What is being called a “silent genocide” in Africa has reportedly included ISIS-aligned forces beheading Christians in Mozambique.
“The Islamic State &#8211; Mozambique Province (ISMP) recently released 20 photos boasting of four attacks on &#8216;Christian villages&#8217; in the Chiure district, in <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/category/world/world-regions/africa">Mozambique&#8217;s northern</a> Cabo Delgado province, according to MEMRI,” Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/isis-soldiers-behead-christians-mozambique-burning-church-homes-silent-genocide">reported</a>. “The images also allegedly depict the beheadings of a member of what the jihadists consider ‘infidel militias’ and two Christian civilians. Rampaging jihadist groups celebrated the killings.”
Islamic State Mozambique Province fighters allegedly captured and beheaded six Christians in the village of Natocua in the Ancuabe district of Mozambique&#8217;s Cabo Delgado Province on July 22, according to MEMRI.
The U.S. State Department designated ISMP as a foreign terrorist organization in 2021.
“What we see in Africa today is a kind of silent genocide or silent, brutal, savage war that is occurring in the shadows and all too often ignored by the international community,” MEMRI Vice President Alberto Miguel Fernandez stated to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/isis-soldiers-behead-christians-mozambique-burning-church-homes-silent-genocide">Fox News Digital</a>. “The fact that jihadist groups are in a position to take over not one, not two, but several countries in Africa – take over the whole country or most of several countries – is dangerous. It&#8217;s very dangerous for the national security of the United States, let alone the security of the poor people who are there – Christians or Muslims or whoever they are.”
“The goal is eliminating Christian communities,” he continued. “Yes. Completely. Basically with these jihadist groups, they push down from safe havens that they have; they want to eliminate all the Christians in that area, take that over and keep pushing, keep pushing as far as they can go. Non-Christians, say, the Muslim population &#8230; are given a choice: either join us or you too will face killing and annihilation. Christians, of course, are not going to be asked to join; Christians are going to be targeted and destroyed.”
Fernandez has previously served as director of the Office of Press and Public Diplomacy in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the State Department, as well as Coordinator for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications (CSCC) at the State Department.
The United Nations reported that there was mass displacement of citizens occurring, but did not specify who was responsible, <a href="https://news.un.org/en/story/2025/08/1165560">stating</a>, “According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (<a href="https://www.unocha.org/" data-extlink="">OCHA</a>), attacks by armed groups between 20 and 28 July triggered the displacement of at least 46,667 people across the districts of Chiúre, Ancuabe and Muidumbe. Chiúre was the hardest hit, with more than 42,000 people uprooted – over half of them children.”
“I&#8217;m no fan of the United Nations in general, but I think what they&#8217;re doing is kind of the lowest common denominator,&#8221; Fernandez said. “It&#8217;s kind of easy to be vague like that. The fact that some of this and some of the worst of it is happening because of a deep anti-Christian animus, hatred of Christians, religiously-based hatred of Christians is something that the UN usually doesn&#8217;t like to talk about.”
Passionist missionary Father Kwiriwi Fonseca in Mozambique sent a <a href="https://www.churchinneed.org/christians-are-suffering-greatly-in-mozambique-says-passionist-priest/">message</a> saying, “All the newly displaced mentioned having fled because of direct attacks on their villages, involving looting, arson, kidnappings, and selective murders &#8230; many Christians are suffering. Some chapels have also been burned, as have their houses. The social projects no longer work, and the people are in despair.”

Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. bluntly called genocide charges against Israel a “blood libel” and extolled an <a href="https://x.com/SpencerGuard/status/1948010761957052628">essay</a> by a noted war expert that comprehensively refuted the accusation.
Kennedy, like his father before him, has always been a staunch supporter of Israel; his father Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who had served as John F. Kennedy’s Attorney General before his stint in the Senate and his 1968 campaign for president, in which he was battling Vice-President Hubert Humphrey in the primaries before Palestinian Sirhan Sirhan murdered him.
“The genocide charge is a blood libel. Thank you Major Spencer for this withering deconstruction,” Kennedy wrote.

