A senior Hamas official who spoke to Reuters on Friday said that the terror group could not commit to disarming and defended the public executions in Gaza earlier this week.
Reuters sat down with senior Hamas member Mohammed Nazzal in Doha, Qatar, where senior Hamas leaders have long enjoyed safe haven. Nazzal said that the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terror-reigns-hamas-publicly-executes-gazans-after-israeli-troop-pullback">executions</a> that took place on Monday were part of &#8220;exceptional measures&#8221; taken during war. At least seven men were shot in the back of the head in front of a crowd in Gaza after Hamas accused them of conspiring with Israel. Nazzal said the executed men were &#8220;criminals guilty of killing.&#8221;
Nazzal added that Hamas would like to see a ceasefire last between three and five years, so that Gaza can be rebuilt, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/hamas-aims-keep-grip-gaza-security-cant-commit-disarm-senior-official-says-2025-10-17/">reported</a>. He added that after the rebuilding, Palestinians should be given &#8220;horizons and hope&#8221; for statehood.
Asked about Nazzal&#8217;s comments, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&#8217;s office told Reuters, &#8220;Hamas is supposed to release all hostages in stage 1. It has not. Hamas knows where the bodies of our hostages are. Hamas are to be disarmed under this agreement. No ifs, no buts. They have not. Hamas need to adhere to the 20-point plan. They are running out of time.&#8221;
The Hamas official&#8217;s comments come hours after President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-u-s-has-no-choice-but-to-go-in-and-kill-hamas-if-violence-in-gaza-doesnt-end">warned</a>, “If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them.&#8221; The president later clarified that he did not intend to use U.S. troops to take out the terrorists.
“I didn’t say who will go in, but somebody will go in. It’s not going to be us. We won’t have to,&#8221; he said. &#8220;There are people very close, very nearby that will go in. They’ll do the trick very easily, but under our auspices.”

The first phase of Trump&#8217;s deal between Israel and Hamas, which was agreed upon earlier this week, required Hamas to hand over the remaining living and deceased hostages, while Israel would release nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, including hundreds of terrorists. The remaining living hostages have been released, but Hamas has so far failed to locate and hand over the bodies of all 28 deceased hostages that were still being held by the terrorists.
It appears that Hamas has no desire to see the next phase of the peace plan come to fruition, which would require the terrorists to lay down their weapons and hand over control of Gaza.
Trump said earlier this week that he was confident Hamas would disarm, threatening that if the terror group did not agree to lay down its weapons voluntarily, it would be disarmed by force.
“They’re going to disarm because they said they were going to disarm,” Trump said. “And if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them.”
“They know I’m not playing games,” the president added.

I didn’t pay much attention to mayoral politics when I lived in New York City. It was the De Blasio years, and as much as I respect Nicole Malliotakis, I don’t think anyone was naive enough to believe she was going to stand between Hizzoner and a second term.
Plus, I lived deep in Crown Heights, so far into Brooklyn that it might as well have been a different city. I lived courtesy of the bodega below my apartment and the 4 train, two things that weren’t likely to change, no matter who was in charge.
To the extent that I cared about the 2017 mayoral race, I cared about the things that affected me. I wanted to hear the candidates talk about how they’d stop gang members from killing each other on my block, or put cops on the subways to stop the all-too-frequent domestic assaults I witnessed while commuting. I certainly didn’t want to hear them hurl insults at each other and sound off on geopolitics.
All of which is to say, had I been a New York City resident last night, I would have put my head through a wall.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mamdani-and-cuomo-square-off-on-gaza-free-housing-and-more-in-nyc-mayoral-debate">debate</a> — between socialist Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo — was bound to be a spectacle. New York City politics always are, to some degree. This current campaign has made Mamdani a national figure, something Cuomo has already been for quite some time.
Even still — and even for this lapsed New Yorker — last evening’s proceedings had frustratingly little to do with the city.
After a few perfunctory questions (What will the headlines be after your first year in office? What qualifies you to lead the city?), the debate quickly shifted to what really matters for municipal politics: What would the candidates say on their first official phone call with Donald Trump?

