Imane Khelif is an Olympic gold medalist <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/boxing">boxer</a> from Algeria who had failed past <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gender">gender</a> tests — per the IBA — and was later allegedly proven to be a biological male, according to a French journalist who obtained a medical report, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tonight-was-my-revenge-female-boxer-wins-title-after-olympics-gender-controversy">reported</a>.
IBA President Umar Kremlev said the boxer has “XY chromosomes.” The boxer was allowed by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) to compete against biological women in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Olympics formally cut ties with the IBA, which the IOC now dismisses as “not credible,” and allows boxers to compete based on the gender listed on their passports rather than enforcing any gender-related testing.
Female boxer Angela Carini forfeited her scheduled bout in the Olympics against Khelif in Paris, saying “one punch hurt too much” and that she “had never felt a punch like this.” 
Carini later won the 2024 Italian women’s title for boxing after being forced to fight Khelif at the 2024 Paris Olympics. 
Many social media users reacted to Khelif getting four votes from the AP panel, with one person <a href="https://x.com/pamadkisson/status/1872060965703106606">calling it </a>“disgusting.” 
“That’s not a female. We all know it,” another reply <a href="https://x.com/kateiswell/status/1872058982665474454">said</a>. 
“Khelif still has XY chromosomes. These are facts,” <a href="https://x.com/Bubblebathgirl/status/1872088551762149549">echoed</a> a third.
Talk show host Piers Morgan said in August that Khelif being named the women’s champion in Paris a “travesty.”

Female boxer Angela Carini celebrated taking home the 2024 Italian women&#8217;s title for boxing after being forced to fight in the 2024 Paris Olympics against a competitor with a sex development condition who had failed previous gender tests with the International Boxing Association (IBA). 
The victory for Carini came months after she had to endure being beaten up in the ring by Imane Khelif, an Olympic boxer from Algeria, who had failed past gender tests — per the IBA — and was later allegedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/french-journalist-claims-medical-report-proves-olympic-boxer-who-took-gold-in-womens-division-a-man">proven to be a biological male</a>, according to a French journalist who obtained a medical report.
After winning the title, the female boxer said, “Tonight was my revenge,” a <a href="https://x.com/oliverbrown_tel/status/1865887087456563426">Telegraph reporter</a> wrote on X. “Some 2024 for Angela Carini. Piers Morgan, Megyn Kelly, J.K. Rowling and more reacted to a new report that claimed to show proof confirming that Algerian Olympic boxer  Imane Khelif — who took the gold in the women’s competition in Paris — is a biological male with a sex development condition.

The fighter also reportedly has XY chromosomes and testosterone levels typical of males.

Rowling</a> could face time behind bars after Imane Khelif filed a “cyber-bullying” lawsuit against them for pointing out that the Algerian boxer &#8212; who failed past gender tests, per the International Boxing Association (IBA) — was allowed to fight against female boxers at the Olympics.
The X owner and the famed “Harry Potter” author were some of the higher-profile people named in the suit who took to social media to call out the International Olympic Committee for allowing Khelif to compete in women’s boxing, and going on to win the gold in the final, <a href="https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/jk-rowling-elon-musk-imane-khelif-lawsuit-1236105185/">Variety</a> reported.
Following the Paris Summer Olympics, Khelif filed a criminal lawsuit in France claiming &#8220;acts of aggravated cyber harassment.” If the boxer wins, Musk and Rowling could face anywhere from two to five years behind bars, because in France, the punishment for “cyber bullying” is jail time and fines.
The fines for cyberbullying range from $33,000 to $50,000. And for online hate speech, the fine ranges from $82,000 to more than $270,000, the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13742909/Elon-Musk-JK-Rowling-prison-sentences-fined-Olympic-boxer-Imane-Khelif-cyberbullying.html?ns_mchannel=rss&amp;ns_campaign=1490&amp;ito=social-twitter_mailonline">Daily Mail</a> noted.

Khelif’s attorney Nabil Boudi told the outlet that the suit was filed against Musk’s X platform, which means that it was filed against “unknown persons” according to French Law, the Daily Mail noted.
By doing so, Khelif’s attorney is able to cast a wider net that could allow for the prosecution “to investigate against all people,” including “overseas.”
“<a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/j-k-rowling/index.html">J. K. Rowling</a> and Elon Musk are named in the lawsuit, among others,” Boudi wrote on X, noting that former President Donald Trump could be part of the investigation. “Trump tweeted, so whether or not he is named in our lawsuit, he will inevitably be looked into as part of the prosecution.”

