A North Carolina cosmetic surgery clinic appears to have performed gender surgery on girls as young as 14.
The Cosmetic Concierge, a plastic surgery clinic in Charlotte, performed elective double mastectomies on teen patients, including at least one 14-year-old, Reduxx <a href="https://reduxx.info/north-carolina-cosmetic-surgery-clinic-reportedly-operated-on-14-year-old-transgender-patient/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
This month, screenshots of &#8220;before and after&#8221; photos on the clinic&#8217;s website were posted on Twitter, prompting outrage from social media users. The images showed the results of “top surgery” procedures, which remove the healthy breasts of females who desire a more masculine appearance. The photos also included the ages of the patients, some of whom were listed as 14, 15, and 16.

The clinic appears to have removed the photos from its website. An archived version of the page from January 22 showed the images present on the site, Reduxx reported.
Under the clinic&#8217;s Frequently Asked Questions, it <a href="https://www.cosmeticconciergemd.com/consultations-faq" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> minor patients need parental consent as well as a therapist&#8217;s recommendation for &#8220;gender confirming&#8221; procedures.
&#8220;When considering gender confirming procedures for patients under the age of 18, we do require the consent of a parent or guardian along with the recommendation of a therapist,&#8221; the clinic writes.
However, the clinic &#8220;no longer&#8221; requires a &#8220;specific time on hormones&#8221; prior to female-to-male or male-to-female chest surgery of body sculpting. The clinic uses the &#8220;informed consent model for those procedures.&#8221;
Dr. Hope Sherie has operated the clinic since 2014. Sherie is a former Air Force surgeon.

Sherie sponsors Point of Pride, a nonprofit that provides funds to trans-identifying people for gender surgery, among other services.
Point of Pride <a href="https://www.cosmeticconciergemd.com/dr-sherie-sponsors-point-of-pride-annual-transgender-surgery-fund" target="_blank" rel="noopener">thanked</a> Sherie and her team for their &#8220;generous support&#8221; of Point of Pride’s Annual Transgender Surgery Fund and its other services.
Point of Pride provides free &#8220;binders,&#8221; or chest compression garments, for trans-identifying girls who want to crush their breasts to look more male. While the group notes that kids 13 and younger need parental consent to get a binder, the form to request reportedly allows kids to put whatever age they want with no verification.
The debate around minors and gender surgery and treatments has picked up steam in the last year as parents and medical professionals expressed concern about the ability of a child to consent to these medical interventions, which they say are permanent and life-changing.
So far, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/here-are-the-states-with-restrictions-on-medical-child-sex-changes">13 states</a> have banned gender surgery for minors, and some have banned puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
North Carolina introduced several bills last week that would ban gender-related medical intervention for minors. The state recently snagged a Republican supermajority when Democrat state House Representative Tricia Cotham <a href="https://apnews.com/article/cotham-north-carolina-party-switch-republican-abe32788b89eba63cffd68917b8bb5d7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> she was switching her party affiliation from Democrat to Republican.

North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn was cited for carrying a loaded gun at a Charlotte airport, marking the second time the congressman has been found with a firearm while attempting to board a plane.
Cawthorn&#8217;s citation was <a href="https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/sources-rep-madison-cawthorn-cited-having-gun-charlotte-douglas/6TXLJM4MJZAB3NXHEA7UNKMJ5E/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first reported</a> by WSOC-TV, which cited local sources noting the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reportedly declined to comment on the alleged incident.
&#8220;It’s unclear if Cawthorn will face any criminal charges. A spokesperson for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department couldn’t immediately comment,&#8221; the outlet <a href="https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/sources-rep-madison-cawthorn-cited-having-gun-charlotte-douglas/6TXLJM4MJZAB3NXHEA7UNKMJ5E/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;The TSA does not release passenger information in any incident,&#8221; the TSA <a href="https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article260774752.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in an email to the Charlotte Observer.
Cawthorn could be fined up to $13,000 if found guilty of the gun violation.

