President Donald Trump signed an executive order late Thursday evening, raising the tariff on Canadian imports to 35% effective at midnight, while granting Mexico another 90 days to negotiate a trade deal with the United States.
The actions come as the August 1 deadline arrived for countries with trade deficits with the United States to reach new trade agreements, but Trump said they won&#8217;t take effect until August 7 for most nations. In a Truth Social post, Trump praised ongoing talks with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, while he ripped Canada for failing to crack down on drug trafficking. Trump also said that he would not raise tariffs on Mexico beyond current levels for 90 days.
“I have just concluded a telephone conversation with the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, which was very successful in that, more and more, we are getting to know and understand each other. The complexities of a Deal with Mexico are somewhat different than other Nations because of both the problems, and assets, of the Border,” Trump posted on Truth Social Thursday night. “We have agreed to extend, for a 90 Day period, the exact same Deal as we had for the last short period of time.”
The current deal hits Mexico, America&#8217;s top trading partner, with a 25% tariff imposed because of fentanyl trafficking over the southern U.S. border, a 25% tariff on vehicles, and a 50% tariff on steel, aluminum, and copper. 
“Additionally, Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate its Non Tariff Trade Barriers, of which there were many. We will be talking to Mexico over the next 90 Days with the goal of signing a Trade Deal somewhere within the 90 Day period of time, or longer,” Trump added. “There will be continued cooperation on the Border as it relates to all aspects of Security, including Drugs, Drug Distribution, and Illegal Immigration into the United States.”
Trump said that Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other top administration officials were all present for the call with Mexico. 
In Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/07/amendment-to-duties-to-address-the-flow-of-illicit-drugs-across-our-northern-border-9350/">executive order</a>, Trump justified raising the tariff on Canadian goods, citing the country&#8217;s “failure to devote satisfactory resources to arrest, seize, detain, or otherwise intercept drug trafficking organizations, other drug or human traffickers, criminals at large, and illicit drugs.” 
That announcement came after Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-warns-canada-backing-palestinian-state-could-damage-u-s-trade-deal?author=Leif+Le+Mahieu&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Trump+Warns+Canada%3A+Backing+Palestinian+State+Could+Damage+U.S.+Trade+Deal">said</a> that it would be difficult to make a trade deal with Canada if it moved forward with a plan from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to recognize a Palestinian state. 
“Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!” Trump said. 
More than a dozen countries are facing tariffs ranging from 19% to 41% when they take effect on August 7. All countries across the board will pay a baseline 10% tariff under the White House plan. Separate negotiations with China, another one of America&#8217;s largest trading partners, are ongoing.

President Donald Trump attacked Senate Democrats on Thursday for slow-walking nominees to serve in his administration.
“This is what the Democrats are doing to our Nation!” Trump wrote in a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114950241999184378">post</a> on Truth Social, sharing a graphic showing that in his second term, none of Trump’s civilian nominees have been approved by either voice vote or unanimous consent.
The graphic compares Trump’s second term to his first, in which 65% were fast-tracked for approval. The graphic also shows stats for former Presidents Joe Biden (57%), George W. Bush (90%), George H. W. Bush (98%), Bill Clinton (98%), and Barack Obama (90%).
“They are refusing to approve some of the best Nominees in the History of our Country. If we had George Washington and Abraham Lincoln lined up, they would do everything in their power to delay and disapprove,” Trump continued. “This should never be allowed to happen, and it has never happened before!”
The graphic came from the office of Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), who used the chart as a prop on Thursday while knocking Democrats in a speech on the Senate floor. Thune said that at the current pace Republicans are forced to work to confirm Trump’s nominees, the president’s administration will not be filled by the time he leaves office.
The current backlog on executive nominees is about 1,100, according to Thune.
“This isn&#8217;t sustainable. We can&#8217;t keep on this track,” said Thune. “This has got to change – and it will change. Either Democrats are going to play ball, or we&#8217;re going to figure out a way to change it.”
“I hope that my Democratic colleagues will come to the table. Otherwise, we&#8217;re going to be spending a whole lot more time here on the Senate floor,” he said.