The term “blood libel” vis-à-vis the Jewish people has <a href="https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/blood-libel">historically referred</a> to the false accusation that Jews murdered non-Jews in order to use their blood in the performance of religious ritual, a particularly ridiculous assertion since Jews are religiously forbidden to eat anything that has blood in it, even as small as a speck of blood in an egg. The charge has been used to foster numerous pogroms in Europe over the centuries, in which Jews were murdered en masse by the hundreds and thousands.
The essay Kennedy championed, by noted war expert John Spencer, who serves as chair of urban warfare studies at the Modern War Institute and host of the Urban Warfare Project Podcast, is titled “I’m a War Scholar. There Is No Genocide in Gaza.” Spencer was responding to a New York Times op-ed by <a href="https://www.jns.org/the-new-york-times-genocide-scholar-is-no-neutral-observer/">leftist Brown University professor Omer Bartov</a> that accused Israel of genocide.
 “Genocide is not defined by a few comments taken out of context, by estimates of casualties or destruction, or by how war looks in headlines or on social media. It is defined by specific intent to destroy a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group in whole or in part,” Spencer noted.
“That is a high legal bar. Bartov did not meet it. He did not even try,” Spencer wrote.  “Since October 7, I have been to Gaza four times embedded with the Israel Defense Forces. I have interviewed the Prime Minister of Israel, the Defense Minister, the IDF Chief of Staff, Southern Command leadership, and dozens of commanders and soldiers on the front lines. I have reviewed their orders, watched their targeting process, and seen soldiers take real risks to avoid harming civilians. Nothing I have seen or studied resembles genocide or genocidal intent.”
Spencer ripped Bartov for claiming Prime Minister Netanyahu’s comment on October 7 that Hamas would “pay a huge price” was a call for genocide, noting, “It is what any leader would say after the worst terrorist attack in the nation’s history.”
“He also cites Netanyahu’s statements that Hamas would be destroyed and that civilians should evacuate combat zones,” he continued, “That is not evidence of a desire to destroy a people. It is what professional militaries do when fighting an enemy that hides among civilians.”
“Bartov presents Netanyahu’s reference to ‘remember Amalek’ as a smoking gun,” he stated. “But this is a phrase from Jewish history and tradition. It is engraved at Israel’s Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem, and also appears on the Holocaust memorial in The Hague. In both places, it serves as a warning to remain vigilant against threats, not as a call for mass killing.”
“I have studied the actual orders. They focus on destroying Hamas, rescuing hostages, and protecting civilians whenever possible,” he recalled, continuing:

Israel has taken extraordinary steps to limit civilian harm. It warns before attacks using text messages, phone calls, leaflets, and broadcasts. It opens safe corridors and pauses operations so civilians can leave combat areas. It tracks civilian presence down to the building level. I have seen missions delayed or canceled because children were nearby. I have seen Israeli troops come under fire and still be ordered not to shoot back because civilians might be harmed. 
Israel has delivered more humanitarian aid to Gaza than any military in history has provided to an enemy population during wartime. More than 94,000 trucks carrying over 1.8 million tons of aid have entered the territory. Israel has supported hospitals, repaired water pipelines, increased access to clean water, and enabled over 36,000 patients to leave Gaza for treatment abroad. The IDF has coordinated millions of vaccine doses, supplied fuel for hospitals and infrastructure, and facilitated the flow of food and medicine through the UN, aid groups, and private partners.

He derided Bartov’s claim that 58,000 people have been killed in Gaza, including 17,000 children. “But these numbers come from a terrorist organization,” Spencer pointed out. “They mix civilians and fighters and count anyone under 18 as a child, even though Hamas uses teenagers and younger children as combatants. The figures are not independently verified and have been shown to contain false details, including names, ages, and sex.”
“Civilian deaths are tragic, but in Gaza, they are also part of Hamas’s strategy,” he wrote. “No military operation is judged solely by body counts or destruction figures. If we used Bartov’s logic, every major war would be called genocide. Two million civilians died in the Korean War, an average of 54,000 per month. The Iraq and Afghanistan wars killed hundreds of thousands. The fight against ISIS leveled multiple cities and killed tens of thousands. None of those wars were considered genocidal.”
“War is hell,” he declared. “It is inhumane, destructive, and ugly. But it is not automatically a crime. Nations must not target civilians. They must follow the rules of distinction, proportionality, and take all possible care to avoid civilian harm. Israel is doing that. I have seen it.”
“I have seen restraint, humanitarian aid, and deliberate compliance with legal standards, often at tactical cost,” he wrote. “This is not a campaign of extermination. It is a war against Hamas, a terrorist army embedded in civilian areas by design. The law matters. So does precision. And above all, truth matters.”

The former President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), who, serving as a judge, gave the preliminary ruling in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel, took issue with the media claiming the International Criminal Court (ICC) had accused Israel of genocide, saying, “I’m correcting what’s often said in the media.” The ICJ is the principal judicial entity of the United Nations.
Judge Joan Donoghue appeared on the BBC’s “HARDtalk” with host Stephen Sackur.
“Would it be fair to say, and I’m no lawyer, and many people watching and listening will not be lawyers, but would it be fair to say that the key point that you made your initial order and ruling upon, was whether or not there was a plausible case that should be taken on by the court of genocide in the case of Israel’s actions in Gaza after October 7, and you quite clearly decided that there was a plausible case?” Sackur asked. “Is it right to say that’s at heart what you decided?”
Contending directly with Sackur’s supposition, Donoghue replied, “You know, I’m glad I have a chance to address that because the court’s test for deciding whether to impose measures uses the idea of plausibility, but the test is the plausibility of the rights that are asserted by the applicant, in this case, South Africa. So the Court decided that the Palestinians have the plausible right to be protected from genocide and that South Africa had the right to present that claim in the Court.”
“It then looked at the facts as well, but it did not decide — and this is something where I’m correcting what’s often said in the media — it didn’t decide that the claim of genocide was plausible,” she continued. “It did emphasize in the order that there was a risk of irreparable harm to the Palestinian right to be protected from genocide, but the shorthand that often appears — which is there’s a plausible case of genocide —  isn’t what the court decided.”