Trump took to X during the Olympics and wrote, “I will keep men out of women’s sports.”
Musk shared a post from former collegiate swimmer Riley Gaines who wrote, “men don&#8217;t belong in women&#8217;s sports,” with the X owner responding, “Absolutely.”

A trans-identifying male runner from Italy will compete alongside women in the Paralympics in Paris.
Valentina Petrillo, 50, began identifying as a transgender woman in 2018 and began taking cross-sex hormones the next year. He has <a href="https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cpvymmpyjeko" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claimed</a> he knew he was female from as young as age nine.
&#8220;I deserve this selection,&#8221; he <a href="https://www.bbc.com/sport/articles/cpvymmpyjeko" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the BBC, adding that &#8220;everyone will have their questions,&#8221; but only a &#8220;minority&#8221; will understand his story.
&#8220;The historic value of being the first transgender woman to compete at the Paralympics is an important symbol of inclusion,&#8221; Petrillo said.
Petrillo will compete for Italy in the T12 classification for athletes with visual impairments. He was diagnosed as a child with Stargardt’s syndrome, a condition where people lose their central vision over time but often keep their peripheral vision.
He previously competed in the men&#8217;s running category and won 11 national titles. Last year, he also won bronze in both the women’s 200 and 400-meter races at the Para Athletics World Championships.

This summer&#8217;s Paris Paralympics run from August 28 to September 8.
The International Paralympic Committee allows each sport&#8217;s governing body to decide whether trans-identifying athletes can compete. For track and field that body is World Para Athletics, which says that anyone legally recognized as a woman can compete in the women&#8217;s category.
Petrillo claimed his &#8220;metabolism has changed&#8221; since taking cross-sex hormones, and he is &#8220;not the energetic person&#8221; he once was.
&#8220;As a sportsperson, to accept that you won&#8217;t go as fast as before is difficult. I had to accept this compromise, because it is a compromise, for my happiness,&#8221; he said.
Asked what he would say to those who say his competing against women is unfair, Petrillo said, &#8220;This is not a lifestyle choice for me, this is who I am.&#8221;
He also argued that the times trans-identifying athletes stood out for their sporting results have been &#8220;very few and far between.&#8221;
The Paris Olympics is already in the middle of another gender-related controversy this summer after two boxers in the women&#8217;s category were revealed to have XY chromosomes.
Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu‑ting of Taiwan were both disqualified from the Women’s World Boxing Championships last year after their chromosome tests came back as XY, according to the president of the International Boxing Association at the time.
However, both boxers were allowed to fight women in the Olympics this year, and both won gold medals.
Khelif <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-without-dropping-single-round-entire-olympic-run" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the welterweight gold medal on Friday after winning every round of every fight. A fighter who failed past gender eligibility tests won gold in the women&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris-olympics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Olympic</a> featherweight final match on Saturday.
Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan, 28, absolutely dominated 20-year-old fighter Julia Szeremeta of Poland, leaving the female fighter bloodied. Lin, who physically towered over Szeremeta, won the match in a unanimous decision.
&#8220;These two right now are not remotely on the same level,&#8221; one of the Olympic commentators noted during the match.
Lin is the second fighter who won gold in women&#8217;s Olympic boxing after gender tests revealed XY chromosomes, according to the International Boxing Association (IBA).
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) permitted Lin to compete in the women&#8217;s division despite failed gender tests in 2019 and 2023. The Olympics&#8217; gender eligibility standard for boxing is based merely on a fighter&#8217;s passport.
“As with previous Olympic boxing competitions, gender and age of the athletes are based on their passport,” IOC spokesman Mark Adams <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4HiUIX9o00&amp;t=3s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> at a press conference.