The White House updated its tariff plan on Thursday evening hours before President Donald Trump’s deadline for new trade agreements was set to kick in.
The new <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/07/further-modifying-the-reciprocal-tariff-rates/">plan</a> pushes the implementation of tariffs back a week from August 1 to August 7 to give Customs and Border Patrol officials time to adjust to the new levies leveled at dozens of countries. The new plan also reveals a host of tariff rates that are set to kick in.
The 10% universal tariff will remain the floor for tariff rates for trade with the United States. Only countries that have a trade deficit with the United States – meaning they import more from the United States than they export – will receive the 10% tariff rates. For countries that have a trade surplus with the United States, their goods will be tariffed at least at 15%, according to the White House plan.
Other countries that have struck new trade agreements with the United States will have various tariff rates based on the terms of the agreement.
More than a dozen countries will face a higher tariff rate than 15%, ranging from 19% to 41%.
“President Trump is using tariffs as a necessary and powerful tool to put America First after many years of unsustainable trade deficits that threaten our economy and national security,” the White House said in a statement, according to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/business/live-news/trade-deadline-tariffs-trump-deals#cmds0clsz0000356toc8am68m">CNN</a>.
A senior administration official briefing reporters on the details of the plan on Thursday evening said that “the president has essentially reordered global trade,” according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/07/31/us/trump-news/8ca2d2ab-bb6b-5e71-b748-5ddfc556b984?smid=url-share">The New York Times</a>. The official added that Trump is accomplishing “the type of outcomes that the WTO and the multilateral trading system have failed to accomplish at scale over the last 25 years.”
Alongside its new tariff plan for international trade, the White House announced steeper tariffs on Canada. The Trump administration said in a statement that the United States would be “increasing the tariff on Canada from 25% to 35%, with the higher tariff set to go into effect on August 1, 2025.”
“Canada has failed to cooperate in curbing the ongoing flood of fentanyl and other illicit drugs, and it has retaliated against the United States for the President’s actions to address this unusual and extraordinary threat to the United States,” a White House fact sheet <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/07/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-amends-duties-to-address-the-flow-of-illicit-drugs-across-our-northern-border/">says</a>.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford hit back immediately at the White House announcement, urging Canada’s government to fight the tariff hike. “Canada shouldn’t settle for anything less than the right deal. Now is not the time to roll over. We need to stand our ground,” Ford said in a <a href="https://x.com/fordnation/status/1951059263943745566">post</a> on social media.

President Donald Trump sent letters to drug company CEOs demanding that they lower prices.
The letters, which Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114949049238065269">posted</a> to social media, say name-brand drug prices &#8220;are up to three times higher on average than anywhere else for identical medicines.&#8221;
&#8220;This unacceptable burden on hardworking American families ends with my Administration,&#8221; Trump said.
The letters were sent to 17 companies and are identical. They give companies 60 days to lower drug prices through most-favored-nation (MFN) pricing as explained in an executive order <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/delivering-most-favored-nation-prescription-drug-pricing-to-american-patients/">titled</a> &#8220;Delivering Most-Favored-Nation Prescription Drug Pricing to American Patients.&#8221;
The executive order, signed in May, orders companies to sell drugs in the United States for the same price charged in foreign countries, The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-signs-order-to-reduce-drug-prices-tells-rest-of-world-to-pay-up">reported</a>. The order says companies charge Americans more for drugs because &#8220;drug manufacturers deeply discount their products to access foreign markets, and subsidize that decrease through enormously high prices in the United States.&#8221;
Both the order and the letters direct companies to charge MFN prices in America.
Some of the companies that received letters include AbbVie, Eli Lilly and Company, Johnson and Johnson, Novartis, and Pfizer.
The letters tell companies to provide their &#8220;full portfolios&#8221; of drugs at MFN prices for Medicaid patients, guarantee MFN prices for new drugs, negotiate with &#8220;freeloading&#8221; nations to &#8220;return increased revenues&#8221; to American patients, and allow direct purchasing of drugs at MFN prices.
&#8220;Moving forward, the only thing I will accept from drug manufacturers is a commitment that provides American families immediate relief from the vastly inflated drug prices and an end to the free ride of American innovation by European and other developed nations,&#8221; Trump said in the letters.
Companies have until September 29 to implement Trump&#8217;s terms.
In May, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said other nations should chip in for research and development. He said raising prices in other nations by 20% would drastically reduce costs in the U.S.
Trump signed another executive order earlier in May to reduce the regulatory burden on the domestic production of critical medicines.
&#8220;[If] you refuse to step up, we will deploy every tool in our arsenal to protect American families from continued abusive drug pricing practices,&#8221; Trump said.
The other companies that received letters were Amgen, AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol Myers Squibb, EMD Serono, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, GSK, Merck, Novo Nordisk, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and Sanofi.

