President Donald Trump said Tuesday that an extension to Obamacare subsidies &#8220;may be necessary,” but he would prefer a plan that made direct payments to American citizens instead.
The Affordable Care Act/Obamacare subsidies, set to expire at the end of the year, were the focus of Democrats&#8217; demands during the government shutdown. Some Republicans have pushed to let them expire, while others have argued they should be extended. The Senate is expected to vote on the future of the subsidies sometime in December. 
While en route to Florida on Tuesday night, Trump was asked if he would like to see the Obamacare subsidies extended. 
“I’d rather not. Somebody said I want to extend them for two years. I don’t want to extend them for two years,” Trump <a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/2K8V3xqC9Gc">told</a> reporters on board Air Force One. “I’d rather not extend them at all. Some kind of an extension may be necessary to get something else done because the &#8216;Unaffordable Care Act&#8217; has been a disaster.” 
When asked what kind of health care policy he would like to see, Trump said it would involve the federal government giving people money to purchase their own plans.

“I like my plan the best. Don’t give any money to the insurance companies; give it to the people directly. Let them buy their own health care plan,” Trump said. “And we’re looking at that. If that can work. We’re looking at that. That’s sort of taking off. That’s what I like. Don&#8217;t give the money to the insurance companies.”
Trump said that skyrocketing health care premiums were “the Democrats’ fault,” but added that they were negotiating with him. 
&#8220;It’s very interesting,” he said. ”I can’t tell you who, but we have a lot of Democrats who want this plan to happen. They would love to see the money go to the people and the people go out and get their own health care.&#8221;
Trump&#8217;s comments came after POLITICO <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/24/trump-health-care-subsidies-backlash-00667751" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that he planned to introduce a plan that included a two-year extension of Obamacare subsidies. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/11/25/donald-trump-affordable-care-act-subsidies-tax-credit/87473037007/">said</a> on Tuesday that health care discussions were ongoing. 
&#8220;The president is having ongoing conversations with members of his administration, members of Congress, and private sector experts,&#8221; she said. &#8220;He will make recommendations for healthcare policy improvements in the near future.”
On November 18, Trump said on social media that the only plan he would support or approve would be one that sends “THE MONEY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PEOPLE, WITH NOTHING GOING TO THE BIG, FAT, RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHO HAVE MADE $TRILLIONS, AND RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH.”

Trump and Pritzker are at odds over the governor&#8217;s opposition to the president demanding crime be cleaned up in Chicago specifically, and illegal immigrants in the city be deported.

Pritzker has also done nothing to stop the attacks and assaults on federal immigration officers in his state, instead staunchly opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement&#8217;s (ICE) efforts.

President Donald Trump was busy on Sunday night sharing numerous social media posts — many from anonymous accounts — that accused six Democratic lawmakers of sedition over their calls for military members to disobey &#8220;illegal orders.&#8221;
After two Democratic senators and four representatives appeared in a video <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrats-urge-military-to-disobey-orders-from-trump-admin-trigger-accusations-of-insurrection">urging</a> military members to refuse unlawful orders, Trump suggested that their action could be viewed as &#8220;SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!&#8221; Trump later clarified that he was not calling for the Democrats to face the death penalty, saying, “In the old days, if you said a thing like that, that was punishable by death.”
Trump, however, appears to believe that the Democrats should be punished in some form. On Sunday night, he shared an AI-generated video depicting the six Democrats in <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115601863709910309">prison</a>. In another <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115601898049338376">post</a> shared by Trump, an anonymous social media user argues that the Democrats&#8217; plea is the &#8220;literal definition of sedition and they literally put it on video!!!!&#8221;
The president also <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115601867440120506">shared</a> multiple posts that argued that the Democrats are guilty of violating <a href="https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title18-section2387&amp;num=0&amp;edition=prelim">18 USC 2387</a>, which makes it a crime to &#8220;interfere with, impair, or influence the loyalty, morale, or discipline of the military or naval forces of the United States.&#8221; Those who violate the U.S. code face up to ten years in prison. Trump shared yet another post that <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115601883571083274">called</a> for bypassing the &#8220;corrupted&#8221; justice system by holding military tribunals.
The video that caused an uproar and resulted in accusations of treason was made by Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), and Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO). In the video, the Democrats accuse the Trump administration of &#8220;pitting our uniformed military and intelligence community professionals against American citizens.&#8221;