The reported violation marks the second time the North Carolina congressman has been cited with a firearm at an airport.
In July, a report by WCNC-TV Charlotte revealed that Cawthorn was attempting to board a plane in Asheville, North Carolina, when TSA officials found an unloaded Glock 9mm handgun along with a loaded magazine in his carry-on.
&#8220;Audio recordings of law enforcement at the airport confirm that Cawthorn attempted to bring the gun through security with only minutes remaining before the flight (“…seven minutes until his flight…”) but that TSA staff detected the gun and detained him,&#8221; the <a href="https://firemadison.com/congressman-david-madison-cawthorn-caught-trying-to-take-a-glock-firearm-on-commercial-flight/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> revealed.
The incident led police to question Cawthorn. Law enforcement reportedly secured the gun and wrote a report, though the congressman was not charged or fined.
Cawthorn was also reportedly found <a href="https://wlos.com/news/local/no-charges-after-cawhtorn-accused-of-taking-knife-to-school-board-meeting">carrying</a> a large knife when appearing to address the Henderson County Public Schools Administrative Offices in Hendersonville, North Carolina, in September, a <a href="https://www.wcnc.com/article/news/regional/madison-cawthorn-north-carolina-gun-asheville/275-9ea8366b-7e38-4708-823f-bebfcab0b542" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Class 1 misdemeanor</a>.
The concerns regarding weapons are the latest among a series of growing problems for the young political leader. Last week, a newly-released police dashcam video revealed that Cawthorn had been pulled over with an invalid driver&#8217;s license.

The traffic stop reportedly occurred on March 3, and Cawthorn was reportedly pulled over for slightly veering out of his lane. He was asked to switch seats with the passenger of the vehicle after his expired license was discovered. The congressman was also reportedly driving with an expired license plate tag.
The GOP House member was <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10737653/Madison-Cawthorn-pulled-cops-asked-hand-revoked-license-new-dashcam-video.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">also charged</a> for driving with a revoked license in 2017.

Rowdy protesters intimidated people eating at a restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday night as they made a mess in the streets.
&#8220;The second night of protests against the Republican National Convention in Charlotte saw at least 100 people march in uptown then through part of South End,&#8221; The Charlotte Observer <a href="https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/local/article245165935.html">reported</a>. &#8220;Several arrests were made after midnight. The night’s protests were overwhelmingly non-violent but, at times, tense. Police used pepper spray on the crowd multiple times.&#8221;
The protesters chanted, “White silence equals violence!” and “No Trump, no KKK, no racist USA!” while marching through the streets near what appeared to be a shopping center.

They were also marching against President Trump and against police.&#8221;
&#8220;Charlotte Uprising spent several hours going over tricks on how to relieve their eyes if they are tear-gassed, and they are giving out numbers to call if any of them get arrested,&#8221; the local news station added. &#8220;Later in the evening, the group continued its protest against the RNC.&#8221;
A report from Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/guide-to-the-2020-rnc">outlined</a> the Republican National Committee&#8217;s (RNC) basic layout at their convention this week in Charlotte:
<blockquote>The official party business, including the official nominating of Trump to represent the party on the presidential ballot, will take place in Charlotte. Just six delegates from each state will attend, including two from each state who will set on the all-important Committee on Credentials, which officially seats the party&#8217;s delegates.
There will also be various training sessions and meetings for party leaders, and a possible visit from Trump, who will be in North Carolina on other business Monday.
A top Trump campaign official told Fox News that &#8220;we&#8217;re having calls about that today&#8221; when asked on Friday about a potential Trump appearance in Charlotte on Monday.
The business in Charlotte will take place at the Charlotte Convention Center. Attendees were provided with self-swab coronavirus tests before going to the convention and are being tested again with a nasal swab test when they arrive. Masks are mandatory, and social-distancing protocols, including chairs being placed 6 feet apart from each other, will be observed. In addition, the RNC will give each convention attendee badges to assist with contact tracing.
The agenda for the Charlotte convention, obtained by Fox News, indicates a strict stance on potential coronavirus spread.</blockquote>
The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-convention-reboot/2020/08/22/498f1bec-e417-11ea-b69b-64f7b0477ed4_story.html">reported</a> that the RNC convention&#8217;s &#8220;marquee speeches&#8221; will take place &#8220;Thursday night on the South Lawn of the White House.&#8221;