The Federal Reserve policymakers voted 9-2 on Wednesday to keep interest rates in the 4.25% to 4.50% range, even as Trump continues to push them to cut the rates, citing lower levels of inflation. During a press conference, Powell pointed to unease over Trump&#8217;s tariffs, many of which are set to take effect on Friday, along with inflation remaining above the Fed&#8217;s target annualized rate of 2% as reasons for the Fed&#8217;s decision.
Powell said that Trump’s increased tariffs “are pushing up prices in some categories of goods.” He added that policymakers “have made no decision” about where they will land at the next Fed meeting in September. Two Republican-appointed Fed Governors, Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman, <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2025/07/30/federal-reserve-interest-rate-cuts-live-updates/85430906007/">dissented</a> and pushed for the Fed to cut interest rates, marking the first time since 1993 that multiple governors opposed a Fed decision. Both Waller and Bowman are being floated as potential candidates for Trump to tap as a replacement for Powell as Fed Chair when Powell&#8217;s term ends in May 2026.

President Donald Trump said overnight that it would be difficult to make a trade deal with Canada if it moved forward with plans to recognize a Palestinian state. 
Trump made the comments after Canada declared that it would join France and the United Kingdom in pushing for the affirmation of Palestinian statehood. The announcement came two days before Canada could be slapped with a 35% tariff if it does not reach a trade agreement with the United States before Trump&#8217;s Friday deadline. 
“Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!” Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114945962278773358">posted</a> on Truth Social around midnight. 
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney released a <a href="https://www.pm.gc.ca/en/news/statements/2025/07/30/statement-prime-minister-carney-canadas-recognition-palestinian-state">statement</a> on Wednesday that said: &#8220;Canada intends to recognize the State of Palestine at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025.&#8221; 
“We reiterate that Hamas must immediately release all hostages taken in the horrific terrorist attack of October 7; that Hamas must disarm; and that Hamas must play no role in the future governance of Palestine,&#8221; Carney said. “Canada will always steadfastly support Israel’s existence as an independent state in the Middle East living in peace and security. Any path to lasting peace for Israel also requires a viable and stable Palestinian state, and one that recognizes Israel’s inalienable right to security and peace.”
On Tuesday, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-warns-against-rewarding-hamas-with-palestinian-statehood-bluntly-rejects-two-state-solution">dismissed</a> the idea of recognizing a Palestinian state, declaring that doing so would be equivalent to &#8220;rewarding&#8221; the Hamas terrorist group.
“Well, you could make the case that you’re rewarding people, that you’re rewarding Hamas if you do that,” Trump replied. “And I don’t think they should be rewarded. So I’m not in that camp, to be honest. We’ll let you know where we are, but I am not in that camp, because if you do that, you really are rewarding Hamas, and I’m not about to do that.”

