House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on Thursday that the Republican’s resolution to prevent a government shutdown was “doggie doo” being passed off as a “chocolate sundae.”
Pelosi’s remarks come as congressional leaders try to avert a government shutdown over spending which has centered around a fight on immigration, specifically protections that Democrats are seeking for illegal aliens. House Republicans voted on Thursday to keep the government running by passing a short-term continuing resolution which now must pass the Senate if the government is to remain open, Politico reported.
Democrats are prioritizing the needs of 800,000 illegal aliens and are prepared to allow military and law enforcement personnel to go without being paid as the left-wing political party continues to prioritize everything other than American citizens.
“This is like giving you a bowl of doggie doo, put a cherry on top and call it a chocolate sundae,” Pelosi said. “This is nothing.”