“Our laws are clear: You can refuse illegal orders,” they said in the video, adding, “You can refuse illegal orders. You must refuse illegal orders. No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution.”
Another <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115601862810818001">post</a> shared by Trump on Sunday night suggests that Slotkin is using her training and knowledge from working at the CIA to &#8220;invoke a rebellion.&#8221; Slotkin, who worked for the CIA and the then-Defense Department in the early 2000s, defended the Democrats&#8217; video, arguing that it is lawful to disobey illegal orders and that the Founding Fathers wanted &#8220;to ensure our military upholds its oath to the Constitution — not a king.&#8221;
On Sunday, Slotkin was asked by &#8220;This Week&#8221; host Martha Raddatz on ABC whether any of Trump&#8217;s orders have been unlawful.
&#8220;To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly, there are some legal gymnastics going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela,&#8221; Slotkin <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/week-transcript-11-23-25-sen-elissa-slotkin/story?id=127763059">said</a>.
She added that she is also concerned about &#8220;the use of U.S. military on American shores &#8230; in our cities and in our streets.&#8221;

President Donald Trump is optimistic that a peace agreement could be reached in the Russia-Ukraine war.
In a Truth Social post on Monday morning, the president wrote, “Is it really possible that big progress is being made in Peace Talks between Russia and Ukraine??? Don’t believe it until you see it, but something good just may be happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Ukrainian officials in Geneva, Switzerland, over the weekend to discuss a possible end to the war that accelerated in 2022.
“We’re working through making some changes, some adjustments, in the hopes of further narrowing the differences and getting closer to something that both Ukraine and, obviously, the United States are very comfortable with,” Rubio <a href="https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/2025/11/secretary-of-state-marco-rubio-and-ukrainian-presidential-office-head-andriy-yermak-remarks-to-press">said</a> on Sunday.

Rubio added that the meeting was “very, very meaningful,” calling it “the best meeting and day we’ve had so far in this entire process” when it kicked off in January.
It’s unclear whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will agree to a deal at this point.
“And then obviously there’s the Russian side of the equation,” Rubio said. “But again, we think we have some pretty substantial insights over the last nine months into some of the things that are really important to them.”
Trump and Putin met at a summit in Alaska over the summer. Some Republican lawmakers have scrutinized potential components of a proposed peace plan, arguing that it would give Russia too much of what it might want in the wake of the land invasion.
“But those who think pressuring the victim and appeasing the aggressor will bring peace are kidding themselves,” Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) posted to X. “Which difficult concessions are we pressing Russia to make?”
“How does limiting Ukraine’s defenses against future aggression increase the likelihood of enduring peace? The price and stability of peace matters, and our credibility is on the line. Allies and adversaries are watching: Will America hold firm against aggression or will we reward it?” he added.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said that “congressional review” should be part of the process.
“The proposed Russia-Ukraine peace deal provides an opportunity to end the war honorably and justly,” he wrote on X. “Congress should also have the ability to review a plan that includes any future security guarantees — just like we have the ability to review any Iran nuclear agreement.”

President Donald Trump said that he expects to have a “civil” conversation with Democratic socialist and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani during a meeting at the White House on Friday afternoon. 
Trump acknowledged during a Friday <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/trump-predicts-civil-meeting-mamdani-despite-past-comments-about-each-other">interview</a> with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade that the two have radically different political positions, but said they both want New York City to be &#8220;strong.&#8221;
“He&#8217;s a little bit different. I give him a lot of credit for the run. He did a successful run, and we all know that runs are not easy. But I think we&#8217;ll get along fine. Look, we&#8217;re looking for the same thing. We want to make New York strong, and, you know, there&#8217;s such a different philosophy, but I&#8217;ll let you know.  I&#8217;ll let you know over the next year.”

“I was hitting him a little hard too, in all fairness,” Trump replied. Trump has called Mamdani a communist and suggested that he might cut federal funding for NYC if Mamdani were elected. 
“He had some interesting opponents. But he ran a good race. I don&#8217;t know exactly what he means by turn the volume up,” adding that he needs to be “careful” when he says that. 
Trump first announced Thursday that Mamdani had asked to meet and would be coming to the White House. 
“He was very nice in calling, as you know, and we&#8217;re going to have a meeting,” Trump said. “I think it&#8217;s going to be quite civil. We&#8217;ll find out.”

