Body-cam and vehicle footage released by the Martin County, Florida, Sheriff&#8217;s Office on Thursday shows the aftermath of Tiger Woods&#8217; rollover crash last week as Woods gets searched and undergoes a sobriety test.
In the body-cam video, Woods is seen kneeling on the side of the road while speaking to a sheriff&#8217;s deputy a few feet away from his wrecked Range Rover. Woods told a sheriff&#8217;s deputy, &#8220;I looked down at my phone and all of a sudden, boom.&#8221;
The deputy then patted down the legendary golfer and told him a medic would come over to check him out.
&#8220;He&#8217;s okay. I just checked for anything on his back. I didn&#8217;t feel anything,&#8221; the deputy told a colleague before he walked over to the truck and trailer that Woods had hit.

Later, footage shows deputies conducting a field sobriety test on Woods before they search his pockets and find two pills in his pocket.
&#8220;Oh, that&#8217;s a narco,&#8221; Woods said after the deputy pulled the pills from his pocket. According to the arrest affidavit, the pills were hydrocodone, an opioid used to treat severe and long-lasting pain.

Woods was arrested and charged with DUI with property damage. A breathalyzer test showed no alcohol in his system, but a deputy described Woods as “lethargic and slow,” with “bloodshot and glassy” eyes and “extremely dilated” pupils, according to the arrest affidavit.
&#8220;So at this time, I do believe your normal faculties are impaired,&#8221; one of the deputies told Woods as she placed handcuffs on him. &#8220;And you&#8217;re under the unknown substance, so at this time, you&#8217;re under arrest for DUI.&#8221;
The body-cam footage also shows the deputy talking to the driver of the truck involved in the wreck. The truck driver told the deputy that he was stopped in the road and about to turn into a driveway when Woods plowed into the trailer. It appears that one of the trailer&#8217;s tires was damaged in the collision.
&#8220;I&#8217;m fine. It hit the trailer,&#8221; the truck driver said. &#8220;I&#8217;m not sure if I&#8217;m going to be able to drive it out of here.&#8221;
The sheriff&#8217;s office also released <a href="https://www.tcpalm.com/videos/news/2026/04/02/watch-tiger-woods-bodycam-footage/89433940007/">footage</a> of inside the sheriff&#8217;s vehicle as Woods is hauled off to jail.
Woods refused to comply with a urine test, which resulted in an additional charge of refusal to submit to a lawful test, according to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek.
Woods has dealt with significant injuries throughout his career, including multiple back surgeries and serious leg injuries from a 2021 car crash in Los Angeles. He told authorities that he takes “a few” prescription medications, but said that he was distracted by his phone and radio before the crash.
Earlier this week, Woods entered a plea deal in the DUI case, and a judge granted his request to travel outside of the United States after the golfer&#8217;s attorney cited his need to get into an &#8220;intensive, highly individualized and medically integrated program.&#8221; Woods <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tiger-woods-breaks-silence-after-dui-arrest-pga-tour-also-issues-statement">said</a> on Tuesday that he would be &#8220;stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health.&#8221;
&#8220;I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.&#8221;

Tiger Woods had two opioid pills in his pocket when he crashed his SUV in South Florida last week, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2026/03/31/tiger-woods-had-pills-in-pocket-during-dui-arrest/">TMZ</a>.
A sheriff&#8217;s deputy said when he searched Woods, he found two hydrocodone pills in the golfer&#8217;s pants pocket. Woods told authorities he takes &#8220;a few&#8221; prescription medications but said he was distracted by his phone and radio before crashing into a truck that was towing a pressure washer trailer.
Hydrocodone is a potent semi-synthetic opioid that is typically taken for severe and long-term pain. The painkiller is <a href="https://www.dea.gov/press-releases/2014/08/21/dea-publish-final-rule-rescheduling-hydrocodone-combination-products">classified</a> as a Schedule II controlled substance by the U.S. government, which warns that hydrocodone is among &#8220;some of the most addictive and potentially dangerous prescription medications available.&#8221;
Woods, 50, is widely considered one of the greatest golfers of all time. He has dealt with significant injuries throughout his career, including multiple back surgeries and serious leg injuries from a 2021 car crash in Los Angeles. He previously pleaded guilty to reckless driving in 2017 after being found asleep in his vehicle, and later admitted he had been taking prescription medications following back surgery.
After Woods clipped another vehicle and flipped his Range Rover in Jupiter Island, Florida, last Friday, he was charged with DUI with property damage. &#8220;The kids are close with Tiger, so of course Elin cares too,” a source told the outlet. “She wants him to be well. Both kids are great and love spending time with their dad. Elin&#8217;s concerned that he had another car crash and got arrested.”
President Donald Trump also commented on the crash, calling Woods &#8220;an amazing person, amazing man, but [he&#8217;s had] some difficulty.”