To be fair, this one was a little relevant. At least since Jerry Ford told Abe Beame to drop dead, there’s always been an expectation that the occupants of Gracie Mansion and the White House would deal with each other. And the Queens boy who currently occupies the Oval Office has inserted himself into the mayoral race, threatening to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-warns-mamdani-no-federal-cash-for-a-communist-mayor?author=Hank+Berrien&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Warns+Mamdani%3A+No+Federal+Cash+For+A+%E2%80%98Communist%E2%80%99+Mayor">withhold federal funding</a> from the city if it elects Mamdani.
The candidates’ answers were unremarkable. Mamdani said he’d yell about ICE, and Cuomo said he’d yell about COVID. Had the national politics portion of the evening ended there, it would have been fine.
But it didn’t. Instead, the candidates were then asked about the war in Gaza. Cuomo accused Mamdani of refusing to denounce Hamas and employing antisemitic dog whistles like “from the river to the sea” and “globalize the intifada.” Mamdani offered his thoughts on the situation, sounding more like an ambassador than an assemblyman.
“For [the ceasefire] to be just, we also have to ensure that it addresses the conditions that preceded this,” Mamdani said. “Conditions like occupation, like the siege, and apartheid.”
Who is this “we”? What role does the mayor of New York City have in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?
At the end of the debate, the candidates were asked about which parades they would attend if elected mayor. Mamdani, wearing the same smug smile he sported all evening, said that he would have more important things to think about than parades. If he thinks he should focus more on Gaza than on New York City parades, he may not be the right man for the job.
A legendary New Yorker had a decidedly different take: “I think a mayor has a responsibility whenever possible to march in parades.”
That New Yorker was Curtis Sliwa, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/he-aint-going-nowhere-why-curtis-sliwa-thinks-hell-be-the-next-mayor-of-new-york-city">founder of the Guardian Angels</a> and the Republican candidate for mayor.
There’s a reason I haven’t mentioned Sliwa until now. Though he was standing smack in the middle of the candidates during the entire debate, he was an afterthought from the very beginning. At one point, the broadcast even cut to a side-by-side of Cuomo and Mamdani, literally eliminating Sliwa from the picture.
Considering all the questions were about everything under the sun except New York City itself, Sliwa seemed a little bit like a lunatic during the debate. While Cuomo and Mamdani attacked each other as a nepo baby and a pervert, respectively, Sliwa hopped in to attack them for weakening the NYPD. While they talked about standing up to Trump, he talked about all the time he’s spent standing up for real New Yorkers on the subway and city buses. While they talked about Gaza, he rattled off the names of outer-borough neighborhoods with the maniacal fervor of a man desperate to remind people that this was supposed to be about New York City, for God’s sake.
Despite how crazy Sliwa may have seemed, he wasn’t crazy at all. It took the moderators <a href="https://x.com/BillHemmer/status/1978970021884756210" target="_blank" rel="noopener">43 minutes</a> to ask about something that actually affects New Yorkers — the NYPD — before they quickly returned to discussing Trump.
When the candidates did talk about city issues, it didn’t matter. Mamdani dodged questions about how he’d pay for free buses and free groceries and all the other free things he’s promised, relying on typical socialist smoke and mirrors to distract from the fact that New York Governor Kathy Hochul has made it clear she won’t raise taxes to pay for his policies.
Cuomo and Mamdani’s failings were on full display, but not in a way that mattered. Sure, Cuomo’s a sexual predator who killed a bunch of grandparents, and Mamdani’s a trust fund jihadist who lacks the experience to govern a condo board. But does any of that have any bearing on how they would run the city? You wouldn’t know from watching the debate.
That’s because the debate wasn’t for New Yorkers. It was for Washington, and for journalists. It was more for me than for whoever now lives in my old apartment in Brooklyn.
It was also for the candidates themselves. For Mamdani, it was an audition for the Democratic powers that be. For Cuomo, it was a chance to remind those same powers that he’s not down for the count just yet.
In other words, what should have been a political contest about local issues became one defined by national, even global ones. Instead of courting their would-be constituents, the candidates stoked their ambitions and inflated their egos. If you drive through Montpelier, you can probably hear James Madison rolling in his grave.
With the exception of those pinning their hope on Mamdani’s socialist revolution, New Yorkers probably aren’t fazed by this. But the rest of us should be. Unless and until they win seats in Congress, Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo should focus on their city and leave the country to those elected to run it. That’s better for New Yorkers and Americans alike. And it may even give them time to fix the subway.

