Far-Left Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ilhan-omar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ilhan Omar</a> (D-MN) survived her Democratic primary race on Tuesday, winning by a more comfortable margin than her 2022 race when she was nearly upset. 
Omar, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/heres-how-republicans-could-vote-to-oust-ilhan-omar-in-tuesdays-primary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was seen</a> as vulnerable after two of her fellow “Squad” members lost primary races earlier this year, won the Democratic nomination for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District with 56% of the vote. Challenger Don Samuels received 42.9% after almost pulling off an upset two years ago when he lost to Omar by just 2,500 votes. 
In a statement on X, Omar claimed that her win was a defeat for “special interests” and a win for “our movement.” 
“Whether it’s universal school meals, student debt cancellation, climate action, or a just foreign policy that reflects our values – the Fifth District showed tonight that we want to drive the nation toward a better future,” she said. “And our work is far from over. From protecting reproductive healthcare to reforming the Supreme Court to ending the genocide in Gaza to combatting the climate crisis–we will continue to fight for a more just world.”
Omar built a substantial fundraising advantage over Samuels, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/minnesota-primary-senate-house-omar-ccc166cf0b9c42fb9dbb98ba0d35c258" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> raising around $6.2 million compared to Samuels&#8217; $1.4 million. Polling before the race also indicated that Omar would win, with one poll from July showing her with a 27-point lead. 
Earlier this year, Omar&#8217;s fellow “Squad” members Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) lost widely watched primaries. 
Those members, along with Omar, have come under sharp criticism for their opposition to Israel. The United Democracy Project, a super PAC affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), targeted Bowman and Bush with $24 million in spending. The super PAC did not spend money against Omar this cycle. 
During the race, Samuels tried to highlight his more pro-Israel views in contrast to Omar, who he <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/campaigns/congressional/3120321/ilhan-omar-primary-squad-minnesota-elections/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> a “pawn for Hamas.”

Omar, whose district is solidly Democratic, said she would now focus on backing Kamala Harris&#8217;s presidential campaign. She previously praised Harris’s decision to add Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to the ticket, citing his support to legalize recreational marijuana and “protections for reproductive rights.”

Bush concluded by aiming a personal attack at Bell, currently serving as St. Louis County prosecuting attorney, alluding to an ongoing sex discrimination suit filed against his office. &#8220;The new member of Congress who will be taking over in January, you know, right before his trial starts &#8230; I&#8217;m sorry,&#8221; she said.

Bush got her start as an activist in Ferguson after the shooting death of Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson, and has since used debunked claims about Brown to elevate herself and push for radical policies like &#8220;defund the police.&#8221; She toppled incumbent Rep. William &#8220;Lacy&#8221; Clay Jr. (D-MO) in 2020, but lost to Bell in Tuesday&#8217;s Democratic primary 51.2-45.6.
The soon-to-be-former Missouri Congresswoman has repeatedly blamed AIPAC for her plummeting poll numbers, after the organization <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/08/04/cori-bush-wesley-bell-aipac-negative-ads" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dumped $9 million</a> into ads supporting Bell in his efforts to oust her. Fellow &#8220;Squad&#8221; member Jamaal Bowman — who also sided with anti-Israel protesters in the wake of last year&#8217;s October 7 massacre — was ousted in similar fashion earlier this summer, and has also blamed AIPAC for his political demise.
Bush is also under investigation for money paid out to her security-guard-turned-husband, especially as she retains expensive private security while calling for fewer police protections for her own constituents.

Hostin and her co-hosts reacted to Harris declaring herself the de facto nominee less than 48 hours after President Joe Biden — who has not been seen publicly in days — announced via a letter shared on X that he was leaving the 2024 campaign, posting a short time later that he was endorsing Harris to pick up where he&#8217;d left off.
&#8220;You know what I think? I think that they recognize they&#8217;re in trouble now with Kamala at the head of the ticket,&#8221; Hostin began, arguing that in her mind, people would respond to the optics of &#8220;pitting a former prosecutor against a convicted felon.&#8221;

