Pennsylvania Democrats are openly defying a judge&#8217;s orders ahead of a recount in the state&#8217;s senate race in what appears to be a last-ditch effort to deliver victory to incumbent Senator Bob Casey.
Casey has yet to concede to Republican Dave McCormick, who was winning by more than 26,000 votes as of Thursday, with 99% of the vote counted. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court <a href="https://penncapital-star.com/election-2024/pennsylvania-election-chief-asks-state-supreme-court-to-end-mail-ballot-uncertainty-before-election-day/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">blocked</a> an effort to count mail-in ballots with incorrect or missing dates on the outer envelopes. But that hasn&#8217;t stopped Democrats in the Bucks County Office of Commissioners from pushing for exactly that.
On Thursday, Gene DiGirolamo, the sole Republican on the three-person panel, introduced a motion to reject the attempt to count what the GOP <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/mccormick-campaign-sues-bucks-county-165814957.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> “noncompliant” ballots. In response, <a href="https://bucksdemocrats.org/who-we-are/our-elected-officials/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democrat</a> Diane Marseglia, the chair of the commission, dismissed the proposal out of hand.
“Not going to second that, mostly because I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter in this country and people violate laws any time they want,&#8221; she said. &#8220;So for me, if I violate this law it’s because I want the court to pay attention to it.”
“With all due respect, our law department’s goal is to stay out of any kind of court because they’re supposed to do that, but we might — some of us might want them to go to court on this,” Marseglia said in response.
“I think the law department’s advice has been consistent, at least since I’ve been here: to follow the current state of the law,” Bucks County Deputy Solicitor Daniel Grieser responded. “And I know that that’s changed in the last three years. But the current state of the law in this area is that these, y’know, unless it’s signed by the voter in two places, that we shouldn’t count these. That’s the current state of the law. And that’s been consistently our advice is to follow the law at the time.”
Marseglia and the second Democrat on the commission, Robert Harvie, voted to count the disqualified ballots.

Republicans have <a href="https://www.phillyburbs.com/story/news/local/2024/11/14/david-mccormick-bob-casey-senate-bucks-county-lawsuit-ballot-count-2024-election/76293859007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asked</a> a Bucks County Common Pleas judge to reverse the Bucks County Board of Commissioners decision. “The board’s baffling decision not to enforce the date requirement and to count noncompliant ballots thus directly contravenes binding Pennsylvania law,” the GOP’s appeal of the Board’s decision stated.
“As of 4 p.m. on Thursday, Casey received 48.53% of the vote with 3,359,086 votes and McCormick had 48.90% with 3,385,115,” CBS News <a href="//B5BC2102-431C-4457-8496-C0D2C629A8E3/v" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>, adding, “Counties must begin the recount by Nov. 20, the announcement says. Counties must finish the recount by noon on Nov. 26 and report the results to the secretary of the commonwealth by Nov. 27 at 12 p.m.”
In Pennsylvania, a recount is triggered if a candidate wins by less than a 0.5% margin — but former election officials say a recount &#8220;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/election-recounts-winners-change-4d8a5000d49f48ee1361a1288cad3b99" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">might not change the outcome</a> by more than a few hundred votes,” the AP <a href="https://apnews.com/article/casey-mccormick-pennsylvania-senate-recount-f0da8720c540fc1b10328da37135a1ee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“Senator-Elect McCormick&#8217;s lead is insurmountable, which the AP made clear in calling the race,” McCormick spokesperson Elizabeth Gregory stated. “A recount will be a waste of time and taxpayer money, but it is Senator Casey&#8217;s prerogative. Senator-Elect McCormick knows what it&#8217;s like to lose an election and is sure Senator Casey will eventually reach the right conclusion.”

