In June, the actress was a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feels-like-a-threat-sydney-sweeneys-tiny-outfit-at-award-show-riles-up-body-positivity-activists">target of the &#8220;body positivity&#8221; movement</a> for being attractive and wearing a miniskirt at the MTV Movie and TV Awards.</p>
<p>“Why Sydney Sweeney’s micromini outfit feels like a threat to body positivity: ‘So coveted yet unachievable,&#8217;” Kerry Justich headlined a <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/sydney-sweeneys-micro-mini-outfit-body-positivity-213845522.html">piece</a>, which cited numerous upset social media users and “body acceptance advocates.”</p>
<p>“Sydney Sweeney had her toned midriff on full display at the MTV Movie and TV awards where she wore a micro-miniskirt paired with a super-cropped collared top by Miu Miu,” she wrote. “While the low-rise trend has already been seeing a resurgence, the red carpet moment is triggering a response from people who’d like to leave it in the past.”</p>
<p>Justich said <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actress-sydney-sweeney-talks-past-nude-scene-regrets-i-feel-disgusting">Sweeney</a> pulled off the throwback look “beautifully,” but said apparent reluctance to praise the outfit from onlookers “has less to do with the styling than it does the messaging about beauty and body standards.”</p>

<p>A purple-haired Instacart driver in Minnesota allegedly drove her car over an elderly couple&#8217;s groceries after delivering them and left an expletive-laden note after seeing their sign thanking the police last week, according to law enforcement.</p>
<p>The couple said they had placed an order for delivery from a local Cub Foods in Coon Rapids, a suburb north of Minneapolis, to be delivered on Monday of last week, the Blaine Police Department said.</p>
<p>Police said the residents came outside because they were concerned the Instacart driver would get stuck in their snowy driveway, but when they came out, she yelled at them.</p>
<p>The suspect, Tara Olivia Plum, 36, allegedly yelled at the couple to check inside of the Christmas wreath on their front door. There they found a vulgar note scrawled on a receipt.</p>
<p>“Instacart doesn’t pay employees. Sry [sorry] find another slave,” the purple-haired suspect allegedly wrote on the receipt, according to a photo of the message, which also featured the phrases &#8220;f*** the police&#8221; and &#8220;racist pigs.&#8221;</p>
<p>She also ran over about $50 in groceries she had delivered, the couple said.</p>
<p>&#8220;They also reported the driver was driving back and forth in the driveway. &#8230; After the delivery driver left they found that their groceries had been run over in the driveway,&#8221; police said in a <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=210689034569791&amp;set=pcb.210691144569580">press release</a> on the incident.</p>
<p>Police posted a photo of the destroyed groceries to Facebook. Coffee creamer, bananas, and soda appear to be included in the pile of ruined food.</p>
<p>Plum lashed out at the couple over their sign reading “Thank you Blaine P.D,” Police Chief Brian Podany said.</p>
<p>The sign also included a heart with the “Thin Blue Line” flag, which signifies support for the police.</p>
<p>Instacart <a href="https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/police-couple-claims-grocery-delivery-destroyed-over-law-enforcement-support/89-00795982-1437-46d5-a442-d6f34719df1c">said</a> Plum has since been fired as an Instacart driver. The delivery service also said it refunded the couple for their grocery order.</p>
<p>&#8220;We’re appalled by the unacceptable actions of this shopper, who has been removed from the Instacart platform as a result,&#8221; Instacart said in a statement. &#8220;We&#8217;ve been in direct contact with the customers to refund their order and provide additional resources. We&#8217;ll continue to provide support to the impacted customers and will also work directly with local law enforcement on any investigations into this matter.&#8221;</p>
<p>Amber Gray, who appears to be someone close with the couple, started a <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/ksezvv-grocery-fund?member=15866435&amp;sharetype=teams&amp;utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&amp;utm_medium=copy_link&amp;utm_source=customer">GoFundMe</a> for their grocery bills.</p>
<p>&#8220;Tara probably doesn&#8217;t know how carefully those $50 in groceries were budgeted for. Or how devastating the recent medical diagnosis has been. Or how scared and vulnerable her vile act of hatred made them feel,&#8221; Gray <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10308943/Minneapolis-Instacart-driver-DESTROYS-elderly-couples-groceries-pro-police-sign-yard.html">wrote</a>.</p>
<p>The fundraiser raised nearly $14,000 before the family closed the page, saying they are &#8220;humbled by the overwhelming support and generosity&#8221; and &#8220;no longer feel comfortable accepting more donations.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re law enforcement. We get not everybody likes us, we understand that. But don&#8217;t take that out on innocent people out there, especially people who are trying to contribute to this person&#8217;s livelihood,&#8221; Podany <a href="https://www.fox9.com/news/police-instacart-driver-ran-over-groceries-over-thank-you-blaine-pd-sign?fbclid=IwAR0mxyYrzt8C2xOijrV9ptULijEHb42qy6usnMoOBudPKIzzMScSPbHqLNk">said</a>.</p>

