A Biden-Harris official told a journalist that “no one is listening” to President Joe Biden even though he is the current commander-in-chief.
The unnamed official reportedly told this to Axios reporter Alex Thompson in response to Biden’s comments at a campaign event about locking up former President Donald Trump, who is currently running against Vice President Kamala Harris – the woman who replaced Biden at the top of the ticket.

Biden said during a campaign event on Tuesday in Concord, New Hampshire, that Trump should be in prison because of the alleged threat he poses to the country, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-on-trump-we-gotta-lock-him-up" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

Democrat prosecutors in New York have brought politically motivated charges against Trump, resulting in Trump being <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-trump-found-guilty-on-all-charges-in-hush-money-case" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted</a> on 34 charges. In order to bring the charges, leftist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg had to reinterpret existing law to find a crime to charge Trump with. Just weeks before the 2024 election, President Joe Biden has announced his administration will be canceling another $4.5 billion in student debt.
Biden made the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/10/17/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-student-debt-cancellation-for-over-1-million-public-service-workers-under-the-biden-harris-administration/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> on Thursday, saying the newly canceled debt was for more than 60,000 public service workers. Biden noted that the latest round of debt forgiveness brings the total number of Americans who have had their student debt canceled under this administration to more than 1 million.
“Public service workers – teachers, nurses, firefighters, and more – are the bedrocks of our communities and our country,” Biden said. “They dedicate their careers to giving back to others, and were given the promise of student debt forgiveness after 10 years of public service and 10 years of payments under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. But for too long, the government failed to live up to its commitments, and only 7,000 people had ever received forgiveness under Public Service Loan Forgiveness before Vice President Harris and I took office.”
The announcement comes as Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be struggling in the polls in the weeks before the election, and the day after her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ben-shapiro-breaks-down-kamala-harris-fox-news-interview-full-scale-disaster" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disastrous interview</a> with Fox News&#8217; Bret Baier.

Biden’s student loan forgiveness has not fared well in the courts, with the Supreme Court in August rejecting the administration’s “request to get rid of an injunction from an appeals court that put a hold on the administration’s SAVE plan, which would exempt student loan borrowers’ income from their repayment obligation,” The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/scotus-rejects-biden-harris-again-on-student-loan-cancellation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> at the time.
The Supreme Court had previously struck down Biden’s student loan forgiveness program in 2023, but Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-ignores-supreme-court-cancels-another-74000-student-loans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ignored that ruling</a>.
Biden previously announced in April that he was forgiving student loan debt for more than 30 million borrowers – after poll numbers showed he was doing poorly with young voters, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-again-tries-to-win-over-young-voters-with-new-student-loan-bailout" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Of course, loan “forgiveness,” doesn’t just erase the loans, it passes them on to taxpayers who are then forced to foot the bill for people who went to college, many of whom are gainfully employed as doctors and lawyers. The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/walsh-six-reasons-why-student-loan-forgiveness-matt-walsh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explained</a> why shifting the debt burden was a “financially disastrous and morally abominable idea.”
“It is extraordinarily unjust to the working class. Many blue collar people are living on lower wages because they couldn’t afford to go to college. They chose the responsible route, stayed within their means, avoided buying something they couldn’t pay for, and accepted a humbler lifestyle as a result,” Walsh wrote. “…It turns out they could have just gone to college, taken out the loan, and never paid it back. Student loan forgiveness rewards irresponsibility and punishes responsibility.”
Further, Walsh explained, the cancelation hurts those who actually did pay back their loans and completely upends the legal contracts these students signed.
“If you have student debt, you agreed to it. You signed on the dotted line. You made a legal arrangement,” Walsh wrote. “It does not make moral or logical sense for a third party to enter the picture and say, ‘You don’t have to fulfill your obligations and keep your promises.’”