A local <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/education" target="_blank" rel="noopener">school board</a> race in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Jersey</a> has appeared to flip after electronic voting machine errors were discovered during an investigation into election irregularities.
The tabulation errors occurred in Monmouth County where Steve Clayton initially prevailed over Jeffrey Weinstein by 20 votes in the initial count in the race for a school board seat in Ocean Township. According to the new tally, Weinstein actually won by one vote.
The errors, which involved double counting of votes across four municipalities, were discovered while the Board of Elections investigated another alleged issue during the election, <a href="https://newjerseyglobe.com/local/vote-machine-tabulation-error-shifts-one-local-race-in-monmouth-after-irregularities-discovered/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the New Jersey Globe.
Clayton, who began his term on the board this month, said he will let the process play out. “I will let the process play itself out,” he said. “I’m laser-focused on what the voters sent me to do.”
In the initial count, Clayton had 3,523 votes in comparison to Weinstein’s 3,503. Monmouth County’s voting machine vendor, Election Systems and Software (ES&amp;S) has reportedly “acknowledged” that mistake in their system, according to the Globe.
ES&amp;S scans and counts election ballots in over 30% of New Jersey counties. The errors could change vote totals in Belmar, Fair Haven, and Tinton Falls, but are not expected to flip any races.
Sussex County Clerk Jeff Parrott said he was “disappointed” that the state’s attorney general’s office has not notified him or any other clerks of the errors discovered in Monmouth County.
“Nobody has brought it to my attention. I’m disappointed and dismayed,” Parrott said. “It’s unacceptable to me.”
The race between Weinstein, who had served as school board president, and Clayton was tight on Election Day, as the two were only separated by 25 votes with mail-in-ballots left to be counted.
“I will wait for all remaining ballots to be counted,” Clayton said at the time. “I am very grateful for all the support I received, and if my lead holds, I look forward to working with my fellow board members on behalf of our students.”

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/author/ben-shapiro">Ben Shapiro</a> pointed out on Thursday that Democrats, eager to do <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden">President Biden’s</a> bidding, are now divided about whether to support claims of elections stolen from Democrats or to move away from whining about election results since Biden has targeted Republicans who believe the 2020 election was stolen.
Democrats have claimed after the 2016 that former <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump">President Trump</a> was an illegitimate president and also claimed Stacey Abrams had been denied her status as the rightful governor of Georgia.
Shapiro noted the division among Democrats. “This provides some weird sort of crosscurrents for Democrats,” he noted. “You see a sort of bizarre mix of Democrats doubling down on, ‘Yeah, those elections were stolen’ and also trying to slowly walk back like Homer Simpson into the bushes their old positions about elections being stolen.”
Starting with the doubling-down on stolen elections, Shapiro played a clip of The View’s Whoopi Goldberg speaking about White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre, who had tweeted in 2020 that Stacey Abrams was the rightful governor of Georgia.
Goldberg defended Jean-Pierre, saying, “She was doing her part as an American citizen, saying how she felt about an election, whether you like it or not. Everybody talks about everybody has the right to freedom of speech. So that&#8217;s the difference.”
“Does Whoopi feel that way about all of the private citizens who believe that Trump won the 2020 election?” Shapiro asked rhetorically.
Turning to The View’s Sunny Hostin, who took the opposite tack from Goldberg, Shapiro played a clip of herbacking away from her past position in which she kept saying that Trump was illegitimate for four years.
“But now, as it turns out, if you deny the legitimacy of an elected president, this means you&#8217;re a traitor,’ Shapiro commented. “So she&#8217;s like, well, I do want to uphold Joe Biden&#8217;s kind of false binary here. So I&#8217;m going to pretend I never said that.”
“When Trump became president, I think people were so very shocked, even considering the Electoral College and that sort of thing,” Hostin stated. “The assumption was — at least mine, I&#8217;ll speak for myself — that Russia must have been involved because we knew from the Mueller report that Russia had some involvement. Russia thought that that it could benefit from a Trump presidency, which it did, by the way.”
“But I remember calling him an illegitimate president, and that was wrong. I should not have said that because he was not an illegitimate president,” Hostin said.
“He wasn&#8217;t. Amazing. Amazing how they backtrack in order to fulfill Joe Biden&#8217;s needs of the moment,” Shapiro concluded.

“I was talking specifically at the time of what was happening with voting rights, and what was in danger of voting rights,” Jean-Pierre insisted, apparently referencing the <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/stacey-abrams-pushed-misinformation-about-georgia-voting-bill-now-shes-upset-by-the-consequences/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voter integrity measures</a> passed in Georgia. Despite the measures getting heavy criticism from the Left, Georgia has had <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/georgia-voting-law-media-jim-crow-accusations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">higher turnout</a> in the elections since their passage.