Just days after the two-year anniversary of the October 7, 2023, massacre that sparked the Israel-Hamas war, the Trump administration’s ceasefire deal has brought all surviving Israeli hostages home from the Gaza Strip.
Per the deal, in exchange for the 20 Israeli hostages, Israel was required to release over 1,700 Gazans held in Israeli jails back into the Gaza Strip.
As Israel released the prisoners, “Free Palestine” activists rejoiced in a spectacularly dishonest way by posting a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@plestiio/video/7461915368739704097?q=palestinian%20hostages%20released&amp;t=1760578336542">video</a> on TikTok. The video, which has amassed a whopping 131,000 likes, claims Palestinian “hostages” were released in the deal.
The only issue: Israel was not holding any hostages.
By <a href="https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hostage">definition</a>, a hostage is “a person held by one party in a conflict as a pledge pending the fulfillment of an agreement; one that is involuntarily controlled by an outside influence.”
This is precisely what Hamas did on October 7. As their rifles unloaded into crowds of civilians, the terrorists made sure to abduct over 250 people, who committed no crime, as a means of leverage against Israel and to strong-arm the country into restricting their military response.

By contrast, the prisoners released by Israel in the deal were not innocent “hostages” as the Free Palestine movement wants you to think. They were primarily violent criminals with ties to terrorism.
Here are six examples.
<h3>Imad Qawasmeh</h3>
A senior Hamas <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1977732436826939410">Commander</a> from Hebron, Imad Qawasmeh, was captured in 2004 during a targeted operation by Israeli special forces. He personally directed the two suicide bombers responsible for the twin bus bombings in Beersheba on August 31, 2004.
The attack claimed the lives of 16 Israelis and left more than 100 others wounded.
An Israeli military tribunal found Qawasmeh guilty of murder, active participation in a terrorist organization, and illegal weapons trafficking. His crimes earned him a sentence of 16 consecutive life terms in prison.
<h3>Bakr Badr</h3>
A Hamas <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1977736448087412966">terrorist</a> from the town of Beit Liqya, Bakr Badr, was imprisoned for his involvement in a Hamas terror network active during the Second Intifada. This cell was responsible for a series of deadly attacks targeting Israeli civilians and soldiers.
Among the attacks were two major incidents: a 2003 suicide bombing near the Tzrifin army base that claimed the lives of nine Israelis, and a 2004 bombing at a Tel Aviv bus stop that killed one person and wounded several others. His capture marked the dismantling of part of the Hamas infrastructure operating in the area at the time.
<h3>Samir Ibrahim Mahmoud Abu Nima</h3>
An Islamic Jihad <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1977737833549816124">terrorist</a> from Abu Dis, Samir Ibrahim Mahmoud Abu Nima, was sentenced to life imprisonment for carrying out a 1983 bus bombing in Jerusalem.
The brutal attack murdered six Israeli civilians — Esther Ido, Nurit Peleg Mizrahi, Esther Peleg Mizrahi, Slav Demsky, Yehuda Kaklan, and Shoshana Zussman Galanti — and wounded 46 others.
In addition to the bombing, he played a key role in smuggling weapons to other terror cells and in plotting to rig a gas truck with explosives in Jerusalem — a plan intended to cause mass death and destruction among innocent civilians.
<h3>Mohammed Shamasneh </h3>
A Hamas <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1977738959682785785">terrorist</a>, Mohammed Shamasneh, was serving multiple life sentences for a series of cold-blooded murders carried out in the early 1990s. His crimes included the 1990 abduction and brutal killing of two Jerusalem teenagers, Ronen Karamani and Lior Tubul, both from the city’s Ramot neighborhood; the murder of taxi driver Rafi Doron that same year; and the 1993 ambush and killing of IDF soldier Yehoshua Friedberg.
Shamasneh’s actions were part of a wider Hamas campaign of terror aimed at targeting both civilians and soldiers, leaving behind a legacy of grief and horror among his victims’ families.