‘Racist Pigs:’ Purple-Haired Delivery Driver Allegedly Smashes Elderly Couple’s Groceries Over Pro-Police Sign

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Friends and colleagues of fallen Chicago police officer Ella French hosted a vigil to honor her legacy. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In videos and photos obtained by The Daily Wire, community members and police officers can be seen releasing blue balloons and star-shaped balloons into the sky. Officers created a small vigil featuring signs that read, “Watch over us, you will never be forgotten,” and “You are our hero.” </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The vigil was held after two young men were charged with the shooting of the 29-year-old officer and her partner, who remains in the hospital. The duo shot and killed French during a traffic stop on Saturday night. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to the</span><a href="https://fox8.com/news/brothers-charged-in-fatal-shooting-of-chicago-police-officer-ella-french/"><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, brothers Emonte Morgan, 21, and Eric Morgan, 22, were charged with the death of French. The younger brother is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. The older brother is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and obstruction of justice. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://fox8.com/news/brothers-charged-in-fatal-shooting-of-chicago-police-officer-ella-french/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Local news outlets</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> reported that Emonte Morgan has a previous criminal record. The younger Morgan was previously charged with minor traffic offenses, fleeing the scene of a traffic offense, operating a vehicle without a license, and driving uninsured. In 2019, he was charged with battery and theft. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Chicago Police Department Superintendent David Brown </span><a href="https://fox8.com/news/brothers-charged-in-fatal-shooting-of-chicago-police-officer-ella-french/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">said</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that Jamal Danzy, a man from Hammond, Indiana, was charged with purchasing and illegally supplying one of the Morgan brothers with a handgun. CPD accused Danzy of buying the handgun from a licensed gun dealer and transferring the firearm to an out-of-state resident. Brown said that Danzy knowingly disposed of the firearm to a convicted felon. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In a statement to the </span><a href="https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/breaking/ct-2-officers-shot-west-englewood-20210808-ynzwgfvclzg4lgmlbsffv5peci-story.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Chicago Tribune</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, French’s brother shared insight into his fallen sister’s character. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“She’s my sister, she’s my little sister,” Andrew French said. “And as much as I was there for her when we were growing up, she was there for me. And I was proud of her, I’m still proud of her… God took the wrong kid.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Chicago, like many large cities across the nation, has seen a large surge of crime. According to </span><a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/47-people-shot-in-less-than-24-hours-in-chicago-7-killed"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Daily Wire</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, nearly 50 people were shot in just under 24 hours in Chicago over the weekend. It marks one of the work weekends of Chicago violence in 2021. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mayor Lori Lightfoot opted to blame guns and “the violence they bring” for the death of French. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Some say we don’t do enough for the police,” Lightfoot said. “Others say we do too much. All of this must stop. We have a common enemy: it’s guns [and] the violence they bring. Two young people did what we asked of them: service over self. And one paid with her life.” </span></p>