On Friday, the Republican National Committee announced it had selected Charlotte, North Carolina as the host of the 2020 Republican National Convention. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stated, &#8220;I am thrilled to announce Charlotte as the official host city for the 2020 Republican National Convention. We look forward to seeing the Queen City take center stage as the Republican Party re-nominates President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to continue fighting for the American people.&#8221;
RNC Site Selection Chairman Ron Kaufman echoed, &#8220;Charlotte has so much to offer, and we are excited to bring delegates to a city that has demonstrated its southern hospitality, showcased its vibrant energy, and proven that possibilities are endless.&#8221;
The vote by the RNC was unanimous, according to <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/07/20/rnc-chooses-charlotte-to-host-2020-convention.html">Fox News</a>, which quoted Tom Murray, the CEO of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority CEO, asserting that Charlotte is ready for the &#8220;tremendous responsibility&#8221; of welcoming 35,000 visitors and &#8220;can&#8217;t wait to get started.&#8221;
The Charlotte City Council <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/charlotte-host-2020-republican-national-convention/story?id=56713099">barely got the votes</a> approving the RNC&#8217;s request, only voting 6-5 in favor of the RNC being held there. A fierce argument was precipitated by the idea of hosting the RNC, even Democrat Larken Egleston, who cast the deciding vote in favor of hosting the GOP, said, &#8220;hosting the RNC in Charlotte in no way implies our endorsement of this president.&#8221; Another council member, Justin Harlow, said he&#8217;d &#8220;no sooner bring Donald Trump to Charlotte &#8230; than I&#8217;d welcome a Klan rally to Charlotte.&#8221;

The visitors bureau for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina paid $30,000 to build a <a href="https://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2012/09/giant_obama_sand_sculpture_sta.html">25-foot sand sculpture</a> of former President Barack Obama that sat a few blocks from the convention hall.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, where the 2012 Democratic National Convention was held, some Democratic City Council members are voicing their opposition to hosting the 2020 Republican National Convention, and may tank the idea later this month when the issue comes to a vote.
The Republican National Committee will convene in Austin July 17-20; Charlotte city officials believe the GOP&#8217;s site selection committee may award the 2020 convention to Charlotte, according to the <a href="https://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/article214376054.html">Charlotte Observer</a>.
That prospect does not please some of the 11 members of the city council, nine of whom happen to be Democrats. Council member LaWana Mayfield said under other circumstances she would support hosting the RNC, but not with Trump as head of the GOP. She cited his &#8220;hostility towards minorities and people of color.&#8221; Democrat Justin Harlow added, &#8220;I would consider voting no. I have had constituents who have reached out about this. A lot has changed. Months ago, we weren&#8217;t pulling children away from their families at the border.&#8221;
At-large council member Democrat Braxton Winston stated on Facebook that Charlotte needed to cautiously weigh the decision to accept the bid, writing, &#8220;Bringing the Republican National Convention to Charlotte is/should be more than an economic development decision, We would be asking the people of Charlotte to host a celebration for a brand of politics that has been highly divisive and some would say dangerous to our community.&#8221;
Democrat Larken Egleston added, &#8220;I&#8217;m not 100 percent there (on the convention). But I do think we&#8217;re at a point in the process where it&#8217;s like the toll roads. You get to a point where the negatives of pulling the rug out from something has to be seriously considered.&#8221;
In February, Mayor Vi Lyles stated the city was bidding on the RNC.
By contrast, as the Observer notes, &#8220;When the city was awarded the 2012 Democratic National Convention in January 2011, Mayor Anthony Foxx and council members were holding their annual budget retreat at Johnson C. Smith University. They celebrated the news, and then quickly called a special meeting and voted unanimously to accept the convention.&#8221;

