Democrat presidential candidate Bill de Blasio quoted communist terrorist Che Guevara on Thursday while speaking during a union rally at Miami International Airport, which prompted Democrats to demand that he apologize.

De Blasio “dropped Che’s most famous quote as he joined workers who walked off the job in protest of poor conditions and compensation,” the Miami Herald reported. “Before giving up the microphone to the next speaker, de Blasio blurted a quote from one of the most hated historical figures throughout Miami: ‘Hasta la victoria, siempre.'”

“The phrase — which translates roughly to ‘Ever on to victory!’ — was a mantra for Guevara, who became one of Fidel Castro’s top lieutenants,” the Herald added. “Raul Castro uttered the quote on Cuban television when he announced to the world that his older brother had died.”

Multiple news reports have referred to Guevara as a terrorist as he admitted to killing people with no regard to innocence, created a system that put gay people into camps, and was a racist.

“Guevara is considered a murderous sociopath by Miami’s Cuban exile community,” the Herald added, noting that the far-left views him as “a martyr and to some extent became a pop culture figure following his execution in Bolivia.”

Democrat Florida State Senator José Javier Rodríguez, whose district includes Little Havana, demanded that De Blasio apologize for quoting communist terrorist Che Guevara.

“Quoting a murderer responsible for death & oppression in communist Cuba and throughout Latin America is not acceptable,” Rodríguez said in a tweet. “Please apologize.”

Terry Rizzo, who is the chair of the Florida Democratic Party, tweeted: “Mayor Bill DeBlasio does not speak for Floridians or the Florida Democratic Party and he would be wise to apologize.”

Rep. Donna Shalala (D-FL) tweeted: “It is unacceptable to quote a murderer like Che Guevara, especially in Miami, where so many people have suffered as a result of his brutality. The @iflyMIA workers protesting for better conditions deserve our strong support, but their efforts should never be tied to that murderer.”

Florida Republican Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio also both blasted de Blasio for quoting the communist terrorist.

Rubio tweeted: “Bill DeBlasio went to a rally at the #Miami airport today & ended his speech by quoting from the murderous Che Guevara’s farewell letter to Fidel Castro. But how dare anyone call him or any democrat candidate a socialist.”

Scott tweeted: “In case there was any doubt about the Democrats running for President embracing socialism, @BilldeBlasio is in Miami quoting…Che Guevara. You can’t make this up.”
