President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden">Joe Biden</a> continues his slump of poor polling as his top rival Donald Trump creates more separation in both Republican primary and general election surveys. 
Trump hit a new high this week in the <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/general-election-trump-vs-biden-7383.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Real Clear Politics</a> average of 2024 general election polls, now leading Biden 47.2% to 44.9%. The 2.3-point difference is the former president’s largest advantage over Biden since May, according to the RCP average. Trump is also posting his highest polling numbers in the <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GOP primary</a> this week as he stands at 59.8% and holds a 46.3-point lead over the next closest challenger, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. 
In the five most recent polls of a general election rematch between Trump and Biden, Trump leads in all of them and posts a 6-point lead in two surveys. The most recent poll from Emerson puts Trump at 47% to Biden’s 43% in a two-way race, which is a 2-point drop for Biden since the last Emerson poll taken a month ago. Biden also fell two points in the latest survey from The Messenger/Harris X, dropping from 49% to 47% in a matter of weeks as Trump gained two points in the poll, moving from 51% to 53%. 
The most recent Morning Consult poll also showed improvement for Trump and spelled more bad news for Biden. According to two Morning Consult polls taken just a week apart, Trump moved up from 43% to 44% while Biden dropped from 42% to 41%.

Biden’s dip in the latest polls is coupled with his continued dismal approval ratings as the country faces numerous crises at home and abroad. According to the Real Clear Politics average of the president’s approval numbers, 55.5% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s performance and 40.6% approve. Some Democrats have expressed frustration and concern about the re-election chances of the now 81-year-old commander-in-chief while saying they’re “mystified” by Trump’s resurgence. 
The former president’s climb in the polls comes amid multiple legal battles after Trump was charged with state and federal crimes related to his challenging the 2020 election results and his handling of classified documents after leaving office.

Trump’s dominance in the GOP primary hasn’t been affected by a thinning Republican field after former Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) dropped out of the race in recent weeks. DeSantis is now neck-and-neck with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. According to the RCP average, DeSantis currently sits at 13.5% while Haley has gained ground on him, now polling at 10.5%.

The 2024 Republican presidential primary field is shrinking, but former President Trump’s massive lead and the positions of his GOP challengers remain mostly unchanged. 
After former Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Tim Scott suspended their campaigns in recent weeks, Trump still sits at 58.3%, <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/2024_republican_presidential_nomination-7548.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the Real Clear Politics average of national polling, more than 43 points above Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 14.9%. 
Former South Carolina Governor and U.S. ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley comes in at 9.2%, tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramamswamy sits at 4.8%, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is at 2.4%, according to the RCP average as of Wednesday afternoon. The RCP average still factors in Scott’s support at 2.6%, but his numbers will likely disperse among other candidates in the forthcoming polls.
According to the latest survey from <a href="https://poll.qu.edu/images/polling/us/us11152023_regvoter_ufse25.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Quinnipiac</a> taken between November 9-13, Trump and DeSantis performed better than their RCP average with the former president hitting 64% and DeSantis getting a slight boost from the previous Quinnipiac poll, up to 16%. Haley was at 9% in the Quinnipiac poll, Ramaswamy hit 4%, and Christie remained at 2%, all matching their national polling averages. 
Trump also led Biden in the Quinnipiac poll 48% to 46% in a two-way race. With independent and Green Party candidates factored into the survey, Trump’s share of the vote dropped down to 38% to Biden’s 35%. Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was at 17%, while independent Cornell West and Green Party candidate Jill Stein tied at 3% each.  
A Yahoo News poll conducted over the same time period put Trump at 54%, DeSantis at 15%, Haley at 10%, Ramaswamy at 5%, and Christie at 2%. The Yahoo News <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/2024-poll-trump-takes-lead-amid-growing-concerns-about-bidens-age-and-competence-100001250.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poll</a> was also good news for Trump in a projected general election race, showing him leading Biden 44% to 42% in a head-to-head matchup. 
An Economist/YouGov poll conducted between November 11-14 showed the former president leading the GOP field at 57%, while the poll gave DeSantis his best marks in a survey since a Monmouth poll in mid-July with the Florida governor coming in at 19%. Haley and Ramaswamy remained at 9% and 4% respectively in the Economist/YouGov poll. 
While Trump’s lead in the GOP primary has been consistent and commanding, his recent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/latest-presidential-polls-democrats-panic-as-trump-outperforms-biden-in-vital-swing-states">jump over Biden</a> in numerous general election polls “mystified” Democrats — some of whom are beginning to sound the alarm on Biden’s re-election chances.