<p class="p2">A 19-year-old girl was charged with disorderly conduct and “criminal mischief” with a hate-crime enhancement after she allegedly crumpled a “back the blue” sign in front of a sheriff’s deputy.</p>
<p class="p2">As The Washington Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/07/14/pro-police-hate-crime-charges-utah/"><span class="s1">reported</span></a> on Wednesday, “A sheriff’s deputy was wrapping up a routine traffic stop at a Utah gas station last week when he saw a teen take a ‘back the blue’ sign — which urged support for police officers — and stomp on it after her friend was pulled over.”</p>
<p class="p2">The 19-year-old “then allegedly crumpled it up in a ‘destructive manner’ and threw it in a trash can, Garfield County Sheriff’s Deputy Cree Carter wrote in an affidavit. The officer, who accused [the teen] of allegedly ‘smirking’ at him ‘in an intimidating manner,’ arrested her,” per The Post.</p>
<p class="p2">“Due to the demeanor displayed by Gibson in attempts to intimate law enforcement while destroying a ‘Pro Law Enforcement’ sign the allegations are being treated as a ‘Hate Crime’ enhanced allegation,” Carter wrote in his affidavit. The misdemeanor could reportedly lead to a maximum one-year sentence.</p>
<p>&#8220;The [&#8216;criminal mischief&#8217; with a hate-crime enhancement] crime, county prosecutors allege, was committed with &#8216;the intent to intimidate or terrorize another person&#8217; in violation of Utah’s 2019 hate-crime law,&#8221; per The Post.</p>
<p class="p2">The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/562932-teen-who-allegedly-crumpled-up-blue-lives-matter-sign-charged-with-hate"><span class="s1">reported</span></a> that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Utah released a <a href="https://www.acluutah.org/newsroom/in-the-media/item/1719-backtheblue-hatecrimes-garfieldcounty">statement</a> about the matter. The group said it was “troubled and disappointed” about the “decision of the Garfield County Attorney&#8217;s office to add a hate crime enhancement to charges.”</p>
<p class="p2">The statement went on, “This kind of charging decision sends an extremely chilling message to the community that the government will seek harsher punishment for people charged with crimes who disagree with police actions. This concern is even greater because we do not view the enhancement as supportable under the language of the statute.”</p>
<p class="p2">The group added, “<span class="s2">We consistently warn</span> that enhancements are oftentimes used to single out unpopular groups or messages rather than provide protections for marginalized communities. This case has confirmed those warnings.”</p>
<p class="p2">The teen conducted an <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/how-a-19-year-old-got-charged-with-a-hate-crime-for-teasing-a-cop"><span class="s1">interview</span></a> with The Daily Beast, which explained her side of the story.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p2">“[She] was in a caravan of friends heading from their camping spot in Panguitch, <span class="s1">Utah</span>, back to <span class="s1">California</span> last week when one of the cars was pulled over for <span class="s1">speeding</span>. The stop took place near a gas station in the small town of less than 2,000 people,” The Daily Beast reported.</p>
<p class="p2">The teen “said the Garfield County Sheriff’s Deputy who pulled over her friend&#8217;s car was aggressive and eventually wrote her friend a ticket for speeding. After watching the interaction, she said, she was upset and picked up a rusted ‘Back the Blue’ sign that she said her friends had found on the side of the road and kept in one of the cars,&#8221; per the outlet.</p>
<p class="p2">“I don’t feel like I did anything wrong,” she said, noting to the outlet that she doesn’t consider herself to be “anti-police.”</p>
<p class="p2">“If it was a dentist’s sign or something and I just crushed a dentist sign or something in front of them, like, nothing would have happened,” she added. “It’s the same thing. it’s just an occupation.”</p>
<p class="p2">Per the legal background, The Beast noted, “While the model hate-crime statute that the ADL drafted for Utah was meant to protect victims of certain races, religion, or sexual orientations, [Seth Brysk, a Utah regional director with the Anti-Defamation League] said the version that eventually passed in Utah also applies that protected status to law-enforcement officers. Louisiana passed a similar addition to their hate crime statute in 2016, at a time when, as now, protests against police violence were visible in the state and nationally.”</p>
<p>The outlet added that a similar incident occurred last year in Utah involving a hate crime charge against a 32-year-old man who defaced a &#8220;Back the Blue&#8221; sign.</p>
<p>The 19-year-old claimed that &#8220;she started to glean the gist about [the previous] case from the deputy who arrested her last week,&#8221; per the Beast.</p>
<p>“He told me, ‘Do you want to know what happened to the last person that got arrested for this?’” she said. “He was kind of threatening me in that way.”</p>
<p class="p2">As <a href="https://wset.com/news/coronavirus/honoring-the-fallen-police-officers-killed-in-the-line-of-duty"><span class="s1">reported</span></a> by ABC 13 News, there was a sharp increase in police officers who were killed in the line of duty last year.</p>
<p class="p2">“A staggering 264 police officers were killed in the line of duty in 2020 representing a 96% increase compared to the previous year, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund,” the outlet noted, although the Fund’s report includes deaths from COVID-19 in the category of “other” reasons.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

