<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“What we’re seeing is people, they want to have a special experience, and regardless of what your income level is,&#8221; he said. &#8220;In some cases, you know, a $9 experience does feel like you’re splurging. And then, what that means  is we have to make it worthwhile, right?”</span></p>
<p>In other cases, he added, customers view Starbucks as an affordable premium option.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“They’re saying, ‘Well it’s less than $10 and I get a really premium experience,&#8217;” Niccol went on. “So, regardless of where you’re stationed in those income cohorts, we want to make that experience worth your while.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Niccol also described a visit to Starbucks as “a moment of escapism,” adding that customers value consistency across price points.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I think people actually really do appreciate knowing, “Hey, if this is a $3 cup of coffee or a $5 latte, I know I’m going to get a great experience for that $5 experience, I’m in,” he added.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Many commenters called the exec out of touch.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This video just confirms how detached from reality those people are. [Starbucks] IS NOT a premium experience, nor is the coffee worth $9,” one person wrote. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The federal government is considering providing the airline with a convertible financing facility that would allow it to convert debt into equity. According to Bloomberg, the arrangement could give the government the option to acquire a significant ownership stake in the airline, potentially as much as 90% of a restructured entity. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick are leading the talks and reportedly met with President Donald Trump on Tuesday night to discuss the proposal. </span></p>

Former Attorney General Merrick Garland <a href="https://www.justice.gov/archives/opa/pr/justice-department-statements-jetblue-terminating-acquisition-spirit-airlines?utm_source=chatgpt.com">described</a> the acquisition’s termination as a “victory on behalf of the American consumer,” arguing the merger would lead to increased fares for customers.</span></p>
<p>More recently, rising fuel costs tied to the war in Iran have added pressure, with JPMorgan analysts estimating those expenses could increase by as much as<span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span><a href="https://www.wsj.com/business/airlines/struggling-spirit-airlines-in-talks-with-trump-administration-on-government-investment-0db4f169"><span style="font-weight: 400;">$360</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> million.</span></p>

<p>Spirit Airlines could shut down and begin liquidation as soon as this week, raising questions for travelers.</p>
<p>The airline has already filed for bankruptcy twice, and its latest effort to emerge from the process is not going well, CNBC reported.</p>
<p>“We don’t comment on market rumors and speculation,” the budget airline told <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/15/spirit-airlines-could-liquidate-as-early-as-this-week-sources-say.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNBC</a>.</p>
<p>Some travelers may be able to get refunds if their flights are canceled, depending on factors such as whether they booked with a credit card, have travel insurance, and others, according to The Points Guy.</p>
<p>InsureMyTrip CEO Suzanne Morrow said that travelers&#8217; options depend on “when that policy was purchased.”</p>
<p>“For those who already hold a policy, the answer is in the fine print. Timing plays a major role here. At this stage, many insurers view Spirit’s financial situation as a known or ‘foreseeable’ event, which can limit access to key benefits like Trip Cancellation or Trip Interruption,” she added.</p>
<p>“If someone is thinking about buying coverage now, they should be aware that if Spirit ceases operations after the policy is purchased, standard cancellation or interruption benefits generally won’t apply,” Morrow continued.</p>
<p>A federal judge shot down a proposed merger between Spirit and JetBlue in 2024, a move supported by the Biden-era Justice Department. There were also reports late last year of a possible merger between Frontier Airlines and Spirit, <a href="https://www.travelweekly.com/Travel-News/Airline-News/Spirit-is-again-in-merger-talks-with-Frontier" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Travel Weekly</a> reported.</p>
<p>“Today’s decision by JetBlue is yet another victory for the Justice Department’s work on behalf of American consumers,” then-Attorney General Merrick Garland said after JetBlue scrapped the merger.</p>
<p>“The Justice Department proved in court that a merger between JetBlue and Spirit would have caused tens of millions of travelers to face higher fares and fewer choices. We will continue to vigorously enforce the nation’s antitrust laws,” Garland added.</p>
<p>The potential collapse of Spirit Airlines comes at a tumultuous time for air travel in the United States, as costs have risen due to higher fuel prices and other pressures on the industry.</p>
<p>The Daily Wire reached out to the Department of Transportation for comment.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Last summer, all hell broke loose over the campaign featuring Sweeney in various seductive poses while saying she had “good jeans.” The double entendre with the word “genes” made leftists deem the ad racist, noting that Sweeney is white with blond hair and blue eyes.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In one of the ads, Sweeney says, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">American Eagle responded to the backlash at the time with a statement defending the campaign. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Customers are outraged that the company CEO, Mahesh Sadarangani, has ordered the removal of Pride flags at certain locations in pursuit of an “inclusive” atmosphere.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“At Philz, we have always believed everyone who walks through our doors deserves to feel welcome and safe, and that belief is at the core of everything we do. Our longstanding support of the LGBTQIA+ community is unchanged. We are working toward creating a more consistent, inclusive experience across all our stores, including removing a variety of flags and other decor,” Sadarangani said in a statement. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“This is a change in how our stores look, not in who we are. Our allyship runs deeper than what is on our walls. It shows up in who we hire, how we treat one another and in our annual Pride Month Unity celebration, which returns this June as it has every year. Unity is fundamental to how we operate,” he added.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A Philz manager at one San Francisco location </span><a href="https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/petition-circulates-claiming-philz-coffee-asked-stores-to-remove-pride-flags/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">told</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> KRON4 News that Sadarangani had told store leadership to consider whether in-store displays make all customers feel included during a recent company summit. According to the outlet, employees at multiple Bay Area locations said they have not been asked to take down Pride flags.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Despite the executive’s stated commitment to LGBT causes, leftist activists were melting down online and started a petition in an attempt to have the flag removal decision reversed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As of Friday afternoon, a </span><a href="https://www.change.org/p/urge-philz-coffee-to-keep-pride-flags-up"><span style="font-weight: 400;">petition</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> created by “Philz Coffee Baristas” had more than 4,000 signatures. “In today&#8217;s society, businesses have an essential role in fostering inclusivity and support, and displaying the pride flag is a simple yet remarkably powerful demonstration of that role,” the description said in part. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Removing these flags risks alienating a core group of team members and loyal customers who see Philz not just as a coffee shop, but as a place where they are embraced and celebrated for who they are.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some customers interviewed on the street were also outraged, saying they would “boycott” the business if the decision wasn’t reversed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Philz Coffee was founded in San Francisco in 2003. It operates more than 60 locations, mostly in California, with a few in Chicago. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The company made headlines in 2025 when the private equity firm Freeman Spogli &amp; Co. bought it for $145 million, prompting complaints from many customers. Some commenters blame the new ownership for the revised Pride flag policy. </span></p>

