WATCH: Maxine Waters Goes To Church, Gives Wild Sermon On The Evils Of Trump

Though she was recently rebuked by leaders of her own party for taking her calls for the “harassment” of members of the Trump administration a bit too far, Congresswoman Maxine Waters isn’t dialing back her rhetoric. In a rather wild political speech/sermon at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Los Angeles Sunday, Waters declared to the delight of the congregation that she is “in this fight” against the president.

In her 14-minute political sermon, Waters decried Donald Trump and his administration for just about all of the unverified allegations the Left has made against him for two years.

“We never dreamed we’d have someone in the White House who was divisive, who could not tell the truth, and who was intent on not making America great again, but taking America down!” she said.

“I will not sit quietly and allow the President of the United States, or anybody else, to undo all that’s been done,” she said, a theme which she repeated a few times in her speech. “And ladies and gentlemen, I am in this fight!” she announced, to strong applause. She “will not shut up,” she promised, and will not cower to the president’s and his allies’ intimidation.

Top on Waters’ list of “ruthless” Trump’s supposedly seditious acts is his supposed collusion with Russia.

“Russia elected this president!” Waters declared. Trump meeting privately with Vladimir Putin last week is yet more evidence of the leaders’ schemes to bring America down, she suggested. Though the private meeting between the two leaders is exactly like every other private meeting between heads of state, she accused Trump of trying to hide something. “That’s not right!” she said.

Trump, said Waters, “embarrassed us” on the world stage and didn’t even know what NATO means, she added, to laughs and applause.

He was also considering pardoning Paul Manafort, she suggested, while “we have people going to jail everyday for stealing a piece of gum.”

In the appearance, Waters efficiently worked through all of the Democratic Party’s talking points, including protecting Obamacare, which she framed as particularly important to the African American community. She ended by calling on the congregants to “engage” in the political fight.

“I want you to engage. I want you on the social media, I want you on the telephone,” she urged the audience.

“Most of all, we’ve got to talk about the children!” she said, saying Trump is still “separating children from their parents.” She then connected the temporary separation of children from their parents who crossed into the country illegally because of legal precedent to slave-owners separating slave families.

In response, members of the congregation decried the administration’s actions as “evil” and “horrible.”