Hostin went on to claim that it was a &#8220;fallacy that black men are gonna vote for Trump&#8221; because there was a phone call with an activist group called Win With Black Men, and they raised more than $1 million for Harris. She also suggested that all black women would vote for Harris.
&#8220;What I will say is stop with the &#8216;she didn&#8217;t earn it,'&#8221; Hostin demanded. &#8220;Stop with the &#8216;she is not qualified.'&#8221;
Hostin then claimed that because Harris was a black woman, she had to be &#8220;twice as good to get half as far.&#8221;
She did not mention the fact that when Harris ran her own presidential campaign beginning in 2019, she did not even make it to 2020 before lack of support caused her to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-kamala-harris-drops-out-of-presidential-race" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exit the race</a>. Hostin did not mention the fact that Harris was chosen to be Biden&#8217;s vice president only after he promised to select a woman of color. She also completely ignored the fact that Harris did not receive a single primary vote at the top of the ticket and had simply claimed ownership of the nomination after racking up some cash and a few high-profile endorsements.

According to a recent report, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jamaal-bowman-reportedly-asked-local-jewish-leader-for-photo-show-the-world-im-friends-with-jewish-people" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bowman</a> allegedly texted a Jewish leader in his district and asked for a photo of them together, explaining that he wanted to &#8220;show the world I&#8217;m friends with Jewish people.&#8221;
The Jewish leader, reportedly made uncomfortable by the request, opted not to send the photo: &#8220;I was uncomfortable. I kind of joked around with him about it. The GOP primary contest in Virginia&#8217;s 5th Congressional District between <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gop-congressman-makes-case-for-why-we-should-not-fear-a-government-shutdown" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rep. Bob Good</a> (R-VA), the chairman of the conservative <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mccarthy-dismisses-freedom-caucus-letter-urging-him-to-hold-the-line-on-spending-reforms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House Freedom Caucus</a>, and his challenger who is supported by former President Donald Trump remains too close to call more than 12 hours after the polls closed.
State Sen. John McGuire III led by 327 votes, or 0.52 percentage points, out of 62,495 ballots counted as of 12 a.m. Wednesday, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/virginia-primary-election-good-mcguire-1ed9cea1dd45a6cefae187ae968fa0ee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> the Associated Press, which noted that the state of Virginia observes the Juneteenth holiday and is not expected to release more results for the rest of the day. Multiple news outlets reported more than 95% of the votes have been counted.
In remarks to supporters on Tuesday evening, McGuire <a href="https://x.com/reesejgorman/status/1803271251655315733" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called himself</a> the Republican nominee. However, news outlets have yet to project a winner, and Good has not bowed out of the race.

Rep. Dean Phillips, the Democrat from Minnesota who challenged President Joe Biden in the party&#8217;s 2024 primary, ended his longshot attempt to win the nomination and endorsed Biden on Wednesday.
Phillips, 55, jumped into the race last October, arguing that 81-year-old Biden is a vulnerable incumbent candidate because of his age and saying it&#8217;s time for the party&#8217;s leader to &#8220;pass the torch.&#8221; Following dismal performances in Democratic primaries across the country, including a third-place finish behind Biden and &#8220;uncommitted&#8221; in his home state on Super Tuesday, Phillips announced he would suspend his campaign and get behind the president.
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to suspend my campaign and I will be, right now, endorsing President Biden because the choices are so clear,&#8221; Phillips said during an interview on a Minnesota radio show, according to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/dean-phillips-ends-presidential-campaign-rcna142091" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NBC News</a>.
In the Minnesota Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday, Biden won 70% of the vote, while &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nearly-20-of-minnesota-democratic-primary-voters-pick-uncommitted-over-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">uncommitted</a>&#8221; came in second place with nearly 20%, and Phillips finished in third with just 7.8%.
“Congratulations to Joe Biden, Uncommitted, Marianne Williamson, and Nikki Haley for demonstrating more appeal to Democratic Party loyalists than me,” Phillips posted on Tuesday night.
When he launched his campaign, the Democratic congressman warned about his party&#8217;s impending &#8220;emergency&#8221; in November if Biden remained the Democratic nominee.
“I will not sit still, I will not be quiet in the face of numbers that are so clearly saying we’re going to be facing an emergency next November,” Phillips told CBS News. When he announced his presidential campaign, Phillips admitted that the middle class was struggling under Biden&#8217;s watch.
“We have to make life more affordable for the middle class, which is the issue that voters care about most. We need to bring down the cost of living and make life affordable again,” he said. “As part of making life more affordable, we have to celebrate success. America should be the most prosperous country in the world, and we need to be both pro-business and pro-worker to get there.”
In a post on X on Wednesday, Phillips praised Biden&#8217;s &#8220;empathy and kindness&#8221; — sharing a photo of the then-vice president sitting next to Phillips&#8217; two young daughters — and said that Democrats must &#8220;resist Donald Trump again.&#8221;

