President Donald Trump shrugged off recent remarks from democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Monday after she called him a racist.
Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks in a recent interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” in which she insisted that the president was a racist.
“Mr. President, congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez called you a racist,” a reporter said.
“Who did?” Trump asked.
“Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez,” the reporter shouted back.
“Who cares?” Trump said, dismissing the question.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to Trump’s response by claiming that she knows that she got under his skin.
“I bartended for *years* in New York City. I understand guys like this like the back of my hand,” she tweeted. “We got under his skin.”
The 29-year-old bartender turned self-described “democratic socialist” politician was apparently unaware of the fact that Trump doesn’t drink.
Ocasio-Cortez’s claimed that Trump was a racist during an interview on January 6. Here’s the exchange:
Anderson Cooper: You don’t talk about President Trump very much.
Ocasio-Cortez: No.
Cooper: Why?
Ocasio-Cortez: No. Because I think he’s a symptom of a problem.
Cooper: What do you mean?
Ocasio-Cortez: The president certainly didn’t invent racism. But he’s certainly given a voice to it and expanded it and created a platform for those things.
Cooper: Do you believe President Trump is a racist?
Ocasio-Cortez: Yeah. Yeah. No question.
Trump’s comments on Monday morning came as he was leaving the White House for a trip to New Orleans for a scheduled appearance “at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 100th annual convention.”
Before leaving, Trump tweeted about the Democrats refusing to work with him to secure the border and reopen the government:
“The Fake News gets crazier and more dishonest every single day,” Trump added. “Amazing to watch as certain people covering me, and the tremendous success of this administration, have truly gone MAD! Their Fake reporting creates anger and disunity. Take two weeks off and come back rested. Chill!”
