Bill Clinton caused a minor commotion when he dropped by the pre-draft conference for the Dallas Cowboys. Owner Jerry Jones stopped the meeting to get up and go greet the former president, which led to many comments online about the 90s vibes given off by the whole interaction.
&#8220;President Clinton is coming through the door,&#8221; Jones can be heard saying in a clip of the conference that’s circulating online. 
&#8220;Uh,&#8221; the Dallas Morning News reporter said as Jones told him he could still ask a question. The camera then focused on Clinton entering the press room. Jones didn’t fully answer the reporter before making his way over to Clinton, stumbling on his way to greet the former president.

“Look at this right here,” Jones says with a laugh. “Come in this house. Yes sir, Mr. President.”
“This guy was recently named the second most American to have started with very little and have accomplished a lot. Look at him, it’s important. There’s a great story about him,” the Cowboys owner added.
&#8220;He&#8217;s been a wonderful, not only President, but friend over the years, and I&#8217;m really happy to have you here today,&#8221; Jones said. He also told Clinton it was “unquestionably” the largest press conference in the NFL.
&#8220;Thank you, I&#8217;m glad to see you,&#8221; Clinton said. &#8220;Have a good draft day.&#8221;
The Cowboys visited Clinton at the White House after their three Super Bowl wins in the 1990s. The last time Dallas took home the Lombardi Trophy was in 1996.
Jones recalled one of the visits, saying Clinton recited the entire roster of the Arkansas Razorbacks at the time. Clinton replied by saying it’s now “a different world.” Jones mentioned how difficult it would be to take the field in today&#8217;s college games, prompting Clinton to joke that he&#8217;d be the &#8220;late Jerry Jones&#8221; if he did.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland was found dead on Thursday morning after he fled from law enforcement, according to Texas authorities. He was 24 years old and in his second NFL season.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said that Kneeland died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after fleeing from state troopers who attempted to stop his vehicle for a traffic violation. After Kneeland got away from state troopers, his vehicle was found wrecked and abandoned, and the NFL player fled the scene on foot. Kneeland was found dead by DPS troopers at around 1:30 a.m.
Kneeland’s death came just three days after he scored his first touchdown in the NFL when he recovered a blocked punt in the end zone against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football.
“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning,” the team said in a statement. “Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”

Dispatch audio obtained by <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2025/11/06/marshawn-kneeland-dispatch-audio-texted-goodbye/?adid=social-tw">TMZ</a> revealed that Kneeland&#8217;s girlfriend and family were concerned about his wellbeing on Wednesday night after he reportedly texted them, saying &#8220;goodbye&#8221; and that he would &#8220;end it all.&#8221; Kneeland&#8217;s girlfriend also told police that Kneeland was armed and had a history of mental issues, according to the <a href="https://www.tmz.com/watch/marshawn-kneeland-dispatch-audio-11-06-2025/">dispatch audio</a>. The Plano Police Department said that officers responded to a &#8220;welfare concern&#8221; and checked an address associated with Kneeland at around 11:40 p.m., but did not make contact with him, The Dallas Morning News <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/cowboys/2025/11/06/dallas-cowboys-defensive-end-marshawn-kneeland-dies-at-24/">reported</a>.
Kneeland contributed in each of the team’s seven games this season, recording six total solo tackles and one sack. The Cowboys drafted Kneeland in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and attended Godwin Heights High School, where he set school records for tackles and sacks. Kneeland went on to play his entire college career at Western Michigan University and was named a second-team All-Mid-American Conference player in 2023.
In his rookie season in Dallas, Kneeland recorded 17 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and had a fumble recovery, despite missing six games with a knee injury.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of Cowboys’ Marshawn Kneeland,” the NFL <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/cowboys-dl-marshawn-kneeland-dies-age-24">said</a>. “We have been in contact with the Cowboys and have offered support and counseling resources.”
Kneeland’s agent, Jonathan Perzley, added, “I am shattered to confirm that my client and dearest friend Marshawn Kneeland passed away last night. I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys. Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field. To lose someone with his talent, spirit, and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words.”