A week after over 100,000 Democratic voters declined to cast a ballot for President Joe Biden in the Michigan primary, more than 45,000 Minnesota Democrats — nearly 20% of those who participated in the party&#8217;s Minnesota primary election on Super Tuesday — voted “uncommitted.”
With an estimated 80% of the vote counted as of Wednesday afternoon, Biden won the Minnesota Democratic primary with just over 70% of the vote, but his margin of victory was inhibited by 19% of Democrats who participated in the election voting “uncommitted,” according to <a href="https://elections2024.thehill.com/primaries/minnesota/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Decision Desk HQ</a>. Rep. Dean Phillips, a Democrat who represents Minnesota’s 3rd District, came in third behind Biden and “uncommitted” with 7.8%.
“Congratulations to Joe Biden, Uncommitted, Marianne Williamson, and Nikki Haley for demonstrating more appeal to Democratic Party loyalists than me,” Phillips <a href="https://twitter.com/deanbphillips/status/1765191271881064563?s=20">posted</a> on X on Tuesday night before suspending his campaign and endorsing Biden on Wednesday.
Like the results in Michigan a week ago, Biden’s hampered victory in Minnesota indicates a potential issue for Democrats heading into the general election as Muslim voters, a demographic that votes predominantly blue, have voiced frustration with the Biden administration’s support for Israel. Both Michigan and Minnesota have large Muslim populations, and far-Left activists have <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4507521-biden-wins-minnesota-democratic-primary/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">encouraged</a> voters to protest Biden’s stance on the Israel-Hamas war by voting “uncommitted.”
Both Minnesota and Michigan could be crucial for the president to hold onto in the 2024 election after his victories in both states helped propel him to a win in 2020 over former President Donald Trump. Biden won Minnesota by a safe margin in 2020, taking 52.4% of the vote to Trump’s 45.3%, while his win in Michigan was much closer, topping Trump by less than three percentage points.
A significant number of Democratic voters in other states also refused to support the president on Tuesday, with 88,000 Democrats—12.7% of those who went to the polls—voting “no preference” in <a href="https://elections2024.thehill.com/primaries/north-carolina/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">North Carolina</a> and 9.3% voting “no preference” in <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4510677-biden-wins-massachusetts-democratic-primary/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Massachusetts</a>.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) named former President Donald Trump the presumptive GOP nominee for president on Wednesday.
The RNC put out a <a href="https://gop.com/press-release/rnc-statement-congratulating-president-donald-trump-on-becoming-the-presumptive-nominee/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> calling Trump the winner of the primary shortly after former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley suspended her presidential campaign on Wednesday morning. Haley bowed out after a string of Super Tuesday losses that saw Trump make big gains in the delegate count ahead of the Republican convention.
“Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump on his huge primary victory! I’d also like to congratulate Nikki Haley for running a hard-fought campaign and becoming the first woman to win a Republican presidential primary contest,” RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement.
“President Trump once delivered a booming economy, secure border, energy independence, and America’s strength on the world stage, the exact opposite of the chaos created by Joe Biden,” she added. “Republican voters have spoken loud and clear with historically large margins and we are more united than ever to beat Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot in November.”
McDaniel has headed the RNC since 2017 and enjoyed support from Trump in that position until recently. Under <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/06/us/politics/trump-ronna-mcdaniel-rnc.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pressure</a> from the former president, <a href="https://www.npr.org/2024/02/26/1233867070/rnc-chair-ronna-mcdaniel-resigns" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the chairwoman announced</a> last week that she plans to step down this month. She is expected to leave her post on Friday, March 8.
McDaniel elicited anger from other members of her party when, in January, she urged Republicans to &#8220;unite&#8221; around Trump while other contenders were still vying for the GOP nomination.
Trump’s sweep of Super Tuesday states broke in Vermont, where Haley won the contest by roughly 4 points. It was Haley’s second primary victory of the cycle after she won in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.
Haley declined to speak after her lone Super Tuesday victory. Instead, her campaign released a statement touting Haley’s victory as a woman and warning of a “large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump.” Haley appeared on Wednesday morning to officially suspend her campaign. She did not endorse Trump.
Trump put out a <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/112049357098381588" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> on his social media platform, Truth Social, claiming victory over Haley on Super Tuesday and inviting her supporters to back him.