Tensions have grown between members of Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign and the Biden White House just weeks before Election Day.
One of the biggest points of contention between the two camps is President Joe Biden’s praise and discussions with Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis following two major hurricanes, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/10/13/kamala-harris-biden-campaign-tension" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. A Harris campaign staffer told the outlet that the “White House is lacking someone in the room thinking first and foremost about how things would affect the campaign.”
The issue stems from early last week when Harris attempted to insert herself into hurricane relief operations by attacking DeSantis for purportedly not taking her phone call. Harris had called DeSantis “utterly irresponsible” and “selfish” even though disaster had just struck Florida and the vice president had no role in disaster relief, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-knifes-kamala-for-trying-to-lead-hurricane-response-desantis-doing-a-great-job" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> at the time.
Shortly after, Biden’s social media team <a href="https://x.com/POTUS/status/1843463258734301475?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">posted on X</a> to say that the president was working with DeSantis.
“Tonight, I spoke with Florida Governor DeSantis and Tampa Mayor Castor for firsthand reports on Hurricane Helene recovery and preparations for Hurricane Milton,” the post said. “My Administration is ready to support both leaders and the people of Florida with any further resources they may need.”
DeSantis also pushed back on Harris’ claims about a phone call, saying he had never received calls from her before and she had never been involved in any of his administration’s disaster response efforts previously. He added that she had “no role” in the process and wasn’t even in the chain of command on the issue.
The day after Biden’s post on X, Harris appeared on “The View” for a softball interview, but Biden decided to appear at a press conference at the same time. During that press conference, Biden discussed his work with DeSantis on hurricane relief efforts.
“The governor of Florida has been cooperative. He said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday, and I said, ‘You’re doing a great job. It’s being all being done. We thank you for it. And I literally gave my personal phone number to call,” Biden said.
During that press conference, Biden also undermined Harris’ campaign message of being a change candidate, saying she was directly connected to all of his policy decisions.
“Well, she’s — I’m in constant contact with her,” Biden said. “She’s aware of where — we all — we’re singing from the same song sheet. She helped pass all the laws that are being employed now.”
“She was a major player in everything we’ve done, including passage of legislation, which we were told we could never pass,” he continued. “And so, she’s been — and her — her staff is interlocked with mine in terms of all the things we’re doing.”
The tensions between Biden and Harris emerged after Democrats pushed Biden to drop out of his re-election bid and inserted Harris as the nominee in order to keep the campaign cash Biden raised.

Former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump&#8217;s</a> campaign is requesting military assets to protect him in the final weeks of the campaign after receiving intelligence briefings from U.S. officials about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/iran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Iran&#8217;s</a> continued efforts to assassinate him.
The campaign has requested &#8220;sophisticated, classified military assets that are used only for sitting presidents; the pre-placement of ballistic, or bullet-resistant, glass in the main battleground states where he would be campaigning most frequently; and an expansion of temporary flight restrictions over Mr. Trump’s residences and campaign sites,&#8221; The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/11/us/politics/trump-campaign-security.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
The requests come after Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/journalist-captures-photo-of-bullet-whizzing-past-trumps-head-after-it-hit-his-ear" target="_blank" rel="noopener">narrowly</a> escaped death when he was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July.
There was also a plot from the Iranian government that was foiled in July when a Pakistani national was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-arrest-pakistani-man-with-ties-to-iran-for-alleged-plot-to-kill-trump-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">arrested</a> in the U.S. for an alleged murder-for-hire scheme to kill the former president.
He was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/authorities-release-new-info-about-assassination-attempt-on-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nearly shot at</a> again while playing golf at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach in September.
The campaign has been hampered by the Secret Service&#8217;s inability to provide the necessary level of protection at all campaign events, which has led the campaign to have to cancel some events.
President Joe Biden said on Friday that Trump should receive the same level of protection that he does.
“I’ve told the department to give him every single thing he needs … as he were a sitting president,” Biden said. “If it fits into that category, that’s fine.”
Former U.S. officials <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/11/trump-security-threats-iran-election-2024-campaign/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> The Washington Post that it would be &#8220;extraordinary&#8221; for the Secret Service to provide military assets to protect Trump. The Post noted that Trump&#8217;s opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, &#8220;receives protection from the U.S. Marines as vice president and flies on Air Force Two, which is a military airplane.&#8221;
The newspaper seemingly acknowledged that the administration would loath to give Trump military protection because it could help him politically.
&#8220;If the administration granted such assets, it would give Trump a distinct look in the final months that no challenger has ever had — and would remind voters visually, every day, that he is under threat,&#8221; the report said.