Charlotte’s Dem Council Members May Pull Their Bid For 2020 GOP Convention Because Of Trump

In a lengthy press conference on Wednesday, Mecklenburg County District Attorney Andrew Murray said that black Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Officer Brentley Vinson was justified in shooting black suspect Keith Lamont Scott on the 20th of September during an encounter at an apartment complex parking lot.
Murray detailed the findings of a two-month long investigation showing that Scott was carrying a gun during the fateful encounter.
&#8220;All the credible evidence&#8221; demonstrated that Scott was armed. The suspect&#8217;s DNA was identified on the weapon found at the scene of the shooting. In addition, Murray said that three police officers told investigators that Scott was armed.
Finally, surveillance video captured at a convenience show Scott visited prior to the shooting showed a bulge around his ankle. That bulge matched the description officers provided of the way Scott&#8217;s weapon was holstered.
All of this flies directly in the face of a false narrative started by Scott&#8217;s family, which insisted that Scott was unarmed and as a result his shooting was unlawful. The family pointed to dashcam footage at the time which failed to show the suspect wielding a weapon. The problem with the dascham footage was that the angle didn&#8217;t show the full picture. Images released by the police in the days following the incident showed Scott&#8217;s gun at the scene.
Yet again, the false, recycled narrative, or &#8220;erroneous claims&#8221; as Murray called it, of an unarmed black man being shot by a police officer proved destructive. When Black Lives Matter activists picked up on the Scott shooting and began propagandizing based on the Scott family&#8217;s false claims, rioters were given the green light to sack the city of Charlotte.
In the days following the Scott shooting, rioters amassed to destroy property, harass and attack police with burning materials found on the streets, and brutally beat journalists. Hundreds of rioters shouted &#8220;black lives matter&#8221; as they destroyed their own city.
&#8220;They worked their mayhem &#8212; trashing businesses and injuring cops, with one protester killed in the disorder &#8212; before anything meaningful could be ascertained about the case except that the cops said Scott had a gun and his family said he didn&#8217;t,&#8221; Rich Lowry <a href="http://nypost.com/2016/09/26/charlotte-rioters-dont-care-if-shooting-was-justified/">reported</a> for The New York Post in an article published on September 26. &#8220;Charlotte is the latest episode in the evidence-free Black Lives Matter movement that periodically erupts in violence after officer-involved shootings. The movement is beholden to a narrative of systematic police racism to which every case is made to conform, regardless of the facts or logic.&#8221;
At the time, residents described the streets of Charlotte as a warzone overtaken by fanatics keen on enforcing mob justice.
Now, as all the evidence and facts have been brought to light, will BLM-inspired rioters apologize? Will they apologize to Officer Vinson, whose name as been dragged through the mud? Will they apologize to the residents of Charlotte for destroying the city? Will the overpaid liberal pundits apologize for egging on the rioters with hyperbole about &#8220;police brutality?&#8221; 
Probably not.
In this post-truth society, feelings subsume facts.

Prosecutors Shut Down False BLM Narrative In Keith Lamont Scott Shooting That Led To Violent Riots