Typically, retail investors are allocated about 5 to 10% of shares. Musk also appears to be breaking from the competitive IPO bank selection process by turning to trusted relationships.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Chairman of Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley, Michael Grimes, is expected to lead the IPO. He’s worked with Musk before, helping him take Tesla public in 2010 and Twitter private in 2022. Reporting says that Musk submitted a confidential filing, which allows the company to submit its financials to the SEC for regulatory review before the public and prospective investors are able to view. At least fifteen days before the IPO roadshow, SpaceX will have to release a public filing, where investors will be able to review the company&#8217;s financials, business model, and key risks.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Wall Street Journal reports Musk will do something nontraditional with the roadshow. Normally, executives hit the road to meet investors, but Musk wants investors to travel to SpaceX, where they can view its manufacturing facilities and potentially witness rocket launches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Musk’s primary goal for SpaceX is to make human consciousness multi-planetary. He hopes to eventually establish a colony on Mars.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">SpaceX owns Starlink, and as of February 2, xAI. SpaceX is planning to construct data centers in space using SpaceX rockets to build out the structure. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The power generated from these orbital data centers could help satisfy the enormous energy demands of xAI, depending on whether the technology operates as Musk predicts. Musk has previously stated, &#8220;If we harness even a billionth of the Sun’s power for AI/robotics, it will be a 1000X return.” </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hershey CEO Kirk Tanner made the announcement earlier this week during an </span><a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-03-31/hershey-to-change-chocolate-in-some-disputed-reese-s-items?embedded-checkout=true"><span style="font-weight: 400;">interview</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> with Bloomberg, confirming that the company will use “classic milk and dark chocolate recipes” in all Reese’s and Hershey’s items.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The shift to pure chocolate ingredients will affect less than 3% of Reese’s products and a “tiny sliver of Hershey’s products,” the outlet noted. Specifically, the product changes will impact mini Reese’s cups and shapes, Reese’s Fast Break, and some foil-wrapped Reese’s shapes.</span></p>
<p>The Pennsylvania-based company will also be &#8220;enhancing&#8221; their popular Kit Kat &#8220;for a creamier taste and texture.&#8221; The outlet noted that Hershey is &#8220;on track&#8221; to remove all artificial colors from its products by the end of 2027.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Right when I started with the company, we did a deep dive across our portfolio,” Tanner said. “We’re going to make some small investments to really align the portfolio to what the brand stands for. That consistency is important across the brand.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reese <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/candy-civil-war-reeses-heir-calls-out-whats-being-put-in-americas-favorite-treat">went viral</a> on social media in February after posting about what he described as “compound coatings” and misguided cost-cutting measures.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“My grandfather, H. B. REESE (Who Invented REESE’S), built REESE’S on a simple, enduring architecture: Milk Chocolate + Peanut Butter. Not a flavor idea. Not a marketing construct. A real, tangible product identity that consumers have trusted for a century,” the 70-year-old Florida native shared in a LinkedIn post.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“I can’t just let it go. They’re lowering the quality of ingredients, charging the same price and probably giving you a smaller product size,” Reese told the New York Post in a follow-up interview. “I’m really embarrassed as a member of the Reese family.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to Hershey&#8217;s website, traditional Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups include: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate, Skim Milk, Milk Fat, Lactose, Lecithin, PGPR), Peanuts, Sugar, Dextrose, Salt, and TBHQ &amp; Citric Acid (TO MAINTAIN FRESHNESS).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reese indicated that the spinoff versions of the classic candy are the culprits. This would include the Reese’s shapes, which are on the list of products to be made with “classic” recipes as of next year.</span></p>