The Biden-Harris DOJ&#8217;s Department of Civil Rights on Friday filed suit against <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/indiana" target="_blank" rel="noopener">South Bend, Indiana</a>, for alleged sex and racial discrimination.
According to the <a href="https://www.justice.gov/crt/media/1373236/dl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lawsuit</a>, fewer black and female police applicants are passing the written exam and fitness test, respectively, than white males. The DOJ claims that&#8217;s due to discriminatory tests, which allegedly violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
The DOJ &#8220;alleges that South Bend uses a written examination that discriminates against Black applicants and a physical fitness test that discriminates against female applicants,&#8221; a press release from the department <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-south-bend-indiana-discriminating-against-black-and-female-police" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Notably, the South Bend Police Department <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2024/10/11/biden-doj-sues-south-bend-police-test/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lowered</a> their fitness standards in 2019 in an attempt to include more females on the force. However, women are continuing to fail the test at greater rates than their male counterparts, The Daily Caller reported.
&#8220;Equal employment opportunity is critical to ensuring that law enforcement agencies do not unfairly exclude otherwise eligible job applicants based on discriminatory practices,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said.
“Discriminatory barriers that deny qualified Black and female applicants the opportunity to be police officers violate civil rights and undermine public safety efforts,&#8221; she added. &#8220;The Justice Department is committed to equal access to employment opportunities in the policing sector so that all qualified applicants have a fair chance to protect and serve their communities.”
“I am beyond disappointed that the DOJ has not been forthcoming with how these claims were determined in the first place,” South Bend Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski told The Daily Caller about the DOJ&#8217;s suit. “Our hiring process, which includes females and African American applicants, has been consistent over the last ten years and led to an increasingly diverse department, especially over the past several years.”
“We have even asked the outside testing company to modify the written test to open the process to more applicants,” Ruszowksi added. “All requirements are listed online and meet State mandates, and more importantly, meet what our community expects in a professional police officer.”
Harris, the Democrats&#8217; 2024 presidential nominee, has repeatedly promoted so-called equity, meaning certain people, usually based on immutable qualities like race or sex, should be given extra resources or advantages with the goal of equal outcomes.
Alternatively, folks on the Right advocate for equality, which generally means providing everyone the same opportunities.

But he did go that far. Grinning ear to ear, Biden popped the &#8220;Trump 2024&#8221; cap on his head, sparking a viral photo and endless memes on social media.
Some observers wondered if the president&#8217;s cheeky move — a bad look for the party as Biden&#8217;s own vice president campaigned against former President Donald Trump — was more than a light-hearted moment. It&#8217;s seeming more and more like they may have been onto something.
In the chaotic weeks leading up to the election, Biden, who was unceremoniously dumped from the presidential ticket, has made several moves that appear to subtly undermine Vice President Kamala Harris as she remains locked in a nail biter race against Trump.
The speculation around Biden&#8217;s motives began with the Trump hat incident during the president&#8217;s September 11 visit to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Biden himself asked for the man&#8217;s Trump cap before putting it on to applause from the crowd.
Last Friday, Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-appears-to-sabotage-kamalas-rally-by-holding-press-event-right-as-she-takes-stage">joined</a> the White House press briefing — an unusual move for him — at the exact moment Harris stepped on stage for a campaign rally in Michigan. This forced television networks to cut away from Harris&#8217; rally and cover him instead.
Then at the briefing, Biden made it harder for Harris to squirm away from his administration&#8217;s record as she attempts to run as the candidate of change.

As hurricane season got underway, Harris slammed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for not taking her phone calls about the impending storm, calling him “utterly irresponsible” and “selfish” and accusing him of playing political games. DeSantis pushed back, saying he was not aware of any calls from Harris and that she has &#8220;no role&#8221; in Florida&#8217;s hurricane response.
Biden posted a photo of himself next to a phone and said he had spoken to both DeSantis and the Tampa mayor about recovery from Hurricane Helene and preparations for Hurricane Milton.