<p>The online retail behemoth Amazon has come under fire by law enforcement for allowing a third party to use its e-commerce platform to sell &#8220;Blue Lives Murder&#8221; merchandise.</p>
<p>In a letter sent to Amazon&#8217;s Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky of the Detectives’ Endowment Association (DEA) demanded that the company stop allowing the &#8220;disgusting&#8221; merchandise to be sold, arguing that it puts cops “at peril and risk.”</p>
<p>“It has come to my attention that your website is selling tee-shirts (sic) and other items emblazoned with the words ‘Blue Lives Murder,&#8217;” the letter read. “It’s disheartening that your company would allow this disgusting motto on your sales platform.”</p>
<p>The letter further demanded that the online retail outlet immediately remove the items, arguing that the phrase&#8217;s “only purpose is to invite further division, hatred, and violence toward the hard-working men and women of the nation’s Police Departments, who are toiling every day to keep their communities safe.”</p>
<p>“To continue to hawk products emblazoned with this vile phrase puts the lives of Police Officers, and all law enforcement nationwide, at peril and risk,” the letter said.</p>

<p>The phrase &#8220;Blue Lives Aren&#8217;t Real&#8221; is nearly identical to statements made by NAACP chapter president Bishop Talbert Swan, who said last year &#8220;there is no such thing&#8221; as a &#8220;blue life&#8221; because police choose to do their jobs whereas black people do not choose the color of their skin.</p>
<p>“There’s no such thing as BLUE LIVES… Stop comparing your JOB with my LIFE… Your CAREER is a choice, my BLACKNESS isn’t. #BlackLivesMatter  #BlueLivesMatter,” he tweeted.</p>
<p>“No one deserves to be unjustly murdered, police or citizens,” he continued. “If you’re expressing outrage over the shooting of two sheriff’s deputies, but we’re [sic] defending #KyleRittenhouse murdering two protesters in #Kenosha only days ago, you need to shut up and have a seat.”</p>
<p>Bishop Talbert Swan’s tweet came after two sheriff’s deputies were shot in their patrol car parked by a metro station in Compton, California, and he was not the only activist to respond to the news without sympathy. <p>A high school in Morrow, Ohio, has reportedly suspended two players from its football team after the players ignored a warning that they could not fly flags honoring first responders during the team&#8217;s game last week on the anniversary of 9/11.</p>
<p>&#8220;When the Little Miami High School football team took the field Friday, Sept. 11, a couple of players carried alongside the American flag a Thin Blue Line and Thin Red Line flags,&#8221; Local 12/WKRC-TV <a href="https://archive.is/deBeo">reported</a>. &#8220;The problem is, the boys had asked the school permission prior to the game and they were denied and told if they defied the order, there would be consequences.&#8221;</p>
<p>The players — Brady Williams and Jared Bentley — flew the flags to honor firefighters and police officers on the 19th anniversary of the radical Islamic terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. The local news station said that Williams&#8217; father is a police officer and Bentley&#8217;s father is a firefighter.</p>

<p>When Williams was asked by local media if the flags were meant to be a political statement, he responded: “No. Not at all. I was just doing it to honor the people that lost their lives 19 years ago.“</p>

<p>People gathered to support police during a Sunday rally in downtown Kenosha, Wisconsin, offering a contrast to the sometimes violent demonstrations protesting police brutality that have roiled the city after Jacob Blake&#8217;s shooting.</p>
<p>As The Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/0f8b184872f489a75548914049e41b13" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a>, rally-goers numbered in the &#8220;scores,&#8221; some of whom wore &#8220;back the blue&#8221; T-shirts, waved American or Blue Lives Matter flags, and applauded as police vehicles drove by.</p>
<p>Jennifer Payton, 44, who attended the rally, told the AP, &#8220;With the things that they face on a daily basis, they need that little extra push of love and to show that they are needed. I mean, if you went in to work every day, and you were told that you were bad or had things thrown at you, I think it would weigh on your psyche a little bit, too.&#8221;</p>
<p>Kenosha has been at the center of the national stage since police shot Jacob Blake on Aug. 23 after responding to a domestic dispute, paralyzing him. Since then, the town along Lake Michigan, about 40 miles south of Milwaukee, has seen protests every night. On Tuesday, authorities say <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kyle-rittenhouse-defense-issues-statement-protected-himself-from-potentially-deadly-mob" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a teenager</a> armed with a rifle fatally shot two protesters and has since been charged with first-degree murder.</p>
<p>President Donald Trump announced his intention to visit the riot-torn city on Tuesday, despite Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers&#8217; request that he &#8220;reconsider.&#8221; As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wisconsin-gov-asks-trump-to-reconsider-kenosha-visit-may-hinder-our-healing">reported</a>:</p>