New Hampshire refused to mess with the state law, which has helped preserve the decades-long tradition of it holding the first presidential primary, despite the DNC&#8217;s threat to levy sanctions that would <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-national-committee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strip the power</a> of New Hampshire&#8217;s delegates at next year&#8217;s national convention in Chicago.

The effort by the DNC to make South Carolina the first presidential nominating state comes as part of a push for more diversity atop the early voting process. South Carolina also happens to be the state where Biden started to gain momentum in the 2020 primary contest with a victory after he got fourth place in the Iowa caucuses and fifth place in New Hampshire.
Though Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/democratic-national-committee" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opted</a> not to appear on the primary ballot in New Hampshire because of the brewing standoff over the order of election contests, there has been an effort to get voters to <a href="https://www.npr.org/2023/11/01/1209838428/new-hampshire-primary-democrats-write-in-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">write in</a> the incumbent&#8217;s name. Biden has a couple primary challengers, including Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and self-help author Marianne Williamson, but has dominated primary polls.

A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michigan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michigan</a> judge ruled Tuesday that former President Donald Trump can stay on the state&#8217;s primary ballot in 2024, dismissing one of several challenges to block a Trump candidacy by using an insurrection clause in the U.S. Constitution.
The lawsuit — led by the left-wing nonprofit organization Free Speech for Free Peoples, argues Trump violated section 3 of the 14th Amendment in connection with the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6, 2021. The clause bars anyone who previously took an oath of office from running for office if they have &#8220;engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.&#8221;
But Michigan Court of Claims Judge James Redford reportedly <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/michigan-judge-denies-effort-keep-trump-2024-primary-ballot-rcna125208" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that under state law, the secretary of state lacks authority to intervene in a primary election. The judge reportedly <a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/michigan-judge-says-trump-will-remain-on-primary-ballot-rejecting-challenge-under-insurrection-clause" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he could not remove Trump from the primary ballot because the former president followed state law to qualify.
&#8220;The ultimate decision is made by the respective political party, with the consent of the listed candidate,&#8221; the judge wrote.
Ron Fein, legal director and attorney for the petitioners of Free Speech For People, said the group would appeal the ruling immediately.
&#8220;The Michigan Supreme Court should reverse this badly-reasoned lower court decision,&#8221; Fein said in a <a href="https://freespeechforpeople.org/joint-statement-by-free-speech-for-people-and-mark-brewer-of-goodman-acker-co-counsel-for-the-plaintiffs-in-labrant-v-benson-on-todays-ruling-by-the-michigan-court-of-claims/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news release</a>. &#8220;While our appeal is pending, the trial court&#8217;s decision isn&#8217;t binding on any other court, and we continue our current and planned legal actions in other states to enforce Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment against Donald Trump.&#8221;
Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung celebrated the judge&#8217;s decision in a statement.
&#8220;Each and every one of these ridiculous cases have LOST because they are all un-Constitutional left-wing fantasies orchestrated by monied allies of the Biden campaign seeking to turn the election over to the courts and deny the American people the right to choose their next president,&#8221; Cheung said in a statement, adding he anticipated similar wins in similar attempts to remove Trump from the primary ballot in other states.

