<p>Billy Joel postponed his final concert of 2022, a sold-out show at New York City&#8217;s Madison Square Garden scheduled for Monday night due to &#8220;doctor&#8217;s orders.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 73-year-old singer shared Sunday on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CmUUzrKuhoH/">Instagram</a> that &#8220;Bill Joel at The Garden&#8221; would be rescheduled to June because he needed to recover from an infection.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m disappointed to share that I&#8217;m under doctor&#8217;s orders for vocal rest due to a viral infection so unfortunately, I must postpone my Monday, December 19th concert at Madison Square Garden to June,&#8221; he wrote.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m so sorry to let you know so close to show day, but I was hoping to be closer to a full recovery by now,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Sadly, that hasn&#8217;t happened. I look forward to seeing you in the New Year. &#8211; BILLY JOEL.&#8221;</p>

<p>Joel&#8217;s spokesperson acknowledged &#8220;the inconvenience this causes everyone who purchased tickets&#8221; and apologized &#8220;for this unexpected circumstance.&#8221;</p>