After golf pro Tiger Woods was hit with yet another DUI, fans and followers are questioning: Why in the world doesn’t the billionaire celebrity just hire a private driver?
According to one source who spoke with <a href="https://people.com/why-tiger-woods-wont-hire-a-driver-exclusive-source-11936867">People</a>, it all comes down to independence. The insider spoke with People following Woods’ latest incident in Jupiter Island, Florida, on Friday. 
The person claimed that Woods, &#8220;doesn&#8217;t want anyone to watch over him or know what he is doing… and he thinks he is fine to drive.&#8221;
The 50-year-old golfing legend, who became only the second active athlete ever to be certified by <a href="https://www.forbes.com/profile/tiger-woods/">Forbes</a> as a billionaire in 2022, was charged with a DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test following his rollover crash this weekend, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tiger-woods-involved-in-florida-rollover-crash-see-aftermath-of-his-range-rover">reported</a>. Woods was visibly impaired, but not by alcohol, as he blew a 0.00 on the breathalyzer test. It appeared to authorities that the golfer was under the influence of another substance.
“They did several tests, he did explain the injuries and surgeries,” Sheriff John Budensiek said. “They did some in-depth roadside tests, and when it was determined, he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail.” The sheriff noted that Woods appeared “lethargic.” 
He also mentioned that no one was injured, and that the incident could have been “a lot worse.”
This wasn’t his first time getting into trouble on the road. Woods was seriously injured following a rollover crash in 2021. Prior to that, in 2017, the golf pro pleaded guilty to reckless driving, agreed to pay a fine, and attended DUI school after being arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.
This is all curious behavior considering that the insider who spoke with People also professed that Woods prefers to stay out of the headlines. 
&#8220;He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home with his kids, or hitting balls, or playing video games,&#8221; the source told People. &#8220;He despises public scrutiny.&#8221;
President Trump addressed the incident shortly after the crash. “I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty.” the president told reporters in Miami. “There was an accident and that’s all I know … Very close friend of mine. He’s an amazing person, amazing man.”
Woods has been dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., since 2025.

Newly released footage shows former WWE executive Vince McMahon crashing his Bentley Continental GT while traveling over 100 mph in 2025.
The video taken from a police officer&#8217;s dash cam shows McMahon speeding down a Connecticut highway on July 24 of that year. McMahon’s car can be seen clipping the BMW driving in front of him before pulling over and being confronted by law enforcement.
“Why were you driving all over 100 mph?” state police Detective Maxwell Robins asked McMahon, 80,  after approaching the wrecked Bentley on the side of Merritt Parkway in Westport. 
“I got my granddaughter’s birthday,” McMahon said in response. 
“You almost hit, I think, 115 miles per hour… I’m trying to catch up to you, and you keep taking off,” Robins said.
“No, no no. I’m not trying to outrun you,” McMahon insisted in the video. The officer next asked McMahon if he was looking at his phone, which he denied.
Robins told McMahon that his car is fast, prompting McMahon to agree, “Yeah, too (expletive) fast.”

There were no injuries from the crash, but another car traveling in the opposite direction was struck by debris. The driver of that car was coincidentally wearing a WWE shirt, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/vince-mcmahon-car-crash-connecticut-bc0da67100a55adf1a8c8acc8ae7139b">reported</a>. In another strange twist, WWE legend Hulk Hogan died of a heart attack on the same day of the crash.
McMahon was charged with reckless driving and following too closely. He entered a pretrial probation program, which allowed him to have the charges erased, plus was ordered to make a $1,000 charitable contribution.
“Not every car accident is a crime,” the WWE exec’s lawyer said of the incident. “Vince’s primary concern during this case was for the other drivers and is appreciative that the court saw this more of an accident than a crime that needed to be prosecuted.”
McMahon stepped down as WWE’s CEO in 2022 following sexual misconduct allegations from a former employee, which he denied. The lawsuit is ongoing.

