On Monday, Young America’s Foundation announced that they will team with Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro to launch a nationwide tour invading campus “safe spaces” in 2016.
YAF’s new Fred R. Allen Lecture Series will act as a follow-up to the hugely successful appearance Shapiro made at the University of Missouri in the midst of the seething cauldron boiling when leftists instituted protests claiming a racist atmosphere pervaded the campus.
The lecture drew hundreds of people into the room where Shapiro spoke; others had to watch from an overflow space nearby. Over 40,000 people watched the event live online and the 90-plus minute video of the speech and Q & A has been watched by over half a million people.
Only a few short weeks after the Mizzou speech, YAF sponsored Shapiro to speak at Otay Ranch High School, where the principal stopped Shapiro mid-speech and informed him that he had “crossed the line” because he had informed the students that Americans who were permanently poor had made poor decisions rather than suffered victimization by the American system.
As YAF notes, “Based on Shapiro’s record of igniting the fury of leftist activists at every schools he visits, it is fair to expect this lecture tour will include a variety of explosive confrontations with campus liberals. Shapiro is a conservative powerhouse with a reputation for his bold and unapologetic commentary. “
Ron Robinson, president of Young America’s Foundation, enthused, “Ben is the perfect person to provide the education on the importance of free speech and political correctness this country’s liberal professors have clearly failed to administer. We deeply appreciate the support of Fred R. Allen for making this one-of-a kind lecture series possible. He is ensuring that thousands of students will understand and be inspired by freedom.”

Shapiro, who is also a New York Times bestselling author, syndicated columnist, graduate of Harvard Law, and editor-at-large for Breitbart News, recently was featured in a six-page interview in the Limbaugh Letter. He commented, “I look forward to the opportunity given to me by YAF and Fred R. Allen to speak to young people around the country. It’s time for America’s precious snowflakes to learn that facts don’t care about your feelings, and that truth matters far more than the irrational emotional response to it.”