Left-wing groups such as <a href="https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2024/12/amnesty-international-concludes-israel-is-committing-genocide-against-palestinians-in-gaza/">Amnesty International</a> and <a href="https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/12/19/israels-crime-extermination-acts-genocide-gaza">Human Rights Watch</a>, among others, have launched the claim that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza.
“International law is clear on the need for ‘specific intent’ to accompany any acts falling within the actus reus of the crime of genocide, that is the intent to destroy in whole or in part one of the protected groups, as such,” the European Journal of International Law, arguing against the claim of genocide by Israel, <a href="https://www.ejiltalk.org/rebutting-allegations-of-genocide-against-israel/">stated</a>. “Simply intending to kill or to otherwise harm individual members of that group would not be sufficient to reach this very high threshold of intent.”
The Journal continued:

Asked why his country would not arrest blacks who chant “Kill the Boer! Kill the farmer!” South African President Cyril Ramaphosa answered that his country did not need to “be instructed by anyone” to take that step, asserting that the country’s constitution protected freedom of expression.
Last week, President Donald Trump confronted Ramaphosa at the White House about the threat to whites in his country.  When Ramaphosa claimed blacks in South Africa were also killed by criminals in the country, Trump responded, “The farmers are not black. And the people that are being killed in large numbers, and you saw all those grave sites, and those are people that loved ones are going &#8230; on a Sunday morning, they told me to pay their respects to their loved ones that were killed &#8230; their heads chopped off. They died violently.”
In late March, Julius Malema, the founder and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, a communist political party, led a rally at which the crowd chanted “Kill the Boer! Kill the farmer!” Malema has also led chants to “cut the throat of whiteness.”
“In 2023, a little under 300 white-owned farms were attacked across South Africa, with 49 people killed in those attacks, according to <a href="https://www.artikels.afriforum.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Farm-attacks-and-murders-in-South-Africa-2023.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">figures from AfriForum,</a>” NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/south-africa-racist-white-farmers-trump-musk-genocide-ramaphosa-rcna190749" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a>.
In 2010, a South African court <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-14878102" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled</a> that the song “Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer,” which Malema was using, did constitute hate speech. But in 2022, Judge Edwin Molahlehi <a href="https://groundup.org.za/article/judge-rules-kill-boer---kill-farmer-not-hate-speech/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reversed</a> the ruling, saying, “It does not constitute hate speech and deserves to be protected under the rubric of freedom of speech &#8211; it articulates the failure of the current government to address issues of economic empowerment and land division.”
On Saturday, Malema defiantly <a href="https://www.channelstv.com/2025/05/25/south-africas-malema-vows-to-keep-chanting-controversial-song/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, “The struggle heroes composed this song. All I am doing is to defend the legacy of our struggle. Therefore I will never stop singing” the song. &#8220;That will be a betrayal to the struggle of our people.&#8221;
“When it comes to the issues of arresting anyone &#8230; it’s a sovereign issue,” Ramaphosa stated. “It’s not a matter where we need to be instructed by anyone that ‘Go and arrest this one.’ We are a very proud, sovereign country that has its own laws, that has its own processes, and we take into account what the constitutional court also decided when it said that that slogan, ‘Kill the Boer. Kill the farmer,’ is a liberation chant and slogan. And it’s not meant to be a message that elicits or calls upon anyone to go and be killed. That is what our court decided. So they will probably want to arrest people willy-nilly, [but] we follow the dictates of our constitution because we are a constitutional state and we are a country where freedom of expression is in the bedrock of our constitutional arrangement.&#8221;

