Modern dating is not in a good place right now.
A big part of the problem is that we’ve reached peak feminism in 2025, with so many women opting out of dating entirely and not even pretending to want to settle down with a husband and children. According to a recently published Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/relationships/american-women-are-giving-up-on-marriage-54840971" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a>, this is mostly because they’re unhappy with their prospects.
“I’m financially self-sufficient enough to do these things [house hunting, having babies] myself,” one Boston-based single told the outlet. “I’m willing to accept being single versus settling for someone who isn’t the right fit.”
But what is “the right fit?” According to these women who are quick to swipe left on any man who isn’t 100% on board with their career ambitions, it requires an absolutely perfect meshing of interests, values, and goals, plus physical attraction, earning potential, and of, course, height. There is no room for compromise from these perfection-seeking women who say they’re just as content to live solo and brunch with their friends on weekends.
A Washington-based firefighter told WSJ she doesn’t want to be financially tied to a man. “If I need companionship, I volunteer at the dog shelter,” she said. 
While the article mostly focused on women and their plight to find the ideal, it left out one key piece of the equation: men. The men on the dating sites who are found wanting are hard-working and, in many examples, are looking for a life partner who is willing to take on the traditional role of caretaker of the home.
One woman said she ended her last relationship because “he wanted the white picket fence and me at home with the kids,” which conflicted with her career goals. The article also noted that women with college degrees prefer men with the same education level, and since fewer men are getting bachelor’s degrees, their dating pool is even more limited.

It’s been a rather ignominious couple of weeks for liberal women on the internet. Of course it’s been an ignominious last several decades for liberal women in general — on the internet or otherwise. But these past couple of weeks have given us one viral moment after another where this demographic is thoroughly embarrassing itself. For the sake of brevity, I won’t even include all of the many videos of liberal women vandalizing Teslas and shrieking at their drivers. The anti-Tesla brigade is, after all, almost exclusively women and gay men. These two groups also make up the core of the Democratic voting base. We’ll get back to that point in a moment.
But leaving the Tesla chaos to the side for now, this latest rash of viral humiliation started two weeks ago with footage of an altercation between a woman and a young man on a New York City subway. The woman was upset about the young man’s MAGA hat, which she demanded that he remove from his head. She attempted to take matters into her own hands. But the problem is that she apparently has all the speed and agility of a baby panda. Watch:

That was the glorious sight of the woman chasing a young man to steal his MAGA hat, only to trip and face-plant in the middle of the subway station. Thanks to some crack reporting from the New York Post, we now know that this woman’s name is Alberta Testanero and she is a “luxury brand specialist.” Which is exactly the kind of nonsense job that you’d expect a liberal woman in New York to have. I don’t even know what a “luxury brand specialist” does, but I know that this woman seems like the type to do it, whatever it is.
The following week, a woman who appears to be in her late 60s or 70s went viral with this public service announcement about her dating life:

I know there are a lot of single young men out there who feel incredibly demoralized by the dating scene. If you’re in that category, I don&#8217;t mean to add to your frustrations. But if you’re looking for an elderly feminist grandma — if that’s your type — I’m sad to say there’s one less fish in the sea available to you. Unless you aren’t white. Then you might still have a chance. 
At the same time, another video has been making the rounds. This is a significantly younger woman named Zoe, telling the story of how she broke up with her boyfriend because he committed the unforgivable sin of being Republican:

She broke up with him. That’s the end of the story. Why any man would ever date a woman like this in the first place is the greater mystery. Everything about her is aggressively unappealing. She’s the human embodiment of nails on a chalkboard.
She’s the type of woman who would no doubt describe herself as having a “big personality,” because she’s loud and obnoxious and uses the f-word a lot. But in truth she has no personality at all. She has an anti-personality. She speaks in internet lingo and has all of the mannerisms and affectations — not to mention the value system and political beliefs — of every other 20-something woman on TikTok. She professes the value of “doing your own research” but, I can guarantee, has never done anything resembling research in her life. Her research consists of watching TikTok videos.

That said, she’s not wrong about her basic point: The relationship wasn’t going to work. It wasn’t going to work because their values were not aligned — to the extent that either one of them have values at all. And it wasn’t going to work because she is a raging narcissist and a deeply unpleasant person, who, barring some kind of miraculous personal transformation, will never have a functional and meaningful romantic or even platonic relationship with another human being in her life.
We joke about the fact that these kinds of women are always cat ladies. Indeed, in a follow up video this woman confirmed that she does have at least one cat. But the cat lady thing isn’t really a joke. There’s a reason why liberal women really do almost always end up alone with their cats. They prefer cats because cats require almost nothing from them. Change the litter box and pour some more food in the bowl, and that is the extent of the work and effort you have to put into your relationship with your cat. Feminists love cats because cats provide some measure of affection and fellowship without needing much of anything in return. No need for sacrifice or compromise or personal improvement. Successful human relationships require those things. A relationship with your cat does not. Of course the trade off is that you’ll never have anything approaching the depth of love and companionship that you could have with another person. You’ll also never have a family or children. You’ll die alone and your cherished cat will eat your carcass without a second thought.
Anyway, there is one more video in this tour. The singer Chappell Roan appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast. As we know, Call Her Daddy is the number one podcast in the world for women. Which is a troubling fact, because the show, like its host Alex Cooper, is insipid, gross, and morally and intellectually bankrupt. It’s mostly just 95 IQ women sitting around talking about sex. There’s a reason you’ve never seen a viral clip from this show where someone says something interesting or intellectually provocative. The Joe Rogan podcast &#8212; the number one podcast in the world for men — has those kinds of moments all the time. Joe frequently talks to archeologists, astronomers, biologists, and all manner of interesting people about a wide range of academic, political, and cultural topics. Alex Cooper talks to women about sex. And that’s pretty much it.