Sunday, the day after an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department shot and killed armed black teenager Carnell Snell Jr., two LAPD officers shot and killed an unidentified Hispanic teenager. It wasn&#8217;t until Thursday that the coroner identified the body as that of Daniel Enrique Perez.
Following the shooting death of Perez, witness Tiffany Peterson <a href="http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-lapd-shooting-20161006-snap-story.html">claimed</a> she saw the officers shoot the teen, then open fire on him again after he was on the ground. Fortunately for the officers involved, they were wearing body cameras.
LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck said the footage corroborates the officers&#8217; account of the incident, and does not show Perez being shot on the ground.
Moreover, new evidence has emerged that paints a disturbing picture of Daniel Perez&#8217;s state of mind prior to his death.
According to Chief Beck, approximately twenty minutes before the shooting, Perez called 911, telling the operator that a man matching his own description was brandishing a firearm. When officers arrived, Perez allegedly pulled out a fake gun, having covered the orange tip with black marker or tape. Because the orange identifier was covered up, the officers believed Perez was pointing a real gun at them, and shot him.
Samuel Walker, a retired criminal justice professor, said that if a police officer feels an imminent threat to his life, he will shoot to kill because that&#8217;s what cops are trained to do. &#8220;Hitting them in the arm or leg, that only happens in the movies. It&#8217;s pure Hollywood,&#8221; Walker told <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/protesters-gather-los-angeles-fatal-police-shooting-42525036">ABC News</a>.
In addition to the 911 call, Perez wrote a &#8220;farewell note&#8221; to his family, according to Beck, indicating a &#8220;desire to end his own life&#8221; at the hands of police.
Given the situation, it could only end one way. Perez appeared to pose an imminent threat, so he was shot.
Tiffany Peterson&#8217;s allegation regarding the cops shooting Perez on the ground brings to mind the Ferguson shooting, in which early eye-witness reports claimed &#8220;gentle giant&#8221; Michael Brown was surrendering with his hands up when he was shot.
Forensic evidence, as well as further testimony, proved that the &#8220;<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2015/03/19/hands-up-dont-shoot-did-not-happen-in-ferguson/">hands up, don&#8217;t shoot</a>&#8221; narrative that had spread like wildfire was patently false&#8211;but it was too late. Social media provided individuals with the platform to quickly disseminate false information, and so, &#8220;hands up, don&#8217;t shoot&#8221; became a revolution.

Similarly, in the case of Keith Lamont Scott, immediate reactions on social media led to protests, which led to mass riots in Charlotte, North Carolina. These riots caused extensive property damage, and dozens of civilian and police injuries. As more evidence continues to come in regarding the incident, the more it looks like the officers involved behaved appropriately given the situation.
As Jonathan Swift wrote in 1710, &#8220;Falsehood flies, and the truth comes limping after it; so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale has had its effect.&#8221;
Fortunately, Peterson&#8217;s false claim about police cruelty didn&#8217;t fly across social media, so riots were avoided.

<a href="http://bluelivesmatter.blue/">Blue Lives Matter</a>, a law enforcement organization, is accusing CNN of deceptively editing the cellphone video taken by Keith Lamont Scott&#8217;s widow, Rakeyia Scott, the day her husband was shot by police in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Here&#8217;s CNN&#8217;s edited version of the Scott video:

In the unedited version, police officers can be heard telling Scott to &#8220;drop the gun&#8221; a minimum of 11 times. In the edited version, every single call by the officers to &#8220;drop the gun&#8221; is omitted.
Blue Lives Matter released a <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/10/04/bias-alert-police-group-accuses-cnn-deceptive-edit-charlotte-shooting.html">statement</a> that reads in part:

&#8220;The editing was clearly intended to give viewers the impression that Scott wasn&#8217;t armed. By intentionally excluding information to promote the false narrative that the officer-involved shooting of Keith Scott was unjustified, CNN directly contributed towards inciting violence and destruction in the Charlotte riots. Innocent citizens were hurt during the Charlotte riots, but editing like this also incites violence against police officers long after the riots are over.&#8221;

This isn&#8217;t the first time CNN has been accused of selective editing as it relates to race issues.
In August, following the shooting death of Sylville Smith in Milwaukee, CNN played a clip of Smith&#8217;s sister &#8220;<a href="http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/kristine-marsh/2016/08/15/cnn-selectively-edits-police-shooting-victims-sisters-words">calling for peace</a>&#8220;:

In reality, CNN left out a critical part of Smith&#8217;s words:

This type of bias by omission isn&#8217;t uncommon. Other media outlets have made similar edits to serve a racism-based narrative.
After George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin in 2012, NBC selectively edited Zimmerman&#8217;s 911 call, making him appear racist:

The suit was eventually dismissed.

