President Donald Trump shut down his private golf club on Friday to allow 60 service members from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to play there for free as a thank you for their service.
The USCG service members participated in a “four-man scramble at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach,” where President Trump also treated them to lunch, the Washington Examiner reported.
“Today, President Donald Trump invited service members of the US Coast Guard from Station Lake Worth Inlet to lunch and to play golf at Trump International Golf Course,” Hogan Gidley, deputy White House press secretary, said. “The President wanted to personally thank these brave people for their selfless service to this great nation.”
President Trump, who also provided sandwiches to Coast Guard service members on Thanksgiving, has spent the holidays at Mar-a-Lago and has frequented the Trump International Golf Club — where CNN stalked him from the bushes for most of the week.