Biden further undermined Harris&#8217; criticism of the governor on Tuesday, saying DeSantis had been &#8220;cooperative&#8221; and was &#8220;doing a great job.&#8221;
The president may have hampered his former running mate yet again leading up to last week&#8217;s massive dock worker strike on the East Coast that snarled supply chains and threatened to tank the economy.
Biden held firm in saying he would not step in and pause the strike, something he could have done under the Taft-Hartley Act. Harris later expressed support for the strike. Biden and Harris may have simply been a united front focused on courting the union vote, but Biden&#8217;s refusal to step in nevertheless limited Harris&#8217; options to save the economy weeks out from the election.
Meanwhile, Harris has struggled to win over voters with her economic message, and polls show voters prefer Trump on the economy.

On Tuesday, as Harris appeared on ABC News&#8217; &#8220;The View&#8221; for a softball interview, Biden delivered remarks to the media about his work on the hurricane with DeSantis.

During the press briefing last week where he overshadowed Harris&#8217; campaign rally, Biden made it clear that there was no daylight between him and Harris when it came to the administration&#8217;s record — which Harris is desperately trying to avoid being connected to.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was promoted to senior adviser to the president on Monday with just over three months remaining in President Joe Biden&#8217;s term in the White House, according to <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/white-house-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-promoted/story?id=114546837" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ABC News</a>.
Jean-Pierre, who began serving as press secretary on May 13, 2022, will now join the innermost circle of Biden&#8217;s advisers, which includes Mike Donilon, Steve Richetti, and Bruce Reed. Along with serving as senior adviser to Biden, Jean-Pierre will continue her press secretary duties.
&#8220;Karine has been a trusted advisor to the President and all of us here at the White House since day one. Her counsel will be critical to get as much done as possible for the American people in the coming months,&#8221; said White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, ABC News reported.
Upon being tapped by Biden to take over as press secretary in 2022, Jean-Pierre, 50, was praised in the media for being the first black woman and the first openly gay person to become the White House press secretary. Jean-Pierre was part of the Biden-Harris 2020 campaign, serving as <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/harris-chief-staff-karine-jean-pierre-how-biden-win-could-n1237180" target="_blank" rel="noopener">chief of staff</a> for Kamala Harris. She also worked for former President Barack Obama&#8217;s campaign and in the Obama administration.
Jean-Pierre has frequently been slammed by conservatives, especially after facing questions from Fox News&#8217; Peter Doocy in the briefing room. Trump Jr. and others took to social media following reports on Friday in outlets like <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4917021-harris-call-her-daddy-podcast/">The Hill</a> that Harris had sat for an interview on Tuesday with Alex Cooper for her popular podcast to talk about abortion, per the campaign, set to air sometime next week, while the death toll was climbing across the southeastern states of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.

Another person wrote, “While the death toll in North Carolina continues to rise, residents see their family members hanging in trees, and aid is actively being blocked by FEMA, Kamala Harris decided to film an episode of &#8216;Call Her Daddy&#8217; Call Her Daddy is primarily a sex and relationship podcast.”

This is an infamous Podcast where Promiscuous Women talk about their scandalous activities. This Podcast took place two days ago amidst The Hurricane Helene Disaster, when The Death Toll was sharply increasing, and still is.”

“The Presidential Candidate is going on a Podcast to talk about how she’s going to change The Country when an incident is happening RIGHT NOW. She’s still in Office and is UNWILLING to help,” the person added. “It’s over. She’s lost Americans who are paying attention. You have shown you DO NOT CARE about We The People.”
As others noted, on the same day Harris did the interview on the sex and relationship podcast, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/helene-asheville-north-carolina-c5ff143de63e31bd345066221f5e4d24">Associated Press</a> had reported the widespread destruction of the hurricane.
It also reported that at least <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/devastating-flooding-from-helene-besets-north-carolinas-asheville-local-death-toll-reaches-30">30 people had been killed</a> in the county where Asheville, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/north-carolina">North Carolina</a>, is located, and efforts to provide relief to flooded areas were ongoing, with cadaver dogs being called in to help find bodies.
On Monday, former President Donald Trump visited Georgia, touring the damaged areas and calling attention to the destruction and help people need. President Joe Biden and Harris did not visit the area until Wednesday.
As of Friday, <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/weather/live-blog/hurricane-helene-live-updates-rcna173973">NBC</a> reported that more than 200 people had lost their lives in the hurricane and communities were still without power a week later.