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected early in the season opener Thursday night after he was caught spitting on Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
The incident occurred following the opening kickoff at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly. As some staff tended to an injured player, Carter was seen going helmet to helmet with Prescott. 
Carter was immediately hit with a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected from the game. An Eagles staffer escorted him off the field, with cameras following and announcers expressing their shock.

Footage later emerged showing Prescott spitting towards Carter first, which is why he claimed he retaliated. But the quarterback insists he was just spitting forward and not aiming at anyone.
“I was just looking at him and I was right here in between two linemen,” Prescott said of the incident. “I guess I needed to spit, and I wasn’t going to spit on my linemen, so I just spit ahead.”
“He asked or goes, ‘Are you trying to spit on me?’ At that point, I felt like he was insulting me,” the Cowboys quarterback continued. “I wouldn’t spit on somebody, and I’m damn sure not trying to spit on you, we’re trying to play a game… He just spit on me in that moment, and it was more of a surprise than anything. The refs obviously saw it and threw a flag. I was like, ‘Hell yeah, we get 15 yards to start the game off,’ I didn’t realize he was getting ejected. Unfortunate that he did and hell of a player.”
Carter issued an apology after the game. 
“You know it was a mistake that happened on my side, and it just won’t happen again,” Carter <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/eagles-dt-jalen-carter-ejected-before-playing-snap-after-spitting-on-cowboys-qb-dak-prescott-in-season-opener">told reporters</a> after the game. “I feel bad for just my teammates and the fans out there. You know, I’m doing it for them. I’m doing it for my family also but the fans, they show the most love. You heard them out there and not being able to start the game to finish the game just f*** me up, but it won’t happen again.”
Despite losing one of their best defensive players, the Eagles managed to eke out a win for week one, besting the Cowboys with a final score of 24-20.

Fox NFL broadcaster Jimmy Johnson said he’s made the “difficult decision” he’s been weighing for years and announced that he’s retiring.
During Johnson’s Monday appearance on “The Herd,” the former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys said after nearly three decades, he’s leaving the Fox Sports NFL show, <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jimmy-johnson-announces-retirement-from-fox-sports">NBC Sports</a> reported.
“I’ve made an extremely difficult decision,” Johnson said. “I’ve been thinking about it for the last four or five years, and I’ve decided to retire from Fox.”
“I’m gonna miss it, I’m gonna miss all the guys … but it has been a great run starting 31 years ago,” he added.

Johnson famously started commenting on what was happening during NFL games on Sundays, after walking away from coaching the Cowboys in March 1994. He then returned to coaching with the Miami Dolphins for a brief run from 1996-1999, before going back into the booth in 2002, per the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/jimmy-johnson-fox-nfl-retires-f4b6943415d3037e210becc9b098b311" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>.
&#8220;The Herd&#8221; host Colin Herd asked the 81-year-old former NFL coach, Hall of Famer, and two-time Super Bowl winner about taking on the role of coach behind the scenes on the show.
Johnson agreed and pointed out that it was because he watched those he worked with on the set, like Howie Long and Michael Strahan when they were coming up in the football world, before they became giants in the NFL.
“So, we are all very, very close,” the Fox sports commentator said. “Kurt Menefee [sportscaster], he was in Dallas when I was in Dallas. And so it was just natural for me to be somewhat of a coach … so I just kind of played the same role that I played for many, many years as a head football coach.”
Shortly after the news broke, Strahan shared a touching message on <a href="https://x.com/michaelstrahan/status/1896639546176991623">X</a> to his friend.
“Congratulations on your retirement @JimmyJohnson!&#8221; Strahan wrote. “It has been 17 seasons of fun and laughs sitting next to you. You’re truly one of a kind and thanks for being you and gifting me with one of the best friendships anyone could ever ask for.”
“Hope you enjoy fishing and drinking beers on the boat,” he added. “You deserve it, love you Coach!  @NFLonFOX.”