Ever since the death of Nelson Mandela, it&#8217;s fair to call Cyril Ramaphosa one of the few surviving &#8220;founding fathers&#8221; of post-apartheid South Africa. He helped write the country&#8217;s new constitution, which would supposedly usher in a new era of prosperity and equality. He also oversaw the transition to the new government. And as South Africa descended into lawlessness and squalor over the ensuing 30 years, Ramaphosa gradually accumulated more wealth and power, until he finally became the country&#8217;s president in 2018. He&#8217;s currently worth something like half a billion dollars, even as the vast majority of South Africa&#8217;s residents now live in extreme poverty.
What this means is that Ramaphosa is the personification of South Africa&#8217;s post-colonial experiment. When he drafted that new constitution, he presumably did not foresee that, by 2025, the country would have the single highest unemployment rate of any country in the world, at 40%. He certainly didn&#8217;t tell anyone that he eventually planned to sign new laws that would disenfranchise and rob white farmers, or that white people would be systematically slaughtered in their homes. But all of that has happened. And yet, for all this time, no one &#8212; and certainly no world leader &#8212; has held this deranged despot accountable for any of that. Instead, it&#8217;s been something of a tradition in Washington to pretend South Africa is somehow a &#8220;great ally&#8221; to the United States, and to treat Ramaphosa as royalty, as Joe Biden did a few years ago.
That tradition came to a very abrupt end yesterday in the Oval Office, when Donald Trump did something no other political figure has ever done. He told Ramaphosa, to his face in the most public forum imaginable, that he&#8217;s a fraud who&#8217;s overseeing a white genocide. And in the process, Trump took a blowtorch to a mythology that pretty much every politician, from both parties, has been desperate to uphold for several decades.
In order to understand the importance of *what* Donald Trump communicated here, you have to first see exactly how he communicated it. First, of course, Ramaphosa asked the United States for money, because he&#8217;s run his country into the ground and they can&#8217;t even feed themselves anymore. Then a reporter asked a patronizing question about &#8220;what it would take&#8221; for Trump to stop repeating supposedly false claims about white genocide in South Africa. In other words, the reporter is basically calling Trump a liar to his face, and asking him what it would take for him to stop lying. Here&#8217;s how it went:

So after begging for cash, Ramaphosa essentially validates what the reporter is saying. He says Donald Trump needs to &#8220;listen&#8221; to the people of South Africa, in order to stop lying about the alleged genocide of white people. It&#8217;s probably the most obnoxious answer that he could&#8217;ve come up with, especially after dozens of white South Africans just fled the country in fear of their lives.

But Trump was prepared for it. First of all, Trump asked one of the white golfers that Ramaphosa brought with him &#8212; a two-time U.S. Open winner named Retief Goosen &#8212; what the situation was like in South Africa. And the golfer responded that his father&#8217;s friends, who own farms, have been murdered, and the farms are constantly being torched. Watch:

Again, this is one of the golfers that the president of South Africa brought to the Oval Office, as part of South Africa&#8217;s delegation, hoping he&#8217;d neutralize the supposedly &#8220;fake narrative&#8221; about white genocide. This is one of the people that the president of South Africa demanded, obnoxiously, that Trump &#8220;listen to.&#8221; It didn&#8217;t exactly go as planned &#8212; which probably tells you something about the level of &#8220;planning&#8221; that South Africa&#8217;s government is capable of.
And things only got worse from there, as Trump dimmed the lights in the Oval Office and played a tape of South African politicians openly calling for the murders of white farmers. In other words, Trump once again called Ramaphosa&#8217;s bluff. He &#8220;listened&#8221; to the calls for genocide coming from South Africans &#8212; and he made Ramaphosa, and the rest of the world, listen to it as well. And as you watch this, notice the expression on Ramaphosa&#8217;s face, as he genuinely cannot believe what is happening. Watch:

If you&#8217;ve listened to this show, or been active on social media over the past year or so, then you&#8217;ve seen or heard most of these clips before. And you&#8217;ve heard stories like the ones that Trump just cited. That&#8217;s because in South Africa, black politicians have openly called for genocide for many years now. White farmers have been tortured in their homes for decades, in attacks that are clearly racially motivated. And instead of stopping the carnage, the government has just passed a law allowing the government to seize land from white people without compensating them. All of this has been known for a while now.
But in their coverage of this Oval Office meeting, the corporate press pretended to be surprised by this footage from South Africa. So before we go back to the Oval Office incident yesterday, let&#8217;s take a brief look at that coverage. Here&#8217;s ABC, for example. Watch as they deliberately give the impression that they had never seen anything like this footage before:

&#8220;We do not know the source of the videos.&#8221; That&#8217;s pretty extraordinary. There are only two explanations for how that reporter could make a statement like that. Either she&#8217;s monumentally lazy, and she&#8217;s confessing that no one at ABC News is capable of verifying the authenticity of footage that&#8217;s been available on the Internet for years. Or, she&#8217;s deliberately lying to ABC&#8217;s viewers, and trying to get them to believe that the footage might be fake. Those are the options. If anyone at ABC News was actually interested in the truth about what&#8217;s happening in South Africa, they&#8217;d tell their audience that, yes, the footage is real, and that the genocide of white people is something they&#8217;re openly encouraging over there.
For his part, after Trump played the footage in the Oval Office, Cyril Ramaphosa offered this response. As you listen to this, see if you can spot the very familiar sleight of hand he uses. Watch:

First of all, he&#8217;s right that some of the clips show politicians from minority parties in South Africa. That&#8217;s true. But it&#8217;s also not very reassuring, for two reasons. First of all, these minority parties are filling stadiums with tens of thousands of people, chanting about murdering white farmers. So we&#8217;re not talking about one fringe politician here. This is a very common sentiment in South Africa. And secondly, as Trump pointed out, the government of South Africa has just signed legislation that calls for white people to lose their homes and their farms, without any form of compensation whatsoever. That&#8217;s a pretty good indication that, indeed, the government is aiding and abetting the ongoing genocide.
Ramaphosa had no answer to that. Instead, he simply pointed out that, in South Africa, the majority of people who die are black. This is one of those lines that only works if you&#8217;re a race-obsessed, illiterate moron who doesn&#8217;t understand the concept of &#8220;per capita,&#8221; which of course describes most South African leaders. So maybe the talking point works there. But it doesn&#8217;t work when you&#8217;re dealing with intelligent people, because intelligent people recognize the significance of the fact that over 80% of the population of South Africa is black. So obviously, most of the people who are killed in South Africa are going to be black. No one is disputing that.
The relevant question is whether white people (particularly white farmers) are being targeted because of their skin color, and whether they&#8217;re dying at a rate that&#8217;s higher than black people, given that they only make up something like six percent of the population. And of course, no one in South Africa&#8217;s government wants to address those questions, because they know the truth: white farmers are being killed at dramatically higher rates than you&#8217;ll see in literal warzones, or places like Afghanistan. By some estimates, the murder rate for white farmers is something like 150 per 100,000 people. That&#8217;s why white people in South Africa are currently leaving everything behind &#8212; their farms, their homes, everything &#8212; in order to fly to the United States and stay in Holiday Inns off the interstate in Idaho. They&#8217;re not doing it for fun. They&#8217;re doing it because their lives are endangered in South Africa.
But even after Trump explained all of this in the Oval Office &#8212; even after Trump played the evidence of white genocide for the press, and for the president of South Africa &#8212; the corporate press is continuing to lie, universally, about what&#8217;s happening in South Africa. They&#8217;re simply denying that white people are being targeted. We&#8217;ll put a selection of the headlines on the screen now:

I won&#8217;t read all of these, but every single one of them accuses Trump of &#8220;falsely&#8221; spreading claims of white genocide in South Africa. They say Trump &#8220;abused&#8221; the South African president with lies, even though he literally played ten minutes of video for him, and listened to first-hand testimony from the country. Pretty much every media outlet did the same thing. This is one compilation that Chaia Raichick assembled. Watch:

This was shameless and coordinated to a pretty amazing degree, even by these people&#8217;s standards. But there was one outlet that told the truth, seemingly by accident. Here was a <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Grg3ImuXUAAVYNH?format=jpg&amp;name=small" target="_blank" rel="noopener">photo</a> that the AP posted, buried in an image gallery inside their article about how South Africa is supposedly safe for white people.
Here&#8217;s the caption: &#8220;A view of crosses planted at the White Cross Monument, each one marking a white farmer who has been killed in a farm murder, is seen on a hillside [in South Africa.]&#8221;
That&#8217;s the reality of what&#8217;s happening. And occasionally it gets out. But you won&#8217;t find similar reporting at the New York Times. Here&#8217;s how they <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/21/us/politics/ernie-els-retief-goosen-south-africa-trump.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussed</a> what the white golfers said in the Oval Office: &#8220;Two of South Africa’s most famous golfers were drawn into a tense Oval Office discussion about race in their country on Wednesday, after President Trump ambushed his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, with videos intended to support his false claim of mass killings of Afrikaners. .. Mr. Goosen &#8230; shared that his relatives on farms lived behind electric fences in fear of crime, like many other South Africans. &#8216;But the guys live a great life, despite what’s going on,&#8217; he said.&#8221;
Yes, that&#8217;s what the New York Times took from the golfer&#8217;s statement. They left out the fact that the farmer&#8217;s friends are dead, that the farms are being torched, and that his elderly 80-year-old mother was attacked in their home. And the reason they left those details out is that, ordinarily, most criminals don&#8217;t set fire to farms or beat old women for no reason whatsoever. But they will do those things if they&#8217;re motivated by racial resentment, which is clearly the case in South Africa.
Over at CNN, meanwhile, they tried to convince their 15 viewers that the song about killing white farmers, which is often repeated at political rallies in South Africa, really isn&#8217;t meant to be taken literally. Watch:

They&#8217;re simply incapable of bringing themselves to say that, yes, it&#8217;s bad to call for the mass executions of white farmers. They can&#8217;t acknowledge that post-colonial South Africa is a failure, for the same reason they can&#8217;t acknowledge that Rhodesia was a functioning, thriving state &#8212; the &#8220;breadbasket of Africa,&#8221; they called it &#8212; while Zimbabwe (the new name for Rhodesia) is a hellhole that needs to import food in order to avert famine. One after another, these post-colonial African states are demonstrating that colonialism wasn&#8217;t so bad after all. In fact, it was a lot better than the alternative.
It&#8217;s obvious why they can&#8217;t admit any of this. Every single Left-wing agenda item &#8212; from the modern civil rights movement to DEI &#8212; is predicated on the idea that past &#8220;oppression,&#8221; as they define it, justifies hand-outs and preferential treatment today. But that logic falls apart when you realize that, any effort to supposedly balance things out and make up for the alleged sins of the past, only means the murder rate would be ten times higher than it was in Afghanistan at the height of the U.S. occupation, everyone would be poor, and elderly women would regularly be tortured and beaten to death in their own homes. That&#8217;s the reality. It&#8217;s gone unsaid for generations, and people in South Africa &#8212; of all races &#8212; have suffered because of it. So have people in this country.
It is a lie that, yesterday in the Oval Office, Donald Trump confronted and debunked in the most direct way that he possibly could. And in doing so, Trump didn&#8217;t just demolish one of the central mythologies of the Left &#8212; one that, until now, has sustained the vast majority of their depraved social experiments. Trump also signaled that, in this administration, doublespeak and innuendo are not going to be the default mode of communication, with foreign leaders or anyone else. Instead, we&#8217;ll be direct. We won&#8217;t cower from the truth, or sugarcoat it with euphemism.
Every single aspect of society would be improved if we all adopted that level of discourse. We need a lot more of this if we&#8217;re going to reverse the damage that South Africa&#8217;s leaders have done &#8212; and more importantly, if we&#8217;re going to prevent that ideology from spreading here. That&#8217;s been the main goal of true conservatives in this country for many years now. And yesterday in the Oval Office, for the first time since the 1960s, Donald Trump gave us reason to think we&#8217;re going to succeed in that effort.

President Donald Trump defended Afrikaner farmers during an Oval Office meeting today with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, playing a video of alleged incitements to violence after Ramaphosa rejected claims of a white genocide.
The video included a clip of Julius Malema, a member of South Africa’s National Assembly, singing “Kill the Boer” at a political rally, a reference to Afrikaners.
While the video played, Ramaphosa looked away from the screen, visibly uncomfortable, while Trump looked straight on.

The video also included footage of what Trump claimed was the gravesite of 1,000 Afrikaner farmers.
Ramaphosa said he had never seen the site but “would like to know where that is.”
Trump also held up articles that he said showed proof of the genocide against Afrikaners.

Ramaphosa responded to Trump, raising concerns about the “Kill the Boer” chant, claiming that it was said by a minority party and was not representative of the government.
“When they take the land, they kill the white farmer, and when they kill the white farmer, nothing happens to them,” Trump said.

Ramaphosa responded, claiming that black people are also killed by criminals in the country.
“The farmers are not black,” Trump said. “The people that are being killed in large numbers, and you saw those grave sites and those are people that loved ones are going on a Sunday morning they told me to pay their respects to their loved ones that were killed. Their heads chopped off. They died violently.”
Ramaphosa, being diplomatic, asked to discuss the “criminality” issues in South Africa outside of the media and encouraged American partnership in addressing them.

The meeting comes amid controversy over the Trump administration welcoming Afrikaner refugees to the United States, alleging they are the victims of a race-based genocide. 
Tensions between the two countries have increased following the passage of South Africa’s Expropriation Act, which allows the South African government to confiscate land without compensation.

Trump issued an executive order in February saying the act ignored citizens’ rights and enabled the government to “seize ethnic minority Afrikaners’ agricultural property without compensation.” The directive cut aid or assistance to South Africa and declared that the United States would promote resettling Afrikaner refugees.
Ramaphosa denied that Afrikaner land is being taken away during the meeting. He pointed to his South African Agriculture Minister, John Steenhuisen, who is white, and claimed that the majority of white farmers want to stay. 
Steenhuisen said he joined Ramaphosa’s coalition government as an opposition party to keep the anti-white politicians out of power in South Africa.
“Why wouldn’t you arrest that man?” Trump asked, pointing out that Malema was inciting violence by calling for white people to be killed.

The Trump administration accepted 59 farmers who arrived in the United States on a chartered flight earlier this month through an expedited program. Democrats <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rubio-says-dem-senator-only-opposes-afrikaner-refugees-because-of-their-race">have denied</a> that Afrikaners are being persecuted for their race and have criticized the Trump administration for resettling the refugees in the United States.
Trump pushed back on those criticisms last week, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-rips-critics-of-south-african-refugee-policy-its-a-terrible-thing-thats-taking-place?author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Rips+Critics+Of+South+African+Refugee+Policy%3A+%E2%80%98It%E2%80%99s+A+Terrible+Thing+That%E2%80%99s+Taking+Place%E2%80%99">saying</a> the refugees “happen to be white, but whether they’re white or black makes no difference to me.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio doubled down on the Trump administration’s belief that Afrikaners are being persecuted during a Senate hearing on Wednesday.
“These are people whose farms were burned down and they were killed because of the color of their skin,” Rubio said in a heated exchange with Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA).
Rubio added that the farmers qualify for refugee status because they “live in a country where farms are taken and land is taken on a racial basis.”