People with kids don’t have light in their eyes, says the dead-eyed consumerist zombie. The two dullest, least vibrant women you’ve ever seen in your life are concerned that people with kids don’t have light in their eyes.
Needless to say, Chappell is completely wrong. It’s not entirely her fault. I’m sure she probably does have some young mothers in her life who constantly complain about their kids. This is one of the dangers of venting, and why all of us — women especially, who are much more inclined to vent — should be doing a lot less of it. Using someone else as a sounding board for all of your frustrations is selfish, and enormously unpleasant and frankly pretty boring for the person forced to listen to your litany of complaints. Even worse, if that person is not in the same stage of life, you will be giving them a skewed, unfairly bleak impression of it. That’s why parents should only complain — if they’re going to complain at all — to each other. But mostly they should just stop complaining. It’s not that we’re trying to hide some deep, dark secret from the childless. It’s that a childless person has no context. They might not understand that, although you’re annoyed that your toddler woke you up at 4:00 am,  you are still filled with deep, abiding joy that you have a child to wake you up at all. It is possible to hold frustration and joy in your heart at the same time. But that is a depth that someone like Chappell Roan has never reached, cannot understand, and likely will never reach nor understand.
The point is that getting married and having kids will increase the daily annoyances and inconveniences in your life by a very sizable margin. But it also increases — not just increases, but reveals for the first time — a kind of meaning and purpose that you never had before. Meaningful pursuits will always increase your annoyances and inconveniences. Which is why you will never do anything meaningful in your life at all if your primary goal is to avoid inconvenience. Embrace inconvenience, or live a pointless, empty life. Those are your two options. There is no third option.
Of course, the opinion of some random pop star wouldn’t matter at all if they were being expressed in a vacuum. Unfortunately, they’re part of a much larger pattern, and a much grander agenda. All of the videos we’ve talked about are part of — or a result of — that agenda. In fact they represent the great cultural battle that will define and determine our future. That is the effort to convince women to abandon marriage and family life. The feminist agenda. Which of course isn’t new. But now it lies at the core of nearly all of our political and cultural divisions. As most people know at this point, the Democrat Party’s core constituency by far is unmarried women. Even in the last election, a landslide loss for Kamala Harris, she still won unmarried women by a margin of 61% to 38%. The continued existence of the Democrat Party, and their entire political program, rests on this demographic.
I’m not saying that Chappell Roan or Zoe from TikTok are paid agents of the Democrat Party, sent to go out into the world and convince women to reject marriage and family life. Although, who knows, they might be. What I am saying is that we’re about to see a whole lot more of this kind of messaging. This is the future of the culture war, and its past. And we have to be ready to fight back.

Relationship TikTok loves to engage in debates, the most recent of which involves the post-breakup period. The debate at hand is one everyone faces after a subsequent heartbreak: Is no contact the best route? In other words, what do you do after a breakup? Do you speak? Do you ever see each other? Or, do you bid your now-ex significant other a fond farewell, never to be seen again?
Some say a clean break is the only way to move forward, but others argue keeping the door open allows for the possibility of getting back together. One Canadian TikToker, Chris (@chrispoletek), who often talks about dating, shared what goes through men’s minds after a breakup with no contact. He starts, “Ladies, this is how men feel during no contact. I’ve spoke with my friends many times about their no contact experiences.”

Then, he explains their conversations fall into two buckets. In the first, the guy realizes he actually didn’t like the girl that much because he “forgets that they exist,” a clear indicator he just wasn’t that into her. In the second bucket, the guy has the exact opposite realization and sees he misses her. So Chris concludes that if you don’t miss the person, you shouldn’t respond if they reach out. If, on the other hand, you realize you do miss the person, breaking no contact might be best because “it could be worth exploring.”
These don’t seem to be revolutionary thoughts, and they definitely are not bound to men. In the comments, one guy admitted to missing his ex at first and then forgetting all about her not even a week later. And one girl mentioned that women feel the same way, which of course is true. This is all just part of the human experience.

However, this is much more a contemporary problem than it was a problem in generations past. A few decades ago, a clean break would have been much easier because you couldn’t check anyone’s social media to see where they are, what they’re up to, or who they’re hanging out with. You couldn’t even take a photo on demand, let alone send a late night text. You just moved on. Or, you went to great lengths to get back with the person — like a grand gesture flying across the country and showing up with flowers. (Yes, that happened to my mom. No, she didn’t take him back.) But like every other aspect of relationships and love, social media has greatly complicated the post-breakup season.

In general, people seem to be in favor of a clean break regardless of their feelings about the relationship ending — especially women. Dating coach Gabby (@respectfullygabby) addresses the issue with a firm stance: “Going no contact is actually the only solution to getting whatever you want. Whatever outcome you’re looking for, whether it be, you want to get over him as quickly as possible, whether you want to get back together with them, or whether you’re unsure about whether or not you want to get back together with them.”

She goes on to explain that if you know you’re done, “ripping off the bandaid and completely cutting off access is the only way you’re going to heal.” Giving them access again just loops you back into a land of limbo. She goes onto to say, “You cannot move onto what is actually meant for you if you are stuck in what you already know is not meant for you.” She is spot on. If you keep going back when you know it’s wrong, when you stay <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dont-waste-your-time-commit-or-cut-loose" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in a situation</a> that you know is not meant for you, you are just holding your future self back. You are keeping yourself from finding what you actually want. People do this out of fear because leaving is a risk, it’s uncomfortable, and it hurts. But it usually works out in the end.
The other possible outcome from going no contact is that you might realize you were wrong about the situation and you do, indeed, want to get back together. Plus, as Gabby mentions, giving the other person time and space to gain clarity will work in your favor as well; you don’t want to beg for someone to get back together. You want to be with someone who is sure about you. But you absolutely cannot get clarity if you are still stuck in a relationship mess. So, that makes going no contact a win-win situation. You either get over them and move on quickly, or you realize breaking up was a mistake and you end up back together.
Another TikToker, Taylor Herd (@taytalkspod), posted a follow-up to a previous TikTok of hers about the no-contact debate. In this one, she reads the comments she saw the most on her last video, the ones with similar themes. The first she reads is: “It only works if he really likes you.” Then, she follows up with her own commentary: “Correct. If that man can go any amount of time — one week, one month, one year — without thinking of you or without thinking to check in on you, he didn’t really like you that much. He just liked the attention that you show him.”