Efforts to remove Trump from state ballots using the insurrection clause have been appearing in a series of lawsuits nationwide from critics of the leading Republican contender.
According to Cornell University&#8217;s Legal Information Institute, U.S. officials ratified the Amendment in 1868 in the aftermath of the Civil War during the Reconstruction Era, which was designed to represent a new birth of freedom for previously disenfranchised citizens.
Trump has criticized the lawsuits as &#8220;frivolous,&#8221; claiming that &#8220;radical Democrat dark money groups&#8221; fund the legal challenges to interfere with his attempt to retake the White House in 2025.
&#8220;This is like a banana republic,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-files-lawsuit-to-counter-effort-to-remove-him-from-ballot-in-michigan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> radio host Dan Bongino. &#8220;And what they&#8217;re doing is, it&#8217;s called election interference. … Now the 14th Amendment is just a continuation of that. It&#8217;s nonsense.&#8221;
Last week, the Minnesota Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/minnesota-supreme-court-dismisses-insurrection-clause-challenge-to-keep-trump-off-states-primary-ballot-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dismissed</a> the left-wing group&#8217;s legal challenge, saying state law allows political parties to put anyone on a primary ballot.
Other groups in Arizona, Colorado, and New Hampshire have also filed similar lawsuits against Trump. But last month, Colorado became the first state to bring its challenge to trial under the constitutional measure — which has rarely been used over the last 150 years. A state judge reportedly scheduled closing arguments for next week.
Legal experts reportedly expect the issue to eventually reach the U.S. Supreme Court.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/nikki-haley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nikki Haley</a>’s presidential campaign is planning to reserve $10 million in advertising for a blitz across <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/iowa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Iowa</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-hampshire" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Hampshire</a> in the final weeks leading up to their primaries in January.
Haley, who last held public office as former President Donald Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations, is planning to sweep ad spaces across television, radio, and digital in a sprint to overtake Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the GOP primary, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/nikki-haley-president-republican-desantis-trump-c93fa155032fc7e3607a54816163f2b2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a>. DeSantis currently sits second in national polling.
Both DeSantis and Haley sit far behind former President Trump, who has maintained a double-digit lead nationally throughout the primary.
Haley may have received a boost to her primary campaign with the exit of Sen. Tim Scott, a fellow South Carolinian who failed to gather momentum throughout the Republican primary. Scott announced his exit from the primary race in an interview on Fox News on Sunday night.
Two of Scott’s big money donors have already moved into the Haley camp less than 24 hours after Scott’s decision to walk away, according to <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/campaigns/two-major-gop-donors-support-haley-after-scott-exit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Examiner</a>. Eric LeVine and Andy Sabin have said they will support Haley in the primary, and two other donors, Chad Walldorf and Jeff Burns, have signaled they may do the same.
Haley’s upcoming ad campaign will be her campaign’s first official advertising reservation, and she is investing heavily early in Iowa and New Hampshire as tries to knock DeSantis out of the second-place spot. Haley wants to position herself as the best alternative to Trump by her home-state primary contest in South Carolina.
DeSantis is currently only spending in Iowa after reserving $2 million in ad buys in the state last month. His campaign reported $5 million available in September and has said it has raised millions more since, according to the <a href="https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/elections/presidential/caucus/2023/11/13/nikki-haley-to-spend-10m-on-ads-to-catch-ron-desantis-in-gop-campaign/71570054007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Des Moines Register</a>.
“As Americans look behind the curtain, they will see [Haley] does not have the extensive record of conservative achievements that Ron DeSantis boasts,” DeSantis spokesman Andrew Romeo said. “It’s clear there is no way Nikki Haley can beat Donald Trump, and every dollar spent on her candidacy is an in-kind to the Trump Campaign. … We are confident the Iowa voters will see who will best represent them and their values.”
Haley campaign manager Betsy Ankney predicted that the DeSantis campaign would flounder in New Hampshire and South Carolina.
“Nikki Haley’s momentum and path to victory are clear,” Ankney said, according to the AP. “The same can’t be said for Ron DeSantis, who, even with a decent showing in Iowa, can’t afford a cup of coffee at the Red Arrow diner in New Hampshire and is a mere tourist in South Carolina.”

