President Trump declined to rule out a pardon for disgraced rapper Sean &#8220;Diddy&#8221; Combs if the hip-hop mogul is convicted on federal sex trafficking charges.
Trump made the remarks during an Oval Office press conference alongside Elon Musk on Friday, &#8220;Nobody&#8217;s asked. But I know people are thinking about it. I know they&#8217;re thinking about it. I think some people have been very close to asking,&#8221; the president said in response to Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy.
Trump said he hasn&#8217;t been following the case closely, but was aware of the extensive media coverage the trial was receiving.

Combs&#8217; trial began in early May, and if convicted, the Bad Boy Records founder faces life in prison.
The president acknowledged his former ties to the embattled music mogul, but added that he hasn&#8217;t seen or spoken to Combs in years.
“I haven’t seen him, I haven’t spoken to him in years,” Trump said. “He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics … that relationship busted up, from what I read. I don’t know — he didn’t tell me that, but I’d read some little bit nasty statements.”
Trump emphasized that any pardon decision would be based solely on the merits of the case.
&#8220;I would certainly look at the facts. If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don&#8217;t like me, it wouldn&#8217;t have any impact on me,&#8221; he stated.

Elon Musk said on Friday that while he is taking a step back from his role in the White House, the Department of Government Efficiency, which he helped spearhead, will continue to &#8220;grow stronger.&#8221;
Musk appeared alongside President Donald Trump in the Oval Office for a press conference on the end of Musk&#8217;s time as a &#8220;special government employee.&#8221; During the press conference, Trump praised Musk for his work with the DOGE team, and Musk said he would remain an adviser to the president.
&#8220;This is not the end of DOGE, but really the beginning,&#8221; Musk said. &#8220;My time as a special government employee necessarily had to end. It was a limited-time thing &#8230; but the DOGE team will only grow stronger over time. The DOGE influence will only grow stronger.&#8221;
&#8220;It is permeating throughout the government, and I am confident that, over time, we will see &#8230; a trillion dollars of waste and fraud reduction,&#8221; he added.
Musk, who will return to focusing more of his attention on his companies Tesla and SpaceX — and his mission to get humanity to Mars — added that DOGE still predicts saving the federal government over $160 billion for fiscal year 2025 to 2026. &#8220;And that&#8217;s climbing,&#8221; he said.

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Kim Sajet was removed from her position, accusing Sajet of being &#8220;a highly partisan person&#8221; and &#8220;a strong supporter of DEI.&#8221;
&#8220;Upon the request and recommendation of many people, I am herby terminating the employment of Kim Sajet as Director of the National Portrait Gallery,&#8221; the president said. &#8220;She is a highly partisan person, and a strong supporter of DEI, which is totally inappropriate for her position. Her replacement will be named shortly. Thank you for your attention to this matter!&#8221;
Sajet, a <a href="https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?contributor_name=Kim%20Sajet">long time Democrat donor</a>, has served since 2013 as the director of the Smithsonian&#8217;s National Portrait Gallery, which contains 1,700 portraits of United States presidents and is located less than a mile away from the White House itself. A review of her <a href="https://www.kimsajet.com/post/atlantic-festival-race-justice-summit-jill-lepore">remarks to media</a> show that she was heavily focused on promoting and highlighting art based on ideology.
&#8220;Are the categories sexist, ableist, racist?&#8221; Sajet <a href="https://archive.ph/MfPtK#selection-1417.0-1421.162">said in one Washington Post interview</a> as she discussed the National Portrait Gallery&#8217;s &#8220;language justice.&#8221; &#8220;How can we be respectful of communities that have been hurt and continue to be hurt? I want someone reading the label to understand that it’s based on historical fact.”
Yet the caption under Trump&#8217;s photo reads, in part: “Impeached twice, on charges of abuse of power and incitement of insurrection after supporters attacked the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, he was acquitted by the Senate in both trials. The president discussed the matter as he took questions from reporters in the Oval Office on Friday afternoon during a press conference with Elon Musk, who is closing out his time with the administration. The presser comes amidst heavy scrutiny of the coverup of Biden&#8217;s mental decline, particularly in light of a new book on how the White House sought to hide the president&#8217;s condition from the public.
Fox News&#8217; Peter Doocey questioned the president about the topic, asking Trump: &#8220;Do you think that Dr. Jill Biden should also have to come in and testify about what she did or didn&#8217;t do?&#8221;
Trump responded, &#8220;Well, I hate the concept of it.&#8221;

Trump&#8217;s post on Truth Social blasting China for violating the deal came just hours after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdyXQv5WTYE" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Fox News host Bret Baier that the talks with China &#8220;are a bit stalled.&#8221; Bessent added that negotiations will hopefully resume &#8220;in the next few weeks.&#8221;
Similarly, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told CNBC that China has been slow-walking in its compliance with the trade agreement, particularly regarding the flow of rare earth minerals, which China promised to again export to the United States after restricting shipments in response to Trump&#8217;s tariffs.