Former South Carolina Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nikki-haley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nikki Haley</a> will drop out of the Republican presidential nomination race on Wednesday after only picking up one state on Super Tuesday as former President Donald Trump dominated at the polls, according to multiple reports. 
Sources close to Haley told multiple <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/03/06/nikki-haley-suspends-campaign-2024-presidential" target="_blank" rel="noopener">outlets</a> that she would drop out of the race after just winning one of 15 contests on Tuesday. Haley was the last major challenger to Trump and has been critical of him throughout her campaign. She managed to defeat him in Vermont, but lost by wide margins in the other states that voted. 
“Today, in state after state, there remains a large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump,” spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/elections/nikki-haley-drops-out-2024-presidential-election-625277ca" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Tuesday. “That is not the unity our party needs for success.”
During her campaign, Haley picked up wins in the District of Columbia and Vermont, but failed to build momentum in other states, taking third in Iowa and losing by over ten points in New Hampshire after the rest of the field had dropped out. Last month, she was unable to win in her home state of South Carolina, where she is expected to announce the suspension of her campaign. 
The Koch network&#8217;s Americans for Prosperity <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/koch-network-pulls-funding-from-nikki-haley-after-4th-straight-loss" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dropped funding</a> for Haley after her fourth primary loss.
While initially promising to back the Republican party’s nominee last year, she has recently been hesitant to confirm whether she plans on endorsing Trump if he takes the nomination. Sources told the Wall Street Journal that she will not make an endorsement on Wednesday. 
 “What I will tell you is that I have serious concerns about Donald Trump. I have more serious concerns about Joe Biden,” she said in February.

During the Trump administration, Haley was his ambassador to the United Nations for several years. She has since been critical of him and claimed that he will be unable to beat President Joe Biden in November. She also has been vocal about Trump’s legal battles as he faces dozens of charges in multiple states. 
“This may be his survival mode to pay his legal fees and get out of some sort of legal peril, but this is like suicide for our country,” she said. “We’ve got to realize that if we don’t have someone who can win a general election, all we are doing is caving to the socialist left.”
Trump performed strongly on Tuesday, picking up wins across the South and earning victories in states like California, Minnesota, and Maine. Ahead of an expected rematch with Biden in November, he has taken the lead in polling in key swing states.

Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden each dominated their party&#8217;s respective primaries on Super Tuesday, moving closer to officially wrapping up the primary season as the two are set for a rematch this upcoming fall.
The Super Tuesday states are the same for both the Democratic Party and Republican Party with two exceptions. The Democratic Party&#8217;s Iowa Caucus is tonight, whereas the Republican Party&#8217;s Iowa Caucus was in January. And the Republican Party holds it Alaska Caucus tonight whereas the Democratic Party holds its contest in the state next month.
Trump reacted to his blowout victories across the country by calling it a &#8220;great evening&#8221; and saying that it was his &#8220;honor to represent not just the Republican Party but our country in leading it back to health and prosperity.&#8221;

President Joe Biden has won 812 delegates thus far, with the next closest candidate — Jason Palmer, an unknown candidate who beat Biden by 11 votes in American Samoa, 51 to 40 — having only 3 delegates. No other candidates have any delegates in the Democratic Party primary.