A Senate panel on Wednesday advanced a bill that seeks to prohibit members of Congress, presidents, and vice presidents from trading or holding individual stocks — although the ban would not force a full divestment for current office holders until if and they win and start another term.
Part of an effort led by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), the legislation passed through the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in an 8-7 vote. Democrats joined with Hawley in supporting the <a href="https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/26036909/s-1498-hawley-substitute-as-modified-wal25677.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">measure</a>, while the rest of the Republicans opposed it.
“Americans have watched politicians earn a fortune using information not available to the general public while the average family struggles to get by. It&#8217;s just wrong,&#8221; Hawley said. &#8220;Members of Congress should be focused on delivering results for their constituents, not returns on investments. It&#8217;s time to find out where members stand. It&#8217;s time we restore trust in Congress and ban all members from trading and holding stocks.&#8221;
Featuring a name <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/06/29/opinion/pelosis-prime-profits-prove-its-time-to-ban-congress-stock-trading/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">inspired</a> by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her strong performance in the stock market, the bill initially offered by Hawley sought to keep just lawmakers and their spouses from stock picking, but allow for investment in diversified mutual funds, Exchange-Traded Funds, and Treasury bonds. President Donald Trump even <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sen-hawley-reintroduces-pelosi-act-to-curb-congressional-stock-trading-trump-signals-approval" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggested</a> he would sign the legislation.
A change was later offered to add the president and vice president to the ban, part of what Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/07/29/white-house-lobbies-hawley-stock-trading-ban" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> to be Hawley&#8217;s bid to gain Democrat support. But with the White House raising Article II concerns, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee ultimately approved a version that bars only current office-holders from stock trading if they get elected to another term — effectively giving Trump a pass, given he&#8217;s in his second term. Still, that was enough for the Democrats.
&#8220;The American people think ALL politicians, Democrats and Republicans, use our position to enrich ourselves,&#8221; Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) <a href="https://x.com/SenatorSlotkin/status/1950599974686691459" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declared</a> in a post on X. &#8220;Today, we sent a bill to the Senate floor that bans Members of Congress, the President, and VP from trading stocks. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good first step, and we should pass it into law.&#8221;
Business Insider <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/congressional-stock-trading-ban-clears-senate-committee-republicans-arguing-insults-2025-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that even though full divestment from individual stocks would not be required immediately, it would prevent Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and lawmakers from buying stocks right way and, 90 days after enactment, disallow them from selling stocks.
Now the legislation heads to the full Senate, where the GOP has a 53-seat majority.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), the chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said he opposed exempting Trump because he believes &#8220;everybody should be treated fairly.&#8221; He also bemoaned how it excluded the courts and staff of office-holders.
Another Republican on the panel, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfalT1gSTbo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">derided</a> what he called &#8220;legislative demagoguery.&#8221; He noted that insider trading laws and financial disclosure rules already exist. In addition, Johnson warned the measure would &#8220;make it very unattractive&#8221; for people to run for office, particularly those with business experience.
There is GOP support for a congressional stock trading ban in the House. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has signaled that she will <a href="https://x.com/RepLuna/status/1950317068911263752" target="_blank" rel="noopener">force</a> a vote.
&#8220;Members of Congress should be banned from trading individual stocks because their access to privileged, nonpublic information creates unavoidable conflicts of interest that erode public confidence in government,&#8221; Luna <a href="https://x.com/RepLuna/status/1950589449600929876" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post on X.
&#8220;As lawmakers, we receive classified briefings, shape economic policies, and interact with industry leaders, giving us insights that can influence stock prices. Even if no laws are broken, the appearance of profiting from this access fuels distrust among Americans,&#8221; she added. &#8220;The American people do not trust the US government and banning stock trading is a step forward to building that trust.&#8221;

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump will sign legislation Wednesday aimed at helping veterans receive federal assistance with their mortgages, The Daily Wire has learned.
Trump will sign the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act on Wednesday, a White House official shared with The Daily Wire. The signing will take place in the Roosevelt Room of the White House at 1:3o pm ET.

The legislation is intended to help veterans who have fallen behind on their mortgages receive federal aid: it establishes a permanent partial claims program within the VA Home Loan Program, &#8220;bringing VA in line with other federal agencies that lend money for homes and replacing the fiscally irresponsible Biden administration-era VASP program,&#8221; according to a release from Van Orden&#8217;s office.
“Under the Biden administration, the VA created the VASP program without consulting Congress, costing the American taxpayers $5.8 billion and endangering the entire VA home loan guarantee program,” Van Orden said in a statement earlier this month.
“The time for faceless bureaucrats to run roughshod over elected officials is over,&#8221; added Van Orden, who serves as  Chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Economic Opportunity Subcommittee. &#8220;My bill offers a real solution to help every servicemember and veteran maintain the American Dream of homeownership. I am grateful to my Senate colleagues for passing this important bill, and I look forward to President Trump signing it into law.”
The president will also deliver remarks on &#8220;Making Health Technology Great Again&#8221; on Wednesday afternoon at the White House following the bill signing.