<h3>Ayham Kamamgi</h3>
A Fatah <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1977740102034944465">terrorist</a> from the village of Dan, Ayham Kamamgi, was serving two life sentences for his role in the 2006 abduction and cold-blooded murder of Israeli teenager Eliyahu Asheri near Ramallah. 
The attack was part of a coordinated effort by his terror cell to target young Israelis and sow fear across the region.
In 2021, he gained notoriety once again as one of the six convicted terrorists who escaped from Israel’s high-security Gilboa Prison, sparking a nationwide manhunt. He was recaptured after several days on the run.
<h3>Ahmad Adel Jaber Saada</h3>
A Hamas <a href="https://x.com/IsraelMFA/status/1977738357355483461">terrorist</a> from Eastern Jerusalem and holder of an Israeli ID card, Ahmad Adel Jaber Saada, was sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in a Hamas terror cell based in Bethlehem that carried out multiple deadly attacks during the early 2000s.
He played a direct role in the November 21, 2002, suicide bombing in Jerusalem, a horrific attack that murdered 11 Israelis and left dozens more wounded. Saada personally assisted the bomber and drove him to the scene of the massacre, ensuring the attack’s success and maximum civilian casualties.
If “innocent Palestinian hostages” were released by Israel every time a swap occurred, as the activists would like you to think, history would not show that it always comes back to haunt them.
A prime example of this is the now-deceased Yahya Sinwar. Sinwar was arrested in 1988 for serious crimes such as abduction and murder. During his time in prison, Israel graciously tasked its doctors with removing a brain abscess he had, saving his life.
In 2011, he was released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange, in which Israel released 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in return for the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
Throughout the 12 years since his release, Sinwar rose to become the leader of Hamas in Gaza and served as the mastermind behind the October 7 attacks. He died one year ago while hiding in a tunnel in Gaza.
From <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@lin_nichi/video/7527500220242955527?is_from_webapp=1&amp;sender_device=pc&amp;web_id=7215984656980690478">claiming</a> Jesus was a Palestinian to claiming Israel is committing a modern rendition of the Holocaust, the “Free Palestine” movement has always relied on twisted information and blatant lies to gain support. The “Palestinian hostages” narrative is a continuation of this tactic.

President Donald Trump fired off a major threat to Hamas on Thursday, saying &#8220;we will have no choice&#8221; but to take out the terrorists if they continue to kill people in Gaza.
Trump issued the threat in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115385030312911724">post</a> on Truth Social as the terror group is ramping up efforts to reassert control of the region by publicly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terror-reigns-hamas-publicly-executes-gazans-after-israeli-troop-pullback">executing</a> Gazans and clashing with rival groups.
&#8220;If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them. Thank you for your attention to this matter!&#8221; Trump wrote.
Trump later told reporters that he did not mean U.S. forces would be used to take out the terrorists.