A tour bus carrying more than 50 people veered out of control and rolled over on an Upstate New York highway on Friday, killing at least five people and injuring dozens of others, authorities said.
At least one child was among the dead, according to trooper James O&#8217;Callaghan, a spokesperson for the New York State Police. He told reporters near the scene that most of the passengers were Asian or of Asian descent, including Chinese, Indians and Filipinos.
The accident took place on Interstate 90, part of the New York State Thruway, in Pembroke, New York, about 30 miles (48 km) east of Buffalo, while the bus was en route from Niagara Falls to New York City.
The National Transportation Safety Board was sending a team to investigate the accident, the agency said.
Multiple passengers ended up trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated, while others were thrown from the bus when it rolled over across the highway before coming to rest on its side in a ditch along the shoulder of the road, O&#8217;Callaghan said.
The driver, who survived the accident, lost control while the bus was moving at &#8220;full speed,&#8221; he said, causing the vehicle to career into the median and then flip over. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver was cooperating with investigators, O&#8217;Callaghan said, and police were in contact with the bus company, which was not publicly identified.
The bus was carrying 51 passengers, not counting the driver, and every person aboard suffered some kind of injury, O&#8217;Callaghan said.
An online statement by state police said &#8220;several fatalities&#8221; were confirmed. New York Governor Kathy Hochul said on the social platform X that police had confirmed that &#8220;five lives were tragically lost.&#8221;
After the crash, authorities closed the highway in both directions, causing massive traffic delays at the onset of one of the last weekends of the summer vacation season.

The Republican congressman said that what happened reflects everything he loves about America.
Congressman Derrick Van Orden (R-MN) was driving down Interstate 35 near Osceola, Iowa, on Saturday when he witnessed a car crash in his rearview mirror.
“I’m watching a Dodge Grand minivan disintegrate. It seemed to drift off the road at about 70 miles per hour, more so on the passenger side of the car,” the Wisconsin Republican <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/3759434/van-orden-and-roadside-warriors-save-11-year-old/">said</a>. “My wife, Sarah, was like, what happened? I looked at it, I said, someone just died,” he said.
Van Orden, a retired Navy SEAL, says he parked his truck in the grass divider and rushed over to see if he could help.
“I ran to the passenger side, where all the damage was, and there was this 11-year-old kid, and I looked at him, and his calf, which is about as big as my thigh, was completely ripped apart, so I could see his tibia and his fibula, just a big chunk of him bleeding. And he had an arterial bleed in his right wrist.”
He ran back to his truck, dug into his luggage, and grabbed two socks for makeshift tourniquets. “By then, probably 10 people had also pulled over to help, I’m like, does somebody have a knife? And they’re like, yep. So I cut the seat belts off and then made tourniquets.”
“Some big old Iowa farm dude, probably 60-something, rips off a windshield wiper for his arm, then another lady there said she was a medic. She wound up grabbing a piece of metal and made a tourniquet on his leg, and then all of us packed him up and got him up into the ambulance.”
Van Orden says that everyone’s quick actions saved the boy’s life. Due to their remote location, first responders wouldn’t have been able to arrive in time. “It took about 10 to 15 minutes. He would’ve bled to death. He would’ve been gone.”
He later visited the boy in the hospital in Des Moines.
He said that what happened embodies “everything that I love about America.”
“We’re in the middle of somewhere, and this happens, and people just start showing up. They start asking, ‘Hey, can we do this? Can we do that?”
While Van Orden was securing the tourniquet on the boy’s leg, he said there were men behind him doing traffic control.
“It’s amazing,” he said of everyone’s eagerness to help.
On X, Van Orden noted that the accident occurred on the second anniversary of his daughter’s passing.