She says, “He’ll realize he played himself out of everything you had to offer,” but the reality is, he may move on and find someone he likes better. That might hurt, but you should move on and find someone you like better too. If he doesn’t come back, that’s a definite sign you should move on. No matter your feelings about the end of the relationship, a clean break is just smart.
There are, however, TikTokers on the other side of the aisle. After all, it is a debate. They say you do need to talk again to get clarity. Basically, they think you should put yourself through more hurt to know for certain you’re making the right decision. Natalie (@wanderlusqt), for example, advises that if you cannot stop thinking of the person, think they may have changed, or still have hope you can make things work, “I think it is literally critical to break the no-contact rule.” Yet she acknowledges that breaking no-contact always results in “a complete failure” and she “feels so sad again.”

Truthfully, this is absolutely bizarre. Hurting yourself because of some maybes? Do not do it. The people in the comments didn’t agree with her either. They were heated:

It’s not that breaking no contact always ends in pain. There are comments that speak to having broken up, not spoken to each other, broken the no-contact rule, gotten back together, and are now married. But to break no contact, I would advise there be obvious evidence of specific circumstances having changed — to the point you know you would not be walking back into the same situation once again. If, for instance, one of you has put in the work to make changes that would fix the obvious problems, it is possible the relationship could work.
But the fact is, no contact is commonly the right move. A clean break protects against any possible lingering or questioning; you move on. Initiating communication again shouldn’t be based on the maybes, the missings, and the hopefuls. Breaking no contact just because <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exploring-remedies-to-chronic-singleness-part-ii" target="_blank" rel="noopener">you are lonely</a> is a dangerous decision. There is a gaping difference between having concrete evidence to know for certain the relationship would be different, and convincing yourself from a place of loneliness that it might be different. You must be honest with yourself about when it’s logical <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kristin-cavallari-the-montana-boyz-and-advice-we-dont-need" target="_blank" rel="noopener">and when it’s emotional</a>.
If you miss them but nothing has changed and the same problems still exist, you should be focusing on your future. Most importantly, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-truth-about-the-taxicab-theory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have the confidence</a> not to just walk away, but to keep moving forward.

Although we are living in an around-the-clock, digitally connected world, we sometimes paradoxically find ourselves disconnected from each other. But it hasn’t always been this way. People in generations past — Boomers, for example — would drop by unannounced to visit friends on Sunday afternoons or host family dinners regularly to bring everyone together and catch up on life. Today, the art of true friendship has torn apart at the seams, leaving Gen Z as a whole ill-equipped to maintain meaningful relationships. 
This was not a problem that showed up overnight, nor can it be linked to just one cause. We were the first generation raised online in a world of social media, we were locked down in a months-long pandemic on the cusp of adulthood, and we live in a time when lifestyles are as fast-paced as they’ve ever been. In general, Gen Z is made up of inside kids, so we grew up accustomed to socializing very differently than other generations.
Objectively, this is less healthy because we don’t have as much face-to-face communication in real life, and we all know that is important to a healthy, happy, and long life. We have been called <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/generation-genz-loneliness-problem-mental-health-1877013" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the lonely generation</a>, a generation who tends to <a href="https://ballardbrief.byu.edu/issue-briefs/isolation-among-generation-z-in-the-united-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">isolate</a>. Gen Z simply doesn’t interact with people as much as generations before us, including Millennials. But regardless of the reasons, Gen Z not only has difficulty maintaining friendships, but they also voice concerns about even being able to find friends. And sometimes, the online world can make it appear as though everyone else has tons of friends, which just leads to more feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Now, Gen Z is reaching adulthood, moving out, living alone, and asking a serious question: How do I make friends? I resonate with this question because, even though I wanted female friends as I was growing up, making girlfriends was a challenge for me. Part of this was because we moved quite often. I would make friends, keep them for about a year, and then move, so the friendship just withered away. I could never seem to make and keep solid female friends. I also had brothers so I grew up primarily around boys, and I was never much of a girly girl. Plus, I always found it easier to hang out with guys.

There was, however, another reason making girlfriends was difficult for me, though I didn’t realize it at the time. Even though I wanted female friends, I had a rather negative view of femininity. The traits I primarily noticed about girls were traits I didn’t like, especially the promiscuousness, gossipiness, and silliness. I didn’t want to be associated with those qualities, and I allowed them to taint my perspective in general.
Now, however, I have learned those traits are not true of the gender as a whole. I’m no-nonsense by nature, but I realized I can embrace my femininity and be open to female idiosyncrasies. That change in perspective had to start with me, and when it did, I could see I had superficial ideas of what friendships were. I had to become more open and vulnerable, because in truth, being friends with women requires significant vulnerability.
Having learned all this, my first suggestion to the question of how to make friends is: Say yes to everything. If there’s an invite, accept; if there’s an event, go; and if there’s coffee, drink. Join a running club, go to trivia nights, and attend work-sponsored happenings. Even if you think you would not be friends with the person doing the inviting, go anyway. You probably don’t know them well enough to make that decision yet, and you could also meet other potential friends at the events they’re inviting you to. 
Be willing to put yourself in situations that allow you to meet people. In order to get out there, you must put yourself out there. It’s worth acknowledging this creates some discomfort, but if the desire for friends and struggle against loneliness outweighs being uncomfortable — which it absolutely should — then say yes. Be open. Be agreeable.

Second, take initiative. Girls love doing fun activities together. If you’re at a farmers’ market and there’s a girl standing next to you, strike up a conversation. If there’s a girl at work you think you’d like to be friends with, ask her to get lunch. As much as saying yes is a great attitude to begin with, reaching out and being the first to take initiative to connect is even more productive when it comes to making friends.
I met one of my bridesmaids by randomly messaging her one day. She was a co-worker, and I had spoken to her exactly one time in the breakroom, but something about her made me think we could be friends. One weekend, a rodeo was going to be in town about an hour outside Nashville, so I just messaged her and asked her to go with me. That led to another rodeo and eventually a true friendship. She stood by me on the day of my wedding as one of my best friends.
I don’t have sisters, so I had always assumed I wouldn’t have bridesmaids. But on the day I got married, our wedding party included six sweet friends of mine — only one of whom I have known longer than two years. Those six bridesmaids are proof that I was able to find friends and create meaningful relationships with them.
Our fast-paced lifestyles aren’t always conducive to an afternoon meet-and-greet, and we scramble to even be able to FaceTime or send a quick text. Add to that the fact that fostering meaningful relationships is (and always has been) challenging, but even finding friends with whom to engage in those relationships can prove difficult. But friendship starts with you. It may require a perspective change, an open attitude, or a move with initiative, but the friends are out there — and they are looking for friends too.