Haley Plans $10M Ad Blitz To Set Up Showdown With Trump

Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) officially ended his Republican presidential campaign on Sunday night after failing to gain traction with GOP primary voters.
Scott made the announcement during an interview with former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) on Fox News.
&#8220;When I go back to Iowa, it will not be as a presidential candidate,&#8221; Scott said. &#8220;I am suspending my campaign. I think the voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet, have been really clear that they&#8217;re telling me, &#8216;not now, Tim.'&#8221;
&#8220;Romans 8:28 is such an important scripture, it says that &#8216;all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose,'&#8221; Scott said. &#8220;I think the message is clear for me right now, I am indeed suspending the campaign.&#8221;
He said that he has no plans to endorse any of the other Republican candidates.
&#8220;I&#8217;m going to recommend that the voters study each candidate and their candidacies and frankly their past and make the best decision for the future of the country,&#8221; Scott said. &#8220;The best way for me to be helpful is to not weigh in on who they should endorse.&#8221;
He suggested that he does have political ambitions moving forward and could run again for president again in the future.
Gowdy was shocked by the announcement, as was Scott&#8217;s campaign staff.
&#8220;A senior staffer tells me on the condition of anonymity that this is incredibly frustrating for staffers,&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/MegKinnardAP/status/1723906970850095589">said</a> Associated Press reporter Meg Kinnard. &#8220;A large portion of the SC team had been sent to Iowa in the last month &#8211; and now they have to find a way to get them back tomorrow. The staffer added they had been operating as though he still planned to win, and were blindsided by Tim Scott&#8217;s announcement on Fox News.&#8221;
Multiple Republican candidates have dropped out in recent weeks, including former Vice President Mike Pence, former Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, and several lesser-known candidates.
There have been increasing calls in recent days for North Dakota Governor Burgum and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson to drop since neither qualified for the most recent Republican presidential debate.

According to a Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/us/republicans-stiffen-qualifying-requirements-fourth-debate-december-2023-11-03/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> published last week, the fourth debate requirements will set a higher entry bar for the candidates.
All candidates must receive at least 6% support in two national polls — or 6% in one national poll and 6% in one statewide poll in one of the key early voting states: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, or Nevada. In addition, they must have at least 80,000 donors — and have 200 or more donors from each of 20 states or territories.

Former President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/donald-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Donald Trump</a> officially received the endorsement of Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders at a rally in Hialeah, Florida, on Wednesday.
Sanders, who working under the former president as White House press secretary, teased her endorsement earlier this week. Trump took the stage for his rally in Florida as five of his GOP primary competitors took another stage together in Miami for the third primary debate. Trump has skipped the primary debates, citing his lead in the polls.
“Our country has never needed Donald Trump more than we do right now,” Sanders told the cheering crowd. “Tonight, I am so proud to endorse my former boss, my friend, and everybody’s favorite president, Donald J. Trump.”
Trump took the stage after Sanders, thanking his former spokeswoman for her support and launching into a roughly 45-minute speech. The former president repeatedly attacked the sitting president, Joe Biden, over his handling of the economy, the southern border, international relations, and other issues. Trump also repeated his nickname for the president, “crooked Joe,” a reference to the influence peddling scheme the Biden family has allegedly engaged in for years with foreign agents.
“Crooked Joe Biden and the radical Left Democrats are turning the United States into Communist Cuba, and you know because we have a lot of great Cubans here,” Trump said to cheers from the Florida crowd. “We have a lot of great Cubans here, and nobody ever did more for Americans that love Cuba than a gentleman named Donald J. Trump when he was president.”
Trump estimated that 15 million immigrants will have crossed the U.S. southern border and entered the country by the end of Biden’s first term. He pledged to launch the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history” on the first day of his second term.
Trump also touted the results of a recent <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/05/us/politics/biden-trump-2024-poll.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">poll</a> from The New York Times and Sienna College that showed the former president leading Biden in five of six swing states.
“It means we’re going to have strong borders, great education, you’re going to be able to buy a house, we’re going to have interest rates come down, we’re going to have a great military, we’re going to have safety and security. It means everything. It means we’re going to have a country, because you’re not going to have a country left if we don’t win this election,” Trump said.
Toward the end of the rally, the Republican mayor of Hialeah, Esteban Bovo, joined Trump on stage and presented him with a mock road sign touting the former president’s name: “President Donald J. Trump Avenue.” Bovo said he would bring a proposal up to rename a street after Trump to the city council next week.