The Justice Department, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, pointed out the leftist bias of the American Bar Association (ABA) and ordered that it will bo longer have access to non-public information, including bar records.
The ABA uses a ratings process in which their Standing Committee rates each nominee &#8220;Well Qualified,&#8221; &#8220;Qualified&#8221; or &#8220;Not Qualified.&#8221; “Unanimous committee ratings appear as a single rating. In other situations, the rating from the majority or substantial majority (2/3 or more of those voting) of the Committee is recorded first, followed by the rating or ratings of a minority of the Committee. The majority rating is the rating of the committee,” the ABA notes on its <a href="https://www.americanbar.org/groups/committees/federal_judiciary/ratings/">website</a>.
“The ABA has a history of taking liberal positions on issues including abortion, the death penalty, same-sex marriage, affirmative action, and the Second Amendment,” National Review <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/yes-the-aba-is-still-a-left-wing-advocacy-group/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> in 2019. “The organization’s ideological bias has long tainted its ratings of judicial nominees. An entire book on the subject was written as early as 1965, Joel B. Grossman’s Lawyers and Judges: The ABA and the Politics of Judicial Selection.”
Of the 15 members on the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary in 2019, five donated to Barack Obama’s campaign, three to that of Hillary Clinton, and none to the three Republican nominees between 2008-2016. Incredibly, the ABA gave a minority “Not Qualified” rating to iconic Judge Robert Bork and other conservative legal scholars, including Richard A. Posner, Edith H. Jones, and William H. Pryor, among others.
“For several decades, the American Bar Association has received special treatment and enjoyed special access to judicial nominees,” Bondi wrote in a letter to ABA President William Bay. “In some administrations, the ABA received notice of nominees before a nomination was announced to the public. Some administrations would even decide whether to nominate an individual based on a rating assigned by the ABA.”

Accordingly, while the ABA is free to comment on judicial nominations along with other activist organizations, there is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so. Specifically, the Office of Legal Policy will no longer direct nominees to provide waivers allowing the ABA access to non-public information, including bar records. Nominees will also not respond to questionnaires prepared by the ABA and will not sit for interviews with the ABA.

After the Republican-led Senate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-rejects-bid-to-stop-trumps-liberation-day-tariffs-vance-stifles-attempt-to-resurrect-it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rejected</a> last month a resolution spearheaded by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) to stop the national emergency declaration that Trump used to impose his “Liberation Day” tariffs, the courts &#8220;should have no role here,&#8221; Leavitt insisted.
&#8220;America cannot function if President Trump, or any other president for that matter, has their sensitive diplomatic or trade negotiations railroaded by activist judges,&#8221; Leavitt said, alluding to negotiations the U.S. is having with other nations to strike trade deals.
There are more hurdles ahead for the Trump administration. Another federal judge issued a <a href="https://apnews.com/live/donald-trump-news-updates-5-29-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruling</a> on Thursday, around when Leavitt spoke to reporters, that placed a stoppage on the president&#8217;s tariffs.
In a post on X, Sen. Paul <a href="https://x.com/RandPaul/status/1928111254704386119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>, &#8220;I have said time and time again that the Founders wanted to prevent one person from having unilateral control and decision-making powers. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he will “look at” issuing pardons for two men convicted of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020.
Trump floated the potential pardons while taking questions from reporters in the Oval Office. The president said that he thought the two men – Barry Croft, 49, and Adam Fox, 42 – may have been “railroaded” by the FBI and prosecutors.
“I will take a look at it. It’s been brought to my attention. I did watch the trial. It looked to me like somewhat of a railroad job, I&#8217;ll be honest with you,” said Trump. “It looked to me like some people said some stupid things, you know. They were drinking, and I think they said stupid things, but I&#8217;ll take a look at that.”
“A lot of people are asking me that question from both sides, actually. A lot of people think they got railroaded. A lot of people think they got railroaded, and probably some people don’t,” he added.

A jury convicted Croft and Fox in August of 2022 of conspiring to kidnap Whitmer and of conspiring to obtain a weapon of mass destruction. Croft was found guilty of an additional weapons charge.
Croft was sentenced to just under 20 years in prison with an additional five years of supervised release. Fox was sentenced to 16 years in prison with five years supervised release.