Though the government shutdown has ended, the fight over Obamacare is still raging.
Democrats want to extend and renew the Affordable Care Act&#8217;s expanded COVID-era subsidies, which are set to expire on December 31. Doing so would cost American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade. Republicans want to let the subsidies lapse, and find a way to reform America&#8217;s healthcare system.
Ryan Long, Senior Research Fellow at the Paragon Health Institute, told The Daily Wire that the expanded subsidies have created zero-dollar insurance plans that have sparked widespread fraud and abuse.
&#8220;There&#8217;s upwards of 6 million people who aren&#8217;t actually within that income category that are claiming credits as if they were in that income category,” he explained. “In certain states, there are three to four times as many people enrolled in 100 to 150% of poverty in these $0 plans than there are people actually in those income brackets.”
“So these COVID credits have just produced massive amounts of fraud,” he said. “The federal government’s paying, you know, upwards of $27 billion to $30 billion in fraudulent payments.”
Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz echoed this concern last week. “Today, it’s over 11 million people who have Obamacare, never use their policies … which means they often don’t know that they have it,” he said. “Yet we’re stuck with the bill.”
Obamacare is also making health insurance more expensive. Obamacare plan premiums have climbed a whopping 169% since 2013. The increase is far steeper than that of employer-sponsored insurance, because when prices rise, the government is paying most of the cost, so insurers can keep raising them without people feeling the impact, Long explained.
“What we’ve seen is, since the [ACA] was established or implemented in 2014, employer-sponsored premiums have gone up about 68%. ACA premiums have gone up 129%,” he said. “So that can’t be a function of just prices going up. There’s something truly wrong here.”
Healthcare costs and wait times have not improved since the implementation of Obamacare, either. So, where is all this money going?
Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) told The Daily Wire in an interview this week that a lot of this money is going to insurance companies.
&#8220;The largest carrier of exchange policies is UnitedHealthcare,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Their stock price has gone up 1,177 % since the invitation of Obamacare. Of the top seven carriers, the smallest amount of stock increases — I think, 414%. A lot of money into the insurance companies, a lot of money into the hospitals. There&#8217;s no doubt about it that we&#8217;ve got rural hospitals that are in trouble, but the big city hospitals are making money hand over fists.&#8221;
&#8220;There is nothing about Obamacare that created incentives to save money,&#8221; he emphasized. &#8220;All the incentives are to increase the money spent on healthcare so everybody gets their cut, everybody gets to make their profit. Non-profit hospitals, take a look at the pay of CEOs — some of them are making over $30 million a year in total compensation.&#8221;
&#8220;Money is flowing into the medical establishment, they&#8217;re making money hand over fists; the tabs are being picked up by the American taxpayer,&#8221; the senator told The Daily Wire.
Democrats’ solution to the healthcare crisis is to continue to extend and expand subsidies.
“We had a provision that was ready to be signed, that we know would’ve decreased premiums by 10 to 15%,” Long said. “Senate Democrats objected to it — the same policy that they were saying we had to do back in 2018. And so I think that they’ve just said, ‘Hey, the horse is outta the barn, we’ll just, you know, paper over any mistakes with more subsidies.’”
Johnson said Democrats are insisting on extending the COVID-era subsidies &#8220;to paper over to hide the fact that Obamacare has just been a miserable failure.&#8221;
&#8220;It caused premiums to skyrocket, as opposed to &#8230; President Obama saying that he would reduce premiums by $2,500 a year by family — again, that&#8217;s a total lie,&#8221; he added.
Johnson also pushed back on Democrats&#8217; claims that premiums will double for millions and millions of Americans if the subsidies aren&#8217;t extended.
&#8220;Twenty-two million of the 24 million people will still get their subsidies, the original Obamacare subsidies, which subsidize the insurance at 91 % of the premiums,&#8221; he explained. &#8220;So their premiums won&#8217;t double.&#8221;
&#8220;Now, you can argue that people that went from paying a negligible amount to zero premiums, they&#8217;re going to have to pay another negligible amount,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;But again, going from zero to a negligible amount is an infinite increase. You can&#8217;t put that as &#8216;doubling premiums.'&#8221;
&#8220;The people we&#8217;re talking about, the 1.6 million people whose subsidies completely go away — I&#8217;m willing to work with Democrats on that,&#8221; the senator added. &#8220;But again, it&#8217;s simply false to say that most people are gonna see their premiums double and triple. Now, the gross premium has more than doubled and tripled since Obamacare, but that&#8217;s because of Obamacare.&#8221;
The GOP believes that deep reforms need to be made — or Obamacare needs to be scrapped entirely.

