Beloved TV icon Betty White will soon be featured on a Forever stamp, per an announcement from the United States Postal Service.

The late star of “The Golden Girls” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” will be recognized to “commemorate” her “warmth, wit and charisma.”

The stamp will be released on March 27 in Los Angeles in a ceremony at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

“This collectible Forever stamp honors beloved American actress and comedienne Betty White (1922-2021), whose impish smile is depicted on the stamp and lit up performances in a career that spanned more than 60 years,” USPS said. “Often referred to as the ‘First Lady of Television,’ White was honored with five Primetime Emmy Awards for her work in television, as well as three Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Grammy Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was also much recognized for her animal welfare work.”

The announcement said the new stamp featuring White’s likeness features a digitally created portrait against a violet background and “bubbly spots that befit her sparkling personality.”

Fans are still mourning White, who died on December 31, 2021, just a few weeks shy of her one-hundredth birthday.

White began her entertainment career in the late 1930s, meaning she had the longest television run of any entertainer in history. She is best known for her scene-stealing roles in two pioneering sitcoms — as the promiscuous cooking show host Sue Ann Nivens on ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ in the 1970s and sweet-natured simpleton Rose Nylund on ‘The Golden Girls’ in the 80s.”

White was known for being upbeat, positive, and happy, which came through in all the roles she played in film and on television. During an interview just before her death, the “Golden Girls” star told People that her jovial personality came from being “born a cockeyed optimist.”

“I got it from my mom, and that never changed,” White said. “I always find the positive.”