Super Tuesday primary elections will be <a href="https://www.npr.org/live-updates/super-tuesday-2024-states-results" target="_blank" rel="noopener">held</a> in 16 states and one U.S. territory as President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump move closer to their respective parties’ nominations. Other races in multiple states will likely have major implications for the battle over control of Congress.
Here are some down-ballot races to keep an eye on as the results start pouring in on Tuesday evening:
<h3>California Senate Primary</h3>
Numerous Democrats and Republicans are running for the seat of the late Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sen-dianne-feinstein-dies-at-90" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dianne Feinstein</a> (D-CA), who died in September. Democratic Reps. Adam Schiff, Katie Porter, Barbara Lee, and former MLB player Steve Garvey, a Republican, are expected to be in a tight race for the top two spots.
California holds a nonpartisan primary election for the Senate, in which the two candidates with the most votes — regardless of party affiliation — will move on to face each other head-to-head in the general election in November. Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-CA), a labor leader and activist whom Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom appointed to fill the Senate seat following Feinstein’s death, <a href="https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2023-10-19/laphonza-butler-senate-race-2024-schiff-porter-lee-feinstein-garvey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in October that she would not run to hold onto the seat.
According to <a href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/senate/2024/california/top-two-primary/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">FiveThirtyEight’s average</a> of polls on the Senate primary in California, Schiff leads the pack at 25.5%, with Garvey coming in second at 20.4% and Porter in third at 18.4%. Lee remains farther behind in the polls, coming in at 9.1%.
<h3>Texas Democratic Senate Primary</h3>
Democrats in Texas will head to the polls on Tuesday to choose their nominee to run against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for the seat the conservative senator has held since 2013. Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX), a former NFL player who has been serving in Congress since 2019, and Democratic state Sen. Roland Gutierrez are the favorites in a crowded field to win the party’s nomination.
Democrats have put a lot of attention on Texas in Cruz’s past two re-election campaigns, hoping to steal a Senate seat in the red state. In 2018, Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/texas-senate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost</a> to Cruz by more than 200,000 votes. No Democrat has won an election for statewide office in Texas in 30 years, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/texas-senate-race-2024-allred-cruz-a0a1b4a21feb99593d72cf4a2cf7f7aa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>.

Gutierrez, meanwhile, has criticized Allred for joining 14 other Democrats in backing a GOP-led resolution condemning Biden for his handling of the border crisis.
The <a href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/senate/2024/texas/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most recent polls</a> on the Democratic primary in Texas show Allred leading Gutierrez by double digits, with one poll showing the former Tennessee Titans player ahead by 38 points. If one candidate doesn’t get a majority of votes in the primary, the top two candidates will head to a runoff election on May 28.
<h3>Texas GOP House Primary</h3>
Another Texas race, this one for a U.S. House seat, could be a close contest as 11 Republicans look to move on to the general election. Brandon Gill, the son-in-law of conservative documentary filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, is endorsed by both Trump and Cruz. He is <a href="https://www.texastribune.org/2024/02/14/texas-congressional-district-26-2024-republican-primary-brandon-gill/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">considered</a> the frontrunner in the race with John Huffman, the mayor of Southlake, Texas, being his most prominent challenger.
The Republican candidates are looking to win the seat of outgoing Rep. Michael Burgess, who announced in November that he would retire at the end of his current term. A candidate must get more than 50% of the vote to win the primary. The top two candidates will move on to a runoff in May if no candidate reaches the majority threshold.
<h3>Alabama GOP House Primary</h3>
A primary in the red state of Alabama is pitting two incumbent Republicans against each other after the state redistricted. Reps. Jerry Carl and Barry Moore, both second-term congressmen, must now fight for the 1st District seat.
Moore is backed by House Freedom Action, a group tied to the conservative House Freedom Caucus, of which Moore is a member. Since Alabama’s 1st District is safely Republican, the winner of Tuesday’s primary is expected to win the general election in November easily. A recent <a href="https://www.aum.edu/aum-poll-examines-gop-primary-race-for-alabamas-first-congressional-district/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poll</a> from the University of Auburn Montgomery shows Carl leading Moore 43% to 35%.
<h3>North Carolina Gubernatorial Primaries</h3>
Both Republicans and Democrats will vote for a nominee in the North Carolina gubernatorial primaries on Tuesday. Democratic Governor Roy Cooper is term-limited after this year, serving in the governor’s mansion since 2017.
On the GOP side, Trump-endorsed candidate Mark Robinson, who is currently the state’s lieutenant governor, is facing two other Republican candidates, Bill Graham and Dale Folwell. For Democrats, state Attorney General Josh Stein is widely expected to win the party’s primary as he looks to fend off four challengers.
The general election for North Carolina governor is expected to be competitive and expensive. According to <a href="https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/governor/2024/north-carolina/general/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">polling</a>, Robinson and Stein are neck-and-neck in a potential general election matchup.