A jury in Miami found that Tesla was partly to blame for a fatal 2019 crash that killed a young woman and severely wounded her boyfriend. It was the first federal trial involving a fatal crash linked to Tesla&#8217;s Autopilot mode.
The verdict, which came down on Friday, found that Tesla and its self-driving technology were 33% responsible for the crash, with the remainder of the blame falling on the driver, George Brian McGee, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/01/business/tesla-autopilot-federal-trial-verdict.html">reported</a>. Tesla could be forced to pay as much as $243 million to the parents of the deceased woman, Naibel Benavides, and her boyfriend, Dillon Angulo — but Elon Musk&#8217;s electric vehicle company said it would appeal the jury&#8217;s verdict.
“Today’s verdict is wrong and only works to set back automotive safety and jeopardize Tesla’s and the entire industry’s efforts to develop and implement lifesaving technology,” Tesla said.
“Florida law is explicit that punitive damages have been all but eliminated in product liability cases such as this one,” the company added. “We are confident that the punitive damage award at a minimum, and likely this whole verdict, will be overturned by the appellate court.”
The crash at the center of the case took place on April 25, 2019, when McGee was driving his Tesla Model S near Key Largo, Florida, and blew through an intersection at 62 mph, crashing into a black SUV that was legally parked on the side of a dirt road near the intersection. The Tesla was in Autopilot mode at the time of the crash, but McGee had his foot on the accelerator, which overrides Autopilot mode. Before he reached the intersection, McGee dropped his phone and bent down to look for it, and told police that he did not see the intersection or the stop sign.
McGee said on the stand that he thought Tesla&#8217;s Autopilot mode would protect him from a crash.
Lawyers representing the plaintiffs in the federal trial argued that Musk and Tesla have exaggerated Tesla&#8217;s Autopilot technology.
“The Tesla car is a good car,” attorney Brett Schreiber said, according to the <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/florida-keys/article311553847.html">Miami Herald</a>. “It’s the Autopilot that will kill you.”
During the trial, Schreiber also quoted Musk, who has said that Tesla&#8217;s autopilot system is safer than a human driver.
Tesla&#8217;s lawyers pinned the entire blame for the crash on McGee, who was on his phone for 13 minutes before the crash, and was driving at varying speeds. Joel Smith, a lawyer representing Tesla, said McGee was &#8220;reckless&#8221; and &#8220;aggressive,&#8221; adding that “no car could have prevented” the crash. Smith also pointed to Tesla&#8217;s owner&#8217;s manual, which states, “It is the drivers’ responsibility to stay alert, drive safely and be in control of the vehicle.”
The jury&#8217;s verdict comes as Tesla looks to roll out self-driving robotaxis on American streets. The first robotaxis <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tesla-shares-soar-after-first-robotaxis-hit-the-road">hit the road</a> for testing in Austin, Texas, in June.

Country singer Conner Smith was allegedly involved in a car accident in which he struck and killed a woman who was walking, according to a <a href="https://www.nashville.gov/departments/police/news/pedestrian-fatally-struck-sunday-3rd-avenue-north">release</a> from the Nashville Police Department.
Per local police, Dorothy Dobbins, 77, was walking in a crosswalk around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night when she was struck by a Chevy Silverado pickup truck. She later died after being taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
“The preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian,” the police report said. “He showed no signs of impairment.” As of Monday, no charges were filed against the recording artist.
“On June 8th, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life. His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins’ family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation,” Smith’s attorney said in a <a href="https://www.tennessean.com/story/entertainment/music/2025/06/09/country-singer-conner-smith-involved-in-fatal-pedestrian-incident-police-say/84123320007/">statement</a> to The Tennessean.

The fatal incident occurred on the last day of the annual CMA Fest in Nashville, a popular four-day country music event.
Smith is a rising country music singer and songwriter from Nashville known for blending traditional country storytelling with a modern sound. A 15-year-old illegal immigrant in Aurora, Colorado, received probation and community service as part of a plea deal with prosecutors after he killed 24-year-old Kaitlyn Weaver last July by plowing a Jeep into the side of her vehicle.
After initially promising to pursue the maximum sentence of two years in a correctional facility for the illegal immigrant, Weaver&#8217;s father, John Weaver, said that the Arapahoe District Attorney&#8217;s Office changed course after different leadership took over a few months later, CBS News Colorado <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/colorado-prosecutor-offers-unlicensed-undocumented-teen-probation-deadly-crash/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

The juvenile also had other minors in his vehicle when he crashed into the 24-year-old woman. The Jeep, which the teenager was driving illegally, was uninsured, and his mother said that he took it without her permission. The teen was charged with vehicular homicide.
Under the new Democratic District Attorney, Amy Padden, the illegal immigrant was offered two years of probation if he pleaded guilty, according to Weaver. Arapahoe County Assistant District Attorney Ryan Brackley said the plea deal was handled by an experienced prosecutor and was not influenced by the new district attorney. The deal was upheld by a judge after hearing from the Weaver family, Brackley added.
&#8220;Why the change? If he had taken a firearm and recklessly just shot it and killed someone, this would be a different case. They would be pushing it completely differently,&#8221; Weaver said. &#8220;There&#8217;s no deterrence.&#8221;
&#8220;Immigration and the criminal justice system and all these things landed together one day in Aurora, and now I sit here today without a daughter,&#8221; Weaver added.
Brackley defended the plea deal, saying that before any plea deal is negotiated prosecutors consider &#8220;the impact on the victims and the community,&#8221; &#8220;the characteristics of the defendant such as age, culpability, and level of remorse,&#8221; and the &#8220;goals of sentencing, including deterrence, rehabilitating the offender, treating similarly situated offenders equitably, and holding each offender accountable.&#8221;
&#8220;The negotiated sentence acknowledges the seriousness of this preventable tragedy,&#8221; the assistant district attorney stated.