Adams also said that testosterone levels are not important to the IOC. “Many women can have testosterone which will be called ‘male levels’ and still be women and still compete as women,” he said. “This idea that you do one test for testosterone and that sorts everything out? Not the case, I’m afraid.”
The IBA, which the IOC no longer associates with, said two fighters, including Lin, were given gender tests after the IBA was made aware of concerns about safety from a number of fighters, coaches, and medical staffers.
“Both boxers were asked to take a further blood test,” IBA CEO Chris Roberts said at a press conference in Paris on Monday. “That happened the 23rd of March, the results came through and it demonstrated the chromosomes we refer to in competition rules that make both boxers ineligible.”
Roberts further explained that Lin had failed the chromosome test and was given the opportunity to appeal the findings to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The IBA offered to pay the majority of the appeal, he noted. Lin, though, never appealed.
IBA President Umar Kremlev has criticized the IOC for permitting Lin and another boxer named <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-without-dropping-single-round-entire-olympic-run" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Imane Khelif</a> to compete with women following the failed tests. He <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2024/08/03/iba-paying-italian-boxer-fought-imane-khelif/74656727007/">said</a> in a press release that he doesn’t understand why the IOC is “killing” women’s boxing and emphasized that “only eligible athletes should compete in the ring for the sake of safety.”
The IOC is standing by its position, calling the IBA &#8220;not credible,&#8221; and shaming people who have questioned the gender issue on the basis of fairness and safety.
“We will not take part in a politically motivated … cultural war,” IOC President Thomas Bach <a href="https://apnews.com/article/2024-olympics-imane-khelif-lin-yuting-boxing-3c60d0f38d5ceba6905f455d516d8b9d">said</a> at a press conference last weekend. “What is going on in this context in the social media with all this hate speech, with this aggression and abuse, and fueled by this agenda, is totally unacceptable.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/megyn-kelly">Megyn Kelly</a>, Piers Morgan, and others blew up on social media after the Algerian boxer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-without-dropping-single-round-entire-olympic-run">Imane Khelif</a> &#8212; who failed past gender tests, according to the International Boxing Association (IBA) &#8212; was named the female Olympic champion.
At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris on Friday, Khelif was awarded the gold in the women’s welterweight final boxing match, prompting immediate reactions on social media.
The host of “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast blasted the move by writing, in all caps, about how unfair it was that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) awarded a boxer reportedly with XY chromosomes the gold medal.

When someone tried to claim the boxer was a female, <a href="https://x.com/piersmorgan/status/1822028011052646705">Morgan</a> shut them down by pointing out the facts. “Imane was banned from the World Championships after testing positive for male XY chromosomes.&#8221;
“[Imane] didn’t appeal it,&#8221; he added. &#8220;If [Imane&#8217;s] a biological woman, [Imane] should take another test now and prove it. Spoiler alert: [Imane] won’t.”
Former collegiate female swimmer and vocal advocate for women’s rights in sports, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/riley-gaines-reacts-to-lia-thomas-losing-challenge-to-compete-in-womens-olympic">Riley Gaines</a>, wrote on <a href="https://x.com/Riley_Gaines_/status/1822018729334730885">X</a> that “Khelif (XY) dominated World Champion Lang Liu (XX) to win an Olympic gold medal.&#8221;
“Let me repeat that: a MALE has taken a WOMAN&#8217;S Olympic gold,” Gaines wrote.
“This is what they call this ‘progress,’” she added. “It&#8217;s the ultimate betrayal of fairness, safety, and women by [IOCmedia].”
The official social media account for the Independent Women’s Forum wrote on its <a href="https://x.com/IWF/status/1822020269399273721">post</a>, “BREAKING: A MALE has taken a women’s Olympic gold in boxing.”
“The [iocmedia’s] decision to let Imane Khelif (XY) compete is a betrayal to women &amp; fairness + safety,” it added. “Yang Liu is the deserving winner of the gold.  #Olympics #IStandWithYangLiu.”
Khelif previously failed gender eligibility tests by the IBA, but was allowed by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) to compete against biological women in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Olympics has formally cut ties with the IBA, which the IOC now dismisses as &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-wins-gold-in-womens-boxing-without-dropping-single-round-entire-olympic-run">not credible</a>,&#8221; and allows boxers to compete based on the gender listed on their passports rather than any gender-related testing.