The case against Croft and Fox was mired in controversy and embarrassment for the FBI. The two men were convicted on their second trial after the first ended in a mistrial. At the first trial, two other alleged co-conspirators, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta, were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/judge-orders-new-trial-for-whitmer-plot-alleged-masterminds-after-fbis-humiliation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquitted</a> after their attorneys argued that the FBI tactics used during the investigation amounted to entrapment.
Two other men, Ty Garbin and Kaleb Franks, had earlier pleaded guilty in connection with the conspiracy.
Much of the controversy around the FBI investigation into the plot to kidnap the governor revolved around two confidential human sources used by the FBI to gather evidence, Jenny Plunk and Steve Robeson. Both <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/whitmer-kidnapping-plot-fbi-informant-slept-in-the-same-room-smoked-weed-with-defendant" target="_blank" rel="noopener">smoked</a> marijuana with Croft during the investigation, a federal crime. Plunk also shared a hotel room with Croft at one point, raising further questions about the limits of the behavior of confidential human sources.
At one point during the investigation, the alleged conspiracists appeared to be headed for a split until FBI agent Christopher Long stepped in. Long <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-worked-to-keep-alleged-conspiracist-in-violent-group-headed-for-split" target="_blank" rel="noopener">directed</a> Plunk to try to keep the group of men together.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Canada was &#8220;considering&#8221; becoming the 51st state in exchange for free participation in his Golden Dome missile defense program.
Trump, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-reveals-new-details-about-golden-dome-missile-defense-system-to-protect-u-s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> last week that his administration had developed a draft architecture for the Golden Dome project, said Canada would have to pay around $61 billion to join the program but not become a state. While Trump has frequently suggested that Canada could become a state, Canadian leaders have consistently rejected the idea.
&#8220;I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State,&#8221; Trump posted on Truth Social. &#8220;They are considering the offer!&#8221;
The Golden Dome, which is projected to cost around $175 billion, is supposed to protect America from hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles. Last week, Trump said he expects the program to be &#8220;fully operational&#8221; by the end of his term.
“Once fully constructed, the Golden Dome will be capable of intercepting missiles even if they are launched from other sides of the world, and even if they are launched from space, and we will have the best system ever built,” Trump said. “We will truly be completing the job that President Reagan started 40 years ago forever ending the missile threat to the American homeland.”

Last week, he said that Canada was in talks to join the program, but would have to pay their &#8220;fair share &#8221; if they wanted in. Prime Minister Mark Carney <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy4ee9jmk17o" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> that he was in talks with the Trump administration about the Golden Dome.
&#8220;Canadians gave the prime minister a strong mandate to negotiate a comprehensive new security and economic relationship with the United States,&#8221; Carney spokeswoman Audrey Champoux said. &#8220;These discussions naturally include strengthening NORAD [North American Aerospace Defense Command] and related initiatives such as the Golden Dome.&#8221;
Carney has consistently said that Canada would never become part of the United States, telling Trump during a visit to the Oval Office earlier this year that his country would not be open to the suggestion.

Savannah, a supporter of Trump&#8217;s and senior fellow of the Nolan Center for Justice, posted a video on social media thanking the president for calling her personally and bringing her family back together.
&#8220;We are freaking out over here,&#8221; Savannah, wearing a MAGA hat, said in a video posted to Instagram. &#8220;We have shed so many tears. The president called me personally, as I was walking into Sam&#8217;s Club, and notified me that he was signing pardon paperwork for both my parents. So, both my parents are coming home!&#8221;
&#8220;The fact that the president called me &#8212; I will forever be grateful for President Trump, his administration, and everyone along the way,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;I am eternally grateful.&#8221;
Savannah noted that Trump&#8217;s unconditional pardon will give her parents &#8220;their lives back,&#8221; and added that she intends to wear her pink &#8220;MAGA&#8221; hat when she goes to pick them up.

As previously reported by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reality-stars-todd-and-julie-chrisley-sentenced-to-prison" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a>, the Chrisleys were convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Additionally, Julie was convicted of wire fraud and obstruction of justice.

Todd is serving out a 12-year sentence, while Julie was sentenced to seven years behind bars. The couple, however, did get their sentences slightly reduced in 2023, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/reality-tv-stars-todd-and-julie-chrisleys-sentences-have-been-reduced" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Wire</a> highlighted.
CPAC Foundation’s Nolan Center for Justice cheered the coming pardon.
&#8220;Todd and Julie Chrisley &#8230; were prosecuted under political circumstances years ago resulting in a combined 19-year prison sentence,&#8221; the statement <a href="https://www.cpac.org/post/nolan-center-for-justice-celebrates-pardoning-of-todd-and-julie-chrisley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. &#8220;Nolan Center for Justice Senior Fellow Savannah Chrisley, has been a tireless advocate for their release, providing evidence of prosecutorial misconduct and political bias in their case. A recent Office of Inspector General (OIG) report supported claims that Georgia investigators improperly accessed the Chrisleys’ financial records, highlighting the systemic issues within our justice system.&#8221;