Republicans seem to be on board with the proposal. In fact, Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) said last weekend that he’s drafting legislation to put this idea into action.
Long said this could be a good move for Americans. If Congress were to adequately fund Cost-Sharing Reductions (CSR) — which are supposed to help people pay for things like deductibles and copays — that could drastically lower premiums and cut tens of billions of dollars in taxpayer funding, he explained. And, as Trump proposed, sending that money straight to Americans rather than insurance companies would only empower patients.
“One thing that we&#8217;ve advocated for is if you appropriate those CSR subsidies, which is one of the twin pillars of the subsidy structure from the ACA, you&#8217;ll reduce premiums by 10 to 15%,” he explained. “Two, you&#8217;ll lower federal spending by about $30 billion. You&#8217;ll give patients more power and choice. And we think with that power and choice, you&#8217;ll also have the effect of them being better shoppers, and that will lead to more competition and choice.”
“So one thing that you could do is appropriate those CSR subsidies, and instead of giving those CSRs straight to the insurance company, you can give those to people in an HSA, where they can have more power to shop around for more valued services or better-priced services,” he elaborated. “Again, you’ll have the twin effects of lowering premiums, lowering federal spending, and empowering patients, which we think is sort of a triple winner.”

President Donald Trump told McDonald&#8217;s franchise owners on Monday night that his 2024 election victory was vital to the U.S. economy, touting his push to lower prices.
Trump opened his <a href="https://www.c-span.org/program/white-house-event/president-trump-speaks-at-the-mcdonalds-impact-summit/669162">remarks</a> at the 2025 McDonald&#8217;s &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-to-address-mcdonalds-franchise-owners-as-he-focuses-on-driving-down-food-costs?author=Zach+Jewell&amp;category=undefined&amp;elementPosition=7&amp;row=3&amp;rowHeadline=Latest+News&amp;rowType=Vertical+Carousel&amp;title=Trump+To+Address+McDonald%E2%80%99s+Franchise+Owners+As+He+Focuses+On+Driving+Down+Food+Costs">Impact Summit</a>&#8221; in Washington, D.C., by referring to a 2024 campaign stop that helped fuel his election victory, when he handed out orders to customers at a McDonald&#8217;s in Pennsylvania.
&#8220;I&#8217;m honored to stand before you as the very first former McDonald&#8217;s fry cook ever to become president of the United States,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;And I actually was there for about 30 minutes, and that was 30 minutes longer than Kamala [Harris] was there, despite her job at McDonald&#8217;s. That didn&#8217;t work out too well.&#8221;
The summit also featured speeches from Democratic politicians, such as New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Rep. Pete Aguilar of California, and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The event provided Trump with an opportunity to push forward the administration&#8217;s refocused efforts to address economic issues.
During his speech, Trump argued that under former President Joe Biden, &#8220;Welfare was going up &#8230; government jobs were going up, real jobs were going down.&#8221;
&#8220;You would&#8217;ve had a catastrophe,&#8221; he added. &#8220;You probably would&#8217;ve had a bankrupt country. You are so damn lucky that I won that election, I&#8217;m telling you.&#8221;
Trump acknowledged that &#8220;there&#8217;s still a lot of work to do&#8221; in his effort to boost the economy and help businesses, but argued that America is already in a &#8220;golden age.&#8221;
&#8220;Because we are doing better than we&#8217;ve ever done as a country,&#8221; the president added. &#8220;Prices are coming down and all of that stuff. &#8230; Nobody has done what we&#8217;ve done in terms of pricing. We took over a mess.&#8221;