A boxer who failed two past gender eligibility tests dominated the women&#8217;s welterweight final <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris-olympics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Olympic</a> boxing match on Friday, taking home the gold.
Imane Khelif of Algeria fought against China&#8217;s Yang Liu in the final bout, and won every single round. The controversial fighter dominated Yang, as Khelif has with every other female opponent. Khelif never lost a single round during the Paris Olympics, and won every single judge&#8217;s card.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) permitted Khelif to compete in the women&#8217;s division despite failed gender tests in 2019 and 2023. The Olympics&#8217; gender eligibility standard for boxing is based merely on a fighter&#8217;s passport.
“As with previous Olympic boxing competitions, gender and age of the athletes are based on their passport,” IOC spokesman Mark Adams <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4HiUIX9o00&amp;t=3s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> at a press conference.
Adams has also made it clear that testosterone levels are not important to the IOC. “Many women can have testosterone which will be called ‘male levels’ and still be women and still compete as women,” he said. “This idea that you do one test for testosterone and that sorts everything out? Not the case, I’m afraid.”
The International Boxing Association (IBA) &#8212; an organization the IOC no longer associates with &#8212; said two fighters, including Khelif, were given gender tests after the IBA was made aware of concerns about safety from a number of fighters, coaches, and medical staffers.

“Both boxers were asked to take a further blood test,” Chris Roberts, the IBA CEO, said at a press conference in Paris on Monday. “That happened the 23rd of March, the results came through and it demonstrated the chromosomes we refer to in competition rules that make both boxers ineligible.”
Roberts further explained that Khelif had failed the chromosome test and was given the opportunity to appeal the findings to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The IBA, he said, offered to pay the majority of the appeal. Khelif appealed initially, but then withdrew the appeal.
IBA President Umar Kremlev has criticized the IOC for permitting Khelif to compete with women. He <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2024/08/03/iba-paying-italian-boxer-fought-imane-khelif/74656727007/">said</a> in a press release that he doesn’t understand why the IOC is “killing” women’s boxing and emphasized that “only eligible athletes should compete in the ring for the sake of safety.”
The IOC is standing by its position, calling the IBA &#8220;not credible,&#8221; and shaming people who have questioned the gender issue on the basis of fairness and safety.

After the debacle at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris-olympics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paris Olympics</a> where two boxers who reportedly have XY chromosomes battled for women’s boxing crowns, International Olympic Committee president Thomas Back told reporters that there was no “scientifically solid” method for determining whether an athlete is a man or a woman.
Referring to the 2028 Summer Olympics scheduled for Los Angeles, California, a reporter queried Bach,  “There is no sign of the national federations sorting themselves out. Surely you must be worried boxing won’t be there in LA.”
“I will not speculate the position is very clear,” Bach replied. “The IOC will not organize boxing in LA without a reliable partner, and if these national federations want their athletes to be able to win Olympic medals, they have to organize themselves in a reliable international federation with good governments and respecting all the requirements the IOC puts on the International Olympic Federation.”
“In the IOC gender eligibility rules, it seems to be based on the fact that XYA athletes or DSD athletes don’t have a competitive advantage and we see here — &#8221; another reporter began to ask.
DSD, or differences of sex development, were formerly called intersex disorders. But individuals suffering from the disorder still have either XX or XY chromosomes. Algeria’s Imane Khelif, who won the Olympic gold medal in the female welterweight division, has XY chromosomes, <a href="https://www.sportingnews.com/us/olympics/news/imane-khelif-condition-explained-gender-fact-check/51994b8a2e23e7b423782f7a" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the International Boxing Association (IBA). The association also <a href="https://quillette.com/2024/08/03/xy-athletes-in-womens-olympic-boxing-paris-2024-controversy-explained-khelif-yu-ting/">says</a> that Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan, who has reached the finals of the women&#8217;s featherweight division, has XY chromosomes.
“Don’t mix, please, this with DSD,” Bach interrupted. “The question is pretty clear, and again, all the science, nobody can tell you at this moment where there is an advantage or no advantage. Here it is first and foremost about the question of a woman, yes or no. If you take further parameters. Look at the <a href="https://www.courthousenews.com/olympic-runner-caster-semenya-returns-to-rights-court/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Caster Semenya case</a>, which is still pending, and where the measures which have been applied have been considered by the European Court of Human Rights, as potentially violating human rights and therefore have been sent back to a Swiss court. There is, at this moment, there is no certainty.”

“Will you commit to a review of your guidelines on this matter, given the controversy on this matter?” a reporter asked.
“We have said from the very beginning, if somebody is presenting us a scientifically solid system how to identify men and women, we are the first ones to do it,” Bach answered. “We do not like this uncertainty. We do not like it for the overall situation, for nobody. So we would be more than pleased to look into it, but what is not possible, is if somebody is &#8216;This is not a woman&#8217; just by looking at somebody or by falling prey to a defamation campaign by not a credible organization with highly political interests.”