The city of Charlotte, North Carolina has been ablaze with rioting and looting after the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, a black man, by police officer Brentley Vinson, who is also a black man.
So what exactly happened at this shooting? Here are nine things you need to know about it.
1. Scott has an extensive criminal record. Scott&#8217;s record shows him being found guilty of or pleading guilty to the following, according to <a href="http://thefederalist.com/2016/09/23/felony-record-casts-doubt-black-lives-matter-narrative-nc-shooting/">The Federalist</a>:
<ul>
<li>Assault with a deadly weapon and avoiding arrest in 2005.</li>
<li>Misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon in 2004.</li>
<li>Carrying a concealed weapon, assault, and helping the delinquency of a minor in 1992.</li>
</ul>
There were also a myriad charges in these cases that were later dismissed, including threats, assault on a female and a minor under 12 years of age and illegally carrying a weapon.
2. A report has surfaced that Scott&#8217;s wife filed for a restraining order against him not long ago:

3. There are two different stories being told about what happened. The police officers involved had an arrest warrant ready for someone when Scott exited the car, then went back into it when he saw the police. The police attempted to arrest Scott by using &#8220;a baton to &#8216;breach the window&#8217; of the SUV&#8221; Scott was in, according to <a href="http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/charlotte-police-will-release-video-keith-lamont-scott-shooting-n653851">NBC News</a>, at which point police say he came out of the vehicle with a firearm. Scott&#8217;s family, on the other hand, has claimed that he was simply holding a book. Which one is correct?
4. The evidence points to Scott having a gun. The police released a couple of videos so far, which the Daily Wire&#8216;s Michael Qazvini detailed at length <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/9449/7-things-charlotte-police-just-released-about-michael-qazvini">here</a>. The videos aren&#8217;t necessarily conclusive that Scott was holding a gun, but they do show the police repeatedly ordering Scott to &#8220;drop the gun&#8221; as he backed up and refused to comply with the police&#8217;s orders. <a href="http://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2016/09/26/cmpd-body-camera-video-capture-keith-lamont-scott-gun-hand/">Bob Owens</a> at Bearing Arms thinks that an ankle holster can be seen on Scott as well as him holding a <a href="http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/01/daniel-zimmerman/gun-review-colt-mustang-mark-iv-series-80-plus-ii/">Colt Mustang Plus II</a>.
Regardless, <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/9382/heres-photo-keith-scotts-gun-%E2%80%93-one-his-family-said-james-barrett">a gun was indeed found</a> at the scene of the shooting by the police that had Scott&#8217;s DNA on it, but no book was found. 
5. This would mean that Scott was carrying the gun illegally. It is illegal under federal law to have a gun when convicted of a crime and sentenced to prison for over a year. Scott was sentenced to seven years in prison for his 2005 assault with a deadly weapon conviction.
6. Scott was also in possession of marijuana at the time. However, it was not the object of the officers&#8217; focus.
&#8220;Due to the combination of illegal drugs and the gun Mr. Scott had in his possession, officers decided to take enforcement action for public safety concerns,&#8221; the police involved stated.
7. If Scott had followed the federal gun laws&#8211;as well as the police&#8217;s orders&#8211;then maybe he would still be alive today. This is the point D.C. McAllister makes <a href="http://thefederalist.com/2016/09/23/felony-record-casts-doubt-black-lives-matter-narrative-nc-shooting/">here</a>.
8. Despite what the facts say, rioting and looting ensued in Charlotte following the Scott shooting. As documented <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/9382/heres-photo-keith-scotts-gun-%E2%80%93-one-his-family-said-james-barrett">here</a> and <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/9380/shooting-looting-assault-11-disturbing-videos-amanda-prestigiacomo">here</a>, there have been people&#8211;including a reporter&#8211;attacked, windows smashed and cars trashed in these riots. And it&#8217;s all because a black officer shot an armed black man.