Hamas agreed to the first phase of the Trump-brokered peace plan with Israel, which initiated a ceasefire while Hamas handed over the remaining living hostages in return for thousands of Palestinian prisoners, including hundreds of terrorists. The terror group, however, has not yet agreed to other points of Trump&#8217;s peace plan, which call on Hamas fighters to lay down their weapons and give up control of the Gaza Strip.
After the ceasefire went into effect and Israeli troops withdrew from parts of Gaza, Hamas appears to have no intention of ending its fight for control. This week, Hamas has killed around 20 fighters from rival groups, while at least 10 Hamas terrorists have been killed in the skirmishes, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/world/middleeast/hamas-crackdown-rivals-gaza.html">reported</a>.
Trump&#8217;s warning to Hamas comes one day after the U.S. Central Command “strongly” urged the terror group to end its violence in Gaza, The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-military-warns-hamas-to-end-gaza-violence-after-trump-vows-to-disarm-terrorist-group">reported</a>. Admiral Brad Cooper, the CENTCOM commander, issued a statement on Wednesday calling on Hamas to take advantage of “an historic opportunity for peace … by fully standing down, strictly adhering to Trump’s 20-point peace plan, and disarming without delay.”

On Tuesday, the president remained optimistic that Hamas would agree to disarm, but he added that he would ensure the terrorists were disarmed by force if they didn&#8217;t agree to lay down their weapons voluntarily.
“They’re going to disarm because they said they were going to disarm,” Trump said. “And if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them.”
“They know I’m not playing games,” the president added.
Administration officials said earlier this week that there were currently no plans to deploy U.S. troops to Israel or Gaza. Two hundred American troops stationed at CENTCOM have been tasked with &#8220;monitoring the peace agreement,&#8221; according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who added that reports that U.S. soldiers were being deployed to Israel were “NOT true and taken out of context.”
Vice President JD Vance said on Sunday, “We’re not planning to put boots on the ground. What we already have is a U.S. Central Command, we already have people in that region of the world. They’re going to monitor the terms of the ceasefire. They’re going to monitor, ensure the humanitarian aid is flowing.”

“We have conveyed our concerns to the mediators who agreed to work with us to enforce the peace and protect innocent Gaza civilians,” Cooper added. “We remain highly optimistic for the future of peace in the region.”
President Trump said on Tuesday that Hamas has already promised to disarm, a major demand in his 20-point peace plan.
“They’re going to disarm because they said they were going to disarm,” Trump said. “And if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them.”
“They know I’m not playing games,” the president added.
Media reports published last week claimed that the United States was deploying 200 troops to Israel to watch over the ceasefire, but White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://x.com/PressSec/status/1976423398164332631?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1976423398164332631%7Ctwgr%5E996a5875757fb3dbf5844d44607057c57034a84e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.livenowfox.com%2Fnews%2Fus-sending-200-troops-israel-gaza-ceasefire-deal">said</a> those reports were “NOT true and taken out of context.” Leavitt added, “To be clear: up to 200 U.S. personnel, who are already stationed at CENTCOM, will be tasked with monitoring the peace agreement in Israel, and they will work with other international forces on the ground.” CENTCOM’s area of responsibility spans across 21 nations in the Middle East.

Vice President JD Vance <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jd-vance-there-will-be-no-u-s-boots-on-the-ground-in-israel-gaza">said</a> earlier this week that the administration had no plans to put American troops on the ground in Gaza or Israel.
“We’re not planning to put boots on the ground. What we already have is a U.S. Central Command, we already have people in that region of the world,” Vance told NBC News on Sunday. “They’re going to monitor the terms of the ceasefire. They’re going to monitor, ensure the humanitarian aid is flowing.”
The first phase of Trump’s peace plan, which went into effect on Monday, did not include Hamas laying down its weapons, nor have the terrorists agreed to give up control of the Gaza Strip, another major point of the president’s plan. Trump, however, remains optimistic that the terror group will agree to those stipulations in the future.
Israel has already accused Hamas of failing to follow through on its promise to hand over all of the remaining hostages. While the 20 remaining living hostages were handed over earlier this week, Israel is still waiting to receive the remains of dozens of hostages who died in Hamas captivity.