Two Olympic boxers who&#8217;ve failed past gender tests have easily made their way to gold-medal matches in their respective weight classes at the Paris Games.
Lin Yu‑Ting of Taiwan and Imane Khelif of Algeria failed gender tests facilitated by the International Boxing Association (IBA). Still, the Olympics permitted both fighters to compete in women’s boxing.
Lin and Khelif have notably dominated female opponents. Both have won every single round, and Khelif has even won every judge’s card. They&#8217;re now guaranteed either a gold or a silver medal. 
Here&#8217;s what you need to know about the controversy.
Protests From Female Opponents 
Unsurprisingly, the fighters&#8217; path to the finals has sparked much outrage and debate. Two of Khelif’s opponents, for example, have made comments about the glaring gender issue. Angela Carini of Italy initially called her match “unjust,&#8221; and Hungarian fighter Anna Luca Hamori published numerous posts on social media about Khelif allegedly being male. 
As for Lin, Bulgarian fighter Svetlana Staneva made an “X” gesture two times with her hands after losing to Lin – an apparent reference to having two X chromosomes as a female. Staneva’s coach also protested, sharing a note with the press that <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olympics/2024/08/04/lin-yu-ting-boxer-olympics/">read</a>, “I only want to play with women I am XX.” Moreover, on Wednesday, Lin’s opponent from Turkey also made the double-X hand gesture after the semifinal match. 
What The IBA Is Saying 
Members of the IBA held a press conference in Paris on Monday and said that Lin and Khelif failed two gender tests, one in 2019 and one in 2023. Chris Roberts, the IBA CEO, said the tests were given to the fighters after they were made aware of concerns about safety from a number of fighters, coaches, and medical staffers.

Roberts further explained that Khelif and Lin were informed that they tested for XY chromosomes and were given the opportunity to appeal the findings to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The IBA, he said, offered to pay the majority of the appeal; Yu-ting did not appeal, and Khelif appealed initially but then withdrew the appeal.
The presser notably turned testy when Dr. Ioannis Filippatos, the former Chair of the IBA Medical Committee, told reporters that biology and nature cannot change.

Moreover, IBA President Umar Kremlev went after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for permitting the boxers to compete with women. He <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2024/08/03/iba-paying-italian-boxer-fought-imane-khelif/74656727007/">said</a> in a press release that he doesn&#8217;t understand why the IOC is “killing” women’s boxing and emphasized that “only eligible athletes should compete in the ring for the sake of safety.&#8221;
What The IOC Is Saying
The IOC is sticking by its decision to allow Lin and Khelif to compete against women. IOC spokesman Mark Adams has said that the IBA gender tests are “not credible” because the IBA is not credible, and the reasoning for the gender tests are not credible. 
Adams has made it clear that the tests, even if the IBA is right about them, don’t matter to the IOC. “There was no consideration of whether they were correct or not correct because they had no bearing for the eligibility of boxing here,&#8221; he stated. 
Additionally, the ICO has suggested that Khelif does not identify as &#8220;transgender&#8221; but did not rule out the fighter being intersex (see more, below). 
IOC Gender Standards 
To determine gender, the IOC goes by whatever is listed on a fighter’s passport. “As with previous Olympic boxing competitions, gender and age of the athletes are based on their passport,&#8221; Adams <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4HiUIX9o00&amp;t=3s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> at a press conference. 
Aside from not testing for sex, Adams has said that testosterone levels don’t really matter, either. &#8220;Many women can have testosterone which will be called &#8216;male levels&#8217; and still be women and still compete as women,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This idea that you do one test for testosterone and that sorts everything out? Not the case I&#8217;m afraid.” 
The IOC, however, has released statements asserting that the fighters are female and were born female. It seems no medical tests are the basis for those statements.  
Do The Fighters Have DSD?
The IOC last week implied that Khelif is intersex, with a correction issued on X.
&#8220;CORRECTION In today’s IOC – Paris 2024 press briefing, IOC President Bach said: &#8216;But I repeat, here, this is not a DSD case, this is about a woman taking part in a women’s competition, and I think I have explained this many times,'&#8221; the post said. &#8220;What was intended was: &#8216;But I repeat, here, this is not a transgender case, this is about a woman taking part in a women’s competition, and I think I have explained this many times.'&#8221;
&#8220;DSD&#8221; stands for “differences of sex development,” and it’s another term for “intersex.”