For a couple months now, Gen Z has taken to TikTok in droves to address their concern of being “chronically single.” Generally, when you have a “chronic” illness, you do your best to find a solution, which is what they’re doing. They go on dates semi-regularly, they’re open to being introduced to other people, and they’re willing to try blind dates, but none of these methods seem to be working. So, is there a remedy to this chronic ailment? Potentially. 
Opposite those who are “chronically single” is another group called “repeat offenders,” according to TikTok. It seems that these people have just given up on finding someone to date seriously while letting their standards slip in the process, so they have just become repeat offenders to fill the void.

The comments are divided. While some say they “live for the plot” and are too bored to stay single, others say they would much rather be chronically single than dating a different man each week:

Although the opportunity to get emotionally or physically involved with someone may seem appealing, even if the person isn’t right for you, that will only cause you pain. That type of companionship or method of filling a void will not be worth the hurt it brings in the end. 
Perhaps the most powerful takeaway from the chronically single trend I have seen is that people are not lowering their standards or entering into desperation mode. This girl puts it squarely into perspective:

She acknowledges the unwarranted bad advice singles receive, and then mentions that when a dating situation doesn’t work out, other people are quick to shower you with pity, say how sorry they are, and ask how long you’ve been single, which she has some strong opinions about. Her main point is that she thinks the longer you’re single, the more adamant you become on not settling. Lots of comments concurred:

My husband was 28 when we met, and by the internet’s definition, he was chronically single. He never felt like any of the women he went on a date with were right for him — so he just kept looking. When I met him, I respected the fact he’d never been in a relationship because it showed me he was dating with intention. He valued himself enough not to waste his time going after random girls at bars just to have the satisfaction of being with someone.

Waiting and checking boxes was a common sentiment among both the men and the women in this comment section. If anything, the singles’ standards seem to be getting stronger as they mature and gain more confidence in what they want in a significant other, which I think is positive — so long as your standards don’t include a list of unnecessary “icks.” If your standards include mutual respect, shared values, and common ground in a relationship, keep them high.

She’s a hopeless romantic living in a hook-up culture world. This is incredibly hard for people who have traditional values because those values have gone out of practice in the dating world. Yet this girl has so much clarity and maturity. She isn’t going out and seeking attention from every man she meets, nor has she made dating or hooking up her identity — quite the contrary. At the same time, finding someone to be in a relationship with is on her mind because it’s important to her and she’s not going about it frivolously.

My takeaway after watching all these TikTokers document their chronically single experiences was: I don’t know exactly what to say because everyone has different experiences as to how they found their significant others. By no means do I want to spew cliches. And more than just giving relentless advice, my hope is to break down the problems people are facing in the dating landscape, break down the dating landscape in and of itself so that we can find solutions.
Singles don’t need more advice. They need phone numbers. So be the help, connect your friends, and become part of the solution. This is a huge issue in our culture, and there has to be a way to fix this. So let’s stop with the unhelpful advice and start making connections.

Exploring Remedies To 'Chronic Singleness,' Part II

One topic Gen Z doesn’t mind talking about is dating. Because of all its challenges, some say they are not choosing to prioritize dating, or they are just opting out entirely. To be fair, that is not the case for all of Gen Z. A decent number of twenty-year-olds do very much want to be in a relationship, yet they consistently remain single. A selection of the latter group have, in true Gen Z fashion, taken to social media to air their grievances, labeling themselves “the chronically single friend,” and their stories prove the dating landscape is rough terrain.
I ran across the “chronically single” trending topic on TikTok a month or so ago. These single twentysomethings started making lists about the number of unhelpful (and generally obnoxious) comments people have made to them over the years — and they are over hearing them. In one of the most viral TikToks, a twenty-five-year-old listed a few of the pieces of advice she hears most often, including, “It will happen when you least expect it,” and “Stop looking and that’s when you’ll find it.” She explained, “I haven’t been looking. And it’s the not looking, I fear, that resulted in years of absolutely no contact with a man.”

I do agree that sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back, focus on yourself, and realign your priorities to know what you actually want in a potential partner. However, society’s push of telling women they don’t need a man has landed some women in this very predicament. This is a balancing act: It is wise to know what you want and be open to dating while also not making finding a significant other your entire life’s mission and fixating on it twenty-four hours a day.
This 25-year-old continues, listing “You’re so lucky” and “Don’t rush it” as two more unhelpful pieces of advice. She concludes by acknowledging that when people set her up with someone, she knows they are trying to help, but she often finds herself in a difficult position when she ends up not being interested. She has a point. I don’t think setting people up is a bad move; in fact, it’s one way to actually help singles — so long as the two people getting set up share commonalities and have potential to be a good match. But just because two people happen to be single does not mean they will automatically have a connection.

She ends telling fellow TikTokers that if they can relate, she’s sorry—and boy did they relate. When this video started circulating, it didn’t stop. One commented that she’s basically tired of focusing on herself. This is something people talk about after getting married and having children because they realize focusing on someone else is life-giving. In our narcissistic society, we don’t even realize how unhealthy and exhausting only focusing on ourselves is. Another commenter was aggravated over receiving contradictory advice:

To her credit, advice-givers never quite seem to extrapolate the nuance about why singles should “stop looking” while simultaneously “put yourself out there.” If you want to be in a relationship with someone, being emotionally available and open to the possibility of dating is definitely smart, but that doesn’t mean you need to go on a date every single night of the week. 
One other response to this chronic single situation hits on a truth that touches on many areas in life: If you don’t have experience in a specific situation, it might be hard to give actual, beneficial advice. Certainly, people are trying to be helpful by offering advice based on their own experiences. But when someone is actively attempting to get out of the chronically single status, that advice can sting.

This trend is holding strong and the videos just keep coming. In another that went viral, a girl commented yet again on the “it will happen when you’re not looking” theme, followed by, “you have to put yourself out there.” These are by far the most commonly cited unhelpful sayings.