<p>“It is our job as elected officials to lead by example and to be a calming presence for the people we know are hurting, mourning, and trying to cope with trauma. Now is not the time for divisiveness. Now is not the time for elected officials to ignore armed militants and out-of-state instigators who want to contribute to our anguish,” said Evers.</p></blockquote>
<p>Kenosha police revealed Monday that of the 175 arrests made in connection with the recent rioting and looting of the city, more than 100 were not Kenosha residents, and represented 44 different cities. As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kenosha-police-reveal-most-riot-arrests-were-from-outside-the-city" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a>:</p>
<blockquote><p>Among those arrested by Kenosha police were members of “Riot Kitchen,” a Portland-based organization that claims affiliation with “anti-fascist” organizations but says it shows up to protests to feed hungry demonstrators and members of the local homeless community. The group, which arrived in Kenosha in two buses, was detained and then arrested by both the Kenosha Police Department and the Wisconsin National Guard.</p>
<p>Although Riot Kitchen claimed police brutality, suggesting that they had been singled out for their agenda and their out-of-state license plates, Kenosha police revealed that the Riot Kitchen crew was carrying “multiple fuel cans,” and attracted officer attention with what appeared to preparations for violence.</p></blockquote>

<p>President Donald Trump said he is open to stripping the Goodyear tires off of the presidential limousine — dubbed &#8220;The Beast&#8221; — after controversy erupted this week when a slide from a company presentation showed that it discriminates against conservative activism while championing leftist activism.</p>
<p>&#8220;Well, I’m not happy with Goodyear because what they’re doing is playing politics. And the funny thing is the people that work for Goodyear — I can guarantee you I poll very well with all of those great workers in Goodyear,&#8221; Trump said during a press conference regarding whether he wanted the federal government to stop buying and using Goodyear products.</p>
<p>&#8220;And when they say that you can’t have &#8216;Blue Lives Matter,&#8217; you can’t show a blue line, you can’t wear a MAGA hat, but you can have other things that are Marxist in nature, there’s something wrong with the top of Goodyear,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;And what the radical left does is they make it impossible for people to do business if they’re Republican or if they’re conservative. They put out all sorts of effort: &#8216;Don’t shop there.&#8217; They do vicious things, not so different than what you saw on the streets of Portland two nights ago.&#8221;</p>
<p>When he was asked what kind of boycott he envisioned against Goodyear, Trump said it was up to the people to do as the please but added that he &#8220;wouldn’t recommend&#8221; buying Goodyear tires.</p>
<p>&#8220;If they — if they want to hold political speech, if they want to let you not do what everybody is doing; if they want to wear a MAGA hat or if they want to wear a &#8216;Blue Lives…&#8217; You know what &#8216;Blue Lives Matter,&#8217; right? That’s policemen and women. That’s a terrible thing. That’s a terrible thing,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;So they’re using their power over these people, and these people want to wear whatever it is that we’re talking about. You know that. And so I would be very much in favor if people don’t want to buy there.  And you know what?  They’ll be able to get a good job — because we set a jobs record over the last quarter, as you know. The most jobs ever in the history of our country. You’ll be able to get another good job.  I think it’s disgraceful that they did this.&#8221;</p>
<p>Trump called for a boycott of Goodyear tires earlier this week, which <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/goodyears-stock-fall-after-trump-tweet-urging-boycott-of-companys-tires-while-rivals-shares-gain-2020-08-19">reportedly</a> sent the company&#8217;s stock price tumbling while their competitors saw gains.</p>
<p>Later, when asked if he would want to swap out the tires on the presidential limousine, Trump responded, &#8220;Yeah, I would do that.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I would — I would swap them out, based on what I heard,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;We’ll see what happens. Hey, look, you’re going to have a lot of people not wanting to buy that product anymore, and they’ll buy from a competitor — made in the USA, too.&#8221;</p>

<p>Goodyear responded to backlash and a call for a national boycott from President Donald Trump on Wednesday, issuing a lengthy statement explaining that they ask associates to &#8220;refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning&#8221; and &#8220;advocacy&#8221; that &#8220;fall outside the scope of racial justice and equality issues,&#8221; seemingly referencing BLM and LGBT activism.</p>
<p>On Tuesday, a local news station in Topeka, Kansas, <a href="https://www.wibw.com/2020/08/18/goodyear-employees-say-new-no-tolerance-policy-is-discriminatory/">reported</a> on an apparent diversity training seminar at the Topeka Goodyear plant which allegedly included a slide outlining the company’s &#8220;zero-tolerance policy.&#8221; An alleged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/walsh-goodyear-bans-blue-lives-matter-and-maga-shirts-allows-blm-and-lgbt-messages?target_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fwalsh-goodyear-bans-blue-lives-matter-and-maga-shirts-allows-blm-and-lgbt-messages%3Futm_source%3Dfacebook%26utm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_campaign%3Dbenshapiro">leaked image</a> from the training lists Black Lives Matter and LGBT pride messages as &#8220;acceptable,&#8221; whereas pro-police Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, and MAGA attire as &#8220;unacceptable.&#8221;</p>