Republican Arkansas Governor and former White House Press Secretary <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-choice-is-between-normal-and-crazy-sarah-sanders-draws-sharp-contrast-with-dems-in-sotu-response" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sarah Huckabee Sanders</a> is set to endorse her former boss Donald Trump at a rally Wednesday night, her office confirmed. 
Sanders will appear with Trump on stage at his rally near Miami on Wednesday, the same night the third Republican presidential debate will take place just right down the road from Trump’s event, NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/sarah-huckabee-sanders-set-endorse-trump-florida-rally-miami-rcna123876" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The Arkansas governor’s endorsement comes as Trump dominates the GOP field in the polls and is ahead of President Joe Biden in the Real Clear Politics average of national polling. 
&#8220;It’s not a question between right versus left anymore,&#8221; Sanders said in a statement. &#8220;It’s normal versus crazy, and President Biden and the left are doubling down on crazy. The time has come to return to the normal policies of the Trump era which created a safer, stronger, and more prosperous America, and that’s why I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President.&#8221;
Sanders&#8217; statement echoed her <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-choice-is-between-normal-and-crazy-sarah-sanders-draws-sharp-contrast-with-dems-in-sotu-response" target="_blank" rel="noopener">response</a> to Biden&#8217;s most recent State of the Union Address, where she drew a contrast between the Republicans&#8217; and Democrats&#8217; visions for the future of America.
“In the radical Left’s America, Washington taxes you and lights your hard-earned money on fire. But you get crushed with high gas prices, empty grocery shelves, and our children are taught to hate one another on account of their race, but not to love one another or our great country,” she said in the GOP&#8217;s televised response to Biden&#8217;s SOTU. “The dividing line in America is no longer between Right or Left. The choice is between normal and crazy.”
The former press secretary for Trump had reportedly frustrated the Trump campaign by withholding her endorsement for this long as he faces a slew of Republican opponents in the GOP primary. The former president responded to Sanders’ pending endorsement, calling it an “honor.” 
“We had great success in the White House and it’s an honor to have Sarah’s endorsement,&#8221; Trump said in a statement. &#8220;I look forward to having her at the big rally in Hialeah this Wednesday.”
With Sanders’ endorsement, Trump has now secured the backing of five Republican governors, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/who-has-endorsed-donald-trump-president-2024-republicans-gop-2023-2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including</a> Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. Sanders’ endorsement of Trump comes after the former president’s Republican rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/iowa-governor-reynolds-endorses-desantis-for-president-hes-the-person-we-need-leading-this-country" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds on Monday, securing his biggest endorsement of the 2024 primary. Reynolds backed DeSantis after initially saying she would stay neutral before the Iowa caucuses, scheduled for January 15, 2024, angering Trump who <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/111359635139712856" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> her “disloyal” and said that her DeSantis endorsement “will be the end of her political career.”

Five Florida legislators have flipped their allegiance from Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis to former President Donald Trump in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. 
In all, Trump <a href="https://themessenger.com/news/trump-scores-more-florida-lawmaker-endorsements-including-desantis-defectors-exclusive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gained</a> seven endorsements from state legislators on Saturday, the same day he gave a speech at the Florida Freedom Summit. The five who flipped from DeSantis to Trump include State Reps. Jessica Baker, Webster Barnaby, Alina Garcia, Kevin Steele, and State Sen. Debbie Mayfield.
State Representatives Mike Beltran and David Borrero, who had not yet endorsed in the race, threw their support behind the former president and GOP frontrunner on Saturday. Previously, Trump <a href="https://nhjournal.com/trump-loses-nhgop-rep-endorsement-to-desantis-over-treatment-of-fox-news-host/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost</a> the support of <a href="https://nhjournal.com/another-nhgop-state-rep-dumps-trump-endorses-desantis/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">two</a> New Hampshire state representatives and an Iowa state <a href="https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2023/07/14/iowa-state-senator-flips-support-from-trump-to-desantis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">senator</a>, who each defected to DeSantis. 
“As instability grows around the world and economic uncertainty takes root here at home, folks across my district tell me constantly they want to see President Donald Trump back in the White House and Gov. Ron DeSantis back on the job here in Florida, finishing the work he promised to do less than a year ago,” Baker said in a statement to The Messenger, the news outlet that first <a href="https://themessenger.com/news/trump-scores-more-florida-lawmaker-endorsements-including-desantis-defectors-exclusive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> the endorsements. 
On Saturday, Trump brought some of the legislators who flipped their support to him on stage during his address to the summit, where he <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/11/04/densantis-trump-florida/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> received the strongest show of support among all of the GOP candidates for president. According to Florida&#8217;s Voice, when the lawmakers left the stage, the crowd began shouting, &#8220;We love Trump!&#8221;