President Donald Trump pushed Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on Tuesday to toss a Senate tradition that has empowered Democratic senators to unilaterally block the president’s judicial nominees.
Grassley chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, which oversees judicial nominations. The “blue slip” custom on the committee is not required, but was adopted as an internal vetting procedure to encourage communication between the White House and the senators of the state in which the nominee will serve, giving senators influence over appointments in their states.
Democrats have stalled Trump’s nominees by refusing to give their assent with “blue slips,” a blue-colored form given to senators where a federal judicial nominee would serve. If the senator withholds or returns a negative blue slip expressing disapproval, they can use the custom as a tool for obstruction. The tradition&#8217;s enforcement is controlled by the chair&#8217;s discretion.
“Chuck Grassley, who I got re-elected to the U.S. Senate when he was down, by a lot, in the Great State of Iowa, could solve the ‘Blue Slip’ problem we are having with respect to the appointment of Highly Qualified Judges and U.S. Attorneys, with a mere flick of the pen,” <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114938820270436889">said</a> Trump. “Democrats like Schumer, Warner, Kaine, Booker, Schiff, and others, SLEAZEBAGS ALL, have an ironclad stoppage of Great Republican Candidates.”
“Put simply, the President of the United States will never be permitted to appoint the person of his choice because of an ancient, and probably Unconstitutional, ‘CUSTOM,’ that if you have, even one person in the opposite Party serving in the U.S. Senate, he/she must give consent, thereby completely stopping the opposite Party’s Nomination,” he added.
The president said that in states with Democratic senators, his own judicial nominees would have to either be a Democrat or “a weak and ineffective Republican” to receive blue slip approvals.
“I would never be able to appoint Great Judges or U.S. Attorneys in California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Virginia, and other places, where there is, coincidentally, the highest level of crime and corruption — The places where fantastic people are most needed!” the president said.
Trump said that former President Joe Biden broke the blue slip custom at least twice during his term, and that previous presidents have also worked around the Senate tradition.
A Grassley spokesman suggested in a statement on Tuesday that, despite the president’s pressure, the Judiciary Committee chair would retain the blue slip custom.
“Chairman Grassley has already successfully moved U.S. Attorneys through committee who have received blue slips from Democrats, including Senators Warner and Kaine of Virginia and Klobuchar and Smith of Minnesota,” the spokesman said, according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/07/29/congress/trump-hits-grassley-00483005">Politico</a>. “When a nominee comes out of committee all 100 senators have a say on the nomination and part of their consideration is based on the home state senators’ input.”

President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that Secret Service Director Sean Curran is addressing what could have been a major security breach after an agent attempted to sneak his wife aboard a transport plane accompanying the president to Scotland.
The incident was first <a href="https://x.com/susancrabtree/status/1949206006178689488">reported</a> by RealClearPolitics National Political Correspondent Susan Crabtree over the weekend. The USSS Dallas agent reportedly flew his wife, a member of the U.S. Air Force, to Maryland, and she received an official Secret Service briefing on the trip. The agent&#8217;s wife then rode a bus to the distinguished visitor lounge at Joint Base Andrews, where she was finally discovered and told to leave, Crabtree reported, citing five Secret Service sources.
Trump told reporters on Air Force One on his way back to the United States on Tuesday that the Secret Service incident was a &#8220;weird deal,&#8221; <a href="https://x.com/PhilipWegmann/status/1950256824760095065">according</a> to RealClearPolitics White House reporter Phillip Melancthon Wegmann.
&#8220;Wouldn&#8217;t you think that might be a little dangerous?&#8221; Trump added.
The president said that he had confidence Director Curran would &#8220;take care of it.&#8221;
The agent who attempted to bring his wife along for the president&#8217;s trip to Europe is reportedly in his first year on the job, which means he is still a new trainee, <a href="https://x.com/susancrabtree/status/1949884512944738670">according</a> to RealClearPolitics. The agent has reportedly been in trouble before, as he was written up for misconduct on several occasions while completing his preliminary training at the Rowley Training Center.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that the agency has opened an investigation into the incident.
&#8220;Prior to the overseas departure, the employee was advised by supervisors that such action was prohibited, and the spouse was subsequently prevented from taking the flight,&#8221; Gugliemi added. &#8220;No Secret Service protectees were aboard and there was no impact to our overseas protective operations.”
It&#8217;s unclear if the agent has been suspended as the Secret Service conducts an investigation or if he is still on the job.
The Secret Service has faced public scrutiny for months following the assassination attempt on Trump last July, when a shooter climbed onto a roof near the rally stage in Butler, Pennsylvania, and fired off eight shots before he was shot and killed by Secret Service snipers. Questions still swirl around how the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was able to get so close to Trump with a rifle without being stopped by Trump&#8217;s detail.
Weeks later, Secret Service agents sprang into action to stop an apparent assassination attempt on Trump at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
While Trump was in Scotland, security around him was forced to tighten as demonstrators in Aberdeen and Edinburgh gathered to protest his visit to the country, according to the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckg4210lygko">BBC</a>.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that a high profile alleged victim of Jeffrey Epstein, Virginia Giuffre, was among the staff members that Epstein poached from his Mar-a-Lago resort.
The president discussed the convicted sex offender, who died in a Manhattan prison from apparent suicide in 2019, as he spoke to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way back from Scotland on Tuesday. He shared that he and Epstein, who were formerly friends, fell out over Epstein&#8217;s focus on Trump&#8217;s employees.
“People were taken out of the spa, hired by him. In other words, gone,” Trump told reporters. “When I heard about it, I told him, I said, listen, we don’t want you taking our people, whether it’s spa or not spa &#8230; and he was fine. And not too long after, he did it again. And I said, outta here.”
“I have a great spa,” the president added. “One of the best spas in the world at Mar-a-Lago.”
Trump had said on Monday that he ended his relationship with Epstein after Epstein &#8220;stole people who worked&#8221; for him. Asked by a reporter if one of those individuals who Epstein &#8220;stole&#8221; was Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, Trump responded: “I think so. I think that was one of the people.&#8221;
&#8220;He stole her,&#8221; added Trump, noting, &#8220;And by the way, she had no complaints about us whatsoever.&#8221;
Trump&#8217;s comments come after legacy outlets <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bondi-told-trump-his-name-was-in-epstein-files-no-actionable-allegations-found">broke the news</a> that during a May briefing on the Epstein case, Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump that his name, and the names of other high-profile figures, came up in her examination of the Epstein documents that are not public.
It was already publicly reported that Trump&#8217;s name appears in the Epstein documents, given that public files include his name and hundreds of others. The two men were openly friendly before they fell out (reportedly because Trump found Epstein to be a &#8220;creep&#8221;) and Epstein was no longer welcome at Mar-A-Lago, administration officials previously shared with The Daily Wire.
Asked by reporters whether he stopped being friends with Epstein because he was a creep or because he was stealing employees, Trump responded: “Well maybe they’re the same thing, sort of a little bit of the same thing. He took people that worked for me and I told him don’t do it anymore, and he did it, so I said stay the hell out of here.”