The Israeli military said Wednesday that one of the four bodies Hamas returned to Israel on Tuesday night was not a hostage.
The Israel Defense Forces said three of the bodies were those of hostages taken by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, but the fourth &#8220;does not match any of the hostages.&#8221; The military did not say whether the fourth body had been identified.
“Hamas is required to make all necessary efforts to return the deceased hostages,” the IDF posted on X. 
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&#8217;s office called for Hamas to return the remaining bodies. 
“The Hamas terrorist organization is required to uphold its commitments to the mediators and return them as part of the implementation of the agreement. We will not compromise on this and will spare no effort until we return all of the fallen hostages, every last one of them,” his office said. 
The other three bodies were identified as Tamir Nimrodi, Uriel Baruch, and Eitan Levi. 
“SSGT Tamir Nimrodi was kidnapped alive and was killed while in captivity at the age of 18. Uriel Baruch was killed during the Oct. 7 Massacre and his body was kidnapped into Gaza. Eitan Levi was killed during the Oct. 7 Massacre and his body was kidnapped into Gaza. May their memories be a blessing,” the IDF said on X.
Netanyahu said the three bodies returned — and all deceased hostages — would be given proper burials in Israel.
“The Government of Israel shares in the deep sorrow of the Baruch, Nimrodi, and Levi families, and all the families of the fallen hostages,” he said. “The Government and the entire establishment for the missing and the captives of the State of Israel are determined, committed, and working tirelessly to return all of our fallen hostages for proper burial in their country.”
In response to Hamas’s handling of the hostage release, Israel told the United Nations it would reduce the number of daily aid trucks entering Gaza from 600 to 300, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/no-aid-scale-up-yet-gaza-aid-agencies-say-2025-10-14/">reported</a>. It’s unclear when or if the change will take effect.
&#8220;Hamas violated the agreement regarding the release of the bodies of the hostages held in the Gaza Strip. As a result, the political leadership has decided to impose a number of sanctions related to the humanitarian agreement that was reached,&#8221; the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), an Israeli Ministry of Defense unit, wrote.

On Monday, the final 20 living hostages were released by Hamas in exchange for hundreds of prisoners released by Israel under the terms of a ceasefire. The exchange was the first part of an agreement between Israel and Hamas negotiated by President Donald Trump. 
Part of the plan includes Hamas agreeing to disarm and give up control over Gaza. After Israel pulled back troops in accordance with the agreement, Hamas publicly executed at least seven men in Gaza accused of working with Israeli forces.

Hamas publicly executed at least seven men on Monday as the terror group moves to reassert control over the Gaza Strip after the ceasefire agreement with Israel.
The men, whom Hamas accused of working with Israeli forces, were bound, dragged in front of a crowd of people, and forced to their knees, according to a video that was verified by <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/hamas-fighters-tighten-grip-gaza-clouding-future-ceasefire-2025-10-14/">Reuters</a> and the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cvg02zp7j2rt?post=asset%3A6951fa1b-1a5f-41f8-86a7-354681367720#post">BBC</a>. Hamas fighters then shot each man in the back of the head. The terror group said that the men were “criminals and collaborators with Israel,&#8221; the BBC reported.
Since the ceasefire and hostage deal with Israel, Hamas has been fighting rival groups in the Gaza Strip, seeking to reestablish dominance over Gazans. Dozens of people have been killed in skirmishes between Hamas and rival groups this week, Reuters reported.
Following the Trump-brokered deal, Israeli forces partially withdrew from the Gaza Strip, moving back to an agreed-upon line near the Israeli border. The hostage deal was only the first phase of Trump&#8217;s 20-point peace plan for the region, and it does not require Hamas to disarm — a vital piece of Trump&#8217;s broader goal.
On Monday, the terror group stood by its agreement to hand over the remaining 20 living hostages to Israel, but it failed to locate and hand over the remains of all the deceased hostages. Hamas also accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement after Israeli troops fired upon Palestinians on Tuesday. The Israel Defense Forces said that troops warned a group of people to turn back as they approached them in northern Gaza.
&#8220;After multiple attempts to distance them, the suspects refused to comply, prompting troops to open fire to remove the threat. Reports of terrorists infiltrating an IDF position are incorrect,&#8221; the IDF <a href="https://x.com/IDF/status/1978018729649643600">said</a>. &#8220;The IDF urges Gaza residents to follow instructions and keep their distance from IDF troops.&#8221;
President Trump spoke at the Knesset and then traveled to Egypt to meet with Arab leaders and tout the peace efforts in the Middle East. During his speech at the Knesset, Trump said that the agreement marks the beginning of &#8220;the golden age of Israel and the golden age of the Middle East.”