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is out — after five seasons with the Dallas team — after he and the team failed to come to terms on an agreement on the length of a new contract.
McCarthy — whose contract expires on Tuesday — is now free to look for a new team after the Cowboys finished the 2024 season with a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs, the <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/mike-mccarthy-will-not-return-as-cowboys-hc-as-sides-could-not-agree-on-new-deal">NFL reported</a>.
During the head coach’s time with the Cowboys, he had a 49-35 record during the regular season with three playoff appearances. Starting with the team in 2020, his first season was affected by QB Dak Prescott going down with a leg injury in week 5. However, the following year saw the Cowboys bounce back — and he had the first of three consecutive 12-5 seasons, nabbing two NFC East titles.
Last week, the Chicago Bears requested to interview him, but Dallas, at the time, declined the request. The New Orleans Saints have also shown an interest, per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

A sexual assault lawsuit against Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has been dismissed by a Texas judge after a woman accused the NFL player of allegedly assaulting her in 2017.
On Wednesday, Collin County Judge Angela Tucker dismissed the suit after Dallas police announced in May it had found &#8220;insufficient evidence&#8221; to charge Prescott or support a case against the Cowboys star, <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40440645/judge-drops-civil-lawsuit-cowboys-dak-prescott">ESPN</a> reported. The suit was filed in Collin County after a similar one in Dallas county was dropped.
Earlier this year attorneys Bethen and Yoel Zehaie sent a letter on behalf of the woman who claimed Prescott assaulted her in the back of a car in a strip club parking lot. In the letter she said she was &#8220;willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered,” putting the value at $100 million, the outlet noted.
Prescott denied the claims and filed a countersuit against the woman and her attorneys, as well as extortion charges, all of which remain active, ESPN noted.

&#8220;Despite [the woman&#8217;s] and her legal team&#8217;s relentless efforts to extort money and damage Dak&#8217;s reputation, justice has consistently prevailed and will continue to do so,&#8221; Prescott&#8217;s attorney, Levi G. McCathern, said in a statement to the outlet.
“The original lies by (the accuser), her team, and their recent failed attempt to sue him civilly are all just a continuation of their extortion plot against Dak,” McCathern said in a statement to <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2024/06/26/dak-prescott-sexual-assault-lawsuit-against-cowboys/74226268007/">USA TODAY</a> Sports.
“These ploys distract from the trauma of legitimate sexual assault survivors and undermine the progress that our society has made in supporting them,” the statement added.
Judge Tucker also set a hearing in September to determine if legal sanctions will be taken against the accuser and her attorneys, the outlet noted.
In 2023, Prescott led the NFL with the most touchdown passes and was second in MVP voting. He was drafted in fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Cowboys. During his career he’s won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award and has been selected three times for the Pro-Bowl, USA Today noted.
The Cowboys QB is in his final season of a four year deal worth $160 million, the outlet noted.

Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame offensive lineman Larry Allen passed away unexpectedly over the weekend while on vacation with his family in Mexico. He was 52 years old.
The 6&#8217;3&#8221;, 330-pound, 11-time Pro Bowl pick is widely considered to be one of the best offensive lineman in the history of the National Football League. He was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
He played most of his career with the Cowboys from 1994 to 2005 and played his final two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
&#8220;Larry, known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, was one of the most respected, accomplished offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL,&#8221; the team said in a statement. &#8220;His versatility and dependability were also signature parts of his career. And Abbott wasn&#8217;t the only person who criticized the Cowboys&#8217; kicker. Several accounts flooded the social media platform with videos and memes mocking Maher.

Maher has struggled in the playoffs this season, missing five extra point attempts in the past two games, including four on January 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He has the second most missed extra point attempts in NFL playoff history.
However, the Cowboys kicker did manage to nail two field goals on Sunday, a 25-yarder in the third quarter and a 43-yarder in the fourth. He has made 12 consecutive field goal attempts.