<p>Hours later, President Donald Trump echoed the same, noting that the Left&#8217;s tactics should be adopted by the Right with regard to boycotting.</p>

<p>&#8220;Yesterday, Goodyear became the focus of a conversation that created some misconceptions about our policies and our company,&#8221; the company captioned an image of the statement. &#8220;Goodyear has always wholeheartedly supported both equality and law enforcement and will continue to do so.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;For those not aware, a widely circulated image sparked a strong reaction, and we wanted to take the opportunity to provide some important context to the visual and our policies,&#8221; the statement starts.</p>
<p>Goodyear insisted, &#8220;the visual in question was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate, nor was it part of a diversity training class. To be clear on our longstanding corporate policy, Goodyear has zero-tolerance for any form of harassment or discrimination. To enable a work environment free of those, we ask that associates refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equality issues.&#8221;</p>
<p>Concluding their statement, the company noted their support for law enforcement.</p>
<p>&#8220;Goodyear has always wholeheartedly supported both equality and law enforcement and will continue to do so,&#8221; it said. &#8220;These are not mutually exclusive. We have heard from some of you that believe Goodyear is anti-police after reacting to the visual. <p>A man was arrested and charged after driving through a crowd of peaceful pro-police protesters in Eaton, Colorado, on Saturday, according to local authorities. Additionally, one other individual was cited for &#8220;throwing missiles.&#8221;</p>

<p>The rally, which was hosted by the Northern Colorado Young Republicans and preceded by a food drive for the needy, was disrupted in the late afternoon when the male suspect jumped a curb and drove through the Blue Lives Matter protest in a maroon SUV, nearly hitting rally participants.</p>
<p>&#8220;On 07/25/2020 at approximately 3:38PM Eaton Police Department responded to a report in the 200 block of Collins St. of a male subject who was traveling in a maroon SUV attempting to drive through or over a crowd of pedestrians,&#8221; said a post from the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/eatonpolicedepartmentcolorado/posts/3135984853175141">Eaton Police Department</a>. &#8220;The pedestrians were participating in a Blue Lives Matter rally on 07/25/2020.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The maroon SUV exited the roadway and was traveling through the grass park,&#8221; the post said. &#8220;The SUV and subject left the area at a high rate of speed and was later taken into custody at the 1100 block of 2nd St. Rd in the Town of Eaton. The Subject was taken into custody at 3:40PM.&#8221;</p>

<p dir="auto">The man was charged with seven counts of attempted first-degree assault, seven counts of felony menacing, and reckless driving.</p>
<p>&#8220;In addition,&#8221; the police department statement continued, &#8220;a second individual in the incident described was cited with a municipal citation for throwing missiles.&#8221;</p>

<p dir="auto">There were more than 100 individuals who attended the rally, said a <a href="https://www.greeleytribune.com/2020/07/25/defend-the-police-rally-in-eaton-nearly-turns-tragic/">report</a> from the Greeley Tribune.</p>
<p>&#8220;According to rally attendees, about 3:30 p.m. the SUV drove west up Collins Street, barreled over the curb, cutting across the park grass on the south side,&#8221; the report outlined. &#8220;The vehicle drove down into a lower grassy area almost hitting some rally participants before returning to the road.&#8221;</p>
<p>Some of the Blue Lives Matter participants said the suspect &#8220;was the same individual who drove east on Collins Street before the incident while flipping off the crowd,&#8221; the Tribune noted.</p>
<p>“I am here to show my support for the police from all over the United States, not just Eaton, not just Ault,” rally participant Bob Snidow said. “I want them to know we care and what’s happening to them is wrong.”</p>
<p>Twenty-year-old Connie Williams came out to the rally to show her support for our first responders and our military.</p>
<p>“We are here today because we believe our democracy is being threatened,” she said. “And part of being in a small community is that your voice can be heard. The police, fire and military have always been there for us, so we feel we should be there for them.”</p>