Thursday is Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, commemorating the reputed one and a half million Armenians murdered by the Turks in 1915 during World War I.
The Turkish assault began with hundreds of Armenian intellectuals forcibly deported from the Turkish capital of Constantinople. The Muslim Young Turks intended to get rid of the Christian Armenians in Turkey. Massive atrocities, from forced death marches to placing women and children aboard ships and then deliberately sinking them, were carried out by Turkish government-backed forces.

In April 1981, soon after he was elected president, Ronald Reagan delivered a Proclamation on Days of Remembrance of Victims of the Holocaust. Speaking of the Holocaust in which the Nazis murdered six million Jews, he <a href="https://www.reaganlibrary.gov/archives/speech/proclamations-april-22-1981" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a>:

A courageous woman from Kenya who serves as the United Nations’ Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide was fired after she stood up to the Israel-haters in the U.N. and refused to declare that Israel has committed “genocide” in its war against Hamas, according to The Wall Street Journal.
“Alice Nderitu said Israel’s campaign in Gaza doesn’t meet the definition of genocide. She was fired,” The Wall Street Journal editorial board <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/the-u-ns-anti-israel-genocide-purge-c8feef1a" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on Monday. “On Wednesday the U.N. will refuse to renew the contract of Alice Wairimu Nderitu, the Kenyan who is the Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide.”

Nderitu’s office released a guidance paper in 2022 on “when to refer to a situation as ‘genocide.’” She warned that U.N. officials should “adhere to the correct usage” when referring to genocide, noting “its frequent misuse in referring to large scale, grave crimes committed against particular populations.” She pointed out that the term was originally conceived by Polish lawyer Raphael Lemkin in 1944 and meant eliminating entire ethnic groups.

“As a legal matter, establishing a pattern of violence as a genocide requires demonstrating intent,” the WSJ editorial explained, adding, “Israel’s campaign of self-defense doesn’t qualify. The war against Hamas has had many deaths, but Israel’s strategy is intended to dismantle a terrorist regime, not eliminate an ethnic group. The Jewish state has gone to great lengths to minimize Palestinian civilian casualties, even as Hamas uses civilians as shields so their deaths can be used as propaganda.”
But the anti-Israel contingents at the U.N. are determined to smear Israel with the charge of genocide. Thus the U.N. Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices issued a report earlier this month accusing Israel of “the possibility of genocide in Gaza and an apartheid system in the West Bank.”
“The committee is taking its cues from Austrian Volker Turk, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, who has spent the past year assailing Israel,” the WSJ editorial board noted. “His claims are often echoed by U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Israel’s critics. &#8230; Ms. Nderitu serves at the pleasure of Mr. Gutterres, and Mr. Turk and the anti-Israel faction want her out. “
The Journal received a statement from a U.N. spokesman saying, “Alice Nderitu is leaving the U.N. as her contract is expiring.”

An anti-Israel TikToker who filmed herself in a viral video ripping down flags outside a New Jersey Greek restaurant in the mistaken belief that they were Israeli flags was charged with bias and intimidation.
On March 11, Amber Matthews, 23, who names herself “Ambamelia” on TikTok, ripped down the flags at Efi’s Gyro in Montclair, New Jersey. She posted the video of the incident on October 15. The restaurant’s owner, Efi Mihalis reported the incident in March which led to an investigation.
“Authorities reviewed security footage and found the suspect was in the establishment a week prior handing out fliers in support of Palestine, but had no leads until Matthews posted her now-viral video of the encounter last week,” The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/10/24/us-news/tiktoker-arrested-after-wrecking-greek-flags-at-nj-restaurant-thinking-they-were-israeli/">reported</a>.
In the video, Matthews snaps, “Look at that s***. &#8230; Free Palestine, b***h &#8230; I don’t stand for this. I don’t stand for genocide. I don’t stand for genocide. I don’t support it. There’s a genocide, you know that, right? They are killing children, You’re proud of your heritage? Y’all understand there’s a genocide, right? There’s nothing against people who are Jewish, but this is not okay.”
Mihalis came outside to inform her that it was a Greek restaurant.
“Oh, I thought it was Israel. My bad. Really?” Matthews responded. “Oh, s***.”