The president said that inflation remains one of the issues that his administration would continue to address. Trump said he would like to see inflation drop &#8220;a little bit lower,&#8221; as the White House seeks to address Americans&#8217; lingering economic concerns.
&#8220;We have it down to a low level, but we&#8217;re going to get it a little bit lower. We want perfection,&#8221; Trump said.
Year-over-year <a href="https://www.bls.gov/charts/consumer-price-index/consumer-price-index-by-category-line-chart.htm">inflation</a> sits at 3% as of the latest update. It has hovered at fairly low levels — between 2.5% and 3.5% — throughout Trump&#8217;s second term, but Americans continue to see the prices of some food items increase. Ground beef, for example, shot up 13.5% from last year. The prices of imported foods, such as bananas, avocados, and coffee, have also increased due to Trump&#8217;s so-called reciprocal tariffs, which he imposed on nearly every country worldwide.
The Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-rolls-back-tariffs-on-dozens-of-food-imports-heres-what-will-be-affected">acknowledged</a> last week that some tariffs on food are negatively affecting Americans and moved to roll back tariffs on numerous food items, including beef, coffee, tea, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, and tropical fruits and fruit juices. During his speech on Monday night, however, Trump argued that his tariffs are an overall benefit to the United States.
&#8220;We have over $17 trillion being invested in our country in nine months. It&#8217;s now just about ready to crack $18 [trillion], and by the end of one year, we will have about $20 to $21 trillion invested in our country,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;That&#8217;s more [than] 10 times the highest amount ever invested in any country ever before, and it&#8217;s largely because of tariffs.&#8221;
Trump thanked McDonald&#8217;s for working to lower its prices, but many Americans have complained that the fast-food giant&#8217;s prices have continued to rise. According to The Economist’s “<a href="https://www.economist.com/interactive/big-mac-index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Big Mac Index</a>,&#8221; McDonald’s prices have increased in recent months, with the average cost of the chain’s signature Big Mac jumping to $6.01 as of July, which was up from $5.69 at the same time last year. Trump suggested that he would speak at the summit next year if the company gets prices &#8220;down enough.&#8221;
&#8220;And I want to give a very special thanks to McDonald&#8217;s for slashing prices for your most popular items, bringing back extra value meals. And I hear you&#8217;re recommitting to the affordable options of Americans that we really know and love, all of the items that we love,&#8221; Trump said, adding, &#8220;We&#8217;re getting prices down for this country and there&#8217;s no better leader or advocate than McDonald&#8217;s and I believe the next time I&#8217;ll have to be back here again next year if you get them down enough.&#8221;

President Donald Trump on Sunday night called for House Republicans to back a vote compelling the Justice Department to release all files connected to convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump’s call comes just days after he directed the Justice Department to investigate Epstein’s connections to powerful Democrats like former President Bill Clinton. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) expects a vote this week on a bill that, if approved, would release the Epstein files. If passed in the House, the proposal would need 60 votes in the Senate to advance to Trump&#8217;s desk. 
“As I said on Friday night aboard Air Force One to the Fake News Media, House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics in order to deflect from the Great Success of the Republican Party, including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown,’” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/115562626931599548">wrote</a> on Truth Social. 
Trump said that the Justice Department had already turned over tens of pages of documents related to Epstein to the public and said that the House Oversight Committee could have access to whatever documents it was legally entitled to. 
“Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and, if the Democrats had anything, they would have released it before our Landslide Election Victory,” Trump added. “Some ‘members’ of the Republican Party are being &#8216;used,&#8217; and we can’t let that happen. Let’s start talking about the Republican Party’s Record Setting Achievements, and not fall into the Epstein ‘TRAP,’ which is actually a curse on the Democrats, not us.”

Rather than dwelling on Epstein, Trump said Republicans should focus on the economy, tax cuts, the trillions in pledged investment, and his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration. In recent months, Trump has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-rips-epstein-hoax-as-victims-rally-to-demand-transparency">expressed frustration</a> with questions about Epstein. 
Last week, Democrats <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dems-drop-new-epstein-emails-in-which-he-claims-trump-knew-about-the-girls">released</a> multiple Epstein emails, including correspondence in which the pedophile claimed that Trump “knew about the girls” and “spent hours” at Epstein’s home with one of the sexual abuser’s victims. The House GOP Oversight Committee released an additional 20,000 pages of documents on Wednesday, and the White House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-responds-to-epstein-emails-dropped-by-dems-says-its-an-attempt-to-deflect-from-shutdown">said</a> that the contents confirmed that Trump did not take part in Epstein’s sex crimes.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that the unnamed victim in the emails was the late Virginia Giuffre, who never accused Trump of any wrongdoing.