Next, she names the “have you tried dating apps?” question to be in the unhelpful lineup. She sarcastically remarks that she’s “never thought of that foreign concept before” and then seriously states, “The dating apps aren’t it.” The apps have, unfortunately, gone downhill over time. They have great potential if they’re used properly, if you are intentional and honest. However, you can only control that on your end; on the other side, people may be simply using apps as a pastime, swiping right and left with no real intent — which seems to be what singles are experiencing now.
She goes on to say that when people tell her she’s young and still has “so much time,” she disagrees. I appreciate that women are even mentioning the fact their biological clock is ticking. Years ago, that would have never even been part of this conversation, whereas now, women are openly saying they want to be married and have kids. This is a shift in culture, which is a really positive one for women.
Most of these videos were posted by women, but there were some men that jumped in too. One, a twenty-eight-year-old guy, says he too is tired of hearing that he needs to put himself out there. While I don’t think this is the worst advice, I do think it should be followed up with an explanation of what that means.

Not all of my generation necessarily even knows what it means to “put yourself out there,” let alone how to do it. We were raised online, our first dating experience was online, and our entire college experience was dominated by Covid, so a lot of Gen Z doesn’t know how to socialize in a way that opens the doors to dating. The reality is, going to bars likely won’t lead to a long-term relationship, whereas joining a rec league and making new friends you see on a consistent basis could lead to other connections.
This man says he’s tired of hearing he should embrace and enjoy his time being single because he’s not enjoying it or having fun anymore. He is watching his friends get married and have kids, which he wants, but he just hasn’t found the right person yet. These are not people who are just looking for hook-ups; they are looking for long-term partners. They value having love and respect for the opposite gender, and by resurrecting these values, they are bringing normalcy and decency back to America.

Interestingly, the last comment is from the 25-year-old single woman who got a jump on the beginning of this trend. This is definitely one way of “putting yourself out there” that I can get behind because, who knows, maybe these two could meet and bond over this. I am all in favor of a TikTok romance.
The fact that this trend has become so popular makes it clear there is a need for some problem solving skills to be put into action. The advice these singles are receiving hasn’t been helping, so it’s time to think of an actual solution.

'Chronic Singleness.' Let’s Talk About It. Part I

This week, a 33-year-old track-and-field Olympian woman proposed to her fiance after finishing fourth in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. She finished the race, ran off the track, and knelt to propose. The story has <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KW372SBz8Dc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gone viral</a>.
She proposed with a pin, engraved “Love is in Paris.” (Is that the proper way? Do you propose to a man with a pin? Or a ring? A Rolex?) Nevertheless, the man accepts the proposal from his girlfriend, they kiss, and celebrations ensue. This is pretty par for the course for the 2024 Olympics considering the gender-bending going on in the Paris games from the weird, decadent opening ceremonies to boxing to this marriage proposal.
So, why is this wrong? The centrists, the moderates, and even the center Right will say, “Now Michael, what is wrong with that? What is wrong with a woman proposing to a man? There is nothing wrong, you fuddy duddy, you old-fashioned radical extremist.” Yet we all know it’s a bit weird. Our intuition tells us it’s wrong for a woman to propose to a man. Intuitively, we know a man is supposed to propose marriage to a woman, even if you are unable to articulate the precise reasons why that is. We all know it intuitively.
Many of the people who will criticize me for raising any questions about this will also agree with me; they just don’t give themselves permission to admit it because they can’t write a perfectly rational treatise about why a man should propose to a woman — and not the other way around. They will deny their intuition. Still, there are perfectly rational reasons as to why the tradition of men proposing to women has come to be.
First, men tend to be the less eager party when it comes to getting married. While one might argue that is wrong, bad, and terrible, it is nonetheless true. This goes back to when we were five years old. No five-year-old boy in the history of the world has ever dreamed about his wedding day. However, most five-year-old girls dream about their wedding day.
That is simply how men and women are built; it is how we are wired. The libs complain about this — they complain about nature and reality quite a lot — and they are discontent with it. They unceasingly try to revolutionize and upend reality. But the fact remains: Men are the less eager party when it comes to getting married. Because we are the ones who must get over the hesitancy of getting married, we are the ones who take the initiative to propose.
Second, generally men take more of a financial risk when getting married. Though in today’s time it is less common, men are often the breadwinners, so they are the party who proposes because they are taking more of a financial risk when doing so.
Putting aside the matter of who the breadwinner is, men take the emotional risk to propose. Sometimes when a man gets on one knee, the woman says, “No thanks.” This exact scenario happened at a UFC fight, where a fighter proposed to his girlfriend following his fight, and she said no. He was devastated and utterly broken down. But a man takes that risk — and that is ok.

Men and women are different. For any of the putative conservatives who criticize this stance and ask why it matters who proposes to whom, consider the issue of transing the kids. We all agree we should not trans the kids. (Not Tim Walz. Tim Walz wants to trans the kids, but the vast majority of all normal people think we should not trans the kids.) The reason we shouldn’t trans the kids is because a man cannot be a woman. So, are you also willing to agree we should not trans the adults? Because if a man cannot be a woman, then that is true at any age.
Are you willing to go further and say marriage has a distinct meaning? At its core, the defining feature of marriage is about how men and women are different. Many conservatives will not go so far as to agree with that today. Are you willing to go even further on the point of feminism? According to multiple social surveys, feminism has actually caused women to be less happy because it runs contrary to nature and reality — because men and women are different.
So if transing the kids is wrong because men and women are different, a point on which we all agree, then all of these things have to be wrong. So, maybe it is ok to admit there is something wrong with a lady proposing to a man at the Olympics or anywhere else for that matter.
On a final note, this couple had been dating for nine years. Some have responded, saying, “Well, Michael, the boyfriend had not proposed, so she took matters into her own hands. He should have manned up and proposed.” Yes, I’m sure he should have proposed or broken up with her; however, while I have great sympathy for the woman and I think the man is a total loser (as does the rest of the world because of how this whole situation played out), the woman still should not have been the one to propose.
What should she have done? She should have dumped him years ago. Or, she should have done what my grandmother did to my grandfather (who did not date for nine years) and given him an ultimatum: marry or break up. So, my grandfather proposed. They had six children, were married for 69 years, and had a wonderful life. That’s what should have happened.
But a woman proposing to a man? It’s just not quite right.