TERROR REIGNS: Hamas Publicly Executes Gazans After Israeli Troop Pullback

The next stages of a fragile peace plan are coming together, though many questions remain, after President Donald Trump&#8217;s historic trip to the Middle East.
Trump closed his whirlwind tour of the Middle East with a speech attended by dozens of world leaders in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. After the initial phase of his plan for peace in Gaza secured the release of the last 20 living hostages from Hamas, Trump in his Egypt speech declared that “now the rebuilding begins.”
The president stated throughout his trip that the “war is over,” but many details remain unsettled while a tenuous ceasefire holds between Israel and Hamas. The region must solve pressing questions before anything resembling Palestinian self-determination can be hoped for.
Under the Trump peace plan, the Gaza enclave is to be administered by a mix of Palestinian and international technocrats led by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Their work would be overseen by a board chaired by Trump.
But the Palestinians who join the administration of Gaza must be committed to peace, and Hamas can have no part in it, which the terror group has not committed to. Neither has Hamas committed to completely disarming. On the contrary, the terror group has reportedly started <a href="https://x.com/SpencerGuard/status/1977839282309201934">conducting</a> public executions since the Israel Defense Forces pulled back from Gaza’s interior.

Regardless of Hamas’ actions, the prerequisite for Israel to sanction Palestinian self-determination has been firm: Gaza can no longer represent any meaningful threat to the Jewish state or its citizens.
Trump championed the efforts to rebuild Gaza that have already begun, starting with aid flowing into the area.
“Humanitarian aid is now pouring in, including hundreds of truckloads of food, medical equipment, and other supplies – much of it paid for by people in this room,” Trump <a href="https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/1977782201170239858">said</a> in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The aid is needed and necessary to begin alleviating the worst conditions in Gaza, but the project of rebuilding the strip will likely take decades of work and investment. For much of that support, the president has turned to Arab and Muslim leaders in the region.
“Numerous countries of great wealth and power and dignity have come forward to me just today and over the last week to say they want to help in the reconstruction of Gaza, putting up whatever money is necessary,” the president <a href="https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/1977788279161295134">said</a>. “Of course, it’s a lot of money, but it&#8217;s not much compared to the value of the wealth of these tremendous countries, and they are ensuring stability and success in the Middle East.”
Security in Gaza will likely be led by an international force mostly supplied from Arab and Muslim countries. Indonesia has <a href="https://www.jpost.com/international/article-868438">committed</a> to sending 20,000 troops to Gaza to act as a security force. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said that Cairo was ready to commit forces as well, as long as the mission for such a force was made clear by the UN Security Council.
“We are in the process now, as we speak, [of] providing training and coordination with Jordan to train up to 5,000 Palestinians to be deployed in Gaza,” Abdelatty <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jd-vance-there-will-be-no-u-s-boots-on-the-ground-in-israel-gaza">said</a> on CBS News’ “Face The Nation” on Sunday. “Deployment of international forces is on the table.”

Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken attempted to credit his boss, former President Joe Biden, with laying the framework for President Donald Trump&#8217;s historic deal in Gaza — the deal that has so far secured the release of all remaining living hostages and will, if followed, end the war between Israel and the terror group Hamas.
Blinken, who was serving as the nation&#8217;s top diplomat when Hamas militants breached the Israeli border and slaughtered more than 1,200 men, women, and children on October 7, 2023, was part of the initial efforts to reach a ceasefire and the return of some 250 hostages who were also abducted on that day. And while he did give President Trump nominal credit for getting an agreement across the finish line, he made it clear that he believed Biden deserved praise for taking the first steps in that direction.
&#8220;In Gaza today, the guns are largely silent. If all goes as planned, the remaining Israeli hostages will return home. Palestinians will get the relief they desperately need and deserve. Nothing can erase the pain and loss of the past two years. But there is real hope of building on this step to finally end the war,&#8221; Blinken began a series of posts on X. &#8220;President Trump and his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner deserve our collective thanks for producing this ceasefire and the renewed possibility of lasting peace.&#8221;