A county elections director in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/arizona">Arizona</a> has been replaced following the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ballots">ballot</a> debacle that ensued on Tuesday during the primary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mid-term-exam-all-the-latest-on-the-2022-elections-3">elections</a>.
Pinal County Elections Director David Frisk is no longer employed by the county, AZ Family <a href="https://www.azfamily.com/2022/08/04/pinal-county-election-director-replaced-by-county-recorder-following-ballot-debacle/">reported</a> Thursday. Frisk has been replaced by Virginia Ross, who resigned from her elected position of county recorder to fill the void as elections director.
“Having been the Recorder for Pinal County since 2013, this primary election has been a stinging experience for us all,&#8221; Ross announced. &#8220;I look forward to involving all stakeholders in Pinal County as we work together to finish this primary election, before immediately turning our attention to the November election.”
Multiple Pinal County polling places <a href="https://www.thecentersquare.com/arizona/pinal-county-ballot-shortage-leads-to-calls-for-resignation/article_02ccd7bc-1386-11ed-a37a-a7954c226259.html">ran out</a> of in-person ballots during Tuesday&#8217;s primary elections.
&#8220;If you experience an issue, a reminder: you can choose to use the express vote device located at the polling place, or as long as you are physically in line at 7:00 pm today, you will be permitted to cast a ballot. Voters who arrive after 7:00 pm are not permitted to cast a vote,&#8221; Pinal County&#8217;s election district said in a statement on Tuesday evening.
&#8220;Pinal County is continuing to print additional ballots and distributing them to each affected precinct polling place,&#8221; the statement added.
In one precinct, voters were reportedly given cards to come back later after ballots ran out. According to the Arizona Secretary of State&#8217;s Office, at least 11 other precincts were affected.
Jeffrey McClure, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, said they were &#8220;deeply embarrassed&#8221; by the issues.
“As a Board, we are deeply embarrassed and frustrated by the mistakes that have been made in this primary election, and as such, we are taking immediate steps to ensure the November election runs smoothly, as elections in Pinal County have historically done prior to this primary,” McClure said.
In a joint statement with Republican Party of Arizona Chairwoman Kelli Ward, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel noted that a whopping 63,000 mail-in ballots were delivered to the wrong voters.
&#8220;During Arizona&#8217;s primary elections, the RNC and Republican Party of Arizona&#8217;s poll observer program documented and reported multiple failures by Pinal County&#8217;s Elections Administrator, including 63,000 mail-in ballots delivered to the wrong voters and multiple Republican-heavy precinct locations running out of ballots,&#8221; the pair said.
&#8220;This is a comprehensive failure that disenfranchises Arizonans and exemplifies why Republican-led efforts for transparency at the ballot box are so important. Pinal County Elections Director David Frisk should resign immediately,&#8221; Ward and McDaniel demanded.

He was retweeting Dutch politician Thierry Baudet’s post, which <a href="https://twitter.com/thierrybaudet/status/1526826267433218050">said</a>, &#8220;Today, @fvdemocratie organizes a screening in the @Europarl_EN (Brussels) of @DineshDSouza’s groundbreaking documentary on the 2020 US Presidential election fraud. D&#8217;Souza also retweeted the announcement that “2000 Mules” would be returning to theaters this weekend rather than limiting the film to special event screenings, which will make the tickets cheaper. 
“2000 Mules” is a film alleging voter fraud that’s been making headlines for weeks. The Daily Wire originally <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dinesh-dsouzas-2000-mules-movie-alleging-voter-fraud-makes-1-million-on-streaming-sites">reported</a> that the documentary made more than $1 million on streaming sites Rumble and its subscription-based platform, Locals, in the first weekend post-release. 
D’Souza said the project was inspired by True the Vote’s Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips, who he claims gained access to a “treasure trove of cellphone data, this is called cellphone “geotracking,” which they believed proved “election fraud.” 
The title refers to 2,000 people who allegedly made dozens of trips each to drop boxes to deposit mail-in ballots, which were targeted to swing states including Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Phillips interviewed an informant from Yuma County, Arizona, who claimed “mules” were paid based on the quantity of ballots they stuffed in drop boxes. Previously, the Department of Homeland Security had assured the public that the last presidential election as &#8220;the most secure in American history,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/pro-trump-sheriffs-ludicrous-voting-probe-denounced-private-investigators-question-clerks-1610743">Newsweek</a>. 
“I would get a call to find out how many ballots were brought in and if they were already pre-filled out first,” the informant said. The person kept their identity obscured for the movie.
The film has received both high praise and extreme criticism, mostly divided on party lines. DeSouza shot back at critic Amanda Carpenter, who called “2000 Mules” a &#8220;performance piece&#8221; and “hilarious mockumentary.” She said it’s “an investigative documentary in roughly the same way Reno 911 was a hard-hitting look at real-life police work.&#8221;
The filmmaker <a href="https://twitter.com/DineshDSouza/status/1526534504462045184?s=20&amp;t=6JqsYd1izi-emfbbgM-yHw">shot back</a>, &#8220;Ball State grad @amandacarpenter offers a good lesson in the limitations of studying film criticism at a third-rate university.&#8221;