Hooker had recovered a fumble from Tampa Bay wide receiver Chris Goodwin in the third quarter and was heading upfield when Tampa Bay wide receiver Julio Jones tackled him as Brady attempted to take Hooker’s legs out from under him. The Buccaneers ultimately lost the game, 31-14, marking the end of the 45-year-old’s season and possibly the end of his storied career.

“It’s a dirty play from Brady. Filthy. Unacceptable,” Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk <a href="https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/17/tom-brady-gets-away-with-a-dirty-move-for-now/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reacted</a>, adding, “Brady has, in the past, used his shoe as a weapon when sliding. A decade ago, he was fined $10,000 for putting a foot in the crotch of Ravens safety Ed Reed. Brady has done similar things since then, without incident.”
At the time of Brady’s slide, the Cowboys led 24-0. In the first half, Brady had been held to 11-of-23 passing for only 96 yards. Generally, the kind of slide that Brady executed would warrant a penalty.
Last February 1, Brady officially announced his retirement from football.
“I have always believed the sport of football is an ‘all-in’ proposition – if a 100% competitive commitment isn’t there, you won’t succeed and success is what I love so much about our game,” Brady <a href="https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/1488521931158695940?s=27" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> in an Instagram post. “There is a physical, mental, and emotional challenge EVERY single day that has allowed me to maximize my highest potential. And I have tried my very best these past 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life.”
“This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore,” Brady continued. “I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”
But in March, 40 days after he had announced his retirement, Brady said he would play a 23rd season.
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” Brady tweeted. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG.”

Dak Prescott had a hell of a game on Monday night in the dispatching of Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but make no mistake, that has not been nor will be the norm.
Prescott has been the model of inconsistency in his career, including the playoffs, and now they’re going on the road to face the most consistent team the league has to offer in the San Francisco 49ers.
Even with rookie quarterback Brock Purdy — who is balling by the way — the 49ers have more pieces than a big ass puzzle.
But it all goes back to me not trusting Dak.
After the Cowboys loss to the Jags, he was the league leader in interception percentage while playing in way less games than pretty much everyone else.
Listen, Dak had a great game against the Bucs: He threw for 305 yards, was 25 of 33 for a 76% completion rate, averaged over nine yards per completion and had one rushing touchdown.
The last time he threw for over 300 yards was at home against the Eagles.
But all that was accomplished against a dysfunctional team with Tom Brady on his way out and coach Todd Bowles most likely on his way out as well.
From a purely analytical perspective, I don’t trust Dak to have a similar performance against the 49ers the same game as he did against the Bucs.
Coming off his best games, Dak tends to turn the ball over in follow up games — at least twice.
Also Dak has what I call the Carson Wentz syndrome — when it goes bad, it doesn’t just go bad, it goes “five alarm fire” bad. Dak doesn’t just make mistakes, he makes catastrophic mistakes and we have seen it in crucial moments down the stretch.
He still has never made it past the divisional round and is 2-3 in the playoffs, and even though he was efficient and effective against the Bucs, I don’t trust him against a team that isn’t dysfunctional.
But the Cowboys have a great defense, you say. Yes, but it’s not yet at the level of the Ray Lewis Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl winning defense. That defense made Trent Dilfer look good. And the Cowboys certainly don’t have a defense at the same level as the 49ers.
I like Dak Prescott. I like the way he handles his business. He’s the ultimate professional and you don’t hear about a lot of off-field drama. I just don’t see four great back-to-back quarters coming from Dak.
The Cowboys have a good defense and they have the pieces on offense around the quarterback, but in my opinion — and it’s nothing personal — they just don’t have a championship quarterback.
The San Francisco 49ers, on the other hand, are the most balanced team playing with the best personnel.

