Elise Stefanik&#8217;s nomination for UN Ambassador was pulled on Thursday out of concern that a vacancy in her district would reduce the GOP majority by another vote.
On Monday, President Trump, whom Fine supported in the GOP primary, offered a hearty endorsement of Fine on Truth Social, <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114217184366735434" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stating</a>:

Critical Florida Special Elections For GOP Coming On Tuesday

The GOP-led <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-house-of-representatives" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/u-s-senate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate</a> are pressing ahead with tax and budget legislation to implement President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a>&#8216;s second-term agenda.
The Senate is going with a two-step approach, with one focused on certain priorities such as border security, and the second dealing with tax break extensions, according to the <a href="https://www.kktv.com/2025/02/07/house-gop-rushing-produce-trumps-big-budget-bill-with-tax-cuts-program-cuts-other-promises/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>.
Senate Budget Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) <a href="https://www.budget.senate.gov/hearings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scheduled</a> meetings this week to consider what is <a href="https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2025-02-09/us-house-speaker-to-pursue-one-big-bill-on-trumps-tax-agenda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> to be a $340 billion <a href="https://www.budget.senate.gov/chairman/newsroom/press/chairman-graham-unveils-fy-2025-budget-resolution-to-secure-the-border-revitalize-our-military-unleash-american-energy-production-and-begin-the-process-of-restoring-fiscal-sanity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plan</a>, which also tackles energy, the military, and spending.
Lawmakers plan to use the budget reconciliation process, which in the Senate requires only 51 votes to pass rather than 60, giving the GOP more breathing room with its 53-47 majority.
Before taking office, Trump <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/speaker-johnsons-push-pass-trumps-agenda-one-massive-bill-faces-big-hu-rcna186399" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he wanted &#8220;one big, beautiful bill,&#8221; but a week after his inauguration, he <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/one-bill-two-bills-i-dont-care-trump-promises-get-large-reconciliation-bill-passed-either-way" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a> that he did not care if it ended up being split into two.
However, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is vying for a single bill, arguing on &#8220;Fox News Sunday&#8221; that it &#8220;gives us the highest probability of success of delivering&#8221; Trump&#8217;s campaign promises.
Johnson <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkyf7-mOxME" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> anchor Shannon Bream there would be a budget markup this week, though he conceded that dealing with the GOP&#8217;s slim majority might take some time.
&#8220;I’ve got to make sure everyone agrees before we bring the project forward — that final product — and we&#8217;ve got a few more boxes to check, but we&#8217;re getting very, very close,&#8221; Johnson said.
In a post to X, Graham <a href="https://x.com/LindseyGrahamSC/status/1887958553580675538" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that he hopes the House can &#8220;find a way forward on a bigger budget reconciliation bill&#8221; but stressed that the Senate &#8220;cannot allow&#8221; the moment to pass.
During a meeting at the White House last week, Trump laid out his administration&#8217;s &#8220;tax priorities&#8221; to House Republicans, his press secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/karoline-leavitt-reveals-trump-admins-massive-tax-cut-priorities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told reporters</a>.
Leavitt listed them, including Trump&#8217;s proposals for no tax on tips, no tax on seniors&#8217; Social Security, no tax on overtime pay, and renewing the 2017 middle-class tax cuts.
She also mentioned adjusting the SALT deduction cap, eliminating tax breaks for billionaire sports team owners, closing the carried interest loophole, and tax cuts for products made in America.
&#8220;This will be the largest tax cut in history for middle-class working Americans,” Leavitt said. &#8220;The president is committed to working with Congress to get this done.&#8221;

A trans-identifying member of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Congress</a> was confronted with &#8220;biological reality&#8221; in the U.S. Capitol last week.
Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL), who was presiding over the House chamber on Thursday, called on Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE) to speak.
&#8220;The chair recognizes the gentleman from Delaware, Mr. McBride, for five minutes,&#8221; Miller said.
McBride, who identifies as a transgender woman, went on to speak critically of the Trump administration.
&#8220;I refused to deny biological reality,&#8221; Miller <a href="https://x.com/RepMaryMiller/status/1887573104609661188" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post to X. &#8220;Trump restored biological truth in the Federal Government.&#8221;

Miller was alluding to President Donald Trump taking <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-order-will-end-military-gender-insanity-ban-taxpayer-funded-gender-transitions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">actions</a> that are focused on gender during his second term.
&#8220;I refuse to perpetuate the lie that gender is open to our interpretation. It is not,&#8221; Miller added.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) <a href="https://x.com/RepMTG/status/1888053765812666688" target="_blank" rel="noopener">praised</a> Miller in a post to X.
&#8220;I’m proud of my friend Mary Miller for refusing to recognize and speak the lie,&#8221; Greene said. &#8220;God will not be mocked.&#8221;
Katie Miller, a member of the DOGE team and wife to White House official Stephen Miller, also commented.
&#8220;You are not required to live in someone else’s simulation,&#8221; Katie Miller <a href="https://x.com/katierosemiller/status/1888283931633672316" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
On X, McBride <a href="https://x.com/SarahEMcBride/status/1888273599242387886" target="_blank" rel="noopener">encouraged</a> people to watch the remarks that followed the 15-second clip of Rep. Miller&#8217;s introduction.
&#8220;It was my first ever floor speech!&#8221; emphasized McBride, a first-term member of the House.
This is not the first stand taken by Republicans in the trans debate over the past few months since the 2024 election.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a resolution to ban trans-identifying men from women’s bathrooms or facilities on Capitol Hill.
The Daily Wire exclusively <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-second-nancy-mace-bill-would-ban-men-from-womens-facilities-on-all-federal-property" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> Mace followed up with a similar measure that focused on all federal property.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) then <a href="https://apnews.com/article/sarah-mcbride-speaker-johnson-transgender-bathroom-f3943e1b3b2dc9c8d62d2ba6660aaf91" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> trans restroom restrictions in the U.S. Capitol and House office buildings.
McBride <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trans-identifying-congressman-agrees-not-to-use-female-bathrooms-after-johnson-brings-the-hammer-down" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> to abide by the directive while claiming it was an &#8220;effort to distract from the real issues&#8221; facing the country.
&#8220;I’m not here to fight about bathrooms,&#8221; McBride said. &#8220;I’m here to fight for Delawareans and to bring down costs facing families.&#8221;
McBride added: &#8220;Like all members, I will follow the rules as outlined by Speaker Johnson even if I disagree with them.&#8221;