The scurrilous claim of Israel committing “genocide” in Gaza flies in the face of several salient facts: Hamas hides their terrorists among civilians, and Israel has complete air superiority over Gaza. If Israel wished, it could be completely indiscriminate about saving members of the population, a notion that is inconceivable considering Israel’s efforts to evacuate areas before bombing and its attempts to bring aid to the population, which is routinely stolen by Hamas.

They deployed drones with speakers and dropped giant speakers by parachute that began broadcasting for civilians to leave combat areas once they hit the ground. They announced and conducted <a href="https://govextra.gov.il/media/jtwnzt45/tactical-pause-14-3.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">daily pauses</a> of all operations to allow any civilians left in combat areas to evacuate. &#8230;
The current Hamas-supplied estimate of over <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/hamas-says-gaza-death-toll-at-least-31341/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">31,000</a> does not acknowledge a single combatant death (nor any deaths due to the <a href="https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2023/10/19/hamas-unwittingly-admits-gaza-rockets-are-prone-to-misfire/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">misfiring of its own rockets</a> or other friendly fire). The IDF estimates it has killed about <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/hamas-says-gaza-death-toll-at-least-31341/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">13,000 Hamas operatives, </a>a number I believe credible partly because I believe the armed forces of a democratic American ally over a terrorist regime, but also because of the size of Hamas fighters assigned to areas that were cleared and having observed the weapons used, the state of Hamas&#8217; tunnels and other aspects of the combat. That would mean some 18,000 civilians have died in Gaza, a ratio of roughly 1 combatant to 1.5 civilians. Given <a href="https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/how-gaza-health-ministry-fakes-casualty-numbers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hamas&#8217; likely inflation</a> of the death count, the real figure could be closer to 1 to 1. Either way, the number would be historically low for modern urban warfare.

In the face of growing pushback from Biden over the campaign, as well as a <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/03/25/1240669997/united-nations-security-council-cease-fire-resolution-gaza-israel-war" target="_blank" rel="noopener">demand</a> by the United Nations for a ceasefire, Netanyahu said on Sunday there would be <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/world/israel-withdraws-all-ground-troops-southern-gaza-leaving-one-idf-brigade-enclave" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no ceasefire</a> until all the remaining <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/idf-pulls-ground-troops-from-southern-gaza-stresses-war-is-not-over-until-hostages-are-free" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hostages are free</a>.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) claimed on Sunday that Israel was intentionally committing a &#8220;genocide&#8221; inside Gaza and that the Hamas terrorist organization could not end the war by releasing the hostages and surrendering to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
AOC&#8217;s comments on CNN&#8217;s &#8220;State of the Union&#8221; on Sunday come despite efforts by Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, which is inspected to ensure that weapons are not being smuggled in to Hamas.
&#8220;This word is extremely serious. It&#8217;s one that&#8217;s taken with extraordinary gravity. And, to me, the threshold of intent is a high one, it is a serious one and is not one that is made lightly,&#8221; she said.
She later suggested that Israel was not targeting Hamas: &#8220;But what we are seeing here, I think, with a forced famine, is beyond our ability to deny or explain away. There is no targeting of Hamas in precipitating a mass famine of a million people, half of whom are children.&#8221;
When pressed by CNN host Jake Tapper about statements from Israeli officials that Hamas could end the tomorrow instantly by releasing the hostages and surrendering, AOC responded: &#8220;I do disagree, because, when we are talking about famine, the actions of Hamas should not be tied to whether a 3-year- old can eat.&#8221;

British author and commentator Douglas Murray blasted South Africa for accusing Israel of genocide in its war against Hamas, calling the claim “preposterous.”
This week, South Africa accused Israel of genocide at the United Nations’ top court, the International Court of Justice.
Murray appeared on Talk TV with host Julia Hartley-Brewer, who asked if claims of genocide against Israel had any foundation, Murray replied, “Absolutely not. As I’ve mentioned before to you, Julia, the population of Gaza has grown by almost a million in the last 16 years, so it’s a very strange type of genocide where the population actually increases.”
“You mention, of course, this preposterous action by this South African government,” he continued. “If you go to South Africa, as I have been, you’ll find that South Africa is one of the most beautiful and amazing countries in the world — and it’s one of the most hideously run. Major cities like Johannesburg have massive electricity blackouts. There’s horrible corruption by the government; they can’t provide the most basic things to the people. Terrible violence and much more, and horrible, horrible poverty in the townships.”
“Its government is profoundly anti-Semitic, has been anti-Israel for years,” Murray said of South Africa’s government. “And they always do this sort of thing to try to sort of distract attention among their own population from the failings of their own government.”
Murray pointed out that one of Great Britain’s leading anti-Israel advocates had joined with South Africa in its efforts: “It’s very telling, by the way, Julia, that one of the people that’s joined this initiative of the South Africans to try to take Israel to the Hague for a non-existent war crime, one of the people who’s joined that effort is Jeremy Corbyn.”