Over the last month or so, Greene has publicly attacked Trump for supposedly being &#8220;America Last&#8221; and spending too much time tending to global matters. She&#8217;s also claimed the president has made missteps when it comes to documents concerning late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In Trump&#8217;s Friday post, he referred to Greene as &#8220;&#8216;wacky&#8217; Marjorie&#8221; and a &#8220;ranting Lunatic&#8221; who turned on him publicly after he stopped taking most of her calls and sent her a poll showing how poorly she&#8217;d fare if she were to run for the Senate or to be Georgia&#8217;s governor.
As for Greene, she claims the fallout is because she&#8217;s remained &#8220;America First&#8221; and the president has not. She also claimed on Saturday that she&#8217;s being victimized by Trump, comparing the fear she feels to female victims of Epstein.
&#8220;I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,&#8221; MTG said. &#8220;The man I supported and helped get elected.&#8221;

President Donald Trump believes Democrats are reviving attention on Jeffrey Epstein to distract from the party’s recent government shutdown failure. Now, the president is directing his own focus toward Epstein, calling out prominent Democrats who had ties to the convicted sex offender.
Trump directed the Department of Justice on Friday to investigate Epstein&#8217;s connections to a list of powerful Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton, former U.S. Treasury Secretary and Harvard President Larry Summers, and venture capitalist Reid Hoffman. Trump compared the Democratic Party&#8217;s focus on Epstein to the Russian collusion investigation during his first administration, arguing that all the &#8220;arrows&#8221; are &#8220;pointing to the Democrats.&#8221;
&#8220;Now that the Democrats are using the Epstein Hoax, involving Democrats, not Republicans, to try and deflect from their disastrous SHUTDOWN, and all of their other failures, I will be asking A.G. Trump also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-responds-to-epstein-emails-dropped-by-dems-says-its-an-attempt-to-deflect-from-shutdown">responded</a> to the Epstein email dump, saying on Wednesday that &#8220;Democrats are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done on the Shutdown.&#8221; He added, &#8220;Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap.&#8221;
Clinton&#8217;s association with Epstein is well documented, but — like Trump — the former president has not been accused of any wrongdoing related to Epstein&#8217;s crimes. Clinton traveled across the world with Epstein numerous times, with flight records indicating that the former president was on Epstein&#8217;s infamous “Lolita Express,” the airplane on which Epstein is accused of using to sex traffic underage girls. In 2002, Clinton was also <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/fact-check-2002-pic-epstein-195200112.html">pictured</a> getting a massage from one of Epstein&#8217;s accusers, then-22-year-old Chauntae Davies. Davies accused Epstein of raping her multiple times over the course of four years. She did not accuse Clinton of any wrongdoing.
Summers also had a good relationship with Epstein, as did financial power player Hoffman. None of those men has been publicly accused by any of the women who were victimized by Epstein. Summers and Epstein communicated regularly throughout the years, and the latest Epstein email dump revealed that Summers <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/11/12/us/politics/epstein-larry-summers.html">asked</a> Epstein for advice about a relationship with a woman after Epstein had pleaded guilty to state-level prostitution charges.
Hoffman <a href="https://www.axios.com/2019/09/12/reid-hoffman-jeffrey-epstein-mit-donations">admitted</a> in 2019 that his relationship with Epstein and his agreement to participate in a fundraising event alongside him &#8220;helped to repair [Epstein&#8217;s] reputation and perpetuate injustice.&#8221;
&#8220;For this, I am deeply regretful,&#8221; Hoffman added.
J.P. Morgan Chase, one of the world&#8217;s largest banks, has faced scrutiny after <a href="https://docs.house.gov/meetings/JU/JU00/20250917/118612/HHRG-119-JU00-20250917-SD055-U55.pdf">processing and handling</a> more than $1 billion for Epstein over the course of 15 years. JPMorgan agreed to a $290 million settlement with Epstein&#8217;s victims in 2023 after it was accused of ignoring red flags about Epstein&#8217;s sex trafficking.