The seven endorsements follow another DeSantis defector, State Rep. Randy Fine, who <a href="https://themessenger.com/politics/top-ally-bashes-desantiss-antisemitism-response-and-switches-endorsement-to-trump" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsed</a> Trump two weeks ago. Trump also has the support of the majority of Florida’s congressional delegation, including Reps. Byron Donalds, Matt Gaetz, and Anna Paulina Luna. Fourteen of Florida’s Republican congress members have endorsed the former president, while one has endorsed DeSantis, according to The Messenger. 
On Thursday, Trump landed the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/florida-sen-rick-scott-endorses-trump-for-president-says-gop-should-unite" target="_blank" rel="noopener">endorsement</a> of Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL). Scott, who served as Florida’s governor until 2019 when he became senator, said he and Trump had a strong relationship during Trump’s first term, working “hand in hand” to improve Florida.

“I don’t think there’s any question in my mind. He is the one person running that can really bring strength back to our country,” Scott <a href="https://apnews.com/article/desantis-trump-florida-gop-4e290803224da2c9ebef65f41b409542" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the Freedom Summit crowd. 
In both the <a href="https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/elections/2010/results/florida.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2010</a> and <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/elections/2014/florida-elections" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2014</a> gubernatorial elections, Scott defeated his Democrat challengers by just over a percentage point. In 2018, DeSantis <a href="https://www.politico.com/election-results/2018/florida/governor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defeated</a> Democrat challenger Andrew Gillum by .4% but won by a <a href="https://www.politico.com/2022-election/results/florida/statewide-offices/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">margin</a> of more than 19 percentage points four years later. In 2016, Trump <a href="https://www.politico.com/2016-election/results/map/president/florida/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> the state by just over a percentage point and <a href="https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/results/state/florida/president" target="_blank" rel="noopener">increased</a> his support in the state four years later, defeating President Joe Biden 51.2% to 47.9%. 
For his part, DeSantis’s team said his detractors didn’t mean much in the race and touted his endorsements in Iowa. 
“Ron DeSantis is dominating the field — including the former president — in supportive state legislative endorsements from across the country,” spokesman Bryan Griffin told The Messenger. “In Iowa, DeSantis holds a historic count of 41 state legislative endorsements, which far surpasses Trump &#8230; And, in Florida, DeSantis has nearly 100 state legislators endorsing his run for president. That, too, is a number that significantly outpaces Trump.&#8221;

Charlamagne questioned Haley, an Indian-American who is also the only female candidate in the Republican field, on why she doesn’t go along with the identity politics playbook so often used by Democrats.  
&#8220;Why don&#8217;t you play the identity politics game, though?&#8221; Charlamagne <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG2Gphe-Xws" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asked</a> Haley while guest hosting &#8220;The Daily Show.&#8221; &#8220;Because that&#8217;s something Democrats like to do. They always talk about how diverse they are. Why don&#8217;t you get into the identity politics game and play up being Indian more? Because a lot of voters just think you&#8217;re a white woman.&#8221;
Haley responded, arguing that identity politics divides people, while she wants to seek unity. 
&#8220;We were the only Indian family in a small rural southern town in South Carolina. We weren&#8217;t white enough to be white. We weren&#8217;t black enough to be black,&#8221; said Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the UN. &#8220;And I remember when I would get teased on the playground and I would come home, my mom would always say &#8216;Your job is not to show them how you&#8217;re different, your job is to show them how you&#8217;re similar.&#8217; And that lesson on the playground has played out throughout my life, whether it was in the corporate world, whether it was as governor, whether it was as ambassador.&#8221;
&#8220;I think the problem is when you start labeling people, you&#8217;re assuming that they&#8217;re different than you. I don&#8217;t want to just be a woman. I don&#8217;t want to just be Indian,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to just be a mom. I don&#8217;t want to just be a Republican. I don&#8217;t want to just be all of those things. I&#8217;m more than that. And I think every person is more than that.&#8221; 
Charlamagne pushed the issue further, claiming there is “sexism in the GOP” and asking Haley if she thinks being a woman hurts her chances at getting the nomination in the Republican Party. 
&#8220;I don&#8217;t worry about being a woman at all,&#8221; she shot back. &#8220;I mean, I wear heels. It&#8217;s not for a fashion statement. It&#8217;s because if I get mad, you know, I&#8217;m ready to kick any time. And I think that people have always respected me because they know I do my homework, they know I fight for what I believe in and I tell the truth. I tell the hard truths whether they want to hear it or not. And I think that&#8217;s where I&#8217;ve always been different.&#8221;