He then laid out the reasons he believed the deal had finally come to fruition — beginning with the fact that Hamas had been &#8220;finally and fully isolated&#8221; but failing to acknowledge the Trump administration&#8217;s active role in enforcing that isolation. He also noted that Hamas had learned the &#8220;cavalry&#8221; – meaning Hezbollah, the Houthis, and even Iran — would not come to their aid in Gaza, but again omitted the fact that Trump had put pressure on Iran to ensure exactly that outcome.

&#8220;In the coming days we can expect to see joyful images: of hostages reunited with their loved ones and the people of Gaza getting respite from the war and receiving the help they need,&#8221; Blinken continued, flashing back to the Biden administration and the early ceasefire-for-hostages deals. &#8220;We’ve seen these images before. Under President Biden’s watch, we secured the release of 135 hostages and, in January 2025 we handed over a ceasefire with Israeli forces pulling back, tens of thousands of aid trucks going into Gaza and a post conflict plan for a permanent end to hostilities.&#8221;
The real question going forward, Blinken said, was simple: &#8220;How can we build a lasting peace?&#8221; He then claimed that the Biden administration had developed the plan for Gaza, and that Trump had simply &#8220;adopted and built on&#8221; that.
&#8220;It starts with a clear and comprehensive post conflict plan for Gaza. It’s good that President Trump adopted and built on the plan the Biden Administration developed after months of discussion with Arab partners, Israel and the Palestinian Authority,&#8221; Blinken said.
Trump was neither convinced nor impressed by Blinken&#8217;s claims, and said so to reporters aboard Air Force One. &#8220;Everybody knows that&#8217;s a joke. They did such a bad job. This should&#8217;ve never happened. This wouldn&#8217;t have happened. That was weak leadership, terrible — and the same thing with Russia,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Everything they did was the opposite of what you should&#8217;ve done.&#8221;

President Donald Trump said Monday that the release of the last Israeli hostages held by Hamas would open the door to a new “golden age” of peace and stability for Israel and the Middle East.
Speaking to Israel’s Knesset, Trump urged the nations in the Middle East to pursue peace and economic prosperity following the Israel-Hamas ceasefire brokered by his administration.
&#8220;Generations from now, this will be remembered as the moment that everything began to change and change very much for the better. Like the USA right now, it will be the golden age of Israel and the golden age of the Middle East,” Trump said. 
&#8220;This is not only the end of a war—it is the end of an age of terror and death, and the beginning of the age of faith, and hope, and of God,” he added. “This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East.&#8221;

During his speech, Trump expressed gratitude to the Arab nations that he said played a role in pressuring Hamas to agree to the deal.
“This long and difficult war has now ended,” Trump said. “And in an unprecedented achievement, virtually the entire region has endorsed the plan that Gaza will be immediately demilitarized, that Hamas will be disarmed and Israel&#8217;s security will no longer be threatened in any way, shape or form.”
He also called for more nations to join the Abraham Accords, an agreement to normalize relations with Israel signed by countries like the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain during Trump’s first term. 
“It&#8217;s more obvious than ever that the productive and responsible nations of this region should not be enemies or adversaries; you should be partners and eventually, even friends, and that&#8217;s what&#8217;s going to happen. I know it. Together, you can stand against the forces of chaos,” Trump said.

Just hours before Trump’s speech, the final 20 living hostages held by Hamas were released after more than two years in captivity. The hostages were escorted out of Gaza by the Red Cross, transferred to the Israel Defense Forces, and reunited with their families.
Trump is now set to head to Egypt, where he will attend a Middle East peace summit.