CNN reported live on air that they were preparing to switch their coverage to Harris&#8217; rally in Michigan right when Biden decided to walk out, unscheduled, and take over the White House press briefing.
The network said that Biden was &#8220;clearly overshadowing&#8221; Harris.
The Trump campaign said that Harris took the stage in Detroit at 2:04 p.m. EST and that Biden entered the briefing room two minutes later at 2:06 p.m. EST.

The incident comes as reports have surfaced stating that Biden is surprised, even miffed, that his party and its media organs have moved past his presidency to focus on Harris.
Biden also has reportedly taken issue with Harris saying during her debate with former President Donald Trump that she is &#8220;clearly &#8230; not Joe Biden.&#8221;

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alejandro-mayorkas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alejandro Mayorkas</a> faced renewed scrutiny this week over remarks that he made earlier this year about FEMA being prepared for natural disasters in the wake of Hurricane Helene devastating large swaths of the southeastern United States.
Mayorkas claimed in remarks to reporters from July that FEMA was &#8220;tremendously prepared.&#8221;
&#8220;This is what we do, this is what they do, and the key here … is to also make sure the communities who are potentially impacted are prepared as well,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And it’s not just hurricanes and wildfires – also extreme heat, which certainly some parts of the United States are experiencing.&#8221;
He claimed that FEMA was well prepared because it had &#8220;exercised these muscles, regrettably, year after year&#8221; due to what he claimed were increasing weather-related events.
However, Mayorkas claimed to reporters this week that FEMA was now running out of money and did not have the resources to make it to the end of the season.
&#8220;We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,&#8221; he claimed. &#8220;We are expecting another hurricane hitting. FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season.&#8221;

The Biden-Harris administration has faced significant criticism over its bungled response to Hurricane Helene.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said this week that when the administration released the original emergency declaration, they only included 11 counties when there were 90 that needed it.
“So we called the White House. We spoke to the president’s chief of staff, the FEMA administrator, and said, look, you’re sending the signal that you’re not paying attention to some of these rural communities,” he said.
Kemp said that the administration added some more counties to the list, but the number was still less than half of the counties that needed federal assistance.

President Joe Biden appeared confused Thursday when asked by a reporter about aid to states hit by a massive hurricane despite the president having just spent the day in the storm zone.

At least 215 people are dead and hundreds more are missing in the aftermath of the hurricane, which made landfall in Florida a week ago.
Photos and videos of Asheville and other areas show houses and cars underwater and wreckage trapping people from coming in and out. In the days after the storm, tragic stories came to light. One Asheville family, a couple in their 70s and their six-year-old grandson <a href="https://www.fox4news.com/news/helene-aftermath-social-media-pleas-turn-tragic-death-toll-climbs.amp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">drowned</a> after the roof they were on collapsed while the boy&#8217;s mother survived wedged between objects nearby.

Biden announced Thursday that up to 1,000 active-duty soldiers would join the North Carolina National Guard in delivering food, water, and supplies to communities cut off by the storm.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Thursday that the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) has funding for immediate needs but will run out before the end of the hurricane season. FEMA has requested more money from Congress, he said.
Vice President Kamala Harris said FEMA has been providing $750 to people for &#8220;immediate needs&#8221; like baby formula.
The Biden administration&#8217;s response to the storm has sparked anger among critics, who pointed out that FEMA <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-rips-into-kamala-for-spending-fema-money-on-housing-for-illegal-migrants" target="_blank" rel="noopener">spent</a> $1.4 billion on housing illegal migrants over the last two years.