Over the last decade, there has been a gradual push for men to become softer. Society has attacked masculinity, deemed it toxic, and pressured men to fall in line with feminist standards. Along with this disruption to masculinity has come the disintegration of gender norms. Yet when you really look at the men who women are actually interested in, they are not feminine men. 
About a month ago, a little song started circulating around TikTok: “I’m looking for a man in finance, trust fund, six five, blue eyes.” We’ve all heard it at this point because it took off, getting millions of views.

DJs took to re-mixing the song, and TikTokers everywhere picked it up to make mash-ups and different renditions of the song. Girls began stitching and captioning descriptions of the man they were looking for, and as it turns out, a lot of them didn’t care so much about landing a finance bro and were more interested in a “blue collar, tatted” guy or a “blue-collared husband” with a “dad bod.”

Women used this song to share their thoughts on an ideal man, and I did not see one video — not one — in which the ideal man was described as anything other than some kind of strong, masculine provider. Whether he’s a finance bro or a blue collar man, women are not looking to take care of nor save their man; they are looking to be taken care of and, dare I say, rescued themselves.

Case in point: Women in New York City are regularly attending single mixers called “<a href="https://singleandthecity.com/event/rescue-me-parties/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rescue Me</a>,” where the only men who can attend are either blue collar workers or first responders. I came across a post about these mixers from the Gothamist, who was the first I saw cover them. The event company, Single and the City, has been hosting these since 2008, and they are the “most popular and longest-running mixers from the events company Single and the City.”

The Gothamist <a href="https://gothamist.com/arts-entertainment/a-night-at-rescue-me-where-women-hope-to-date-nyc-firemen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a>, “A night at ‘Rescue Me’ where women hope to date NYC firemen,” goes into detail on how these events got started. The event company’s founder, Amber Soletti, had such great experiences dating firemen that she wanted to encourage women to explore doing the same — so much so she created entire events based around this idea.
<blockquote>Soletti said Rescue Me parties were inspired by her own positive experiences dating firemen, who she thinks are sometimes snubbed by women in the local dating scene.
“There is a set of women that would refuse to go to this event because they think these guys are just too blue-collar for them,” she said. “They want, like, a finance type. But a lot of firemen make really good money. These guys have amazing benefits, they have pensions. I think a lot of women are actually missing out on this.”</blockquote>
And the women love it:
<blockquote>“I’ve always had a thing for men in uniform,” said Dee Carano, 34, a regular attendee, in a phone interview before the Friday event. “FDNY was a huge part of [my] growing up.”
Carano is from Middle Village, Queens, which she describes as a “blue-collar” neighborhood full of cops and firefighters, including many of her family members. She attended her first Rescue Me party about a decade ago and has met a few of her past boyfriends at the parties.
Carano said she returns to Rescue Me when she’s single, and particularly enjoys “being able to date someone that has such pride for their city.”</blockquote>
Obviously, the men love it too, though not any and every man can come to these events. Soletti recruits specific men and has a specific guest list system in which she invites via email and text. According to the Gothamist, she also “sends faxes to all the firehouses in the city.” One firefighter explained that it has helped take the guessing game out of dating and also create a forthright foundation from the beginning:
<blockquote>“I&#8217;m outgoing as it is, but on any given night, if you&#8217;re going out to, say, a bar with your friends, it&#8217;s hit or miss if anyone in the room is gonna want to talk to you,” he said. He also noted that it’s nice to meet women who are open to the demands of his job, with its intense hours and 24/7 on-call mentality.</blockquote>
From the men’s perspective, a “Rescue Me” event is a much better experience than a night at a crowded bar where you might approach a woman and hope she doesn’t take you for a creep and gamble on whether or not she is interested. It’s also better than spending hours upon hours swiping on dating apps where people randomly quit responding, have no intention of actually meeting, or never respond at all. As dating apps die off, events like these will likely become more popular.
Society needs these kinds of events now more than ever. Imagine being single, going to an event, and knowing everyone there is also single and also intentionally seeking a relationship. That alleviates a lot of stress, anxiety, and confusion from the dating process so you can focus on being yourself and putting your best foot forward. Most importantly, these events speak to the type of men with whom women are hoping to pursue a relationship: blue collar providers, masculine first responders, and strong men in uniform. Women line up at the door to get in.
A few of the comments about these events were quite laughable because of how ironic they were. As they commented on how terrible and toxic these masculine men are, they showed how angry, insecure, and bitter they are. One named these events a “hellscape,” which is absurd considering the women attending these events are normal feminine women who are interested in normal masculine men.

Some had many, many words to say about these events but ended up just coming across as angry for the sake of being angry. A few seemed bothered because these men don’t want to date them, but — based on lines like “they also don’t usually have ANY issues finding dates” — perhaps they are just jealous.

It is incredibly elitist, egotistical, and down right wrong to put such blanket assumptions on the men who serve and protect every single day. It’s probably women like the ones who wrote these comments that cause these events to be so successful because these men are tired of being attacked by women they date. Obviously, they would enjoy a mixer where women are interested in them, respect them, and understand the importance of their job.
These roles are desperately needed and should be respected. Two months ago, women were getting punched in the face walking down the street. People are attacked in the subway at all hours. But if this is truly what they think, then they really shouldn’t ever call the cops for help. The utter disrespect is insane.
Furthermore, while they may think these are “dumpster fire” ideas, that does not change the fact that these are actually wildly successful events that lead to well-adjusted couples and happy marriages. These are fantastic events, and I hope to see more continue to pop up with more professions and interests.
“Rescue Me” events just prove the type of men women do actually want to be in relationships with. On the whole, we need to stop pretending women don’t like masculine men, and women need to stop trying to convince themselves otherwise.

