Left-wing and Democrat-aligned news media outlets are framing alleged White House improprieties as resembling the 1970’s Watergate scandal. Subsidiary and complementary narratives include framing President Donald Trump’s conduct — particularly his termination of James Comey from the FBI’s directorship — as “Nixonian,” accusing him of obstructing justice, and casting 2016’s presidential election as having been compromised by “election hacking” or generalized interference directed by the Russian state.

The aforementioned news media outlets, as well as ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNBC all present themselves as politically objective and non-partisan.