Haley has brought up her female status and Indian background during her presidential campaign but <a href="https://share.snipd.com/chapter/d837eea0-2e28-4bb6-ad33-0457e037e936" target="_blank" rel="noopener">says</a> there&#8217;s a difference between falling into identity politics and being &#8220;proud&#8221; to be an Indian-American woman. In the first GOP presidential debate in August, the former South Carolina governor threw herself into a back-and-forth between former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy on climate change.

Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott endorsed former President Donald Trump’s re-election bid on Thursday, adding to Trump’s support from the Sunshine State’s congressional delegation. 
Scott made the endorsement in a Newsweek <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/rick-scott-its-time-unite-behind-donald-trump-opinion-1840060" target="_blank" rel="noopener">op-ed</a>, where he called on Republicans to unite behind Trump to defeat President Joe Biden. The Florida senator, who has <a href="https://www.news-journalonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2023/11/02/senator-rick-scott-backs-donald-trump-over-florida-gov-ron-desantis/71420992007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> refrained from primary endorsements in the past, touted Trump’s accomplishments in his first term and blasted Biden’s failures. 
“I am optimistic that we can return America to its rightful position of economic and military strength and the undisputed moral leader of the free world, but only with strong leadership in the White House,” Scott wrote. “That is why I support my friend President Donald J. Trump to be the 47th president of the United States and encourage every Republican to unite behind his efforts to win back the White House.”
“It&#8217;s time for the Republican Party to come together, behind one candidate, and declare with one voice that we are united in our efforts to defeat Joe Biden and rescue America,” he added. 
Scott said that the country was &#8220;safer and more prosperous” while Trump was in office, citing the economy, energy independence, and the 45th president’s tough stance against China and adversarial leaders across the world. 
The Florida senator also praised Trump’s support for Israel during his term, saying he did “more for Israel than any other president in our history” and ushered in a period of peace in the Middle East. The current administration, according to Scott, is doing everything in its power to reverse Trump’s successes. 
Scott, who served as Florida’s governor until 2019, when he became senator, said he and Trump had a strong relationship during Trump&#8217;s first term, working “hand in hand” to improve Florida. He added that they “accomplished a lot together” and must do the same in 2024 to reverse Biden’s policies. 
“Here&#8217;s the honest truth. It&#8217;s not morning in America today. It&#8217;s midnight in America,” Scott said. “In my view there is one person running who has the strength to bring America back, who is well-positioned to win the Republican primary, and who will win the general election. And that is why I am supporting Donald Trump for president.”

According to the RealClearPolitics <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/fl/2024_florida_republican_presidential_primary-7852.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">average</a> of polls, Trump – the GOP frontrunner nationally – leads the field for the Florida Republican primary at 46.3%. Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, his next closest challenger, is at 36%, while the remainder of the candidates are in the low single digits. 
“I&#8217;d never demand or even ask that another candidate drop out of a political contest,” Scott wrote. “That&#8217;s a decision for every candidate to make for themselves. But I&#8217;m supporting Donald Trump for president because the stakes are too high.