“As part of our routine briefing, we made the president aware of the findings,” Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, shared in a joint statement. “Nothing in the files warranted further investigation or prosecution.”
The Justice Department posted a July 7 <a href="https://www.justice.gov/opa/media/1407001/dl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">memo</a> declaring that after an “exhaustive review” of the Epstein files, it had found no incriminating “client list” or “credible evidence” that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals. &#8220;No further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted,&#8221; the DOJ said, sparking massive backlash from both the Left and the Right.
Amid ongoing criticism and calls for more transparency, Blanche revealed that he would interview Epstein&#8217;s infamous cohort Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20 year sentence for sex trafficking.
“If Ghislane Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say,” Blanche <a href="https://x.com/AGPamBondi/status/1947622027587723365" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.

President Donald Trump reiterated on Monday that he is &#8220;disappointed&#8221; with Russian President Vladimir Putin and that he will &#8220;reduce&#8221; the 50-day deadline he gave to Putin two weeks ago to reach a peace deal with Ukraine.
Speaking alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland on Monday, Trump said that every time there appears to be some progress with Putin on ending the war, Russia launches another attack on Ukraine.
&#8220;We thought we had that settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city, like Kyiv, and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever. You have bodies lying all over the street,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;And I said, &#8216;That&#8217;s not the way to do it.'&#8221;
Trump elaborated on the new timeline later on Monday.
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to make the new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today. There&#8217;s no reason in waiting,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We just don&#8217;t see any progress being made.&#8221;

Russian and Ukrainian negotiators met in Istanbul last week for another round of peace talks, but the discussions yielded no significant progress. In the multiple rounds of negotiations between the warring countries, they have only agreed to exchange prisoners. The Kremlin wants Ukraine to give up the land Russian forces have taken after invading Ukraine more than three years ago, a request that Zelensky has shut down. Putin, meanwhile, has denied Zelensky&#8217;s requests for an in-person meeting, arguing that Zelensky is an illegitimate leader after the country declared martial law and did not hold a presidential election last year.