The motorcade for vice presidential nominee Tim Walz crashed on Monday while en route to an event, leaving at least one person moderately injured.
The vehicles that crashed were press poll vans that were following the Minnesota Democrat governor around on the campaign trail in Wisconsin while he was traveling on the interstate to the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee.
&#8220;Several cars in the Walz motorcade crashed at about 12:57 p.m. — just a moment after I sent the last pool report,&#8221; the press pool said in a statement. &#8220;A staff member in our press van appears to have a broken arm and is being treated by medics.&#8221;
&#8220;Everyone else is shaken but appears to be in okay condition,&#8221; the statement added. &#8220;We were violently thrown forward, as our van slammed into the one in front of us and was hit from behind.”
A local ABC News affiliate <a href="https://www.wisn.com/article/press-vans-following-democratic-vp-nominee-tim-walz-involved-in-milwaukee-interstate-crash/62036008">reported</a> that the vehicles that were transporting Walz and Rep. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) hit the back of another car on an interstate over the weekend, causing the driver of the other car to be treated at a hospital for their injuries.
The incident happened just before 8 a.m. on Sunday as the two were traveling in the area of I-70 and I-68 in Hancock, Maryland.
Local media reports said that Fetterman was driving a Chevrolet Traverse and that he struck the back of a Chevrolet Impala.
Fetterman and his wife, Gisele Fetterman, were both taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries. The senator reportedly had a minor shoulder injury.
The driver of the Impala was also taken to the hospital in an ambulance to be treated for their injuries. No status update was available on the driver.
Police have not officially said what caused the car accident as the incident is currently under investigation.
&#8220;On Sunday morning, John and Gisele were involved in a car accident with another driver,&#8221; Fetterman&#8217;s office claimed in a statement, <a href="https://www.fox29.com/news/sen-john-fetterman-wife-involved-sunday-morning-crash-maryland">according</a> to FOX 29. &#8220;Out of an abundance of caution, they were evaluated at a local hospital. John was treated for a bruised shoulder and they were discharged that afternoon. They are doing well and happy to be back in Braddock.&#8221;
Fetterman has struggled with various health-related issues after he suffered a serious stroke in 2022, including crippling depression that led to him staying in a hospital.
During his campaign, Fetterman repeatedly refused to debate Dr. Mehmet Oz (R) as he sought to limit voters’ exposure to him following his stroke, which has impacted aspects of his cognition, hearing, and speech. He later debated Oz right before the election but did not perform well.
The Washington Post Editorial Board slammed his campaign at the time for “concealing from the public for two days after his stroke that he had been hospitalized.”
“It waited weeks longer to reveal a more complete picture of his medical history, including that he had been diagnosed in 2017 with cardiomyopathy. Mr. Fetterman had a pacemaker with a defibrillator implanted after the stroke. The campaign’s response to questions about Mr. Fetterman’s health is to point to a doctor’s note, released more than 14 weeks ago, which said ‘he should be able to campaign and serve in the U.S. Senate without a problem’ if he takes his medications and exercises.”
The Editorial Board said that Fetterman pointing to a 4-month-old doctor’s note was “not good enough” and that he “should release his medical records for independent review.”

U.S. District Court Judge Larry Hicks, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, was killed in a crash near the federal courthouse in Reno, Nevada, on Wednesday. He was 80 years old.
Authorities said the judge was crossing the street near the courthouse where he worked around 2:15 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, ABC affiliate KOLO 8 <a href="https://www.kolotv.com/2024/05/30/federal-judge-larry-hicks-has-died/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Hicks was rushed to the hospital but was later declared dead.

Police said that the driver of the vehicle that struck Hicks is cooperating with law enforcement, adding that it does not appear that the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
Hicks was appointed by Bush in 2001 after <a href="https://www.nvd.uscourts.gov/court-information/judges/judge-larry-r-hicks/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">serving</a> as the Washoe County district attorney from 1974 to 1978 and then working in a private law practice from 1979 until his appointment to the federal judgeship in 2001. He assumed senior status as a district court judge in 2013. Hicks is also the father of Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks.