Let’s Stop Pretending Women Don’t Like Masculine Men

Here&#8217;s a side of the Clinton administration you probably don&#8217;t remember. Just a few months into Bill Clinton&#8217;s second term, the federal government announced a major initiative to fund abstinence-only sex education.
As the L.A. Times <a href="https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1997-03-01-mn-33685-story.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> back in March of 1997, Clinton&#8217;s administration allocated hundreds of millions of dollars to programs teaching that sex before marriage is, &#8220;likely to have harmful psychological and physical effects.&#8221; The Clinton-funded programs also taught that abstinence from premarital sex is, “the expected standard” of human behavior. That’s worth repeating: The Clinton administration said that abstaining from sex before marriage is the &#8220;expected standard&#8221; of human behavior.
That may sound surprising now, for obvious reasons. This was not exactly an administration that led by example on this front, or any other front. But at the time, especially in that pre-Lewinsky period, it wasn&#8217;t a particularly shocking move. From Reagan&#8217;s administration onward, there had been significant bipartisan support in Washington for teaching young people to wait until marriage before having sex. Democrats and Republicans agreed on this point: Hookup culture spreads disease and ultimately makes people unhappy. It wasn&#8217;t especially controversial, really.
As recently as 2010, CNN was running segments about how abstinence-education was effective. Watch:

You won&#8217;t find many reports like that on CNN anymore. Do a quick search of their website, and you&#8217;ll learn that abstinence-only education is &#8220;not evidence-based.&#8221; The science shifted, apparently, as we&#8217;ve seen so often. 
Indeed, around the year that report aired — 2010 — federal funding for abstinence-only education began to wane under the Obama administration. Donald Trump brought it back to an extent. Then the Biden administration limited this funding again, though not as much as many Leftists were hoping.
Throughout all of this back-and-forth, pretty much the only group that&#8217;s remained consistent have been Christian conservatives. We&#8217;ve warned, for decades, that hookup culture will create many catastrophic problems in society. We promoted chastity and abstinence before marriage as the only workable alternative. That&#8217;s a position we took based on Scripture, based on thousands of years of human history, and based on plain old common sense. And for that, we were dismissed and mocked as out of touch and prudish and archaic and old fashioned, again and again, over the past several decades. 
What&#8217;s interesting about all of this mockery is that now — at long last — many of the same people who dismissed Christian conservatives are now coming around to basically agreeing with us. They&#8217;re conceding that abstinence until marriage makes sense, actually. The catch is that they&#8217;re doing it for all the wrong reasons.
New York Magazine&#8217;s &#8220;The Cut&#8221; just published an <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240622140615/https://www.thecut.com/article/women-celibate-dating-sex.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> outlining the new pro-abstinence trend that&#8217;s now so popular among young people. It&#8217;s <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240622140615/https://www.thecut.com/article/women-celibate-dating-sex.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entitled</a>, &#8220;A Summer Without Sex: Celibacy is all the rage right now.&#8221;

<blockquote>Today, celebrities including Khloé Kardashian, Lenny Kravitz, Julia Fox, Kate Hudson, and Tiffany Haddish have touted the benefits of celibacy. Melissa Febos &#8230; is coming out with another memoir next year called &#8216;The Dry Season,&#8217; about a year of conscious celibacy. Other women are celebrating their dry seasons too, even to the point of competitiveness.</blockquote>
The report <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240622140615/https://www.thecut.com/article/women-celibate-dating-sex.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continues</a>:
<blockquote>This Great Abstaining comes amid any number of moral panics about sex, mainly related to young people: They’re texting instead of hooking up, they’re getting off the apps, they’re forgoing marriage and children, they’re deemphasizing traditional romance and instead prioritizing platonic friendships like codependent but chaste Victorian pen pals.</blockquote>
Among the reasons for this “Great Abstaining,” according to the Cut, is that many women all over the world are drawing inspiration from the &#8220;radical-feminist South Korean 4B movement.&#8221;
Women who participate in this &#8220;4B movement&#8221; promise not to do four things: date men, have sex with men, give birth, or get married. Of course, attitudes like this are only making South Korea&#8217;s population crisis even worse. The country&#8217;s birth rate is well below replacement level, and dropping fast. That&#8217;s not going to improve if no one marries or has children. But the media is presenting this as some kind of feminist victory for South Korea, even though South Korea may not exist for very long if it keeps up. South Korea’s great achievement is embracing its own extinction, we’re told.

Take this article from Vogue, for example. They just came out with a similar piece praising women for their newfound love of celibacy. They <a href="https://www.vogue.com/article/why-are-we-all-talking-about-celibacy-lenny-kravitz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>:
<blockquote>Is sex-free living going to be a thing? Could it actually be liberating to take the sex out of every equation? Are we entering a second wave of sexual emancipation in which one can simply opt out altogether? Maybe this summer can be a mini-break from the near-constant awareness of our own sexuality, of how (or whether) we attract. A vacation from transmitting and receiving sexual triggers. Will more of us be looking back on 2024 as the summer I turned sexless? No more afternoon delights, no more holiday romances—a veritable Celibacy and the City.</blockquote>
It&#8217;s kind of amazing to see Vogue discover that, in fact, women can &#8220;opt out&#8221; of having random sex with strangers. This is a whole new level of &#8220;sexual emancipation,&#8221; they say. No one has ever raised this possibility before. You can actually just not give yourself away to any random dude who vaguely shows interest. This is breaking news, courtesy of Vogue magazine: Women have free will. Can you believe it?
Several other outlets have been reporting on the same trend for more than a year now, in an equally shocked tone. The Independent, for example, <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/love-sex/celibacy-dating-abstinence-b2260133.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> last year that, &#8220;Celibacy has become all the rage among young people.&#8221; According to the Independent:
<blockquote>In recent years, &#8216;self-love&#8217; has been parodied as much as embraced. But the shift towards celibacy seems to have come from it. &#8230; The benefits from a period of celibacy are endless because, ultimately, it’s about self-development. And that’s a practice that will always provide some sort of enlightenment – regardless of your relationship status.</blockquote>
Imagine that. &#8220;The benefits from a period of celibacy are endless.&#8221; Again, across virtually all of the corporate press this is presented as something that&#8217;s just being discovered now. 
The Guardian, to give another example, <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/may/21/celibacy-hetrosexual-women-boysober-4b-sex-positive-feminism" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> that &#8220;Sex-positive feminism had its moment – and now it has been replaced by voluntary celibacy.&#8221; That&#8217;s quite a headline from The Guardian, considering it was just a decade ago that The Guardian was running articles with <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/sep/24/moral-case-for-sex-before-marriage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">titles</a> like, &#8220;The moral case for sex before marriage.&#8221;
Reversals like this are everywhere all of a sudden. In recent years, outlets like <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/12/style/modern-love-why-i-took-a-vow-of-celibacy.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a> and <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/life-style/sex-relationships/article/im-26-and-ive-tried-the-celibacy-trend-v2c9qtvx0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Sunday Times</a> have published lengthy first-hand op-eds written by authors who have committed to celibacy. In particular, the Sunday Times declared that &#8220;Celibacy has had a reboot, with more people abstaining from sex than ever.&#8221; And it’s important to note, if it wasn’t clear already, that in virtually all of these cases we’re talking about unmarried people abstaining from sex — abstaining from hookup culture, in other words. This is the “reboot,” the “trend,” the bright new idea that the media is suddenly celebrating.
And the trend is not just a media creation. Researchers at the University of Michigan have been tracking the sexual behavior of high school graduates for the past two decades, going back to 2004. They&#8217;ve <a href="https://news.umich.edu/american-young-adults-report-having-fewer-sexual-partners-higher-rates-of-abstention/#:~:text=Among%2021%2Dto%2D30%2D,of%20just%20over%20a%20quarter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found:</a>
<blockquote>Among 21-to-30-year-old males, abstinence rose significantly between 2008 and 2020, from 14.4% to 23.5% — an increase of nearly two-thirds. Among females of the same age, abstinence also rose, though by less, rising from 12.8% in 2008 to 16.5% in 2020 — an increase of just over a quarter. &#8230; Young adult males now have a considerably higher rate of abstinence than young adult females.</blockquote>
There are obviously many factors that might explain this change. A lot of it is likely attributable to so-called involuntary celibacy. We know that, even as celibacy is becoming more common, chastity is becoming less common. The proliferation of internet porn makes that very clear.
So what’s happening here in many cases, it seems reasonable to conclude, is that many young single people have given up on finding love and commitment. They&#8217;ve despaired of ever forming a real romantic connection with anyone. So now they&#8217;re retreating into celibacy like a form of surrender.
The point is that it’s not an embrace of traditional values in most cases. They’ve ended up at the same place — abstinence — but have gotten there from a place of despair and defeat. 
In other cases, as in South Korea, people are apparently resorting to celibacy as some kind of strained, misguided political statement. Here&#8217;s someone by the name of Julia Fox, for instance:

