A juror from Sen. Bob Menendez’s (D-NJ) federal corruption trial attended his victory party on Tuesday night after he won re-election.
North Jersey Record reporter Scott Fallon reported that Evelyn Arroyo-Maultsby, of Hillside, New Jersey, attended Menendez’s victory party in a Hoboken hotel.
“Arroyo-Maultsby became slightly famous when she left the jury during deliberations to go on vacation – arrangements she made with U.S. District Judge William H. Walls, along with defense lawyers and prosecutors,” Fallon wrote. “Arroyo-Maultsby wore a Menendez T-shirt on Tuesday night that she received at a rally last month.”
“I never really knew anything about him before the trial,” Arroyo-Maultsby said. “He’s a good man. I was in that jury room and I know he didn’t do anything wrong,” claiming that she “saw no crime.”

Menendez faced a tough re-election as his Republican challenger, Bob Hugin, repeatedly highlighted his corruption case and some of the things he was accused of before a mistrial was declared.
One ad that Hugin ran highlighted the allegations against Menendez that he had sex with underage prostitutes during trips to the Dominican Republic.