8 Things You Need To Know About The Charlotte Shooting

Protesters in Charlotte, following the death of Keith L. Scott, shot by police, released a <a href="http://heatst.com/culture-wars/charlotte-protesters-release-demands-including-disarming-and-defunding-police/">list of demands</a> before they would cease their efforts at civil disturbance that had led to violence. <a href="http://www.charlotteuprising.com/uploads/4/7/0/1/47014619/cltuprisingstatement-5.pdf/">Heat Street</a> reported that rhe &#8220;CharLIT Uprising&#8221; said the &#8220;damage is done&#8221; and Charlotte would remain in a &#8220;state of emergency&#8221; until their demands are met.
The list reads as if it came straight from the Communist Manifesto. The document reads like this:

The ending of the state of emergency, curfew, and the removal of the national guard.
The immediate demilitarization of the police department and the immediate return of all military equipment.
The defunding of the police department and the redirecting of those resources to the needs of our communities, (including resources for jobs programs, affordable quality housing, transportation, holistic health, and quality schools.)
An independent investigation into the killing of Keith L. Scott and an investigation into the Charlotte Mecklenburg police department by the Department of Justice and a freeze on the nearly 1.5 million dollars awarded in federal grqants annually to the department.
A release of the police report and body camera footage connected with the killing of Keith L. Scott and all other killings to the public and the immediate repeal of HB. 972, which restricts the ability of the public to access police body camera footage.
The immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested in connection with the uprising connected with the killing of Keith L. Scott and the dropping of all charges.
The release of all the names of the officers involved in the killing of Keith L. Scott to the public followed by their firing, arrest, and prosecution.
Reparations for the family of Keith L. Scott and all victims of police violence as well as the families of those who have been killed.
Community control of the police, starting with the creation of a civilian oversight board that has the power to hire and fire officers determine disciplinary actions as well as dictate police policies, priorities and budgets. The board shall not include police representation and will be controlled by communities most impacted by policing and incarceration in Charlotte.
An end to the repression and targeting of protesters and all those engaged in the Charlotte uprising.

The protesters&#8217; news section, before it was removed, wrote that civilians wounded by gunfire on the first two nights of the riots were shot by police, but did not mention the violence perpetrated by protesters, according to Heat Street.

Charlotte Protesters Issue Insane List Of Demands

Less than a week after rioters nearly burned the city of Charlotte to the ground in a fury of mob violence over the shooting death of Keith Scott, an African-American man with a criminal history, police have released a substantial amount of evidence pertaining to the shooting. Police released most of the material on Saturday, quieting a medley of voices complaining about the department&#8217;s supposed lack of transparency. 
As television pundits on cable news networks continue to perpetuate the BLM myth that it&#8217;s open season on black men in America, it&#8217;s worth examining the concrete evidence at hand. 
Here are 7 things the Charlotte Police just released about the Keith Scott shooting:
1. Police released dashcam footage detailing the shooting death of Keith Scott. Here it is:

The video begins by showing plainclothes officers with their guns drawn on Scott and his vehicle. Police are imploring him to listen to their commands as he sits in his white SUV. Soon after, another uniformed officer joins the scene. Someone is heard shouting &#8220;Drop the gun!&#8221; numerous times as Scott appears to exit his vehicle. Scott is then seen walking backward. Suddenly, there&#8217;s a series of gunshots directed at Scott. The police officer that fired the shots is not seen in the dashcam footage, although we know that an African-American policeman, Officer Brentley Vinson, fired the fatal shots. Here&#8217;s the police statement, released Saturday, confirming the video account: &#8220;Mr. Scott then exited the vehicle with the gun and backed away from the vehicle while continuing to ignore officers&#8217; repeated loud verbal commands to drop the gun.&#8221;
2. Police released bodycam video of the incident as well. Here it is:

The police bodycam footage provides a different view of the incident. Again, the video doesn&#8217;t prove with absolute certainty whether the shooting was justified or not. In fact, there is no audio for the first 25 seconds and the fatal gunshots cannot be heard in the footage. The camera here was worn by a plainclothes police officer on the scene. From what we can see, officers appear to be surrounding Scott&#8217;s white SUV. Then the police officer wearing the body cam moves across the car where Scott is then seen lying on the ground. Five police officers are around him. One starts to provide medical treatment. 
3. Police released a clear image of the gun Keith Scott allegedly pulled on police. The Scott family initially said that Keith Scott was holding a book in his hand, prompting hundreds of protesters to converge in Charlotte&#8217;s city center last week. The Scott family either didn&#8217;t know that Keith Scott had a gun or they were lying. Although North Carolina is an open carry state, Scott&#8217;s criminal record precludes the possibility of him purchasing the weapon legally.

4. Police revealed that Scott&#8217;s fingerprints and DNA were on the gun, citing extensive lab analysis.
5. Police Chief Kerr Putney stated that police were on their way to serve a warrant for another criminal when they ran into Scott. Scott was in possession of marijuana, but the police officers ignored the illegal drugs. It was only when police discovered that Scott was in possession of illegal weapons that they decided to confront him. Officer Vinson, the policeman that fired the fatal shots, &#8220;observed Mr. Scott hold a gun up,&#8221; according to a police statement released Saturday. &#8220;Due to the combination of illegal drugs and the gun Mr. Scott had in his possession, officers decided to take enforcement action for public safety concerns,&#8221; the statement added.

6. Police initially attempted to pull Scott out of his white SUV and simply make an arrest, but Scott refused and resisted. An officer attempted to &#8220;breach the window&#8221; of Scott&#8217;s vehicle, said the police statement. Eventually, Scott exited the vehicle but entirely ignored the commands of officers demanding that he drop his weapon. The shooting officer perceived that there was an imminent threat to his life. 
7. Police confirmed that the shooting officer was not wearing a body cam during the incident. In addition, police have withheld additional footage that they don&#8217;t feel is pertinent as to whether the shooting was justified or not.

7 Things The Charlotte Police Just Released About The Keith Scott Shooting

As Charlotte is still reeling from the riots and looting in response to the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, video (below) from Scott&#8217;s wife cellphone appears to show what happened before and after the altercation.

In the clip, Scott&#8217;s wife tells the officers, &#8220;Don&#8217;t shoot him. Don&#8217;t shoot him,&#8221; as the cops yell at her husband to drop the gun.
&#8220;He doesn&#8217;t have a gun,&#8221; she responds, but pictures of the crime scene later show a gun present near his body.
She continues to tell the officers that her husband isn&#8217;t going &#8220;to do anything to you guys&#8221; but her husband continues to disobey the orders of the officers.

As her husband starts to move around in his vehicle while officers continue to ask him to to drop the gun the wife quickly changes her tune upon seeing her husband poised to be aggressive with his weapon, telling him, &#8220;Keith, don&#8217;t you do it. Don&#8217;t you do it, Keith!&#8221;
The video then goes fuzzy from movement but four shots from the black police officer can be heard going off. Scott&#8217;s wife addresses the cops saying, &#8220;Did you shoot him! He better not be f&#8211;king dead!&#8221;
She continues confronting the officers, telling them, &#8220;He better live. He better live.&#8221; As she begins to move towards the cops they tell her stay back to which she yells, &#8220;I ain&#8217;t going nowhere. I&#8217;m in the same damn spot! The f&#8211;k!&#8221;
Despite the man having disobeyed orders, having a gun, and ultimately being shot by a black cop after not releasing his weapon, the riots will no doubt continue and probably get worse.