Buccaneers&#8217; QB Tom Brady thanked members of the press for their &#8220;effort&#8221; this year and said he was &#8220;very grateful&#8221; for everyone&#8217;s support as speculation mounts about his NFL future.
Following Monday Night&#8217;s playoff loss by Tampa Bay — where the Bucs fell to the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 — the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tom-brady">45-year-old QB</a> <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/tom-brady-sounds-less-like-hes-taken-his-last-snap-and-more-like-hes-uncertain-where-his-next-one-will-be-060546366.html">spoke to the media</a> about the game and said he knew that in that moment, the better team on the field had won.  He also made some comments that have many thinking that if it was not his last game in the league, it quite possibly could have been his last one wearing a Bucs jersey.
&#8220;Not the way we wanted to end it, but we didn&#8217;t deserve it,&#8221; Brady shared. &#8220;I give them a lot of credit. They played a good game. Made a lot more plays than we did, so a tough night.&#8221;

The 23-year veteran made headlines a year ago when he announced he was finally walking away from the game. But 40 days later he reversed that decision and returned to play with the Bucs for another season, <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35464228/tom-brady-says-no-table-decision-bucs-eliminated">ESPN</a> noted.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/get-your-fing-act-together-tom-brady-rips-into-offensive-line-during-ugly-loss-to-steelers">Super Bowl-winning QB</a> finished the year with an average of 9.6 yards per completion, the lowest of his career and second-lowest in the NFL, <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/tom-brady-sounds-less-like-hes-taken-his-last-snap-and-more-like-hes-uncertain-where-his-next-one-will-be-060546366.html">Yahoo.com</a> noted. His contract will soon expire with a &#8220;no-tag&#8221; clause, ESPN noted. At the age of 45 he will then become an unrestricted free agent unless the Bucs can re-sign him. Otherwise, he&#8217;s free to sign with any team, if he chooses to stay in the league and keep playing.

ESPN commentator <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/peyton-manning-offers-hilarious-advice-to-tom-brady-on-retirement-during-snl-skit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Peyton Manning</a> and his brother Eli were clearly taken aback when Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher missed his third consecutive extra point during Monday&#8217;s playoff game.
The Cowboys came out on top regardless — besting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 31-14 — but by the time Maher whiffed his third kick, Manning was ready to pull him from the game even though his team was winning 18-0 at the time.

&#8220;You have got to be kidding me!&#8221; Manning stood up and walked out of frame, visibly frustrated as Maher missed the kick. &#8220;Why are we kicking it?! Why are we kicking it?!&#8221;
ESPN panned to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who also appeared to be annoyed by the turn of events.
&#8220;He can’t believe it. Talk about a buzz-kill,&#8221; Eli Manning said of Jones. &#8220;No one’s ever missed three extra points in a row. Gotta be a record.&#8221;
&#8220;Can you cut a guy at halftime of a playoff game?&#8221; Peyton asked.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott defended Maher after the game, however, noting that he himself had played poorly in recent weeks.

&#8220;Yeah, I mean, I&#8217;m Money Maher&#8217;s biggest fan,&#8221; Prescott said. &#8220;I talked to him individually, just told him after the game, &#8216;He let that go, we&#8217;re going to need it.&#8217; I just played like s*** a week ago, so I mean, that happens.&#8221;
Prescott went on to say that he believed Maher was absolutely capable of letting it go and doing better when he came back for the next game.
&#8220;Knowing what that guy&#8217;s done, with the resiliency he&#8217;s shown throughout his career, personally, no doubt that he&#8217;ll come back next week and be perfect and help us win,&#8221; Prescott added.
Maher ultimately missed four extra points during Monday&#8217;s game.

Up until Monday&#8217;s game, Maher had been having a good season — nailing 50 of 53 extra point attempts — but the <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/cowboys-brett-maher-misses-nfl-record-4-extra-points-023951271.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">four misses</a> landed him in the NFL record books for most extra point misses in a playoff game.
&#8220;They might be looking for a kicker next week,&#8221; ESPN commentator and former Cowboy Troy Aikman responded after Maher missed the fourth.
