Law enforcement officials at Arizona State University are reportedly investigating a video that went viral late on Wednesday that showed a man screaming violent statements about Republicans.
Students for Trump at ASU posted the video on Twitter, writing, “CRAZY LEFTIST ON COLLEGE CAMPUS Watch as a tolerant leftist threatens to ‘slash the throat’ of [President Trump] and every Republican. We will NOT let the left silence us! @TrumpStudents #KeepAmericaGreat”
“…townsquare, slash his throat!” the man said in apparent reference to President Donald Trump. “Every f***ing Republican! Suck my f***ing balls! Slash Republicans’ throats! Slash fascists’ throats! Death to fascists!”

The Arizona Republic reported on Wednesday night that authorities at the university were investigating the alleged threats that were made in the video and that the university was also looking into the incident.
The Arizona State Police Department said in a statement: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media where an individual appears to be making threats. We are working with the University to address the matter.”

ASU spokesman Jerry Gonzalez told The Arizona Republic, “We are looking into this video posted to Twitter that shows a young male screaming at a couple of other people on campus about political leanings. Not sure when it was recorded, but it appears to have been uploaded to social today.”
Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk responded to the incident by writing: “Here is a violent leftist threatening to cut the throat of our @TrumpStudents leader in Arizona. This is the type of violence our students face every single day. Just wait until Trump gets re-elected!”
The incident appears to have happened after the Senate acquitted Trump on Thursday from both of House Democrats’ partisan articles of impeachment.
“In a pair of votes whose outcome was never in doubt, the Senate fell well short of the two-thirds margin that would have been needed to remove the 45th president,” The New York Times reported. “The verdicts came down — after three weeks of debate — almost entirely along party lines, with every Democrat voting ‘guilty’ on both charges and Republicans uniformly voting ‘not guilty’ on the obstruction of Congress charge.”
“As expected, the tally in favor of conviction on each article fell far below the 67-vote threshold necessary for removal. The first charge was abuse of power, accusing Mr. Trump of a scheme to use the levers of government to coerce Ukraine to do his political bidding,” the Times later added. “It did not even garner a majority vote, failing 48 to 52, with Mr. Romney voting with the Democrats. The second article, charging Mr. Trump with obstruction of Congress for an across-the-board blockade of House subpoenas and oversight requests, failed 47 to 53, strictly on party lines.”
Following Trump’s acquittal, White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham wrote, “Today, the sham impeachment attempt concocted by Democrats ended in the full vindication and exoneration of President Donald J. Trump. As we have said all along, he is not guilty. The Senate voted to reject the baseless articles of impeachment, and only the President’s political opponents – all Democrats, and one failed Republican presidential candidate – voted for the manufactured impeachment articles.”