Trans-Identifying Democrat Confronted With ‘Biological Reality,’ Introduced As ‘Gentleman’

It took just over two weeks after Inauguration Day for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House Democrats</a> to begin a push to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/impeachment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">impeach</a> President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> in his second administration.
Rep. Al Green (D-TX) announced Wednesday that he was introducing articles of impeachment, citing the prospect of &#8220;ethnic cleansing&#8221; after Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/united-states-will-take-over-gaza-strip-trump-says-during-netanyahu-press-conference" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proposed</a> the United States take over Gaza.
&#8220;The movement to impeach the president has begun,&#8221; Green said. &#8220;I rise to announce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.&#8221;
During a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, Trump proposed that the United States would take over the Gaza Strip.
&#8220;We&#8217;ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out,&#8221; Trump said.
He added the project would &#8220;create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area. Do a real job, do something different.&#8221;
As <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/united-states-will-take-over-gaza-strip-trump-says-during-netanyahu-press-conference" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by The Daily Wire, Trump mentioned earlier on Tuesday during an Oval Office meeting with Netanyahu that he wanted to have the entire population of Gaza relocated — not killed.
&#8220;We’re talking about probably 1.7 million people,&#8221; Trump told reporters. &#8220;I think they’ll be resettled in areas where they can live a beautiful life and not be worried about dying every day.&#8221;
The Gaza Strip has been mired in a conflict between Israel and Hamas ever since the October 7 terror attack of 2023. Both sides <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hostage-and-ceasefire-deal-reached-between-hamas-and-israel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reached</a> a hostage-and-ceasefire deal earlier this month.
Green is no stranger to proposing articles of impeachment against Trump. The congressman from the Houston area did so <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2019/07/17/al-greens-third-attempt-impeach-donald-trump-fails/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">multiple times</a> during Trump&#8217;s first term but to no avail.
However, Trump did get impeached twice, just not on articles brought by Green. One dealt with Ukraine, and the other with January 6. Both efforts ended in acquittal by a GOP-led Senate.
Green&#8217;s latest bid to impeach Trump will likely be dismissed like those in the past, as the House and Senate are controlled by Republicans who are largely aligned with the president.

House Democrat Moves To Impeach Trump Over ‘Dastardly Deeds’

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/laken-riley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Laken Riley</a>’s mother Allyson Phillips wept as she thanked President Donald Trump for keeping his promises and honoring the memory of her daughter with the passage of the “Laken Riley Act.”
During a ceremony at the White House on Wednesday, Trump signed into law the bipartisan bill, written after Laken, a 22-year-old Georgia nursing student, was killed in February of 2024 by an illegal alien. The bill requires federal officials to arrest non-citizens accused of violent and theft-related crimes in the United States, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-signs-laken-riley-act-into-law">reported</a>.
Phillips and President Trump shared an embrace before she took to the podium and spoke emotionally about the passage of the act and her daughter’s legacy.

“Our family will forever be grateful for the prayers of the people across our nation and for helping to get this legislation into law,” Phillips’ <a href="https://x.com/MaryMargOlohan/status/1884689786323042517">said</a>. “We also want to thank President Trump for the promises he made to us. He said he would secure our borders and that he would never forget about Laken.”
She then began to break down, tearing up as she described the president as a “man of his word” and said, “We trust that he will fight for the American people.”
“Most importantly, I want to thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ because, without his sacrifices, Laken’s story would’ve ended on that horrific day that she was taken from us,” Allyson said through tears. “But because of Him, we can continue living knowing that we will see Laken again.”
“There is no amount of change that will ever bring back our precious Laken,” she added while trying to hold back tears. “Our hope, moving forward, is that her life saves lives.”
“We are so thankful that her passion for helping others and her legacy for doing good in the name of Jesus Christ will carry on,” Phillips continued. “Thank you.”
The immigration legislation was passed through both the GOP-led House and Senate with bipartisan support. It is the first <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/5">bill</a> that Trump has signed into law during his nascent second term in the White House. Under the law, federal officials are directed to detain non-citizens charged with, convicted of, or who admit to theft-related or violent offenses. It also authorizes states to sue over federal immigration actions.
During the signing, Trump promised the family that “we will keep Laken’s memory alive in our hearts forever.”
“Everyone’s hearts,” he added. “With today’s action, her name will also live forever in the laws of our country. And this is a very important law. This is something that has brought Democrats and Republicans together — that’s not easy to do. Laken did it. Laken did it. America will never, ever forget Laken Hope Riley.”