The BBC issued an official apology to President Donald Trump on Thursday for a misleading edit of his January 6 speech, though it rejected his allegation of defamation.
In its apology, the BBC admitted to splicing together portions of Trump’s January 6 speech in a way that made it appear that he was calling for violence. The apology comes after Trump threatened to file a $1 billion defamation suit against the media outlet over its “Trump: A Second Chance?” documentary broadcast by BBC Panorama. 
“This program was reviewed after criticism of how President Donald Trump’s 6th January 2021 speech was edited,” the outlet said in a statement on its Corrections and Clarification page. “During that sequence, we showed excerpts taken from different parts of the speech. However, we accept that our edit unintentionally created the impression that we were showing a single continuous section of the speech, rather than excerpts from different points in the speech, and that this gave the mistaken impression that President Trump had made a direct call for violent action.”
“The BBC would like to apologize to President Trump for that error of judgement. This programme was not scheduled to be re-broadcast and will not be broadcast again in this form on any BBC platforms,” it added. 
In a separate letter to the White House, BBC Chair Samir Shah again apologized to Trump. 
&#8220;While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim,” he <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c874nw4g2zzo">said</a>. 
For the last week, the BBC has been roiled over the controversy, with two executives <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bbc-execs-resign-after-j6-doc-twists-trump-footage-out-of-context">announcing</a> their resignation on Sunday over the incident and a leaked internal memo discussing problems of “systematic bias” at the outlet. 
&#8220;Like all public organizations, the BBC is not perfect, and we must always be open, transparent and accountable,” said Tim Davie, one of the executives who stepped down last weekend. “While not being the only reason, the current debate around BBC News has understandably contributed to my decision. Overall the BBC is delivering well, but there have been some mistakes made and as director general I have to take ultimate responsibility.”
In a separate <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/11/13/bbc-doctored-trump-speech-second-time-newsnight/">report</a> on Thursday, The Telegraph said that BBC Newsnight had edited Trump&#8217;s January 6 speech in a similar manner in a 2022 episode. A lawyer for Trump told The Telegraph that it was “now clear that BBC engaged in a pattern of defamation against President Trump.&#8221;
Trump has filed numerous lawsuits against news outlets over defamation allegations. In one instance, he was paid $15 million by ABC News after he sued the outlet over false claims made by anchor George Stephanopoulos.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced “Operation Southern Spear” on Thursday as tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela, and the U.S. and its European allies, mount over the Trump administration’s lethal strikes on drug traffickers.
Hegseth announced the new mission in a post on X. It was not immediately clear whether the operation is a new label on the ongoing operations against drug cartels in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean, or whether it represents some expanded operation in the administration’s efforts against the cartels.
“Led by Joint Task Force Southern Spear and [U.S. Southern Command], this mission defends our Homeland, removes narco-terrorists from our Hemisphere, and secures our Homeland from the drugs that are killing our people. The Western Hemisphere is America’s neighborhood – and we will protect it,” Hegseth <a href="https://x.com/SecWar/status/1989094923497316430">said</a>.
The War secretary said that the operation was ordered by President Donald Trump.
The operations announcement comes as tensions have flared this week between Washington and Caracas. Earlier this week, Venezuela <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/maduro-orders-massive-military-mobilization-as-u-s-carrier-group-nears-venezuela">announced</a> a “massive mobilization” of its military and held drills on Wednesday that involved an estimated 200,000 soldiers. Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López said the military exercises were in response to the “imperialist threat” from the United States.
Venezuela’s show of force came as the USS Gerald R Ford and other vessels arrived in the region after the aircraft carrier was repositioned to the Caribbean Sea. The Ford is the United States&#8217; largest and most technologically advanced warship.
The Trump administration has positioned U.S. military assets in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean to cut off water routes used by drug cartels to ship deadly chemicals into the United States. The U.S. military has destroyed around 20 boats and submarines that it said were trafficking drugs such as fentanyl and cocaine.
In response, some officials in Europe have been critical of the U.S. strikes, accusing the United States of violating “international law.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/marco-rubio-rips-eu-critics-who-claim-drug-boat-strikes-violate-international-law">responded</a> to those complaints on Wednesday.
“I do find it interesting that all these countries want us to send and supply, for example, nuclear-capable Tomahawk missiles to defend Europe, but when the United States positions aircraft carriers in our hemisphere, where we live, somehow that’s a problem?” said Rubio. “I would say that the United States and this president has made very clear his job is to protect the United States from threats against the United States, and that is what he is doing in this operation.”