As twisted as that logic is, it actually makes sense on some level. These people understand that abstinence until marriage is an expression of self-control. And they understand that there&#8217;s a lot of benefits to a society where people practice self-control. But because they&#8217;ve rejected the old code of sexual morality, they have to come up with these bizarre, incoherent rationalizations for returning to it. They have to pretend that &#8220;Roe v. Wade&#8221; is somehow relevant to whether they want to be sexually promiscuous or not. Or they have to pretend that celibacy is part of some newfound &#8220;sexual liberation&#8221; movement — that another wave of feminism is in progress, where women have discovered for the first time that they have free will.
Here’s the point in all of this. The old code of sexual morality that they rejected — the one that those Christian conservatives were promoting, while being mocked and dismissed for it — that code was grounded, all along, in the true and the beautiful: in human dignity, love, commitment, chastity. The great virtues.
Those who repudiated that message for the sake of lust and instant gratification now find themselves living sexless lives anyway. They chose the opposite lifestyle and found it unfulfilling, harmful, destructive, and severely depressing. This is precisely what Christian conservatives warned would happen. This is why we said that hook up culture is bad; that the correct order of events is to find someone, pledge your love and loyalty to them, marry them, and then be physically intimate with them. In other words, we were right all along.
But in all of the coverage of the &#8220;celibacy trend,&#8221; there is of course no acknowledgment of that fact. There&#8217;s no recognition that we had this whole thing figured out many generations ago — thousands of years ago, in fact.
Unless all of these newly &#8220;celibate&#8221; people realize that celibacy is more than a trend or a political statement — then the satisfaction that they all say they&#8217;re feeling right now will be short-lived. &#8220;The Great Abstaining,&#8221; as The Cut put it, will give way to more unhappiness and inevitably more hedonism in short order.
The only way out of this cycle is to recognize why Christian conservatives have been calling for abstinence until marriage for so long, and give them some credit for it. The Religious Right has been repeatedly and consistently mocked for predicting the future for the past several decades now. We’ve always been right. About everything. It&#8217;s time for everyone else to start listening.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-costner">Kevin Costner</a> finally broke his silence about those Jewel dating rumors and said there was no truth to them, making it clear that he and the singer are just friends.
During the 69-year-old actor’s appearance on the Sirius XM “The Howard Stern Show,” the host asked the superstar actor if he was in love and said he’d heard rumors that the “Yellowstone” star and singer — born Jewel Kilcher — were an item, <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/06/19/kevin-costner-insists-jewel-not-dating-friends-flirty-photo-trip/">TMZ</a> reported.
Costner said “no” to both questions, and said that those dating claims are nothing more than rumors.
“Jewel and I are friends,” Costner said. “We’ve never gone out. She’s special. And I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have.”
“She’s special, I mean she’s beautiful enough to go out with,” he added, noting that images that came out of the time they spent in December at Richard Branson’s Necker Island made it look like something it wasn’t. &#8220;I don’t want the press to ruin this for us.”
“Because I’ve had conversations with her text-wise … and so we have a friendship. We don’t have a romance. We’ve not dated. It’s just never happened for us,” Costner continued, noting that he’s had to explain to his kids that nothing is going on between them.

In April, <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/04/12/entertainment/jewel-breaks-her-silence-on-intense-kevin-costner-dating-rumors/">Jewel</a> didn’t confirm or deny the two were romantically involved months after photos surfaced of the two stars looking cozy at the Branson charity event in the Caribbean.
“He’s a great person,” the singer said. “The public fascination is intense for sure.”
In December, a <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/12/08/kevin-costner-jewel-dating-divorce-vacation-caribbean-necker-island/">TMZ</a> photo showed Costner with his arms wrapped around the 49-year-old singer while she was speaking at a microphone and appeared to be sitting on Costner’s lap at the event.
Sources told the outlet Costner and Kilcher — flew to the Caribbean together and stayed there after the event before flying back together as well.
“There was definitely something going on,” a source told the outlet. “They were flirty, and when they were together, it was like they both just lit up.”
In 2023, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kevin-costner-wins-court-battle-against-estranged-wife-after-judge-sides-with-him-on-child-support-payments">Costner</a> and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner finalized their divorce after nearly 18 years of marriage. The pair share three children together.