The correction suggests the IBA tests are indeed &#8220;credible,&#8221; and the fighters do not have female chromosomes. More precisely, the IBA president has <a href="https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/menasource/imane-khelif-olympics-carini/#:~:text=The%20IBA%20stated%20that%2C%20ahead,proven%20they%20have%20XY%20chromosomes.”" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated</a> that the fighters have XY chromosomes, which is the pattern for males.
The presence of a Y chromosome &#8220;can lead to the development of biological characteristics associated with maleness, including higher levels of testosterone,&#8221; The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/08/sports/semenya-xy-chromosomes.html#:~:text=Sinai%20Health%20System.,including%20higher%20levels%20of%20testosterone." target="_blank" rel="noopener">notes</a>. Moreover, per the NIH, in the majority of DSD cases with XY chromosomes, &#8220;male gonads are identified.&#8221;
When Are The Final Matches? 
Khelif will face Yang Liu of China on Friday, at 4:50 p.m. Eastern. Lin&#8217;s final match is against Polish fighter Julia Szeremeta on Saturday, at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.

In a post on <a href="https://x.com/KirkHerbstreit/status/1820833772247429341">X</a> on Tuesday that’s since gone viral, a person posed a question to Herbstreit that read, “Do men belong in women&#8217;s sports? Time for influential men in sports media to stand up, Kirk,” <a href="https://www.outkick.com/sports/kirk-herbstreit-men-womens-sports">OutKick</a> reported.
The broadcaster saw the post and replied, retweeting the person’s question and answered, “Of course not. Ridiculous question.”
His comments were met with praise by others who agreed that it’s wrong for men to compete against women in female sports, including former ESPN host Sage Steele, who left the network in 2023.

During a press conference on Monday, the IBA announced the findings from past gender chromosome tests they did of both Khelif and Lin Yu‑ting, revealing that “the blood results look and say — the laboratories — that this boxer is male,” as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boxer-who-failed-gender-tests-advances-to-gold-medal-match-after-dominating-another-female-opponent">reported</a>.

‘Ridiculous’: ESPN Sportscaster Makes It Clear He Thinks Men Do Not ‘Belong In Women’s Sports’

A boxer who has failed past gender eligibility tests has taken down another female opponent at the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/paris-olympics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paris Olympics</a>, and has easily advanced to the gold-medal match, which is scheduled for Friday.
Imane Khelif of Algeria dominated female boxer Janjaem Suwannapheng of Thailand 5:0 in the semifinals on Tuesday. Suwannapheng was pounded with punches in the third round and took a standing eight-count.
Thus far in the Paris Olympics, Khelif has won every single round on every judge&#8217;s card.
Khelif and Lin Yu‑ting of Taiwan both failed gender tests in 2019 and 2023, per the International Boxing Association (IBA).
A blood test in 2019 showed that the fighters had “inconsistent” results, suggesting that the bloodwork was inconsistent with that of a female, IBA CEO Chris Roberts said during a press conference on Monday. In 2023, another test revealed that the fighters “demonstrated the chromosomes we refer to in competition rules that make both boxers ineligible,&#8221; he added.
Khelif and Lin were subsequently disqualified from the 2023 world championships. Notably, Suwannapheng and Khelif fought during the tournament before Khelif&#8217;s disqualification. Khelif won that match, too.

Opponents of Khelif and Lin have spoken out about having to fight the boxers. Angela Carini of Italy, for example, called her match “unjust,&#8221; before later walking back the comments. Hungarian fighter Anna Luca Hamori, who also lost to Khelif, published numerous posts on social media that related to Khelif being a man before their fight. 
As for Lin, Bulgarian fighter Svetlana Staneva staged a protest with her coach after their fight. Staneva made the “X” gesture two times with her hands &#8212; a reference to having XX chromosomes as a female &#8212; after her loss to Lin. And Staneva’s coach shared a note with the press that <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/olympics/2024/08/04/lin-yu-ting-boxer-olympics/">read</a>, “I only want to play with women I am XX.”
International Olympics Committee (IOC) spokesperson Mark Adams, however, has claimed that the IBA gender tests are “not credible” because the IBA is not credible and the reasoning for the tests is not credible, ESPN <a href="https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/_/id/40732301/ioc-says-boxers-gender-dispute-remain-paris-olympics">reported</a>.
“There was no consideration of whether they were correct or not correct because they had no bearing for the eligibility of boxing here,” he said.
