The shooting of Jacob Blake was the catalyst for the latest explosion of violence, looting, and riots which hit Kenosha, Wisconsin in late August. After poll numbers made it clear that the Democrats could no longer silently ride the violence to victory in November, they pivoted to offer weak condemnation in the form of Joe Biden’s own “good people on both sides” moment.
Regardless of this feckless and vague criticism, the Democrats’ underlying strategy remains in place as they hope to leverage both the violence which continues nightly across America and the destructive lie of systemic police racism to their benefit. As the latest victim at the center of this cynical Venn diagram, Jacob Blake — who was charged on July 6 with felony third-degree sexual assault, misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct connected to domestic abuse — has become the Left’s latest obscene political martyr.
Last week, Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris met with Jacob Blake Sr., the father of Jacob Blake, who described the discussion as “like I was speaking to my uncle and one of my sisters.” A few days later, Biden said that he spoke directly with Jacob Blake, stating that “What I came away with was the overwhelming sense of resilience and optimism that they have about the kind of response they’re getting.”
Then, most absurdly, Kamala Harris met with Blake, saying that Blake’s family were “incredible,” praising their “dignity and grace.” According to Blake’s attorney, Ben Crump, Blake “told Sen. Harris that he was proud of her, and the senator told Jacob that she was also proud of him.”

The world the Democrats are building is truly upside down. After speaking with Ben Shapiro on “Sunday Special,” Candace Owens slammed Biden for thinking “black people are stupid” after choosing to meet with “illiterate rapper” Cardi B, a comment for which Owens predictably received backlash from the Cardi B-worshipping Left. But Biden and Harris’s behavior regarding Blake not only confirms Owens’ assertion, but shows the depths the Democrats are willing to plumb in order to achieve power.
The very nature of truth and morality has been discarded in favor of the false narrative that the United States is fundamentally racist, for which the only solution is further Democratic Party rule. Politically convenient black people are selected or rejected on the basis of how well they fit this false narrative. The only detail the Left cares about is skin color, resulting in the appallingly racist belief that victimhood can be determined by race alone.
Given the circumstances of Blake’s arrest, it is patently absurd that Biden and Harris decided to speak with Blake’s family in the first place. However, the way they have doubled down on the familiar pattern of reconstructing the apparently terrible character of those they hope to present as political martyrs represents a new level of depravity.
The character of those harmed by police should be irrelevant, with the only details of concern being the preceding events and surrounding context. Through that lens, based on currently available evidence, Blake’s shooting seems to be a justified use of force to incapacitate someone who attempted to access a weapon after violently resisting arrest. Blake’s character, or alleged crimes, should be immaterial.
However, in the same way as Michael Brown, the Left’s decision to elevate Blake as a pillar of moral decency makes his character damningly relevant. Similarly, the actions or beliefs of Blake’s family are dragged from irrelevance to relevance by the Left’s decision to adorn them with an illogical level of ideological authority based solely on their relation to Blake and their willingness to be used as political pawns.
Firstly, it is unconscionable that Biden and Harris should provide Blake any form of positive support at this point in the case. It is fair to assume that if Blake was a white man accused of sexual assault and domestic violence who allegedly violently resisted arrest and was shot while attempting to access a weapon, Biden and Harris would not have wasted half a second on him or his family. Their decision to reject reality in favor of disingenuous and paternalistic sympathy is demonstrative of the fundamental racism at the heart of their ideology.
Secondly, their actions show that the opportunistic Democrats have officially moved on from the #MeToo movement, reverting to their familiar basis of racial identity politics. We should not forget that Harris launched her doomed presidential campaign on the back of her ardent “support” for the #MeToo movement during her despicable and unsubstantiated attacks on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Now, she will happily throw Blake’s former girlfriend — the woman Blake is accused of digitally raping in front of her child, and who called the police on the day of Blake’s shooting — under her campaign bus if she believes she can profit politically.
Finally, the disregard for evidence of immorality and culpability while assigning praise based solely on racial convenience is indicative of the Democratic Party Biden and Harris wish to cement into power. Harris described Blake’s “incredible family,” lauding their “dignity and grace.” They ignore the fact that Jacob Blake Sr., who has spoken on multiple occasions with both Biden and Harris, is an open bigot. His social media posts include “A jew can’t tell me sh** period,” “The Jewish media picks and chooses who is a terrorists and is not,” and “Warning for Jews in Pittsburgh no warning for gunman in Kentucky.”

If Donald Trump described a raging antisemite as “incredible,” would Harris applaud his words? If Donald Trump visited the hospital bed of a man who is accused of sexually assaulting a black woman in front of her child, would Biden support him?
The Democrats have decided that they will use both Jacob Blake Sr. and Jacob Blake Jr. as their platforms for power. Ironically, their choice of an antisemite and an alleged rapist provides an excellent example of the moral integrity which Biden and Harris would provide.
